My second in command is here,Lady Mandalore.
What's going on?
Hi, how are.
How.
I'm good.
How are you?
How is.
How is your week post sinners?
(04:51):
Yes, Lord.
Yes Lord.
I gotta.
My mom is supposed to go with me.
We were trying to get sometickets for.
I was trying to get sometickets for the imax.
Sold out all the way throughWednesday and Wednesday's the last
day they're having multiple showings.
See, here's the thing.
(05:12):
It's.
It's an angry thing, but it'sa good thing because that means people
are going to see it but extend it.
What you mean two weeks in theIMAX theater?
No, ain't nothing else.
I.
I am mad about that.
I am so mad about that.
Rude.
Because look, I'm just likeyo, like, like today they were doing.
(05:32):
If you have a 70 millimeterIMAX theater.
No, no, it's not that.
No, no, no.
And like I'm.
I deserved one.
You've seen.
I went.
So I'ma tell the peoplebecause I went off in our group chat
because to far I went and theysnatched those things up.
That.
You get it.
(05:53):
What happens is if you make itto a 70 millimeter iMac showing today,
you get a piece of the film.
Now, as.
As the crew on this ship, weare collectors.
We like this type of stuff.
I have a sale from BlackPanther that was given to me as a
gift, and I.
I.
Why would I sell that?
(06:13):
He gave it to me because heknows I'm a fan.
So I still have that.
And so far, I show that peopleare on ebay already reselling this
stuff.
And I said, these type ofpeople make me sick.
I know one thing.
They had better have bought a ticket.
They had better have bought a ticket.
(06:34):
I know it's those type ofpeople upset.
They.
You're the one.
You're part of that people.
You're part of that crew of people.
I put you in the same pool ofpeople who they hate on something
before they even see it orjust hate to be hating it or don't
even know what they're talking about.
(06:54):
I put you in that pool of people.
I hear it.
Tubman, y'all.
I just put y'all over there.
I can't save y'all.
There's no saving.
I'm sorry.
You know, so other than that, but we the crew that's here now.
What's going on, Mal?
What's happening?
Lizzie's in the building.
She made it in early.
Hey, Mel.
Hey, Lizzy.
And of course, of courseBama's here.
(07:16):
Dick Bama.
But no, it's for as far as a.
A week out.
A week of center talk.
It's been a week only.
No.
Yes.
Yeah, it's been a week.
Yes.
Thursday, Thursday.
Thursday to Wednesday.
So, yeah, almost a week.
Yeah.
(07:37):
I hope you guys were proudbecause we're replaying our breakdown
tomorrow, so tune in for that.
So.
But yeah, I.
I couldn't be more happy.
I.
I am very proud.
I'm very proud.
I want to be happy.
I'm proud.
(07:58):
You know what?
I.
Let's see if our guest just.
She just beamed in.
Our guest did.
Andrea Rose Washington is inthe building.
What's going on?
Andrea, hi.
I love.
How has your week been?
Yes, it's been amazing.
I'm recovering from mybirthday last week, so I spent most
(08:18):
of this week just.
Oh, fellow Aries.
All right, thank you.
We're kind of tough this monthbecause April's a.
It's an amazing month.
It's just an amazing month.
What month is your birthday?
January.
So, you know, we get it.
But you know what?
When people show up for ourbirthdays, we know that they real
(08:44):
in the Winter, I know you feel real.
Okay.
I know you love me.
Loyalty.
That's what we treasure.
Let me properly introduceeveryone to our guest.
Andrea Rose Washington is aauthor, she is a podcaster.
She is a writer of many things.
Trekkie, if I'm not mistaken.
I am a Trekkie, but I am nolonger on the podcast, though, so.
Okay, okay.
(09:04):
Just making sure.
So I'm feeling Trekkie, andthat's fine.
Like, look, for those who tryto pit, put Trekkies against Star
wars fans.
Shame on you.
Don't do that.
It's enough room for both fandoms.
I'm just gonna say that.
Wait, one is better.
(09:25):
Wait a minute.
What we doing?
It depends on what the project is.
That's what it is.
Oh, that's.
That's a little tough.
That's a little tough.
I don't know.
I just want to say.
Oh, one storyline sort ofmakes sense and one's just all over
the place.
And I, I, I love.
(09:46):
I'm a.
I'm a Trekkie at heart forever.
Well, we're not talking aboutthe one where they try to save the
whales.
I'm just saying it was like, speaking of Star Trek.
Well, no, I'm kidding.
Like, this one force is the.
There's so much for Star Wars.
Of course, there's a lot of.
A lot of aliens to deal with, opposed to just staying on one ship.
(10:09):
That's what it is.
And going boldly where no onehas gone before.
That's fine.
And we're all over the place.
So that's.
I mean, I get what you'resaying, but we didn't in a good place.
What's going on?
Whoopty.
Freaking dudes in the building.
What's going on?
Whoopty.
Hello.
(10:29):
I need to ask our guests, Idon't know if you've seen Sinners
yet.
I have not.
I have, but I am not afraid ofspoilers, and I actively love them
because my anxiety goes crazy.
So I have watched a lot of iton Tick Tock on purpose.
(10:51):
I have seen so many scenes, and I'm like, okay.
When I go to the theater, Iwill not.
I will not cry.
You will not be disappointed.
You definitely would not belike, oh, my God.
You might.
Honestly, you might.
Oh, it's not that scary.
It's not that kind.
No, no, no, no.
I didn't know that, but now Iknow that, so I'm like, okay, okay,
okay, okay.
It's gonna be amazing becauseI can watch it all the way through
(11:12):
without.
Going, yes, it's It's.
It's.
It's a.
I'm finding myself to be a cinephile.
And it's a kind of.
It's a must see.
It's a must see film.
If you are a fan ofcinematography, this is a must see
film.
If you are a fan of symbolism, this is a must see film.
(11:33):
If you're a fan of blackfolks, this is a must see film.
So.
So we kind of hit all themarks, you know, if you're a fan
of vampires and erotic stuff, yeah, this is the must see.
You got to go see it, you know?
So I want to shout outfantastic Frankie, because I've seen
a post she did earlier, and Iloved how she addressed the eroticism.
(11:58):
She said, there.
There's.
They addressed this, the sexand the eroticism without having
nudity.
And I said, you know what?
You're right.
And it's the way they address it.
And I said, you know what?
I picked up on that.
And it's like, you don't.
You know it, but you don't.
And I'm glad they didn't gothat full Monty money shot situation,
(12:21):
because it wasn't necessary.
There's.
There's films we've seen whereit's like, yeah, this didn't do anything
for the story.
No at all.
Usually comes at the expenseof the women.
Like, the men.
Yes.
As.
As fantastic Frankie said.
She was like, all tit, nobeef, just like.
Okay, Andrea.
(12:46):
Yeah.
Let's get to you.
You are a writer or author.
Yeah.
However you want to dress.
Either is fine.
You have either.
Fine.
Now, I know you have two booksout right now.
A Mentor's Magic and AMentor's Magic.
The Last Air book too.
Let's talk about these two books.
So, yes, I gave you two of my books.
(13:08):
I do have more, but I wouldtake up the entire time just talking
about all my books.
I was like, I'll do the onesthat are the most popular.
That's what you're here for, ma'am.
I also want to talk about someother stuff that I saw.
So I was like, you know what?
Let's give everyone everything.
She's being fair and gracious.
I like that.
(13:28):
But Amatree's Magic, Book oneand two is one of.
It's like that book.
When everyone asks me what myfavorite book is, I can never answer.
Because, you know, it's like you.
If you have children, you cannever say which one you love the
most.
Everyone has a favorite.
No one says it out loud.
(13:49):
But this is true.
But I You love them indifferent ways.
I have a book that made me an.
That made me an authority.
I have the book that I grewthe most.
Writing it put me through the most.
And then I have the book thatwas just fun, and it was so much
fun.
And that's Amateur's MagicBook 1 and 2.
(14:10):
I.
I was working in D.C.
when I came up with the ideaout of all my characters, Olivia
London, she's the unbound witch.
She's the main character inthis story.
She's the most like me.
She handles things the waythat I would the.
In the most random way if Ihad magic.
And I just.
(14:31):
I just love that story.
So that's why I decided togive that one to you guys today,
because Olivia, she is me, andI am her.
I love how you just said thatOlivia is the unbound witch, and
I said, that's kind of a cooltitle to walk around with.
Yeah.
So Olivia, I'm the unboundone, but we've heard about you.
(14:56):
Unbound witches and unboundmagicals or witches, they are people
who are live without a coven.
In D.C.
there is the hierarchy, whereyou have the elites, people who are
in the covens, and the peoplewho are not.
And I got this idea walkingacross Congress, and I.
Because I would pass it, goingto my office, and I would just think
(15:17):
of that Hamilton song roomwhere it happens, and I'm like, there
is so much that is happeningin this city that no one will ever
see, that some people that I,a person who has lived in this area
my entire life, will neversee, will never be a part of.
And that's sort of that.
(15:38):
That's where amateurs comes from.
It's the world of D.C.
that you don't get to seebecause you don't have magic.
And it is about Olivia London.
She's an unbound witch.
And then the owner of the shopwhere she works is.
Is murdered by a cult, andshe's thrown into the underground
coven system that she wantsnothing to do with.
And in that process, sheknows, like, it's sort of thrust
(16:00):
upon her to save the day, butshe's actively fighting main character
syndrome.
She's like, hold up.
I have a life plan for myself, and it does not involve this.
I.
I'm gonna let y'all handle this.
I'm just trying to run a shopfor other people like me.
She's trying to be acommunity, someone in her community
to help other unbound witchesand magicals and beings that are,
(16:22):
like, cast out from the coven system.
She has A plan for her life, and it does not involve mixing with
the politics and it's sort ofbeing thrown on her.
And this is how she's sort ofhandling it.
And so I have one more comingin that series, but it is, it is
my most favorite.
I'm not gonna hold you.
That is every making of aheroin or hero y.
(16:47):
It's literally like I'mminding my own business.
I help people whenever I can,and then I'm back in the shadows.
I, I don't want the praise, Idon't want the accolades.
I'm just doing the right thingand something major always happens.
And it's like, look, I'm not.
It's Jon Snow.
(17:10):
Like, I'm not trying to be king.
I don't want to be king.
Yeah, but you're the best fit,you know, so it's, it's one of those
things.
Lady Mandela question.
I, I think I want to know moreabout the, the book.
I don't know how much more youcan give away.
I'm intrigued.
I, I.
To say that.
(17:30):
I say that to say I am intrigued.
No, I can tell you so much more.
People tell me.
So my book, I like to keepthem near me.
Near and dear.
Love the COVID It likeinstantly would have been like, oh,
piece of candy.
What is this?
I'm gonna show.
(17:51):
I'm gonna show it again so thepeople can see it too.
Yeah, those covers.
Love the hair.
Love the hair.
Yeah.
So I, I am not natural with myhair, but I wanted my characters
to be.
