(00:06):
Hello everyone, this is another exciting episode of Black Geek
Energy. I'm here with my friend.
Esteemed Co host. I won't say I don't.
Emmy Award nominated. That's definitely Anyway, I'm

(00:30):
here with him every 10 episodes. We like to not have a topic, not
have no no sex thing that we're going to talk about.
We just like to talk about anything.
It's the Let's Talk episode. So, DeMarcus, let's talk.

(00:52):
Do you have and if you can, if you and if you hear any
annoyance in Jerry Boyce, it's 'cause I was late today. 10
minutes late. 10 minutes late. And you know, because I thought.
It was, I thought it was at 9. I thought it was at 9:00.
I thought it was recording at 9:00.
We're not recording at our usualtime today because I have
friends in town. A friend.
In town and. We're, you know, we've been

(01:15):
doing, we've been doing fun stuff all weekend.
OK, which is cool, but. But yeah, you know, I, I forgot
what time this recording is, andthat's why Jerry's annoyed.
And and you and you have it in your calendar.
I don't understand and it didn'tsend you an alert.
There's no excuse. No, I don't think it.
No, it don't send me alerts for BG.

(01:36):
Why do you have the alerts turned off for your calendar?
Because if I feel like my I feellike my calendar be going off
all the time if I didn't. So your alerts are just on your
phone for the vibes, they're notactually doing anything.
No, I get alerts for like text messages I don't get.

(01:58):
I don't even get alerts for likemy work calendar.
OK, DeMarcus, so you need to putyour desk down because you look
like a shorter than you normallyare.
But no, that that reminded me ofwhen you were late with Stacy I.

(02:21):
Was late with Stacy. Stacy Spikes.
I don't. I don't remember being late with
Stacy. You don't remember being late
with Stacy? Do I have to pull up the
receipts right now? Oh, was that one?
Was that one? Wait, no, that was an episode
that like during the work day, wasn't it?
Yeah, that was doing when you were working.
OK, Jerry. Come on, bro.

(02:44):
Like, come on. I mean, Stacy.
Was working too. It was like a Sunday.
It was like a Sunday, Saturday type deal.
And I could just. And you know, I wasn't doing
nothing. Yeah, I was like, yeah, I was
late, man, and it's all on me, but I.
Mean Stacy was working too, and you didn't even say you were
going to be late. What, Because I wasn't planning
on being late? I was in a meeting that ran over
at work. Like what?

(03:05):
Do you want me to do just just run out of me?
Just like hey, I got to go, I got to do some podcast shit.
I know y'all paying me but. We we were on the line with
Stacy Spikes and yeah, you should have said F them because
it's Stacy Spikes. It's not just a normal.
And I'm gonna and I'm gonna say,I'm gonna say this.
I feel like I say it every so often on the podcast, but until

(03:28):
this starts in such a way that Idon't need to work full time
anymore, it's it's not coming first.
All right. DeMarcus, is there anything you
want to talk about? And I got to be able to maintain
my lifestyle. It can't just be like, oh, it's
paying you enough full time. Like if you worked at CarMax

(03:49):
Steel. I'm like, no, I'm not 23 years
old no more. All right, DeMarcus.
I need big boy money. OK.
DeMarcus, is there anything you want to talk about?
Anything I want to talk about, You want to do an anime update?
Now we can do that later on in the show when I list some shows
that I have also been watching. I ain't saying do it right now,

(04:10):
but like we can just like put that on the agenda like an anime
update during this episode. Let me think of what else do do
we want to talk a little bit about the DND campaign?
We've been doing a little catch up a little, you know, saying,
you know how sometimes they animate like the 10th episode?
They just do like a a quick overview or a quick recap.
It's like a recap episode. OK, but we have recap episodes

(04:35):
for the DND. In fact, the DND episodes going
to the DND recap is going to be next week.
So but we you know, we can do ADand D so far because we almost
done we more than halfway and wehaven't done one.
Yeah, I want to longer. Yeah, you want to do it longer.
Yeah. We can do a couple of a couple

(04:57):
of sessions. We can each have a session at
level 20. OK, that sounds fun.
'Cause I don't want to. I don't want to prolong it too
much. 'Cause there's not ready.
You don't think so? No, I don't think there's a such
thing as being ready. Like I think we because I wasn't
ready for my when I ran my firstcampaign and I I just got the

(05:19):
book and I think we should get her like I think that would be a
great gift if we like get her a like AD and D starter set is and
we can get one for both of them.Like like, Hey, you completed
BGEDND get them a the starter set.
We just get them two different ones and let them both run that

(05:41):
run their starter set campaign. That's going to be hard for me
because the markets, guess what?What?
I got fired from my job. I remember that.
I mean, I don't, I don't, I don't mind putting the bill for
it. It's OK.
But I I told you a little bit about what happened on the on a

(06:02):
previous episode and I text you when it happened.
I didn't give you the details after.
That no, because you did tell me.
You got fired, but I didn't giveyou the.
So that part was edited out. But yeah, I was fired from my
job. A lot of things happened.

(06:23):
You know, that job was very shifty and shady from the
beginning and it was a very toxic place.
I think I talked about the toxicity there with how he
treated the international employees.

(06:46):
They were also doing some shady business practices, the bait and
switch things with how they weretrying to get new customers.
It was very, very, extremely shady.
And you know, they had a lot of 6:00 AM meetings with the

(07:10):
international employees that I wasn't aware of.
Then those international employees would come back to me
in a meeting and then they wouldjust be complaining about things
he did. Like one time these were your.
Direct reports. Yeah, they were my direct
reports. Like one time he sent my person

(07:37):
home from Nigeria because it wasraining in Nigeria and he has to
use a little, you know, a, a electricity generator for his,
for his electricity and it just wasn't working so.
I remember we had this conversation too.

(07:58):
Yeah, and he sent him home so because.
I think you were saying that that he doesn't like he hires
these international people to work remote, but he doesn't give
them the like equipment they need to actually do the job.
Oh no. Like I don't get like the laptop
and then make sure you have Internet access and stuff like
that. Yeah, yeah, he, he definitely
doesn't give them the the stuff that they need to work there.

(08:24):
But but I'm trying to find the e-mail.
But but on this particular day, it was a Monday.
He actually told my, you know, well, my employees were talking
to him, well, talking to me about how they didn't like it

(08:47):
there, how they were always on the list of being fired, blah,
blah, blah, blah. And I was like, well, y'all have
to not be so concerned. Like this is the only job in the
world. It's going to be tough out there
if we lose this job, but you have to move on.
And I was telling them, like other resources, I was telling
you that I was still on the job market, still paying

(09:10):
applications, that they needed somebody I could write up.
What's the thing called? A letter recommendation.
Yeah, recommendation letter. And I was also telling them, you
know, some positions that I applied for that were open for
international employees the next.

(09:30):
Morning like recruiting folks out.
I was. I was.
Giving them other options because they were not happy like
every meeting I had with them. That's a good that's what AI
guess that's what a good managerwould do.
But. I mean, we still got our work
done. But.
And another thing he would, he told me, you know, you can't be
so nice to these people. They're not your friends.

(09:51):
You have to be like, like, I'm not going to, I'm not going to.
If they weren't doing, they're doing what they what they're
supposed to do exceptionally. So why would I?
Would I not be kind to them? Kind of exactly kind of
supportive so. At at a baseline, you know, and
not even not even being kind of supportive because they doing

(10:12):
their work, but just being a decent human being.
Exactly exactly. And because I've been only there
for like 2 weeks so why would I even be meant be meant be mean
to them? So anyway.
Where was he? From his law form is in

(10:33):
Manhattan. But but he's is, he's American
dude. No, he's from India, so he's.
So that was on Monday. That conversation I had with
Monday. You know, at this point I'm just
slowly through with his position.

