Another "freestyle" mix. This time, I stumbled across a crate that was created earlier this year but I never played the sett or worked it out or anything. "Working out a sett" is what I do when I get together lots of music. For example I may go to one of my fave websites such as Traxsource, and there, I may get 20-25 songs: Soulful House, Classic House, Funky Disco, Boogie, whatever. From there I'll decide on HOW I want to showcase the music. I'll sit for hours, going through those songs and arrange them how I want them to be played. I listen really good because a lot of what I do is about "feeling" and the vibe and energy I want to give when I'm playing the sett. It's also about - who is my crowd, who am I playing for. There are a lot of factors that go into what we DJs do when we want to play our music. YES! I've created thousands of playlists and crates over the years because the essence of what I learned as a DJ was about PLAYING AND SHARING MUSIC so that the people can feel something too! In this episode I'm pumping out some House, Dance, 80's, R&B, and breakbeats music from such artists as OR, TIMMY THOMAS, SAMANTHA JAMES, KUNA MAZE/NIKITCH, MIGUEL MIGS, KEVIN SWAIN, MICHAEL JACKSON, AND SIMPLE MINDS! I think it might be a good mixture of several genres, sounds and grooves that should get you ready for a cool evening's barbeque or something to listen to as you're getting ready to head out on the town for a Saturday night party.