I'm just too tender headed andlazy and I, But I love it and I appreciate
it and I, I've.
(18:12):
It's so beautiful.
And so I was like, well, I'mgoing to give my character the thing
that I don't have for myself, which is natural hair.
So her hair is out.
It is beautiful.
She does not do like, shemaintains it, and I love it.
And I live vicariously through her.
So if I was natural and hadmore patience and understanding,
I would be.
I would have that hairunderstood and accepted.
(18:37):
Yes.
Yeah.
I, I see what it takes to havethat beautiful crown.
And I, it is a journey.
I don't even like wrapping myhair sometimes.
So you know where that's wherewe're at.
But this story, this storytakes place in different parts of
D.C.
and in Maryland.
It really focuses on Oliviafinding herself.
(18:59):
So my main character, she grewup in the foster care system.
She didn't have access to alot that a lot of people in the covens
had.
She didn't know she wasmagical until she was a teenager.
And she really had a reallygreat mentor who was like, who?
Mrs.
Coe, who is the owner of themagical supply shop, who truly guides
(19:20):
her and helps her and is like,a sec.
Is.
Is like basically her mother.
The closest thing that Oliviahas to a mother figure, to a mother.
That is who Mrs.
Ko is.
And I actually.
Actually based her, the olderversion of her, off of my grandmother,
because Mrs.
Coe is that woman who tookcare of the people around her, who
(19:42):
took care of her community, who helped anyone who was in need.
Who.
You need $20, honey?
Grandma, I got a job.
I'm good.
Like, you don't need money.
Take the $20.
Yeah, okay, I'll take the money.
I'll take the money.
I'm not gonna argue with you.
You're 100.
I'm not gonna.
Like, you literally are 100.
(20:05):
And so that's who Mrs.
Co was.
And she saw Olivia as ateenager, saw that she had no idea
the life that she was a partof, and decides to take her in and
decides to help her and istruly loves and cares.
Cares about this girl, but shealso doesn't want to, like, trap
her into a life.
She, like, forces her to get ajob outside of the.
(20:26):
Outside of the shop, to meetpeople, to make her.
To make connections.
And Olivia is.
No.
She says, I'm gonna go to work.
I'm gonna go home.
I'm gonna hang out with my twofriends because all y'all people
are too much.
Like, I don't trust y'all.
Like, I.
I'll work with y'all.
Yeah, yeah, go ahead, co workers.
Go on your paint and sip andleave me alone.
(20:46):
It's cool.
Because I don't trust y'all anyway.
I'm gonna go home with myfriend, and we're gonna drink wine
in my apartment and have fun.
That's who Olivia is.
She minds.
Minds her business, gets herjob done.
And during that time in mylife when I was writing that, that's
how I was.
I didn't really connect with alot of my co workers.
Not because anything waswrong, but we just didn't really.
(21:07):
You know, you don't get alongwith everyone.
That doesn't mean any.
They're.
It doesn't mean anyone's wrong.
Your co workers are your coworkers, and.
And that's where the line draws.
That's where nutrition statethe way it should be.
Like, you have those fewpeople who you connect with, and
they become like your family, but for the most part, you go to
(21:28):
work to make the check.
And so that's how Oliviaviewed it.
And she's like, I have myfriends at home.
Like, yeah, sometimes it'snice to be invited some places, but
for the most part, we're fromtwo different worlds, and we don't
understand each other.
And I'm not trying to crossover to your world, and you sure
as heck is not trying to crossover into mine.
And she knows that, and that's.
(21:50):
And she's like, I'm not tryingto become like you guys.
I have my own world where Ifit in, that I'm gonna stay in my
lane and do my thing, becausethis is what I love.
And so as the storyprogressed, that sort of breaks for
her.
She's forced to interact withpeople on the other side of the world,
people in the covens.
You have those who want tosupport her, and then you have those
(22:11):
who are just like, who saidyou can be on this side of the tracks?
Like, what are you doing?
Who do you think you are?
And so there's a couple moresecrets that are revealed that I
can't tell you guys about, naturally.
Go buy the book, people.
Yes, go buy the books.
If you want them signed inpurple ink, you can get them from
my website.
Just saying, if it's not inpurple, it's not from me.
(22:34):
Purple wig.
But she.
She has this really greatcircle of friends that are around
her, and I just really wantedto focus on that, and I wanted to
focus on that main characterwho actively fought against being
main character.
Because, you know, sometimesyou read those stories where the
(22:55):
heroine's like, we gotta stop them.
It's wrong what they're doing.
We like, if I have to lead theway, I will.
She's like, okay, look, Iagree what they're doing is wrong,
but you're the police.
Handle it like, right.
What were y'all doing before Igot here?
Like, this is your job.
This is not on me, wherethey're after you.
(23:17):
You're the police.
Do your job.
And so she has that mentality.
And so it was sort of funwriting the Reluctant Hero because
sometimes, you know, in life, you know, when your job gives you
that more work with no extrapay, and you're just like, huh.
Yeah, I know.
I'm capable.
(23:41):
I'm good.
It's not necessary.
I'm all right.
This.
This goes.
This is.
It's above me.
It's above me.
It's above me Now.
That line, that's above my pay grade.
That's never going to be anold line that will never be old line,
I swear between it's above me now.
And think big, those two.
I will live by ours.
(24:04):
Our fellow bibliophile.
Wolfie, you got questions?
Yeah, you were mentioning howparts of your every day have informed
your world building.
Like, how do you look atwhat's going on around you and go
like, okay, this.
I want to be part of my book.
So funny story, I was walking.
This is actually perfectbecause today I took a walk down
(24:25):
to the river after on my lunch break.
Because, you know, when you'rean adult, you can actually like just
do things like, oh, wait, Ican go do this.
Which it just recently hit me.
I'm so sorry, but I.
There's a.
There's the river like twomiles a mile away from my job.
And so for my lunch break, instead of eating, I decided to go
(24:46):
take a walk down to the river, get some fresh air, somewhat of the
fresh air from that river, somewhat.
Get a nice little iced tea towalk back to my.
My office.
And I was walking in Old Townand I was trying to figure out something
for book three of where liketheir headquarters might be.
(25:08):
And I saw this old buildingthat was probably there from when
Old Town Alexandria firstactually became a thing.
And I took a photo of it andI'm like, you're going to be in the
book.
You're going to be something.
You're going to be a scene.
Because I could see the sceneof Olivia and her friends.
Can't say thank you, Olivia.
(25:34):
Can't.
I can't say, I can't tell youOlivia's friends because then you'll
know certain things about who, certain aspects.
But there is going to be aneed for like a little mini headquarters
in book three.
And I found the location forit today because just walking and
seeing the city and seeingthese old buildings and seeing how,
(25:56):
you know, this does have thatconnection to history.
Maybe not all good history, but there were about two or three
buildings that I saw todaythat I took photos of that will be
show showcased in book threeof Amateur Tree's Magic.
Because just walking in thecity, seeing again, I just got inspired
by where that black church wasand then where that historical building
(26:19):
was and just like the emblemon the outside and like, oh, you
look like you were part of theFreemasons, huh?
Secret society.
That fits into this whole ideaof needing a secret headquarters.
I like this.
And I took a photo.
Hopefully there's no likephoto of me taking a photo on some
(26:40):
random old building, butthat's How I sort of figure out what
I want to go into my book.
I was driving in some part ofMaryland, and I could just see where
Olivia's house was from one ofthe scenes, because I was driving
on the road, and the treeswere, like, on both sides, and it
was like that very narrow.
(27:01):
Only maybe one and a half carscan fit through at a time.
Like, one car is going all theway to the side, like that old country
road.
And I fell in love with theway the trees just sort of canopied
over us, and it was almostblocking out the sun.
And I'm like, there's, like, asecret entrance right off of here
that no one would ever thinkto look at because they're just so
focused on trying to getthrough, they'll miss the magic of
(27:24):
a secret entrance.
And that's how I figured outwhere she was gonna live.
And so, yeah, it's literallyjust walking and experiencing the
area.
And then sometimes if I'mlike, if I have a certain idea in
my head, it just falls intoplace like a puzzle.
I'm.
I'm glad you mentioned that, because I was going to say, what
(27:46):
were your.
What other influences that you have?
And I'm glad you mentioned allof those things, because you going
out and about around the cityand everything else that influences
you, that kind of gets a spark going.
And you say, you know what wedo walk through our lives not really
paying attention to just details.
(28:08):
You could walk by something, like you said, a old street that
really only one car can passat a time, and nobody thinks anything
of it.
But then you look at it froman artistic or a creative point of
view, and you're just like, yeah, this would be cool to be like
this, you know, and we don'tnotice these things, you know, these
old churches, these olderbuildings, and we never think about
(28:29):
what's in them, Never beenthem in them in a day in our life.
But you never.
And you never think about, Iwonder how many people have passed
through here of importance orwhat important event happened here,
just like when you wasmentioned in Congress.
What important in that?
We know there's plenty ofimportant events that happen, but
(28:50):
what was a moment that waslike the linchpin or what was the
fuse that lit it, you know, and go through that.
What shows or movies orcharacters give you influences on
some of your writing?
They can also hear you, so.
Oh, yeah.
(29:14):
Hi, baby.
I know she's over there.
She's talking to me.
My bad.
No, no, no, you're good.
I didn't Know if you, if youknew, you unmuted yourself.
Oh, there she is.
Okay, so for shows and movies, that is sort of like a hard question
because I, I can't, I'm notnecessarily sure I can say any.
(29:40):
And not for the fact that Idon't think anything inspires me
because I am inspired.
Like there is a short storyhave in my short storybook scenes
out of place.
I was gonna ask you about that.
The wonderful Jocelyn Shortdid the art for.
Oh, yeah, Shout out to Jocelyn now.
That tracks.
Okay, I get it.
(30:02):
I get it.
Yeah.
Looks like you.
It's.
I, I got inspired by a TV showthat I had saw called Arc on Sci
Fi.
And it sort of inspired ashort story that I wrote.
But a lot of times for my, formy other books, I, I, I didn't, I
purposely didn't like watchanything in that genre as I was writing
(30:25):
it because I didn't want it toremind people of something I wrote
them specifically because Iwasn't seeing this story on tv.
I wasn't seeing this versionof it, of the way I wanted each and
every single word to lay outon tv.
And so I can't, I don't, I'mnot sure if something did, then I
(30:50):
must not have realized itbecause I won't.
I will not.
I watch a lot.
I watch so much tv.
A little too much tv.
Oh, you're amongst family.
You're fine.
Because I loved like, Predator.
I loved all the Harry Potter movies.
I, I love basically almost anyExpanse Star Trek.
(31:14):
I've watched so many sci fi TVshows, I've watched so many magic
TV shows, but I'm not quitesure I follow sort of anything similar
from what I saw in my, myoriginal three.
Trilogies and only ask.
I only.
