Speaker 1 (00:17):
Welcome to the podcast.
Before we get started, I justwanted to explain that when we
recorded today's episode, therewas something a little wrong
with our audio, so just bearwith us.
It's a short episode.
How long has it been?
It's been almost half a yearsince, I think, you and I had a

(00:37):
chance to sit down and recordsome fresh podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
You know, athletes have a lot of long off seasons,
but this feels even longer.
Hopefully we're not as muchrust to knock off, but man, it's
been too long.
I'm excited.
I'm excited to get back going.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
Yeah, me too.
So there's been a lot that'shappened in our personal lives
over the summer.
And, if you noticed, this isn'tsummer anymore.
We're recording this now inwhat is mid-fall, so we're a
little later than we had plannedon, but sometimes life throws

(01:17):
you a couple of curveballs.
So here we are.
This is a slightly differentepisode than what you might be
used to for our listeners.
We wanted to peel the curtainback a little bit and let you
know on some of the changes thatyou're going to see to the
podcast over the coming months.
Let you know about some of thesecret sauce, the things that

(01:39):
make the stew, so to speak.
So, instead of bringing you thelatest news headlines or an
engaging interview, we just kindof wanted to be a little bit
meta and talk about the podcasta little bit.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
Yeah, in fact a little twist to it.
So this will be called season4.5.
We went between the EasterBunny now it's almost Halloween
in between seasons here ofrecordings, and so we've got a
shortened season for you guys, where you'll get more of Aaron
and I unfortunately, orfortunately, however you want to

(02:13):
see that but we'll mix in somenews a little bit here and there
, a little conversation, topicaltype conversations between the
two of us here in the remaindernext couple of months, as we
still plan and work on seasonfive to be launched in q1 of 25.

Speaker 1 (02:33):
Yeah.
So again, peeling the curtainback a little bit, both Jason
and I we don't do this full time.
That might be news to some ofyou, but both of us work full
time for strategic health carepartners, the producers and
sponsors of this podcast, andsometimes our full time jobs are
just that full time.

(02:53):
So we work on this podcast whenwe're able and with some other
things that happen in our lives, some exciting life changes for
me and my family and to acertain extent for Jason too.
He's in a slightly differentchapter of life than I am, but
it's certainly eaten into any ofthe free time that we had

(03:14):
available.
So, in order for us to fullycook all of the ideas we had for
season five, we realized weneeded a little bit more time,
but we also knew we wereprobably tired of hearing those
reruns.
So what we're going to do forthe next couple of months here,
until at least through the startof the new year maybe just a
little bit past that in season4.5, we're going to bring you

(03:37):
little quick conversations.
Some of those conversations maybe more than five minutes, but
most will be kind of quick andfocused on one or two topics.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
Yeah, and between Aaron and I, like we mentioned,
as we get some subject matterexperts that'll come back on for
a quick conversation, some tipsand tricks, if you will, of
various trades that'll behelpful to everybody.
We will have those on.
So it won't just be Aaron and ICome back on for a quick
conversation, some tips andtricks, if you will, of various
trades That'll be helpful toeverybody.
We will have those on.
So it won't just be Aaron and Iboring you to death every
Wednesday with recordings.
We'll we'll, you know, bringback in some other folks as we

(04:10):
go.
But again to Aaron's point,it's it's been an interesting
offseason.
We also want to be respectfulof where we're recording.
In the southeast, as we wentthrough planning in September
and October, many folks in ourarea where we live, but most
importantly our clients and therural communities and their

(04:31):
families, were and still aredevastated by Hurricane Helene
and Milton, and so we want tomake sure we keep those folks in
our thoughts and prayers.
And obviously that impacted us.
But we were very fortunatemainly just loss of power for a
number of days and water andInternet and that sort of thing.

(04:54):
But fortunately in our areaswhere Aaron and I are and where
SHP's headquartered.
We were blessed, but many folkswere not, and so, as we think
about season 4.5 and beingdelayed, let's keep those folks
also in our thoughts and prayers.
But let's have some fun thesenext couple of months.
In light of all that and Aaronand I will talk more about SHP,

(05:17):
about our jobs We'll bring somefolks in and look forward to an
exciting season five in the fall, or in the winter, rather.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
Yeah, and definitely want to send our thoughts and
our prayers to everybodyaffected by Helene and Milton.
This has proven to be a veryexciting hurricane season, and
not in a good way.
That's, I guess, one of therisks of being here in the
southeast, but certainly nothingthat we've experienced in quite

(05:48):
a long time down here.
But, yeah, looking forward to4.5, again, it's going to be
shorter than usual.
We're not going to have 15,30-minute interviews.
Most of our stuff is going to befocused on a single topic and
we'll have some subject matterexperts to maybe explain a thing
that you've always kind ofwanted to know about.

(06:09):
But speaking of that, and asyou hear this, is there
something you want to know about?
Is there something you want toknow about?
Is there a question of that?
Here you are, you've been alongtime manager or an
administrator of an organizationand you have a question that
you're just kind of just tooafraid to ask.
We'll be more than happy tohelp answer it on the air.

(06:30):
We won't call you out by name, don't worry, but we would love
to answer any questions you have, anything about the health care
industry, or maybe challenge uson some of the thoughts that
we've had and we'd love to hearfrom you, engage with you either
directly or indirectly throughthe podcast.
All of our contact informationis in the show notes.

(06:52):
You can email us, you can callor reach out to us via our
website.

Speaker 2 (06:57):
And we do plan to keep our typical schedule, so
we're not throwing that off aswell.
So that way, every Wednesday, the first thing you can do and
be excited about during hump dayis Aaron's voice with me
chomping in some.
So, as you're listening to this, it'll be the first week of

(07:18):
November.
Ish, halloween's behind us.
Hopefully everybody'sappreciating Thanksgiving and
not skipping right to Christmas, but this is an exciting time of
year and we look forward tobeing a part of it, as usual,
yeah.

Speaker 1 (07:32):
And again, thank you for sticking with us, even
through the rerun period.
That went a little bit longerthan we had planned, but we've
really enjoyed bringing thispodcast to you.
It's something we want tocertainly keep up doing and look
forward to having moreconversations with y'all and
with even with you, jason.
I've enjoyed our times together.

(07:53):
So glad to be on this podcastjourney with you.

listening.
