Hello and welcome to Big Gay Energy.
I'm Caitlin. And I'm Fiora.
Come along with us while we diveinto the fun and nuances of
queer media. Representation matters.
And we're here to talk about it.Cheers, queers.
What's on the big agendas today,Fiora?
Today we are gonna be discussingSomewhere somehow, Volume to by

(00:29):
Mon Ma. So welcome back to our second
book club of this epic tale. This is the second installment.
If you've missed Volume 1, go back and listen to that.
Now we're gonna dive into Volume2.
We're getting our Idol Factory show soon.
We have an actual date, August 8th, so it's not too long from

(00:50):
when you're getting this recording.
I cannot wait. I can't wait either.
Are you excited? Let us know in the comments.
Yes, please. We we want to know everybody
who's just anxiously waiting their show for their show as
much as we are. Yes.
Also, I feel like we should really mention that we are in
the same room even though it doesn't look like it.

(01:13):
I can stare at Theora in her eyes right now, right?
And it's beautiful and amazing and I and I love it so much.
Yes, so special day to talk about a special, special topic.
If you're new here, hello and welcome.
Like I mentioned, there's a volume 1 discussion of Somewhere
Somehow that we recorded. Go check that out.

(01:34):
Also, if you're into somewhere somehow, we reacted to the
pilot. So that is on YouTube and a
highlight reel and in the full glorious reaction on Patreon.
If you're into book clubs for Thai girl love novels, we did
The Loyal Pin both Volume 1 and 2, and in the future we're going
to do Cranium. So you have that to look forward
to, which will be our next book club.

(01:56):
So if there's anything else you'd like us to do in a book
club format or we kind of go over it like this, let us know
in the comments. Yes, 'cause.
We will do it. We will do it.
We will find time. We'll figure it out.
We want to hear from you. What are you reading?
What are you into? What do you want us to do next?
All right. So with that, shall we get into

(02:17):
volume to of somewhere somehow? Yes, we have been dying to talk
about this, so let's do it. You sure have.
All right, so this novel, like the first one, was also
translated by Bonbon Pitch into English.
So thank you, thank you, thank you for translating.
This was an awesome translation.Epic job.
You deserve an award for translations.

(02:38):
That's the thing. It's so good.
So I want to give a quick synopsis of what Volume 2 is
about. So here we go.
This is the epic conclusion of Kiran Peem and Pox Tale.
The story picks up after Peem completes her father's last
request earn her college degreesabroad before taking over the
company named ABCD. I think Mama truly ran out of

(03:01):
things to describe and was just like, whatever anyway.
Pym steps into her role as vice president at the at a business
venture in Japan rather than immediately run to Thailand.
Returning to Thailand to avoid running into a certain someone,
much to Pym's annoyance, said certain someone is heading to
the company's operations in Japan and was instructed to
serve as her mentor at her father's request.

(03:22):
Reuniting with Peem does not go as Kieran hoped, so she calls in
POC for reinforcement. Will it all work out?
Only one way to find out. That's somewhere, somehow.
Volume 2. That, that was amazing.
It was beautiful. POC is the best reinforcement
ever. She sure is.
So that was our non spoiler review of what's gonna happen.

(03:45):
If you want to watch the series first and don't want to be
spoiled, please don't listen to any more of this 'cause we're
gonna spoil literally everythingthat happens in the Don't.
Listen to the first one either. Don't listen to the.
First one either, yeah, no. We tell you everything.
If you know our podcast, we tellyou everything in detail.
Super detail. Although I'm not confident in 12
episodes, if that's what they get for the series, that IO

(04:06):
Factory can literally cover everything in this book.
There's no way. I mean, it's a lot.
It's a lot. It it's a lot, and that's every
book adaptation. Absolutely.
So we don't expect that, but there are some things that we
are hoping of being there, rightand you'll know that.
You're definitely gonna know. And then we have some stills
from set. So some things are definitely
gonna happen that we know so far, 'cause, you know, the pilot

(04:28):
is a pilot and the show is the show.
But so far they've been at this time that we're filming this.
They're still filming. I don't think filming has
wrapped up and they just released the date for the
premiere. So I assume first few episodes
are edited. I would hope so.
They should be wrapping up soon.So we have some stills and we'll
talk about those. But before we jump into the book
club, just quick disclaimer. All hosts in attendance of the

(04:51):
Big Energy podcast episode are not fluid in the Thai language,
nor are we members of this culture or residents of part of
the world in which this novel takes place.
Therefore, we are limited in ourperspective on this piece of
media and cannot analyze it without our Western American
life experiences and biases. We did our best to reach our
Thai culture and Japan because there's some Japan stuff in here

(05:11):
and put this in the context, butwe are not experts on the topic
and wanted to be transparent about that before going any
further. So if you notice anything that
we fuck up, just let us know in the comments you.
Will, but yes, please let us know, OK?
Shall we just dive into the bookclub?
Yes, we have so much to talk. About we sure do.
OK, so first I just want to start with comparing volume 1

(05:32):
and volume to just like quick thoughts I had about how the
books were similar and different.
So Volume 1 was mostly from Kieran's point of view, like
choose the main person whose head you're in.
And then there's like a couple of chapters from like Peem,
there's like a POC chapter and aside chapter, but it's mostly
Kieran. Volume to I thought was a lot

(05:52):
more balanced between Kieran Peem and it alternated a lot
between the two. And I mean, there were other
characters in there as well, butI thought that was good because
it gave better insight into how everything went down in Volume 1
was affecting Peem because you kind of are like the outsider
for like what's going on in Peem's head because you're he's
ridiculous head for like Volume 1.

(06:15):
Yeah, you don't get as much of like the reasoning behind Peem's
actions in Volume 1. Yeah, or how she feels.
Yeah. You get her actions of her like
being jealous as fuck all the time, but you don't get her.
This is how I feel that I can't and like the self-awareness that
she's behaving irrationally 'cause you do get that in this
volume where she's like, I don'tknow why, but I have this urge

(06:37):
to do this. So you kind of get more of a
whole whole picture about Peem. So I thought that was a smart
choice for Monmouth to do more point of view alternating
between those two in this volumespecifically.
So it kind of gives me hope thatwhen Idle Factory adapts this,
it'll be more of almost an ensemble, I hope, because there

(07:00):
were multiple point of views in these books.
And then POC has more of her ownstoryline going on in Volume 2.
So I'm like kind of hoping that will be more of an independent
storyline. Yes, it's going to revolve
around Key and PM obviously, butI'm kind of hoping Out of
Factory will dip a toe into likeEnsemble Land with the story.

(07:21):
I mean first of all, not just POC but Lucknum deserves to have
more focus yes as well. Obviously.
Let's just be giving them everything she's got.
Everything. And she's so good.
And POC is a huge, huge major part of these both of the books.
Yes, but like, literally this. I'm so glad that she really grew

(07:42):
into her own character in this book.
Yeah, no, it was really lovely. And I just.
Yeah, I'm, I'm hoping we will finally get an Idle Factory show
that's more of an ensemble than anything they've done before.
I'm not expecting GMMTV ensemble, I just mean more of an
ensemble where like POC will have scenes about POC that don't

(08:02):
revolve around Key and Peeam. Fingers crossed everyone, that's
what we're hoping for. The last thing I just wanted to
note when comparing them, which is something I wasn't expecting,
was that volume 2 was somehow more unhinged than volume 1.
More is an. Understatement.
It was so unhinged. Like in an epic way that has

(08:23):
solidified MA and Ma as a legendforever.
First of all, she self inserts herself into the novel and we'll
get there when we get there. If you haven't read this it's
glorious and Idle Factory betterfucking leave this in cuz this
was so unhitched. Yes.
Blah blah. Deserves to be.
Name dropped. I exactly, I want it so badly.
And then the special chapters atthe end, so unhinged cause

(08:48):
usually like in most high girl love novels that I've read,
usually the special chapters arelike point of views from the non
point of view characters of stuff that has happened.
Like for example Affair from Chow was written mostly by
playing's point of view. So at the end you get Juan
Viva's take on stuff and so you get inside her head for a little

(09:09):
bit to see how she's feeling andthings like that.
This was so unhinged and had nothing to do with any of that.
So like we'll get there at the end, but it was so unhinged it.
Was so it was definitely an example of mama's like, I can do
what I want, they'll read it. Literally, she's like, I'm gonna
do whatever the fuck I want. And the way she ended this, it
was so epic. So if you happen to have read

(09:30):
these novels and you didn't readthe special chapters, first of
all, in Volume 1, the special chapters at the end are part of
the plot. Like, they're not these extra
little stories. Like the whole deal between
Kieran and team's dad happens ina special chapter and that's
like sets up Volume 2. So it's like actually really
important to read her special chapters in that book 'cause

(09:50):
it's just like a continuation ofthe story.
It's not really special, this one.
They're special 'cause they're just unhinged things I could
have never anticipated in my life.
She ends the book with a questionnaire.
Like interviewing her own characters.
Like, it's insane. Like, it's so wild.
Called interview with the characters.
Literally it's what it and I read that cuz I read all the

(10:12):
special chapter titles that leadto.
Someone here and I. Was just looking at them and I'm
like what? Yeah, it's amazing.
It's and that's what it's more unhinged when you read it.
Yeah, it's so VR. Got to the first special chapter
before me and she's like you'll know when you get there.
But also with Mon Ma special chapters in general.

(10:33):
I've only read the Mon Ma books for Thai shows that's getting
adapted into Thai shows and it seems like her special chapters
really do give a lot more plot and background into Cuz you Got
the Pad. Storyline Pad storyline.
Oh my God. And that was like, I feel it's

(10:54):
so important to the book and theshow because you don't
understand what's going through her head unless you've read that
chapter. So much better if you read that
chapter. Oh my God, idol.
Factory did a good job of adapting it in a short amount of
time, but like, Oh my God, that was beautiful, yes.
Thank you, Mama. Thank you.
Just thank you, Mama. I know our.

(11:15):
Legend, this was amazing. We would love to talk to you.
Oh. My God, we love you so much to
us. OK, now in honor of Manma, let's
jump into Volume 2. So that's just the setup.
So the beginning of volume to picks up with Peem seven years
later after Volume 1 technicallyends.

(11:36):
So this stage, Peem has graduated from her UK education
with her master's degree, and she's at the end of taking a gap
year because she's avoiding going back to Thailand basically
because Ki which. And her dad miraculously agrees
to it. And P notices she's like, wow,
my dad has not been interfering with my life nearly as much and

(11:56):
I can make my own decisions. So she like notices his
behavior, which is our hint thatseven years later, he's holding
up his deal with Karen. And he wasn't just like, yeah,
Ki, whatever. And then he like ignored her.
Like he's holding up his end of this bargain.
Like some fathers we know in these stories would.
Yeah. Or, you know, yeah, exactly.
And so Pim has a conversation with her dad when she's like,

(12:19):
'cause like, he's president of the company.
Basically, she's gonna step in as, like, you know, VP and then
take over eventually. And so he's like, wants her to
get into the business. That's like why he sent her to
the UK. So he's like having this
conversation with her at the beginning.
And he's like, Are you sure you don't wanna come back to
Thailand? She's like, I don't know.
I don't know if I'm ready for that and blah, blah, blah.
And like, the dead basically is like, he knows why she's

(12:39):
avoiding Thailand. And so he's worried.
He's like, damn team, I thought you'd be feeling better at this
point. It's been seven years and Peem
in her head gets real defensive. And it's like, of course he
doesn't understand, like what I went through.
And she describes the heartbreakshe's experiencing over key as
quote, a scar that left a deep long mark, which I thought was a

(12:59):
good way to describe it. So it's, it's basically where
Peem's at is like, she's healingbut not fully healed.
And Peeam, in a way views it as this weakness that she's
determined to, like, never succumb again.
So like, the scar tissue is finally like connected.
She doesn't want it to break open.
So like, she feels vulnerable ifshe goes back to Thailand and is
confronted with everything that happened basically before she

(13:22):
left. So while her dad's like, OK, I
really want you to start taking over the company.
He's like, OK, how about we easeyou into this?
So instead of you coming back toThailand to formally take over,
why don't we have your debut happen in Japan?
That way, it's like a baby step. You can start working and then
build some confidence, come back.
He's like, there's a new project.
We're opening up a new factory over there.

(13:42):
You can go oversee it. I already have a team.
It's being headed up by the, quote, production engineer team
lead. And like, you can learn a lot
from this person. And Gee, I wonder who that could
be? I wonder, I wonder cuz if you've
read the special chapters in volume 1, you'll know that key
got a job at the company and she's a fucking gadget here.

(14:05):
So, so in so that's, that's the setup of how this is gonna
start. And then P also notes that, you
know, she's she's trying to moveon from Key with her love life,
not with her fiance, whom she still has.
By the way. It's been 7 years that
apparently Peem is still engagedto Pun but avoids him at all

(14:29):
costs for seven years. And truly, I don't fully
understand this, and maybe this is some kind of cultural thing I
just can't grasp, but why stay in an unhappy engagement for
seven years when your fiance is clearly of what are you like
from Pun's? Point of view, all right, so
Pun's point of view. Team I understand.
That makes sense. I mean, pun, I, I think it's

(14:51):
just. He's delusional, he's
delusional. He has his own point of view
chapter and like we get his point of view on this whole
thing later. So like I don't really mean him
in general, but this comes up a lot in Thai shows.
Like Kirk and Sam were like theywere engaged for 500 years and
Sam never gave him the time of day and gap the series, but yet

(15:12):
yet Kirk was still there. It's like why are these men like
holding on to these women that don't want them so fiercely?
Like nobody wins in that scenario.
If it's just a fact, like, oh, maybe one day it will happen and
then I will marry into this power and the money and.
Yeah, like I think the men are drinking delusion juice when it

(15:33):
comes to these women. And like, I just, I mean, she's
a Pretty Woman, but like, it's seven years and like, that's a
long time to be unhappy, you know, like voluntarily.
But anyway, just that keeps coming up as a plot point.
It's the only reason I'm bringing it up.
So if it's it's something cultural I'm missing, like
please clue me in. Just I understand we get his

(15:54):
point of view. I was just like, damn boy, seven
years, Sir. But anyway, unsurprisingly, P
knows that pun because he's unhappy is seeing other women
and she knows that and it's coolwith it because she mentioned
she's like, well, I tried movingon by quote letting other men
approach approach me like I didn't have a fiance.
So she's basically like, I'm single, I guess.

(16:16):
And then let them kiss her. So she's tried dating basically,
if like men approached her, not her seeking out somebody kind of
thing. And maybe if she was let women
approach her, this man turned out differently.
Like who knows? Seriously, though, we don't know
PIM. We'll never know.
And that's fine. But I'm just saying I'm.

(16:38):
Not upset about that. Just saying.
OK, so then PIM arrives in Japanand her assistant that she's
given is giving her the rundown of the situation as she's like
being rushed into a meeting that's already happening.
And the assistant reinforces that the engineering team is in
charge and that team is going tobe here for three months.

(17:00):
And we're very closely with the head of engineering.
So we definitely are going to get them filming in Japan.
So we've already gotten some stills of the cast members that
are going to be in Japan, so that's really fun.
How long did you say that they were filming there for?
I believe it was 10 days. Yeah, which is really cool.
So I was always wondering, I'm like, man, are they going to
build sets and this and that? No, they actually went to Japan

(17:20):
for this part. So that's going to be really
exciting. OK, so back to the meeting.
So of course the person in charge of this whole fucking
thing is Key. And then PM describes how she
feels after seeing Key. So it's been 7 years.
She was devastated. Now she sees Key and then in
her, in her monologue says that deep, long scar in my heart
instantly transformed into a fresh wound as if it had just

(17:43):
been inflicted moments ago. And truly, it really hurt just
to read that sentence because poor Peem.
It really seems like in the seven years Peem was existing
but not living right. She was like, people approached
me and I kind of went along withit until I was like, absolutely
the fuck not. She was, like, going to school

(18:03):
and she just seemed, like, dead inside, basically, and just,
like, grinding through her degrees, basically.
Yeah. And then, like, so then by that
definition, people in that stateusually are having, like, mild
emotion. This is when she's, like, healed
enough to function because in the special chapters in Volume
1, you have her, like, devastated, like, crying herself

(18:25):
to sleep over a key. And then eventually she had to,
like, learn to function. So I imagine her feelings were a
lot more muted. Now here she is.
And like, the first sign of lifethat she has and the first big
emotion she has since Key's disaster birthday seven years
ago is heartbreak all over again.
And it's like, that was the thing Peem was trying to avoid
by not going to Thailand becauseshe didn't feel she was ready.

(18:46):
So like, I felt really bad for Peem.
Yeah, but someone knew that that's what she was avoiding.
So that's why. Because he he took out the
Thailand. Yeah, the dad took out the
Thailand factor. So now they're both not on like

(19:09):
an even playing field. So they're both in a new
environment. So he's like, just shove.
You there the dad we get the dad's point of view later or he
explains kind of like what happened, but he like he like
everybody in her life that knowswhat's happening basically is
like he is the cause and solution to this problem.

(19:30):
So he's like it's been 7 years you're still not over key.
You're never gonna be over key. So like let's get these two back
together. It's basically the dad ships
them like so hard. He might be the hardest shipper
until we get to. Key as families.
Actually, POC's the hardest. Ship around.
No, yeah, I, I that was. Wrong.
That was wrong. I.
Have a note saying he's rivalingrival rivalry.

(19:52):
Whatever rivalrying. Rivalrying, yes.
Whatever that word is. Word man rivalrying POC's
shipping for like epic, most shipping for their relationship.
None of that sentence came out right, but you understand what
I'm saying. It it's amazing and like, again,
if you just read volume 1, you don't like super expect it.

(20:13):
But like the dad ships them super hard.
So Peem is like absolutely the fuck not.
She's like, change the person who's supposed to train me.
I'm not doing this. I don't care if Ki is the
youngest department head in the company's history, which
honestly, like it speaks volumesto how much Ki was working in
the background during the seven years.
Like she was also like bare headto head in the sand working

(20:35):
super hard. She got promoted, the Peem's
like fuck that, I don't care. And then the assistant's like,
listen, your dad set this up andthen Peem's like OK fine, I'll
do it for my dad. So I thought this was
interesting because in the past,Peem fought against her father's
wishes a lot when they conflicted to what she wanted.
So but now, like she said, my dad is treating me more like a

(20:58):
human being on and making letting me make my own decisions
versus trying to control what I do.
She's less resistant to his requests, even when that request
is actively breaking her heart. So I thought that was a moment
of growth for Peem because we'regoing to see in volume to that
in their separation. Peem and Key both really like
grew as people and ultimately like that makes their

(21:20):
relationship better in the end because Peem learned things like
patience, compromise, more empathy when she's upset.
I think emotional intelligence, I guess, is a better way to say
that. And then like Key, like learned
courage. She doesn't just run away from
shit to like she's more assertive.

(21:40):
And so like they they, they're more like whole people because
of this experience that they went through.
And like, let's be real. The other part of Peem is like,
I missed Key. You want to be around her.
Like no matter how much her inner mouth looks like fuck that
hoe. Like she wanted to.
She wanted to see her. Like, let's be honest, like
she's. Curious.
Seven years. Let's let's be honest.

(22:00):
I mean yes, because how can you not want to see key?
Like, I know she's upset, she didn't want to, but here we are.
And so team's a whole last line when she's doing that.
She's trying to tell herself shedoesn't want to.
She's trying. To protect herself.
Yeah. OK, So then that was catching up
with Pee in the beginning. And then then the book switches

(22:21):
to Key's point of view, and we kind of catch up with the what's
going on with Key. And she's also completely
heartbroken in the beginning andreally devastated when she
witnesses just how much Peem hates her when they are
reunited. Because like, basically from
Key's point of view, she's like,I'm going to go through this and
be super patient. I'm going to put up with what
her dad said so that Peem can have what she wants in the end.

