Welcome to Beyond the Dispatch! In this first episode, we introduce your hosts—a firefighter/paramedic and a police officer. Both of us are retiring on duty disabilities, and while we’re closing one chapter of our careers, we’re opening another by telling the stories that often go unheard.

Together, we dive into why this podcast exists: to give first responders, military members, and nurses a space to share their untold stories.

While our mission is to reduce suicide and depression by encouraging open conversations, we’re also here to have a good time, share incredible stories, and highlight the humor, camaraderie, and resilience that come with the job. More than anything, we want to document the men and women who serve our communities—their struggles, their triumphs, and the experiences that define their careers.
