Raised in Brandon Manitoba Daren Millard was a day one employee of Rogers Sportsnet, the network that was "never designed to succeed". Millard lasted 20 years with Rogers before parting ways with the network he helped build.
Most often between Nick Kypreos and Doug MacLean and a frequent guest or guest of Prime Time Sports Millard did it right. He made his way up the food chain starting in a small town and working all the way up to the big leagues.
What was originally described as an amicable parting of ways, actually stung when Sportsnet elected not to renew his contract on August 1, 2018. While he grew tired of hearing people tell him that everything happens for a reason, his hard work, stellar reputation paid off as he and his family relocated to Vegas to join the Golden Knights in what has been a magical launch to the franchise.
"My wife and I stop every once in a while and pinch ourselves because we can't really believe this is our life".
Proving once again that good things happen to good people.
