I'm Wylie Sloane.
I'm your host and DM.

Kipo (00:04):
I'm Kipo and I play Alan Fizzard, the Mid Wizard.

Brad (00:08):
Hey, I'm Brad, and I play Gordon Ramshield.

Mimir (00:12):
I'm Mimir and I play Jared Vern Squirrel.

Wylie (00:16):
Hello, friend.
You're listening to Blundersand Dragons.
We are a comedy improvstorytelling podcast, and we use
Dungeons and Dragons actualplay to shape our story.
Basically, we're telling astory together and we use dice
to determine what happens andhow successful our characters
are at engaging with thosesituations.
We roll many different types ofdice, but as a rule, higher

(00:36):
rolls are closer to success andlower roles are closer to
failure.
If that's still confusing, don't worry, just listen and
enjoy the adventure, and we'lldo our best to explain what's
happening along the way and why.
We also plan to release anintro to DD episode at some
point to help you get thebasics.
But for now, please enjoyepisode one of our five-part
mini-series, That Thing WeFound.

Kipo (01:38):
I'm your host, Kipo.

Mimir (01:40):
I'm your host, Mimir.
I am not your host, Brad.

Wylie (01:47):
And this is our one shot that it does not have a name.
The name is the secret.
So by the time it is published,it will have a name, but at
this moment it does not.
So um I'm gonna give us alittle scene setting.
I'm gonna describe oursettings.
So first, imagine a blackscreen.
Then boom, we can see theentire planet of Nerthus as it

(02:10):
floats through space and circlesits nearest star.
It is a vibrant planet teemingwith life, except the north and
south poles, which are encasedin ice.
These barren plains andmonolithic peaks are so vast
they are visible even fromspace.
We can see the planet's frozenpinnacle etched against the inky

(02:32):
void of space beyond, as theAurora Borealis dances and
paints the sky.
As we gaze at this spectacularview, something bright and
dazzling skims across our fieldof vision and seems to disappear
behind the icy peaks with aplayful wink, hinting at the
mysteries hidden in theuninhabited wasteland.

(02:54):
As we zoom in from our view ofspace, we focus on the northern
pole of the planet Nerthus.
We see dark, sharp, jagged, icycliffs jutting out of the snow.
At the base of these cliffs areseveral dome-shaped biospheres
that comprise the CryozyteResearch Center.

(03:14):
This research center wasestablished by the League of
Incredibly Smart Dudes, anorganization of wizards, but
they call themselves ArcaneIntelligence, or AI.
Their goal is to investigatesome disruptions at the planet's
magnetic field, as well assearch for artifacts and
treasure.
The staff is mostly comprisedof wizards and artificers, but

(03:37):
there are other positions aswell.
So let's meet the staff.
Can you guys please roll forinitiative?

Mimir (03:48):
Using our characters?

Wylie (03:50):
Just just uh D20 is fine.
We don't need to add initiativeto it.
What do we got?

Mimir (03:55):
I've got a three.
13.
10.
Let's go.

Wylie (04:01):
All right, Mimir, please introduce us to your character.

Mimir (04:04):
Well, hello there.
My name is Jared Vern squerrel.
I'm the security guard.
I'm looking for trouble.
Um, it's been 150 days.
Uh and I keep a journal of umuh every hour of those 150 days,
and let me tell you right now,um, nothing's happened.

(04:27):
But I'm here and I'm lookingout.
Uh I'm a rogue.
Um, and uh my character is agnome, uh rock gnome, and he has
a blue uniform on.
He has uh uh arcane radio, uh,and he has a bunch of different
utility things like that.

(04:48):
Uh he's a mastermind rogue.
We're uh level five.
Um, and uh I got a keychainwith a bunch of these arcane uh
like keys.
Uh but I you know spent so muchtime here, still don't know uh
which key goes to which door.
So uh still trying to figurethat out.
Um, it's really cold, reallycold all the time.

(05:10):
So I have five differentjackets on.
Um, but uh I'm ready.
I'm ready for when things kickoff.

Wylie (05:19):
Awesome.
And where what room of the baseare you currently located in?

Mimir (05:25):
Well, uh, so I've been actually uh going through a
bunch of uh different rooms, butuh currently I'm in the I'm in
the storage room walking uh uhuh down and around uh to the
research lab.
Um and um I'm uh I'm headingtowards uh one of the lookout
towers that's all the wayoutside, but I'm meandering

(05:47):
because it is very cold outside, and I'm the only one that turns
on the heat out there, um, sono one else gets around there.
So yeah.