That is because when youdescribe Olivia and basically her
mentor, I think of Buffy andGiles and having the magical shop,
(31:38):
you know, and it's like itjust looks like a random shop that
sells crystals.
But there is so much moregoing on in that shop or in Supernatural
those final seasons.
The, the Winchesters comeacross a bunker that happens to be
the old bunker for the Men of Letters.
And there's a ton of stuff inthere, you know, that no one would
ever think because you walkout the bunker, it just looks like
(32:00):
a random rusted out falloutshelter, you know, that nobody would
ever see because it's off thebeaten path and no one would ever
come across it.
So I think about stuff likethat and, and wonder, like what influences
someone to add something to itor it Has a moment of.
Of epiphany to say, hey, youknow what?
(32:21):
This would be cool, but let'stwist it.
I.
I'm gonna, like, pick up myface, eat my words real quick, because
there is something.
There is a show that I.
I'm now realizing, like, asyou were explaining, that I'm now
seeing it.
The show that influencedAmadri's magic the most.
It was Charmed.
(32:41):
It was how world.
The original charm.
Yes, yes.
Before.
Before.
Yeah.
The magic in the real world.
I've always.
I've always loved real lifeand magic happening in the same universe.
While I did love Harry Potter,it sort of sucked that, like, they
(33:04):
were so ignorant of literallyso many other.
Like, this whole Muggle worldis like, you live there.
Like, you.
Like, you're not on adifferent plane.
You're not in a different dimension.
You are in this.
You live.
They're your neighbors.
What are you talking about?
You don't know what's going on.
It was both sides.
Yeah.
Like one.
Like the Muggle side.
They were either.
(33:25):
You were either exposed to itby accident, and that's how you noticed
it, or you didn't notice it at all.
And then the other side, theyjust was like, oh, they are dirty
people.
We don't.
Yeah.
Difference of technology wasbetween them.
Like, how one world was stillliving like they did.
And the Regency era with lampsand quills and parchment, and it's
(33:50):
like, pens exist.
Don't tell me.
You don't tell me penswouldn't be easier.
A pencil wouldn't be easierthan ink and a quill.
What are we doing?
What are we doing?
And I loved that in Charmed,it was.
You had a day job.
That didn't mean you're.
And your job could havenothing to do with magic, with the
magic, with anything that'sgoing on.
(34:11):
And there were people whoknew, people who didn't.
But they weren't disconnectedfrom each other.
They still walk the same streets.
They still shopped at the samegrocery store.
They might have been an extralittle store to, you know, get your
magical supplies, butotherwise, it was in the real world.
And that always.
(34:32):
That always stuck with me.
And now I'm realizing, yeah, charm probably had a really big thing
to do with.
I will say the Hallowell sisters.
I will say the Hallowellsisters, they would not be able to
afford the house insurance for us.
As many times as that househas been through.
He just fixed everything for them.
(34:53):
The house was paid off.
With that first season, I'mlike, man, they are tearing this
house up.
I'm like, you know, they buythem both.
They got a warehouse withspare parts.
Like, tore up all the crown molding.
It's just not making sense anymore.
No, but so you.
(35:15):
You mentioned.
You mentioned Charmed and.
And I mentioned Supernatural, and so actually, Bama mentioned Warehouse
13, which is.
Which is still one of myfavorite shows.
What drives you for your characters?
Because I like now scenes outof place.
I was going to ask you about.
Season of Place is acollection of short stories.
(35:38):
Everything from dragonsreawakening to surviving a zombie
apocalypse to finding yourselfwhen you didn't ask to be there.
It came out last October.
But what drives me to write isI'm seeing it a lot now.
Like, more.
But when I was a kid, I wasthat kid who read, like, with the
(36:00):
pillow, the light under the.
The covers.
Like, hiding the book underthe pillow when your mom comes in.
I read everything.
I read all the Scooby Doo movie.
All the Scooby Doo books.
Like, the actual books.
I own them.
The Mary Kate and Ashley books.
Like, I had those peopleforget those people.
Forget those.
(36:21):
Any.
Any, like, fantasy stories.
My.
I remember my brother read theAnamorph series.
Like, we.
We were huge readers growingup, and I.
I loved the stories, but Inever saw myself as the main character.
I always saw myself as theirbest friend, as the one random character
(36:43):
that came in for this one bookas the disposable girlfriend.
When I got older, I go, theydate him.
They date her until they findthe one they get with one they really
wanted.
We were the plot armor or thecannon fodder.
And I want to go to space.
I am literally that girl.
Like, if they were doing allthese space launches 50 years ago
(37:06):
and we had a chance to go livein space, I'm gonna go do that, because
why not?
Why not?
I want to live in space.
I want to have magic.
I am that girl that goes on acruise, and every single time, I
look up to the heavens and Isay, God, if you tell me if I jump
off this boat, I become amermaid, I will trust you.
(37:27):
Like, and I close my eyes, andhe doesn't.
He says nothing.
And I'm like, okay, next time.
Like, I.
Especially nowadays, I waslike, this is just.
They just revealing, oh,there's aliens.
And everybody's just like, yeah, at this point, we don't care.
(37:48):
Let me be a mermaid.
And I want to see.
I loved all of this.
I wanted to be in that world.
I wanted to see all of this.
And I wasn't seeing it withpeople who looked like me.
And I decided I had to change that.
And then I love.
So all my main characters areblack women.
Because we can be leads too.
(38:09):
And we can, we can havefantasy stories.
We can have sci fi stories.
We can be in a world with high elves.
We can do all of that and.
Or high fantasy with elves, not high elves or, you know, do you.
Let's do that.
(38:30):
Up in Lord of the Rings.
So that drives me is makingthose stories where we can.
Where black people are theleads for no other reason than we
exist.
And this is not a dis to anyother types of stories.
But I've noticed that when I'mat conventions, people always ask,
oh, where are your charactersfrom the dmv?
(38:52):
Because that's where I'm from.
Like, it's like, oh, well, why.
Why is your main character black?
Because I'm black.
Black people exist.
And those are.
That's an actual question Iactually got.
And I was like, because I'm black.
Because we exist.
And there doesn't need to be areason why the main character is
black.
Like, it's just, it just is.
(39:14):
We just, we, we exist.
And I, that's what my main, my.
All my main characters areblack because black people exist,
not because they're from acertain area which is again, no shade
to that.
But it's like we can, we don'thave to make an excuse of why the
character is the, is the skincolor that they are.
Nobody asked that question ofany other.
(39:34):
No, that's a fact.
So often we, we've seen the layout.
I mean, Lovecraft country getsmentioned on this ep, on this show
more than anything, you know, and we see it there.
We just witnessed sinners.
We see it there.
You know, we've seen south of Midnight.
(39:55):
We've seen in the game formnow seeing black Women Watchmen with
Regina King.
We've seen it there.
So it can be done.
And I think it just takes usto do it, you know, because no one
else will.
Not in the proper fashion anyway.
(40:16):
Right.
And I don't want anybody elsewriting us.
I'm not, I'm not comfortable.
I don't want nobody writingfor the.
Woman King is another womanKing G20, stuff like that.
Yeah.
And you're right, Lady Mandalorian.
I don't, I don't.
Scandal.
Scandal.
And it was good for themistress and I will never forgive
(40:38):
her.
I was like, hold up.
The side piece is the main piece.
It's just weird.
But okay.
But no.
So then like if my.
I wish my sister in law wouldlet me post my niece, but I respect
that.
So there's this photo.
(41:00):
We babysat my, my niece overthe summer and my.
One of my.
Actually, I'm gonna show youwhich book it was.
It was this book.
It was a Lindell.
She, she's two, she can'tread, but she's used to picking up
books and having people readthem to her.
And so she found my bookdownstairs and sat down with it upside
(41:21):
down, but reading, likefaking, like she was reading my book.
And I almost cried.
And I took a photo of it and Ialmost cried because that is why
I am doing this now.
Because she will grow up nevernot seeing herself on a cover.
She will grow up always seeingherself on a cover.
She.
It will not be somethingthat's happening in her lifetime.
(41:43):
She will not have to pickbetween two or three authors that
people will talk about that, that were blessed enough to get traditionally
published before selfpublishing became a thing.
She will not have to like, hey, I'm looking for this one particular
type of story written by thisone author, but I can't remember
their name.
She would have her pick ofbooks with main characters that look
(42:04):
like her, that talk like her, that think like her, and that have
shared life experiences whounderstand the, the jokes.
And that is like, I saw thatand I almost cried because like she's
holding my little bookssitting down, fake reading.
And I just love it.
I'm like, you're always gonnasee yourself.
I, I know what you're saying.
(42:25):
I mean, even seeing like inthe Marvels, seeing Tiana, Paris's
character, Monica telling NickFury she can't fly, she can't.
She's been practicing.
She hasn't gotten it yet.
And he yells out, black girl magic.
And I swear every black personin the theater laughed and clapped
because we knew it was, weknew what that meant.
(42:48):
And so seeing, seeing blackleads, and especially female black
leads makes it all the morebetter, you know, because it's magic.
It's, it's.
It does something.
Even as speaking as a blackman, it does something.
Seeing a black woman front andcenter and not be ostracized, not
(43:10):
be sexualized and, andactually be seen as the hero, the,
the one that got it out themud and realizing, yeah, she's got
to do twice as much to proveher point, but doing that twice as
much just makes her that muchmore of a badass.
You know, I, I mentioned thewoman King.
(43:31):
Love that film.
Mad that it didn't get therecognition it did.
And it's based off of a truetribe of women, you know, and.
And his.
In the stuff in history andpeople just.
They can't handle it.
Which I'm glad they can'thandle it because we can.
You know, so seeing thosetypes of.
Of projects come out and thenyou know, when, like scenes out of
(43:53):
place.
When you're describing scenesout of place.
I'm envisioning a series likea live action or an animated series
like love death robots or.
Or Star wars visions orsomething like that or.
Or even Tales from the Darkside that type of like an anthology
series of different storiesthat people are going to say I need
(44:19):
an episode.
I need another episode of thisparticular thing.
Or I need another episode of that.
Because that.
It couldn't be it.
That couldn't be the end ofthe story.
I need some more.
You know, that's.
That is what we're looking for.
I think we are in an ageespecially with all of us being involved
with Blurred Station.
We are at a stage now wherethey can't ignore us anymore.
(44:44):
We are here.
And whether you.
You, you try to say xyz, wedon't care.
We're gonna put it out anyway.
I'm sorry.
Oh, we are also.
Yes.
So our grit.
Speaking of which.
Our GR or horror.
You got a question?
(45:06):
Hello everybody.
My apologies.
I was trying to make sure Iget to until dawn.
Until tomorrow it actuallycomes out.
I'm gonna review it.
So that's the reason why I wait.
No, I mean there was a coupleof things that I was listening to
that was kind of my question.
So I was to say this.
What's next?
What is your next volume ofstories from your head?
(45:28):
So fun question because somany things.
First on the docket is I'mfinishing up my sci fi series which
is called Elendil.
