Blended Blessings: Episode 7: Are You Building the Best, or Living with Toxic Ties?

We just read a meme that says, "A perfect marriage is just two imperfect people, who refuse to give up on each other."

We need to ask ourselves, are the people in our life supporting the best version of us, or are they creating toxic ties that always seem to unravel our day? Now we must ask ourselves, if the person that comes to mind was some random stranger, would we allow them the freedom to walk all over us, to control and manipulate every aspect of our existence?

We believe in doing everything possible to salvage a marriage, or any relationship for that matter, and we believe family comes first. With that said, there are just some people in our lives, who we don't need dragging us down.

In this episode, we talk about identifying those people that are simply "downers", and strengthening the relationships with those who are "uppers". Just as a healthy marriage relies on imperfections and bases itself on a refusal to fail; our relationship with God never wavers. As we learn to put Him first, and to rely on His direction, He helps us to navigate the ups and downs of daily living and allows us to live in freedom. He truly is greater than the highs and the lows.