(10:53):
Then on Tuesday morning, I triedto log in, I'm logged in and
then like 15 minutes after I'm logged in, I get automatically
logged out and I can't log back in.
So I was like, Chanel, what's happening?
Chanel was the HR person and shewas like, I don't.
Know I don't know in your HR. Yeah, she's like the director of

(11:14):
HR the. Director of HR and she doesn't
know. She doesn't know.
She doesn't. Know I remember when someone was
getting let go at my company andlike moments before they got let
go like I saw our head of HR andshe gave me a crazy look and I
was like what was that? Yeah, well, Chanel, she said

(11:36):
that she didn't know what's happening.
She said she would contact me back.
So I was just like, OK, so 1:00 comes, I'm still not able to log
in. She tells me, Oh yeah.
So you've been let go. I'm going to have a a letter to

(11:57):
you soon. She wrote a letter.
Blah blah blah. I wrote my reply letter.
Would you like to hear my reply letter?
What? Well, what did they write first?
OK, so she wrote, so she wrote. This letter serves as a formal
notice that your employment at my previous John is terminated

(12:21):
effective immediately. As communicate during your
probationary period, your performance in the role of
Marketing Director has been under review.
After careful consideration, we have determined that your
performance has not met the expectations required for
continued employment. As such, a decision has been
made to end your employment withthe firm effective today.

(12:41):
Then it goes on to state that myemployment is at will and they
could terminate me at any time. As you know stated by law that
we paid our wages and if there'sany equipment that I have to
turn in. But you don't.
You didn't have any equipment, did you?

(13:03):
Matter of fact, they were tryingto use your equipment.
Exactly. So I I made a reply.
Would you like to hear it? Yes, yes I would.
OK, sit back. This this is a couple paragraphs
Chanel. And Chanel was my friend, she
was nice. I said no worries, I've already

(13:24):
made the decision to leave. Let's call this mutual and spare
the formalities. Let's me be blunt.
He is one of the worst bosses I ever encounter in my entire 15
year career and I returned this firm.
I was never treated as a marketing director, never giving
actual direction, and never oncehad a professional exchange with
him that involved clarity or collaboration.

(13:46):
He thrives on confusion, micromanages through silence,
and only ever seems interested in belittling woman and lording
his title over people. Being a lawyer doesn't give him
the right to treat internationalstaff like their disposable
labor or bullying people into working 10 hour days, seven days
a week. That's not leadership, that's

(14:07):
exploitation. My only regret is that all
strategy, structure and real marketing work I put into motion
will now be dumped on the team that's already stretched to the
brink. The people here deserve better,
and they won't get it until leadership.
That's in place now. Chanel, you have you and the
rest of the team has been nothing more respectful cable
and hardworking. I truly appreciate working with

(14:28):
you. It's a shame that brilliance is
wasted under someone more interested in control their
results. Best of luck.
Jared, former marketing directoron paper.
So yeah, I sent that at like 4:00 and they reply.

(14:52):
They were they. Why would they reply to that?
I don't know. I know.
So they replied the next day, that evening at Tuesday evening
at 10:00 at night, he sends me atext saying that.
If so. This is before the company, the
formal reply from the company. Yes, he sends me a text saying

(15:15):
if you need anything I can writeyour recommendation.
I did not reply. The next morning the company
replies to my e-mail and they say this.
While we respect your rights of voice concerns, we must make it
clear that any statements, written or verbal, that may be

(15:38):
constructed as defamatory towards individuals of the firm
are not appropriate, will not betolerated.
We take this matter seriously asprotecting the reputation of our
staff in organizations both a legal and ethical priority.
Our goal is to move forward on amicable terms.
However, please be advised that if any further disparity on
damaging communications are madeand reserve all rights on the

(16:00):
Africa Law and pursuant to the dispute resolution or rotation
provisions outline in the appointment agreement, blah
blah, blah, blah, blah. But I'm not an employee anymore,
so none of that shit matters. None of it matters.
So I wrote a reply back. This is the.
This is the. This is the final reply.

(16:22):
God Lee, this feels like an episode of Real World.
OK, so you ready to hear it? Let me and I said let me first
state clear name. I know this message was not
written by you. Has the fingerprints of him all
over it. I respect your role as HR and

(16:42):
appreciate the professionalism you have always shown.
However, I will not be intimidated by this firm's
continue attempts to suppress valid criticism through misuse
illegal threats. For the record, truth is not
defamation. My comments read first hand
experience and I have evidence, timelines, messages and
witnesses to support every single claim I made.

(17:04):
If the firm chooses to escalate this this issue, I welcome the
opportunity for discovery in a legal setting.
I look forward to proceeding documentation of the hostile
under targeting work workplace Iencountered and the exploitative
practices I witnessed, especially towards international
workers. Furthermore, tell him to stop

(17:25):
texting and calling my personal phone immediately.
He has no right to continue contacting me outside of you.
He is not on my phone plan. He does not dictate how I use my
personal device, and if this behavior persists, I will pursue
A restraining order and file a harassment claim.
Good God Almighty. My only regret is that the

(17:47):
telling people still working there is not burning with the
workload blah blah blah blah. Let this be my final
communication on the matter. Do not call, do not text, do not
threaten. Sincerely, Jerry.
And he didn't reply after that. Why would they even?

(18:09):
I mean, I understand the, the, Iguess I, I guess I understand
their, their second replies like, hey, like don't be talking
shit about us. We'll sue you.
I guess. I don't know.
I I I wasn't talking random stuff.
Everything I said was truth. I feel but but that's that's not
uncommon. Well.

(18:30):
And I didn't sign NDA. What has, Oh, I think, I think
that's what I think that's what I've heard of happening.
Like when folks leave a company, they get like the NDA during the
ex an interview or something like that where they be like,
you can't talk shit about us forfor a little while.
But maybe that's only if they know the person is leaving on
like bad terms. I did not sign an NDA beginning

(18:50):
or at the end. No NDA.
Exactly, Jerry, Go and play. So that has been my recent
thing. I'm back on this stupid job
markets. And other things still going on
though. We'll talk about that in in the
Patreon. Alright.

(19:13):
But yeah, that has been my recent news to to say also what
happened is I had to buy a wholenew laptop.
Shut up. Yeah, this was like a week ago.
I had to get a whole new laptop. What?

(19:35):
My current well, the laptop. OK, well, my current gaming
laptop, I've had it for like 10 years.
So it was about that time, but it finally like the latch the
but you close it on the screen is like disjointed.
So at any second it's gonna go because like the screen is

(19:56):
already like kind of busted at the lower left hand corner.
So I was like, let me just go ahead and get another one.
So now I'm using that laptop to do these podcasts.
I completely wiped it and my newgaming laptop is over there.
So I'm like streaming on this laptop, huh?

(20:18):
What gaming laptop did you get? I got a Lenovo.
Yeah, I got a Lenovo, but yeah, I'm currently streaming on this
on my old gaming laptop 'cause it has more power, so I can
hopefully I won't have as much lag and stuff like I have been
having. So, yeah, OK, yeah.

(20:42):
That's a lot bro. That's that sounds like a
stressful week. I mean it's, I mean not really
'cause that happened on the 7th and it's currently the 25th I
believe. Oh, touché that's a long time
ago then, yeah. Yeah.
So the stress that I, you know, would have had was only from
like 8:00 to 1:00 where I didn'tknow what was going on.

(21:07):
And then I found out. So I was like, oh great.
Yeah. Yeah.
So yeah. I got what do you want, I guess.
Yeah, yeah. But what?
What's been going on this end? I will let you think about that

(21:28):
a little bit more, but just the live and up our podcast.
I just want to move on to the put you on segment this wait,
what? So I can't say hi.
I've been. Am I?
What you been? You guys going to move on?

(21:49):
Just fuck me. I mean, we haven't done
anybody's weekend. I haven't asked that question
yet. That I thought that was your.
I thought that was your. Like how you been?
No, I said, do you have anythingyou want to talk about for let's
talk episode? OK, department.
Do you have do you how is your week been department?

