Welcome back to the chaos and charm of our lives! After disappearing from the podcast scene since April, we're finally breaking our silence to share the whirlwind that's kept us away from the mic. Between back-to-back DJ gigs, unexpected Vegas adventures, and health struggles, there's been precious little time for recording.

Our journey took an exciting turn at El Cortez casino, where we discovered a gambling experience vastly different from the Strip's glitzy establishments. While we emphasize that gambling should never be approached as a money-making venture ("You're going to lose every time"), the complimentary perks, friendly staff, and authentic atmosphere made for unforgettable memories. We even rubbed elbows with Vegas royalty, meeting both the casino's GM Adam and prominent slot YouTuber Vegas Matt.

Back home, our Havana nights continue thriving after more than a year, our photo booth business remains a hit at events, and family milestones have kept us grounded amid the chaos. From celebrating birthdays to supporting family through health challenges in Columbus, we've balanced professional commitments with personal priorities—though not without Gordon pushing himself to honor work commitments despite significant health issues.

The most exciting news? We're reviving Marion's sandwich company! Soon you'll find us at the local farmer's market serving up gourmet sandwiches from different cultural backgrounds—Cubanos, brisket specialties, panes con pollo, and more—all homemade with love and craftsmanship. As with everything we do, expect quality, authenticity, and a touch of our unique personality.

Ready to catch up on all our adventures and get a taste of what's coming next? Press play and dive back into our beautifully chaotic world—we've missed sharing it with you!

Speaker 1 (00:01):
What's up y'all?
We are back.
We've been on a little bit of alittle bit of a break or a
hiatus.
You know, we just went andlooked and realized that we
hadn't recorded Blue SlideSerenade, our personal podcast
for the two of us, since aboutApril of this year.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
Yeah, we've just been so busy.

Speaker 1 (00:21):
Life has been crazy.
Absolutely Really crazy, not ina bad Life has been crazy,
absolutely, really crazy.
Not in a bad way per se, no,just one thing after another.
And yeah, there has been bad, there's been challenges, there's
been stuff like that, but it'sjust one thing after another.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
It's one thing after another, it's one thing after
another.
So we're going to kind ofrewind and do a recap and go
back through our calendars, ourInstagram feeds, our photo

(01:01):
albums in our phones and we'regoing to kind of just try to
recap and catch everybody up onwhat's going on in our lives.
Gordie B and Marion.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
B over there, let's go.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
I guess going all the way back to April, we had one
weekend that was so busy, yes,so busy.
I think we had a Havana nighton a Friday night.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
We did.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
Yes, so busy.
I think we had a Havana nighton a Friday night.
We did Well.
We had a wedding on Saturdayhere in town, at Limcado, I
believe.
Yes, I believe it was Limcadovenue.
Successful.
You know all of the events were.
You know they've beensuccessful.
I'm a bit hard on myself, youknow.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
You are.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
I wouldn't say so much a perfectionist, but
constantly seeking growth andimprovement and growth.
I'm just going to say growth,I'm going to leave it at growth,
just constantly seeking growthin my mixing, in my DJ set, in
my song selection, in my crowdreading, in everything.
I'm pretty tough on myself.

(02:04):
Yeah reading and in everythingI'm, I'm pretty tough on myself.
Yeah, um to the point where, even when people do give
compliments, I don't really takethem like I don't.
I don't know how to take thembecause I'm I'm upset about a
transition I had, or a song thatjust bombed and you know
whatever else, or a hiccup, orwhatever it may be.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
You're too hard on yourself.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
Not okay.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
That's something I have to work on and grow.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
Because you're amazing.

Speaker 1 (02:33):
You know I'm decent, I can get the job done.
I can get it done pretty well.
I'm not the greatest DJ, I'mnot the most artistic or you
know anything in my sets andthings like that, but I enjoy it
.
I enjoy people having fun.
Anyways, yeah, we had a busy, busy weekend.

(02:53):
Vanna was on a Friday night.
We had a wedding at Lemkado ona Saturday.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
And then Sunday was Paso Robles.

Speaker 1 (03:01):
Sunday was Paso Robles and that was another
wedding.
To come back home that same dayfrom Paso, you know, and that's
not too bad, it was only aboutan hour and a half hour and 45
or something, you know, andthere's, you know, I guess I'm
getting to the point in agewhere I'm like I'd rather just
be home.
If we're in three hours, ifwe're within three hours of the

(03:24):
house, I think I would preferjust to come home.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
Unless it's something grand or extravagant, where
we're, say, a hotel on the beachwe got a beachfront hotel or
something like that and we'regoing to stay there for a day or
two and hang out, you know, whatever it may be or we're
going to be in Vegas or whateverit was.
And, speaking of Vegas, the dayafter those three events we got

(03:52):
a little bit of rest.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
A day, 24 hours.
That's what I said.
A little bit, a little bit ofrest.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
And we bailed out.
We took off to Vegas.
Yeah, we took off to vegas.
Yeah, we took off to vegas forabout a week.
Yeah, and um, yeah, a few dayswent to the big name, you know,
mgm park yes the big name andthe little name right, not the
main mgm, but the park mgm yeah, signature park mgm yeah, we, we

(04:21):
enjoy the park, mgm, uh, theatmosphere, you know kind of the
cleanliness.
It's non-smoking which look,yeah, I smoke, you know weed
here and there here and there, but cigarettes I'm not.
I'm not a fan of no um and Ireally don't enjoy breathing
that new york, new yorkcigarette air in, or you know

(04:44):
some of these other places thathave smoking.
But that's, you know, thatcomes with Vegas.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
You know we were watching a documentary or I
don't know if it's a documentaryor considered a documentary,
but somebody was visiting theplaza and they were walking
around with the GM or the guyfrom the plaza and, and smoking
and gambling goes hand in handapparently yeah it's.
It's just they're synonymous umand uh.

(05:13):
That's why, uh, plaza, they havea non-smoking section and the
rest of the casino which issmoking yeah um, they're trying
to hit both crowds yeah right, the smoking crowd and the
non-smoking crowd and um, juststatistically, I guess you know
most people that gamble alsosmoke.

(05:34):
So if you take away smoking, you're also going to take away
business from your gambling andstuff like that yeah, so it's
fine.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
Park mgm is is good if you're going to take your
family.
You know they have a great poolyeah, a couple pools and
non-smoking yeah, yeah, a couplepools and I think Bruno Mars
performs there.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
Uh-huh, jabberwockies are going to be somewhere in
Vegas with the residency, I hear.
Or they're already out there, but they just got renewed or
something.
Oh, okay, but they're out thereand they have a—I'd really like
to go to a Jabbawockeez showone day.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
Yeah, me too.

Speaker 1 (06:08):
You know, just for the hip hop.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
Mom said she's planning this weekend to go to
one with Omar, to theJabbawockeez Mm-hmm.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
Or a show.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
A show.

Speaker 1 (06:16):
All right, well, why going to go to the Stratosphere?

Speaker 2 (06:18):
The Strat yeah, yeah, yeah so.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
Are they going to get on the ride up there?
I doubt it.
The one that hangs off the side.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
No, mom's not going to do that.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
Not the Stratosphere, the other one, the oh,
experience a few hundred bucks aperson or something.
Yeah, they have wizard of ozgoing on right there right now.

(06:54):
Yes, they do.
Um, so, yeah, so we didn't dowell at the mgm.
They kind of took us and these, these bigger casinos, they have
a worse return to playerusually than the off strip sites
, you know.
So we decided you know, wewatch a lot of youtube and a lot
, a lot of slot players andstuff like that is.
We decided, you know, let's goto El Cortez.

Speaker 2 (07:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (07:07):
And we made our first trip over to El Cortez and
loved it.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
We loved it.
We absolutely loved it.

Speaker 1 (07:12):
Loved it.
It's just a little hop.

Speaker 2 (07:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
I mean it's just right down the street.

Speaker 2 (07:20):
I had never been to Fremont it was my first time and
I've been to Vegas lots oftimes.
Lots of times.

Speaker 1 (07:29):
I'm not sure if I remember knowing that at the
time that it was your first timeat Fremont, but I'm sure you
told me it was.
Yeah, my memory's shit.
I got a motorcycle helmetthat's half shaved off in the
head.
I got head trauma, girl, Iforget things, bad memory.
Anyways, we got a motorcyclehelmet that's half shaved off in
the head.
I got head trauma, girl.
You know, I forget things.
I have a bad memory.
Anyways, we had a great time atthe El Cortez.

(07:49):
We met Adam, the GM over there.
He's been a pleasure tointeract with and see on the
floor and his activity and justthe relationships that he has
with a lot of the YouTubers andstuff that go in there and the
support that he gives them.

Speaker 2 (08:03):
But even if you're not a YouTuber, I think he's
pretty amazing to his staff.
He's amazing to the generalpublic yeah, he started out as a
blackjack dealer.
Yeah, and he is.

Speaker 1 (08:13):
He worked his way all the way through the ranks up to
a casino manager a casino boss.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
He's pretty awesome.
So if you guys ever see him sayhi.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
Yeah, bald guy dressed in a suit, bald white,
bald guy dressed in a suit.
Um, real nice guy, real nice.
Wait, maybe too nice.
I'm not sure about him.
I might have to, I don't know.
We went to the chef um the cheffood truck in the mgm yeah, we
did they have a replicated cheffood truck in the mgm.
It's been there for long timebut we never went in the

(08:45):
previous times that we went.

Speaker 2 (08:46):
No.