It's about Abriana.
She finds herself on an alienplanet in the middle of an intergalactic
war.
All because a mother who shethought abandoned her is really a
general in the alien army.
So now she has to help save aplanet she never called home.
(45:49):
Say less.
Dam.
I have two books out currentlyin this one and so I'm working on
the third.
I.
I'm about.
You had that.
I'm sorry.
Oh yes.
I have about half of it done.
The first draft of it done.
And I'm almost done with thesecond one.
(46:11):
I'm also working on the thirdbook for Amateur's Magic and then
that will be the last one inthat series as well.
And Then I have two new booksthat I'm sort of working on.
One is called Capital Sorcery.
It is.
It is the alternate version ofAmatree's magic.
It was the other way.
I had two major plots forAmatree's magic and I couldn't figure
(46:33):
out which one I wanted to do.
And so this one has like thisalmost similar.
Like it had the same beginning.
Like the first two chapterswere very similar.
And then it completely goes ina whole different direction.
And then I had Amatree's Magicoutlined and I went with amateur's
magic first.
The Capital Sorcery is more ofa darker magical story that's based
(46:55):
in D.C.
and it will have more romance,it would have more.
More magical beings and it'llbe more.
Higher rate.
Before.
Before I pass this.
Before I pass that.
Before.
Well, go ahead, Go ahead.
And then I have a cozy mysteryseries that I.
(47:16):
I love Wine that's going to bebased in a vineyard and so of a black
woman owning her own vineyard.
And then because I love cozymysteries and.
And if I'm wrong, pleasecorrect me in the comments and shoot
them to me because I've beenlooking for them.
I need more black lead cozy mysteries.
I sometimes I just want like anice little fun read of a random
(47:40):
woman somehow getting throwninto being a detective.
So like the residents sendthem to me.
I love some cozy mysteries.
So if you know any blackfemale led cozy mysteries, let a
girl know.
But I am writing one now too.
Andrea, you are a woman aftermy own heart.
Yeah.
(48:00):
Because not only will I readthese series, I want to see them
on a score green somewhere.
I will be hopefully workingwith Jocelyn who did my wonderful,
amazing art shout out to Jasmine.
Jocelyn.
Doesn't she look like me?
Yeah, I was gonna say she.
She looks like you.
(48:21):
Purple hair and all.
It's my braids.
And all of the ideas arecoming out of my hair because they're
all.
They all have to come out.
And I would like to work withher and like next year once I get
some of these other.
Once I get Elendo and Amishi'smagic done to turn this into more
of like a.
(48:41):
An art book because she didthe COVID and I love her work and
I just felt like she'll beable to bring this into a visual.
Visual form.
And then I also would like todo art books for all of my books
because I just.
I see, I see it and I want.
I need them to be an art bookbecause I will do a coloring book
(49:04):
at 45 years old.
I didn't think about acoloring book, but that is interesting.
Yes, that would work.
I will have my daughter do acoloring book with me and so she
will be also drawing black characters.
Yes, I'm glad that you said that.
You seen your knees and youtook a picture of a reading.
Reading your book.
Ella Del.
And I think that's cute.
(49:25):
And you're right because MoonGirl and Devil Dinosaur, perfect
example.
Perfect example of a show ofseeing a young black girl being a
hero, smart, the smartestperson in the Marvel universe and
still being a teenager anddealing with teenager things.
(49:45):
And though in, in that, inthat with two seasons, things are
actually addressed but that wehaven't seen anywhere else.
Shows like Craig of the Creekdealing with certain, certain elements
of the show that we wouldrecognize, you know, so it's so necessary
to see these types of stories.
(50:07):
Damn.
Say it again.
Say it again.
Spartan.
Do you have a question for Andrea.
Prosper?
I had to say that because.
Because I was.
I was indisposed at thebeginning of this podcast when they
try to say who was.
Who was the better fandom.
(50:28):
And I was saying let's notruin, let's not ruin the moment.
Let's not ruin the moment.
Let's, let's, let's.
Let's be respectful of all fandoms.
We are respectful of all fandom.
We are.
Except.
Except for Twilight.
So it was just not a healthylove story.
Glittery hell.
It was the most terrible.
(50:49):
Like it's not a healthy love story.
That is not a healthy love.
Do not aspire to have that love.
Young women, if we're reallybeing honest.
Twilight was basically themodern Helen of Troy.
Everybody went to war over awhite girl.
Just not even that.
The love story do never.
(51:09):
You never go catatonic over aperson that does not want you.
And you knew this person iscanonically like less than two years.
Less than two years.
From the first book to the.
I watched a whole tick tockperson break it down.
From the first.
I haven't read them.
I haven't read them.
But I did watch them exceptthe third one because I didn't care.
(51:31):
From the first book to thelast book to end of the last book.
It's only is less than two years.
All of that happens in lessontwo physical years.
She knew this man for sixmonths before he left her and she
went into comatose.
No.
And despite for a man you justmet in high school.
(51:53):
See, she gets it.
Everybody.
See.
Now you see why you went forcreepy old guy.
Now you see why I was pissedabout that franchise.
And I'm like, this is severalyears after they cancel angel and
Buffy.
And I'm like, do youunderstand why this made this franchise?
Pissed me off?
I'm like, you mean to tell mewe just had a whole girl that could.
(52:16):
That had two vampires fallingover her and.
And yes, she still dealt withthat stuff, but she still went out
and kicked ass.
And now here we go, spinningthe block and we got this girl, like
you said, new a vampire forsix months and now can't leave the
room.
I'll say it once and I'll sayit again.
(52:37):
Twilight was the best twohours of sleep I ever got in a movie
theater.
But.
But no, the only.
I don't really have.
I was gonna sit there and sayreally quickly, I don't really have
a question because again, Ijust literally went to your Amazon
and just added all your booksto Kindle.
So I want to actually read itbecause 1.
(52:57):
I know it's probably beenrepeated, but I love to see more
female authors.
I do want to see more storiesbeing told from that perspective.
I do want to see more.
Not your traditional.
I'm not going to say his namebecause I'm not trying to ruin our
chances of actually coming upin the world because we might actually
run into him, but less of hisstories of the guy in the dress that
(53:20):
I can't say his name.
I was told not to say that offline.
I would sit there.
I.
I really.
I was trying to think of a question.
I was really trying to thinkof a question outside.
Oh, well, I can go the Trekkieroute because you and I both share
a love for fandoms.
I gotta ask.
This is gonna be just random.
(53:41):
Favorite series.
So.
Oh, go ahead.
Two things.
One, Bama de Blurb.
Fifty Shades of Gray is a fanfiction of Twilight.
So that's why it's basicallyTwilight without vampires.
She stole that person'scharacters and it made fan fiction.
(54:03):
Second thing.
So I started watching.
That's why I like Trekkie StarTreks with my dad when I was a kid.
And so until I was like 13, Idid not know there were multiple
shows.
I thought they were all oneshow because I would go in his office
and they were already beyond.
So I never saw the opening credits.
And he would be working andI'll just lay on his floor in his
(54:24):
office and just like, oh, wehave Picard today.
Cool.
And then it was the one thatwas like, oh, Whoopi's on today.
Cool.
And I never.
Because I never looked it Up.
And I'm also.
I'm.
I am.
I am old enough to remember atime before Internet was a major
thing.
So I didn't look it up becauseI didn't.
(54:47):
We.
My dad had the Internet forhit the dial up cord in his office.
Get off the phone.
I need the line.
But it's grandma.
I don't care.
We're in the middle of season.
Whatever.
I did not have.
I did not have like Internetlike that to just look it up.
(55:09):
So.
And it wasn't until I wasolder that I knew was more than one
show.
So I didn't know that.
So I'm gonna go off the newshows because for the old shows,
I never watched them all theway through because I didn't.
Oh, today we're.
We're in that one Deep.
We're in Deep Space Nine today.
Oh, that's void.
Didn't know there weredifferent shows.
So of the new ones that havecome out, my all time favorite that's.
(55:34):
That is strictly Star Trek andnot hijinks is Strange New Worlds.
I absolutely love Strange New Worlds.
It is beautiful.
It is the one that reminds memost of the shows I watch with my
dad.
It reminds me most ofEnterprise and Next, Next Generation
and Voyager and Deep Space Nine.
Strange New Worlds gives methose feels.
(55:56):
And I remember watching it.
Nice.
I will say the musical episodeand seeing Klingon sing, I was just
like, this is different.
But I was here for it.
I'm like, oh, this is reallyfunny now.
Yeah.
Yeah.
(56:16):
Wow.
It's the most hilarious moment.
Let's get your ears ready for it.
Is you're not going to.
Because the songs they'redoing, they're kind of catchy.
And then all of a sudden theKlingons just turn into this whole
boy band.
And they.
Every once it's done, theylook at each other like, we take
this to our graves.
Right.
(56:36):
This will never be mentionedin front of Kaylis.
Trust me.
You don't want to say that.
It's.
It's once.
It's.
It's going to be tattooed toyour brain.
You'll never forget it.
I don't know.
I definitely want to see it at.
This point, but it's awesome.
But my other, my actualfavorite that I watch over and over
and over again is Lower Decks.
Oh, yeah.
(56:59):
How did I know she was gonnasay that?
I love everything about thatshow except that little robot that
everyone else gives like asecond chance to.
Peanut hamper can go kick rocks.
Yeah.
So if you had to pick, if youhad to pick three captains to follow
(57:23):
into battle, who would it be?
Picard.
Fair.
Fair.
Very.
More than fair.
Solid.
Very solid.
She's.
She's doing good so far.
Let's get them.
Let's get number two.
There's a debate going on in her.
Careful.
(57:45):
God.
Did I just forget their name?
Did I just forget someone's name?
I did just forget someone's name.
Which series is.
We can help out.
Discovery.
It's not Discovery.
They just took, like, So I.
Michael Burnham, maybe.
I do.
I do.
I respect Janeway, and so I would.
(58:07):
I.
But it's like, I don't know.
I'm trying to debate, like, what I follow, what I thought.
Like, would you follow someonethat got you lost in the first place?
It depends on what shirt colorI am.
Wakes up as a red shirt.
She's like, you know what?
(58:29):
Yeah.
It also depends if I'm aseries regular or if I'm that person
who comes in like, oh, hey, congratulations, she got this award.
You're gonna come with us onthis away mission?
No, because I'm gonna die.
I'll throw the question this way.
Would you rather be on DS9 orwould you rather.
(58:49):
Would you rather be on DS9 orwould you Rather be on the Enterprise?
DS9?
Because I have the option ofmaybe sometimes traveling you have
the option of.
Maybe sometimes traveling anyposition that you want.
Which area would you love tobe on?
Because I.
I liked.
(59:10):
I like the feel of that showthe most.
When I was watching, I didenjoy it the most.
Picard made me feel safe.
But I would have to go onmissions with him, and I don't want
to do that all the time.
Like, look, I joined Starfleet to.