(22:09):
You just talk for 30 minutes andI can't have 5.
Which is why I'm trying to move.I'm trying to get this sponsor
in there for I forget and then we can move into how long.
You you took extra loan the sponsor got to.
Wait. Well DeMarcus, I asked you if
you ain't anything to say, 'cause I knew that I was going
to be long so and now I tried. The problem is it's not that you

(22:32):
was long, it's not. And that's my turn.
Don't. Don't skip me.
Don't skip my time. Alright, DeMarcus, don't be
late. 'Cause I want to talk to, I want
to talk to, I want to talk aboutfoodie land.
Foodie Land. Exactly right.
So yeah, this is like food festival they have out here.
It's all print. Kiera's in town and we were, we

(22:53):
met when we were, we both used to work at like Commerce Auto
Finance in Atlanta, in Kennesaw specifically.
But yeah, so is this spot. It will.
You know, I was trying to figureout shit for us to do in town
and I started saying this ad about foodie land up in San
Francisco at the Cow Palace. And it was D fucking delicious.

(23:15):
Everything we had was fucking great because what was the first
thing I had? We had like some yakitori like
grilled chicken and mochi and they and I had like a spicy one.
I've never had mochi before, what does it taste like?
It's like it's, it's like, it's,it's like chewy.

(23:36):
It's like gooey. It's.
Chewy and gooey. But like a lot of times, like
when it's grill, when it's when it's grilled, it's real good
'cause it's like crispy on the outside.
Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait wait.
Mochi isn't the green stuff. I mean, it can be green if you
have like green tea mochi, like it can be be sweet or it can be

(23:58):
savory. Mochi pretty much is like takes
on the flavor of whatever you put in it with.
So if you if you making it into like the little marshmallow like
dessert thing, it's going to be sweet.
If you just like seasoned mochi with like chicken or whatever or
and grill it, it's going to havelike that savory flavor and like

(24:20):
eating. I was eating chicken mochi
skewers and like I couldn't eventaste where the chicken stopped
and emoji started. OK, OK.
Wait, wait, wait. Pass, pass, pass.
I was thinking about matcha, which I also haven't had.
I've had no. I haven't had mochi or matcha,
but that. Is tea basically?

(24:44):
Yeah, I don't know how that tastes either.
So OK but they grilled this isn't is it mochi used for sweet
stuff? So why would they use?
It, it's used for, it's used foreverything.
It's used for savory stuff too. Like there's a, there's a
yakitori place near me that I'm hoping we go have dinner at and
they have like grilled mochi skewers or they, I think they
got chicken mochi and they got bacon wrapped mochi.

(25:07):
Delicious. It's great.
OK, sounds weird. It's it's delicious here, but
that's like Kira wasn't there. She's like all this stuff sound
weird, like, oh, we got sauce onthere.
I don't like sauce. I'm like you, so picky.
Don't like sauce? What did she beat?
Wait, where is she from? She's from Georgia.

(25:28):
But she was raising the suburbs,so I don't.
Know I was raising the suburbs. But anyway, that's just weird.
Also had bitia ramen. Beria Ramen.
OK, I've heard of that. Yes, *** it was that shit was
fucking delicious and like, 'cause they give you all like
the toppings as if it were like a Beria, like a regular Liberia

(25:52):
Taco. So like added, just tried with
the ramen added like the cilantro and onions, completely
different flavor and then added some of the salsa on there,
completely different flavor. Squeeze some of the lime it it
just my mouth is watering all over again like this.
Jared, you would have loved it because everything was fucking
good. Well, I don't like like those
raw onions like that when they're still in their white

(26:14):
farm. You could you could have skipped
the onions. Then you didn't have to put on
because they gave it to you on the side.
Oh, OK, OK, OK, cool, cool, cool.
Well, yeah, I mean, it's just like the Japanese people that
with reflecting ramen for years at the katsu are probably
looking at that disgusted. They're probably not.
They're probably like, oh, this is like a very interesting take.

(26:35):
You know, I'm saying like I would have never done this with
ramen. Yeah, they would have never
'cause they would have gotten their hands slapped with a
wooden. Spoon Nah man, 'cause I feel, I
feel like, I feel like black Americans are the only people
who like gatekeep and like, try to like hold on.
We try to, like, keep our culture just for us.

(26:56):
No, Japanese people are like that too.
If you like. I watch like those Japanese
cooking shows. They are very strange and so are
the French. So are the French too with their
recipes. You can't deviate at all, at
all. Indian town.
Yeah, no, that's a, that's a worldwide thing 'cause these
people are like, you cannot deviate from my recipe that has,

(27:19):
that we've had since, you know, 1215.
I stand corrected. Yeah.
But anyway, the beauty of Rama was great.
We had steamed pork buns, which is classic.
They're always good. Some empanadas.
This is empanadas. The empanadas were straight.

(27:39):
Yeah, the empanadas. I think it was my least.
It was still good, but it was just my least favorite thing.
And then on the way out, we had like, these mini pancakes.
Like we had like, got like Oreo and Fruity Pebbles.
Both of them fucking slap. OK, so it's fucking slapped and
this was yesterday. Yeah.
So was it like you just buy 1 ticket and then it's just a free

(28:02):
for all? No, no, no, no, no, you, you.
The tickets were hella cheap to get in.
So you just like pay like $10 toget in in your time slot and
then you just walk around eatingis you you, But you got to like
pay for it like everything you eat once.
You're outside, So what was yourfinal total after all that?
I think all between all three ofus, we might have spent like

(28:25):
maybe $100, maybe 150, like it was between all three of us
eating because like every time we would get something, we would
share it, OK. So it might be lower than that.
We might have only spent like $100 all together.
So only one. OK so I was thinking, how do you
eat a whole bowl of ramen? A whole chicken cicatore?
A whole thing of it, but y'all were sharing everything.

(28:46):
Yeah, we're sharing everything. Yeah.
But most of the stuff, you know, and like 'cause something like
it's like with the with the yakitori skewers, like they,
they did it like 4 for 20 or something like that.
Yeah, like 4 for 25. I think it was fun that.
Seems. Fun.
I look fun and they do it all over.

(29:06):
So like they have it. They I think they also have 40
lane like in Atlanta. So if it comes to Atlanta, you
should definitely check it out. No, Atlanta does a lot of stuff
like that, like especially at like Atlantic Station, they do
like a brunch thing, a Japanese thing, a black people thing at
Atlanta Station. So yeah.
And tickets are always expensive, like $60.00.

(29:30):
Then I don't know what happens on the inside because I've never
spent a $60.00 ticket. You got to go to the food truck.
I don't know if they still do the food truck part, do they?
I, I think so like around Windy Hill I I think so I'm not sure
either. But yeah, that shit was great
and I woke up hungry 'cause I was like, damn, let me see.

(29:53):
But yeah, but that was like, that was like, we also like, we
did like regular tourist and stuff like we went to the gym,
went to the Golden Gate Bridge, went to the Golden Gate Park,
walked around. The gym.
Yeah, I went to the gym yesterday morning.
Well, me and Carrie, why you? Why you?
Why you say it like that? 'Cause that's not tour, just
touristy stuff. But Golden Gate Bridge and
Golden Gate Park are I mean. Yeah, but you said we did

(30:14):
touristy stuff, like we went to the gym, we went to Golden Gate
Bridge. I understand how it sounded, but
that's not the one to the gym was not part of the touristy
thing. But I maybe 'cause we went to LA
Fitness and I was like, oh, theydon't call it LA Fitness outside
of LA. And if you're still in
California, they they call it city sports.

(30:37):
That's dumb. But then in Atlanta, it's LA
Fitness, right? Yeah.
Yeah, but not. Why would they?
They need to have the same. Branding everywhere.
I think it's the same reason whylike the Atlanta Bread company
is called Panera Bread everywhere else.
That's two separate companies, is it?
Yes. OK, I've always thought those

(31:01):
are the same thing. No, you're thinking something
like a checkers rallies thing. Yeah, like checkers and rallies.
The Atlanta Bread Company and Panera are two separate entities
owned by two separate conglomerates.
What? Please tell me you knew that to

(31:22):
work. No, I didn't and I definitely
thought it was like the same joint or I heard it was like.
There is like an Atlanta bread company in Atlanta right beside
a Panera Bread company. And this is in Peachtree City,
so I don't know. That is crazy.

