SPEAKER_00 (00:03):
The podcast where
faith-driven women in business
come to get unmuted, make boldmoves, and build lives in
businesses that reflect theirGod-given calling.
I'm your host, Pammy Maynard, your visibility coach, Christine
Christ, and CEO Bestie.
And today, we're going to callout one of the sneakiest traps
(00:24):
that holds powerful women likeyou hostage.
The idea that you have to waitfor the perfect time to start.
I want you to settle in on this, sis.
This isn't just anothermotivational episode.
This is a breakthroughconversation that could change
the entire trajectory of yourbusiness, of your faith walk,
and honestly, your life.
(00:47):
Have you ever told yourself,I'll launch my offer when I feel
more confident?
I'll go live once I have theright equipment.
I'll share my story when it'snot so messy.
I'll go all in when the timingfeels right.
Sound familiar, sis?
I know you because I am you andI've been there.
(01:10):
Let's have a real conversationabout how perfectionism,
procrastination, and waiting onthe perfect time will rob you of
your breakthrough if you let it.
We live in a culture that lovesthe highlight reel.
We see women launching, sellingout, showing up, looking
perfect, glamorous and all.
And it feels like they have itall together.
(01:33):
And they're doing something orknow something we don't.
Like maybe they have some secretsauce that you're missing.
But here's the truth there is nosuch thing as the perfect time.
There's only right now.
Let me tell you something I wishsomeone told me years ago.
(01:54):
Perfectionism is just fear inhigh heels.
Yeah, girl.
It's just fear wearing makeup, fancy clothes, pastilettes.
It convinces you that someday issafer than today.
But the only thing guaranteed isright now.
This breath, this season, thislittle corner of the internet
(02:15):
where God has placed you.
That's what's guaranteed.
Let me take you back for aminute.
I remember when I startedsharing my story, I had every
excuse in the book you can evenimagine.
I ain't got time to sit down andplan out.
I don't have the rightbackground.
(02:36):
What are people gonna say?
What will people think of me?
Who am I to talk about business, faith, or anything at all?
Who am I to be a coach?
I had babies at home, dishes inthe sink, God in my heart, and a
tiny following.
(02:57):
I tried recording videos andnever post them.
I had drafts saved up and neverhit published.
The truth is the enemy will usewhatever he can, fear,
overwhelm, comparison, just tokeep you silent.
Because your voice is a threat.
(03:17):
But one day I said, enough isenough.
I hit post, I recorded a video.
I just recorded a low-qualityvideo that I had on my heart.
No filters, no script.
Just honesty.
And do you know what happened?
The very thing I thought wouldmake people run, my mess was
(03:40):
what drew people in.
My inbox, the plane flooded withwomen saying, thank you for
saying what I was afraid to say.
I had many people following me.
I had many people sending merequests to be friends, people
requesting that I be on theirpodcast, that I be in their
(04:03):
magazine.
Just because I was authentic,God uses our obedience, not our
perfection.
That was the main realization Icame to.
Let's talk about ready.
Can I tell you something?
Girl, you will never be 100%ready.
(04:27):
And that's just the God honesttruth.
Not for your first life, not foryour lunch, not for your next
level, not for your firstproduct.
You will always feel that nudge.
What if I fail?
What if I'm judged?
What if I'm not giving up?
What if I don't fail?
(04:47):
What if people don't like me?
What if people talk about me?
What if people unfollow me?
But what if I asked you a betterquestion?
What if my yes is the key tosomeone else's breakthrough?
What if starting right here, right now, is the most powerful
thing I could do for myself andmy family?
(05:09):
The enemy's biggest fear is awoman who moves, even when she's
shaking.
Let's get into the faith piece.
Because you know, I can't dothis without bringing the word.
If you wait for perfectconditions, you'll never get
anything done.
Now that's an ecclesiastic.
(05:36):
Listen, sis, if God called you,he will equip you as you move.
It's like that story in theBible where the priest had to
step into the water before itparted.
The miracle didn't happen whilethey were waiting on the shore.
It happened while they weremoving, stepping out, getting
(05:56):
their feet wet.
Your business, yourbreakthrough.
It's on the other side of amessy, imperfect yes.
I want to get super practical.
You don't need a fancy camera.
You don't need a studio.
You don't need a perfect story.
You don't even need to know howit'll all work out.
(06:17):
You need to start.
That's it.
Here are five things you can dotoday to start.
One, go live just as you are, imperfectly.
Go live on Instagram orFacebook.
Even LinkedIn.
Even if your kids are in thebackground or you're nervous,
(06:40):
share one thing that's on yourheart.
Number two, post your story.
Tell the truth about where youare.
Someone needs to see your real, not your polish.
Number three, invite community.
DM one woman you admire.
(07:02):
Ask her to collab with you.
Connect or just chat.
Number four, drop your offer.
Even if it's not branded, thepeople assigned to you will be
grateful you did.
And lastly, number five, celebrate your win.
(07:23):
Journal, pray, and thank God forevery yes, no matter how tiny.
When I started my membership, girl, I was terrified.
I'm not gonna lie.
I was shaken.
I didn't have it all together.
I'm not tech smart.
I didn't know every single pieceof equipment I needed.
(07:46):
I didn't know every step Ineeded to take.
I didn't have a huge list.
But I had a heart to serve, andI started with what I had.
That small start, it's now asisterhood impact of women all
over the world, all over theglobe.
None of that would have happenedif I waited for perfection.
(08:10):
Here's what I learned, sis.
When you move, God moves.
When you sow, God multiplies.
When you show up, evenawkwardly, you give others
permission to do the same.
Consistency is more powerfulthan intensity.
(08:30):
Faithful tiny steps open bigdoors.
Use an answer to someone'sprayer, and your obedience could
change a generation.
Your small isn't small to God.
Your start is sacred.
Let's take a moment.
Where have you been paralyzed bySunday or when I'm ready?
(08:51):
What have you been waiting tostart?
What is God nudging you to dothat feels a little scary, a
little messy, a little notenough?
I want you to picture yourselfin the future.
Will she thank you for waiting?
Or for being brave enough tobegin?
(09:11):
Don't it almost be your legacy?
Your family, your business, yourcommunity, they need your yes.
Here's what I want you to do.
Pick one thing you've beenputting out because it wasn't
perfect yet.
And do it this week, sis.
Once you do it, I want you totag me at Tammy Mainon
(09:32):
underscore official.
Use hashtag be unmuted so I cancelebrate you and share you with
all my family.
If you allow me to, I want us topray.
Dear God, I pray for everysingle woman listening today.
(09:53):
Give her your courage to move.
To start, to say yes, even whenit's messy.
Remind her that she's neveralone.
That you multiply every boldstep within her.
Help her to see that herimperfect yes is all you need to
(10:15):
do the impossible.
In Jesus' name I pray.
Amen.
