Oakland indie garage punk band Shannon and the Clams bring a vintage twist to modern rock. Their music blends doo-wop, classic R&B, and garage rock with a touch of surf, creating a sound reminiscent of Buddy Holly and 1960s girl groups, but with a punk edge. Their latest album, "The Moon Is In The Wrong Place," was just released in May 2024 and on this episode of Beyond The Boys Club, Shannon Shaw speaks to Anne Erickson about her musical past, losing her fiancé and how he inspired this recent album, and how the industry has changed for women over time.