(31:43):
DeMarcus No. That's crazy.
I don't know who told me that, and I believe them.
You got to stop believing everything you see on the
Internet. No, this was on the Internet.
Someone told me this word of mouth.
It was a trusted source. No, it wasn't because they
fooled you and now you look crazy on the Internet.

(32:04):
I know now I look crazy, but anyway, and I I just, I just
imagine it's because like they just don't, they don't want to.
If they said it was LA Fitness in a in in the Bay Area, folks
won't fuck with it. That's what I imagine, like a
branding type thing. I mean, why wouldn't LA people
go to LA Fitness? That doesn't make.

(32:25):
I mean, so in LA it's called LA Fitness.
OK. But when you get out of LA.
So we get out of LA, like in SanFrancisco it's called City
Sports, and then out of California it's called LA
Fitness. Yes, crazy.
I think so too. But it is some beef between like
So Cal and N Cal like like Bay folks do not don't really fuck

(32:47):
with I think well, a lot of a lot of Bay Bay people visit LA,
but I don't think they really fuck with LA.
But I know LA folks don't fuck with the Bay.
They be like, oh, Nah, OK. That's dumb.
OK, are we ready for the put youon segment now?
Are you properly? Welcome to the episode BGEN.

(33:14):
His name is Jerry. My name is DeMarcus.
And we want to put you on this subject.
This is This is now a sponsored segment by Movie Pass.
Movie Pass MoviePass Movie Pass.De Marquez, can you tell them
about MoviePass as? I no, you do it Jared.

(33:35):
You tell them about Movie pass. My Locust?
No, because I was watching YouTube has a like a three hour
stream of of wild discovery or whatever it is with Dave and

(33:56):
Attenborough and the, you know, it's just it's in 4K and the
four. K.
Yeah, and and the bugs just cameon.
You know I don't do bugs. So MoviePass.
What is MoviePass? Movie Pass is a subscription
service that allows you to watchmultiple movies in a.

(34:18):
Month. Like you can pay $10 and you can
use that $10 and you can see multiple movies like I'm gonna.
I'm gonna make sure that that's still the bottom price point.
OK. Like I know that now AMC is
doing one bag. With AMC, you can only see them

(34:39):
at AMC. With MoviePass you can see them
everywhere every. Plan start, actually plan
starting as low as 833. I just looked this up.
Even cheaper than $10. Eight dollars and 33 fucking
cents. So yes, you can see you can
watch your movies anywhere, anywhere that they serve

(35:00):
MoviePass, AMC, Regal Cinema Cafe, When I Miss Cinema Cafe,
Spiccini, Alfredo and Hansen, anywhere that accepts MoviePass,
not just AMC. And you could just ball out or

(35:21):
you can go all the way up to $30.00 a month, which is what I
do. And you can get one but two
tickets to the movies. And that one is good for a day
for a friend. Because you, you, you buy 2
movie tickets. That's already the price of of

(35:43):
the subscription service plus $10.
So yeah, it's the cheapest, mosteffective way to spend money
this summer because we have a jam packed movie summer with
Fantastic Four, Superman Final Destination just came out.
It's going to be a grand pack movie past summer.

(36:04):
So get on it everybody. That was off the top of my dumb
hot idea that. Was pretty good, Jerry.
I like that. I liked it.
I didn't like it, that's why youdo it.
No, you know, you, I think you could my only particular is like

(36:24):
you can tighten it up, but otherthan but you know, I like I like
that you gushed over for a minute.
Yeah. Yeah, you, I knew that you would
have some, it means to some criticisms.
All right, DeMarcus, do we have a activity for today?
We do you have an activity? OK.

(36:53):
And for those joining us for thefirst time, the way these games
work is DeMarcus comes up with the games.
He comes up with the questions, the answers and decides.
The winners are losers. He is the judge during an
execution of all BGE activities.Wait, so so why can't I say this
part? Next time, Next time.

(37:15):
OK, we can switch roles. Oh, you want me to do that?
The activity. Next role play we can we can
switch. Well, I can play.
Isn't the isn't the the right vernacular?
Oh. Did you say I can top you?
You got. It Jared.
Wait, wait, wait, wait. Wait, Jared, for Halloween.

(37:38):
Do you want to dress up as each other?
Do you want to like and we can like switch roles?
But we're not going to be aroundeach other for Halloween.
So we won't but we but we can still dress up on each other as
each other like on the thing. Oh, on here.
On here on for the podcast, yes.OK.

(38:01):
And we can switch? So what do you have that
anyways? And I can be the caddy 1.
Oh, so you wanted to do a full switch?
Oh yeah, yeah. OK.
All right, today's game, it's called yours, Mine's ours.

(38:23):
And I have yours. Mine's ours.
Yours. Mine's, ours.
No. No.
Yes. And I have 10 statements.
And your job, Jared, is to decide whether this statement
applies to you, it applies to me, or both of us, or neither of
us. OK, all right, I can, I can do

(38:47):
this. Yeah, this would be crazy trying
to stay in the stay in the themeof, you know, on the for the get
to know your episodes. These are games that for people
to get to know us. OK.
Yeah. All right.
Sure, sure. Yeah, I guess great.
So maybe. We can get to know each other a

(39:08):
little bit. Classifying.
OK. Are you ready?
I'm intrigued. Let's let's let's number one do
it. No one then this person or has
been a part of multiple sectionsin the band.
Well, that's me. That is you, correct?

(39:30):
Yeah. I've been a part of the manager
section, the recursion section, the dancers, and I was a staff
member. And I've only played trombone,
yeah. Yeah, that's me.
Absolutely all right #2 is a bastard.

(39:52):
Oh, that's you. That's you.
Yeah, I'm a bastard. Yeah.
Your parents married when you were born?
No? Then you are also a bastard.
That's both of us. I mean, but you are a technical
bastard. A technical bastard is.
You are a cultural bastard. Fuck you.
Like I wasn't. You were a cultural bastard.

(40:14):
No, no, no, no, I'm definitely. Not so both.
You are a culture. The answer to this one is both.
You're a. Cultural bastard.
The answer to this one, Jerry. No, I had the right answer.
You said are you a bastard and your answer is wrong.
I did not do the, I decided to. Answer to these questions and
it's both. I didn't do the.
We're both bastard. But in the front.

(40:34):
All definition. In the number three culture, you
are a cultural bastard. #3 Jerrylikes Gooch play Gooch Gooch
like one of the one of the experimental names for this
podcast, Big Gooch Energy. Yeah, you.

(40:57):
And that was not experimental. That's something you and
Laurente was saying to be funny. So no.
It was one of the. It was one of the ones in the
pot. No, it was never in the pot, so
that is you. You don't like Goose?
Play Jared. It doesn't do anything for me.
What do you like Gooch play I. Do.

(41:20):
This is the part between the balls and the anus, right?
Yes, doesn't like no, you need to stick to one of the the the
the major zones where the nerve endings are.
You need to get out of the. Out of the playpen, pick a side,
yeah? Get out of the playpen and get
on the playground so. Jerry say get off the sidewalk.

(41:43):
Yeah, yeah. And choose a direction.
Jesus was born in Atlanta within285.
You. Yes, it is me.
So what you're trying to say? Is in their mid 30s.
Number 5 is in their mid 30s. That's both of us.

(42:05):
Jared. Jared.
OK, it's just you. I'm still in my 20s.
OK, number six loves coastal icecream.
Neither. I love cold stone ice cream.

(42:26):
That's what you do. I do.
I've never. I've seen you eat everything
else. You.
I have cold stone ice cream in my freezer right now.
You have never ate Cold stone ice cream around me.
Not on the podcast. No, not ever.
I feel like we've had some cold stone we can go on the coast on
day ice cream. Well, alt your horses we and

(42:50):
like in Hampton, I know I used to go to Cold Stone with my big
sister all the time. If you would have been like
let's go to Cold Stone, I would have said OK, let's go.
But you never said let's go to Cold Stone, ever.
So who did say y'all was going to take me for ice cream?
Y'all did say I y'all was going to take me for ice cream.
Y'all never did. Who is y'all?
You, Cam and Emily. That's Cam and Emily.