Wylie (05:58):
Yeah, you know that your associate, GNar, GNar Kolepsy,
um, who is a Goliath, um, beinga Goliath with a frost giant
heritage, he the cold reallydoesn't bother him that much.
And he really doesn't mindspending his time out in the
lookout tower.
So you do kind of leave that upto him, uh, even though he does
fall asleep quite frequently,uh and that can be a little bit

(06:21):
difficult being the lookout.

Mimir (06:22):
Um but I run him through drills and stuff every now and
again.
Um, I shoot uh arrows at thewindow, and uh 90% of the time
he's not awake, so uh it doesn'twork out.
Um and I would yell, but it isway too cold.
I can't get enough breath in mylungs.
But I like the indoor uhrotation that I do.

Wylie (06:44):
So and uh so GNar is also he's a Goliath Ranger and he is
also the animal handler, so hetakes care of the sled dogs here
on base as well.
And um, he, you know, you guysdon't use it very much.
You mostly stick to theresearch base.
Um, but when you do go out andabout and travel, um he does
help handle those.
So um you work pretty closelywith GNar Kolepsy.

(07:05):
Okay, who was our nextinitiative?
What was that, Kipo?
All right, tell us about yourcharacter.

Kipo (07:12):
What well um my name my name's Alan Fizzard.
I uh I've been working in thislab um for well just over 32
years, but but but um but um butbut uh but I retired uh j about

(07:33):
si six months ago.
So six months ago I retired anduh I um uh I was home for about
six months, and then my wife,oh my my sweet wife, uh Sandy,
my my sweet wife Sandy said, Youcannot stay here anymore, you

(07:58):
gotta go back to work.
So I she said uh maybe go backand ask if they'll take you
back.
Uh you just I can't have youaround the house uh a bunch.
Any anyways.
I so I'm back and I'm workingwith uh this young this young
fella here, um, uh sweet kid.
Uh I d I I haven't rememberedhis name at all.

(08:22):
Uh but he's a good he I thinkhe uh skateboards or something
like that.
Uh but he you you know thoseyouth.
They're they're just doing agood job, uh doing their best.
But but anyway, I yeah, I justum I'm I'm back in the lab um
just helping out where I can.
Everything's six months goneby, everything already changed.

(08:43):
I I can't figure out uh whatsome of these new uh devices do,
and but uh but I'm happy to behere.
I'm just I'm I'm just happy touh to be uh ke keeping keeping
busy.
If I you know, I've always I'vealways said if I if I just sit
down and do nothing, I'm justgonna die.
See you gotta keep mobile.

(09:08):
You just gotta keep working, you gotta keep uh keep on.
Uh and and yeah, that that's uhthat's me.
I I'm a half elf.
Uh I'm a wizard.
Um I've been doing a lot ofmagic for a long a long time.
Uh made a lot of good friends.
Made a lot of good friends.

(09:29):
So some some of them are deadnow, but but you know that's
just how life goes.
And so uh yeah, I'm uh if youif you would take a look at me,
well, at least when I walked outthe door this morning and give
and gave a wave and a kiss toSandy, I I have uh uh the equ

(09:52):
the equivalent of uh just slacon and make sure my shirt is
tucked in.
You gotta make sure your yourshirt is tucked in.
Don't you don't wanna beleaving any loose clothing while
you're working in the lab.
Uh that's one of the mainlessons that I've learned over
my time here.
That's me.

Wylie (10:12):
Okay.
And Alan Fizzard, would you saythat all of your time as a
wizard and a researcher, haveyou um really achieved greatness
in your time?
I mean, what kind of wizard areyou?
But what do the kids say?

Kipo (10:26):
Yeah, well, I mean I've I've dabbled and just I've seen
a lot, and then I've I've spenta lot of time uh practicing and
just doing the regular oldstuff, but I'm a transmutation
wizard uh by by trade, if if Icould pick anything, um or just
narrow it down to one.
Um but yeah.

Wylie (10:48):
Yeah, and um so where on the base are you currently?

Kipo (10:51):
I'm I'm in the lab.
Uh I'm just uh sitting in well, they got rid of my chair, and
and I'd it was a securityconcern.
I had this nice chair, but youknow, they replaced it with one
that's doesn't swivel anymoreand it's hard, but that's okay.