Speaker 1 (08:47):
But we decided to grab a little bite to eat there
and it was okay.
I can't say I was head overheels for it or anything like
that.
I think your Cubanos are better.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (08:58):
Yeah, much better.
We just had one tonight, as amatter of fact.
Yes, she just made one tonight.
We just had one tonight, as amatter of fact.
Yes, she just made one tonight.
And speaking of that, we have alittle something on the horizon
.
Yes, and we won't go too farinto it.
Maybe we will when we you know, later on in the podcast.
We're only 10 minutes in andwe've got a lot to talk about.

Speaker 2 (09:17):
still we do.

Speaker 1 (09:18):
But we have something on the horizon that we're
thinking about doing, andanybody that knows us knows that
when we decide we want to dosomething, we just jump in and
do it.
Yeah, we'll figure it out.
We're gonna have our failures,we're gonna have our hiccups,
we're gonna have our issues, um,but also anybody that knows us
knows that we are going todeliver an amazing product yeah

(09:40):
to the best of our abilitiesAlways.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (09:42):
There's pride there.
There's pride there.
So, yeah, we got back and wedid the Father's Day celebration
out at Heritage.

Speaker 2 (09:54):
Yes, we did.

Speaker 1 (09:55):
Heritage Park.
Did the Father's Daycelebration out there?

Speaker 2 (10:00):
Really really nice kids.
There was a bunch of youthfulkids and everybody was just so
nice.
There were a lot of vendors, youth, youthful kids and
everybody was a lot of vendorsout there too yeah, a lot of
vendors um.

Speaker 1 (10:11):
It was a great, great turnout yeah yep, yeah, we've
been, uh, we've been busy.
We also got on with uh north ofthe river.

Speaker 2 (10:22):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (10:22):
We've been doing events with them, DJing for them
, balloon arrangements, decor, things of that nature.
We've been doing a lot of thatwith them and look forward to
doing more of it with them.
We like them.

Speaker 2 (10:35):
Yeah, we like that group.
We do have one coming up soon.

Speaker 1 (10:39):
Yeah, we have so much coming up.

Speaker 2 (10:41):
It's crazy, we're going to be so busy.

Speaker 1 (10:43):
Especially October.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
Yeah, we're going to have to find some time to make
more podcasts.
I mean, we need to make timefor it.

Speaker 1 (10:51):
We just have to do it .

Speaker 2 (10:52):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (10:53):
It just seems to be an easy thing to go by the
wayside.
Yeah, and it's not a bad thing.
You know the Rodecaster.
The device that we record on isvery simple.
You plug a power cord into it,you plug your mics into it and
you plug your headphones into itand you're good to go.
You hit the record button, justlike we are now, and we're hot.

(11:14):
We're hot.
So that's how lazy I have been.
As easy as that sounds.
We've just been busy and we'vebeen tired and we've just not
super interested or notinterested.

(11:34):
We love it.
I love the podcast.

Speaker 2 (11:36):
I love documenting life but you also haven't been
feeling too good yeah, I've beenhaving some health struggles.

Speaker 1 (11:42):
Yeah, I've been having some health struggles and
I think, think, we're on theverge of getting all that
figured out.

Speaker 2 (11:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (11:49):
We got an ultrasound tomorrow morning.
We got some labs tomorrowmorning, fasted, so after 10
o'clock or whatever, I can't eat.
So this podcast has to be doneby 10 because I'm eating again
before I can eat.
Eating and drinking I can't eator drink for 12 hours or
something.

Speaker 2 (12:08):
Oh, they didn't even want you to drink water.
Uh-uh, oh, that's weird.

Speaker 1 (12:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
Because they usually want liquid in there.

Speaker 1 (12:14):
I don't know, not me.

Speaker 2 (12:16):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (12:17):
Not me, but we've also been on a semi-health kick
I can't say a great health kick.
You know we're not, you know, off the deep end on it.

Speaker 2 (12:31):
No.

Speaker 1 (12:31):
We're just eating a little better.

Speaker 2 (12:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (12:34):
We've lost a lot of weight.
I've lost about 30 pounds.

Speaker 2 (12:37):
I've lost about 20.

Speaker 1 (12:38):
And leaning out and you know we were getting a
little chubs a little thick.

Speaker 2 (12:44):
It's because we're so in love.

Speaker 1 (12:46):
Oh man man.

Speaker 2 (12:49):
Because I cook so much, I don't really cook.

Speaker 1 (12:56):
You don't, yeah, you don't.

Speaker 2 (12:58):
When I cook, it's amazing.

Speaker 1 (13:00):
Oh amazing, she knows how to cook.
The girl knows how to cook.
Amazing, oh amazing, she knowshow to cook.
Girl knows how to cook.
She cooks amazing, amazing food, and not just culturally, but
just pretty much anything thatshe wants to cook.
She's pretty great at it.

Speaker 2 (13:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (13:14):
She's pretty great.
You know nothing like ahome-cooked meal, right?
Yeah, you know, but I'm goingto blame this on you, though,
babe, that I don't cook so much,of course you're gonna have to
blame it on me.
I get blamed for everything youknow.
Whatever I'm used to it.
At this point I'm like, okay, yeah this is my baby look so
he'll be like what are we gonnaeat?

Speaker 2 (13:34):
and I'm like, oh, I can make some enchiladas or some
tacos.
How long is that gonna take you?

Speaker 1 (13:43):
and I say maybe an hour, two hours, maybe now, look
, I just have different valuethat I place on time and
spending time with loved onesand things of that nature.
Um, time is very, very, veryvaluable to me, don't?
I mean, if you really want to,you know, get on my bad side or
have me cut you out of my life, waste my time.

Speaker 2 (14:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (14:07):
I don't have time for it.
Yeah, our time is finite.
We don't know how much time wehave, and I place a very high
value on mine.

Speaker 2 (14:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (14:19):
Whether that be because of near-death
experiences, motorcycleaccidents, you know, trauma,
whatever it may be, I just havea different outlook and I place
things a little differently onmy list of importance priorities
, things that I care about orare important to me.

Speaker 2 (14:39):
Yeah, I mean, sometimes it doesn't take me two
hours to cook something.
I can cook something prettygood in about 20 minutes.
Yeah, you can cook somethingtogether pretty quick yeah.

Speaker 1 (14:47):
Especially like the little taquitos or something.
You know.
Those are pretty quick usually,yeah.

Speaker 2 (14:52):
Yeah, and then also like, if we want steak or
something, you'll come in thereand help me and I'll just cook
the sides and you cook the maincourse.

Speaker 1 (15:05):
And we get to cook together, which we've been doing
a lot of.
Yeah, you know we've been doingmore of it and I enjoy it and I
want to even do even more of it, right, and and go down and
experiment and, and you know, dosome new dishes and things of
that nature and and get good atit.
Um, you know, we need to pickup a traeger, we need to pick up
a smoker yeah, we do and weneed to pick up a regular grill
as well and a Blackstone.

(15:27):
We do we need all three of thoseEvery time we're out in Ohio at
Mom's.
I'm on those every day.
Pretty much Every other day I'mcooking on one of those,
Whether we cook breakfast ordinner that day.

Speaker 2 (15:40):
but we are cooking on them, which is a great
experience.
I mean, we get to do that withmom and get to bond with her,
because she also loves to do it.

Speaker 1 (15:49):
Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 (15:51):
You know.
And then she taught me how tomake biscuits and gravy.

Speaker 1 (15:55):
I mean that's core, that's a core component, that is
a foundational meal, Like ifyou want to be with Gordon
Baldrige, if you want to dateGordon Baldrige, if you want to
marry Gordon Baldrige.

Speaker 2 (16:11):
You already have someone, it's alright.

Speaker 1 (16:13):
Everybody else is shit out of luck, because this
girl's already taking care ofeverything Everything but food
is one of those things.
There's a couple ways to myheart, and she knows the direct
path to both.
We met Vegas Matt out there too.
Oh, we did.

(16:33):
You know, we met Vegas Matt.
He's a big YouTuber, bigYouTuber.
I think he's the number oneslot YouTuber.
Yeah, it's either him.

Speaker 2 (16:43):
Lady.

Speaker 1 (16:43):
Luck or Mr Handpay.
Yes, I think those are the twoLuck, or, mr Handpay.
Yes, I think those are the top,or?

Speaker 2 (16:47):
NG NG's up there too.
Yeah, If there's a top 10,they're usually in the first one
through four.

Speaker 1 (16:53):
Yeah, that's how it falls.
Yeah, that's how it falls.

Speaker 2 (16:56):
Depending on how much money they lost.
It's either they lost so muchthat they're six through 10, or
they want so much that they'reone through four.

Speaker 1 (17:05):
Because they have a slot league or a slot community
or whatever, and they're ranked, you know, like a college
football team, like a sportsteam, like whatever else.
They're ranked.
It's a serious thing.
And we're ranked probably athousand.

Speaker 2 (17:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (17:24):
All about the bonuses .

Speaker 2 (17:25):
Yes, yes, we do have a slot channel.

Speaker 1 (17:27):
We have a slot channel.
Um, we're growing it.
We're, you know, slow andsteady.
Yeah, we're not in a hurry,we're enjoying the journey.
We're enjoying, uh, you knowwhat we're doing and we're
making sure that the gamblingand and the gaming and, and it
stays enjoyable as well, onceanything turns into work or a
business or things of thatnature, and you forget the fun

(17:50):
aspect or the fun component orthe lightheartedness or all the
great memories that you made, even when you were losing,
laughing about things, whateverit may be, you've lost and you
won't make it.
Your slot channel won't lastand you will, you won't make it.
Your, your slot channel won'tlast.
Your djing career won't last.
Your, you know, nothing willlast no after you learn a hatred

(18:14):
or a dislike of something andit becomes monotonous or work or
a lot of you know you lose it,yeah, you lose it, and always
gamble responsibly yeah, look, look, you're gonna lose no
matter what you're gonna lose,I'm just gonna tell everybody
right now you're gonna lose.

