This inspiring installment honors the remarkable Coach Mike James, Owner and Founder of P&Z Life Coaching, Motivational Speaker, and trainer at the Certified Life Coach Institute. More about Coach Mike James People always ask what does P&Z stand for. Let me give you the short answer. It is the first initial of Mike's late Father and Mother, Prince and Zola(Izola) James. Now let me tell you more. Mike was born in Columbus, Georgia, but grew up in Ft. Mitchell and Phenix City, Alabama. He is the youngest of 11 children, and credits his wealth of gifts and talents to the combination of all of his siblings. Being from a large expanded and immediate family, Mike has experienced the loss of loved ones many times, including the loss of his Mother, Izola Edmonds James, and his Father, Prince James Jr. A vast majority of what he does, is to make his family proud and build a legacy for generations to come. At an early age Mike discovered his love for people, being involved at church and school in various roles. He discovered that he is joyful when he helps people in any way. After graduating from Russell County High School in Seale, Alabama, he went on to study at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Mike received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Fitness Leadership in 2007. While at UAB, he was a member of many student organizations and volunteer service projects. It was in college that Mike learned hard work, dedication, consistency, perseverance, and the art of prioritizing. On July 11, 2009, Mike married his beautiful wife, Felicia, whom he met while at UAB. Mike and Felicia have a host of nephews and nieces, and two beautiful God-children. They now call Birmingham, Alabama home, and love bringing joy to people's lives. Mike has served on various professional boards and community groups, and he wishes to continue sharing his light, love, and positivity to as many people as possible in the time and space that he has.