(22:43):
She may not choose me and like, I'm cool with that, but she's
probably not cool with that. And then here's Peem being like,
fuck you. So like, poor Key.
That's like rubbing salt in her wound as well.
And she knew that this was a huge risk when making this deal,
of course. But luckily, and as we've talked
about, the dad definitely playeda part in getting these two back

(23:06):
together because he shifts them. And he was actually told a week
before that PEM would be coming to learn from her, which meant
that Ki had a week to prepare herself for this meeting,
whereas P was blindsided by seeing Ki again.
And I think that was, I mean, I don't even know if she would

(23:27):
show up in the 1st place if she knew which I think they both
knew that. That's why I didn't tell her.
But at the same time, that's insane.
I don't know if it would be better to just like throw them
both in there and not know, but it just 'cause I feel bad.
I think the dad's like, he says it later when we get his point
of view about when he eventuallywill talk to Peen and tell her

(23:48):
everything. And part of his rationale for
sending her away, she's like, you were so stubborn, you
wouldn't listen to anybody. So I think he's worried she'd be
stubborn. That's why she's not coming back
to Thailand. He's like, I just need to do
this because she's not going to do it on her own.
She's going to be really stubborn.
She. Would never have gone to Japan
if she knew. But it's like, what if Key
didn't know either? What if they were both
blindsided by this moment right now anyway?

(24:10):
But while the meeting that he was told this by Peem's dad, he
says In the past, I underestimated Peem's feelings,
thinking it was just puppy love,a teenager's phase.
But I was wrong. It's not that at all.
Even now that she says she's better, I can tell she's not the
same, not even a little since you could hurt her that much.
You're the only one who could heal Peem's heart, and I'm just

(24:33):
that that's what he says, and I'm just impressed that we are
getting a dad who can actually see that his daughter is hurting
and not pretend it doesn't exist.
Yes. Because yes, that's a good
point. It's not his best interest.
He really does have his daughter's best interests at
heart. He has one way to think, but
he's not set in that way either. If he can be proved wrong, he

(24:55):
will accept that and continue with the path that has been
proven to be more beneficial. That's true, which is also so a
sign of a great businessman. Yeah, that's true.
He is willing to compromise and change his mind.
That's a really, really good point.
But also he's like, I love how much he does metal where he puts

(25:15):
them in adjacent rooms. And he's like, listen, you're
gonna get over yourselves at some point, Pam.
I'm just gonna make this real easy.
So if you wanna go in Kieran's room, you can't.
But also she could be stubborn and try to stay in her room if
it's literally right next to shewon't be able to stop thinking
that about key that is literallyright behind that wall.

(25:36):
He knows her really well. That's the thing.
It's not like like the Grand Manand Sam situation where she's
like, fuck you, Sam, you're going to do what I say because
I'm the queen or whatever. I don't care how much pain
you're in. I'll just ignore it.
Or like, she did that to both sisters.
She's just a big nun too. She's like, I don't care how sad
you are. It doesn't matter when I say
goes, I'm the queen. This dad is like, I really need

(25:59):
you to get this education so that you're prepared to do this
and not overwhelmed. And I know it's going to suck
and like, this probably wasn't the best way to go about it, but
what's done is done. And like, I'm going to make it
up to you. I'm going to get you your love
back. And so he's like, I'm going to
do all the things even though I know you're a stubborn ass and.
Stubborn ass. I love you.

(26:19):
But yeah, he's he. He does know.
He notices that she's not happy.And he's like, it's been 7 years
PM and you're still like, not OK.
So like, he's like, we gotta fucking change this shit.
I wonder if he's just like Japan.
Type of a. Factory and they're like what?
He got this factory. Really funny if there was no

(26:41):
factory and they like staged this whole thing and it was
even. Weirder.
Like, Oh my gosh. It's literally just for peeing.
I'm like, I feel like her dad isthe type of person that would do
that, where he's like, I just need her to be happy again.
He would do everything in his power to make her happy.
So he he does acknowledge that like he was wrong in his methods

(27:01):
and that he he cares more about her than like what he wants,
which is huge. And that's a a good parent.
Despite this fuckery that goes down.
Like I like how it's resolved. It's resolved in a very like
we've reflected on the past. We've done fucked up.
Let's move forward, which is a good way to handle shit 'cause

(27:25):
you can't change the past. You could be mad about it
forever, but then like then what?
You're just mad and not living And like, we got to move on and
heal. That's kind of what this is
about. This would be a good GMMTV story
because it's like us. It's like we let's move on and
heal from the past. That's kind of what Volume 2 is
about. But he knew this from the very
beginning. She only made this deal because

(27:45):
he she knew that he wouldn't getto this place without without
seeing all this happen as well. Without Keys devoted love of his
daughter. I think that was the thing where
he's like, huh, do you love her more than me?
That's bullshit. Like maybe that changed his
mind. Maybe he's just as competitive
as his daughter. Yeah.
But let's go back to the adjacent room thing, because

(28:06):
there was some hilarity whateverthat ensued from that.
Of course there is, because whenteam realizes that their doors
that their rooms are right next to each other, she goes into her
room, slams the door and starts screaming in her room.
And Key's lying is hilarious. She's like, for crying out loud,
how am I supposed to tell Peem that room isn't well sound for.

(28:27):
Her. It's the best.
I love Keith and her monologue is still one of my favorite
things of all time. I'm gonna miss it in the show
but Oh my God it's so fucking funny.
She's gonna have to mumble things out loud as.
When I'm stopping. Or just talking we have.
To have it somehow because all the most of the humor actually
is like the internalized. Thoughts.
They're so funny. Pock's thoughts too.

(28:48):
All of their thoughts. But like Pock.
And Pock's the most unhinged. He is the most ridiculous.
Peem's the most angry. He was just anger and horny
thoughts. That's kind of all Peem has gone
on her brain. She's angry or horny or both.
Speaking of horny thoughts, not on Pee's Pee's level, but he

(29:10):
does a terrible job of covering up seeing something when Peem's
robe dips too low. So I don't remember exactly but
I believe Key like knocks on PM's door trying to get her out
to the meeting. In the morning, yeah.
And PM doesn't think and just immediately opens the door and
the robe is just hanging too lowand and key says I didn't see

(29:32):
anything. Nothing at all.
No chest, no cleavage, not even the pink lace nightgown.
I didn't see anything and this is purely her trying to convince
herself that she didn't see anything because there's no way
that's convincing now because you literally just described the
nightgown. No, it's amazing.
I love. Key.
Which Piedmont's I'm level was fine with because she only wants

(29:53):
Key to look at her. But also we will come to find
out Key is a boob girl. So this was yes yes yes good for
you Key. Hydrate for Key and her
thirstiness. Is there enough water?
For her thirsty, there really isn't.
All right. And then we transition into and
they were coworkers. So there are then several
chapters of tension and flirtingthat ensue, and Idle Factory's

(30:17):
gonna eat this shit up, as they should because this is where
Faye may truly XLS actors because they have the tension
down and the will they won't they shit.
These scenes are going to be epic.
Like this is their strength as an acting pair.
So I'm very excited to see how they do this part in this series
because those actors are made for this particular part.

(30:39):
I don't believe I've seen these two act together.
Outside of the. Part yeah, outside of like I've
never seen these two outside thepilot so I'm excited to just see
what their capabilities are in Imean the pilot was amazing so.
Yeah, Kayla didn't watch My Marvelous Dream As You, and
like, My Marvelous Dream as You is 90% of just tension.

(31:00):
And like, they're so good at it,so this is gonna be epic.
So let's get into one scene thatI love.
So they end up going to that meeting after Key gets a glimpse
of all that skin and they get trapped in an elevator and it
goes as well as you can possiblyimagine at this stage, but poor

(31:20):
Key. So you think about Key.
So poor Key has been dying the CPM for seven years despite all
the bullshit. And she's so desperate that she
just stares at PM because she's like right there.
And she's like, wow, PM's more beautiful than I even remember
because it's been 7 years. Like they're not kids anymore.
They're like full ass adults. And PM is like dressed to be the
VP. So it's like glow up PM and poor

(31:43):
Ki's little heart, it's just going like crazy because like,
there she is, but then you can'ttouch her and she wants to kill
you and like all this kind of stuff.
And Peem rightfully tells her tofuck off because she's
heartbroken. And poor Key just blurts out,
it's been so long, can I look atyou a bit?
I miss you. And Peem has all these confusing
feelings. She's just like, what the fuck
is this? Like, you're the reason we're in

(32:04):
this situation. So PEM tries to set clear
boundaries. She's like, look, Ki, you broke
my heart in a million pieces. We are not close.
You can't call me PEM. Like, no nicknames from you.
We are coworkers and that's it. And so they have to agree on how
to address each other. And basically, Ki grudgingly
agrees to call her AVP. And she's like, OK, I'll call

(32:25):
you that and not PEM. But then you have to call me
Sensei. Sensei, since we're in Japan and
that's a Japanese mentor. And then she's like, since I'm
your mentor, I get to boss you around now.
Which is objectively hilarious and true because she's
mentoring. Yeah.

(32:46):
But what I noticed is I'm like, OK, that's kind of like the
first hint from Key that their dynamic is now shifting at this
stage of adulthood. Because in Volume 1, Peem was
bossing Key around constantly. And like, bossing Key and POC by
extension around with all of herlike, threats.
And then in volume to Key steps into more of an assertive role,

(33:07):
starts at work and then it bleeds into their like
relationship as they start like becoming more familiar and
spending time with each other again.
So I like that it shows that they they grew as people And
like, here's the first hint of that.
Cuz Peem's like, wow, she's being assertive.
That's weird cuz Key's not. Usually assertive, they grew,
but they're still their same dorky, nerdy self.

(33:30):
Childhood. And it's fucking great and I
love it. OK, so while we're in Japan, we
meet a few we we meet a bunch ofnew characters, but the one
we're gonna highlight is the Japanese.
The Japanese interpreter, the secretary.
Yummy. She comes in full.
Force. She sure does.
And Pem's We're seeing her through Pem's point of view.

(33:52):
She's meeting this woman for thefirst time, and Pem's first
description is she's got an alluring look full of sex
appeal. So as you can imagine, that's
not gonna go wrong with Peem, who hates anybody who looks at
Key, even if she wants to kill Key.
And it doesn't help that this woman is a humongous flirt who
likes to flirt with Key. That's an understatement, too.

(34:13):
OK, if she throws herself. Oh my gosh.
Constantly like. Too much, especially for a
workplace. Listen, I know it's so
unprofessional, Peem, this is your company.
Actually it's not. They're at the Japanese company.
But who knows. Anyway, so PEM witnesses yummy
flirting with keeb and that ignites the furnace of PEM's

(34:36):
jealous raging because some things never change.
Honestly. OK, but I love from this meeting
is when she first meets this woman and like basically they're
like in the middle of the board room.
OK, when she first meets yummy, I think it's yummy and not Yumi.
I guess I was. Reading it as Yumi.
I guess we'll find out. I think yummy sounds funnier to

(34:57):
me because like. At one point she's a snack.
Yeah, cuz they do have that conversation later and then it's
like yummy. Maybe it is Yumi, I don't know.
I could be saying it wrong, I have no idea.
Who knows? Give us your thoughts in the
comments. We'll also find out when we
watch the series. Too.
Unless they change your name. All right, so they're in this

(35:18):
boardroom having a meeting as Peem's giving us these thoughts.
And she says in her inner monologue even before the
meeting started, there is no need for her to go over the
documents with Kieran one-on-oneand face to face.
And by face to face, I mean Kieran's small face in the face
of Yummy's twin mountain breasts.
I died. I died.

(35:38):
I know and he's a boob girl so we know.
This is also not good and. Peem also knows that, yes.
So this is this is a lot. This is a lot this woman is
competition, so sighs out of thepicture in volume to basically
other than they have to clear the air about what happened.

(36:00):
So this is the new like woman who's actually a threat to Peem?
I'm kind of glad that it's not Sigh again.
Like basically bring that back, yeah.
Cuz like that would have. Been too much of A fresh moon.
Well, that and also like in reallife, you leave high school, you
leave college and some people you never see again.
And that's that's real life. But like she, this is a funny

(36:21):
character. So I'm kind of glad they're just
like, we've move on. We're adults.
Here's the adult threat, a voluptuous woman who's very
flirty. Too.
Flirty, honestly. I mean, it's great.
So little by little, Key, everybody falls back into their
old habits and Key takes out PEMfor like a business lunch.
And it's like PEM's first time in Japan.

(36:44):
So things are a little bit different.
And she's like already frustrated because Key is here
and they're having lunch and like she orders fish and PEM
doesn't eat it at 1st and Key's like, what's wrong?
And then PEM's like frustrated and she's like, there's too many
bones so she can't like it's just struggling with the
chopsticks. So without saying anything, he
takes the plate and then concentrates with all of her

(37:06):
might to like debone this fish for Peem.
And remember in volume 1, like Key's concentration face is the
thing that drew in Peem to Key in the 1st place when Key was
like doing POC shoelaces when they were kids.
And Peem's like wow, the concentration on that girl's
face. I'm into that.
So this sparks Teem's old feelings to resurface and she
admits to herself in this momentthat she was happy to see Key

(37:29):
but quote, my bottled up emotions resurfaced, pushing me
to say what I knew would hurt her.
So I again, I like that we get Peem's point of view because we
get her inner monologue like this where she knows she's being
irrational but she can't controlit.
And that's like how strong emotions are sometimes.
Or she's like, Oh yeah. But then she's like, you hurt
me. So she's still being very
defensive. And I don't think Peem

(37:51):
understand. She's instinctively trying to
protect herself. Because if you think about it,
when she was she was in England.I mean, her sister is there for
part of it. But like, P must have felt so
alone for a lot of it. And she was like getting through
this heartbreak by herself and learning how to stand on her own
2 feet by herself. So I think that made her even
more guarded. So then here comes Key and all

(38:13):
of her defensive mechanisms are just kicking in.
And Peem's like, I don't know why I'm behaving like this, but
like, that's my instinct right now.
And I think that that's valid. It's not a reason to like hate
Peem and be like, wow, Peem, you're being so mean to Key.
Like she's trying to, she's being defensive because she was
hurt so badly, you know, and. Yes, that is extremely valid,
right? Especially she, like we said,

(38:35):
she's a shell of a person those entire seven years.
She doesn't have much left to bebroken, right.
So I mean, yeah, human nature isself protection.
Like just trying to like protectyourself.

(38:57):
Yeah, we have a self preservation.
Self preservation area. Yeah.
Yeah, that's definitely what's going on with Peem.
And then, like, here comes Key shattering all of the armor that
she built against her will. She's like, I wanna hate you
right now, but I can't. Like, it's slowly, like, wearing
away at her, basically. So again, Peem, to protect
herself, tries to set boundarieswith Key.

(39:17):
And it, like, crushes Key to have Peem want to send
boundaries with her. But like, I Key understands
where Peem is coming from, even though it hurts her.
So she again, what does Ki always do when she's
uncomfortable? Makes ridiculous jokes.
So she does that a lot in the beginning because like that is
her form of emotional armor. So to your point earlier, I

(39:40):
think it was really interesting to in the beginning when they're
reacquainting themselves with each other as adults who have
gone through this big trial and separation period because yes,
they've changed, but their core personalities haven't.
And the two of them have such a very long history together that
I thought it was super realisticto portray them as like falling

(40:01):
back into old habits kind of unconsciously because that's how
you are with people. If you've ever like had a good
friend or a family member that you don't see in a long time,
and then you're like reunited with them and you ever get that
feeling of like, wow, it's like no time has passed.
We're just like the same people. We were just like falling back
into our same conversation patterns and things like that.
That's what's happening with Ki and Peem.
They just. They really know each other, and

(40:22):
so they're falling back into that, like, familiarity with
each other, like unconsciously, because that's what humans do,
you know? But The thing is, when P
realizes that that's what's happening, she puts a stop to it
because she's afraid of getting hurt, basically.
Yeah, and the way she's acting because she's scared of getting

(40:44):
hurt, It's starting to make Key question if PIM will ever
forgive her. Yes, because this is a huge
thing. Like, her life was turned upside
down because of all of this. And Key says in her in her
monologue, someday PIMI would return to the way we used to be.
That was the hope. That's what I wrote, I added.

(41:08):
But from the look of it, just forgiveness seemed impossible.
So it's like so sad to see Key start to lose this hope.
After seven years of clinging toa shred of hope.
But she doesn't give up because she says if I did that, how I
had held onto my love for Pimanas all these years,

(41:29):
enduring to the point where I remained absent, as if I had
been living as a monk for nearlyseven years, would go to waste.
And I I just love the fact that she doesn't want her abstinence
to go to waste because obviouslyshe loves Peem and the main goal
is to be with her forever. But it's such like being absent

(41:52):
for seven years be like damn, I could have been with someone
else if she actually lost hope. I love because it would go
through your head. It probably won't be the main
reason, but. It's natural.
It's a natural to be like, damn,I guess I could be with yummy or
yummy if I really wanted to. Not that she wants to.
She'd be afraid. Yeah, but kill her.
I just love that they added that.

(42:13):
It's such a key, but again, evenkey, see, when key's upset, she
even jokes with herself. That's the thing.
Like that's how you can tell howupset key is because she's
making jokes with herself being like, wow, I wasted all of that.
I'm gonna be sad and lonely and alone forever.
She's like, then my monk ears would have been wasted like
this. Her coping mechanism with
herself. That's how upset she is right

(42:36):
now, which is valid. And I will say something about
this whole thing with Keem and key that's happening right now.
So there's a very much a back and forth haening between them
and it's a it is a type of will they won't they situation.
But I like this type of will they won't they because it's
very much of them processing andworking through pain,

(42:57):
heartbreak, trauma, stuff from their past to move forward
versus like just pure misunderstandings where it's
like miss will they won't they will they won't they will they
won't they? That's repetitive.
This is not repetitive. It very much is a progression
and it's a healing process. It's a journey that they go on.
That's not this cyclical patternthey're trapped in.

(43:18):
So it's not like gap where it was.
It was like the same thing over and over and the cycle wouldn't
break until finally it did. This is very much them healing
on a journey, kind of. There's a huge thing in the way
that's not being said, that's a huge roadblock to that healing.
But we do deal with all of the pieces of it, which I like in
the novel personally. So I thought that I thought this

(43:40):
was a really good will they won't they scenario that my and
Ma set up and I like how it's written and handled.
I just love everything. I just love it all.
OK so after this there's a company dinner in Peems honor
'cause they have their new VP. Let's show her off.
So of course, mountainous breastwoman.
So that's next to Key and she asks he she's like oh do you

(44:03):
want to go to sleep with me? And then Key has a heart attack,
of course, which causes her to freeze, and she stares at this
woman. And then Kee has some thoughts.
She's like. I might have unconsciously
glanced at her for a while longer if I didn't feel
something narrowly miss my ear with impossible speed.
This better be in the show. Cut, cut to pee.

(44:24):
Oh, I apologize everyone. I accidentally dropped my
chopsticks. She looks the chopsticks were
speared into the partition behind Peem.
Behind Keem. First of all, how do you say you
dropped them when you're literally?
Flying. She.
Threw them at key like a fuckingspear at key in the middle of

(44:48):
dinner at a. Restaurant I but like the
accuracy you had to have though for that.
I wonder if she did some like training, like randomly, like,
you know, those random college courses that you can take.
Like there's some like unhinged ones, like just for yeah, maybe
or like there was, there's something.

(45:10):
Which we just get like those shetook up axe throwing on the UK.
Yeah, maybe they did axe throwing a lot.
Oh my God, so fucking funny. But yeah, I love that.
That was one of my favorite scenes.
I really I don't know how they would do this, but I really hope
it's in the show 'cause it. Was so funny 'cause.
You're just like what? Sorry everyone, I dropped them.
They shot her. But then it's really funny

(45:31):
'cause like Key's Underling is sitting next to her and he's
like, wow, our VP's so amazing. When I just drop things.
They follow the flu. She dropped them all the way
over here. So fucking funny.
Like what a suck up and Key's like I almost died.
I hope that dude. Wasn't serious because I.
Think he was. Just sucking up to the president
or whatever, OK. But then like mountainous breast

(45:51):
woman her, she's not deterred bythis incident.
So she shoots her shot again by being like, like, they have
drinks. And she's like, oh, Key, what
are you drinking? And then she's like, let me
taste it. And so then she of course, does
this in a seductive manner by like dipping her finger into the
drink and then like tasting it. And then she's like, oh, it's
good. Do you want to try me?