(18:35):
I don't care if you're watchingslot channels and you see mr
hand paying.
These guys win five thousanddollars, ten thousand dollars.
What you don't see is it coststhem $60,000 to win the 10.

Speaker 2 (18:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (18:48):
So if you can do math which some of you apparently
probably can't if you thinkgambling's a winning venture, go
keep spending your money there.
But you're doing it for thewrong reason right um, you have
to look at it.
You have to look at it like, um,like a game, uh, like um an

(19:10):
event, like something thatyou've purchased tickets to, to
go, experience and do yeah andand that's not a loss when
you're coming back with funmemories or you know memories of
bonuses or whatever else yeah, you know no different than
buying tickets to a KendrickLamar concert, right.
You spend $800, $1,500,whatever it is on decent tickets

(19:32):
to any of these shows.
You're technically throwingmoney away, right, because all
you're creating is a memory.

Speaker 2 (19:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (19:40):
So, if you look at it the wrong way, you're throwing
money away.
If you look at it the right way, you're creating money away.
If you look at it the right way, you're creating memories,
you're having fun, you're doingsomething, but you're going to
lose.
We lose, we lose every time.

Speaker 2 (19:53):
We do.

Speaker 1 (19:54):
We lose every time, and I'm not even joking.
There might be one or two timesthat we've left plus, but
overall in the big scheme in thebig, big picture and at the end
of the day we lose.
Every session, yeah, every time, yeah, do we have 500 wins,
1400 wins?

(20:15):
You know hand pay here andthere, yeah, but the money that
it costs to get to that um faroutweighs the win yeah, and and
you know you talk about.
We talked about return to playerearlier, um, in reference to
the mgm park and the bigger, thebigger casinos.
Yeah, rtp is a very real thingand it's set at the casino level

(20:38):
, um, and it is managed by thegaming commission and the gaming
board and and they cannot theycannot, apparently, who knows
right, but from what I'veresearched and learned, it can't
be changed dynamically.
To change the RTP on any ofthese slot machines, they have
to actually physically open thecabinet and program it or

(21:00):
something along those lines, right, or they have to do it on
the server on the back end, whatever it may be, but those
are all logged events.

Speaker 2 (21:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (21:08):
The Gaming Commission has those logs and it prevents
them from.
You know, at one point in time, vegas, you know, when it was
mob ran and back in the olderdays it was fixed even more.
So right, yeah, but now it'sless fixed.
But obviously it's always infavor of the casino.
It's always in favor of thecasino.

(21:29):
You guys, see these casinos, you see to hone, you know, you
see um hard rock to hone.
You see eagle mountain, you seetachi, you see chuck chancy,
you see black oak, you seeyamava.
You see all of these casinos.
Yeah, they didn't get built bylosing.

Speaker 2 (21:47):
No.

Speaker 1 (21:49):
They didn't get built by losing.

Speaker 2 (21:50):
No.

Speaker 1 (21:51):
They got built by all of our money.

Speaker 2 (21:53):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (21:53):
So do it for the experience, do it for the fun,
do it without the expectation oflosing or winning.
Well, do it with theexpectation of losing, for sure
That'll definitely take thesting out when it does happen,
because it's going to, but go inwith the right mindset.
I'm spending money onentertainment.

(22:14):
Instead of going to Burning man, I'm going to El Cortez.
Instead of going to theKendrick Lamar, I'm going to El
Cortez.
Instead of going to Starbucks, every morning I'm going to El
Cortez.

Speaker 2 (22:25):
Right.

Speaker 1 (22:26):
Like you know, it's just, it's how you're choosing
to spend your money.

Speaker 2 (22:32):
Well, the good incentive about going to El
Cortez there is a Starbucks inthere.

Speaker 1 (22:36):
There is a Starbucks in there and it is definitely
not as busy as the Park.
Mgm.

Speaker 2 (22:41):
No.

Speaker 1 (22:46):
The Park MGM, you're going to spend about 30 minutes
in line for coffee if you're notsmart enough to order it on the
app or whatever.
But here's the other thing ElCortez also takes care of you.
You got free valet parking andour Jeep specifically cannot
park in a parking structurebecause it doesn't fit.
It's too tall, it is too big.
It has a rooftop tent on it.

(23:08):
It's lifted up four inches.
It has 37-inch tires on it.
It's too big.
It'll clip, it'll break off,it'll scratch, it'll do
something.
Well, and you have to pay forparking at these places.
El Cortez is free parking.
You pull up, you grab yourstuff, they valet it, they park
it over in their parking lot.
You get there, your rooms arecomped most of the time.

(23:29):
You get a couple hundreddollars worth of food vouchers.
You get a couple hundreddollars worth of gambling free
play.
Quote unquote.
Free play.
It's a different experience.

Speaker 2 (23:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (23:45):
And I think they have that same experience at the
plaza and the other places downon fremont you know not on the
strip?
No, and I think plaza iscurrently running a um
all-inclusive no okay, I thinkyou can go to plaza and you can
get an all-inclusive thing.
You'll get a wristband orwhatever.
You just go around eating anddrinking and gambling and doing
your thing right and they have apool.

Speaker 2 (24:04):
Yeah, rooftop right the plaza has a pool.

Speaker 1 (24:07):
It's up on the roof, I think.

Speaker 2 (24:08):
Is it?

Speaker 1 (24:08):
Yeah, we haven't been up there.

Speaker 2 (24:09):
We haven't, we did go to the plaza.

Speaker 1 (24:11):
We went to the non-smoking section, we went to
the smoking section.
We've been all over the placeover there, up and down Fremont
and all of that good stuff.

Speaker 2 (24:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (24:23):
But what else?
You know, we've had lots ofphoto booths still going out.
Our photo booths are still verypopular and very, very
aggressively priced yeah like weare very um, I would like to
say affordable yeah our photobooths are very affordable they
are and a lot of times I feellike a photo booth and a dj and

(24:48):
you're set, your party is set.
Yes, regardless of the food, regardless of some of the other
stuff you know alcohol, ofcourse yeah alcohol, dj, photo
booth and you're pretty good.

Speaker 2 (24:59):
Yeah, it's, that's a party I mean, like the photo
booth has lines yeah, the photobooth is always backed up, it
always has lines.

Speaker 1 (25:07):
People you know love taking pictures they do creating
memories, having fun yeah, youknow you get to be silly in
front of a photo booth.

Speaker 2 (25:17):
I mean, a photo booth is almost like you're taking a
selfie of yourself, buthands-free.

Speaker 1 (25:23):
Yeah, and it's like I said, it's one of those
opportunities that you get to besilly, right Like you get to be
silly.
You get to be silly, right Likeyou get to be silly.
You get to.
You get to be goofy, yeah, whereas you know any other point

(25:45):
in time.
You know you're straight andnarrow and you know working and
you know you're not that big ofa party monster or anything else
.
But something about being infront of a photo booth
automatically gives you a passto say be goofy as hell right
now and you get away with it.
We don't care how we look up onthe big screen at Havana when
we take our pictures and itdisplays to all the projectors

(26:05):
on all the screens.
And everybody in the world.
Well, everybody in Havana, 150,200 people see us.

Speaker 2 (26:11):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (26:13):
And they see each other and we all enjoy it.

Speaker 2 (26:16):
Yeah, it's so fun.

Speaker 1 (26:17):
We love seeing other people be goofy and silly and
have fun.
They love seeing us be goofyand silly and have fun, and it's
almost like a commonality thatwe're as different as we all are
, we're all the same too.

Speaker 2 (26:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (26:34):
As different as we all are.
Some of us are lawyers, some ofus are healthcare professionals
, some of us are lawyers, someof us are health care
professionals, some of us aredjs, some of us are are culinary
experts, you know.
Whatever it may be, um, but wecan all be goofy in front of a
photo booth yeah and and I.
That's.
That's a big common, that's abig thing.

(26:55):
I like that.
I like that We've had quite afew Havannas, you know, every
month Havana is once a month.

Speaker 2 (27:04):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (27:05):
And I got to say we're on probably Havana 15, 16,
or 17 at this point.
We've been going for well overa year.
We've been greatly successfulfor well over a year.
Legends prior 1933 has alwaysbeen supportive of us.
Yes, they've always welcomed us.
They've always welcomed ourcrowds and our people, and even

(27:29):
when maybe the bar isn't as hotas it needs to be, yeah, and
that's something that we'regoing to have to figure out as
well A lot of our Havana dancers.
They're very serious abouttheir craft.

Speaker 2 (27:45):
They are.

Speaker 1 (27:45):
They're very into dancing and social dancing and
Latin dancing, and they're notinterested in getting drunk and
partying and being sloppy.
They like to be out on thedance floor learning new moves,
dancing with other people, practicing, refining their craft
, their hobby, their passion, whatever it may be.

(28:07):
So sometimes the bar sales arenot all the way there.

Speaker 2 (28:14):
But it's more of like I feel like it's like they know
their limit, Like they'll goget a drink yeah, You're not
going to see someone throwing upand spilling this or?

Speaker 1 (28:26):
spilling that.
They're not going to bebelligerent, they're not going
to be starting shit.
They're not going to have toget drug out, they're not going
to have to, you know, uber homeor anything.
Nobody gets sloppy.

Speaker 2 (28:34):
No, nobody anything.

Speaker 1 (28:42):
Nobody gets sloppy.
No, nobody gets sloppy, yeahyou know, but if you need an
uber, get an uber.
Yeah, absolutely always.
You know.
I think a dui is over tenthousand dollars nowadays oh,
wow for all the fees and finesand, and you know, the school
and everything else that youhave to go through for yeah not
to mention, you know, the.