(11:11):
You know, I'd I've I asked Iasked uh the security guard if I
could bring a cushion in, andhe said I could.
So I've after he inspected it,he cut he did cut it open.

Mimir (11:23):
Gotta make sure you're not bringing it
in anythin illegal.

Kipo (11:26):
But I had Sandy sew it back together, and and so yeah,
I put the cushion on the chair, and that's where I'm sitting on
my chair right now, just kind ofwatching the young fella uh,
you know, do his stuff.
You know, if he needs help, I'mjust sitting here.

Wylie (11:38):
Yeah.
So the young fella, the fellowresearcher that works with you
in the lab, his name isJava Script.

Kipo (11:46):
Oh, yeah that's right.
Yes.

Java Script (11:49):
I'm from the Silicon Valley, and I'm a
halfing wizard, and I'm reallyexcited.
This is my first adventure.
Um it's very different here.
It's much colder.
And um, I I'm not so sureArcane Intelligence really
thought about that when theywere designing this place.
Some things seem to not work sogood.
Like uh, you have to eitherwalk through the biosphere to

(12:11):
get to the other rooms, or youhave to walk outside, and that's
really cold.
It uh mostly remains atnegative 30 most of the time.
So um I definitely don't leavethe research center pretty much
ever.

Wylie (12:24):
I pretty much stay inside all the time.
And uh JavaScript, as youmentioned, um, he is from
Silicone Valley, and so he likesto ride his longboard around in
the hallways.
That's really how he likes toget back and forth pretty
quickly between the differentbuildings because um, as we
know, the layout is not thatgreat.
And it can take a very longtime to get from one location to

(12:46):
the other, um, particularlybecause our research lab is way
across from the sleepingquarters and the rec room, and
you have to go all the waythrough our greenhouse biosphere
just to get to them.
Um, so JavaScript was reallyglad that he brought his uh
along board.
And as you guys know, um, asresearchers and um the staff

(13:07):
usually rotates every two weeks.
So for our Alaskans out there,it's similar to working up on
the slope.
Um, you work for a coupleweeks, you come home for weeks,
and another crew comes through.
Um, but Jared Vernsquerrelbeing newer has been on site for
the last three months.

Mimir (13:22):
I volunteered for extra hours.
Uh they don't pay me um forthose extra hours.
Um, but I do uh I I I also wantto mention that I did put up a
no skateboarding sign.
Uh and then it I crossed outskateboarding and put
longboarding uh because hecorrected me.
And so it's just a safetyconcern uh in the biomesphere

(13:45):
specifically.
So yeah.

Wylie (13:47):
It can get a little risky in the uh the biosphere.
Um so let's meet the last, well, not the last, the entire
last member was that, but thelast um player character of our
staff today.
Who do we have, Brad?

Brad (14:00):
Hello, my name is Gordon Ramshield.
Uh I am chef.
I uh yes, I am a barbarian, uh,but uh I try not to focus on
that anymore.
Uh yeah, let's not talk aboutmy best, please.
Um, but I am chef because itjust brings joy to my life.

(14:22):
Uh it's it's what I enjoy todo.
Uh it really relaxes me.
It uh makes me how you sayhappy, you know.
So yes, I I am uh a chef hereat the uh at this place.
Uh being a uh giant, Goliath,uh, you know, this my my

(14:48):
family's from here, right downthe road.
So I figured I would get a jobhere, and uh I love the cold.
It is nice, makes me feel verywarm inside.
I guess maybe very cold inside.
I don't know how to describeit.
This is not my first language.
Uh so yeah, so I I am chef.

(15:11):
I enjoy making different allkinds of food.
Uh, but specifically, my mygreatest my greatest achievement
uh in this is uh I I reallyenjoy to make uh macarons.
Uh macarons are you know somepeople say oh those are dainty,
those are small, those are likewomen should make those.

(15:34):
But let me tell you something.
You do not understand the sheerdifficulty when it comes to
macarons.
Because macarons, they arethey're very hard to make.
It takes very much a lot ofprecision.

(15:54):
It takes a lot of um how yousay, how you say uh patience.
Yes, it takes a lot ofpatience.
So yeah, so it it really calmsand relaxes me.
Uh I do have anger problemssometimes.

(16:15):
I maybe get a little too mad,uh, but I start thinking about
the recipe for my macarons, anduh it just really calms me.
Because I do not want to be uhmaybe how I used to be um when I
was younger.
So I try to uh just be a calmman, not resort to violence.