(46:12):
And then Key, who has a strong will to live because she almost
died via chopsticks, is like shakes her head back and forth
vigorously. She's like, no, no, no, no, no,
no, no. And then all of a sudden, bang,
crash. Keem abruptly gets up and
announces, I'm not feeling well,I'm going to leave.
And I'm taking Ki with me. This is when they're on the outs

(46:33):
still. And he's like, what?
And then they go outside, OK. And they're in Japan, not
Thailand. So it's like cold.
And Ki notices that Peem is not wearing a like, a thick enough
jacket or coat or whatever for this.
So like the gentlewoman she is, she gives Peem her coat, which
Peem like begrudgingly accepts. And then we get some parallels.

(46:55):
So after Key does that gesture, she notes we both slowed our
pace walking side by side because before that, Peem was
like stomping in front of her, kind of like when they were
younger. And Key used to like, walk
really fast. And then Peem's like, I'm
shorter leg to slow down. We must walk together.
And then Key's like, OK, so here, like they sub again,
subconsciously are falling back into these old patterns and Key

(47:18):
picks up on it. She's like, oh, Peem is the one
doing it. So that was a big step of like
Peem accepting their like old behavior.
She accepts the gesture from Keythat shows.
And Key used to do shit like that when they were younger too.
Like she would, she noted, like when it was raining, he would
always hold an umbrella over hermore than so Key would be like
half soaked and like Peem would be dry.

(47:38):
So there's key doing that thing when they were younger.
So I think like it was easy for PM to just like calm down and
like accept the goodwill gesturelike and he's showing that she
cares because like he used to always kind of do that.
It's. Just it's really cute.
But also, yeah, it's always somebody's the angry or trying

(48:02):
to guard themselves that's walking faster.
And it's calm down, take a breath.
My castle's grumbling. There you go.
OK, but mountainous breast womanis not done.
So while this is happening, likethey're having a sweet moment
together and like P Ms. like putting a scarf on Key 'cause

(48:22):
she's like, you must be cold. And it's like really cute.
And Key's like, Oh my God, she'snear my face.
And then key gets a text and she's like, it's fine.
I don't need to answer that. And then she looks at it and PM
sees it. So in P MC who's sees who's it's
from and she's like, how many lovers do you have Key?
And like all this stuff? And basically like they get into
the argument about PSI because PSI is like the quote reason

(48:46):
they broke up 'cause if you remember from volume 1 PMS, like
are you with her? And Key's like yes, because she
knew that would be the only way to get PEM to like hate her.
So then Key starts telling the truth 'cause she's kind of off
the hook a little bit with this deal where she can like, be more
truthful, but not fully truthfulbecause part of the deal was she
can never tell PEM she made the deal.

(49:08):
So she's like, but she can tell the truth about science.
So she insists she's like, I never cared about her.
And Peem's like, I don't believeyou lying bitch.
And she basically shuts the doorin her face when they get back
to the room. So we're getting closer to the
truth coming out, but Peem stilldoesn't know fully what happened
with Key. And then Key is left wondering,
in this moment, did the Peem wholoved me still exist somewhere?

(49:32):
And that's somewhere somehow have some faith Key.
But honestly, to be key in that moment, that thought is really
terrifying. To be like, wow, is the person I
love dead? Like, not actually, but like,
well, it's like the person you knew.
Am I in love with a ghost? Basically, yeah.
The person I knew. Because like we'll come to see
Pun, unfortunately, we get a point of view from him.

(49:53):
We will breeze through that, don't worry.
But like his point of view is basically he's clinging to a
Peem from the past that doesn't exist and never existed because
he's delusional. But like he's in the same boat
where he's clinging to the past and like I think he is worried.
Like, am I clinging to the past?Is there no future for what I'm
hoping for? Because it's stuck in the past
and it's going to die there, youknow?
So that is really scary from Key's point of view.

(50:15):
And yeah, we'll get more into Key and her feelings of the
whole situation. And I do love that.
Like, she does own what she did. It's not like she's trying to be
like PIM, but I did it for you. Like, it's fine, blah, blah.
She does own how it affected PIMtoo.
Like, you know. But she takes responsibility.
She takes responsibility. It's so this her, so this PIM's
dad, which is what I I like about the story in particular

(50:36):
people. People are taking
responsibility, it's not trying to pawn it off onto someone
else. Or gaslight and be like if I go
good P, like get over it. Yeah, I like that.
But I wanna back up quickly to the phone going off again
because before before he even checks it, he's like, oh, it's
probably a pot. Yes, which makes what made

(50:57):
sense. Yes.
And so P Ms. like check it and he's like, gosh, the one.
Damn time pop didn't text. Me.
I only have one person that texts me.
Yeah, it's so funny. OK, but Speaking of, he is like
there's I there's nothing I can do right now.
Like she's like, what am I goingto do to get pee to forgive me?

(51:23):
So she does get reinforcements in the form of a food, Beyoncé
and key loving and I mean in that order.
Pok Salad and POC shows up in full POC mode because she shows
up with this random guy. I love her and her explanation
when he asks who he is is I haveno idea.

(51:46):
We just met on the train coming from the airport.
He's tied too, and we're stayingat the same hotel.
It's like. Destiny.
That's so POC. And destiny it is.
It is, let's be honest. But also, my ma, is this the
next story you're writing? Like, are we gonna get this
whole thing from POC's point of view and get like that Neat.

(52:08):
Cute cause. So OK so once we get into the
special chapters, Momma for surehints that like she's gonna
write a book with POC as the main character which.
Yes. Which I need in my life.
So I don't know if she's going to go back and give us more POC
or she's gonna go forward from like the special chapter
scenario she set up. Yeah.

(52:29):
I feel like the special chart initial chapter scenario she
speed up set up would be a better story cuz drama but maybe
she'll give us some like flashbacks of this stuff.
I would love to just see like the meat, the.
Meat you got on the train, yes, that would have been fucking
hilarious. That's that's really all I need
is that scene. OK so he's still trying to

(52:54):
understand what happened last night.
Why team is so upset? First of all, we're all POC in
the scenario. OK yes and POC is her wake up
call because of course POC sees it all.
POC's seen everything since theywere younger.
Like POC knows POC knows Key because while Key and P are so

(53:17):
involved in each other, POC's just watching and really
understanding them. And the other reason I think he
calls POC is because POC's her emotional support person and I
think he is falling apart. So it's not just about like, oh
God, what do I do at PIM? I think she's falling apart.
So calls her emotional support person to come in and like prop

(53:37):
her up because she's like, again, had that thought where
she's like, wow, is PIM lost forever?
Depression. I must call my antidepressant
POC who also makes fun of me. But yeah, anyway.
But in a loving. Way.
In a loving way. OK yeah, but POC knows exactly
how Peem reacts to things so of course she slaps Kee's knee

(53:58):
because yes 'cause it's better than her own.
And we've established this in volume 1 and Pop calls Kee a
dumb ass she should while reminding her that Peeam was
still as jealous as ever and Keeis still thinking Peeam doesn't
love her. She literally threw chopsticks

(54:19):
at. You like the jealousy means that
there's emotions there. Exactly.
That's that's enough to give yousome hope, right?
Play on that. I love it so much.
I love that when POC comes not only does she prop up key like
you're saying to be like quit being a dumbass she's into you
keep fighting 'cause that's I what key needed to hear because

(54:41):
again her thought was Peem is lost forever.
I love a ghost so POC is servingthat function.
But I also love when POC enters the scene.
POC knows that Key is less assertive because Key's always
been like that and so POC's always been the one to like
assert herself on Key's behalf. And she does that here where
she's the one who tries to engage with Peem because she

(55:03):
knows that Key's not in a good place right now.
So she suggests she's like let'sgo out to dinner.
And she does it the most POC like way, which I think is
hilarious because POC is in Japan and she's like, I want to
eat Japanese food, let's get some sushi.
So she guilt trips Peem and Tan by extension cuz he's just there
for a while. He's the guy I.
Think it might be tan? For this one, is it tan?

(55:25):
Yeah, TAN. OK.
I think. So tan, I don't know, just
correct me if I'm wrong. Tan, oh tan tan.
Yeah, I get it cuz the A could be tan.
Yeah whatever. Say however you want to say it.
OK so I love that POC says she'sbasically talking about sushi.
She's like I want sushi blah blah blah.
And she's like I hope you won't turn down your friend Peem.

(55:46):
It's been so long. Like she took the guilt trip to
guilt trip. She's like God damn it.
And Mama like says that in theretoo.
Like POC is saying this just so yeah she can't get out of.
It. Yeah, exactly.
And she does this multiple timestoo.

(56:06):
And she does it to. Time because again, POC knows
how to get what she wants and she's shameless about it, which
is the funniest thing about POC.So I love that she does this on
Key's behalf. It's so funny.
Yeah, but like with the ton of it all, yes, it's Key's turn to
feel jealous. Yes, we get jealous key in
volume to which is. Lovely and she is not very happy

(56:27):
that Dawn is like very close to PM and she even mentions in her
in her monologue that they look like a perfect match.
Like this is the textbook. This is what her father would
probably want. Not that I mean she will realize
that. Oh wait, we also have casting
for this. Man.
I'm pretty sure this is going tobe Kirk from.

(56:47):
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, we, I mean, have you?
It's definitely him because of the stove.
OK. All right.
Yeah. So he is a very beautiful
looking human. Kirk's gonna get a good.
Role Kirk's finally gonna get a good role where he's happy at
the end of it. Yeah, I know.
And he's in the middle of the women, which usually happens.

(57:10):
He was in the middle of this couple.
Actually, in my marvelous dream is you in an annoying way.
But here it's in a he just kind of happened to be there and then
kind of deals with it and everything works out kind of
way. So it's like, it's gonna be
great. And this, this whole show's
gonna be great. This whole show's gonna be
great. Can't wait because.
These books are just. So they're so good.

(57:30):
Thank you, Mama. I'm sorry, I have a dog with me
right now that's licking me anyway.
This. Jealousy brings us to another
hilarious moment from Key where she's looking at the ground and

(57:51):
POC's like are you searching forsomething?
Well she POC says what are you looking for Key?
And this is just the whole conversation.
Stones, I need to kick somethingto blow some steam.
Japan doesn't have that a camel do.
Japan also doesn't have trashes littering around like our
neighborhood. Can I just kick you?

(58:12):
Oh, please have mercy on your wife.
Back when we were younger, you used to kick my shins all the
time. My knee ligaments are bad now.
Now I have to take and lean every day.
But like, OK, bye. You say as you've been hitting
key the entire time you've knowneach other.
She was just. Doing it earlier in this scene.

(58:35):
I love her, she's ridiculous. But I just love it.
It's the guilt. Accelerated too.
Can I kick you? She's frustrated and then wait,
she does this thing too. Or Keith when they start walking
and Keith keeps like stepping onthe back of Tan's shoes on
purpose. And then he turns around and
he's like, excuse me, I think you keep stepping on my shoes.

(58:58):
And he's like tries to politely correct her and be like, can you
stop doing that? And like Keith keeps doing, like
Keith keeps acting out in like ridiculous jealous ways that are
completely obvious, but she doesn't.
I don't think she recognizes what she's doing because he's
not usually the irrational one. But here you get to see she's
can be irrational too, and she'sjealous, which is it's but her

(59:20):
ways of doing are like petty childlike things.
Yes. That ultimately don't hurt
anybody. They're just petty child things.
Because Speaking of that. Exactly, this is hilarious.
Speaking of that, Don tries to take a picture of Peen, but
every time he tries, the Pocky gang steps into the frame and
just starts doing random funny faces things.

(59:43):
They just photobomb every time. And this goes on many.
Times so much to. The point where Tan is like,
excuse me, he's so polite. No, he's every single time.
And he tells them that he wants to take a picture of PM alone,
which he gets the this is the response he gets.
Go ahead and take it. Just think of us as background,

(01:00:04):
like for trees and grass. And I died laughing at that.
And Todd immediately puts away the camera because he knows that
he's not gonna get what he wantsand he's not even gonna fight
for that. No, which now I'm realizing why
he tells him not to give up easily at the end.
We'll get there. But.

(01:00:24):
Yeah, he wears him down. OK, But it's just, I love this
part because it shows that the three of them are a package
jail, especially the Poggy game. But the three of them really
are, Yeah, like a cohesive group.
Like Peem had to accept that about POC as just part of.
Key. And I mean, like, it's not like

(01:00:45):
she was doing anything about. Another, she's like, I just have
to accept this. And when she sees them together
again, she's like, yes, like a fish in water, like the two of
them. She's like, you just can't
separate them. And Peem just understands that.
And like Tom is learning this the hard way, but like there's
no separating key from POC. It's just they are together.
But it's it's also a good time to mention how naturally that
the three of them fall back intothe old dynamics cause like Key

(01:01:09):
and Peam right now are both jealous about things and people
and they're not 100%, but the trio relations to ship still is
behaving the same way. Yes, enjoyable chaos.
Like that's the only thing I could think to describe the
three of them. That's a great description.
I mean also it's just what you can describe.
The trio is is still like the Pocky gang, but Peem fits in so

(01:01:33):
nicely with them that it's stillthe trio.
It's Cookies and Peem flavored Pocky gang.
Yes, it it really is. It is and but the key is that
like they need all three of them.
Yes, again like the Pocky gang is is fine on itself too, but
Peem is always in thought and like she's she's still there in

(01:01:56):
conversations and thoughts. It's she's never forgotten even
with the Pocky gang. And once POC got there, you see
the movie come later and it allowed them to feel like it was
old times yes. And that really solidified that
the comfortability that broke down the walls even more.

(01:02:19):
Because who can stay guarded around Pock?
That's a. Seriously.
Like she doesn't allow anything? No, exactly.
If you're a. Controvert.
She is going to make you come out of your shell.
Exactly. There's no hiding from Pock.
But the three of them are home for each other.
Yeah, the concept of home. Because as long as they are
together, everything is natural and comforting.
It doesn't matter where they are.

(01:02:39):
If they have each other, they'resafe.
Yeah. And they're themselves.
Agreed, and it may not seem likethis right now but eventually
like it grows even more. I mean, yeah, no, that is a
really good way to put it. And I'm just glad we get more
POC in Volume 2. And to your point, it

(01:03:00):
demonstrates how important this particular friendship is not
just to Key but to Peem also because POC is ultimately
helping the two of them process and heal and move on, which is
like the crux of what needs to happen.
But it's hard to do, especially when it's painful.
So having a good supportive friend who makes things lighter
and happier can be helpful. OK, so as we've established, Key

(01:03:23):
is not happy about this man being here who's clearly close
to Peen. And like background story with
him is that he met her in Thailand, I don't know, in
England I think. And he's been like a friend to
peen but like pining after her. It's A1 sided pining situation
basically. But not like.
Dating, right? No, he's well, she's not a

(01:03:44):
fiance. Which is ridiculous.
Oh yeah, that's. But we keep forgetting about
that. As we should.
As we should. And he knows like PM's sister
and kind of her situation a little bit and then starts
putting together she was heartbroken over somebody.
And then in volume to he figuresout it's key because it's very
obvious that it's key. So at the bottom line, they are

(01:04:07):
friends. He's pining after her at this
stage, but like, they are friends first.
OK, so that's where we're at with those two.
And so Key in her jealousy pullsin a nin from the loyal pin
where she has to battle the man for Peem.
And she of course does it in ridiculous ways, not regal ways
like a nin would do. So again, this is another way

(01:04:31):
their relationship has changed because now Key is also jealous.
So they go to eat sushi 'cause that's a POC wanted them to do.
And eventually they get on the on the topic of what Tan's plans
are while he's here because they're like, why are you here?
What do you plan on doing? Because everybody here is
working. POC is here as Key's emotional
support friend. They're like, what are you doing
here? And he's like, well, you know,

(01:04:52):
I'm going to like do some traveling and seeing some stuff
with Peen, my friend. So Key, to your point, informs
him that they're a package deal.So like, wherever Peen goes, the
Pocky gang is going to go. Which shocks being me because
she's like what? The fuck are you talking,
monkey? And, and it also shocks Portan,
who didn't ask for any of this lesbian drama.

(01:05:13):
He's not being dropped into. So he's like, yeah, I don't know
about that. I I, I definitely planned on
this trip just being me and my friend.
So Key's like, yeah, OK about that.
How about we play a game? If I win, we're all three of us,
or four of us rather are going on this trip that you have
planned. And if I lose, I'll be your
servant for a day. Feel like inviting yourself on

(01:05:34):
someone else's trip? Fuck.
It's not just you're telling me you're like me and my best
friend are coming with you stranger that I don't know which
is insane. But this whole let's bet and
play a game kind of thing is a like a parallel back to Volume
1. And we'll get into it.
But there's so many parallels back to Volume 1.
Imama did such a great job, Boris.

(01:05:55):
Some of them are really subtle and not super obvious, and this
is one of them. So when they were in high
school, the reason they went on their first date is because they
were in PE class and teams like Hey Key, if your team wins, you
take, you know, we'll go to the movies together and if I win,
I'll buy you ice cream. And then obviously Key is team

(01:06:15):
one cuz she's an athlete. And then PM got both of those
things with Key. But anyway, that's why they went
on the date. So here's Key being the one to
suggest it, not PM. So it's like a reverse parallel,
which is fun A. Lot of them like there's quite a
few that are reversed, some thatare just direct yes, cuz
they're. Complimentary they're they're
it's showing that they're compliments to each other, which

(01:06:36):
I fucking love that mom mod. It's one of my favorite things.
So key's first suggestion is like, let's do something math
related. Like who can recite the most
digits of pie wins? And it's like Key, you're a
fucking engineer. Like that's not fair.
And Todd's like, I'm a photographer.
I don't know about that. So he's like, how about we just
like as a this is the most boy thing ever.
He's like, why don't we just seewho can eat the most wasabi?

(01:06:57):
Because like that's such a like boys at a kitchen table thing to
be like, I can eat more than youbecause I'm brave or whatever.
So he suggests that, and Key, who doesn't do well with wasabi,
starts panicking. But thankfully POC's there and
POC quote helps. She helps Keith.
And so basically what they do isthey have the wasabi on the

(01:07:18):
table and they're like, OK, put as much.
And they keep like betting each other.
They're like, I'll take this much.
And then he's like, OK, I'll take that much and raise you a
little bit more. And they're doing it like
millimeter by millimeter. And then POC's like, this is
taking way too fucking long. So POC takes all of the wasabi
on the table and puts it on Key's plate.
And Key describes it as the sizeof a baby's fist.

(01:07:40):
A lot of fucking wasabi. It is.
And so Key's like, I guess we'redoing this 'cause I love pee.
And so she picks it up and it's so slow again.
POC is super impatient and she'slike, Oh my God.
So she stomps on Key's foot and Key screams in pain.
So her mouth opens and then POC shoves the wasabi.
It's a key like now. Can you imagine someone doing

(01:08:01):
this to you 'cause if you're in pain and you're open your mouth,
that means you're not breathing right now, so then you get
something extremely spicy just shoved in your mouth.
How do you even like catch your?Breath.
I don't think you can, but I love the way PM PM Key describes
POC doing that. She shoves it into her mouth
quote like she was a professional wasabi feeder.
I. Love that description.

(01:08:24):
But it shows that POC takes her jobs very seriously.
But POC was also. Like, this is way too slow key.
Just fucking do it. Yeah, but she's like, I'm not
gonna let you chicken out of this.
So Ki somehow lives through thisexperience and wins.
And so all three of them are going on this trip.
So then like, that's gonna be next day.

(01:08:46):
So for today, they then leave the sushi place eventually.
And we switched point of views to Peem.
And then we learned that, like, her friend showing up was not
part of her plan. So he he came and he's like, oh,
yeah, I'm gonna spend time with Peem.
But she's like, I didn't know hewas coming, which is kind of
weird. But then she's like, well, he's
my friend and he's here and I don't know, like, hurt his
feelings and send him back home. She's like, also Key seems

(01:09:09):
really jealous, which is fun forme.
And also she's like fighting these battles and not running
away. So she's intrigued by the fact
that Key seems to have changed. And it's like fighting for her
in a way that she wasn't doing before.
Not that she wasn't, but like, key is more flight than fight,
which she has told us in her inner monologue.
So pee's like, I'm intrigued by this new key that I'm seeing

(01:09:31):
who's more assertive and shit, and I kind of want to see this
play out. Yeah, OK.
But if tan OK, sorry, let's let's continue.
So this whole thing has been chaos.