Speaker 2 (28:58):
It's not worth it yeah.

Speaker 1 (29:05):
The worst part of possibly taking a life or losing
your own as well.

Speaker 2 (29:08):
Yeah, yeah, it's not worth it.

Speaker 1 (29:10):
What else we had?
We had our little Livvy.
Our little Olivia turned 13.

Speaker 2 (29:15):
She did, she turned 13.
She turned 13.
She did.

Speaker 1 (29:18):
She turned 13.

Speaker 2 (29:20):
She turned 13.
What did she want this year forher birthday?

Speaker 1 (29:23):
Didn't she want a makeup shopping spree?

Speaker 2 (29:26):
What she got.
She got a makeup shopping spree.
We had a little get together athome, just a little quaint
thing with family, yeah, whichshe loved you.
You know we did games, we didcake presents it was really

(29:47):
really, really nice it was goodsometimes it's nice just to do
something little yeah you know.
And then we had anotherbirthday.

Speaker 1 (29:57):
We had kai's birthday yeah, that's jumping forward a
little bit it's too forward okayyeah, we still have stuff that
we've we've done between thenand now.
But yeah, we did have kai'sbirthday.
She just turned 10, 10, 10 thisgirl's like six feet tall,
maybe 5, 10, I don't know whatshe is she?

Speaker 2 (30:16):
She's taller than me, I'm 5'2".

Speaker 1 (30:18):
Well, that's not hard to do.
5'2 is not in the middle ground, it's not normal 10-year-olds
are not taller than 5'2".

Speaker 2 (30:27):
10-year-olds taller than 5'2" no.

Speaker 1 (30:30):
Well, she is.

Speaker 2 (30:31):
She is, she's got tall parents.

Speaker 1 (30:33):
Avery's like six feet , I think it's got tall parents.
Avery's like six feet I think Ithink so too, but you said you
noticed it looked like Kai had aspurt and she was almost taller
than Avery.

Speaker 2 (30:43):
Now, I think she is taller.

Speaker 1 (30:45):
How old's Avery?
Thirteen, thirteen and Kai'sten now, and she's almost taller
than Avery.

Speaker 2 (30:52):
Yeah, I feel like Avery's done growing.
I don't think she's going togrow more.
I feel like Avery's donegrowing.
I don't think she's going togrow more.

Speaker 1 (30:58):
I think she's going to fill out.
She's going to blossom somemore, you know.
But yeah, as far as height andstuff, I think she might be done
.

Speaker 2 (31:06):
I mean, she's a tall girl.
She's almost as tall as me,she's very tall.
She might grow maybe anotherinch.

Speaker 1 (31:11):
She might have another spurt, yeah.

Speaker 2 (31:13):
Maybe when she turns 15 her sophomore year, or
something yeah, but I don'tthink she's gonna grow that much
more, but kai she still hasanother five years, five years,
yeah, yeah, three years to catchup to avrian.

Speaker 1 (31:27):
Five years until she stops growing, probably yeah so
kai could be looking at me eyelevel eventually yeah a six foot
three little girl, jesus that'sawesome we, uh, we've been
going out to ohio, yeah, beengoing out to columbus, uh,
without getting any specifics ordetails or anything like that.

(31:49):
I, you know, I don't reallydivulge personal information too
much, I don't really like, youknow, but mom's had some health
issues out there, uh, so we'vebeen hanging out out there, you
know, loving on her hanging out,you know having great times,
you know, cooking, cleaning, fixing to doing nothing hanging

(32:11):
out.
We went out to the Ohio StateFair, columbus, ohio, ohio State
state fair and uh, mom tony, have you guys listened to this?
I apologize, but it was kind ofshit.
Hey, it was kind of shit.

Speaker 2 (32:26):
It wasn't, you know, it wasn't that great but you
know I you know not to like sayanything bad about my in-laws,
but they need to get a cart.
Oh, a scooter so we got mom ascooter.

Speaker 1 (32:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (32:44):
We got mom a scooter because you know she gets tired.
Yeah, she's what?
70 now, mm-hmm.
And then her husband, tony.
He absolutely did not want toget a cart.

Speaker 1 (33:00):
Look, I can see both sides.
Yeah, there's a part of me thatsays never get in a wheelchair
unless you absolutely have to bein a wheelchair, don't do it.
It's bad, juju, it's bad luck,it's badness all around.
Don't do it.

Speaker 2 (33:19):
But he knows he has some bum knees.

Speaker 1 (33:22):
He has a bum knee or a couple bum knees.
He hurts in his back.
He has a bum back.

Speaker 2 (33:28):
He did such a great job.
He pushed and he pushed throughit.

Speaker 1 (33:33):
He trooped through it , but he also got cranky.
He did, he did get cranky welove him though what can you
expect if I'm in pain, I'm gonnabe a little short too I'm gonna
be like man don't be asking meabout no funnel cake.
Right now my fucking back hurts.
Fuck your funnel cake.

Speaker 2 (33:53):
I'm in pain, motherfucker oh, but it was so
much fun.
We had so much fun with them somany memories yeah, you scared
mom oh, I had to.

Speaker 1 (34:04):
I had to, you know.
Look, I love when old peopleget scared for some reason.
I I look, don't judge me, don'tcall me demented or anything
else like that.

Speaker 2 (34:18):
I just think it's funny you can't be scaring old
people.
Yeah, you can.

Speaker 1 (34:23):
I chat, gpt'd it and it says very rarely will
somebody have a fucking heartattack.
So we're cool.
That's a very, very smallpercentage of a possibility that
anybody gets a heart attackfrom getting scared.
So we're safe there.
And look, it makes you feelalive.

Speaker 2 (34:40):
Babe, but you set mom up, so we were still here in
Bakersfield and he's like oh,mom, I went to the hospital.
I went to the doctor and thedoctor said something's going on
with my jaw.

Speaker 1 (34:52):
Yeah, my jaw's been hurting.
Now, everybody knows, most ofyou probably know where this is
going.
You know everybody's seen thedog jaw pranks.
But if you haven't, look, besmart about it.
Plant the seed early, you know.
You know, reference it a coupletimes in the weeks coming.
Man, my jaw's been hurting.

(35:13):
I had to go to the doctor.
Leave it at at that.
Right, you have to set them up.
Right, you have to plant thatseed, you have to set it up.
And then you know, a few daysprior, say, yeah, we're almost
out there.
Ma, you know it's going to be acouple more days.
We're going to be out there.
I'm looking forward to it.
You know I might have to be alittle easy on some food.
My jaw's been hurting, you knowwent to the doctor, you know,

(35:34):
set it up, plant that seed alittle bit more right, Dig it
down in there deep right, Get itplanted and then we get out
there.

Speaker 2 (35:43):
We're eating dinner.

Speaker 1 (35:45):
Oh, we're at the table.
Huh, we're at the dining roomtable at mom's house.
We're eating dinner and I waslike mom, my jaw's hurting, feel
this right here.
And she goes to reach over tofeel my jaw and you immediately
do the dog barking.
You turn your head and you andI even bit her finger partially.
Her finger went in my mouth.

Speaker 2 (36:09):
She got so scared.
She got so scared.

Speaker 1 (36:16):
Hey, didn't I scare Tony with something too?
Did I get Tony while?

Speaker 2 (36:20):
we were out there.
I don't remember.

Speaker 1 (36:22):
I don't remember, I don't remember, but anyways, we
had a great time out there.
You know, we cooked, we cleaned, we did nothing.
We fixed some stuff, we workedon some stuff, we upgraded some
stuff.
We went to the home store and,you know know, bought some
planters and bought a birdfeeder and and bought some, some
uh sealant, some glossy sealantfor their, their, their deck

(36:46):
outside, for their, uh, theirpatio outside, did all that
changed light bulbs changedlight bulbs, fixed a couple weak
links in the fence outside, worked on the front flower bed,
got some new wood chips down outthere, just did all kinds of
stuff.

Speaker 2 (37:05):
Lots of little things .

Speaker 1 (37:06):
Just to make things nice and comfy and homey.
Yeah, lots of little things, just lots of little things.
And again, lots of nothing too.
We ordered pizza out there acouple times and the last one
that we ordered out there wasamazing.
That pizza was the mostprobably authentic new york

(37:27):
style.
Uh, slash italian.
Uh, it was amazing.
The sauce, yeah, the spicypepperonis with the regular
pepperonis you know, they hadthe basil on there.
The dough the crust themozzarella cheese.
Everything was just perfect.
Great pizza joint we found outthere and we're definitely going

(37:50):
to be doing that every timewe're out there.
G's Body Works been pickingback up here and there, you know
, been working on more clients, new clients, returning clients

(38:12):
and one of those clients just sohappened to be one of the
owners of Elevate Fitness herein Bakersfield.
Elevate, with an eight at theend.
It's the new gym over onRosedale Highway next to like
John's Incredible pizza backbehind.
What is that?
Black angus or something Ithink so yeah, um, old, 24-hour
fitness, beautiful gym.
They have some 300 pieces ofequipment, spacious, they have a
pool, hot tub, sauna, steamroom, you know free weights, you

(38:36):
know everything.
And uh, we got to talking andthey were having a?
Uh kind of an event, uh, almosta grand opening event, but
their grand opening was a weekor two prior, I think and uh,
they asked me to go out thereand dj out there.
So we went out to elevatefitness and we uh set up and we

(38:56):
d DJed for the entire gym for afew hours.

Speaker 2 (38:59):
Yeah, we did.
Yeah, and that was nice.

Speaker 1 (39:02):
We are now members of .
Elevate Fitness as well.

Speaker 2 (39:05):
Yeah, it was so packed.

