SPEAKER_00 (00:00):
Hey sis, welcome
back to the Unmuted CEO podcast,
(00:03):
where faith meets visibility andconfidence meets purpose.
I'm your host, Tammy Maynard,Marpreneur Visibility Coach,
Mama Six, and your sister inthis season of becoming.
Today's episode hits home for somany of us.
How to overcome social anxietyas a Marpreneur.
Because let's be real, walkinginto a room full of confident
(00:24):
business owners when your handsare shaking and your thoughts
are racing.
Yeah, I've been there.
My hands used to tremble sobadly.
I'd hide them.
My heart would pound with oneloud thought.
They all see you as just a momplaying business.
That fear kept my voice small, girl, and my dreams even
smaller.
(00:44):
But here's what I learned.
Confidence isn't a personalitytrait, it's a skill you can
build step by step.
And in this episode, I'm walkingyou through my three-step
confidence CEO method that tookme from terrified to talking
like I belonged in every room Iwalked into.
So grab your journal and let'sget into it, sis.
The battle with anxiety startsin your mind.
(01:07):
Before you ever step into theroom, before you ever open your
mouth, you've got to quiet thatinner critic.
Here's your first assignment.
Grab a notebook and draw a linedown the middle.
On the left side, write theanxious thought.
Something like, I'm not asexperienced as everyone else.
Now, on the right side, reframeit with truth, not faith
(01:29):
positivity, but that.
Your reframe might look likethis.
My journey is different.
And that's my strength.
I bring a unique perspectivethat someone needs to hear.
And sis, let's talk about thatidentity you think is holding
you back, being a mom.
That's not a weakness.
That's your superpower.
Because juggling family andbusiness, that's leadership in
(01:51):
motion, girl.
You're managing crisis, negotiating with toddlers, and
running logistics daily.
That's CEO training on a wholeother level.
So reframe it.
My ability to manage a householdmean I'm built for complex
projects under pressure.
You're not just a mom.
You're a strategist, a nurturer,and a visionary.
(02:14):
All rolled into one.
Now, let's talk about what to dobefore you step into that room.
Click join meeting or walk intothat networking event.
Anxiety is physical, so we needphysical tools.
I call this your pre-meetingritual.
First, grounding.
Do box breathing.
Inhale for four seconds.
(02:34):
Hold for four seconds.
Exhale for four seconds.
Hold for four.
Repeat this four or five times.
You're telling your nervoussystem, I am safe.
I can handle this.
Second, preparation.
Don't screw up what you're goingto say.
That makes you sound robotic andramps up pressure.
Instead, prepare curiosityquestions.
(02:55):
Things like, what's the mostexciting project you're working
on right now?
That's just the focus fromperforming to connecting.
Third, affirmation.
Speak your reframed truth outloud.
I belong in this room.
My voice matters.
My perspective is valuable.
Say it with your chest, sis, because your words shape your
energy, and your energyintroduces you before you even
(03:18):
speak.
Now, before we move into thefinal in the moment strategy, if

want you in that circle.
Alright, let's get into thislast step.
You're in the meeting, yourheart's racing, you feel that
silence getting louder.
Here's the trick.
I call it the speak up earlystrategy.
The longer you sit withouttalking, the more pressure
builds.
So within the first five to tenminutes, say something.
(04:02):
It doesn't have to be profoundor perfect.
You could agree and expand onsomeone's point or ask a
clarifying question.
Like, that's an interestingpoint.
How did you decide to approachit that way?
The goal isn't perfection, it'sparticipation.
The moment you speak, you tellyour brain, see, I can do this.
You move from being an observerto being an active voice.
(04:24):
And that's where confidence isborn in the doing.
So that's the confidence CEOmethod, sis.
Let's recap.
Step one, reframe your thoughts.
Your journey as a mom is notyour limitation.
It's your leadership training.
Step two, use your pre-meetingritual.
Breathe, prepare, step three, speak early and watch your
(04:46):
confidence multiply.
You're not just a mom playingbusiness.
You're a founder, a leader, aCEO.