For science.
I didn't.
I'm not military.
Picard tries to pull the bestout of.
(59:31):
He's like, I know.
Away team survival rate is notexactly high.
Always, always when it's that random.
Now, if it's a series.
If I'm a series regular, I'min there like swimwear.
Let's do this episode.
They commandeer someone.
They're like, oh, we.
He's here just for a little bit.
(59:53):
We're gonna show him around.
Come on this away mission, nothing's gonna happen to you.
Boom, you're dead.
Like, I can call at thebeginning of the episode, oh, those
two people got.
They got commented.
And then the Gorn came and yougot eaten.
Oh, no.
The Space Mal mentions thethree that I.
(01:00:13):
I wouldn't mind.
New pike or old pike.
That chaotic.
World Pike.
And again, there is regularnot getting accommodate.
Common, like, accommodationfrom him.
Like, that's that.
See me every day.
Let me work in the bar.
(01:00:33):
Like, what are we doing?
Yeah.
At least with Cisco, you'rejust like, literally, don't piss
the captain off.
I'm telling you.
Don't.
Just do what he tells you to do.
And don't second question it.
Because he said we going to ward.
I'm like, all right, well, here we go.
(01:00:53):
I would like to be on lowerdecks, though.
I would like to be on theCerritos because I feel like they
have fun on the Cerritos.
Oh, they do.
They have so much fun.
Especially with the Riker.
The Riker pose.
Riker post made famous.
I would love.
They're going backwards chair.
Let me just, like, have alittle vacation on the Cerritos for
just, like.
A little bit Obi, you know, I finally.
(01:01:18):
I finally caught him whilerunning wild.
Obi in his habitat.
Spartan's been watching SteveIrwin in his off time, man.
And now he gonna go.
So we're gonna take a quick break.
We're gonna come back.
We're gonna come back with ourguest, Andrea Rose Washington.

I knew it.
I love me some South Park.
I know exactly what episode.
Hilarious.
Shout out to Casey for writingthat one.
I did the voice work, obviously.
Shout out to crazy agentThrizzy for that new song that just
dropped.
Seal their graves that sendyou genuine rap.
So check that out on Spotify.
(01:07:52):
I want to say it's on Spotify.
You can check it out on theYouTube channel.
Many more places.
I've had that song on loop ever.
Since he said, hey, it's out.
Okay, let's go.
Because I'm already a fan ofthat anime anyway.
Yo, just something a Crazy A'snew single will literally help you
(01:08:15):
do PR reps.
I should know because my chestis on fire from doing 200 footage
up.
My chest is on fire.
All right, so we are with ourguest, Andrea Rose Washington author,
Trekkie podcaster.
All around Blurred girl,Magical Blur Girl.
So outside of, out of.
(01:08:37):
Outside of.
Oh, Shadow, Shadow Jutsu.
Spartan got Shadow Jitsu again.
Here we go again.
How did you see it before we did?
What you.
I heard it.
You heard it?
You heard it before you saw it?
Yeah, it's a gift.
I can't help it.
(01:08:59):
Make a fun of until dawn jokes.
Outside of Star Trek, whatother sci Fi stuff are you into,
Andrea?
So I'm glad you asked becauseon Sci Fi Channel right now that
I just need everyone to watchbecause I needed to go more than
I think it's on.
I think it's about to start.
His third season, it's calledthe Ark.
It is basically, you know,Earth is dying because, you know,
(01:09:22):
we killed it.
And these people are on like.
There's a group of people, they're in space and they are trying
to, like, they thought they'regoing to one planet to, like, reconnect
with all the other arcs to survive.
And they've been asleep, butof course there's an attack and they
don't know.
They have like, maybe debrishit and they're just trying to scramble
because all the people incharge are killed.
(01:09:44):
It's not only like the secondin commands are there.
It's like hijinks and space.
And I love it.
And it's like very smartpeople, but they're doing dumb crap.
And I.
I love it.
I love people sometimes.
I normally hate when smartpeople make dumb decisions, but this
was like, you take all theproblems of Earth into a spaceship
where it's like, hey, hold up.
I wasn't supposed to be incharge again.
(01:10:05):
We had leadership.
Leadership's dead.
It's like, well, now we're incharge and they're just trying to
survive.
And I love it.
And there's two seasons so farand I, yes.
I, I generally like Sci FiChannel because they, they do get
some good gems, but sometimes, sometimes they pull the rug out.
(01:10:29):
They, they pull the rug outof, out of a lot of shows.
Eureka was one of them.
Eureka, Defiance Warehouse.
I love Warehouse 13.
Warehouse 13.
Those are some things, whichis why.
I'm telling you guys.
So you can go.
It's on.
If you have Peacock, you canwatch it on Peacock right now.
(01:10:49):
First two seasons are out.
Amazing.
Hilarious, actually.
I, I don't think they'retrying to be funny.
I just think I found some ofthe stuff funny.
But it's so good.
It's called the art.
I've also, I had a whole listin my head until you asked me.
Oh my gosh.
(01:11:11):
I'm trying to re watch Expanse.
Like I started it a while agowhen it first came out before I got
canceled and moved to a whole new.
Like I started all the wayback then and then like I fell behind.
So now I'm going to likerestart it.
I, I think right now those aremy two main Sci Fi ones besides Star
(01:11:35):
Trek.
I did try and watchfoundations on Apple TV and while
I did give it a 10 out of 10in my review because like it literally
was a great show, it justdidn't do it for me.
Like the storyline, theexecution of it, the, the plot, beautiful.
(01:11:55):
But I was like, I just don'tcare about any of these characters.
Also on Apple tv for all mankind.
Love that show.
You've not watched it.
It's like a different take of,of American history.
If they did go to the moon, ifthey kept going back to the moon,
if America wasn't first andhow the space race never ended.
(01:12:18):
That's one that, that was oneof my favorite ones.
And I watched it religiouslyand up until this, the final, this
past season that just happened.
I don't consider this.
You kind of went out for a second.
(01:12:42):
It went muffled for a hot second.
What was that again?
Oh, hilarious.
I know it's not technicallysci fi and it's closer to fantasy
because then the gaming, butbecause it's computers, I'm gonna
throw it sci fi.
I mean they are right.
It is a video game.
So there's science involvedand there's fiction because they're
(01:13:05):
writing a story about fantasy fiction.
It works.
It fits.
It was mentioned in the, itwas mentioned in the chat, but the
orville is.
Is a fan.
I people, I.
I gave that.
I gave that a chance and Isaid, it's by South McFarlane.
(01:13:25):
So I like Family Guy, youknow, And I'm watched that first
season is like a lot ofhijinks, but then it really.
When it starts gettingserious, it gets good.
It's real heavy.
Yeah.
And I'm like this.
I didn't know it was gonna bethis good.
Like, surprisingly, that'swhen the pay level comes in.
(01:13:47):
You show somebody that's neverseen it and they're like, I can't
whip this cliffhanger.
What are you gonna do with it?
You just want to sit there andgo, yeah, they got the green light
for another season.
It's just.
Exactly.
Yeah.
We're just waiting.
Why we're not.
I'm not gonna lie.
I'm.
I'm old school with it.
I am a huge fan of space 1999 there.
(01:14:08):
That's another one.
That was a phenomenal series.
I don't think got enough cloutbehind it.
So I'm a huge fan of Doctor who.
Yes, definitely.
We are Whovians in this space.
Let's go.
I still need a partners for my birthday.
I like the 100.
Yeah.
And then there's another one.
(01:14:28):
I was trying to Google thename of it really quick, but I can't
remember the name of it.
But it was also a sci fi show.
I see we're going in the Dark.
Matter, I want to say, becauseit was the one where, like, those
people woke up on the ship andthey weren't.
They all had amnesia and they didn't.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Was it.
No, no, no, no.
(01:14:48):
It wasn't Far escape the girl.
If anyone watches the Rookie, the girl who plays Lucy on the Rookie,
she.
Ended up being like the captain.
She ended up being like.
Yeah, like, they were like allsort of like thieves because they
had an AM because they had amnesia.
They were sort of the goodguys, but still doing things in a
bad way.
And I can't think of the show.
But it takes place.
Dark Matter.
(01:15:09):
I want to say it was DarkMatter, but I don't.
For some reason that doesn'tfeel right to me.
I could be wrong.
I just searched the wholesynopsis and Dark Matter was the
first result.
It's gotta be.
It sounds like Dark Matter, but it also sounds like.
Were they bounty hunters?
Yeah, yeah.
They're like bounty hunterslash six.
Six people wake up on adeserted spaceship with no memory
(01:15:31):
of who they are or whatthey're doing there.
Yes.
Dark Matter.
I feel like it was calledsomething else.
Yeah.
And just when it was gettinggood, Just when they were getting
good, like, really good.
It is called Matter.
Yes.
Yeah.
Just when it was starting toget really good, they canceled it.
They did.
And I was really sad because Iwas in it.
I.
I didn't even know it wascanceled by the.
(01:15:52):
By the time I started watchingit, it was already canceled.
And I didn't know that.
And so I'm watching like, oh,when's the next season?
Yeah, well, they pulled the NBC.
They got scared after oneseason and got rid of it.
I'm like.
And I'm like.
I said, Sci Fi.
You supposed to be the stationthat keeps these types of shows going.
And I.
(01:16:13):
It's.
It's really good.
So I love those type of SciFi's where it's.
You're all in space trying tofigure out.
Trying to save the day, tryingto figure out what's going on, get
to the next place, whatever.
I just love it.
That's up there with Stargateand Stargate Universe.
I did like Stargate.
I watched that a lot duringthe pandemic.
It took me.
It took me a minute to getaround to it, but once I did, I'm
(01:16:35):
like, okay, all right.
This is.
It's a.
It was a hard transition forme from.
From the film to thetelevision show because plus it was
such a large gap.
Yeah.
When they decided they weregonna start doing it.
That in Atlantis when you hadJason Momoa and nobody knew who he
was.
We knew he was.
We knew he was Lobo onAtlantis before.
Before he got to dc.
(01:16:57):
Oh, man.
What was it?
Yeah, yeah, he was a Stargate Atlantis.
He was getting around.
He was on Baywatch andStargate Atlantis and.
Yeah, he was getting.
He was getting around.
You know, when Bay Watch wassomehow still a thing.
Yeah, I remember that show I watched.
(01:17:19):
So we have a couple trailerswe weren't checking out.
One of them is our favoritemacabre girl going back to Nevermore.
That would be our very, very, very own Wednesday Adams.
We're gonna check that outright now.
Raindrops on roses andwhiskers on kittens Bright copper
(01:17:45):
kettles and normal in mid.
Anything else on your person?
Brown paper packages tied up.
Damn.
How are you done to playing with.
You?
(01:18:05):
Care to explain this?
Sun cream?
Seriously?
This is the first time you'veever willingly returned to a school.
(01:18:26):
How does it feel likereturning to.
The scene of the crime?