(16:40):
Um yeah, that's kind of uh whoI am and what I do.

Wylie (16:46):
Great.
And um what has made you themost angry at this point since
arriving at the research base onthis current rotation?
What what kind of things haveyou found frustrating so far?

Brad (17:03):
Well, sometimes uh I try to bring spices from my home,
uh, but then they got stuck atsecurity.
Um they thought it was drugs,uh, but I promise it is not
drugs, it just makes food tastebetter, okay?
And you want more.
But I cannot help it that maybeyou get addicted to the food.

Wylie (17:26):
Right?

Brad (17:27):
But I promise it is not drugs.

Wylie (17:29):
Really good food is intoxicating.

Brad (17:31):
Correct.
That is your own fault, not myfault.

Wylie (17:35):
If if we can't stop eating the chocolate chip
cookies, then yes, you know.

Brad (17:40):
You know what what kind of drug it is, I it's not a drug,
okay?

Wylie (17:45):
Um, and so where on the research base are you currently?

Brad (17:48):
I am currently in the kitchen cooking.

Wylie (17:51):
All right.
So those are our playercharacters.
Um we have two other NPCs thatlive and work on the base as
well.
We have Pyra Ember, who is atiefling, and she is our
demolitions expert.
Um, she has really helped umwith blasting through the ice
and snow to try to find the anduncover these wonderful

(18:12):
artifacts and treasures that wehope are buried up in the ice,
but you know, um, that's justbased on um arcane
intelligence's information.
So could be incorrect, we'renot sure.
Um and then we also have BeauJangles, who is our facilities
manager, and um he is a dwarvenfacilities manager, and so he um

(18:34):
controls the heating units, um,the air units, um, and when any
of the the doors stop working,he's supposed to work on that.
And he has a lot on his platebecause, as we said, our um
league of incredibly smart dudesfrom Silicon Valley did not
anticipate the difficulties of aprimarily negative 30 weather

(18:57):
environment.
Um, they were really planningum for these type of campuses
where it's very comfortable towalk outdoors and even bike
around.
So there is a pile of bikesthat are stuck in the storage
shed and they have beencompletely unused, um, partially
because Jared determined thatthey were too dangerous for use
inside.
And then, of course, they areum irrelevant to use outside in

(19:19):
the snow.
Um and uh unfortunately, Gordonwas a little bit confused.
He thought that this locationwas just down the road from his
home.
He did not realize until aftera few weeks after he had
teleported here that uh it wasin fact a very barren wasteland
with no inhabitants of any kindanywhere near.

(19:40):
So the only way to and from thebase essentially is via
teleportation.
Um, a plane shifter willdeliver the new staff every two
weeks and um rotate the otherstaff back out and take them
back home.
Um, so there's usually about aneight-hour layover while that
plane shifter restores theirplane shifting abilities and is

(20:01):
able to transport you and whilethe staff passes off information
between the two shifts.
Um, so that's howtransportation works.
And so you primarily don'treally leave the research base
except for to go to dig siteswhere you guys are looking for
artifacts.
And actually, JavaScript isextremely excited right now
because you have just discoveredan artifact.

(20:23):
Um, this artifact was strangelyfound just sitting on top of
the snow.
It was not buried at all.
Um, but he is in the lab rightnow with Alan Fizzard, and he is
extremely excited to talk toyou about this new artifact that
he found.
And I'm gonna put that up onour screen in just a second
here.
All right.

(20:46):
Oh, additionally, at theresearch base, um, there is an
automated robot that doescleaning.
Um, so you guys do hear thebuzz of the little automated
robot called Mops that isdriving around and cleaning, um,
handles, you know, most of thejanitorial services.
So um Bo Jangles does have to,you know, repair him when he

(21:07):
breaks, but Mops stands formagical omnidirectional
purification system.
And so he is essentially aroomba, but he also has mopping
functions and um drives aroundthe base and keeps it clean.
Um, particularly because um inthe center of the research base
we have our uh greenhouse, ourbig biosphere, that not only

(21:28):
contains um the vegetables andfruits that you guys are growing
to eat, but as well as achicken house.
And so um there are chickensthat live in there, and um Jared
definitely has to make surethat they stay within those are
the most dangerous things onthis thing right now.

