JUNE 29 - The Power of Choices

3-Year-Bible Reading: Proverbs 19:3-4; Exodus 39

“When a man’s folly brings his way to ruin, his heart rages against the Lord. Wealth brings many new friends, but a poor man is deserted by his friend.” — Proverbs 19:3-4

“And they made the holy garments for Aaron, as the Lord had commanded Moses.” — Exodus 39:1

“And they did all the work of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting; and Moses saw all the work, and behold, they had done it; as the Lord had commanded, so had they done it. Then Moses blessed them.” — Exodus 39:32

Proverbs 19:3-4 warns us about the consequences of foolish decisions and how they affect our lives. It’s easy to blame others or God when things go wrong, but the Bible teaches that our own choices can lead to our downfall. We may be tempted to blame bad circumstances on God or others, but ultimately, our own decisions have a lot to do with where we end up. Choosing to follow our impulses and desires can often lead to disappointment and heartache. On the other hand, choosing wisdom leads to better outcomes.

In Exodus 39, we see the Israelites carefully crafting the holy garments for Aaron, following God's instructions down to the last detail. They did all the work as God had commanded, and their obedience resulted in the Tabernacle being built exactly as God wanted it. This attention to detail and obedience shows how every choice we make, no matter how small, matters. Our choices can either bring us closer to God's perfect plan or lead us further away.

The Israelites didn’t just stumble into creating the Tabernacle; they made intentional choices to follow God's guidance. Similarly, we must choose wisely in our daily lives, especially in the decisions we make that may seem insignificant. Each choice matters in shaping our future and bringing us closer to God's will.

The choices we make—big or small—have a direct impact on our lives and our relationship with God. Choosing wisdom, following God’s guidance, and being intentional in our actions lead us toward His perfect plan.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of wisdom and the opportunity to make choices that align with Your will. Help me to make decisions that honor You and lead to a life that reflects Your love and truth. Guide me in every step I take, and remind me of the importance of my choices in shaping my future.