(01:09:53):
Yes. It's just that's just.
That's how you can explain the books too.
Chaos. Enjoyable chaos.
Yes. OK, so if Tan thought taking a
photo would be his only disappointment of the day, he
would be wrong. Sure, because POC being the wing

(01:10:13):
woman that she is takes him awayso human key can have time
together. Which I it's just hilarious.
This is like the the horse carriage thing or something.
I I feel they, they went off to do something and.
This happened so many times. Yeah.
All together. Let's go, Todd.
And she takes him somewhere elseagainst.

(01:10:33):
Him literally dragging him at one point.
Yeah, yeah, it's great. He literally spends his whole
trip with POC against his will, somewhat against his will.
Eventually it becomes somewhat. OK, so then, OK, I love the way
this goes because basically theyend up in this area and there's
like rickshaw drivers in like, and those are like the guys who
have like who are like in a pedal or like, I don't know,

(01:10:55):
like take them places. And POC is just like loudly
objectifying these men in tight pants, which I love.
I love that POC openly objectifies men.
Good for you, POC. You get yours, girl.
And while that's going on and she takes Tan away, Peem wanders
towards this giant red Lantern. That it it almost the way she

(01:11:16):
describes it, it sounds like an insta spot because she's like
all these people are trying to take pictures with it and it's
very crowded. So then Key just takes a picture
of Peem, kind of like in this area, which catches Peem super
off guard and she's complaining. She's like, Key, the Lantern
isn't even in the photo. The whole point of taking a
picture here is the Lantern. And Key just replies, well, I
wasn't trying to capture the Lantern.

(01:11:36):
I only wanted to capture you. You're the most valuable object
anywhere. No object.
But like you're the most. You're the art.
Well, I love that Key, cause Keyjust wants a memory of Peem.
Yeah. And Peem was like happy and
looking at this thing. And she's like, oh, I was just
looking at you. I don't Blood Lantern.
It's very cute. I love that Key.
Just like Key is super dorky. And she's also dorky in that
lovable way. When she just blurts out her

(01:11:58):
feelings sometimes without thinking about it.
It's very sweet. It's just.
When they're all they're just, it's so cute it.
Is it's very cute. And eventually Peem just
casually mentions that she's thirsty.
She actually just says the word thirsty and that's all he needs

(01:12:20):
to hear. And like her brain jumps to must
get something for Peem. Yes, must help take care of
Peem. That's it.
That's it. No other thought?
No. Which maybe she should have
thought of. Slightly harder so she goes off
without telling Peem to get her something to drink.
Meanwhile, this causes Peem to start panicking because she

(01:12:44):
can't find Key and it just doesn't like we've seen this
from volume 1 like Key if Key's gone that the panic, the anxiety
sets in and he doesn't realize this until Peem starts freaking
out at her when she pops back up.
So like he's thinking she's doing this such a sweet thing.

(01:13:05):
I know. And I believe she comes back
saying peekaboo. She does.
It is hilarious. But she's not met with someone
who's happy and like grateful for a drink because Peem is
freaking out. And like her, her walls began to

(01:13:26):
crumble when she realized that Key wasn't there.
And yes, she while yelling at Key not to leave her alone, she
uses Key's nickname. So that was the boundary that
she set herself. And she's the one breaking it.
And just, you see how the separation anxiety abandonment
issues that Peem has is still asstrong as ever, just like the

(01:13:49):
jealousy that's there. But it's just like, I mean, we
see that Ki has grown a lot. PM's grown in some ways, but
she's very much set because she was broken.
Like she had to spend so much time trying to keep herself
together that she wasn't able togrow as much as Ki was.
Or at least not grow in this aspect.
Yeah, she probably was just probably too painful to process.

(01:14:11):
I mean like. In the way the whole 7 years she
was abandoned. So these issues just kind of
grew even more. They festered a bit.
And when she's together with herat this moment, it was kind of
like a small baby step towards that forgiveness.
And then having key be nowhere without any warning broke that

(01:14:36):
step. It's like one step forward, 2
steps back. Yeah.
And that's gonna kind of be their progression, which is
normal when you're like, or not normal, but like it's plausible
when somebody's so, you know, broken or emotionally not fully
healed to kind of do that the thing.
But from Key's point of view, I think part, I mean, yes, I think
she was just very excited to be like, must help Peem and then

(01:14:57):
she runs away without thinking. But I think the other thing is
like, Peem is acting like she doesn't care about Key at this
point or because she's guarding herself.
So I don't think he was like, I didn't even think you'd miss me
kind of things. I don't think it registered with
her because of Peem's kind of behavior towards her.
And she's like, well, maybe I have to win her back.
Like I got to get her a thing tomake her happy.
I don't think she was. I don't think she thought Peem

(01:15:18):
would react like that because ofthe changes in Peem that she's
seeing. So I think it, while this was
like scary and hard for Peem to deal with, I think it was
important for both of them to belike, oh, these feelings are
still here when it comes to likehow Key, how Peem reacts when
Key's gone. I think both of them needed to
see that particularly Key. Yeah, And knowing that and

(01:15:43):
seeing it later, Key takes Peem's hand to show that she
isn't leaving her. And Peem starts to describe like
everything becomes blurred and unclear.
And this is really Peem's anger and resentment becoming blurry
and her not knowing exactly how she feels anymore.
Because this is so confusing because she's felt one way seven

(01:16:08):
years now, and now this person'sback in her life.
And she's like, I have this anger, but I'm feeling these old
feelings and it, it's just who knows what's happening anymore?
And it's, it's just so sad because Peem describes this all
as a dream as well. And she tells herself to keep

(01:16:30):
dreaming a little more before she has to face reality.
And it's just so sad because shethinks that reality is pain.
Yes, abandonment, Abandonment specifically.
That's why it's confusing because she's like, this is all
coming from he abandoned me and now he's back.
He abandoned me again and like here are all these feelings.
She's like, I don't know how I feel because she's here now,

(01:16:50):
she's touching me and now I'm happy and I'm sad and I'm mad
and like. I like roller coaster emotions.
Yes, and I like that Mama specifically has Peen being like
this is confusing because it is like like that would be so
confusing, you know. So it's I got we got the inner
monologue from Peen to like hearher think that, you know, Yeah.
And but she is letting herself dream.

(01:17:14):
Which is cute. Yeah.
And, and like for somebody who'sso hurt and guarded, like even
that can be dangerous. Like when you're like afraid of
being hurt, like even having a little, The Dreaming is like
hoping, even having a little bitof hope, like it could get
crushed again and like. It's like he not giving up hope
that people. Forgive her.
Exactly. So with them both doing the same
thing right now, we're gonna, wefinally get into this like

(01:17:36):
comfortable flow with the two ofthem and we get their old
dynamic. And Peem tells Key that she
wants ice cream and they have this back and forth.
Well, first of all, he's like itis cold and you want ice cream.
First of all, I agree with Peem. There's there's always time for
ice cream, OK? There's no like ice cream in

(01:17:57):
winter. Yes, I will still eat it.
It tastes good, that's all that matters.
But they have this back and forth about what flavor Peem
wants and the 1st. I believe it's the first.
Flavor Key suggests is cookies and Peem so cute, which is such
a cute call back to the first volume.
And because if you remember in volume 1, Peen gets mad at Key

(01:18:22):
for ordering cookies and cream. And it just, it seems ridiculous
that this is what she's getting upset about because it was it
was it definitely was, but it's I feel like it was kind of like
a jokey thing. Me too.
And she jokes around that Key should have ordered cookies and
peen. So here's Key having that like

(01:18:45):
just in the back of her mind andlike that's something that had
have been there all the time. She probably thinks about
cookies and Peem every time she sees cookies and cream and that
must have been killing her over 7 years as well.
Yes, she cried every time she was in a YEAH section, let's be
honest. There's definitely like one
night where she was like feelingreally, really sad and sorry for
herself, so she got like a pint of cookies and cream.
It was just there, sobbing, crying, eating this like

(01:19:07):
talking. Ate most of it.
Yeah, that definitely happened. Let's be honest.
No, POC shows up. Like, it's already easy, OK, So
like, the whole day, Key's so upset, and then POC's like, oh,
for goodness sake, I'm just gonna show up here, eat cookies
and cream and then it's not peeing, Key goes.
Cookies and peeing. Yes.

(01:19:29):
No, that's them. Anyway, yeah, so there there are
quite a few callbacks throughoutthis book and I just we've we've
talked about it. I love that momma.
It's really tying the two books together.
They're not disjointed. No, they're not.
It really does. It's not overbearing in the

(01:19:50):
story at all. Because you did mention there's
some that I don't realize because there's too, there's
subtle. My brain does not do subtlety,
unfortunately. But the direct ones are not over
like. There's not like hit you over
the head with it kind of things. What I like about this whole ice

(01:20:11):
cream scene too. So it kind of, I think there was
a a bigger purpose to this rather than it being like, oh,
look, they fell into stuff together when they were walking.
It's it's a conscious one that Kee does so like after So the
cookies and peeem thing, like she tries to flirt with her by
doing that and it fails. So then Kee goes and she's like,
OK, I'll just go order ice creamfor you.
And she orders strawberry and peeem notes.

(01:20:33):
Oh, that's been my favorite flavor since forever.
So what all of this is really demonstrating is that he is
showing PM she remembers everything about her and still
thinks about her without actually saying I still think
about you by her just doing these things to be like, this is
your flirty flavor. You don't want that.
Here's your actual favorite flavor without saying I know
your flavor. I know everything about you.
She's just doing it. And then PM's like, oh wow, she

(01:20:55):
remembers shit about me. And I think like PM knows that
Kim remembers things about her and Keith thinks about her, at
least that's starting to become more apparent.
And I think that's why she starts keeps getting annoyed by
key because her guard gets lowered every single time it

(01:21:16):
happens. And like she's again defensive
that she's gonna get hurt again. But like slowly, like I think
she's gets less afraid and like she starts dreaming more quote,
you know, so I love all of that.I hope that's I hope they keep
the cookies impeding thing on the show cause it's I feel like
cute and funny. I love it.

(01:21:37):
I mean, I guess it's not a big thing, but but it's cute.
It's kind of yeah. I feel like they're.
Going to, they're going to. And you know what?
They're definitely gonna keep inhere?
The ice cream flirting that happens right after this.
But I will give credit to Monma. She did this the right way, the
way she sets it up. Because in all the Thai girl
loves shows, it's always 1 character doesn't know how to
eat ice cream. So then the other character has

(01:21:58):
to wipe their lips. No mom and mom's like give me a
break with that. Let me show you how you actually
do ice cream flirting. So this was epic and I need the
scene. So basically at this point they
both have ice cream or maybe just Peem, I can't even
remember. And they go by a wall for some
reason. Like Peem's back's against the
wall. So then Key puts her hand on the
wall and leans into Peem's space, and she's like, can Key

(01:22:21):
try the ice cream, basically. And she uses her own name, which
PIM recognizes Key like never does.
Like it's something I think she had a beg Key to do.
And so Key's being super intimate right now after PIM was
like, call me vice president. Here's Key being like super
intimate with the way she's talking.

(01:22:41):
So then PM's heart melts a little and while she's fixated
on this feeling from Ki, just like the way she's speaking, Ki
starts. This is PM's point of view.
Ki starts nibbling on the ice cream to taste it and then
eventually taste the ice cream off of PM's lips.
So she uses it as a way to kiss PM essentially and without
thinking about it, PM like her body just responds to this and

(01:23:05):
she like pulls Key in tighter like closer to her.
So it's like, this is a win for Keek.
She's like, oh, Pee is grabbing me at the waist.
This is great. But then the man comes back and
Tan breaks this up and he's like, what are you guys doing?
And instead of being embarrassedlike he normally would be and
like making some weird excuse tobe like, I was checking her

(01:23:26):
blood pressure or something stupid, Kee gets all serious.
And like, again, this is Peeem'spoint where she's like, wow, Kee
gets real serious. And then she's like to ton
directly. She's like, this ice cream is
delicious and belongs to me. You're never gonna taste it, so
fuck off. Basically something like that.
But like PM's like wow, Key's being possessive.

(01:23:48):
Key's never possessive. So like this was a a win for PM
at the end to have Key do this. I laughed my ass so funny.
I want the scene so badly. Like.
She's just unapologetic with allof it too.
Yes. OK, wait, something else.
I kind of want to say that I just like thought of so from the

(01:24:08):
pilot when they were like, we must have drama scenes and all
this stuff. OK, here's the deal though.
Like honestly, this story doesn't have too many drama,
drama scenes. Honestly, when you really think
about it, like, yeah, there's conflict, yeah, there's drama,
but even them reconciling, whichis mostly volume to, it's not a
lot of just like drama, drama, it's a lot of them like one

(01:24:32):
step. Like it's like 2 steps forward,
one step back. Because they actually do move
forward more quickly than they're like, it's not them in
this pattern of hurting each other or anything like that.
It's just like this process of like healing and getting to know
each other and then like other people being like, what are you
doing? Please move faster.
Like, you know what I mean? And I don't mind that.
But these books are very much letting them live.

(01:24:54):
Yes, it's not process, but they're.
Like, it's not like making things happen just to make them
happen, right? It's natural.
It's also not like like in the Loyal Pin for example, which is
Momma's other book, which why I'm going to use it.
It's very much like, and then inpin couldn't be together because

(01:25:15):
of the situation they were trapped in.
And like they had to fight the situation the whole time here,
it's like the situation that waskeeping them apart is like, it's
not even in the novel. Mom was just like, Yep, this is
the setup. This is why they're separated.
OK, let's let's get right back into it.
Now they're together now they'retheir feelings are back.
Let's keep going. It's like she doesn't dwell in

(01:25:36):
that they're separated. She doesn't dwell in while the
dad is forcing them to stay apart.
Still, the dad's like, can you guys get together already?
It's been 7 years, you know whatI mean?
Like everybody's like, can you get together?
And so it's more about getting them together and getting them
the process shit than it is to like force them apart and let
them pine, you know? Yeah, we're not surrounded by
the drama. Yeah, the humor is making up for

(01:25:57):
that, right, Which I personally very much enjoy the.
Same. I like that kind of story.
So I think it's the show is gonna be a lot like this too.
So I, I really hope so. I, it's, I feel like it's gonna
be less drama, more actual like comedy and cuteness 'cause it,
there is a lot of cuteness even when they're like on the outs
with each other. But it's like it starts going
away pretty fast. Like they heal each other in

(01:26:20):
this whole. Like them getting reacquainted.
We must have drama because thereis drama in life, but it's not
constant drama yes, I mean, there might be periods where it
does feel like that and but it'snot gonna stay like that
forever. There's.
More comedy and like cuteness and there is drama scenes,
honestly, in the in the books atleast, yeah.

(01:26:42):
So I'm hopeful the tone will stay.
I'm. Hopeful.
I'm hopeful with those. Pilots.
The pilot was great. They were like and the tone.
Is very similar cute and I feel like the 4th wall is definitely
Mama's fault. Fault with the pudding, I mean.
She puts herself in the book exactly.
That's exactly why I feel like they saw that they're like all
right 4th wall bring. Sure.

(01:27:03):
OK, Mama, you're the boss. Oh, my God.
What if she's in it? You know what that would be?
What if she's in the cameo? That would be wild.
I hope so. Now I'm be sad if you don't get
it anyway. You make myself sad.
OK so we move on from ice cream scene day and P Kee being
possessive. And then they do more exploring

(01:27:24):
in a different village and it's snowing this time and PEM is
afraid of what she thinks is a snow demon but it's actually POC
with her hair down and because it's like windy and shit.
And key quote defends PEM by scolding POC for quote
carelessly letting her hair down.

(01:27:46):
And then then which? Then Ki and PIM are alone.
OK. And then Ki manages to like hold
PIM's hand for a little while and then PIM's like.
And then I let her go. And the second I let her go, Ki
attracted a bunch of Thai women out of nowhere who were like can
you take a photo of us? And one of them starts flirting

(01:28:07):
with Ki because like, everyone in Thailand apparently flirts
with Ki and Japan. And so then PIM gets jealous and
decides to start a snowball fight.
So PP is trying to take a photo of these girls and PIM hits her
in the head with a snowball, which then scares the women away
and eventually they start playing around.

(01:28:27):
It turns really cute and they start playing in the snow
basically. And then we get the classic Kee
falls to the ground and peeing lands on top of her and they
eventually start making out because by the laws of Thai girl
love dramas, like you have to dothis apparently or it's not a
girl love drama. Like somebody has to fall on the
other one and then kissing has to happen.
Or gay. A bunch of gay stuff.

(01:28:48):
Or. Like yeah, it's like almost
kiss. Yes, well, they won't they they
do. So Kee is the one who starts the
kissing and then later admits toherself, What I think is
important is that in this moment, she felt like she was
tapping into all the courage she's never used in her life in
her efforts to win Peem back. And I think that was important
from the scene, not only the kissing part, but like that

(01:29:10):
realization. Because again, this is another
instance of Key growing and becoming a better person because
of Peem. Because when she was younger,
she's like, I'd rather run away than be courageous.
So this is Key, being courageous.
And she's like, wow, I've never done this before in my life.
And like, that's a big thing, you know?
OK, so then I love this because then eventually POC, I think

(01:29:31):
trips over them or some shit. And and then she's like, what
are you guys doing? And he's like, we're making snow
angels, obviously back in the ground.
I want that too. I don't know how they'd be
filming that. I don't know, like there was any
snow where they were filming. I could.
Probably do snow machines. I think there was some in the
pilot. They had some scenes where there

(01:29:51):
was snow falling. OK, but we'll say who knows I
just this key every time POC calls him out for being horny,
he's always like we're innocent POC.
What are you talking about bringing snow angels like she
always has some excuse to save PMs. Honor or whatever.
It's ridiculous. OK, so then other important
thing about this is by the end of this particular day, Ton

(01:30:16):
talks to Key like one-on-one. Oh, no, he doesn't.
I'm sorry. He talks to Peem one-on-one.
And basically at the end of thisconversation, he's like, listen,
girl, you're still in love with Key because he puts together
that it's Key. Key is the one with the gear
necklace. And he's like, yeah, you're
still in love with her. Like let's be honest.
And honestly, I thought that wasreally, to me, this is when I
was like, OK, I kind of like himas a character because he's been
pining after Peem for a really long time.

(01:30:37):
So for him to say out loud, you're in love with somebody
else, like you should come to that realization because you
seem happy and all this stuff, Ithought that was huge because it
would be so easily to paint him as the kind of character that
goes into a blind rage because he can't have the person he's
been pining after. Yeah, like pun or like every
like every other man who shows up in Thai girl of dramas.

(01:30:59):
Or he could have been on this trip with these women he didn't
want to be on this trip with andlike, sabotage all of this.
You know what I mean? But he doesn't do that.
So I found it really refreshing to have this male quote, like
love interest character, be really emotionally mature about
the situation and be like, OK, you're not in love with me.
You're not into me. You're into her.
She's the one that broke your heart.
And now you seem happy, like youshould be happy.

(01:31:21):
I thought that was huge. And I really like that Mama
wrote a character like that intothe show.
Yeah. I honestly I'm fine with.
Him, yeah, he's a very, I thought he was a very
emotionally mature character. Like I liked him.
Yes, more emotionally mature characters yeah I mean obviously
it's no cuz there is a drama even with emotionally mature

(01:31:41):
usually mature and still have. Drama or just be different
drama, yeah than just blindly going into a rage and being and
like sabotaging shit, you know? Yeah, people think before you
act. Take responsibility.
Yeah, just take. Responsibility, that's the
biggest thing. Yeah.
But here, like, we get the call back to the gear necklace and

(01:32:02):
tan, Tan. It doesn't.
Matter. Brings up the gear necklace and
reveals that Peem gets upset every time she sees it, but she
won't let anybody hide it from her.
And so now, like we know that Peem did not forget about Key at
all. Of course she wouldn't know, but

(01:32:25):
she felt the pain. But she didn't allow herself to
move on from that because like, she could have hidden the gear
necklace, she could have tried to move on and built those walls
thicker so there was no possibility of it ever coming
down. But she did.

(01:32:46):
She's here. She's kind of holding onto that
hope of Key being in her life because she's not forgetting
about her completely. Yeah.
I mean, we find out at, like, the very, very end that, like,
Peem has been like, social mediastalking Key.
Yeah. And he was like, Oh my God, Miss
Piggy, how did I not know that that was Key, you idiot Like,

(01:33:08):
oh, my God. Like an idiot.
Like that was the handle that Peeve used.
Like seriously, someone who's liking every post and she like
clocked the username too right? How did you not figure that?
Out idiot. I love key.
Or like has a cross your minds. I don't think it even crossed
her mind. It could be peeve.
No, no, I don't think it. I think she was so devastated.