Mimir (21:45):
That's where most of my it's literally RamShield or uh
the chickens that cause the mosttrouble.
And it's a 50-50 every singleday.
I keep telling Ramshield thathe doesn't live down the street
and he can't walk home, but uhhe he insists.
He gets lost.

Brad (22:06):
Listen, I tell you, home is literally five minutes down
the road, okay?

Mimir (22:10):
Not year two.

Brad (22:11):
I don't know why they make me wait.

Mimir (22:13):
We're literally playing down.

Brad (22:15):
They make me wait hours before I can leave to go home.
Like eight hours, but it's justdown the street, okay?
It's right around that hill.

Mimir (22:25):
Stop bringing spices in.

Wylie (22:29):
Every time you come back from home, you've got a new
spice.

Mimir (22:33):
I have a whole shelf locked in my like my gun closet.
It's all it's all spices.
There's no guns.
We can't carry them here.
Not trained yet.

Brad (22:43):
I tell you that it will make the food way better.
Okay?
It'll make it way better.

Wylie (22:50):
Um so back in the research lab, Java Script is um,
I don't know if can you guyssee it on the main page?
It brought up an image of thiscool artifact that has been
discovered.
Um and Java Script is reallythrilled about it.
And um he's been going on theradio.
You guys all have thesewalkie-talkie radios, they're
just short distance, so youcan't communicate with home or
anything.
Um, but he's been going on theradio and eagerly saying, uh

(23:14):
guys, we have a really cooldiscovery in the lab.

Java Script (23:16):
If you want to check it out, that thing we
found is super cool.
It's like a big jug withglowing arcade marks.
And I don't know what it doesyet, but once I figure it out,
it's gonna be awesome.
So if you want come, if youhave any ideas, you want to
check out this artifact.

Wylie (23:31):
It's really, really cool.
And uh then you hear Pyra umjump on the radio and she's
like, What are you doing?
That thing was found right onthe top of the snow.
It was probably trash.
Why do you think it wasancient?
We didn't even have to dig.
I didn't get to blow upanything to find this.
You think it's ancient?
I think it's brand new and justgarbage.

(23:52):
So she is not impressed.

Mimir (23:55):
This is Lieutenant Vern Squirrel.
Uh, I'm ahead in that directionright now.
Um, we're gonna do a securitysweep and make sure there's
nothing dangerous in the mug.
Um, and uh we'll get uh Gnar Kouh to make sure that he uh he
also takes a lookout on thelookout tower when he responds
in about an hour or two.

(24:17):
I'll have that direction.

Kipo (24:21):
Um Alan is uh walking up to Java and asking him if he can
help him turn his radio.

Java Script (24:31):
Oh sorry, right here.
You see this knob here?
You you gotta turn that.
You turn that.
And the more you turn it, thelouder it gets.
So we'll probably, I turn itall the way up for you so you
could hear it.

Kipo (24:41):
Oh, okay.
I just keep dead in my backpocket.

Java Script (24:45):
But don't don't sit on it.

Mimir (24:50):
Whoever's on the ring, if you get off the radio.

Java Script (24:53):
Please stop sitting on the when you when you hold
down the button, you'retransmitting, so you gotta don't
hold down the button.

Kipo (25:03):
I'll just I'll turn it off.
I I can hear yours.

Wylie (25:09):
Like any old man, he completely turns off his
communication device and doesn'tlisten to it.

Brad (25:16):
Uh Gordon's gonna head that way too.

Wylie (25:18):
Uh to the to the research lab?

Brad (25:21):
Yes, yes.
Uh he's gonna be like, oh, holdon.
That is probably spice from mycousin Olexi uh that he left.
Because remember, I live fiveminutes down the road, okay?
So it's he he said he was goingto leave it for me, so I was
I'll just come pick it up, okay?

Mimir (25:40):
Ramshield, no, I got that delivery.
I put it in my locker already.
And why are you heading to theresearch lab?
Get back in the lunch, it'slike 30 minutes.

Brad (25:52):
No, no, no.
I I come I come get it, okay?
It I promise it is from Olexi.
I uh I'm just like sweating.

Wylie (26:03):
Jared is really stressed.
This is the most action thatwe've had in a long time with a
foreign object being brought in.
It is in the lab, and there aresecurity precautions for when
strange and alien items arefound.
So um Java Script is very bythe book.
So he did follow thoseprotocols, but it is absolutely
scrap that young man.