Speaker 1 (39:08):
It was.
It was a very packed event.
It surprised them as well.

Speaker 2 (39:12):
Yeah, very, very successful event.
I've been out there with Summer.

Speaker 1 (39:19):
Yeah, summer, you and Summer have gone to the gym.
Now I've I've missed it bothtimes now due to some health
issues, you know, trying to beon the mend and trying to get
better and, you know, rest andrecover and all that good stuff,
and that's affected a lot ofthings.
It's affected g's body works.
I've had to, you know, turndown appointments or cancel
appointments, which I anybodythat knows me knows I hate doing

(39:41):
.
It's not something that I liketo do.
It's not something that I Itake great pride in honoring
commitments yeah yeah, speakingof of the gym, somebody went on
a gym shopping spree.

Speaker 2 (40:01):
What Huh what?

Speaker 1 (40:02):
What?
And while she was doing the gymshopping spree, our daughter
walked in and decided she wantedsome gym stuff too.

Speaker 2 (40:12):
Spoiled brat.
Who you or, her, her, why notyou?
Because I work.
Because you have to put up withme I work that's the cost of
doing business yeah, I do a lotof things for you so we got a
bunch of uh bunch of shorts Igot new shoes, I got tops,
bottoms long, bottom, shortbottoms yeah, I'm a big fan of

(40:36):
fabletics, so I was starting toget disappointed in fabletics
though yeah as you guys wereshopping, I was very, I was
getting a little irritated withthem because the way that their
site is set up, the way thattheir inventory is set up, yeah
it wastes your time, like someof them are blacked out right,
so like the extra, extra, extrasmall option was grayed out

(40:59):
because maybe it was sold out.
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (41:01):
The 3X didn't exist because maybe they just don't
make them that big for, you know, whatever it may be.
And then you have your regularsmall, medium, large, extra
large, extra extra large, whatever it may be, and you go
through, you select your size, you select your inseam, you
select your rise and yeah, allof these other things, only for

(41:21):
the motherfucker at the end totell you, uh, we're out of stock
of that one yeah, like hey man,it's no longer available and
it's like but when you're on andthen upon initial ordering, it
says there's only four left yesand you go to order it and it's
like, oh no, there's none left,so their site.
I think it's deceiving yeah um,I think they might.
Actually.

(41:41):
They might actually have aproblem one day with that.
Yeah, legally I.
I think one day they might havea uh, like a dishonest kind of
business practice that they'rerunning.
Uh, for one you have to be amember, which is fine, whatever.
That's that's their business.
If that's how they want to runtheir business, then you have to
be a member.
To buy fabletics, then it iswhat it is.

(42:03):
But allowing people to go inthere say that there's four to
six left, you go drill down andthen it says there's none.
You know, it's like, hey, yeah, what's my goddamn membership
for if I can't even order theshit that I want to order?

Speaker 2 (42:16):
or need to order right.

Speaker 1 (42:18):
So I think somebody is going to get sue happy or
lawsuit happy or whatever elseand they're going to say you
know what, fuck them.

Speaker 2 (42:29):
So I've been trying to look at other workout places.

Speaker 1 (42:39):
Yeah, and you know the way social media works, the
way our phones work, the way theworld works now is if you even
say something in the air.
All of a sudden you'rescrolling through instagram and
you're starting to get ads forthis shit yeah right.
So no, no shit.
We ordered the stuff.
We ordered stuff from amazon,we ordered stuff from fabletics,
we ordered stuff from you knowmultiple places.
All of a sudden, we'rescrolling through Instagram or

(43:00):
Facebook and all the ads thatare popping up are now shapewear
or athletic wear, or whateverit may be.
So I keep sending Marion.
I'm sitting here scrolling orwhatnot, and I'd be sending her
hey, here's another company thatyou might want to look at.
Maybe you like the way theylook or fit, or whatever it may
be.
And I mean there's hundreds ofthem, though there's.

(43:20):
There's too many of them.

Speaker 2 (43:21):
There's way too many, there's too many and then
you're like you have to try themon.
Like you, you have to try themon because you put them on and
you're like, okay, I like theway these fit.

Speaker 1 (43:32):
But then it's like the true test is when you're
running or you're working outand you're in the gym yeah, and
they start climbing or whateveror rolling yeah, so.
And booty cheeks are hangingout.

Speaker 2 (43:44):
That's okay, just kidding, okay, just kidding.

Speaker 1 (43:47):
Attention all Elevate women.
If your booty cheeks areshowing in the gym, my wife says
it's okay if I look.

Speaker 2 (43:55):
No, I did not say that it's okay if I look.
No, I did not say that it'sokay.
No, I did not say that.

Speaker 1 (43:59):
It's okay if your booty cheeks are hanging out.

Speaker 2 (44:01):
You said Babe, that's not okay.
Who's yours?
That is not okay.

Speaker 1 (44:04):
Who's it okay for?

Speaker 2 (44:06):
I was kidding, you took it too far.
No, yes, no.

Speaker 1 (44:09):
I'll snatch that up real quick.
I wouldn't.

Speaker 2 (44:11):
You, I wouldn't you know, I'm very classy.
Yeah, I know, yeah, I know I'mjust being silly.

Speaker 1 (44:18):
So Elevate was great.
The girls went back to school.
Everybody's kids went back toschool.
Everybody has their kidpictures that they post.

Speaker 2 (44:27):
I know, but we have a senior.

Speaker 1 (44:29):
We have a senior now.

Speaker 2 (44:30):
We have a senior.
Yeah, we have a couple thatwill be going into high school
soon.
Yeah, we have our last year ineighth grade, yeah, and then the
other two.
They'll be a while, yeah, butyeah, so we have our oldest.
She's a senior, which she'salready prepared us yeah she's

(44:52):
like senior year is gonna beexpensive yeah, and it has been
well.
Life is just expensive periodyeah, but you know, I think we
want her to be able toexperience her senior year to
the fullest.
Yeah, because we didn't get toit's gonna be her last one.
No, hell no we didn't get tolike I want her to go to prom, I
want her to go to all thesethings and you know she's.

(45:13):
She's very smart.
What happened in the Bluffs nottoo long ago?
Someone got shot.

Speaker 1 (45:19):
You can't say smart.
You got to be careful with thatyou got to be a little
sensitive to that.

Speaker 2 (45:27):
Somebody died at the Bluffs?
No, but I'm saying she doesn'twant to go to those parties.

Speaker 1 (45:33):
She doesn't put herself in bad positions.

Speaker 2 (45:36):
She doesn't, she doesn't.
She doesn't put herself in badpositions.

Speaker 1 (45:38):
She doesn't, she doesn't, she doesn't put herself
in possible bad places andpositions.
She's very sound, very mature, she has a good head on her
shoulders, she's driven, sheknows what she wants.
She knows what she doesn't want.

Speaker 2 (45:52):
But also if she asked us if she could go to a party.
She's very honest with us.

Speaker 1 (45:57):
Well, she knows that we're going to ask the correct
questions.

Speaker 2 (46:01):
Yeah, and for the most part.

Speaker 1 (46:02):
Is there going to be a parent there?
Is there going to be adultsthere?
Is you know who's going to bethere?
What's the crowd like?
Are they jocks?
Are they cheerleaders?
Are they you know?
What are they?

Speaker 2 (46:13):
Yeah, are you?

Speaker 1 (46:13):
know, are they Arvin kids?
Are they Eastside kids?

Speaker 2 (46:17):
I don't think that matters, but I'm saying like she
, even if we were to say, yes,Mama, you can go to the party,
she would call, be the first, wewould be the first, she would
call if something was not right.

Speaker 1 (46:28):
Oh yeah, we know, yeah, she'd just call us to pick
her up, or something.

Speaker 2 (46:31):
Yeah, she'd be like I don't want to be here.
Yeah, I'm to be here, yeah, I'mout.
Yeah.
But you know, our 13 year oldasked, not too long ago too, if
she could go to her, her, herfriends brothers 17th birthday.
I we said absolutely not yeah, nah, nah nope, nah, nah, you

(46:53):
know, so it's, you know thesekids, kai, she picked up the
saxophone.

Speaker 1 (46:59):
Yeah, Kai is going to be a little saxophone player
like her dad.
You know, I've played saxophonesince I was in about third
grade.
I was taught mostly by myfather.

Speaker 2 (47:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (47:09):
He taught me how to you know how to blow on the
goddamn thing, first andforemost right, yeah.
How to make it honk right.
And then you know the notes, reading music, tempo, timing,
key.
You know all of the otherimportant things that go into
music.
So, yeah, she picked upsaxophone.

Speaker 2 (47:30):
And I'm sure it's nice for you to ask her what
does this note mean?
And she tells you exactly whatit means.

Speaker 1 (47:36):
Or she doesn't and I'm able to educate her.

Speaker 2 (47:39):
Yeah Right, so that's nice.
It's nice to know that you knowyou have an influence on her.

Speaker 1 (47:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (47:47):
It's pretty cool.
So yeah, they were both outhere with their saxophones.

Speaker 1 (47:53):
Yeah, honking on them , playing them.
She's all excited.
She's like Marion, can you takeme to the music store so I can
go buy reeds and I was likewhat's that?

Speaker 2 (48:05):
sure, but I don't know what the fuck you're
talking about, but yeah, she'sall like she wants to do that,
and so we get to do all thosethings with our little girls.
And yeah, what else?
So we get to do all thosethings with our little girls,
yeah.

Speaker 1 (48:19):
What else?
We have more coming up.

Speaker 2 (48:26):
Yeah, but you know what?
We didn't finish talking abouther birthday.
Whose Kai's.