(01:33:29):
She's like Peeve hates me so much.
My special. Chapter.
Actually I don't know. Is it a special chapter?
No, I think it's at the very, very end of the actual novel.
OK, now the the special chaptersare too unhinged for that.
OK, with the snow demon thing atthe beginning.
Something I don't like about thenovel.

(01:33:51):
Sorry, Mama, but I don't like this.
This is something I don't like. I don't like the how every
character is super fixated on POC's looks and how that always
makes her the butt of the joke. Because it's like how Key became
involved in POC's life was like all these kids saying derogatory
shit about her. And then like, there's a lot of
jokes at POC's expense. Like POC has thick skin and
like, brushes it off and is like, you so much confidence.

(01:34:14):
But like it. Yeah.
It's like, please stop making fun of her looks.
So I just wanted to get that outthere.
But with that, I thought this inner monologue with Key was
very funny because the subject of POC's makeup keeps coming up
over. That was really random.
It's super random, and I love this because here's Key's inner
monologue, she says. Come to think of it, POC's
makeup was like an abstract art at first glance.

(01:34:36):
Questions pop up into your mind.Where is the beauty in this?
What for? What does it mean?
He's such an asshole but like people are constantly talking
about POC's makeup and I'm likely.
Yeah, especially in the beginning of like the first half
of the book. I don't think that they're gonna
include that because I hope not.POC is well look look them does

(01:34:58):
not. Yeah, yeah.
First of all. And it doesn't seem like from
photos or like the one photo we got there was any sort of.
No, I think that's just a way tobe like, POC doesn't know how to
put on makeup. And then POC at this point,
we've heard to say that POC doesas a job.
POC is in like the entertainmentindustry.
And so like they hint through some of these dialogue that like

(01:35:19):
POC gets better at makeup because now she's in like the
industry. So it's like a way of POC
growing up. But I'm like, can we stop making
jokes about the way POC looks all the time?
Yeah, and it's not like just themakeup.
It's like literally her weight. Yeah, it's everything.
Just her looks like she's not the typical look and there's
even a scene with like all the men at the end and they don't
like the way that they're tryingto defend her is terrible as

(01:35:40):
well that. Wasn't the special chapter?
That was a chip special. Oh my God.
Was them being assholes, but like it was like it was kind of
funny but also like thought that.
They were saying the right thing, right?
Definitely. Like God damn it, yeah I want to
throw him in the but he's defending me while insulting me
at the same time basically. He he went was like so.
Yeah, anyway, again, it's it's going for humorous, but I just

(01:36:02):
like it's like every character was it towards POC to where that
felt like a lot like having jokes like about her makeup
every once in a while is fine, but I feel like every character
makes fun of POC's looks. Every joke about her is a look.
A lot of them and every character does it.
It's not just like he doing it cuz like yes cuz like that.
One up and then fine because they do mess with each other.

(01:36:24):
Like that? But it's just not OK when the
other characters do it, yeah. I agree.
OK. And then, and then we get a
scene I never could have predicted in a million years,
which is that POC already named her future child.
So the setup for this scene is that Key and POC are talking

(01:36:45):
about POC's love life, or lack thereof.
Because again, a lot of the novels focused on Key's love
life and they're like, what about you POC?
You're a horny bitch, who are you with?
It's true and it is. And with that we learned from
Key that quote POC already gave her child a name Mon Ma.
Why did it sound familiar? They say.
Why does it sound familiar? Listen this was the 4th wall

(01:37:09):
break like Caitlin said this wasso iconic and then this whole
Mon ma as POC's child gets more unhinged in the special
chapters. But like what?
A legend but. Like, yeah, she's a legend
because this is her book. Bitch, right?
Oh. My God, Mama, just I suppose I
read that. I was like.

(01:37:31):
My first thought was like, I knew it POC's your favorite
character. Like I fucking knew it because
like if Monma's favorite character was Kier Peem, she
would have been their child or one of the piggies or some shit
like that. But no, she chose to make
herself POC's child. Yeah.
That's her favorite character, the.
Last special chapter seals that POC's her favorite.

(01:37:51):
Character. I agree.
Yeah, I was just like I knew it because she tends to write the
same sidekick. Like prick is very much like
POC, but POC is like, you know, she wrote these books after the
loyal pin. So I think this was like the
more refined version of that character that she really loves.
You know, I think she likes thistype of character or is this
type of person or wants this best friend.

(01:38:13):
So I'm not. Sure we do.
Too listen, I love Pawk and Pricker amazing.
But anyway, I Liz, I never couldhave predict that in the novel.
Like that was so unhinged and amazing.
I just can't even I'll never getover it.
It's great. I really hope that makes it to
the show OK. So eventually Tan Slash Tan and

(01:38:33):
Ki get a moment alone and base which they need and they talk it
out essentially. And he basically tells Ki please
don't hurt PM again because he was there to witness PM at her
lowest low the way POC was thereto be there for Ki when Ki's at
her lowest which is always her birthday 'cause that was the
anniversary of the shenanigans basically.

(01:38:55):
And I love Ki's response becauseshe takes ownership of
everything that happens and she says to him, you have the right
to criticize or judge me based on what you see, but you might
want to leave some room for judgement since you don't know
or see everything. You have no idea what I've gone
through since I left Peen. No idea what sort of patience I
held onto for the past seven years.

(01:39:16):
I will spend the rest of my lifehealing her myself.
So I like the key is like I understand she's hurt.
I'm gonna fix it myself rather than just be like peeing.
Get over it, it's fine. Like she's.
Like she knows, like, I mean, again, before she even did this,
she knew she was gonna hurt her and it was gonna take a long
time to repair. Yeah.

(01:39:37):
And this is the this is showing how much key values Peeem over
herself. Kind of too 'cause she's not,
she's like, obviously it hurt her too, but she's not saying
like, I'm gonna heal. She's like, I'm gonna heal Peeem
first, 'cause that's more important.
That's also what she's saying. And by healing team, she'll heal
herself because that's making itbetter for.
Herself because they're connected.
Yeah, they are one. They are one.

(01:40:00):
OK, then we get in a ridiculous scene which may or may not be in
the trail, but this was so funny.
OK, so then POC has the brilliant idea of taking
everybody to a bathhouse. And apparently the bath houses
in Japan are either like single gendered or like multi gendered.
So like you can all be together or you can like be with your own
gender because like nakedness. So POC's like I'm going in the
mixed bath house so I can objectto find more men.

(01:40:22):
So good for you POC. So POC does that.
And then key is like, I guess I'll go into the women's bath
house where Peem already is. So he's like already in the bath
and then he follows it into the room and like hilarity ensues
because apparently they're almost alone except for like 2
elderly Japanese women. So like, I really hope this
isn't here because this is goingto be a funny setup.

(01:40:43):
Okay. And then we get this another
amazing parallel. So like basically teams like all
she's either in the water sitting next to it in a towel
and like he walks in there and she's like this towel doesn't
fit me. So she puts it on her head and
like walks in there butt ass naked.
And then she's like gonna go getin the water, but there's
elderly women or something. And then like we get this
awesome parallel where I love where she's like, I saw

(01:41:04):
everything for the briefest moment and then everything went
dark. I love when you read it all
he's. Small hands are pressing down on
my eyes. Don't look.
Her voice, cold and almost commanding, made my heart skip a
beat. It felt like she was holding me
from behind. Now, both of us naked, and I
love how Kee's horny thoughts predominate this, not the threat

(01:41:28):
that Peeam is whispering into her ear.
She's like, oh, she's naked. Like he's such a mess.
I love someone but yeah, I love the parallel to when they were
earlier. He's like darkness seems
darkness. And it was at the beach too.
So it was always like bodies of water and Peem not wanting her
to look at other women. Oh my God, this was so funny.

(01:41:49):
So they're like naked in this pool.
And then Key, the loser twat, blocks herself because she has a
Nosebleed. So then Peem has to like, rush
her out of there and excuse me? And Key's like, do I have
cancer? Like, it's not happening.
Like, Peem takes Key to her roomto take care of her.

(01:42:11):
And this was an important momentbecause this was Key seeing and
getting confirmation from Peem that Peem doesn't care about her
because she did all this stuff. And she's like, all right, do
you care about me? And people's like, yes, I'm
absolutely worried. You're fucking bleeding in a
pool. What do you mean?
And that's when Key's like, Oh my God, my old Peem is still
here. And she basically kisses Peem
because she can't hold her emotions back anymore and she

(01:42:35):
kisses Peem almost everywhere. This, by the way, this chapter
is called the fall of the BerlinWall.
So there's like this is when allthe emotional stuff goes away.
Like all the emotional walls fall.
Great title blah blah. OK, so Peem is.
So with the Berlin Wall down, Peem starts calling Key T rock.
And like that's when all hell breaks loose because Key gets

(01:42:57):
pet named. And then Peem internally has
this moment that's important forus to know where she's like,
yeah, Key is who I want. She's mine.
I admit it. I want this weirdo.
But then she goes down this lineof thought where she's like, but
in my keys, like, who has she been with?
And then like, we never cleared that up.
So with this, Peem's like, stop. She stops Key from whatever she

(01:43:20):
was doing. And she's like, we need to talk
about the past. And I thought this was good
because it would be very easy tojust be like, fuck it, whatever,
let's have fun. But that's not what the story is
about. So I like that.
Peem's like, no, I need to hear things from you.
So Key tells Peem flat out, she was never with Psy.
That was never a thing. Then Peem's like, well then if

(01:43:41):
you were never with her, which is your excuse for ditching me
on your birthday, then why the hell did you never contact me
and tell me that? Why did it take seven years and
us being in this position for you to tell me this?
And Key has no answer for this because, again, part of the deal
with the dad is she can't tell her the real reason.
So then PM's like, God, you're such a liar.

(01:44:02):
And she basically, like, throws her out of the room.
She's like, and I feel like I feel like for PM, she must be
like, wow, I can't keep letting my guard down around you because
you're going to break my heart again.
And like, I feel like for PM, she's like, we're trapped in
this cycle of you hurting me. And no.
And so she kicks pee, kicks Key out of the room.
Poor key is just like I'm going to tell her so bad.
I know she does. She starts to.

(01:44:23):
She's like I and like can't finish it.
Because she's so loyal, like shedoes not break her promises.
Well, that and she's like part of the deal was like if she ever
broke her promise, then she's worried that Peem's dad is going
to go back on his promises and start controlling her again.
She's like Peem's happiness is more important than like she was
telling you the. Truth.

(01:44:43):
Yeah. This promise?
Yeah. No, never.
This deal falling through? Never.
Because that's her risking Peem's lifetime.
Of happiness, right? She would never do that.
No. So she will hurt herself.
She will destroy herself. Like for Peen.
Speaking of. Destroying herself?

(01:45:04):
No. I, you said stop earlier and I
was like, that's a great transition, but we kept going.
But anyway, we do have to stop here to give some shout outs to

any media really. But just be real.
We all love queer media. That's why we're here, right?
So just go talk about anything and everything with everybody on
our Discord and you can connect with us and we can get to know
each other better. We've gotten to know some of you
a lot better and it's been really great.
So we want more. Come, come, come to us.
Come to your friends. Yeah.

(01:46:56):
So let's get back to somewhere, somehow, Volume 2.
All right, so. Talk.
The next day, ask PEM if they can talk alone for a minute.
And this is happening in the middle of Ton slash Tan and Key
in while they're in the middle of a drinking contest to see who

(01:47:19):
gets to sit next to PEM on the train the next day.
So those two are battling it out.
POC's like can we talk PE? Yes, she's like, what better?
Time right? Two idiots like those two are.
Preoccupied so let's do this andPeem is hilarious because the

(01:47:39):
inner monologue lets us, the readers, know that they've never
talked alone ever since they hadknown each other My God, it's
like what's going on? Hawk wants to talk to me alone
What? That's never happened before and
I really love that POC does thisbecause this is when she kind of
stands up for Key by telling PM that Key is also hurt.

(01:48:03):
Yes. And PM defends herself by saying
like she's had to live with thispain for the past seven years.
And POC does acknowledge her feelings but tells her that just
because she was hurting for seven years, does she really
want to hurt Key for another 7? Yes.
And then she says the this brilliant thing like this is

(01:48:25):
love PEM, not an equation. Everything can't always be
balanced. Life's too short to waste on
sorrow when you still love each other so much.
Even as an outsider I can tell. First, OK, I love this because
it's true. First, no hold on.
First of all, the maturity of POC here.
Literally like what? She's a philosopher or

(01:48:48):
something. This is amazing.
It's showing that first of all, POC is hilarious.
Chaotic, yeah. Yeah.
But she's so smart. She's insightful.
Yeah, I, I just love her. But this is true.
And they're never going to be able to get past things if they
are just in a battle of, well, you made me feel this, so I'm

(01:49:11):
going to make you feel the same thing.
So like, no relationship can withstand that because it's just
the back and forth of hurting each other.
And that's what we were talking about earlier with just causing
drama. For drama sake.
Yeah, for drama sake and not growing right and healing.
But the statement when she says, even as an outsider, I can tell.

(01:49:36):
It's showing that although Pop calls herself the first wife,
she knows her place and realizesthat Key and Team's relationship
is separate. Yes.
And it's just all so beautiful that they can have a different
bond, like each individual has like such a different bond, yes,
but they are still so close as agroup.

(01:49:57):
You know. It's just so sweet, I love it
all so much. Yes, no, I love that statement.
This whole thing from POC was really, really good.
So that first part is really excellent.
And then the second part she keeps going where she says PEM,
if your love means enduring the pain alone just to be with the
one you love, then Key's love must be about letting the one

(01:50:20):
she loves go free. You might not understand what
I'm saying now PEM, but one day you will.
And I love this insight as well because that's the crux of Key
and PEM's dynamic. They are compliments and so
their love is expressed in an opposite but complementary way
because they both sacrificed foreach other during those seven

(01:50:41):
years to keep their love alive. So as we'll see later, it comes
to light that Peem was basicallyInstagram stalking key the whole
time and so she never gave up hope.
But and her form of sacrifice was basically like being alone
with her feelings essentially. And then Key gave up Peeam so
Peeam could be happy and then was like wallowing in her pain.

(01:51:03):
But she had POC so she wasn't alone in her grief.
She could express it more freely, but like she couldn't go
after the things like staying away was her punishment.
So I really love that, like the way their sacrifices are being
depicted and they were balanced a relationship, whether they're
together or not. Like they just balance each
other. And I really love that about the
two of them. And POC is like, I can see it,

(01:51:25):
you know, and she's a PM. You may not be able to see it,
but POC sees all I, I've been with key long enough to
understand this. All right.
So then later that night, OK, soright, so tan or tan or
whatever, we're in a is in a drinking contest of Key.
So Key gets wasted and then PEM takes care of Key because POC
insists she's like, I have food poisoning.

(01:51:47):
And then they're like, you have a cough POC, she's like
whatever, good night. So PEM ends up taking care of
Key, and PEM discovers that Key is wearing the gear necklace
that she gave her on the cursed birthday where everything went
to hell basically. And again, like the ultimate
irony is that before she met PM,Ki hated her birthday and then

(01:52:11):
she started to like them when she was dating PM and then all
of us went to hell on her actualbirthday.
So the end of the book ends on Ki's birthday.
With. Happiness.
So like, I like that that keeps coming up in like this.
Like roller coastery way with poor freaking Ki.
I just had to point that out 'cause I had that thought as I
was reading this, but. About a birthday roller coaster.

(01:52:34):
So OK so Key ends up staying thenight in Peem's room and then
Peem's like more affection towards Key and she's like well
you have to shower 'cause you'realready in this room.
And he's like, but I can go backto my room, my clothes are in
there and the Peem's like no they're not, your clothes are
here because POC delivered them this morning.
And I love Key's thoughts where she's like I should stop under

(01:52:54):
underestimating POC because eventhough her plan was clumsy and
blunt, it still worked. What the cough cough.
My food poisoning? It's a POC.
Lesson. Finds a way it.
Does. POC is POC, that's the only
description you need. POC is POC.
It's just beautiful the lengths that POC goes through to be

(01:53:16):
there for Key. Her best friend is just really
beautiful and, and just the credit to momma for really
highlighting that. And POC's devotion to their
friendship is not lost on Key. Like Key will come full circle
with this later for POC at the very end.
But I love that their friendship, very strong
friendship is constantly reinforced.

(01:53:38):
So that morning Peem is being bold and she steals a kiss from
Key. And so the universe is finally
healing guys. We're moving forward and it's
really, really good. Things are going great.
And then we get to the train scene.
So in the drinking contest, Key lost.
So Ton Slash Tan was like, yeah,I get to sit next to PEM because
that was the bet. But then PEM gets up and is

(01:53:59):
like, can I sit next to you? Key of her own free will.
So Key wins even though she lostthe perky contest and it's
really cute. So like PEM is very affectionate
and they like cuddle on the bus or not the bus, the train ride,
and it's all going great until they get to their final
destination. And who is there now to this
breasts woman is there. And so key freaks the fuck out.

(01:54:22):
And she's like POC, POC, you're gonna help me fend this woman
off, right? And POC's like, Nope.
But I will find a way to ship your body back to Thailand.
Fuck is so real, I love her. It's so funny but Despite that
POC does try to play interference and she's like hey
let me teach you Thai. And she like gives her a

(01:54:44):
derogatory nickname and then later Peem catches Yummy Yummy
or whatever. Yummy, that's that's her name.
Sure. She's talking to Key and then
Peem's like, I'll interfere. And she's like, and he's like,
she sits, she sits in between uson my lap.
So she's like being super possessive of her key.
And then she's like, let me teach you Thai.

(01:55:05):
She basically insults her in this sort of horrible way.
And that's the first and only Thai word she teaches her.
And honestly, Idol Factory should do these scenes 'cause
they're hilarious and who doesn't love jealousy and
they're just ridiculous. And if they're gonna get this
actor, they might as well have all the scenes with her 'cause
they'll be funny. Yeah, you know, get your buddy's

(01:55:26):
worth. So by the end of this trip, the
other remarkable thing that I love is that tan slash, tan.
Let's go of Peem. Like, throughout this whole
misadventure he was dragged in on, he witnesses how Peem is
healing because of Key. And she comes back to life and
she's happy and all of these things.
And so he does get Key aside again.

(01:55:47):
And he tells her he's like, you worked a miracle, huh?
I thought you were just braggingat first that like, you could
heal Peem. And it seems like she's actually
getting better. I guess I really have to let her
go. So I love that he comes to that
realization by like witnessing the transformation of his
friends. So it does again, show that he
actually cares about her as a person, not as a possession.

(01:56:07):
So. This made me respect.
Him right again, his character is really great, like his
character of self, not like the fictional character.
So I do love that about him and I'm excited to see a positive
male figure who was like in the middle of the drama, but then
like, not toxic to it being shown on TV.
I'm looking forward to that. We'll get 2 of them in this

(01:56:28):
show. It's going to be.
One's a parent and one's like a love.
Contest which both are needed. Right, agreed.
So I love that this conversationkeeps going.
He's like, don't worry buddy, one day you're going to find the
person for you and he's like, well actually does POC have a
boyfriend? And I love this because honestly
if you really think about this whole trip because most of it

(01:56:49):
centers around Key and Peem but most of it is POC distracting
him while the those two get to work their shit out.
So really he came here to spend all this time with Peem and ends
up spending all of his time withPOC and she like bosses him
around most of the time. And so like, I love that he like
actually got to know POC becausethey actually spent a lot of

(01:57:09):
time together. It's not just like, oh, she's
cute kind of thing. He like, got to know her
personality the hard way and he's like, I kind of like her,
like, you know what I mean? Yeah, there's one scene where
like she's telling him to take photos and he's actually into
it, like. Yeah, let's do it.
Yeah, it's cute. Yeah, it's so cute, but his

(01:57:30):
explanation for asking this evencuter because he he says I think
she's somewhat cute and warm. You know, when I'm with her, it
feels like she can protect me. She can.
Yes, she can. She will cut a bitch for you.
She will. But it's nice to see someone
outside of the trio appreciatingPOC for who she is, because no

(01:57:50):
one does. He's an outsider.
Exactly. Yeah, she's always the butt of
the joke. So he's like.
I love her, but also it's nice to hear the line.
It feels like she can protect mebecause it means that he's
secure enough to know that she would be the protector.
It's he doesn't have to be this big macho man.
He's OK with letting a woman be assertive.