(43:11):
No, because you were there. And he was like, and they were.
And they was like, we should take him for ice cream.
And they was like, yeah. And he was like we should and it
never happened. And I was scared of y'all back
then so I wasn't going to ask. You should have followed up.
I said what? You should have followed up.
I said I knew y'all and I shouldhave, I should have but I was

(43:32):
scared and I was like I know it's why.
Are you scared of well, you can be scared of Cam and Emily, but
why are you scared of me? I I didn't even.
I was. I lumped y'all all together.
I lumped y'all. All you was guilty by
association. Their favorite X-Men is Storm.

(43:54):
I know my favorite X-Men is Storm.
I don't know about you, doll. I would say both of us.
This is this is you. So who's your favorite one?
My favorite X-Men. Oh yeah, Gambit 'cause you like
his coat. I do like Gambit.

(44:15):
It's tough though. I'm a I'm a big Cyclops.
Gambit, Cyclops, Nightcrawler are my favorites.
I'm the X-Men. I like Nightcrawler when he's
fighting with Wolverine. Yeah, I feel like I like, I've,
I've like all the versions of Nightcrawler.
I even like the like the quiet scary like Catholic super
Catholic Nightcrawler. You like the Asia of Apocalypse?

(44:37):
Nightcrawler. Which one is that one?
The most powerful night crawlingthat just goes popping people's
head off with his teleportation.I don't think I'm familiar with
that one, but I'm sure I would like him to.
He's my favorite. OK, Team Magneto, that's me.

(45:01):
I think it's both of us at this time.
No, because every time, well, you, you flip and flop in every
every episode then because yes, you do.
Because when we have the 17 questions, you be like, oh, I'm
a professor of Xavier Signer. Well, the first time you had me
answer those the 17 questions, yes, I was team Xavier, but ever

(45:23):
I feel like the more I've learned, the more I've read and
learned about Xavier, I'm just like, damn, like this guy is
kind of fucked up. And but more so than that, I'm,
I, I am much more appreciative Iof what Magneto has done for the
X-Men as a whole in this stage of the X-Men story.
Well, you never expressed that to me.

(45:45):
All I expressed that. No, all I heard you say was on
the 17 questions was that they you like Professor Xavier.
More even the last person we haddo the 17 questions, you know,
when it was like, oh, Team Magneto and I was like, that's
the correct answer. And I've been like, and I've

(46:05):
been saying that for a minute, you can go check the tapes.
Tapes 9. I'll pull them up right now.
All right #9 likes trade men. Define trade.

(46:29):
Define trade and we had this. Discussion.
On the on the Patreon, because what I know is trade will not be
what you known as trade. So define trade.
Trade is like the dudes. We, they, they don't.
They ain't necessarily gay, but they'll do some gay stuff.
They're not necessarily gay already.

(46:52):
OK, so no, not so. It's neither.
Hi, Jared. What do you mean I Jared?
I mean I exactly what I mean I. No, you said it with an
attitude. What do you mean I, Jared?
When? When you don't even know what
the word is and stop saying thatword.
You, you, you know what I mean. No, I don't know what you mean

(47:15):
#10 what it? Is numbers words.
Mean things. #10 you. Just need to stop saying that
word. #10 #9 is you #10 no. It's not as a.
Subscription #10 #10 there, we know you're fucking tight.

(47:35):
No you don't. No you don't.
I've never brought any man around y'all.
You pointed one out to us number. 10 mbaku was the one I
pointed out to to y'all, so don't do that either.
No, it was a. Real dude.
It was a real dude, but I could see him in a Mbaku role #10 has

(48:01):
a subscription to Marvel Unlimited.
Neither, neither. Oh, you ain't got it no more.
No, I cancelled it recently because I just lost my job.
Fair enough. *** you ain't had this shit in a long time.

(48:23):
OK, but that was it. That was that was all 10
questions. How was that game, Jared?
Yeah, that was fine, that we should do that more often.
Why is it like so dark in here? Why look?
At the the the light I can't seehow bright or dim it is.
Yeah, I just feel like I'm very extra dark.

(48:47):
I might need to go turn on the top light.
Hold on for a second, DeMarcus. Goodness gracious, I gotta take
the OK juice. Goodness.

(49:13):
Yeah, 'cause it's like, really? Wait, were you just sitting in
silence? You were supposed to like Vamp?
I look better. Yeah, I look kind of better.
Yeah, that. That's a better angle.
What camera is this? Is this your phone camera?
Yeah. Yeah, this is this is a good
one. I told you I use my phone, well,
my old phone when I am. I've tried to hook my I've tried

(49:38):
to hook my phone up to my computer, but I think my
computer is too old to hook up to my new phone.
So probably so you you can't like mirror your phone.
On your to my computer, yeah. OK, then probably yes.
When did you get it? This computer, I can tell you
what year it was made. This is a 2017.

(50:06):
I I don't think that will work. That's not even that long ago,
but I guess. It's like 7 years, eight years.
Yeah, Yeah. That's kind of long.
That's kind of long time ago for.
Computers. All right, DeMarcus.
Years. So I don't think I told you, but

(50:26):
I did post it on both of my Instagram and the BG Instagram.
I just was in the Marvel role-playing game, the the.
First, the first one, the first session.

(50:47):
Yeah, yeah. Did you see?
I didn't see the post. I haven't been on Instagram if
you posted it lately. OK, I posted this weekend.
I posted like the week I was on it so.
I might have saw it, but but yeah.
But tell me about it. That's exciting.
It was really good. It was.

(51:08):
Really. I mean, after meeting Jay, yeah,
I had. I was like this.
I was like, this game look like it's going to be seen.
It sounds like it's going to be so fun.
And now I'm a little salty Jerrydidn't let me join.
Well, it was for just black and queer people.
I am black. Are you queer?
I can't be for the game, no. No, no, queer is not something

(51:31):
you can turn off the Marcus so. Yes, it is.
We'll put it on like a jacket. It is all the time.
So queerness is something you can turn on and off.
Why? People do it all the time.
Companies do it all the time. So you think that?
They turn it off. No, no, that's a celebration of

(51:51):
the queer people who approaches. But you think because of white
people do something that you cando something?
That's how it should be. That's.
That's how it. That is, I should be able to do
anything a white person can. That's what anyone anyone that
Martin Luther King start fall for.
So so you think as a white person does something wrong, you

(52:11):
should also be doing that same wrong thing?
And I should get the same amountof time if and if the answer is
they don't get no time for it, Ishouldn't get no time for.
It OK so no punishment. So it shouldn't be a law then?
What shouldn't be a law? This hypothetical crime
situation that white people are getting punished for it if you

(52:33):
don't get. Punished.
I shouldn't get punished all. Right.
Well, no. But tell us about.
The game you need to get punished.
The game was fine and I can sendyou the link to it, but the game
was really, really, really amazingly fun yeah, Neil Sogard,

(52:53):
who is our griots in this game, not DM.
He was doing a perfect job and there was one person Jay isn't
the Jay isn't. Jay's just a character.
Yeah, Jay's a character in the Thing.

(53:15):
And and Neil so got his degree out and he, he, you know, he has
a partnership with Roy 20. He does his own campaign and
campaigns and DND. He's like an amazing dungeon
master who has amazing takes. Everybody should follow him on

(53:38):
Twitter and YouTube because he has amazing takes on the things
going on. And yeah, his, he's going on
with D&D, with D&D nerd stuff, you know, and his DME was
amazing. And there's, there's, yeah, 20

(53:59):
times better than ours and 50 * 20.
Times. Yeah, yeah.
And there's this one character who was his first time playing
Marvel, his first time even playing like a tear top
role-playing RPG, and he was really nervous.
But in his nerves, he unlocked awhole new dimension for his

(54:25):
character. And it's so like he's, he's the
first to watch. He is the person to watch 'cause
he actually. I'm sorry, how many of y'all of
y'all is playing? 55 yeah 5.
And the griot make 6 yes. OK, OK.
And you can go through all the characters.
So what was this person? The first character's name.