Speaker 1 (48:31):
We didn't get to start because you tried to start
it too soon and we had otherthings that happened between
then and her birthday.

Speaker 2 (48:38):
Well, she just turned 10.

Speaker 1 (48:40):
Just turned 10.
Today, officially today.

Speaker 2 (48:42):
Officially today she turned 10.

Speaker 1 (48:44):
But we celebrated Monday.

Speaker 2 (48:46):
Monday she was going to be with her mom.

Speaker 1 (48:49):
Yep, and so you know we have kind of a little
tradition when they turn doubledigits they get 10 gifts.
The amount of presents.

Speaker 2 (49:02):
You know that they are their ages.

Speaker 1 (49:03):
Yes, yeah, I, I did a little bit more because, yeah,
we always do I added extra giftsin certain yeah, one bag had
three gifts in it instead of one.

Speaker 2 (49:11):
Yeah, so she wanted makeup.
We got her makeup.
We heard we got her games.
We got her slime we got her.

Speaker 1 (49:18):
You can take that slime shit back.
I'm serious, that shit is sandslime, it's just a mess, it's
gonna be back in that one it'sgonna be in the carpet, it's
gonna be in the bed sheets, it'sgonna be on the bed rails, it's
gonna be on the door handles.

Speaker 2 (49:32):
She is not like that, stop it she's not messy shit,
stop it, she's not messy Shitman.
But anyways, I got them nothing.
Bunk cakes for her birthday andwe got her trick candles.
That was fun.

Speaker 1 (49:46):
Those were some ghetto trick candles, though
those were like sparklers.
Like you know, we tried to getthe candles that didn't get
blown out, right.
You blow them and they justfucking reignite, right, and
these motherfuckers definitelydid reignite, but they were
sparkling like sparklers fromthe fourth of july.
They weren't like regular, likeyou know, good, you know

(50:07):
non-blowout candles.
They were ghetto.
They're probably some gunpowderon there or something right,
just burning and justcontaminating the cupcakes but
anyway.

Speaker 2 (50:16):
So I'm like I get up in the morning and I was like
you know what?
I'm going to have a little cakewith my coffee.
These little girls ate all 24cupcakes.

Speaker 1 (50:27):
No, not all 24.

Speaker 2 (50:29):
No, but I'm saying there was probably like what?

Speaker 1 (50:32):
You're trying to make up for the ones that you also
ate.

Speaker 2 (50:35):
No, I did eat.

Speaker 1 (50:36):
All right.

Speaker 2 (50:37):
But they were all gone.
So but I'm glad, I'm glad theyate them.
And you know, sometimes we haveleftovers and we don't eat them
.

Speaker 1 (50:47):
I had to miss our last Havana because of this
little ailment.
I was not feeling well at all.
I had a flare up.

Speaker 2 (50:54):
I was not feeling well at all.

Speaker 1 (50:55):
I had a flare-up.
I was not feeling well at all,so I actually missed a Havana
and had another flare-up a fewdays later.
And we had a quince on Sundaythat I was hell-bent on making.
I was not going to be in thehospital.
I was not going to have anovernight stay in the hospital.

(51:17):
I was not going to have surgeryin the hospital.
I was not going to be in thehospital.
I was not going to have anovernight stay in the hospital.
I was not going to have surgeryin the hospital.
I was not going to miss thisKeen Set.
Again, it comes down toprinciples and values and work
ethic and things of that nature, and probably some stupidity
right, and probably somestupidity right, probably some

(51:42):
stubbornness, some stupidity, all of that mixed in where I
really should get myself checkedin, checked out, do all this
stuff.
But we were busy, we had priorcommitments and I take those
very seriously.
So we had Wellness Water, joe.

Speaker 2 (51:52):
Yeah, I was going to say shout out to our friend,
yeah big shout out to WellnessWater Liquid IVs.

Speaker 1 (52:00):
Joe came out here.
I was supposed to work on himthat day.
He had an appointment for bodywork and we were supposed to
work on his back and hisshoulder and I had to cancel.
And he was very understandingabout it, very understanding
about it, and everybody is niceabout it and understanding about
it, very understanding about it, and everybody is you know,
everybody's nice about it andunderstanding about it.

(52:21):
I hate myself for it.
I dislike it myself.
I'm harder on myself than theyare right, but they can't, you
know.
Joe came out here and hooked meup to an IV, administered a
couple meds and an IV for me andwe got through the Kinset.

Speaker 2 (52:42):
You were finally able to sleep.

Speaker 1 (52:44):
Yeah, Without pain.
Yeah, I had.
There was one night inparticular that was just the
most hellacious of them all, youknow.
Just to give you guys a littleinsight on what's going on Some

(53:08):
stomach issues, whether it'sappendicitis, whether it's
gallbladder, whether it'sbacteria, whatever it may be
very very very ill Diarrhea 15times a day throwing up, just
constant, just hellacious.
And it got so bad, the stomachcramps and the bloating and the
pain and the discomfort andeverything else you know.
Throwing up and having diarrhea, simultaneously sitting on a

(53:32):
toilet with a bucket right orspewing it all over the ground
like I initially didaccidentally.
Yeah, I'm sorry for thegraphicness.
Y'all you know it.
Just you know everybody's beenthere, I'm sure.

Speaker 2 (53:46):
Yeah, at least once in their life.

Speaker 1 (53:48):
But, you know, body started, you know not doing well
, had to practically getbutt-ass naked and lay on the
bathroom floor to cool the bodyoff, to not pass out.
And we were, you know, inches, seconds, maybe a minute away
from calling the ambulanceBecause we were trying to go to
the hospital, we were going togo to the ER, but I couldn't get

(54:11):
off the toilet for more thantwo minutes at a time.
No, so you know, the trip fromhere to maybe mercy downtown
five minutes, ten minutes, Idon't five minutes, maybe seven
minutes.
Um, I probably would have shiton myself three times on the
trip yeah and I'm not gonna shitin my jeep, not gonna do it but
you know.

Speaker 2 (54:30):
So finally his little episode was done and I saw him
lay on the bed and I'm like I'mnot moving him.
He just kind of.

Speaker 1 (54:42):
I think I had finally had a look of of some kind of
relief uh-huh some kind of ofcalmness you did they just, you
know, once everything's done,once everything's out, once
you're past that point whereyour body is now able to just
relax exhale yeah right, likejust exhale just yeah and relax.

(55:05):
Yeah, and I was like nope, I'mnot moving him, I'm not waking
him up, because that wasprobably the best rest he was
gonna get for a while for alittle bit, and not at a
hospital and in the prior, thedays and week prior to that, you
know, sleep and rest had beenway off and few and far between.
So I was exhausted, I reallywas, I really was.

(55:29):
But we had a great quince wedid we had a great keen say um.

Speaker 2 (55:36):
It came out, we delivered we did such a great
job we had a party.

Speaker 1 (55:42):
Um, oh, what else we got.
We got stuff coming up.
We got, you know, we got acomedy show coming up.
We've had a couple comedy showswith Clyde that we've also dj'd
in this in this time sincewe've podcasted last at least
two, I think and great events aswell.
Rich came out and supportedRich came out and he even came

(56:03):
up and dropped a set at the endof the night.
Comedians all done came up there, took over, dropped a set, and
he's always more than welcome toany of my friends or anybody
that I have a good working DJrelationship with is always
welcome to come out to any eventthat I'm at and you're more
than welcome to jump on and havesome fun and give the crowd a

(56:28):
different perspective, Give thecrowd a different genre, Give
the crowd a different tempo, adifferent beat, just a different
, you know a tempo.
A different beat, a different,just a different experience.

Speaker 2 (56:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (56:39):
And we all play different music and we all have
different ideas about what musicfor when and where and why and
who and everything else, and weall go about it differently.
And that's a very beautifulpart of DJing and music is if
somebody tells you hey, I wantyou to do a 90s and 2000s hip

(57:00):
hop and pop, set right, we'reall going to have different
songs.

Speaker 2 (57:05):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (57:06):
I mean, some of the ones might be the same Low or
whatever else.
Some of these songs might bethe same, but we're all going to
pick some different songs andthey all had different meanings
to all of us at different pointsin our lives.
You know, or we enjoyed them.
You know more than maybeanother song, and that's another

(57:27):
wild thing about djing, these, these weddings and quinces and
and things that have that spanmultiple decades or genres and
and music styles.
Right, you always have toapproach those because you want
to get something for everybody.
Right, you can't play 80s musicall night, you know, unless

(57:50):
it's specifically an 80s theme.

Speaker 2 (57:53):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (57:53):
But if we're talking about a wedding, you know my
approach to these open formatevents is my old people come
first.

Speaker 2 (58:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (58:07):
My older generation comes first 60s, 70s, 80s,
whatever that may be, Funk, disco, pop you know, country,
and then I'm going to work myway throughout the evening and
and try to hit those differentages in those different genres
and and things of that nature.

(58:28):
But it uh, it's a hard thing todo to keep everybody happy.

Speaker 2 (58:34):
It is, it is.

Speaker 1 (58:35):
It's a very, very tricky and difficult thing to do
, at least in my opinion.
Yeah, right, are we seasoned atit?
Yeah, can we do it?
Yeah, does that make it easy?
No, it just means that I'vedone it a few times now.

Speaker 2 (58:49):
Mm-hmm.

Speaker 1 (58:51):
And always learning.
You know, you get to the end ofyour night, the end of your set
, and you're like shit, I didn'tplay Bruno Mars.

Speaker 2 (58:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (58:59):
Why did I not play Bruno Mars?
What is going on and it's awhole dynamic right, it's a
whole equation of who's on thedance floor.
How old are they?
What music are they currentlyrocking out to?
How old are they?
What music are they currentlyrocking out to?
Who's the next?
You know who's going to be thenext demograph that you're going

(59:19):
to play for.