(01:58:12):
Yeah. And take care of him.
Yeah. So this whole situation is
exactly what POC needs. Yes.
And I, I just. I love this character.
This whole scene is what made mefall in love with this character
and really respect it. Agreed.
It's so cute. But then OK, so his explanation

(01:58:32):
is really cute and then Key's reaction is adorable in her
inner monologue after he he saysthis about POC.
She's like fireworks went off inmy head because she's like my
friend's about to get a handsomeboyfriend.
Like, so I appreciate this wholeplot line because it shows how
Key is just as supportive of POCas like POC has been supportive
of her and like created the story is mostly Key's point of

(01:58:54):
view. It's also Peem.
But I like that we get to see like the reverse of like POC
getting a significant other and then like how that like will
change their friendship dynamic. And we'll get into that a little
bit more after Key's initial like, wow, yeah, POC's getting a
hot boyfriend, not just some guylike who's whatever she's like.
He's an attractive man, like whoseems to like who she is.

(01:59:17):
Like that's awesome. So OK, that's really, really
cute. And we get more into their
friendship later and like, I really, really hope this is in
the show because the friendship is just as important as the
romantic relationship and I wanna see that on the screen
'cause I think it's important, OK?
But anyway, so we're mostly hereto reunite Key and Peeem, and

(01:59:37):
that's why POC's here. She starts getting impatient
'cause they're taking forever. So she starts fiddling.
They're at some place, I forget where they are, and she like
fiddles with the circuit breakeruntil it all the power goes off
and wherever they're staying. And then PM starts screaming,
'cause I guess she's afraid of the dark.
And she's like, all right, Key, go take care of your wife or
your second wife or whatever. And so Key busts in the room and

(01:59:58):
she goes to take care of Peem. And at some point Peem's like
afraid again. So she's like, please don't
leave me. Like I'm afraid of the dark,
don't leave me. He's in her model cause so
fucking funny. She's like, I wouldn't have left
even if she threw holy water at me.
But her fucking mind? Yeah, it is.
It's just your, I mean, yeah, there's so many.
Great lines. There's so many good lines.

(02:00:19):
Holy water. Like how, Mama, what the hell do
you think of? This shit I know key is so
fucking funny. Speaking of, how can Mama think
of this? My God.
OK. So they have trouble sleeping
that night and P asks Key to sing her a song.
And so he proceeds to sing the most ridiculous made-up songs.

(02:00:42):
And my favorite is this one. The itsy bitsy spider climbed up
the waterspouts. Down came the boob.
The saggy titty was out, which is followed by a whack from Peem
because. What the hell was that?
And after another try Peem, it'slike the worst.

(02:01:03):
It's like innuendo until it getsto like literally you just can't
ignore it anymore. It's just sexy songs.
And what she says and like P Ms.like swear to me that's a
lullaby key. And he's like, you didn't
clarify what age you wanted the lullaby to be for like it could
be for a 1718 year old. And PM goes, why key, have you

(02:01:27):
ever had to lull an 18 year old to sleep before?
I'm over here just thinking you're.
She's currently trying to lull a20 something year old to bed
right now. Being funny, but this was Peem
being like, who else? If you slept with Key, that's
basically what this is, 'cause like, what an idiot reflex this
song, these songs are, they're so funny.

(02:01:48):
OK, anyway, so that's how this starts.
And then basically they actuallyget into a real conversation
where Key tells Peem because like, yeah, Peem is basically
like, who've you fucked basically?
And then Key, Key gets into the truth of it, which basically
she's like nobody. And she's basically like,
there's literally nobody else inthis life I can love except you.

(02:02:09):
And that's also how Peem feels, which we know, but I think Peem
really needed to hear that from Key.
And also what she needed to hearis that is Key apologizing.
So Key apologizes for hurting Peem.
And she tells her, look, it wasn't one sided.
Like, I was in a lot of pain too.
And because Key is so sincere when she says all of this, PEM

(02:02:31):
like believes her when she says it.
Key has said this kind of a variation of this multiple
times. And PEM is just like angry and
just like, get out, right? And that's what she's been
doing. But here she's can tell that Key
is being really honest. And it overwhelms PEM so much
emotionally that she starts crying just like as her like,
emotions well up, you know? So Key starts wiping her tears
away and says don't cry my Brave1.

(02:02:54):
And I love, love, love that Key calls PEM brave because PEM is
brave. And I don't know if PEM would
think about herself as being a brave person, but Key as like an
outsider in PEM's life now and somebody that knew her in the
past can still see how brave of a person she is.
Because really, if you were to compare the two of them back in

(02:03:16):
Volume 1, like PEM was the braver of the two of them.
She's the one that would go after what she wanted without
fear. She was the one, even though she
was terrified of her dad. Because remember the first time
Key meets PM's dad, P was shaking and she's like PM's look
scared. P made all these deals with her
dad because she wanted Key, right?
So she went up against this tyrant that's scary and still

(02:03:38):
fought, right? So that takes a lot of bravery
and courage to do that. And being brave is not something
he's naturally good at. She makes jokes and runs away.
So I do wonder if that's a quality in Keem, in Peem that
Key admired when they were younger.
Like, it never came up in the book.
But I do wonder if that's something that Key was kind of

(02:03:58):
into, like the way Peem was like, oh, look at Key
concentrating on something, You know what I mean?
Yeah. And so I love that she says that
line honestly. And then Key again, reinforces
and promises specifically I won't let you go again.
And that really resolves the breakup drama.

(02:04:19):
And then Kee continues with her lullaby and they have a bunch of
sexy times. And then peeing and peeing gets
really tired. And then and the next morning, I
think Kee says something like, well, the lullaby worked, didn't
it? You fell asleep.
Yeah. And then there's also like a
good call back to the first bookwhen I didn't write it down.
So I don't know who did it to who, but like she tries to, I

(02:04:42):
think she gives PEM key, gives PEM more foods like you need
your energy. Oh, my God.
With the eggs. Yeah, that's ridiculous.
OK. But then it's so funny because
they're in bed the next morning having this conversation about
the lullaby. And then Pop comes in and she's
like, hey, I knocked a few times.
I can come in now, right? And so they have, like, no
warning. And they kind of get dressed
really quickly. And then Pop comes in and she's
like, you guys fucked, right? Finally, this is over now.

(02:05:03):
You guys are taking forever. And Key's response is one of the
most ridiculous things she ever says.
And she's like, Pop, take that back right now.
PEM has never done anything. We were just holding and
innocently. Meanwhile literally the scene
prior when they wake up in the morning Peen was like appraising
all the hickeys all over her body that he left.
And then POC without that knowledge is like oh please key,
do you even realize you're wearing each other's clothes

(02:05:27):
'cause I got dressed from a pastthat has to be in there.
That was so funny. That is cool.
Like how do they not realize? That they're putting each
other's clothes on. They wear very different
clothes. I know it's ridiculous.
So funny. All right.
Then after that, POC leaves and Key and PEM navigate the company
business and their rekindled relationship.

(02:05:47):
So like their relationships likeon the DL cause coworkers.
And this whole sequence is like very cute, very sweet.
And there's not a lot of jealousy happening.
And there's a point where in time where PEM gets sick and
then Key has to take care of her, which is like a parallel
back to when in college when Keywas sick and PEM took care of
her. Yeah.

(02:06:09):
And part of the way that she takes care of her is by putting
the medicine in her mouth to feed it to Peem in Peem's mouth,
which seems like the least effective way to give somebody
medicine. But it's it's gay, so OK.
It's really gay P key to the humongous disaster.

(02:06:29):
As the caregiver, it only gets worse.
So her inner monologue explaining how she takes care of
pee and she says maybe it was during the tepid sponge bath
where after sponging here and there it always somehow ended up
leading to other activities. And then she says I'm such a
useless doctor. Before that, she says.
Or maybe it was my unusual way of feeding her the medicine,

(02:06:49):
when in reality the patient probably ended up receiving only
a small amount of the medicine. Then I'm useless, doctor.
She's such a disaster. I love this so much.
So she does recognize that that was a terrible way.
To give the medicine well, because to be fair, she kept
being like, OK, Peem, we need togo to the doctor.
And Peem kept refusing. She's like, you have a fever, we

(02:07:11):
need to go to the doctor. So like she was like I have.
Medicine. Here, right, She's right.
And she's she's trying to do anything and everything to get
Peem to cooperate. But Peem is very stubborn.
It's like he's like sexy Dimes Iguess.
Useless doctor. I love that.
I hope that lines up there anyway, so because team's really
sick and like the preceding thing to this is like Peem,

(02:07:31):
they're getting into this like routine with work and Peem's
like, I want to spend more time with you outside of work.
Take a sick day. Key, you're really into your
work and you work really late hours and all this stuff like
take some time to spend with me.So then Peem actually gets sick,
and then Key has to take a sick day to take care of Peem.
And during that time, an employee at the plant or
whatever is injured on the job site and like, he's head of this

(02:07:54):
operation. So she's in trouble, basically.
So the president, who's PM's dadcomes from Thailand to Japan to
take care of this. So he suspends Key for a week
because she was the project leader.
And then PIM is like, wait a minute, I'm the VPI outrank her.
This happened on my watch. I should get in trouble.
And the dad's like, no, no, no, we can't appear.
Like Key is getting special treatment because he ships them,

(02:08:17):
let's be honest. And like he's planning on
promoting Key again is the otherthing.
Yeah, he mentions the promotion and he mentions that it will
come with more responsibilities. And since Key was the leader
here, she needs to take responsibility for this.
And PIM's inner model Hung. I love is, she says vaguely.

(02:08:37):
I recalled hearing this before it occurred to me that Kieran's
mentality must have been have been influenced by him.
No wonder Father used the word expectations when talking about
Kieran. She was a reflection of the
President and his youth, almost like a second version of him.
Even I or P pray his biological daughters could hardly compare.

(02:08:58):
So this I feel like shows that Peem's father truly only cared
about what is best for Peem. Like it really didn't matter
that he was a woman, he just hadn't thought about a woman
being with his daughter before. Like it's again, you're born
with heterotratism, you're socialized into

(02:09:18):
heteronormativity. Not born, not born with it.
Sorry, I apologize. Society tells you that.
So a man was set in his head forhis daughter, and he quickly
proved herself. And something I love is that she
proved herself while being herself.
She didn't have to change to fitwhat team's father expected.

(02:09:38):
And I think he sees this, which impresses him even more.
Yeah. Yeah, that's a really good point
because I was reading the first book and I'm like, I feel like
he's testing Key with this deal thing.
And he was in a way we'll come to find out that like he was
spying on Key the whole time to be like, is she a woman of her
word? And then also spying on the

(02:09:58):
other suitor to be like, who is actually better for my daughter?
And like Key proved herself to him time and time again that
she's the. OK, so like just really quickly,
not that he should really have this say or like that she had to
prove herself, but like, if we're gonna do it, at least I
this is the way to go. Let's do it.
Yeah, exactly. Let's let's go in.

(02:10:20):
OK. So then when he comes to visit,
he ends up having a private conversation with Peem and
that's when he tells her the truth of the deal with Key.
Yeah, And this whole conversation is just very
bittersweet because, yeah, PEM needed to know.
Yeah, PEM needed to know what happened, like why those seven

(02:10:41):
years happened. And But like, she does wish she
heard it from Ki 1st. And she says the answers I
longed to hear from Kieran were now spilling from my father's
lips. And it's so sad that she didn't
get to hear it from Ki. But again, there's no way Ki was
going to go against her father. Like it's just what we talked

(02:11:03):
about before. I said this before, there's no
way she's going to risk PM's freedom.
But here's the deal. I think it impresses and annoys
the dad because the lead up to that, the dad was like, Keystone
hasn't fucking told you about the deal.
Like he expected her to come tell Peen.
He's like, I thought when I put you 2 pictures together in
Japan, Key was just going to tell you everything.
But she didn't. She stuck to the deal.

(02:11:24):
And remember she had she's like,we're going to sign copies.
It's going to be legal and shit. She stuck to that.
I'm. Surprised that contract never
showed up. Contract never showed up and
they forgot about that. All the letters P never sent
also never came up, but I thought those were going to come
back. The pictures come back.
I think she brought up the letters once.
But like, I thought Key would get it, yeah, and get to read
it. But anyway, yeah, I'm surprised

(02:11:45):
this actual contract never came up.
But yeah, the dad was like, Oh my God, Key, for fuck's sake.
That's why he ends up telling her because he's like, I thought
Key was going to do it, but hereI do it.
Technically that was the deal, so.
I was reading that I was like, what do you expect?
You told her not to. Exactly.
He's like, I guess like he, you know, he's like, well, for me, I
would be so excited, I'd tell her.
But Key stuck to the. Letter of that contract.

(02:12:08):
She's a woman of her, which I feel like, again, impressed him
and annoyed him 'cause he was like, Oh my God, PEM, get your
woman, OK. And then he basically explains
to her, his daughter, that he did this out of love.
And like I said earlier, PEM is was so and still is a very
stubborn person. And she's like, he's like, you
wouldn't listen to anybody. And he's like, and one of the
reasons he did this is he's like, PMI wanted you to learn

(02:12:30):
how to love yourself and not just be like, Key's my whole
world. I wanted you to love yourself.
And I feel like PM did learn that because she learned, again,
learned how to be like Key of setting boundaries with you.
That's a form of I love myself, I'm protecting myself kind of
thing. Like she needed to be more a, a
stronger person and love herself.
And I think that happened. And then I like that during this

(02:12:52):
Peem, we get inside to how she feels and she's like, she's
like, I feel anger and I'm like a bunch of confusion because
like I lost seven years to misunderstanding.
So like she's upset about that, which is understandable.
And this is a lot for Peem to process.
And she basically says, well, how should I feel, Father?
This is so confusing. And I love that she says this

(02:13:13):
and this part of the conversation with her dad, I
really love. And then his or her dad responds
with feel, however you feel, do whatever it is that you want to
do, Peem And Peem says, does that mean I can be with Kieran?
And dad says that's something I expected all along.
No problem with that. It's like, bitch, why aren't you
with her right now? Right.
That's why I'm here. I'm upset.
Like get, get, get on with it. So I do love this resolution.

(02:13:33):
I love that they talk about the past directly.
Everybody takes responsibility. They process their feelings
together and resolve this. This isn't like this started
with a misunderstanding, but then everything gets resolved
because they talk about it, which I love.
It's so good, it's so good. Like there's not much more than

(02:13:54):
I can say. Like it's just so.
Good. So good.
This is a really good parent sibling conversation.
Like yeah, there was fuckery, but like parent?
Child. I love, I love that they own it,
deal with it, process it, move on because that's life.
Shit happens, you just move on. OK?
Then after this conversation, Peem processes everything the
dad said and then goes to find Kieran and she describes this

(02:14:17):
when she goes to see her as feeling like she was about to
meet Kieran for the first time. So I love that she's described
it this way because she knows the truth of everything now.
And so she now has a new perspective over the past seven
years because like she said, it was clouded and all these
misunderstandings. Now the misunderstanding shroud
is gone and she can see Kieran more clearly in a way she
couldn't before because of the misunderstanding.

(02:14:39):
So now like Kieran's love and the thing that POC said about
like keys love is letting you go.
That all became very clear, right?
So she's like, wow, this is like, it's like we're actually
being reunited as adults fully for the first time.
So that's how Peem feels going into this.
Kieran's gonna have the same reaction in a little bit.
So Peem confronts Key about everything that happened with
the father, and Key explains that she it's true, and she

(02:15:02):
agreed to the deal because, quote, I didn't want you to live
a life of constantly breaking promises to people just because
of me. I wanted you to live gracefully
the way you were supposed to. And Peem is like, well, what
would have happened if I didn't choose you in the end?
And Key says as long as in the end, Peam is happy with the
choices you have made on your own, for me, that's most

(02:15:23):
worthwhile, even if I am not theone you choose in the end.
Swoons and gay because that is the most most romantic thing of
all times anybody could ever say.
And that was so beautiful. And truly, there are a lot of
love stories that are have this kind of plot line where to love
someone to let them go. I think Ma Ma did an incredible
job with depicting that with Key'cause like her level of

(02:15:47):
devotion to PEM and PEM's well-being and happiness is
truly incredible. And I'm glad PEM got to fully
like feel that and like recognize that that's what he's
been doing the whole time. And as a reader, just reading
that line just makes you respecthe so much more.
Because again, it is never abouther.

(02:16:08):
It has always been about PEM. Yes.
Never cause most times in the relationship, it's always like
the drama they choose is like the controlling one another in
relationships and in not even just romantic.
I mean we see a lot of parental controlling too.
And it's just we're demolishing like these typical storylines.

(02:16:31):
And I'm really I really respect the storyline and he in general,
the all the characters actually really respectful except Pun.
But yeah, just have some toxic people.
Yeah, cuz that's. Life, that's life.
OK? And then Key's basically like,
OK, but I'm dying. Like who did you choose?

(02:16:53):
Like you still have a fucking fiance, right?
So who would you choose? And then Peem says the person I
chose. I made my choice a long, long
time ago, Key, I chose you basically.
You're the weirdo that I want essentially.
And then they kiss and Key describes his kiss as quote,
like we haven't seen each other in ages.
Because now for Key, that is like knowing that PIM still

(02:17:14):
chooses her despite everything that happened was the the truth
she needed from PIM, right? And then, whereas PIM needed
Key's rationale for everything that happened in the past.
So now they're like, again, the Berlin Wall is really gone.
And basically they can be 100% real with each other going
forward, which is how they fullymove forward, right?

(02:17:36):
Misunderstandings are on the trash now.
And Mama is very explicit with that because P makes the
constant's choice and she says it in her inner monologue, to
quote, throw away all the conflicting reasons from our
past, leaving them behind and let it go.
And this is emotional maturity and something PEM grew into as
an adult because baby PEM was very stubborn and vengeful.

(02:17:57):
And we'll see the vengeance whenwe come back to pun.
OK, right. Because she holds on to grudges.
And here she's like, Peen could easily hold a grudge forever.
And yeah, be with Karen, but always have that you hurt me, I
still have to hurt you kind of mentality.
But she makes the choice to be like, if this is going to work,
we really have to process the Sayer piece and move on from

(02:18:17):
this and not like use it as a weapon to hurt each other
forever kind of thing. Which is the first step to doom?
Yeah, yeah, 'cause like, I like that in this story, the
characters acknowledge what happened was fucked up, but it
already happened. And like, they can't change the
fact that it happened. All they can do is deal with

(02:18:39):
what happened, forgive each other or not, and go their
separate ways or forgive each other and move forward.
And so P makes the conscious choice to be like, that was
fucked up, but we're going to it's in the past now.
Like all we can do is move forward.
So I love that because again, people can be very spiteful when
they hold on to grudges. And Peem was that kind of

(02:19:00):
person. But here she's like, I'm not
going to be that person anymore.I've adjured, I'm moving on.
And she makes she makes the choice not because he's like,
Hey, you got to forgive me or else it's Peem's choice, which
that was the whole point for every decision she makes to be
Peems. And this was like the Apex one
to be like I'm going to forgive Key and my dad for the fucked up
shit they did. Yes, and she was.

(02:19:21):
It was like one choice that was in good faith.
But still fucked up. Yes, yeah.
But if we let it go, things can be completely.
Different. Yeah.
And going forward, she has a better relationship with Key and
her dad, Right. OK so then after this is a

(02:19:41):
ridiculous scene where Key decides to name Peem's boobs and
she names them Jelly and Puddingwhich Peem hates because she
keeps being like you can't do that Key and in her brain she's
like he keeps attempting to namemy boobs without my consent.
I really love that part's in theshow.
Wow, that's so funny. But when I was reading this

(02:20:07):
before they had this conversation in the book, he was
in the bath and she comes out with a rubber duck and she
throws it behind her. So I don't know how I still
thought this, but I. Thought.
She might have had like a coupleducks with her, and I thought
she was saying that pudding and Jelly were the name of the
ducks. She was, and she was just like
introducing them to Peem. But like, I die.

