In this SPECIAL MEMBER'S ONLY episode PREVIEW, a witness recounts a terrifying Bigfoot encounter south of Bethany, Missouri that changed his life forever. As a teenager working with horses late at night, he came face-to-face with a giant, upright, hair-covered creature that stood eye-level with him while he sat on horseback. The encounter took place near a ranch dead pit, where the creature rose to full height, revealed red reflective eyes, emitted a deep, unnatural grunt, and fled into the surrounding woods.

The witness later returned to the scene and discovered large humanlike footprints, measuring far larger than any normal person’s.This firsthand account explores the behavior of Sasquatch, animal reactions to Bigfoot sightings, and why so many encounters occur in rural Missouri. If you’re interested in true Bigfoot stories, Sasquatch encounters, cryptid eyewitness testimony, and unexplained ranch experiences, this episode delivers a chilling and credible report you won’t forget.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
How you doing good?

Speaker 1 (00:55):
Are you coming up to share a Bigfoot story?

Speaker 2 (00:57):
Yeah? Actually you were looking for a bigfoot story in Missouri?

Speaker 1 (01:04):
Oh yeah, feel free to share what you know about
uh Missouri bigfoot? Sir.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
Okay, well, I'm fifty four now. I was sixteen then,
so that had been in nineteen eighty seven and it
was south of Bethlete, Missouri, and I had it was

(01:32):
nighttime when I had the horses out out in the pasture,
and I always kept two horses in, so I go
out and bring the horses in at night. And uh,
so I went out there to go bring them in.
It was dark, and I don't know if you were
the listeners, remember, but you remember those little plastic, real

(01:55):
cheap flashlights they used to have back then. Sure, yep, yeah,
like you get more light sticking your finger in your
eye than you could posting. But well, anyway, so I
sat on my horse. Now, my horse is seventeen hands tall,
so that makes him roughly this little over five foot
at the withers. So I'm got the horse sidled up.

(02:19):
I ride out in the pasture. I got this light,
and I go to the go across the first pasture,
come to the second gate, and he stopped. He didn't
want to go through the gate. So you know, you
always you always listen to your horse because you know

(02:40):
they smell it or hear it before you do. But
I went ahead and made him go through the gate.
And I was hollering for the other horses to come
up and they weren't coming. So I'm headed down this hill,
and I could hear some of My horse stopped again,

(03:00):
and he's looking forward, and I could hear something at
the bottom of the hill. Now, at the bottom of
the hill, it is what we'd call a dead pit.
So if anything that dies on the ranch, it goes
down there in that pit. And so the previous owners,
they had a horse that had died, had been down there.

(03:21):
And so I pushed my horse forward a little bit
more and made him go down that way, and I
could hear something down in this bottom, and I got
the flashlight on, and I can't see a thing, and

(03:42):
so I keep going, and I made him go that way.
He wanted to turn to the left, and I wouldn't
let him. I made him go straight south to where
the noise is coming from, because I thought it was
the horses down there round by that pit. So I'm
hollering for him, and I got finally got close enough
where I could see something, and I could tell it

(04:05):
was harry or had hair on it, so I hollered again.
I started naming off horses. I had seventy four of
them out there, so I'm naming off horses, and my
horse is just he's locked up, he's froze. He's ears forward,
head forward and just looking and he starts doing that
heavy breathing the horses do. He didn't snorter nothing yet,

(04:29):
but he's just like he's on red alert. And so
I'm just sitting there and I got that LFE signing
there and I can see it moving and then I
seen it turn and it stood up. Stood. It stood

(04:49):
directly up. Now I'm on an incline, so from where
I was at to the bottom of that hill, if
you just run a straight line from my chest straight
out and then go down to the bottom, that had
been roughly around ten to twelve foot and I'm on

(05:09):
a sixteen and a half or seventeen hand horse. And
it stood up and it was eye level with me
on the back of that horse, and it was probably
about twenty yards from me. And as I'm holding that light,

(05:31):
you could see it. It turned and it looked right
at me, and the light shining on its eyes was red,
which is fairly normal for predators, and it's the space
between its eyes was ten to twelve inches wide, and

(05:52):
it's just looking at me, and it made this grunt
puff I've never heard of before, and it went back
down and then it took off. Well, it turned around
and it took off, and I heard it running through
the brush and go up into the woods, and I

(06:13):
turned my horses, let my horse have his head, and
let him take off, and we took off with a
dead run across that pasture, down over across the pondam
and to the other side, and all the horses were
down in the corner and scared when I got When
I got down there, they was happy to see me,
and we all went flying up to the barn. I
went out the next day, and I've told part of

(06:36):
this story, but this is the part that I didn't
tell anybody. I went back down there next day on
foot with rifle in hand, and I found human footprints
down there, eleven to twelve inches long, and that's pretty
much it. Never seen or heard anything ever again. And

(06:58):
I just kind of catch my mouth shut about it.