Speaker 2 (59:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (59:21):
Right, mixing that in with the interruptions of
special dances and whatever elsemay be and different, you know,
announcing certain things, andthen mixed in with that, people
requesting songs and certainthings and it's a big balancing
act.
It's a big juggling act.

(59:41):
You know it's not balanced,it's juggling, it's it's
juggling.
You're just constantly jugglingand it's uh, it.
It could.
It could get stressful, uh,especially if your your music is
unorganized.
If you're unorganized just as aperson in general, right, but
if your music library isunorganized, which our music

(01:00:06):
library is constantly gettingworked, there's constant
additions to it, there'sconstant cleanup to it.
Yeah, there's constant taggingto it, whether it be year,
whether it be genre, um, sorting, um, everything are are.
I'm very ocd on that.
It's because it, it's, it's oneof those things that'll save me

(01:00:30):
I feel, like if I'm preparedthere, I can get myself out of
something.
Yeah, I can.
I can quickly go to the 80s popand I can quickly identify some
bangers in there and I canquickly hit them.

Speaker 2 (01:00:44):
It's even easy for me that I'm a beginner.
I can just go to that folderand look and play.

Speaker 1 (01:00:52):
It's almost no brainer.
The thinking, part of it, partof that thinking, has been taken
out yeah now they're stillthinking there yes, yes again.
You know demograph here, genre, you know your crowd your crowd
where you're at in the night.
Uh, whatever it may be, there'sstill plenty to think about,
but that removes one componentthat you have to worry about or

(01:01:15):
think about, you know, and Ithink that's.
I think that separates quite afew DJs.

Speaker 2 (01:01:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:01:24):
I think it separates quite a few DJs.
Look your DJ that's been doingthis for 30 years.
Great, great.
But guess what?
You're still human, you stillhave a brain and you still
forget things yeah, you forgetgood music.
You forget a lot of give me.
We were in bed last night and Iwas going through music,

(01:01:47):
working on music cataloging,categorizing, analyzing,
analyzing, setting cue points, marking them, color coding them,
id tagging them with years andgenres, and you know you play
some of these music.
Man, I forgot all about thissong.
This song is badass.

(01:02:07):
You know it's a banger, it's ahot song, it's a.
This song is pretty fire Like.
I remember this song from.
You know some know some movie, you know a certain scene in a
movie and a lot of songs I can.
I remember them like that I canhear a song and I'm like, oh, I
remember this scene in the moviewhere this song played, right,
um.
So, yeah, I, I rely on mylibrary.

(01:02:30):
I do rely on my library and itis backed up it, it's backed up.
It's on the cloud, it's on anexternal drive.
I have copies of it.
So that's an importantcomponent, important component.

Speaker 2 (01:02:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:02:49):
We got the comedy show coming up.
Oh, speaking of high schoolkids, summervin high hit us up
yeah my alma mater, right myhigh school yeah where I
graduated from many moons ago.
You know, um, and we're gonnabe djing their uh grad or their

(01:03:12):
uh.
What is it what?
What's that night called?
Was it formal no uh homecominghomecoming.
Okay, we're gonna be dead.
We're gonna be djing theirhomecoming dance and it's gonna
be fun yeah, I've been workingon a lot of music for them yeah
you know, and and we talkedabout this on the most dope
podcast at the chewies than whenwe did that recently, which we

(01:03:33):
haven't talked about either.

Speaker 2 (01:03:34):
No.

Speaker 1 (01:03:35):
But we talked about.
I always find it difficultClean versions of songs, not
only clean as in lyrically, butyou also have to be careful with
the suggestive part.

Speaker 2 (01:03:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:03:51):
Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:03:53):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:03:55):
Yeah, yeah yeah, yeah yeah, and in the clean versions
don't necessarily filter outthe suggestive parts of those
songs.
So you have to be careful, because nowadays songs are more
and more sexualized, more andmore.

Speaker 2 (01:04:10):
You know, just raw kind of, dirty kind of it's more
explicit very like, yeah, whenwe listened to music back then
it's like it.

Speaker 1 (01:04:21):
They were naughty too , but not as you know, look you
know what's funny about that.
I'm glad you said somethingabout that, because, um, the
songs back in our day were verybad too yeah, like, how many
licks does it take to get to thecenter?
Worse than that, you know butgoing way back, yeah, even like

(01:04:45):
white lines.
You know it's talking aboutcocaine.
Yeah, you know there's.
There's songs, you know like aprayer madonna, madonna, like a
prayer.
She's talking about fellatio onher knees.

Speaker 2 (01:04:57):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:04:59):
Just listen to them lyrics and it's something that
as a kid I didn't pay anyattention to it.
No, I hate to say it because Ifeel like I was never sheltered
or anything like that, but I wasinnocent to it.

Speaker 2 (01:05:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:05:15):
I enjoy music.
Back in the days I enjoyedmusic more because of the beat,
the sound um the tempo, not thelyrics no nowadays, I listen to
a lot of lyrics.
I love lyrics.
Yeah, it's the poetry behindthe music.

(01:05:36):
Right, and you can catch thingsin there, whether they're doing
a storytelling, playing onwords, whether they're saying
something nasty, whatever it maybe.
Like Jessie Reyes, for example, she's playing in the background
right now.

Speaker 2 (01:05:52):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:05:52):
And she talks about milk.

Speaker 2 (01:05:54):
She does.
She needs some milk real, realbad yeah, man, man um but you
know, I think kids are stillinnocent, right, that's not okay
though that's not okay.

Speaker 1 (01:06:09):
Do you want your daughter yelling and singing out
I need some milk, real bad.
And she thinks she wants to goin the kitchen and get some milk
out of the refrigerator.
And she don't know what she'stalking about.

Speaker 2 (01:06:21):
And but all of us do and we're like hey, hey, whoa
but you can't really say thatbecause they're gonna dig and be
like why is this inappropriate?

Speaker 1 (01:06:31):
why?
Why is it called milk mom?
Oh man, it's, it's terrible,it's terrible.

Speaker 2 (01:06:37):
But yes, yes.

Speaker 1 (01:06:40):
We got more birthdays coming up.
Your birthday, summer'sbirthday, yes yeah, candy, oh
yeah, speaking of wellness water.
And Joe Candy is Joe's sistertheir brother and sister,
candy's having a birthday partynext Saturday that I'll be DJing

(01:07:00):
out there.
Originally she just invited us,rsvp'd us right Come out.
I'm like cool, you're going tohave a DJ out there.
She has some DJs in her family.

Speaker 2 (01:07:10):
I think.

Speaker 1 (01:07:12):
And she said, no, we're kind of trying to watch
the costs.

Speaker 2 (01:07:16):
I was like, well, well, I got you, then yeah, I'm
gonna do it for you.

Speaker 1 (01:07:18):
I mean, she's been so good to us, like yeah, look,
I'm not a free, j I'll cut thatshit out.
Everybody trying to get thatidea right now about gordon's
out there, dude djing for free,I don't.
Candy is another story.
Uh, marion had to have somesurgery, both required and
elective, and during thatrecovery process Candy was

(01:07:41):
basically her nurse.
She came out and did themassages and cleaned her and
treated her and took very goodcare of her.
So it's the least we can do.
You know, and they've beenlongtime clients of mine, mine,
you know body work clients, friends of the family now, um,
we know a lot of the same people, some some of the same events,

(01:08:02):
you know stuff like that.
So more than help, more thanhappy to go out there and dj her
50th, I think, her party okayfor her, um, so that'd be good.
Yeah, steve's calling, let mepause this podcast real quick.
Y'all, all right, y'all.

(01:08:23):
Magical moment of pause andrecord.
We are back.
Our neighbor Steve called ourRottweilers our little Houdinis.

Speaker 2 (01:08:36):
And they like to break out.

Speaker 1 (01:08:38):
They do.
They're big enough, obviouslybeing Rottweilers, that they can
break a wooden fence yes.
And we've had to do somerepairs and some reinforcements
and things like that.
But Steve had just called andsaid, hey, there's a Rottweiler
running around out in the front.
I was like, oh shit, and theygot out again.
So we paused and we run back tothe backyard and now both of

(01:09:01):
our Rottweilers are there, miraculously, I know, hanging
out, chilling, doing whatthey're supposed to be doing and
not breaking out.

Speaker 2 (01:09:07):
Yeah, but there's been times.

Speaker 1 (01:09:09):
Yeah, they have multiple times now.
We thought we lost one of thempermanently but he came back
somehow he did.
It's a very upsetting experience, very bad experience to have
it's scary for I hate to say,for me particularly but I have a
major love for my dogs.

(01:09:29):
I love my dogs, I love them andyou know it's like a family
member.
For me it's like losing afamily member.
I don't want to lose my dog.
That's my boy, that's my boy.
But anyways, we are at about anhour and ten in right now and

(01:09:53):
we haven't even talked about thebiggest thing we have to talk
about yet yeah we um have beenpondering this and thinking
about it for quite a while.
Marion used to do it at onepoint yes and we are looking to
get back into it and grow andpossibly become bigger.

Speaker 2 (01:10:18):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (01:10:19):
Just like everything right, you get into something.
You want to grow and get bigger.
But we think we are going to beout at the farmer's market very
soon.

Speaker 2 (01:10:30):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:10:32):
When I say very soon, we're probably talking about
October, November, becausethere's a process.
There's stuff that we need toget done, ordered by set up,
worked out, figured out, but weare going to restart Marion's
sandwich company.