(02:20:27):
I almost bursted out laughing onthe plane here, by the way, when
I found out it was Peem's boobs. He's such an idiot.
I love her so much. She's the ultimate idiot.
Fucking she's. So good at like randomly doing.
Things randomly being an idiot because they weren't even
talking about her boobs. Nope.
Again, Key has just like. One track mark towards.

(02:20:50):
Boobs. She's a boob girl anyway, so
funny. OK, then we get back to actual
plot line stuff. So then the OG 4 of this novel
get reunited, so POC and Tan Slash Ton come back and Tan and
Slash Ton and POC are dating officially, which is really

(02:21:10):
cute. And I'm glad that by the end,
POC gets a quality boyfriend that's actually into her, which
we've talked about. And so the four of them, they're
still in Japan at this point. We're kind of wrapping up the
Japan trip and they all go out, and this is when we go back to
revisiting Key, letting POC go enough so that POC can have her

(02:21:34):
own life and own not her own life, but her own significant
other. Because POC hasn't really had a
serious relationship that we know of with anybody.
This is the first time Key is processing that and so Kia is
jealous now and she's protectiveof POC and she's like at first
she's like I she's like I'm worried that he's like leading
her on because he was in the peem for so long and what if

(02:21:57):
he's only hanging around POC to get the peem and he's not really
into POC and what if he hurts her and takes advantage of her?
So he's having a really hard time with this and basically is
like doing petty bullshit shit. Get back at Ton.
Where is she's like I know POC better than you.
I'm like, that's not POC's favorite food and like this and
that and she's all doing all this stuff.
I feel like this is what she wasworried POC was gonna do when

(02:22:19):
team and her got no. It absolutely is because he
basically is worried about beingreplaced and she's like, I'm
gonna lose POC who's been my shadow since forever, my twin
flame or whatever. And so I like that we get this
from Key's point of view where she has to process the fact that
POC already went through all of this with her to your point when
Key started seeing team and now she has to reciprocate that as

(02:22:40):
the friend on the other end of this, right So that they can all
move forward into adulthood. And like this is the last step
is like letting POC not letting her go.
But like understanding that likebecause POC has somebody else's
mean you're replaced, which is gonna be hard because they're so
fucking codependent. And I thought this was such an
important plot line because a lot of times in storytelling,

(02:23:03):
the romantic relationship gets prized above everything else.
But like, platonic friendships can be just as intense and
important to people as romantic ones.
And so we see with Key that likeher, platonic friendship with
POC is just as important, if notmore important.
No, they literally establish it's more.
Important. It's more important.
This is hence the first wife, right?
And so I thought this was a really important plot line to

(02:23:24):
show that, like, you know, you feel like you're getting
replaced in your friend's life, and that can be just as
devastating as like, a breakup with a romantic partner.
So I love that Mama wrote this in there.
And then Key feels like she's losing her friend, you know?
And just the realism of this wasreally, really spot on, I
thought. And so anyway, so Key does all

(02:23:46):
this petty shit and then finallyPOC's like, we need to talk.
And so cuz POC's the mature one,I guess he is not in this novel.
Like she knows how to have fun, but she's very mature.
She's like girl, intelligent like.
For sure. Yeah, yeah.
Not to say that POC would never, but I'm like he he's acting like
a child basically. And so they get a loan to have a
conversation and basically POC'slike, look, this was hard for me

(02:24:09):
when you started dating Peeam, but that doesn't mean our
friendship is going to change because has our friendship
changed when you started dating PM No.
And Key can also see how happy not only POC is, but like Tan is
or whatever is just as happy with POC and that helps her feel

(02:24:30):
more comfortable being like, I can see how happy everybody is.
Like this can't be a lie, you know?
Yeah, I just love the way that POC explains it.
She she says either way, you're my husband.
But I also want to have a real husband too.
It's hard for me to. Seeing you like this and jealous
meaning. Yeah.
And like, this is the first timethat Key's truly having to deal

(02:24:53):
with someone coming into the group because Peem and POC both
had to deal with this for each other as well, because they had
to accept that their package deals for Key, right?
And Key's been the one that was the glue of the group.
So now there's someone else coming into this group cuz let's
be real, he's gonna be added. Like not as big, but like

(02:25:15):
there's someone coming in between them that they need to
add not it's not gonna subtract.Yeah and I like that again, it
makes the friendship equal cuz it's not just POC sacrificing
for key all the time. It's not just POC being there
for key like key has to. If it's just really is a healthy
friendship key has to reciprocate it for POC.
Yeah, and that's a I feel like. So we talked about how, like,

(02:25:39):
prick and POC are very similar. Yeah, Prick was very much the
joke of everything. POC is so much fleshed, more
fleshed out, mature. A part of the story that's
because, like, for a number of reasons.
But the problem with the loyal pin, not that this is a problem,
but the problem in that friendship dynamic between Prick

(02:25:59):
and an N is there's an inherent power structure that they can do
nothing about. Prick was technically an N's
employee the whole time, so herethey're not.
I love that we don't have that here.
I I, yes, I very much. I love that we don't have that.
I love that even though he has abunch of money and PIM has
money, it is never wielded against POC in the story which I

(02:26:22):
just realized. Like she's never like the poor
friend or like they never like paint her like that.
Like they always Mama treats them all as like equals in the
friendship despite like first wife second wife banter and shit
but like that's never used against POC.
But also Key's parents, they don't live like they have money,
'cause they don't. They they took a little bit and

(02:26:43):
they're like, we're gonna live within our means of the money
that we make. Right.
Exactly. But like Peem didn't have that,
and Peem doesn't wield her moneyagainst the other ones.
So I mean like nobody uses moneyas a weapon, which I like.
Because it shouldn't. Be but you know, life, humans.
All right, so then that concludes our Japan trip.

(02:27:04):
And then everybody makes it backto Thailand and we go back to
the company and Key is promoted to the manager of the production
engineering department. So she does get her promotion
and PEM and Key are like officially dating but have to
navigate secretly dating at the company so that we don't make
Key's promotion seem like nepotism, which is fair, which

(02:27:26):
is fair. And then unfortunately pun comes
back because we never dealt withthe fiance who still.
No, 'cause it's always it's. I forgot that you existed.
That's. Literally him.
Anyway, so we have to deal with him.
So here's the very condensed version of what happened with.
We get a whole point of view from this chapter, which we are
not getting into in detail because who cares?

(02:27:47):
I have a little bit because like, I mean, we may not want
it. I do feel like it was important
because it did give us a good scene.
OK, here's the short summary that I have.
So basically in the background of all of this, he made it his
own deal with Peem's dad to let.Yeah, Peem's dad to marry her,
essentially. And the summary of what happened

(02:28:09):
was is that he wasn't to pee when they were children.
I think this is absolutely gross.
He fell in love with her when she was 8 years old and he was
15. That's gross.
That's. Oh yeah, I did not catch their
ages. Yeah, their ages is gross.
OK, and basically she was like, oh, she's so cute and sweet and
stuff and as a. 15 year old no no.
Yeah, it's disgusting, He asked.A 7-8 asked an 8 year old if she

(02:28:32):
would marry. Him.
Oh no, no, I did not catch theirages when I read.
This. Yep.
Those were their ages. And basically she was an 8 year
old and she was like, I guess. And then he hung on, He clung on
to that for 20 years. Basically.
That's their relationship. Yeah.
It's disgusting. Yep, it's disgusting.
And then eventually Peem essentially goes to see him and

(02:28:53):
is like, our engagement is off. I choose key.
Oh. Yes God I'm sorry I'm learning
information. Disgusting disgust.
OK and so pun is upset and you know not doesn't know how to

(02:29:14):
handle emotions. Nope.
And he goes to Peem's dad about quote rumors circulating in the
company, but Peem's dad immediately intimidates him
because he's a weak little bitch, he is.
And he begins to act timid. And there's this.

(02:29:36):
I forget whose point of view, but I'm it says seeing posits
hesitation right Page of how Kieran had requested A1 on one
meeting with him seven years ago.
Kieran never once avoided his gaze, and every word spoken
seemed well. Thought out.
This is from Peem's dad's point of view.
He's OK back. Yeah, he's poked.
Yeah, we really did get chaptersfrom everybody.

(02:29:56):
But this was like Mono does thisthing sometimes you just change
his point of view. Yeah, that's true.
Chapter and address that's. Probably why I didn't know his
point of view. Yes.
No, she does that. Yeah, but this is a good call
back to Volume 1 two, because it's showing that Pun was never
gonna be the strong person that Peem's dad said that she needed

(02:30:17):
to run the company. No.
Quiet, Quiet. Quiet.
Good, good, quiet. Just a cool girl.
Yeah, I did it. No, no.
OK. But Pun still has tons of.
Audacity. Oh my God.

(02:30:37):
And this is what he says. So you chose to let them be
together, even though they're both women.
Have you thought about how others will think, how the
company's image will be affected?
Have you considered that, Sir? Like how dare he come in and ask
these things of the president ofthe company?

(02:30:59):
Also her father. Yes, that's it dude.
Like. I.
This man and then pun asked him if he intends to break the
promise he made to his father and Peem's dad responds the
promise is void. Yep, and again, like this is
just in general, I'm glad that the dad never went back on the

(02:31:20):
promise to key like that. That wasn't the I really thought
that was going to be hard of this book.
I was really hoping I was wrong.I was wrong.
It was great because it's showing that he is a decent
father that cares about it. Sorry, that's the bottom line.
He does. Care.
He does care. And you know what?
Idol Factory, I'm begging you, please do not change this.

(02:31:40):
No. That's actually Please don't
change it. Please don't do it.
I'm so scared. Please don't do it.
He's like, the major thing that I'm scared about right now is
that you're gonna change. It I'm scarred because you did
change the last episode of the loyal pin and it really pissed
me off with Inan's dad and caused a bunch of drama that was
unnecessary just to drag out that episode and I don't love
that. Whereas it was really nice the

(02:32:01):
way it was written and we could have had more happy moments, but
you went for drama. That pisses me off.
So please don't change this. I'll be really pissed off if
they change this. This is like a huge pop.
This is a huge pop. We get a good dad we have.
Want the good dad please. Good.
And we don't deal with the shenanigans.
It's so well done. It's so well done.
So I love this. And and basically like after he

(02:32:22):
calls off the deal, he's basically like, well, my
daughter can make her own choices.
And he's also like, plus key is a better match for my daughter
because dad, yeah, because he drops it here.
He's like, I had a private investigator following both of
you essentially. And so he's like, I know you've
been cheating on my daughter with multiple women.
The. Entire time.
Yeah, the entire. Time and he's like, and I

(02:32:43):
followed Key around and Key was basically getting wasted at bars
of POC on her birthday. That's all she that's all he saw
that's what the private investigator saw let's be
honest. And so he's like, this is done
and then Peem officially calls off the engagement and she
explains why she stayed engaged to him because again I'm like,

(02:33:04):
what is she doing but basically it was again that petty you hurt
me, I'm gonna hurt you shit. That team was much more like
when she was younger. So this is Peem coming full
circle and learning to be emotionally mature.
And basically she was, she was seeking revenge because of Pun
sending the engagement photos toKey.

(02:33:24):
She was pissed off about that. For seven years.
She held on to an engagement just so she can be like, I
wanted to give you some hope so I can step on it.
That's literally all. She did this for vengeance.
And so now that she, like has learned to move on from the past
and forgive people, she does it with Pun and she's like, we're
done. I'm not interested in hurting
you anymore. I hope we can be friends again,

(02:33:46):
that this is over and she moves on.
She moves on from this. She's like, whatever, you can
hate me be my friend, but this is over.
So I love it. I love that Peem matures and
does this. It was really great hashtag
growth. So then we have a new
arrangement that comes about. So then Peem and Key start, I

(02:34:07):
guess openly dating at the company or whatever they're
doing and basically Peem or not Peem Peem's dad talks to Kieran
one day and he's like, listen Ki, I'm really getting tired of
my daughter coming home late every night and like pouting and
shit when she does. And he's like, how about Peem
just stays with you? That way I don't have to worry
every night and he's like, just make sure you do it the right

(02:34:28):
way Kieran. So I love this.
It's like the dad's way of beinglike you can marry my daughter,
but please marry her faster so Idon't have to deal with her
being sad all the time. Can you guys just get married
already? Yes, basically what he's.
Doing the way he says this, though, makes Ki think that he's
saying that she can't stay that late at Kee's house anymore and

(02:34:48):
and she's like, I'm so sorry. It's.
Like I just want her to move in just.
Marry. No, they just.
Yeah, just keep her. Just keep her Exactly.
It's so cute. So then, OK, so then that's the
dad being like, please just marry my daughter already, Kee.
And then Key's grandmother enters the chat and she invites
Peem and her dad over for dinner.
Remember, she's this prestigious, wealthy woman and
he and she's been somebody that, like Peem's dad, has idolized

(02:35:10):
for a very long time. Aren't they going to their
house? They go to, No, they go to,
they're going to Keys or well, yeah, I guess whatever.
It doesn't matter. They're having family dinner or
whatever. It's 'cause this is arranged by
Key's grandmother, so she entersthe chat to do this and he's
like, that's great and all, but he's like, what's with this
giant procession of people in this band and like, why do we

(02:35:33):
have offerings and all this stuff?
So basically the grandmother concocts like the engagement
ceremony. What about telling Key and like
POC was involved because. Of course she.
Was and key's like I she's like why are we in the middle of a
marriage proposal ceremony and she's the one that's going to
have to do the proposing It's I love how like funny he.

(02:35:55):
And he don't know about this. No, everybody else I really.
Want a scene between the grandmother and POC?
Just like inspiring. I just really want the scene.
This is going to be so cute. So then at the dinner, OK, so
then Key's like, I guess I'm getting married, I guess.
And they go to this dinner. And so the heads of the house,
which is Key's grandmother and then Peem's dad are talking

(02:36:16):
about the dowry. And like all they're making the
wedding arrangements essentiallybeing like, OK, we'll, we'll
make the marriage contract. This is how much Key is worth or
all these things. And like, like, it's just really
sweet to see how supportive the families are and how they both
know that their granddaughter slash daughter are both idiots.

(02:36:36):
And they're like, we have to take it upon ourselves to do the
work for them to get married 'cause they they're taking like
pop pop's like this is taking forever.
And they're like, this is takingforever.
It's a family affair. It takes a village to get the
the lesbians to get married. That's basically a key and the
lesbian's village. It's so funny though.

(02:36:57):
But I do love at the dinner. So I have to like they're like
settled deal though, get marriedwithout anybody actually
proposing the the families decide they're getting married
and then they actually have likefamily dinner.
And I think it's Key's point of view And she notices that like
the families are bonding and she's she's like, oh, I was
really touched by the fact that like she's like my dad is
usually quiet and really shy waslike lighting up and talking to

(02:37:18):
Peem a lot. So it's really cute that they're
like getting to know each other. It was very sweet.
It was really cute. And I hope we get this dinner.
It's like they're so naturally A1 family.
Well, it's like Key is also shy.And like, I guess she's like her
dad and so like she, he would like feel comfortable around
Peem and like talk to her the way Key does.
They're just very cute. OK, so then this ends.

(02:37:41):
We're going to wrap up the storysoon.
So basically Key's parents, one's an that's an architect,
mom's an interior designer. So like as a gift they made on
their land that they own, they made a house for Key and they
it's finally done and they give it to her and Ki takes Peem to
see this house and basically tells her, well, it's not just

(02:38:01):
mine, it's it's ours. This is gonna be our house.
And then that's when she proposes to Peem, which of
course Peem's like, yes, duh. She said no, what the what is
the story? But the story behind the ring is
really cute. So Ki bought the ring and she's
like, look, I know the diamonds are small or whatever, but she's
like, I bought it for my own money, not my family's money
because I wanted to be able to do this for you.
So I love that like he did this because it's more personal.

(02:38:26):
The key was like, I got you thisso I could propose even though
the families did it. But I love that key put in all
of her effort for Peen that way.It was really sweet.
And then Mama likes to do this thing where when the petite
character gets engaged, they become like a bridezilla
basically. So basically, like Pin, once

(02:38:47):
Peem's got that engagement ring on her finger, she finally,
finally feels secure in the relationship and starts taking a
more dominant role. So then Peem noticed she's like,
oh, Peem's taking charge in the bedroom.
She never does that. And then POC also notices.
And then she compares Peem to Gollum from Lord of the Rings at
some point. This is so funny.
And she's like, we got to throw that ring in a volcano because

(02:39:07):
like, it's Peem like taking charge and terrorizing everybody
because she's like, he's mine. She can't get out of this and
she finally is not like insecureanyone.
So she's terrorizing everybody in the house.
That's so funny. All right.
And then Ma and ma book ends this with Key's birthday now
that everything is more settled. And so Key, POC and PEM arrive

(02:39:29):
back at the house and PEM goes inside.
So Key can spend a little bit oftime with POC.
And so she takes POC out to thisguest house that's on the
property. And peems like all right, I'm
gonna go to bed, I'll let you 2 have some time to get.
I love that she lets POC and Keyhave this moment that's about to

(02:39:50):
happen alone. Like she doesn't insert herself.
The only thing she does is she'slike key do not come back in the
house. She's like be inside by 11:50 or
something. Like she gives her a time limit
that she has to come inside by. But yeah, she gives the time.
It's cute. So Key takes POC inside this
house and POC is immediately drawn to this magnificent

(02:40:11):
artwork, which is a giant painting of Beyoncé that's in
this house and. I just love how Oh my God like
this. So I'm just gonna read this
because it's hilarious. She's like, jeez, why do you
have a picture of mother in yourroom?
You changed your taste recently. And look at the bed sheets.
They're the same yellow, green color.
I love this isn't like you at all and like once I read this I

(02:40:34):
had a feeling I knew what was happening.
Actually I thought I think I thought it was her bedroom in
the house. But anyway.
But before POC gets to know everything they have a drink
together and POC asked he if shewants a softballed egg to which
Kieran responds they don't have eggs.

(02:40:57):
And then POC was like, no worries, I brought some from
Mom's and then Percy used to pull that one, put two eggs out
of her pants. And so Keith.
Keith then asks if she does thisoften and POC says it's only the
third time I've done it, which Ithink is hilarious because it's
not one, not two that now it's three times.
That's a habit, POC. This is a habit.

(02:41:18):
Oh my God, they're ridiculous. So then after that, after POC
eats a snack, Key explains to POC the real reason she's here.
And she's like, I'm giving you this house like I had it made
for you. So I guess when the parents were
like designing this place, he probably asked them can you make
a guest house on the property soshe could give it to POC.

(02:41:38):
And POC's confused. She's like, I already have a
house, why are you giving me another one?
And keys? Like says, I want you to be in
every step of my life 'cause she's about to get married and
like, you know, move on into a new phase of her life.
And she's basically telling Pop,like, I don't want you to be
left behind. I want you with me.
And then Pop's like, OK, that's great.
But like, it's your birthday andyou're giving me a big giant

(02:42:01):
gift. Why are you doing that?
And Key's response is the most pure and beautiful thing I've
ever heard. And Key says you've given me
everything already. POC, thank you for all these
years of my birthday. You've been helping me get
through the horrors of that night when she left Peem.
Thank you for always being by myside, never leaving me to fight
alone. But like the line, you've given

(02:42:24):
me everything already. POC, I know that.
OK, I will say I texted the aurawhen I was reading this.
I'm like, I know this book is making me cry.
Cute. This was the cutest thing I.
I love this friendship so much I.
Love their friendship. This was a.
Because they are everything to each other.
And again, it's like it's not the romantic relationship, it's

(02:42:45):
the platonic 1. But then yes, there's that.
But then POC's like, oh, wait, he PEM got me something too.
And it's basically a sign to putover the front door that says
servant's house because it's PEM's way of saying just
remember your place, remember your place.
He's mine. So funny.
So we always have to have that. But yeah, it's very sweet.

(02:43:07):
So that's how things end with POC, which is just perfection.
And then he goes into the house, like her, the main house, and
finds that Peem lit a bunch of candles like leading to like the
staircase. And then on the staircase, it's
like lined with photos. And she's like, these are all
photos of me. And basically this is a call

(02:43:28):
back to volume 1 where Peem usedto take photos of, you know,
Key. And she's basically showing them
all the years that like she's been like in love with Key
basically. And finally Key gets this top of
the stairs and then Peem is there.
And then Peem gifts her another gift, which is she made siblings
for Piggy, which are Oinky and porky.