Speaker 1 (07:02):
Sir, that is absolutely incredible man back in nineteen eighty seven.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (07:08):
Yeah, So a few questions for you, I'm going to
think through real quick. So you took your flashlight and
you you shined it up in its face, saw the
red eyes. Were you able to see any details about
the face itself besides the eyes.

Speaker 2 (07:25):
Nope, none at all. Okay, my first initial thought, because
I was originally from Michigan, my first initial thought was
it was a bear, but they didn't have any bears there.
But that's initially what I thought. But when it turned
its head, I didn't see a snout. That's literally all
I can tell you is I remember seeing hair because

(07:47):
like my initial thought was because when I first seen
the movement, I thought it was a horse. While I
hollered songed up a little bit more and my horse
locks up and so I could see the hair was longer.
That's about all I could tell. And when it stood
up and looked, that's all I could see was the
red eyes and you know, about ten twelve inches space
in between. And when it turned sad, I didn't see

(08:10):
no snout, didn't see no teeth. That's I can I remember.
The hair was It looked to me like it was
a kind of brownish black color, but that was hard
to tell. That's the best that I can remember.

Speaker 1 (08:25):
Absolutely. When you're there, the state is Missouri, guys, it's
just south of Bethany. When you were there, were you
smelling anything else besides the smell of the horse you
were on.

Speaker 2 (08:38):
Oh yeah, I did. I smelled dead, but I you know,
kind of kind of a dead smell, but I just
figured that was the pit.

Speaker 1 (08:45):
Oh that's true, because you were right on the dead pit.
So yeah, exactly. That's a good point. When before this
time or after, did you ever did you guys ever
experience anything weird happening to the horses like to or
we'll just leave it at that. Did anything weird ever

(09:07):
happen to the horses? Uh?

Speaker 2 (09:09):
Nothing ever happened to the horses other than sometimes they
would be crowded up by the barn or like that
day they were over in the far corner, which there's
there's a routine that we followed, and that was that
was the first time they didn't follow that routine, and
so that kind of alarmed me a little bit. I mean,

(09:31):
always kept a couple of horses up at the barn
just in case they had to go down and get them.
But they always came up. But that night they didn't.
I found them down in the far a corner.

Speaker 1 (09:41):
Wow, that's wild. Did anyone else in the area ever
have sightings as well? Or is this the only one
you've heard of in this area.

Speaker 2 (09:53):
That's all I heard of. I told some friends of
mine I left the leaving the going out the next
day and seeing the prince because I told some of
my friends about it, two or three of them, and
they kind of laughed it off and thought I was
half crazy. So I just kind of kept my shut
because I was a new kid on the block, so
anyone I didn't want anybody I think I was an idiot.

Speaker 1 (10:14):
Yeah, I got youa. Yeah, it doesn't matter to get
it right, Yeah, totally doesn't. How did this affect the
rest of your life?

Speaker 2 (10:26):
Well? I never believed in it really until that point.
But I have another story that happened in Colorado that's
got to do with Bigfoot, and I got to see that.
I got to see that Bigfoot. But that's as far

(10:47):
as the Missouri goes. That's it. And I've seen one
in Kansas too, So I've seen one in Missouri, one
in Kansas, and one in Colorado.

Speaker 1 (10:56):
Wow. I mean, if you're we'd love to hear any
other encounters you've had, if you feel up for sharing them.
Totally up to you, though, Uh.

Speaker 2 (11:08):
Yeah, you guys want to hear I'll tell.

Speaker 1 (11:11):
Him absolutely, absolutely.

Speaker 2 (11:14):
So the one in Kansas, I'm trying to remember what
that was. I think that was like the mid two thousands.
I don't remember. I don't remember the exact year. I'm
trying to think here. I think it had been in nine,

(11:34):
nine ten. Anyway, so, uh, me and my wife ex wife, Now,
we were staying up at a friend's house in a
cabin that he had up by Perry Lake and his son,
my buddy's son. I was breaking one of the horses

(11:57):
to ride, and so he's out back working it, and
wife was out there, Kitto was out there, and so
I got done working on the fence,
