Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, welcome back to
Beyond Sunday everyone.
Hello podcasters, I'm PastorNick and I'm thrilled to be with
you at the start of 2025.
Now I say that and I know 2025started a little while ago.
I had full intentions to kickoff this series at the beginning
of January, but between churchlife, which is a busy December,
and then 21 days of services inJanuary to kick off 21 days of
(00:21):
fasting and prayer, it just gotaway from me.
Add kids, kids, sports andschool into that, and then some
health issues in my family thatit just wasn't possible.
And so here I'm sitting,February 24th, realizing I
haven't recorded anything, andso I wanted to jump on here and
talk with you guys today.
Today we're diving intosomething I'm particularly
excited about an opportunity forall of us to grow deeper in our
(00:43):
faith and understanding.
This year, I'll be sharing somedetails about a new series of
weekly emails focusing ontheology and doctrine, aimed at
taking us from foundationalteachings to deeper, more
reflective insights into ourfaith.
Now, before I do that, let mesay if you want to sign up for
that, you can go to my website.
It's nick-williamscom.
Nick is N-I-C, soN-I-C-williamscom, Nick is N-I-C
(01:03):
, so nic-williamscom.
You can sign up for thenewsletter there.
The first one actually went outthis morning.
So if you sign up this week,I'll make sure you get that
first introductory email lettingyou know where we're going in
doctrine and theology this year.
But I also want to talk to you alittle bit about the podcast.
If you've been with me for anyamount of time, last year's
podcast was fully focused onwhat I preached on Sunday.
We were going through theGospel of John and so Monday
(01:24):
morning I would come andregurgitate some of that.
Try to give you something newif you were here on Sunday and
if you weren't here on Sunday, then give you the crux of where
we're headed.
We're going to do some of thatsimilar again this year.
We're diving into the book ofRomans, starting this Sunday,
and I'm sure I'll share someinsights about Romans and what
we're going through.
If you want to get a head start, go ahead and jump into Romans
chapter.
This will be an introductorymessage this weekend on how do
(01:46):
we study a book of the Bible, what are some things that we
need to look for as we dive intoit.
Pretty excited about that.
We'll also have some guestappearances on the podcast this
year One of the pastors in town.
Joe Davis is actually preachingthrough Romans as well, and so
I'm excited to get him on hereand talk a little bit about why
we're doing this.
Because him and I, about a yearago, began to talk about this
idea of hey, let's preach Romanstogether, and now our schedules
(02:07):
didn't work out.
He started before me, but we'regonna dive into this and kind
of talk about it together, sodon't miss that episode.
I'll let you know when thatone's coming.
Pretty excited about that.
One.
Love Joe Davis and his heartfor God.
(02:29):
Now one is the importance oftheology and doctrine and why
I'm doing this.
You know my passion fortheology and doctrine has
nothing to do with academicinterest.
I went to school for a reallylong time and I am not a guy
that loves academia.
I love the gospel.
It's about these teachings andhow they connect us more
profoundly to our faith and toeach other.
Understanding the whys and howsof our beliefs empowers us to
live out our faith more fully,to engage thoughtfully with the
world around us.
This series is designed to helpus bridge the gap between
(02:51):
Sunday worship and everydaydecisions, bringing the powerful
truths of our faith.
If you do follow around on theemail series.
Let me tell you what to expect.
Each week, you'll receive anemail that tackles a different
topic with theology and doctrine.
Next week, we're going to diveinto why the Bible is true, why
we believe that.
Where did it come from?
The kind of foundational startwith the basics, if you will
understanding the nature of God,the role of Scripture, the
(03:13):
essentials of salvation.
As the year progresses, we'lldelve into more complex subjects
like eschatology, ecclesiologyand Christian ethics.
The emails will be concise, informative, designed to provoke
thought and discussion.
Plus, you will have the chanceto suggest topics that you're
curious about, making thisjourney truly interactive and
responsive to your interest.
I've already had tons ofquestions come in on things that
(03:35):
people wrestle with in theirfaith, and so, as those topics
come up naturally through whatwe're studying, I will address
them throughout the year.
Now I want to challenge each ofyou to commit to this series.
Whether you're a lifetimebeliever or just starting to
explore your faith, there'salways more to discover.
The benefits of joining areimmense.
Not only will you gain aclearer understanding of
(03:55):
biblical truths, but you'll alsobe equipped to handle tough
questions about your beliefs.
You'll find your faithstrengthened and your ability to
communicate it more effectivelyenhanced.
To give you a taste, here'swhat some early subscribers have
said about their experiencewith the preview content.
They're saying, man, it'sreally just allowed them to ask
the questions.
They didn't know where to ask.
One person said that they wereexcited to really solidify their
(04:19):
foundation.
They knew a lot about the Bible, but they had never gone back
and really gotten thefundamentals of the faith, and I
hope you'll join us on that.
If you are ready to sign up,visit nick-williamscom slash
newsletter.
Fill out that subscription form.
Once you're signed up, you'llreceive that email that outlines
what to expect as we diveforward into this.
As we launch into this new yearand this exciting series, I want
(04:42):
to thank each of you forjoining me on this journey.
This is more than just aboutlearning.
It's about transforming ourlives through a deeper
understanding of who God is andhow you and I relate to him.
I can't wait to explore theseprofound truths together.
Thank you for tuning in andremember, in faith and learning,
we're always moving beyondSunday into the fullness of life
offered through Christ.
(05:04):
Now, just because I haven'tpodcasted in a little while, in
case you missed it, my newestbook, Be Free, launched January
20th, and so it is fully out.
You can get it off my websiteor you can go to amazoncom and
they sell it there as well, inboth paperback and hard copy.
Would love for you to join meon that journey.
If you've already bought thatbook, would you do me a favor
and jump on Amazon and write areview?
(05:26):
Of course, I would love afive-star review, but any review
, an honest review, is what welook for on Amazon.
It helps more people find thebook.
It brings credibility to thebook.
It allows me to get thatmessage out into more people.
Now I have another book comingout, probably August of this
year I keep saying that, but itmay get pushed a little bit, but
(05:48):
I'm shooting for August Auguston how you and I connect with
God.
How do we take the faith thatwe have?
How do we know that we're notjust hearing our own voice or
the voice of the enemy, butwe're actually hearing the voice
of God when we're praying andmaking decisions?
It's one of those questionsthat comes up constantly in
conversation with me and otherpeople, and so I thought man,
let me just get my heart outthere on this subject and get it
out into a book form, and so Ilook forward to that in the next
year, and so if you havethoughts on that, feel free to
(06:10):
email them to me, shoot me amessage.
Would love to include yourstories or thoughts on how you
connect with God or thechallenges you've had over the
years distinguishing thosevoices, or maybe even how you
found a way to distinguish thosevoices that would help someone
else.
Anyway, glad you're with meUntil next.