(54:45):
His name was Hold on, let me find out.
I don't really know these characters that well, but we do
have our own discourse so I can go to the IT.
Was session 0, so I mean it's session 1 so I understand.
Session one, his name is Ether. His name is Ether and he has

(55:07):
like control over like darkness or whatever.
He can phase into shadows and he's like a thief.
And he unlocked a new dimension for his character where he was
talking to the Griot and the griot was talking back.
It was so funny because I was like, and afterwards I was

(55:29):
saying, Oh my God, that's Deadpool.
That's she hung and like now youhave to keep that up where you
were talking to this mysterious cosmic person and nobody else
knows who you're talking to. So I.
Like it? I love a good role play.
Yes, so that is very good. There's another one, the one who

(55:56):
I don't know her powers yet. Well, I know her powers, but her
powers haven't been introduced yet.
She's like the leader of the of the intergalactic Wakandian
mission that has come to Earth for some reason.
Then there is enamel. She is also on the mission and

(56:19):
she has, and I don't know if I'musing the right pronouns, but
she has light powers and she's like half crowing, half mutants.
And she is also on the Wakandan space mission and also on the
Makani space mission. The third person is Domain.

(56:41):
And this is Jay's character Domain.
I don't think that she's introduced her powers either,
but Domain she's she's fun. She's a she's a good time.
I have fun with her. And then there's me.

(57:04):
And I have I've. Can you guess what my powers
are? Psychic powers or no?
No, you got storm powers like weather powers.
Thank you. You bastard.
See, a cultural bastard. But yes, life has weather powers

(57:26):
and. And yeah, he's like A and what?
Was the character's name life? Yes, LYPHE, That's his mutant
name. His giving name is.
Can you guess what his given name is?
Suck rammed. It's Kyra Ruth Row and and yes,

(57:52):
he's like trying to be an influencer.
He is just recently graduated from university and he is, you
know, trying to get a job. So he is trying to get a start
check, a Worthington check, yeah.

(58:15):
Oh, OK, OK, I got you. Yeah, but yeah, he is just
trying to be a hero to get some money.
But yeah, that is all of us. We had a really good time, was
fine and like towards the end, you know, we all came together
with the ship, with me, with Ether, who is trying to rob the

(58:39):
the sanctorum where Doctor Strange.
Lives. What is what's the premise of
the game like? What is it like?
What it like? How did y'all, How did y'all
start and what are y'all? I guess what is the goal right
now? Just from one session, without
telling it, without supporting it for us?
So how did it start? Like in like in game?
How does? Yeah, like in game, like what
did it like? Was it just like like you wake

(59:00):
up in a dark place or? No, no, no, like I know, I know
my character was his on the street walking, talking to her
fans, well his fans with his phone.
And it was like the intergalactic Wakandian people,
they came via the ship and they had a mission on Earth is to get

(59:24):
something in. Their rules were do not talk to
whatever you're getting, just neutralize it immediately.
And Ether was trying to rob the Sorcerer's St.
Tom and then he got kind of distracted by life showing out.

(59:48):
And then we all met together outside of a coffee shop because
life had to go to go get coffee after he was met by the
intergalactic Wakandan mission in the air and.
And yeah, he had to go get coffee and he MetLife.

(01:00:09):
And yeah, then we were together and it ended kind of like in a
cliffhanger, of course, for the next episode where we made it to
the docks and we. We saw Rhino breaking into some
crates and he got covered in some slime or something gooey

(01:00:36):
like a symbiote. The.
Rhino did. Yeah, then that's where we ended
that whole. But yeah, it is such a fun cast.
Like we all have great storylines.
We all have. Some stuff.
This game was about 3 hours. Nice.

(01:00:56):
I think, yeah, it's a healthy amount, yeah.
Yeah, yeah. Oh, let me send you the link
right quick. Oh, so I can watch it?
Yeah. I know you're not going to watch
it. I.
Am going to watch it. No you're not.
Is it on YouTube or is it because I do live on twitch
right? Yeah, so I just have the twitch

(01:01:17):
thing and I can also put the twitch thing in the show notes
so that. Yeah, folks can watch.
Yeah, yeah. So if you want to watch it, you
can, but let me just text it to you right now, OK.
OK, so here it goes. Alright.
So yeah. But yeah, it was so much fun and
I cannot wait until we play again on the 7th.

(01:01:42):
So far away. What time on the 7th?
We meet at 9:00 Eastern. So I think it's I think that we
are up. No, no, we meet at 8:30.
So I think the stream is up at 9:00, which is going to be like
5 for you, right? Yeah, five.

(01:02:05):
Yeah. And it's on a Saturday, so I'm
sure you're going to be out doing stuff.
Is it every Saturday? No, it's not every.
Sorry. It's like what?
I mean, I mean once a month. I'm sorry, that's.
What I no, it's not once a month.
It's supposed to be every two weeks.
But, you know, people had some other things they had to do.
OK, so every other Saturday. Yeah, OK, great.

(01:02:26):
Yeah, but it was fine. It was fine.
I'm, I think I'm going to like have my my laptop and I'm have
my phone so I can, you know, stream any comments that come
back come through. But yeah, it's really, really
fun. Dope, Jerry.
I'm so excited. I'm so excited to watch it

(01:02:47):
because it's Marvel theme. The guy.
The guy has like a partnership with Marvel as well or something
like that or sponsored by Marvelto.
Do this. I don't think we have it.
Yeah, I think that's the plan. Like we want to present them
like a really good premise before we actually saying
sponsors. So, so yeah, we're doing it that

(01:03:12):
way. But yeah, he he definitely has
his own production company and he's doing it big.
So nice. And this is Jay, of course, and
we already talked to Jay. But yeah.
Hell yeah. I can't wait to watch it.
I'm I can't wait. I'm I can't.

(01:03:32):
Because I'm trying to. Figure out like where I'm
watching, like you know, becauseI will say I would say like, oh,
I'm gonna watch it at work, but they be getting my ass about
watching podcast at work now. No, they've been getting on you
for a while now, haven't they? Well, no, I mean this hasn't.
This hasn't someone, no one has said anything to me about it in
a while because I haven't been doing it now like I like.

(01:03:53):
I also listen to Critical Role at work but I listen to it on
Spotify and I can't see the pictures which is makes me sad.
So why don't you just watch it on YouTube?
Because if I watch on YouTube, somebody going to say something
to me at work. So they don't upload the video
to Spotify. No, no.

(01:04:14):
That's weird. Yeah, but yeah, but you know,
other people at work can watch like their Twitch streams and
their, you know, whatever. So why do they just say stuff to
you and not to everybody else? You need a you.
If you need me to write a letter, I can you.

(01:04:36):
Know how do I go about documenting these things so I
can assume and get paid here that's.
What I you, you start documenting them.
You start documenting them on this day, at this time, this
person you know, when on this day and this time I did, and
then I got somebody talking to me.

(01:04:58):
Yeah. OK, OK, so let's do a anime
little Yeah, we almost out. Of.
Time. Oh, we got to.
Go to Patreon. Soon sorry I'm not watching my
time I have the baby Penguins onnow do you want to do this OK do

(01:05:20):
you want to do just a little catch up on some anime that
we're that you're watching yeah sure I.
Can let me pull up my Crunchyroll?
Excuse me, I want to talk about Moonrise first.
Moonrise is pretty good. Like it's I like, I love the
animation and Moonrise is on Netflix, but I keep falling
asleep on it and it's my own fault.