Howdy, Ruby.
I already know where thebodies are buried.
(01:18:47):
Let's play Dolls.
I mean, it is a little creepy, but the curls are super soft.
It's made from real human hair.
So sad.
Wherever there's murder andmayhem, you will always find an Addams.
(01:19:11):
Every family has dark secrets,Wednesday, and secrets can have deadly
consequences.
You don't need to worry aboutme, mother.
I do my best work in the dark.
(01:19:38):
I hate that they split it upin two parts.
Just give us the wholefreaking thing.
Okay, I've noticed that.
Glad that they.
At least.
I'm glad that at least thebreak isn't as huge, like, you're
waiting two years for anotherseason or something like that.
You're like, no, at leastyou're getting it within the same
year.
And they're just.
(01:19:59):
But yeah.
Jenna.
Jenna Ortega.
As.
As Wednesday is.
Is a fun watch.
If you haven't seen the firstseason, that's just a fun watch.
And then it's kind of snatchit at the heartstrings in the first
season when something happensto thing and you're just like, oh,
wait, not him.
You know, and just like, okay,he's fine.
(01:20:20):
Because she almost lost it.
So.
Yeah, it's.
No, no, that's.
I know.
Christy.
Christy.
I know exactly who you'retalking about.
No, that's not the same chick.
That girl that's been goingviral at the cons, her name is Lorena
Parker.
Yeah.
And it's a dead ringer.
Yeah.
So as a matter of fact, herstuff's starting to drum up again
(01:20:42):
because she's been out theregetting it in the pull ups.
The pull ups with the leg outand the stone face.
I give her respect for that.
Just.
I mean, she's just.
I think the military guys weresitting there like, yo, she was deadlifting
and everything.
I was like, she's so little.
(01:21:03):
Then.
That's the food.
That's where she fools.
That's the.
No.
What are you guys thinkingabout Wednesday, Season two or the.
What we've seen so far.
I'm intrigued.
I'm.
I'm intrigued.
I think we're getting more ofthe family this time, too.
Yeah.
Secrets.
So.
Yeah, that's what.
(01:21:23):
I just want to see what UncleFester's gonna be because I know
we're not gonna getChristopher Lloyd to come back and
do it.
No, it's.
He was from snl.
I can't remember his nameright now.
He was.
Okay.
Yeah, yeah.
He popped up in the last season.
He popped up last season.
Okay.
Yeah, he did.
(01:21:43):
Like.
Like, I think one episode hewas, like, on the run and I'm like,
yeah, typical.
Yeah, right, right, right.
The phone call.
That's what it was.
So it's.
I, I like.
I like Jim Ortega being in.
Like, does she make it throughTSA with all the illegal ass weapons
and sunscreen?
Or.
Look, dude just asked herabout the sunscreen.
(01:22:07):
That was a whole new groundsketch right there.
TSA is a little bit lax.
Whose fault is that?
I feel like with the last one,we sort of knew what the mystery
was maybe going to be aboutfrom the trailers.
This one, I have no idea.
Which is.
I, I.
Which is.
(01:22:27):
Could either be a good thingor a bad thing, because I don't know
who.
Like, what's that?
What's gonna happen?
What.
What is the plot line of thisstory so I can, like, get my brain
straight?
But, yeah, I don't know.
It's her.
It seems like at the end oflast season, she hated that school.
(01:22:48):
Yeah.
But by the time everythingunfolded and now you're going into
the new season, she was like,oh, there's more going on here.
And I like it.
You know, especially thatfirst season when.
When Pugsley is gettingbullied and she decides to dump piranha
into the pool.
And I'm just like, I don't.
(01:23:09):
I don't see nothing wrong withthe logic right now.
You place.
You place them again.
Who wins stupid prizes?
I mean, they won a prize.
I'm sure this was not herfirst time around the parking.
Like, y'all should have knownwhat she was about.
I'm trying to figure out whereshe get the piranhas personally this
Wednesday.
Come on, now.
(01:23:29):
We listen and we don't judge.
He did her job as the oldersister to protect the younger brother
from other people except herself.
Because she can do whatevershe wants to do.
But you can't.
You can't touch my sibling.
And because you touched mysibling, you will never touch anyone
else's.
That's right.
And as a young sibling, Irespect that.
(01:23:50):
And I love an Otis.
I literally looked at my wife.
I'm like, I don't see anythingwrong with that.
They said he lost a toe.
Then he's learned a veryimportant lesson.
There it is.
Every time.
He'll remember.
Oh, man.
So, yeah, that's.
That was.
I'm.
(01:24:10):
I'm looking forward to that one.
Jenna Ortega.
And just, like, a bunch ofdifferent projects, and people don't
remember that she was thedaughter of one of the senators in
Iron Man 3.
They don't remember that.
Like, no.
Like, she was.
She was little.
She was in the wheelchair.
You know, it was the wholeextremist armor situation and.
(01:24:32):
Right.
Yeah.
She was missing a limb.
Yeah, go ahead.
No, Lainey, turn it.
Turn it.
Like, turn the mic itself alittle bit towards you.
Oh, like the baby.
We are in a hole.
Does it sound better?
Because I took out the.
Yeah, now it sounds.
You sound better.
That's because I took out the plug.
So I have no idea what wasgoing on with the.
(01:24:53):
With the mic, but whatever.
Okay.
Sorry.
Okay.
So I appreciate it.
So another project that kindof fell in the lap that I did not
expect is seeing John Cena andIdris Elba on screen together again.
(01:25:14):
Idris just said, I want allthe unserious roles you can send
me.
So if people are trying tofigure this out.
Idris Elba is the PrimeMinister of England and John Cena
is the ex action star who'snow the President of the United States.
Which I'll take that over whatwe currently have.
(01:25:37):
So we're gonna check that outright now.
It's called heads of state.
Mr.
Prime Minister.
Mr.
President.
It's her debut duet.
Duet?
Yeah.
It's like Dr.
Dre and you're Eminem, andwe're taking that stage for the first
time together.
Oh, no.
I'm Eminem.
(01:25:59):
What is it with you walkingaround thinking you're better than
anybody else?
What's the difference betweenme and you?
You are the commander inchief, you know, some DJ in Vegas.
What's the difference between us?
All right, I get it.
You don't like my movies.
I've never seen your movies.
But the universe keeps tellingme I look cool with a gun in my hand.
Was it difference between atoy gun?
(01:26:22):
What's that?
That can't be good.
We just survived the worstsecurity breach in history.
(01:26:45):
The cavalry's coming.
So keep calm and carry on.
Hey, fellas.
How's it going?
Y.
We're about to get our asses kicked.
Man.
Read the room.
A lot of people want you de.
(01:27:07):
My mission is to deliver youto the most secure location on this
continent.
Hey.
Where's your backup?
There is no backup.
What's the playbook on this?
There is no damn playbook.
Do it.
Let's make one.
(01:27:27):
Yeah.
The movies.
Now, son.
Yeah.
Come on.
Who's the action hero now?
(01:28:00):
How are you alive?
I just kept coming.
Carried on.
Not gonna lie.
This.
That looks like a lot of fun.
Yeah.
If you've seen these two onthe suicide squad and then watching
(01:28:22):
them.
Now this.
This looks like a lot of fun.
I thought Andrew was gonnafall out.
Of her Chair trying.
You can't see me.
I was like, the momentum wasgonna have her fall out the chair.
I have.
I am locked into this thing.
Oh, my goodness.
Actors, like, are made a namefor themselves so much.
Now they can just start having fun.
And this just looks like it'sgonna be so much fun.
(01:28:45):
And I love that they're nottaking it too seriously.
No.
I thought they were gonnaswitch it at first.
It would have been hilarious.
John Cena was a prime ministerand Idris was the.
I don't know if I can do it.
John Cena doing two hours.
I don't know.
John Cena accent, though.
(01:29:06):
That.
That might be different.
I.
I would.
I would do it.
I would definitely want tohear it.
Maintaining that would be hardas hell.
That's for sure.
I'm telling you.
Jack Quaid said the boys mightbe ending.
My career is just beginning.
Right?
Yeah, man.
He's getting a check after check.
I'm gonna still get money regardless.
(01:29:28):
See, he was.
He was talking to Carl Urban.
That's why he was just like, whatever you do, do something else,
and then do something elseafter that.
That's it.
On top of being a Nepo baby,we appreciate.
We appreciate you staying outof trouble, kid.
Right, right.
Appreciate a Nepo baby.
Who knows they're a nipplebaby and then.
(01:29:49):
But, like, has the talent tonot be one.
Yeah, that's that part.
Yes, he is.
But he's good enough to not be one.
It's like, okay.
Eventually we'll know.
Okay, you're good.
Yeah.
We appreciate an unproblematicNepo baby.
Yes.
Staying out of trouble andjust baking and just making television
shows that we love.
(01:30:09):
We appreciate it.
Calling out his dad for crazy stuff.
I mean, you came.
You came from.
You came from the guy who say,why can't you be more like your son?
That part.
I'm just saying.
Oh, man.
Lady Mandalore.
(01:30:31):
Hey.
See?
See, she knows what I'm talking.
Check after check after deck.
And in the crossover episode.
Hilarious.
But this movie's gonna be funny.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
This is definitely.
This is an immediate watch.
Is these types of films that, you know, you don't always have to
(01:30:51):
have no shade to sinners, butyou don't always have to have a film
that has a symbolic meeting.
You don't always have to havesomething that's action packed and
serious.
It's good to have an actioncomedy with the right vehicle, with
the right people in front.
And here you are with theright people in front.
Yeah.
(01:31:12):
Go ahead, Andrew.
No I find it hilarious thatthis movie is like the comedy version
of the one that just came outon Prime.
Like G20.
G20.
And the reason I'm calling itthe comedy version is because, like,
she had like a little like, thing with the prime minister where.
Of England, where he was justmuch more of a baby, though.
(01:31:35):
Security breach and like theworld leaders in trouble and all
that, like, you know, tryingto save.
I found.
It's like, oh, wait, this is hilarious.
I like the fact that she said,I'm not gonna wear these heels.
I'm gonna wear these, these.
Because honestly, why, why,why do my feet have to hurt?
(01:31:55):
You see how long this gown is?
They're not gonna be lookingat my feet now, right?
So, yeah, it's, it's, it'sdefinitely this.
This is on my what to watch list.
And, and it's looking good tobegin with.
So shout out to that entire team.
That just.
That's just going to be agood, fun Friday night watch.
Anyway, so we get a lot ofgood stuff for the summer, so.
(01:32:18):
I don't know.
Whoopty.
What did you think?
What?
I'm sorry, why?
You're in a glass case promotion.
Why did I.
Why did you take the joke from me?
I was gonna say.
(01:32:43):
The mic is on, but something'sgetting picked up.
But we can't hear you.
Right?
Hold on, let me see.
We're calling from inside the house.
Whoopi, you in danger, girl?
Georgia storms and came foryou again.