Speaker 2 (01:10:52):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:10:53):
So Marion used to have a sandwich company.
She used to have a sandwichcompany.
She used to have a sandwichshop, a sandwich truck, a food
truck, yes, and she used to selldelicious sandwiches, anything
from a cubano to a grilledcheese, to uh, what else?

Speaker 2 (01:11:11):
like a regular turkey sandwich.

Speaker 1 (01:11:13):
Panes con pollo.

Speaker 2 (01:11:14):
Panes con pollo.
So my whole plan was I wantedit to be like a culture
experience, right Likesandwiches from different
regions, yeah.
Like I had a torta which waslike you know.

Speaker 1 (01:11:30):
We have to have one of those too.

Speaker 2 (01:11:31):
It's the Mexican staple right.
Of sandwiches, and then I had aSalvadorian sandwich, which is
a panas con pollo.
And then I had like a grilledcheese with mozzarella sauce.

Speaker 1 (01:11:46):
Mozzarella sauce.

Speaker 2 (01:11:47):
I mean right, mozzarella, not mozzarella.

Speaker 1 (01:11:51):
No.

Speaker 2 (01:11:51):
Marinara Sorry.

Speaker 1 (01:11:53):
Mozzarella is cheese, it is cheese.
I guess you could create amozzarella sauce, though, true.

Speaker 2 (01:11:58):
Cheese was made out of mozzarella cheese and then
with marinara sauce, and so Ijust want to hopefully get that
back up and running, and thenwe'll have some desserts too
Well it's not, hopefully.

Speaker 1 (01:12:12):
We're going to do it.
We've talked about it for a fewyears, actually, off and on,
but just recently we decided youknow what we want to dive in.
Yeah, we're gonna, we're gonna,we're gonna dive straight into
the deep end yeah so we're gonnaget our, our pop-up, our canopy
, our tables, all of ourmarketing, all of our logos, all
of our marketing, all of ourlogos, all of our materials.

(01:12:35):
You know everything, all theway down to napkins.

Speaker 2 (01:12:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:12:41):
Right Sandwich presses, heat units, cold units,
and we will be out at thefarmer's market soon.

Speaker 2 (01:12:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:12:48):
Selling just amazing.
I say gourmet sandwiches.
Right, we talked about this theother night too, about a
sandwich experience.
It's one thing to go into yourkitchen and make a peanut butter
and jelly.

Speaker 2 (01:13:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:13:05):
It's another thing to make a ham and cheese.
It's another thing to go toSubway, right, and then it's
another thing to go to a cafe ora restaurant that sells lunch,
that has, you know, decentsandwiches.
This is going to be all of thoseelevated yeah right, this is

(01:13:27):
going to be more of a gourmetposh and and we're not talking
about price uh, we're not rakingpeople.
We're not going to rake peopleover the coals.
We're not going to over, uh,we're not raking people.
We're not going to rake peopleover the coals.
We're not going to overpriceany of our things.
You know, we're doing itbecause we love it, yeah, and we
want to share it and experienceit and and you know, gives us
another thing to do, yet anotherthing to do, yeah, um, so we're

(01:13:50):
gonna, we're gonna be smokingour own briskets, smoking our
own meats, smoking our cheeses.
We'll have a brisket sandwichout there.
We'll have a few differentoptions on sandwiches and we
will sell out.
We're just going to.
I mean, that's not being cocky.

(01:14:11):
That's not being cocky, it's alevel of confidence in our
abilities and our product andeverything else.

Speaker 2 (01:14:23):
They will sell out.

Speaker 1 (01:14:24):
You know, the main two that are probably going to
sell out every time are going tobe the panas campoyo and the
brisket.
It's going to be hard to beatthose two.
Yeah, you know they're going tobe the panas campoyo, yeah, and
the brisket.
It's going to be hard to beatthose two.
Yeah, you know, um, they'regoing to be an experience.
You know, this is notstore-bought shit, it's not.
You know, there's going to be alot of craft and love and
preparation and, uh,everything's going to be

(01:14:46):
homemade yes, you know um fromthe slaw to the yeah, everything
homemade yeah.
Everything, yeah, Everything.
It's going to be an experience.
You know we have some nameswe're thinking about.
You know we got some names forsandwiches we're thinking about.
We're going to be workingprobably with Stacy soon on the

(01:15:09):
digital aspect and on themarketing and on the logos and
Menus, everything else aspectand on the marketing and on the
logos and everything else.
The print shop or quick quality, quick custom signs, or whoever
we'll be looking at for theprint shops out in Delano, they
do elevates, all of elevates, graphics and design and all of
their stuff.

(01:15:30):
So I had talked to them whenthey were here about canopies
and stuff like that.
They do everything.

Speaker 2 (01:15:37):
We have a guy here in town too that did our Beats
Over the City sign.

Speaker 1 (01:15:41):
Correct QCS, which I mentioned.

Speaker 2 (01:15:43):
Yeah, I heard Delano so I was like I didn't know what
it was called the print shop isDelano, quality Custom Signs is
Bakersfield.

Speaker 1 (01:15:52):
Okay, so yeah, we're going to be looking at doing
that and going from there.

Speaker 2 (01:16:00):
Yeah, it'll be a great, great new little venture.
We have so many.

Speaker 1 (01:16:05):
Yeah, we do.
You know I love doing newthings, I love the new challenge
, I love getting things andgrowing things and developing
things and watching them growand seeing them grow and develop
and the work behind it.
Of course, the money that comeswith it, but also the pain.

Speaker 2 (01:16:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:16:26):
You know, as morbid or strange as that may sound,
you know that's a part of theexperience.
Yeah, you know we were talking.
You know, if we're at thefarmer's market on Sundays and
we have weddings or Havana's oranything else on Fridays and
Saturdays, we're going to be acouple of tired motherfuckers.

Speaker 2 (01:16:45):
They are.

Speaker 1 (01:16:45):
You know we're going to have to smoke meat all night
until the next morning, you know, in certain situations, yeah,
you know, in certain situations.
You know, of course, I'm goingto have technology with my
smoker and everything and I'mgonna have bluetooth and it's
going to be networked to my, youknow, our house and our
infrastructure and you know, andI'll be able to monitor things
and do things remotely and I'mprobably be able to leave meat

(01:17:09):
on there, you know, letting it.

Speaker 2 (01:17:10):
you know, 250 for 14 hours or something right, yeah,
um you know what I'm excited for, what the pos system oh, like
clover, or square or somethingbecause I know you're gonna make
that so immaculate oh yeah, that's gonna be there's gonna be
five buttons.

Speaker 1 (01:17:29):
There's five sandwiches, five chips, five
drinks.
Keep it simple.
I want anybody that goes thereand, you know, eventually works
for us, because that will happenas well.
You know, a brick and mortar, whatever it may be, will
probably happen.
Yeah, I want it to be efficientfor anybody that comes in and
experiences us.

(01:17:50):
I want it to be efficientexperience for the customer and
I want it to be an efficientexperience for the employee.
So, yeah, we'll have all thatnailed down and figured out and
everything.
That's not a big deal.
That's going to be pretty easy.

Speaker 2 (01:18:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:18:05):
We'll have a little POS system, we'll have some
solar generators out therepowering everything, so
everything will be nice andquiet.
You know, professional, clean, quote unquote eco friendly.
If you're, you know, a bigperson about environmental stuff
, which you know I think we allneed to be somewhat.
You know we have, we have kidsand grandkids and things of that

(01:18:25):
nature that you know we have toleave a nice earth for so
little things that we can do the.
You know whether it be a solargenerator.
And then you know, then somebodyis going to be listening to
this podcast and they're goingto say you know how much lithium

(01:18:46):
ion it takes to dig up in theearth and how it's coming from
Africa.
And we're doing this to peopleand we're doing this to people.
Look, we're all trying our bestand if it's slightly better
than another method, then atleast we're progressing in the
right direction.
And as technology advances, youknow, hopefully the materials

(01:19:07):
and things of that nature thatare needed to be used for these
batteries or whatever else areminimal or negligible or, you
know, completely solar paneledor whatever it may be.

Speaker 2 (01:19:18):
But uh, but I guess you have to think about it in a
positive way, right, even thoughthey're digging up that stuff
in africa, it's a job well, butare these people getting
exploited, right?

Speaker 1 (01:19:31):
is it more of a slavery thing than it is a job
where we can support ourfamilies kind of comfortably,
right?
So that's where that part comesin.
You know, conflict diamonds, blood diamonds, you know, or
lithium, ion phosphate, whateverthese batteries are made of,
right?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, these phonesthat we have in our hands, and
you know these road casters andall of this technology, and you

(01:19:52):
know everything that thesebatteries in our hands and you
know these road casters and allof this technology, and you know
everything that these batteriesin our laptops and everything
else.
Obviously, it's all coming fromsomewhere and we're not
ignorant to that fact.

Speaker 2 (01:20:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:20:03):
And we're not turning blinds eyes, you know, to those
facts.
We're just doing the best wecan, you know.

Speaker 2 (01:20:10):
Yeah, wow, all right, all right, all right what all
right, what we're.

Speaker 1 (01:20:22):
An hour and 20 minutes in all, right, an hour
and 20 in.
We've been talking for a while,y'all, and uh, we appreciate
you guys tuning in and justkeeping up with us and you know
being interested in our lives.
You know being interested inour lives, you know if you are,
you know if you like the soapopera that the Baldrige
household is, you know, and allthe stuff that we're into and
everything else.

(01:20:43):
But, yeah, we're going to goahead and call it here, guys.
We appreciate you guys tuningin.
Again, it's an hour and a halfof your time that you know if
you're listening to itthroughout the day, or on your
lunch or on a break or whateverelse.
And you know, I hope you gotsome laughs out of it, I hope
you got some insight, I hope youknow some entertainment,

(01:21:04):
