JUNE 28 - Living with Integrity
3-Year-Bible Reading: Proverbs 19:1-2; Exodus 37-38

“Better is a poor person who walks in his integrity than one who is crooked in speech and is a fool. Desire without knowledge is not good, and whoever makes haste with his feet misses his way.” — Proverbs 19:1-2
“And he made the mercy seat of pure gold. Two cubits and a half was its length, and a cubit and a half its breadth.” — Exodus 37:6
“And he made the bronze basin and its stand of bronze, for washing, with a mirror of bronze from the women of the service, who served at the entrance of the tent of meeting.” — Exodus 38:8

In Proverbs 19:1-2, Solomon highlights the value of integrity. It’s easy to think that wealth and success are the most important things in life, but the Bible tells us that living a life of honesty and integrity is far better than chasing after riches in dishonest ways. A person with integrity values truth, even when it’s hard or unpopular. Integrity doesn’t just mean doing the right thing when others are watching, it’s about having a character that aligns with your beliefs in every situation, whether anyone notices or not.
In Exodus 37-38, we see the Israelites putting their resources into building the Tabernacle. The detailed work shows how each person’s contribution was essential to God’s work, and the craftsmanship was done with excellence and care. Bezalel and Oholiab, for example, were skilled artisans who used their talents for the glory of God. In the same way, we are called to use our gifts and resources with integrity and excellence to honor God, whether we’re serving in the church or at school.
In life, it’s easy to fall into the trap of wanting shortcuts or trying to impress others. However, when we act with integrity—when we choose to do what’s right even when it’s difficult—we show the world that we belong to God. And just like the Israelites building the Tabernacle, when we put in the effort to do things with excellence, we reflect God’s goodness and bring glory to Him.

THINK ABOUT IT
1. Integrity in Action: How do you show integrity in your daily life? Are there areas where you could be more honest or consistent with your values?
2. Using Your Gifts for God: What talents or skills do you have? How can you use them to honor God, both at church and in your everyday life?
3. Avoiding Shortcuts: Have you ever been tempted to take a shortcut or be dishonest to get ahead? How can you stay focused on doing things the right way?

BOTTOM LINE
Living with integrity and using your gifts to serve God brings true fulfillment and honor. Don’t let the pressure of success or shortcuts cloud your desire to walk in honesty and excellence.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of integrity and for showing me how to live with honesty and truth. Help me to honor You in everything I do, whether it’s in my relationships, my work, or the way I use my talents. Give me the strength to do what’s right, even when it’s hard. May my life reflect Your goodness and love to others. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