(01:05:41):
I keep trying to. I keep trying to watch it at
night when I know I'm fucking tired.
Is it good? I've been watching episode 2.
I watched episode 2 like 3 timesat week.
It can't be. Good.
It's good, I promise it's good. OK, the the unaware Atelier

(01:06:02):
Meister, that was pretty good. It's cute.
It started out better. It's gotten real political now.
It's like oh, like we like the like it started out as like oh,
this guy has like his his combatabilities are shit, but his like
every all his other abilities. So like his crafting abilities,
his harvesting abilities, his like animal handling stuff is

(01:06:23):
all maxed out. So, you know, it started out he
was like doing a bunch of shit, but now it's like got to like
the, I guess the political part of the show.
So where he's not doing stuff and he's just, and it's just
like, oh, we got to hide him from this person.
We got to like do this other stuff.
And it's it's gotten real political and I don't like it.
DeMarcus, you know what we did what I OK, nevermind.

(01:06:49):
I'm I'm recording. Recording, but I also did that
whole movie pass thing and I didn't.
We didn't put nobody on to nothing.
See what happens when you mess up the arrangements the Marcus.

(01:07:10):
You messed up the arrangement. No, because you told me to do
it, so you messed up the order. Oh my God.
So. We got to be flexible, man.
This is a, this is a, this is a podcast.
We got to be able to go off the cuff.
OK, well if I can just insert myput you on and in your little

(01:07:31):
anime segment, I'm so sorry. I'm watching a lot of stuff
right now. I'm going to put you on all of
it because that's what I had prepared.
She the People by Tyler Perry. I just watched that.
It was good until dawn. What is it called?
She the people. It stars on Terry Vaughn from

(01:07:53):
Steve Harvey Morning Show, The Steve Harvey Show, The Steve
Harvey Show, and yes, really. Loretta.
Was that Sadie's girlfriend? Yeah, and it's good.
It just this, the only thing that I thought it needed was a
laugh track. That's it.

(01:08:14):
But I didn't mind. What's it about?
It's about this person who is elected as a Lieutenant governor
in Mississippi. So there's a lot of Confederate
flags around. There's a lot of people who are,
you know, not letting her do things because she's a woman.

(01:08:36):
Why did you? I don't know, Jerry.
I don't know why I did that because you said there are a lot
of people that are, you know, and I was like.
No, because she's a woman. A black woman in Mississippi
full of white people. I was like weird.
I don't know. Anyways.

(01:08:59):
That sheet of people Until Dawn,I saw that it was really cute,
but it was nothing to take home.I'm not going to play the video
game. Blood of Zeus is of course,
cute. I'm halfway through with that.
The Visitor, this was AI guess it was a art film because it
starts out with this, I don't know, Alien something.

(01:09:23):
He is invited into somebody's house and he pees and poops on a
plate and then these aristocratseat it.
And then 1 by 1, he has sex withall of them, and then they have
sex with each other. So I mean, it was actual
penetration, but it was kind of weird.

(01:09:43):
Like they showed the penetration.
Yeah, it was an art film. Oh, wow.
Mythic Quest I am watching. That's mythic quest.
What's Mythic Quest shows like? It's like a game ATV show where
they show, you know what it's like to build a video game and

(01:10:07):
it was made by Ubisoft and it's.A show about making a video
game. Yeah, and it's funny.
Murderbots. I'm watching that on Apple TV.
Cutthroat Kitchen. Well, murderbots about this this
very advanced security bot who takes off the locks in his head

(01:10:31):
and he's trying not to let the people around him know and he's
trying to find the best best time to kill everybody.
Petro Kitchen is really good. It's on Food Network.
It just, you know, kind of it's the 30 minutes cooking
competition where they have to bet money to have their

(01:10:52):
teammates at disadvantage. Mattress Chef is back.
They just did some auditions andit's couples this season, so
that's going to be fun. Yes, Chef.
My third cooking competition features Martha Stewart in a
lead hosting role, and this one has a lot of professional chefs
that are very mean to their employees, so they're trying to

(01:11:17):
learn how to balance that. And of course, Yanu I watched
when I. Was with Yanu.
It's a little it's a little young for me.
Like me too. But my mother loves it.
It's good. Like, it was good.
But I'm like, I'm like, oh, likeif I were still a teenager, I
would love, I would watch this show.
Or if I was still like, you know, a preteen, like I'll be,

(01:11:39):
I'll be really into it. Yeah, but yeah, I was like, I
was like, oh, I was like, this is like for kids, for kids.
Yeah, yeah, my mother loves it and they just got announced that
they are going to have a season 2.
Let's. Go.
All right, Yanu. OK, all right, but that is what
I am watching right now so that to your anime.

(01:12:02):
So I will, I will put I will putthe folks on something.
I watched 1000 Faces last night.Hella good movie.
Watched it on Tubi and it is about this black guy and his
black girl and the guy is from something like I've seen him in
something like the light skinnedguy got a little fro.

(01:12:24):
He was in Wu Tang. Yeah, he, I think, I think he
was in Wu Tang, the Wu Tang saga.
Oh, so he acted in Wu Tang? Yeah, he acted in Wu Tang, I
think. Or, or it might have been
something else, but I think it was Wu Tang anyway, but the
movies about this girl and this black guy and this black girl,

(01:12:46):
they go home together on like a one night stand hookup type
deal. But then there's like an escaped
like convict or something in in her neighborhood.
So they shut the neighborhood down and he can't leave.
So the whole movie takes place in her house and they can't
leave because the police are outside.
And so every time the dude triesto like, go out there, the
police are like, oh, now you gotto stay.

(01:13:09):
So this is like a one night stand.
Yeah, yes, they go to home together for like a one night
stand and I'll give you like, I'll give you like the first
like little bit of A twist when they go home together, like the
like the shit don't pop. Like he's nervous or something.
He can't get it up or he's not doing things right.
And so she's like eventually she's just like over and she's

(01:13:30):
like, all right, you know what, stop, we ain't got to do this.
And you can go home. But he tries to leave.
The police are out there. There's like you got to stay.
Where you at? OK, sounds good.
I'll I'll watch it. It is really good.
It is really good. I was watching it with Shawna
and Kiera and I think Kiera might have finished it.
I think Shawna might have fell asleep and I was like, bro, how
can you fall asleep on this goodass movie?

(01:13:51):
No, I told you to not sleep on Toby movies.
Say it again. I said I told you not to sleep
on Toby movies. But this one, this was the first
Toby movie I watched and I was like, this is actually really
good and really well done. And then they did a part and I
was like, that part was kind of wack, but.
To be is so good. To be is so good.

(01:14:12):
Like I can sit on to be all day to be going.
To be the next Netflix because they have such like, original
content and, you know, because Ithink when Netflix first came
out, like it didn't like a lot of stuff on there was like, oh,
this ain't that great. But it's like, yeah, it's not.
It doesn't have that much production value, but it's still
good. Yeah.
And the thing that is really good about to be is they let a
lot of black creators have theirfilms there.

(01:14:35):
Like a lot of black creators have their films.
They're like, I think that that one was by a black creator and
some black actors. So.
Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah, it was really good and andit deserves white.
I think it might, only it might only be like an hour and a half,
which is I I really appreciate from a movie.
Except for The Hobbit, which, yeah.
I'm I'm tired of movies being like 2 hours, 2 1/2 hours.

(01:14:57):
OK. That's interesting you would say
that. I'm getting tired of it.
I want to go see like I want youto give me the story in like an
hour. 15 plus credits. An hour 15 shut.
Up, yeah, plus like plus like whatever time you need for the
credits. Question, Marcus, that's not
going to be no time. They have to have those extra
pages because movie theaters want, I mean, yeah, movie

(01:15:20):
executives want you to be withina certain time frame, at least
90 minutes and. It used to be like we can get
like an hour and a half hour 45 movie and like.
Except for The Hobbit. 5 or 10 minutes on either end for the
credits and you know the the actual movie time is like one
15120. All right, Mike, because I have

(01:15:42):
things to say about that becauseTitanic was definitely 3 hours
long, so. Yeah, but that was, that was
like a, that was a, that was a abnormality.
Schindler's List was 3 hours long.
I'm sorry, was 3 hours long. Yes, but.
The what the point I'm making isthat when you go to the Movies
Now, you expect to be there, be in there 2 plus hours.