Nope, it's a hang.
Oh, my God.
(01:33:03):
Not a hang.
Not a hang.
I love hand signals too, youknow, like, I get super pumped up.
My sign language is rusty.
Pump it up gets her mic under control.
What you think?
Okay, if I, if I.
(01:33:24):
If I remove the pro wrestlingfan in myself and decide to give
it a chance?
I think it'll be fun.
If you.
Put the right actors togetherfor a comedy.
So someone said, help that baby.
She needs some milk.
If you put the right elementstogether, comedy actions that I just
(01:33:48):
haven't had no interest in.
But it's always the charismabetween the, the actors that make
it fun and make you want tosit down and watch it and make a
mess with popcorn.
Especially when you'rescreaming at the screen.
I feel like I'd be screamingat the screen for this one, so.
Yeah.
But on the other side of it,John Cena.
That's all I gotta say.
All right, try it now, Whoopi.
(01:34:13):
There we go.
We said we can't hear you.
No.
What'd you think of it whoopty.
Oh, it looks like it'll be thekind of movie that, you know, you
could just watch and turn offyour brain, like.
And enjoy like a Scott Pilgrimversus the world.
That's the kind of movie Icould just throw on and watch anytime
(01:34:34):
it's on and enjoy it every time.
Single time, no matter whichperson that is.
It's funny seeing ScottPilgrim is the ex girlfriend show
up at the door.
Is Scott home?
No.
And you see him diving out the window.
That's still hilarious.
And then.
And then reach back in andgrab the jacket just right GR a hor.
(01:34:58):
What did you think?
I.
I'm g.
Say the same thing.
Like, I didn't know that Icould actually enjoy Address and
John Cena together.
That is a interesting pairingthat I would have never guessed to
see together.
But at the same time, like, looking at.
It's like, all right, I cansee this.
I can see this Lady Mandaloresaying Satisman is whoopty.
(01:35:25):
It just feels like somethingyou could turn on and just put your
brain on autopilot and, youknow, blink at the appropriate times
and also then laugh.
When she said the samesentiment as Whoopi, I was like,
what?
The Hanks.
I'm like, just keep comingfrom them.
Tafari.
(01:35:46):
I mean, I'm not the biggestwrestling person, but I've watched
both of these two take lessand less serious roles with serious
roles at the the same time, soI'm down for it.
I think it's.
It'll be a good weekend watch.
This would definitely be yourtypical get out the house summer
blockbuster type of film.
I don't think Idris can take acomedy role and not be serious.
(01:36:10):
That's the comedy.
That's the comedy.
Like, even.
Even in the Suicide Squad, hetook himself serious amongst a bunch
of buffoonery.
We need blood sport.
Yeah, we need bloodsport back.
By the way.
Y'all can't just.
That's not a oneand donecharacter that.
It really isn't.
But depending where Gun wantsto put him, especially after the
(01:36:32):
whole ego contest betweenPeace trying to.
Y'all killed all these peopleand they were on your side.
They were the rebels.
I'mma be completely honest.
I think he's gonna show.
I think he's gonna show upsomewhere in season two.
I hope so.
I.
It's James Gunn.
I hated.
(01:36:55):
I.
I hated that.
I like that show.
I very much held it because Idon't forgive him.
I still don't give him for the movie.
I held a grudge for Rick Flag too.
So when he finally startedcrashing out halfway through the
season, I'm like, okay.
Maybe this is because I was like.
No, he doesn't get aredemption arc.
(01:37:17):
Anybody but.
Anybody but him.
Like you're trying to be.
Oh my God.
Like, are you really?
Yeah.
Because the dad's even is likethree times as worse.
He's like, you're just like, Igotta like the kid now.
When you see where.
You see where he came from.
You understand?
Yeah.
We see why you are the way you are.
Yeah.
You have to be that personbecause you're.
(01:37:38):
You could.
You don't even get along withyour father, so.
Not for lack of trying.
Right?
Yeah.
No.
That he's like, I likeeverything else.
But I will never forgive youfor Rick Flag.
I'm sorry.
Right?
And y'all want to twist theknife in Creature Commandos too.
(01:37:59):
Oh, yeah.
Your son was killed in battle.
You lying.
Half of you like, what?
It's still too soon.
Still too soon.
And then it's.
His dad is in the Superman movie.
So it's like the lie continues.
Three films in.
Yeah.
You're never gonna.
Are you ever going to find out?
So.
Depends on Waller.
(01:38:19):
Yeah.
He's not gonna find out.
Or somebody.
I mean, if Lazarus Pits are around.
Oh, okay.
Don't pump fake us like HarleyQuinn did.
That's all I ask.
Jesus.
In our final trailer that Iwas not expecting.
(01:38:41):
I.
It'll not lessen.
Well, not this soon anyway.
Predator Badlands teasertrailer dropped and you are a Predator
fan.
That was me.
The timing of our cosplay community.
(01:39:01):
Jesus.
Jesus Christ.
Right?
Cosplay.
Eric Moran.
Sir Julius Cosplay.
Like.
Shauna.
And I think I'm forgetting oneother name.
Yeah.
Shout out to them because theyjust did a whole thing.
Psycho Image Films did a nicelittle short about.
Along with.
Along with Hill Swan's kid,who plays a soldier.
(01:39:26):
I.
I was just like, that's funnyto me right now.
BT help Hubert.
So, yeah, I never seen afemale Predator, but they pulled
it off nicely.
And then like the cosplay transition.
Because Home Girl was one ofthe Steve Harvey's from last year.
Yeah.
In that video we shot,Tafari's neck broke.
(01:39:46):
He was like, that ain't well.
Because I saw her like last year.
This.
I'm like, that's quite the transition.
I didn't know you like.
One was very simple.
This one was like, I didn'tknow you was capable of this the
whole time.
So we're going to check outPredator Badlands right now.
I didn't think you survived.
(01:40:46):
You're hunting something.
That can't be killed.
(01:41:11):
That.
Wait, it's coming out in theaters?
I thought it was coming out to Hulu.
No, that's the anthology series.
Yeah, that's what I've been saying.
Hulu's gonna be the.
The.
The show.
And the show is gonna alleyoop to this.
And I wouldn't be surprised ifwe get lore for each episode which
then circles full way in this movie.
(01:41:32):
Because even the breakdownwith that, all I caught was the.
The Android from Alien beingin this movie.
Let's talk of those trophyskulls right now.
Yeah.
We about to say that Kong ishanging on that Kong.
Or a Congo.
Look, I said it in our groupchat before.
I said imagine a world whereyou have.
(01:41:57):
Obviously gonna have the Engineers.
It looks like one of thoseskulls belongs to the Engineers,
which was from Alien Covenant.
Another skull looks like theskull from a T.
Rex, possibly Jurassic Park.
Another skull does look likean ape like skull, which could be
a.
Not Kong, but a Kong type creature.
(01:42:17):
And then another one thatcould possibly be aliens from Independence.
Independence Day.
I don't know yet.
The verdict is still out.
Independence Day or War of the Worlds.
Is the war of the world.
Right?
War of the Worlds will beeasier to do because it starts going
to ID4.
(01:42:40):
I told the group, I saidimagine a world where you got.
You're.
You're human and you're livingin this world.
You're dealing withxenomorphs, engineers, predators.
No, it's.
It's Kaiju, but only you.
But for the majority of it,you treat the same way.
Like most black posture horror movies.
(01:43:00):
Hey, would you go.
Would you like to rate a cargoship in space for no other reason
but maximum profit?
That I don't know about.
Nope.
Credits.
What was that sound?
It was that way.
I'm gonna go this way.
Yeah.
They got Alien Earth comingout too.
And I'm curious to where thatlines up with whatever this movie
is doing.
And that's supposed to be onfx, so that's all.
(01:43:22):
That's a whole another thingof a xenomorph field ship landing
on Earth.
So that'll be on Hulu too then.
Is what I'm hearing as a human.
I'm good.
I'm good.
Would you rather.
No, I'm.
I'm good.
I.
Where's my.
Where's my flamethrower andwhere's my smart gun?
What you say?
(01:43:43):
Go ahead.
Someone who has AVP on, like,I have it and it's always Downloaded
on my phone.
Oh, I just redownload it, butit's always on my phone.
And I can watch it whenever Ifly, whenever.
Just.
Oh, I don't have service.
Let's watch avp.
I'm so excited.
I don't like the aliens.
I don't like the aliens at the Xenomorph.
(01:44:05):
Scare me.
For the predators, they huntfor a reason.
As long as you're not thereason, you're good.
Yeah, exactly.
Yeah, pretty much.
But as long as you're not ontheir radar.
You don't want to be the bestat something because then that's
when.
Like that one movie,Predators, where they were all on
the.
All you gotta do is just notbe the best.
(01:44:27):
And that's fine with mebecause they're not gonna hunt the
best writer.
They don't want.
That is kind of slick, disrespectful.
When that one predator came upon that one guy, he knew he had cancer
or something, and he just satthere and said, you're not worth
it.
There's no.
There's no hunt in a die.
There's no hunt in a dying animal.
I'm also curious, like, is this.
Is this like a teenage onegoing through a trial?
(01:44:49):
Because, like, he's young, nomask, no real armor, the chip tooth.
I thought he was rejected.
Or is he off?
The 2018 Predators where theyfound out that they had, like, human
DNA and so maybe he's just adifferent version of the hunter.
Because why does the hunterhave human DNA and he looks more
humanoid than any of the other ones.
(01:45:10):
Yeah.
So I'm thinking this is like.
Yeah, he also did look like.
He also did look like he wasgoing through his.
Like he was going through ateenage, like, hair phase as well,
along with.
And then somebody was gettingSparta kicked off a cliff at one
point.
So he might be the last of adying tribe.
Wow.
It was a whole.
There was a whole look.
(01:45:31):
Look at it again.
There's a whole Lion Kingsequence of somebody staring down
as somebody is falling orgetting kicked off.
No, you got a good point.
When it says hurt, I'm like,he might be the last.
Kind of like what Demetrius istrying to tell us in the group chat.
There might different tribes, and these might be descendants of
people that the engineerstampered with but couldn't control.
And now it's.
(01:45:51):
Who knows?
But engineers are worse than humans.
They were just tampering with everything.
I'm like, why?
Why I would say this.
I'm just glad for a differentpredator story that's all I asked.
I wanted.
I wanted a different predatorstory because you could always go
up against aliens.
You can always go up against humans.
Why not give the predators some.
An adversary that's literally unbeatable.
(01:46:14):
Even prey was fantastic.
It was in its inception.
Nobody knew this was apredator film like that.
Man.
I wish.
I wish somebody had filmedthat trailer reveal a dream con.
Because like for the first twominutes we had no idea what was coming
on.
They're just like, yeah, wehave to run a promotion because we
(01:46:36):
got bills.
And then when like the clickstarts coming through and the bear,
he is like in the.
It was like, oh, this is apredator film.
We had no idea what we werelooking at.