(02:43:50):
And then she's like peeing so funny.
She's like, do these look better?
Peeves? Like they're cute.
She's like, why? She's like, I love you.
So I don't know if these actually look more like pigs
than the other. One she's like, did I get?
Any better at this? He's like, sure, darling,
whatever. So over the years, there's.
Gonna be like. A pig every anniversary.

(02:44:11):
It's so funny again. So now they have more children,
essentially because like, Piggy's their child.
And then at the end, the best birthday gift is that PEM
finally, at the end of the book, says out loud to Key.
I love you. And Key responds.
That is the most beautiful word I've ever heard in my life.
And that's how it ends. So cute.

(02:44:33):
But it's not the very end. No, that's not the special
chapter, but that's how the the novel ends.
Then we get to the most unhingedchapters of all time.
The for start off real strong with several chapters in the
beginning from Key's cat's pointof view, because they at some
point they adopt it. Well, they don't adopt.
She finds a stray cat and then ends up being their cat.

(02:44:54):
And like the cat's point of viewis how we start off the special
chapter. So it's already starting off in
a wild place. All I.
I can say is justice for the catand POC needs custody and he can
have visiting rights. Basically the problem I have

(02:45:16):
with the cat is that team gets irrationally jealous of the cat
and then like throws it outside and throws it in trash bins and
stuff, which is fucked up. It's not OK, but getting the
cat's point of view. Not something I was expecting in
special chapters. There's more than one, by the
way. Well, no.
The next one's from Key's point of view, but it's still about
the cat. Oh, OK.
But anyway, starting off strong with Cat's point of view, then

(02:45:37):
we get POC's point of view and we get like insight into POC's
life in show business and her new job and her love life a
little bit and her new job working on basically some show
that's like the 12 Thai bachelors you want to hug.
And essentially it's like this workplace dramedy, I guess,

(02:45:58):
where all these men are like falling for POC.
And like Pond Ma hints that likethis might be her next book.
And I really hope it is, becauseit seems amazing.
Just give well no it's the book but give POC the the lead and
then make it into a show so lookthem can have.
Her I agree. So yeah.

(02:46:19):
But I want this book. But there's at some point she's
taking a taxi to the film set. It's the second to last day of
filming. And while in the taxi she just
starts randomly singing this. And I wanted to highlight it
because it's so real. So she's singing our team.
I don't know if this is a real song by the way.
I do. I tried looking it up.

(02:46:39):
We are the world kept popping up.
It was not We are the world, it says our team.
We are the ones behind the scenes, the creators, bringing
happiness to others. Sweat and hard work contribute
to society, yet no one praises us.
Still, we take pride in it and Ijust wanted to highlight it
because it this really can't be said enough because there are so

(02:47:02):
many people working behind the scenes to like they don't get
enough recognition. We see the actors.
They're the people who were a lot of people are giving credit
to like just the actors, but. I know.
Like you can, you can see some of the stuff that people behind
the scenes do, you're just not realizing it.

(02:47:22):
And I really recommend going on IMDb, going through the crew
list because just look at the job titles 'cause they're so you
don't even know what these jobs do, but they're so important
that you could not do this show or this the any project without
each one of them. And I wanna.

(02:47:43):
Tell you about one job. That's wild.
Caitlin knows. So we have a mutual friend who
works for Lucasfilm, and her jobis she's basically a character
historian. That is her job.
Yeah. Yeah.
She's a historian, so her job isto take photo.

(02:48:03):
Like, she has a crew that takes photos of all the actors playing
characters. She categorizes them like, logs
them, like they help with, like, making toys and things like
that. And so they're the record
keepers of the history of Lucasfilm.
That's her whole job. She's on the credits for like
she worked on Acolyte might havebeen and or like a lot of the

(02:48:24):
Bad Batch, bad Batch bad or skeleton crew.
She worked on that. So if you look through the, you
can see her name in the credits. So yeah.
That's so cool, just like you. Know she's super cool that's a
really random job, but like you would never think of it.
I never heard of this job until she was explaining it and it
might just be like a Lucasfilm thing, one of the ways they
offer or like one of the. Things that I have like a legacy

(02:48:45):
brand like with so many. Things going on, yeah, 'cause
like one of the reasons her job exists is because, like, they
never know which character is gonna get popular.
Yeah. So then it's her job to to take
be a historian cause and they'relike, we need more shit about
this character. And then they have to take the
images that her team does to make toys and merchandise and
stuff like that. But anyway, so like, yeah, my

(02:49:07):
problem with this show is that already is that people are going
to be like, oh, this is all famedoing this.
But it's like Mama wrote the masterpiece.
First of all, don't forget that this all comes from a novel.
So credit where credit's due. She made this.
They're good actors to play these characters, but she owns
the characters. And then Idol Factory and their
team has to get the locations, the other crew, the other cast

(02:49:30):
members, all the crew members. We're gonna light it.
Who? Who the editor to put together
the pilot was already impressive.
Like the transitions, like everything they did, the
graphics, like, yeah, Famie are gonna be the face of it because
they're the main lead actors, but they are not the only two
people that put this together. Yeah, there's so.
There's so many. People, I have a lot more to say

(02:49:51):
about this and I'm just gonna gothrough it quickly and just read
it because it's, I do find it important and people don't
realize it because like seriously, go on IMDb.
Maybe it's not for like every show.
Cause like some shows, especially if they're smaller,
they're not going to input it. But there are like pick your
favorite movie, pick your favorite show, go on IMDb,

(02:50:14):
search for it, look at the crew list and look into some of the
people further. Because like you got to support
them and know them because they deserve and are damn good at
their jobs, which is which is very thankless in this field.
And people don't realize how brutal conditions are on set and

(02:50:37):
how long. Like yeah, it's 1216 hour days
and. It's insane.
They're rough. You do not get a break and
especially the below the line crew, and I just want to go over
this really quickly because there's above the line and below
the line. Do you know about that?
No, I didn't. OK, so above the line refers to

(02:51:00):
creative leadership and key decision makers.
They clues, directors, writers, producers, the lead actors,
principal, like the top billing people.
And these are people who are involved in the production the
longest. They're from like the beginning
to the end. They're called above the line
because their salaries are negotiated before production
even begins and are a big. Part of the budget?

(02:51:24):
And this term has started to become used colloquially to
refer to someone's high importance on set, which I hate.
I hate this because everyone, you need everyone to get this
project made. And it's making it sound like
above the line people are the end all be all because the above

(02:51:47):
the line crew often get the spotlight.
They get the awards and they getthe public recognition.
You know the names, you know thenames of directors, you know the
names of producers, you know, ofcourse, the cast.
They're getting the interviews. Yeah, their names are front and
center in marketing and credits, but below the line refers to the
technical and support crew. The ones who are supporting

(02:52:08):
every aspect of this production that happened day-to-day and
includes Cam OPS, sound text gaffers which are lighting
grips. So that's like all like the
wires and stuff. I believe I really should know
that I went to school for half of this editors set design,
hair, makeup, costume productionassistance.
That's very thankless job. Thank you to all the P as out

(02:52:29):
there because your job sucks. I've done it.
I hated it. You need so much energy anyway
and there's so many jobs, like there's way too many to live.
So their work can start at any point in the project and below
the jobs are usually paid hourlyor by the days or week.

(02:52:50):
So their pay is part of the production budget.
And there's a line separating like the big part of the budget,
like that's negotiated beforehand and like the unknowns
because things can change with below the line people.
Yeah, cuz it's like what if you planned for, they're in Japan 10
days, but like what if they planned to be on this location
for like only this number of hours and they're like crap,

(02:53:12):
something happened, it rained, we need to extend it then they
need to keep those hourly peoplegoing so.
Like then you got overtime if you miss if you miss a meal like
a lunch period, you're billed. Like that's why unions are big
cuz if you miss a lunch period, those people have to get paid
more. If they don't get out at a
certain time, you the woman getspushed back the next day because

(02:53:32):
they need a set amount of time in between.
That's why you wanna be union. So when it's a non union, and
this is for America, I only knowthe American ones because that's
where I live. That's who I've worked with too.
So that's my I do not know how it works in Thailand.
I would love to talk to somebody.
I really wanna know how the process works there.

(02:53:54):
GMMTV please. Slash factory.
Yeah, I mean, I won't. Take anyone.
I was just like, we, we've been talking about GMMTV shows so
much that I was like, I really would love to go see especially
how they do ensemble shows. Oh my God, that's the only
reason why I said that. But yes, I will.
I would love to visit any production company that works
over there creating these shows and just see how they work and

(02:54:14):
what their roles are. What I would love to say it, but
again, back to below the line. Those crew are the backbone of
every project because the work is behind the scenes.
You don't they don't get interviewed, they don't walk the
red carpet. Like some of them are not even
invited to red carpets. It's influencers that get
invited over the people who workon the film.

(02:54:35):
And that was like, I've seen a quite a few tik toks about that.
I forget which movie. Well, I mean it happens all the
time. And there are the names that are
at the end of the credits that no one's staying for.
So I, if you're listening, stilllistening to this right now.
Thank you, first of all. But also, I was taught in

(02:54:56):
university in a editing class, actually, you stay till the very
end to the very last credit rolls on that film.
And then you leave once the lights come up because that's
giving the respect to every single person, whether you read
the names or not. Like there is a lot of names I
tried sometimes, like even the Marvel ones that are very, very
long. Just staying to give the time.

(02:55:18):
Like you're still that time is like you're appreciating the
fact that even if it's long, that means there's so many
people that worked on that film and you're just giving that
respect to sit there. I want to say that cause yeah, I
have, I have a friend who works at Lucasfilm.
And then every once in a while they'll, they show, they have

(02:55:38):
their own private theater. And so they'll do like they did
the 30th anniversary. It was 30th of Rise of the Sith,
the Star Wars movie. And so my friend was like, hey,
you want to come see it at Lucasfilm?
And so anytime they do screenings there of anything,
nobody, the, the lights stay offand everybody sets until all of

(02:55:59):
the credits have rolled because people in that room are their
names are up there and they've, they were.
And it's cute because the location we're at is, I think
it's Lucas sound. So anytime Lucas sound comes up,
everybody starts clapping cause like they are crew members.
And so they sit there for all the crew names and like clap at
the ones they know and stuff. And it's really cute.
So like, I appreciate the peoplethat work behind the scenes

(02:56:23):
'cause they're real people. I know some of them, yes.
And. And.
POC is one of them, so I like the insert of MA and MA putting
a crew member in. Yeah.
And it's like like the thanklessjob because like.
Thankless. On set above the line people
will have more comfortable working digital most of the

(02:56:44):
time. So there's trailers there like
they have assistants, they can be flexible with schedules while
the below the line crew, they work law, it's physically
demanding in all weather and they don't get as many perks or
brakes like it's. Not.
They're sometimes they're not even paid.
Well, of course not. And there's a hierarchy there

(02:57:05):
too, because like the above, theline people might not treat
below the line people well. And that goes for the same like
with the respect for the shows. But at the end of the day, the
production cannot happen withoutthese people.
And that's why I just urge all of you to really give them the
respect, the recognition. That's why we as a podcast, try
to have as many crew members on as well.

(02:57:28):
If you know, I, I don't know if you anybody listening to this
right now follows Motherland, but we interviewed so many
people from that show. So many.
Warrior. None.
Yeah Warrior 9 and we try to like do a couple crew members,
we reach out to people if they want to come on cuz some people
love their privacy cuz Internet yeah but they all deserve the

(02:57:51):
recognition so. Yeah, glad we had POC.
To give us that representation. Thank you POC because.
Thank you POC. You're doing a great job.
All right. And so then after we get the POC
novel, you know, preview, I hopewe then actually end this with
character interviews. Like Mon Ma has her characters

(02:58:12):
come to this location and they have to do this interview with
some person whose name we don't get.
Is it Mon Ma? Is it somebody else?
We had a whole debate about this.
We don't know. It's super ambiguous.
But anyway, every character is always like, do I really have to
do this? And then, like, whoever's
interviewing them is like, I, I'm paying you, and they're
like, all right, I guess I'll doit for paying me.
I thought she was like, pay her own characters to have an

(02:58:34):
interview is fucking hilarious because like, yeah.
And they keep getting threatenedto get their payment taken away.
Right, exactly. So it was so fucking funny.
Like this was absolutely hilarious.
It was a really funny way to like give extra insight into the
character and just a really charming and fucking funny way
by having them being interviewed.

(02:58:54):
I thought it was so funny. What a funny way to end the
book. I just had a couple quick things
to point out about these interviews because the first
they have, they asked for their scientific name.
Oh my God, which I was dying at.I'm like, what do you mean
scientific? Name and like POC and key are
like dinosaur names. Like it was, yeah.
It was so funny. And then POC's job, I just love

(02:59:16):
that it's freelancer in entertainment industry because
it's so real. You're just freelancing going
from job to job. That's rough too.
By the way, Oh my God, wait, no.And then we get to keys and then
key, I think one of the questions like favorite,
favorite body part? Or Oh my God, yeah, it was like
fingers and tongue or something.Like that, she writes, she says

(02:59:39):
that and like the next question is like, please explain why.
And she's like, well, I wouldn'thave put that if I read the next
question. And then like the next question
is like in narrative form. Right, just like I'm done now
and but and then I think it's like favorite food or something
and she says pudding in Jelly, which are Peems boobs.
And then when we go to Peem and we get to favorite body part,
she says my chest and then. If you're just like, please

(03:00:03):
explain. And she's basically like, well,
somebody's really obsessed with it.
And that makes me feel good about myself.
So it was like nice to hear pee and being like the attention I
get from Kee, even though it's annoying that she named my
boobs. She's like it, you know, gives
me a self-confidence boost that like my wife is this into me or
whatever. Oh my God, wait, no, when it was
like marital status or whatever key put single dot dot dot wait.

(03:00:26):
I guess I'm married now and thenPeeam is just like married next.
It's so funny. They're so stupid.
I love. Them.
This interview was so unhinged. If you haven't read the book,
just go read this interview in the back.
It doesn't spoil anything at all.
The novel, it's just really fucking funny.
Like if you're like, no, I want to see the series first.

(03:00:46):
First of all, why did you listento this?
Second of all, that interview was so unhinged, wonderful,
hilarious. But like Keys answered her, best
of luck. She does all these things and
then at the end she says. But the best luck is probably
being born as Perati's best friend, and then they this is
her action when she filled it out.

(03:01:09):
At this point, Kieran quickly covers the questionnaire with
her hand and casts A wary glanceat Paradi.
Because you can't know that but like.
It's so. Cute.
They're such idiots. They that relationship again.
This proves that that relationship is the end all be
all like that is the number one in.
Her life, yeah. I love that they emphasized a

(03:01:31):
friendship. And it's such a beautiful
relationship. It's so good.
I love it. This book, these books were
amazing. Thank you, Mama.
Your writing is spectacular. I love your characters and your
stories. They're just so great.
But that concludes volume to, but we can't just wrap it up

(03:01:51):
there. So we're going to give you our
Taylor Swift song. So I think for volume to, I'm
going to go with that's how you get the girl.
So lines in particular are standing there like a ghost
shaking from the rain. She'll open up the door and say,
are you insane? So this is like Key and peeing
being reunited after the bad breakup and peeing's like what
the fuck are you doing here, Key?
And all those feelings and memories coming back.

(03:02:12):
Like you can feel like you're being haunted by the past, like
the ghost standing there like a ghost and then the chorus.
And then you say I want you for worse or for better.
I would wait forever and ever broke your heart.
I'll put it back together. I would wait forever and ever.
And that's how it works. That's how you get the girl.
That's basically what Key does to get Keem.
So I think that fits. That is really true.

(03:02:34):
Mine's a little unhinged. Just like this book.
Perfect. And this book is so unhinged.
So my song is Long live, but it's about the Pocky gang.
Because not everything has to bea romantic relationship.
Because this Pocky gang went from being chaotic little
underdogs to becoming successfuladults.

(03:02:55):
And they know they are meant foreach other.
So let's go through these lines. So Long live all the mountains
we moved. I had the time of my life
fighting Dragons with you. I was it's taking everything in
me not to sing this by the way Iwas screaming.
Long live that look on your faceand bring on all the pretenders.
One day we will be remembered. Hold on to spinning around

(03:03:15):
confetti falls to the ground made these memories break our
fall. So these two have so many great
and happy memories growing up together and being absolutely
ridiculous that they will alwayshave these things to fall back
on no matter what. And then the song continues.
Will you take a moment? Promise me this, that you'll
stand by me forever. But if, God forbid, fate should

(03:03:37):
step in and force us into a goodbye.
If you have children, someday, when they point to the pictures,
please tell them my name. Tell them how the crowds went
wild. Tell them how I hope they shine.
Long live the walls we crash through.
I had the time of my life with you.
Yeah. It's so.
Cute. It's so.
Cute. Oh my God.

(03:04:00):
Because this, this would be them.
And I can this is where we're going to get my unhinged moment.
Yeah, this is my fan fiction that I warned Theora about that
we were doing notes that are like Theora, I'm running a fan
fiction. OK, So I can see them both
actually having this conversation where key is this
is in like this savvy moment. I get into these moments and

(03:04:23):
then I end up texting Theora. Sorry, but while they're like
sitting on a curb, I just imagine them sitting on the
street on like a curb somewhere somehow, and they're saying
something like this. All right, so I'm just going to
say the name and then the line. All right, so key POC, if we
aren't friends one day, will youpromise to tell your future kids
about me? POC hits key.

(03:04:45):
Are you breaking up with me? No, I just want to know you
won't forget about me. POC.
Don't worry, Key. I will tell Mama all about our
adventures. I will tell her you're Beyoncé.
POC. Key, I don't like talking like
this. We have the Pocky gang.
We will always be together. Just promise me fine, Key.

(03:05:07):
I promise to tell my future kidsthat you are my soul mate.
A few seconds of silence passes.Key.
Yeah. POC.
Will you tell your future kids about me?
Yeah. POC.
A few more sombre seconds pass until POC snaps out of it, hits
Key's knee as she stands up and says great, now let's go get
some food. I haven't eaten in ages POC it's

(03:05:29):
been an hour. Whatever, I need a snack.
Yep. That's Canon now.
You heard it here first. Hope you enjoyed.
Hope you enjoyed. All right, so that brings us to
the Big Gay Energy Award. What gets the Big Gay Energy
Award for you? Honestly, I really love Keys key

(03:05:52):
naming. Peem's boobs had a lot of big.
Energy. Yeah, that and then also the way
Key used the ice cream to kiss Peem.
That was so fucking bold. That's really good.
I don't know. There's also a really funny
moment that we didn't talk aboutwhere, Like, Key is really into

(03:06:14):
PEM wearing a kimono. And she's basically like, just
promise me tonight you'll learn nothing under the kimono.
And PEM's like, OK, girl. So then later on that that's
when Tan comes back. And then Key is like, yes, me
and PEM are gonna have our honeymoon tonight.
And then POC ends up staying in the room with them.
And so then she gets twat blocked by POC.
And then PEM's like, I kept my promise, Key.
I'm wearing nothing under the robe.

(03:06:35):
And he's like, God damn it. And she starts like squeezing
what she thinks is PEM's leg. And then POC's like, Key, stop
squeezing my leg. It's just like a mess that had a
lot of big energy. It's really.
Fun. All right, I don't have a big
energy work, so. Many.
I have a useless gay energy I want.
Oh my God. Key.
And this is, yeah, it's key, trying to convince herself that
she didn't see anything when therobe was I.

(03:06:56):
Didn't see her pink lacing nightgown.
It's like, Oh my God, Key. That was really funny.
That had big energy. She's a boob girl.
Yes, you love it, love to see it.
OK. Well, we've had another long
episode about somewhere somehow, and I want to know if you made
it this far. So here is your I it's just a

(03:07:16):
word, but there's multiple. I don't know because I picked a
Thai word and it means I I wanted the word Thai word for
unhinged. Perfect.
But I think it it translates insanity according to Google
Translate. So unhinged or insanity.
Either would. And I believe you say it sia

(03:07:38):
sati, so good luck spelling thatif you're not Thai.
Yes. And use it.
In a comment review Oh my God, leave us a use a review in Thai
that'd be amazing yeah, that would be amazing you're.