(01:16:04):
I mean, but that's the previews. And those movies weren't the
exception. You know, I'm saying like, like
the like Schindler's List, Titanic, The Green Mile, those
movies were the exception. The Hobbit.
Let's say your favorite movie. I think by the time The Hobbit
was coming around we were like making the switch, so it wasn't
as much as the exception. Anyway, back to anime because we

(01:16:31):
got to go fast. I'm watching Fire Force.
Fire Force is really good. It's better than last season in
like this. Season and all.
They are. They are like the eighth fight
was all about the 8th Fire Brigade.
And so they don't figure it out like the the government is in on

(01:16:52):
is trying to like destroy the world or whatever.
And so like the 8th grade is like been branded enemies.
Then I got kicked out and now they all like Renegades or
whatever. It's for the underground.
I'm watching My Hero Academia vigilantes and that was getting
good. They just introduced fucking
Stain in the last episode because he was a hero called

(01:17:14):
something else before, but then he got his ass beat.
He was like, I'm gonna be staying.
Staying. Hero Killer Stain from My Hero
Academia. The last episode I saw they
introduced that girl. You gotta watch.
Was the polygraph girl. You gotta watch episode 7 Makoto

(01:17:34):
slash truth. Yeah, I watched that episode
last episode. OK with the girl.
With cause 'cause like the main characters in college and the
girl was like, I can help you. OK, yeah, I did see that
episode. I thought those were the same

(01:17:54):
episodes. So I was like a a pop B pop
thing, but maybe not the beginning after the end, which
is about this king who dies in his reincarnated as like a as
like a little boy. He's like learning magic and
stuff and like learning how to like, be a person all over again
and like he's being raised by good people.
No, sorry. Oh, no.

(01:18:16):
Oh my God. This wolf is eating the seal.
This baby seal is dead. The ball was just looking on.
Sorry. I'm so sorry.
Keep going. Yeah, I'm watching Windbreaker,
which is dope. It's the it's the second season
and I can't really remember what's happening.

(01:18:37):
I think they're like trying to teach the the main character
like how to be a leader at this school of delinquents.
This this in season 2 Tiogonia is going good The.
I just queued that up today. No, yeah, Tiogonia is really
good. I'm enjoying that one.

(01:18:58):
It's a little that the the voiceacting is a little weird, like
it feels, it feels very like bland at some moments, but it's
it's like all together it's a good show.
Are you watching a dub? Maybe, maybe that's what's going
on, I can't remember at this point.
And then I only watched the first episode of To Be Hero X

(01:19:18):
and it. Was.
That's so good. Yeah, it was so good.
I loved it. And that was about a guy trying
to like, I just chose to, like, replace a hero.
And you become a hero by, like, in this world.
You become a hero by just, like, people believing in you.
Like, so you can just, like, market yourself as a hero.
People started believing you andthen you get powers.

(01:19:40):
Go ahead. So you're not watching Super
Cube? I couldn't find it man, I was
trying. I like I was like looking
online. Send me a link to watch it where
I can watch it and I'll watch it.
I don't have no link. Where are you watching then?
We'll talk about that in the Patreon.
OK, cool 'cause I'm going to watch it anyway.

(01:20:02):
Do you recap stuff? Oh my recap.
I can get my recap when the timecomes for recap.
Ain't it right now ain't ain't your time for?
Recap. No, it's all done. 2025 When we
do the summer, we always start off with the rehab.
When we do our two right and arewe watching?

(01:20:23):
2025 We always start off with a recap.
I thought we were doing anime catch up segment in this
episode. What have I just been talking
about? I mean you, you can do it.
That was cool. So you don't want to do it?
You don't do anime ketchup. I mean, the only thing I will
say, 'cause I want to, I don't want to say same thing two times

(01:20:45):
only I will say, yeah. The only thing I will say is
that I'm really enjoying the gaystoryline and cow loon generic
romance. And that, you know, the title
told us everything we needed to know about that.
Also. I am.
What does Kowloon tell you aboutthat story?

(01:21:07):
I don't know what that word means.
Yeah, you have to watch it. OK, I don't watch it.
The first episode of that one too.
Yeah, yeah, Yep. I'm gonna watch the first
episode. And what else do I want to say
about this? And let me go turn the page
because there's one that I'm notwatching anymore.

(01:21:30):
OK, find this is the Marcus Gay.Here we go anime.
Oh, I got to watch Lazarus when this is over.
Your former is the one I'm not watching anymore.
Yeah, your former honest. I stopped watching that one.
But mostly everything that you said to watch.

(01:21:54):
I'm going to start watching Tiagonia hopefully today.
But yeah, I'm not watching your former anymore.
Too smart for me. I didn't feel like reading it
and feeling better, so yeah. So yeah, I don't.

(01:22:20):
Think the Kowloon, I won't watchit.
I don't. And I don't think I'm watching
the other one you mentioned either.
Yeah, I know you won't watch that one.
Are you watching The Last of Us?I saw some of it because Shawna
was watching it, but you didn't.Watch the first season.

(01:22:42):
Stuff. I'm watching Daredevil and I'm
like, I'm enjoying that one, OK?Daredevil was good.
I mean, it ended where it shouldhave became but.
It's good you. Didn't watch the first season of
The Last of Us, right? I didn't finish it.
I'm I'm like close to it. That's why I didn't really watch
the the second season episodes when Sean was.

(01:23:03):
Watching I need. I need to finish the first
season and then you know. It's been like 2 years, so if
you're not going to do it, you don't tell me.
What to do? No, I just said so and I bet
you're not going to. Do it now.
I'm not going to do what you say.
I mean, and I said to watch it and then you started watching
it, so. And I watched it because I want.

(01:23:26):
To watch it or did you watch it because I told you to?
OK, well after I said watch it, you started watching it.
So the order of the best was. You got some more to talk about
in this episode. No, nothing else to talk about.
Any final words you got? To go to the air.
So yeah. Do you have any final words,
Jerry? I just asked you.

(01:23:52):
Yeah, as y'all can tell, like our lives are getting pretty
interesting. I'm always doing fun things, but
it's but Jared is now also doingfun things like arguing with
past employers. Yeah.
And playing Marvel. And playing Marvel, man, yo, I
think, I think we need to start adding like a segment for that.

(01:24:14):
Like every time you play, you talk about it.
Tell us about how how the game went.
OK. Yeah, OK, boss, Pollination.
But you gotta, you gotta watch it too.
Oh yeah, I am. I'm gonna do my best.
You can have it on the background.
Yeah, I can like while I'm doingdishes and stuff and just listen
to it. You can have it all.

(01:24:35):
What? You're having sex.
I don't I don't know about that.Why not?
I have had sex a critical role before.
So I got I got to listen to I got to see what the vibes are
first. I don't have sex to anything low
key if the if the vibes are right.
I tried. I tried having sex to What's the

(01:24:56):
one where the folks with autism are trying to find love?
Love on the spectrum. I've tried to have sex today and
it was weird. Wait, I'm just not piercing this
stuff together. I'll talk to one of your exes
and they said I'm not going to say her name.

(01:25:19):
I got to know which one to see. You will find out on the
Patreon. OK.
And she said that I've listened to Critical Role and I wanted to
know what was going on. That's why I'm now playing D&D.

(01:25:41):
So, OK, if you want to find out more about this, you can join us
on our Patreon. But yeah.
I'm going to be there 'cause I want to find out more.
You don't remember when she saidthis?
I don't I got AI mean it. It sounds vaguely familiar, but
I need more details and so I'm excited to get to the picture on
OK. Alright, yeah, that's in the

(01:26:04):
right episode. See you next week.
See you next time bge out. Jerry forgot to do all his
responsibilities all. Right, the mic is no because.

(01:26:26):
You know that. I did.
I got to do the social media. I got to do the social media 1st
and see, OK, you got to stop telling me what to do on here
and you be telling you be telling me to go to do the final
word, be telling me to do the put you, not to put you on, but
movie pass segment. We got the script already.

(01:26:51):
We need to stick to the script, but you can e-mail.

How much did you? Did you know that?
How much you know? How much did you?
It's $3 but if you go to Apple it's 450 if you 3.
