Why does Capitalism exist? Should it be reimagined? How do we define opportunity equality? Is American democracy at stake? Host Craig James is joined by Peter Georgescu, Chairman Emeritus of Young & Rubicam. Peter has a gripping life story. While growing up in Romania he was arrested along with his brother and grandmother and was sent to a work camp. He was only ten years old at the time. His family was victim of the Iron Curtain and the oppression of the Soviet Union (USSR). Fortunately, in 1954 he was rescued by the intervention of Congresswoman Frances Payne Bolton and President Eisenhower.  Peter has seen the worst of oppression as well as the fruits of Capitalism—becoming a successful ad executive in New York. With his range of experiences, Peter reflects on what he believes to be both the “good versions" and “bad versions" of Capitalism—and asserts that things can be much better than they are today. Peter's current work on Stakeholder Capitalism has been driven by his past—yet is intended to catalyze significant change for our collective future. Listen in.