Like we were locked in.
But like the crowd lost it.
Of course you like a goodpredator film.
I'm.
I'm just saying I love.
(01:46:56):
I love her.
The white.
The white hair.
Like a predator.
Don't come for me.
I'm not fierce.
I will photograph your fierce trust.
Like I sleep with a knife nextto my bed.
But like, not enough to like, you.
Know, you're not Danny Gloverout here.
(01:47:17):
You're just not.
Just like.
I'm not trying to be out therefighting like.
You got it.
Boo.
And that's annihilation.
A predator on that.
A predator was.
They hit her with the thug tatat the end.
It's like you killed the queenand brought the body out.
Good luck of.
That story is hilarious.
(01:47:38):
I know a lot of people don't.
Like that first one, but Ithought it was okay for his time
it.
I was entertained.
I think the game needs to be redone.
I agree.
Yeah.
Looking forward to that.
I'm just with the white hairedpredator is about that.
That.
Is that like a shaman.
Like a whole new.
They have a shot.
It's a shaman version.
(01:47:59):
They do have a shaman predator.
They have a shaman, then theyhave a warrior and then there's a
bunch of them in between.
Like, I don't know how I feel.
About white hair reference here.
Okay.
I don't know how to feel about that.
Clearly.
Clearly.
That's the buzz word to keeppeople getting trouble.
It's wisdom.
No, it's not.
I am old as.
(01:48:20):
Okay.
I have a couple of thosecoming in.
So, you know, I'll go say Navybecause I've already.
I've got just as much if notmore white hair than you do.
That was a low key slander.
Don't play.
I do got more than Navy does.
(01:48:41):
I'm gonna tell you why Navy.
Navy has the majestic Beardthat he can go literally as the guy
that knows everything, or youcan go as Master Roshi.
The man has options is whatI'm pointing out.
I go around.
I get mistaken as an extrafrom Congo.
He goes around.
Oh, my God.
(01:49:02):
He.
He at least seemed like he wasan elder leading the charge on another
tribe or something, because wesee him standing over another dismembered
predator at the time.
So I can't.
Yeah, like, he's crawling away.
Like, he's.
He's beaten and his arm is cut off.
You can see his arm that's cut off.
So, yeah, it's.
I'm gonna have to re.
Watch this.
(01:49:22):
Yeah, it is definitely.
I'm also curious why.
Why it had.
Why one of them even has oneof the Predator, the alien.
What is it?
Androids or whatever, youknow, who is she talking to?
Because that was about that.
I'm like, who is this whitewoman that's about to survive the
whole film for no reason?
Like, oh, she's a robot.
(01:49:42):
Okay, never mind.
That makes me go.
That makes thinking Prometheusall over again, though.
Yeah, that's where my mind went.
When I saw her eyes go white,I was like, isn't that the same as
the black dude in the other film?
Yeah.
Which.
Go back and watch that one.
That's a good one.
Like, if you liked Alien, thevery first one.
(01:50:06):
Energy in that movie.
Yeah, those give.
Yeah, they, they, they, they.
They rounded the block on that one.
I'm like, oh, yeah, this is.
This is the first version.
Energy all day.
Like, I actually had a jumpscare in that.
In that one.
I'm like, yo.
I was like, wait a minute.
Not the jump scare.
Oh, yeah.
(01:50:26):
I don't get jump scares.
And I'm just like, oh, damn.
So, yeah, it def.
It's.
It's a screaming at the screen.
At the screen moment.
Like, why is you.
Why.
Yo, put the gun down.
It ain't nothing left in it.
Stop shooting at them.
They got acid for blood.
Just.
(01:50:46):
I feel safe with the gun.
Don't yell at me.
I feel safe on the other ship.
Never Planet.
Let's.
Let's go.
Let's check out this abandoned ship.
Why do I see Andrea trying toanswer the stress?
I will drop you off and undockimmediately and get from jumping
(01:51:07):
blank away.
You see that?
When you see.
You see that ship ended up onthe other side of the space station.
So all they.
They just had to wait.
They were just waiting.
I'm like, I'll just make sureain't no damage here.
I.
I just can't get out of here.
I can't leave yet.
I'm waiting on y'all, dude.
This is why I say, if you'regonna be a pilot, if you're gonna
be in space.
Pilot skills.
(01:51:28):
You never know when you needto go.
And I'm never leaving the cockpit.
And put my bed.
And put my bed right there.
Yeah.
If I need to go.
Deuces left the cockpit.
This is why.
No, you gotta do.
Yeah, you gotta do, like, Han Solo.
You're like, I'll swing aroundand grab you.
(01:51:48):
But I'm not just gonna besitting here waiting.
No one.
Those things they put.
I don't know if you're infected.
It goes through your mouth.
I don't know if you havesomething inside of you.
That's when you ask questions.
He was like, everybody else isbone dry.
Why are you so wet?
What's wrong with you?
That is a good point, because.
Where's the zombie bite?
(01:52:08):
Oh, I'm not bitten.
But you're sweating like you are.
Everyone back on.
I don't know.
At least in the thing, you hada way to test.
You don't have a way to testan alien.
Whether or not you've been infected.
You see?
Oh, y.
In.
Outside of the shoot.
(01:52:31):
X ray.
There we go.
Look.
If you start.
Look, that girl was sickalmost instantly.
I'm like, what's wrong with her?
What you got?
We got to put her in quarantine.
Why don't we just go ahead andship her out?
Double tap.
Double tap.
Kill them both.
So sorry.
Look, I learned from I Look,from my I look.
(01:52:53):
I.
I took my clues from Malcolm Reynolds.
Please take me with you.
Nope.
This is mercy.
This is mercy.
I won't let the Reavers get you.
But they're not gonna get me neither.
Right?
We gotta tell these ghoststories instead of doing what.
What we supposed to do.
Justin said, why you so.
What?
(01:53:14):
Wet.
Why are you so wet?
Everybody else, dry.
Why you so wet?
You need.
Why your eyes so big?
What's wrong with you?
Double.
Just for safety measures,double tap.
Right?
Right.
We're getting ready to get outof here.
I want to thank our guest,Andrea Rose Washington.
(01:53:37):
Yay, friend.
Thank you.
Tell everybody where they can.
So I am Andrea Rose W.
Or Andrea Rose Washington.
On, like, all the platformslike that on Instagram and Facebook.
And I think, tick tock.
(01:53:57):
I'm Andre Rose Washington.
There's one place.
I'm Andrea Rose W.
I don't remember which one it is.
Too many.
Too many.
Social medias Order a signedcopy of any of my stuff.

yeah, you're.
You're in the party groupright now.
I just, I just, I just, I lovehow the party just pivoted.
Because I was gonna say we earned.
And my mind went to food.
I can't speak for everybodyelse on.
That side of the room.
I was gonna sit there and saywe use NDA, sir.
Outside of that again, I Meanconsiders what you consider food.
(01:59:51):
I'll give.
There you go, Mr.
Chris Fury.
This is how I know.
This is how I know I found mytribe away from the great Reverend
because he does the speeches.
I just collect.
I just lock doors, collectcollection plates.
That being said, basicallydon't doom scroll.
Find your peace, find your strength.
(02:00:12):

(02:01:21):
I am just happy to be a partof this grouping of amazing people.
I get to hang out with LadyMandalor on Sunday nights at 7 o'clock
and we talk comics and nerdstuff and everything because when
you put two Capricornstogether, it just, it, it's all types
of shenanigans, y'all.
If you know about the thiscrew, we've shannan once.
(02:01:42):
We're gonna shenanigans again, okay?
And again and again.
I, I only.
I have one word for everyoneout there.
Do you have a guardian angelthat has been there for you, that
has been lifting you up andkeeping you.
Going, that has motivated youto see another day?
Who has told you that taking another.
Step is not painful?
If you do give them their flowers.
(02:02:04):
Let them know that they are appreciated.
Because people out there areputting in the work, aren't getting
the credit or People who areputting in work just to make it to
the next day, and they need tobe acknowledged and seen.
If you see someone doing that, please let them know that you see
them.
Acknowledge them.
Let them be known theirfeelings are validated.
And if they're not feelingtheir best, it's all right to not
feel your best.
(02:02:25):
Just let them know thatthey're not alone, and everybody
will be okay.
I would play that clip, butthat one, that.
That word.
That.
That's what that was.
That word.
And he wonders why we call him Reference.
I'm gonna let that one sit.
I very much appreciate that.
Like, during Navy's lastsermon, you couldn't see us, but
somebody else joined me andpicked up right where I stopped.
(02:02:47):
I didn't even say that I washumming Wade in the Water, but somebody
caught it and picked up rightwhere I cut off.
Look at.
Somebody's doing it right now.
Yo, y'all threw me off last time.
I was.
Y'all.
Somebody humming.
I said, I gotta.
You were like.
You said, relax.
So I stopped, and somebodyelse picked the tuna.
Right.
I'm not gonna lie.
I was.
(02:03:08):
I was being as petty as Icould because I'm like, oh, yeah,
you ain't get to do this.
With all church organ music.
I hate and love every Last one.
Safari TV talk.
The people.
So got back from the 70millimeter showing centers, people
(02:03:31):
actually flew in for that.
Apparently.
Apparently there's only, like, eight of those theaters in the country.
So it is.
It's what I think they said.
Five stories high, sevenacross, not an inch of screen goes
unused.
Correct.
So it is.
Oh, my God.
Welcome to Texas.
They got one here in Atlanta.
This ain't Texas.
Let me know.
We have one.
But.
(02:03:51):
We have one.
But it's at the Science centerand they're not showing it yet.
And the way they're now, they're sold out of Wicked.
Barbie is showing in Dark Knight.
So I know they'll probablyshow it during the summer.
Y'all get an extra film or letme know.
Apparently, the group beforeme got the last of them, so that's
it.
Yeah, I will definitely make a.
A trip for that down to theScience center because you don't
(02:04:13):
have another one.
You get the film thingy at the 71.
No, that's.
That's what I'm saying.
The group before me got thelast of them.
So the fact that there's onlyeight theaters that are doing that
promotion, but you only madeenough of the thing to last, like,
half a day, that's the end.
That is talk to your promotionteams or.
Or.
Or.
Or.
(02:04:33):
Or the team held some back.
Oh, most definitely.
I used to work in movie theaters.
This is.
Okay.
All right.
This is the thing.
This is the thing.
That.
And walking the aisles.
What fell between the seats.
But please go support centersif you haven't seen or you want.
You want to see it and talkabout it with us.
I'm running back the entirehour and a half.
Like, hour and 40 minutes wedid on Tuesday.

I don't know what I'm doing tomorrow.
(02:05:16):
Thank you to Dallas Outlaw forthe medium.
She decided to write anarticle of my story so far that got
published, which I appreciate.

In other words, he's saying hewas born in the darkness.
Basically.

I have been here since inception.
Look, in the background ofmost big moments, I'm somewhere in
the crowd.