Mimir (26:22):
Um I have a notepad uh and I'm just I'm just taking
notes of every single thingthat's been transmitted over the
radio.
And so literally it's pages ofpages of me talking to no one
because they're not responding.
Um and then it's a lot of likeside notes like on the margins
of Ram Shield is added again, you know, like who hired this

(26:46):
guy?
Does he actually live fiveminutes down the road?
I'm too lazy to go look, thingslike that.

Wylie (26:53):
And you've actually put in a requisition for a mage hand
to be the scribe for you.
Yeah.
That would be really helpful.

Mimir (26:59):
Yeah, it didn't come in.
Yeah, at this point.

Wylie (27:01):
It has not been delivered in the whole, you know, at the
at this point you requestedabout two months ago and it has
not shown up.

Mimir (27:07):
It's crazy that the spices show up, but the the
thing that I requested from ourbosses uh has not.
And I, you know, and I get it.
I understand, you know.

Brad (27:18):
So it's life.
It's the special delivery,okay?

Mimir (27:23):
I it all I can't believe Amazoon gets all the way out
here.

Wylie (27:29):
But the United Nerthus postal service.
It's it's it takes a long time.
We're very slow.
I heard Amazoon uses reindeer.

Mimir (27:39):
Yeah, that's really that's where the ticket is.

Wylie (27:43):
So in the midst of all this radio chatter, finally,
Beau Jangles is able to get in aword edgewise, and you hear his
voice come through.
Um attention, attention, aseverybody listen up.
This is real important now, right here.
As you all know, we've beenhaving some issues with our
heating system.

(28:03):
We do have a very minor leak inthe Arcanium reactor.
We are working hard to get thisreactor back online.
However, you may experiencesome our symptoms of arcanium
sickness.
The best thing to do is todrink some water, have a snack,
and breathe some of that freshcold air to clear your head.
Uh also, uh Kolepsy justinformed me that now might be a

(28:24):
pretty good time to go outsideand get some of that fresh air,
as it seems that something isapproaching our station from the
north.

Mimir (28:31):
All right, everybody, stay calm.
This is a red alert, red alert.
Let's get on active duty.

Kipo (28:37):
Alan is asleep in his chair.

Mimir (28:39):
Uh I'm I'm running to uh which lookout would that be?

Wylie (28:43):
Um, so just out in the front, so just outside of the
kennels, closer to lookout towertwo.

Mimir (28:47):
I got these binoculars uh that are kind of cracked um
because we have all oldequipment.
Uh and I I run out and I I takea look.
I'm looking out there.

Wylie (28:59):
Okay, you can give me a perception check.
Oh yeah, yeah.
But with disadvantage becauseyou have bad binoculars.

Mimir (29:04):
Binoculars?
No, that makes sense.
It's probably easier to lookwith my regular eyes than with
us.
Okay.
Nope, doesn't count.
Uh that is a 17.

Wylie (29:17):
A 17 with disadvantage.

Mimir (29:18):
Yes, with disadvantage.
I have a plus seven perception.

Wylie (29:21):
Wow.
So fortunately, you were smartenough to keep the um binoculars
in a cold place, like the mudroom, so that they acclimated
so they don't fog up soon as yougo outside.
Um, so as you run out, um, isdoes anybody else gonna go out
there?
Or is everyone else stayinginside at this point?

(29:42):
Everyone's inside.

Brad (29:43):
I'm trying to find the spice.
You're still going to theresearch.
I'm still trying to find thespice.

Wylie (29:48):
Um, so as you head out, you uh can see something that is
flying in the sky heading inyour direction towards your
base.

Mimir (29:59):
Okay.
Um I will uh take out do I havelike a flashlight or something
like that?

Wylie (30:04):
Yeah, you can definitely have a flashlight.

Mimir (30:06):
I'm gonna start uh uh like uh doing Morse code um to
it and seeing if uh it respondswith Morse code.

Wylie (30:13):
Okay.

Mimir (30:13):
Um and the Morse is just like, hey, what's up?
Um it has the um in there andit's like um you you are
trespassing maybe um things likethat.
Uh and then I'm gonna file areport um immediately after.

Wylie (30:35):
Um okay, as you do this, it does not respond.
It doesn't change course.
It seems to be getting closerand bigger.
And as the thing in the skygets bigger, you can also see
that something on the ground iscoming towards you as well.

Mimir (30:46):
Oh, okay.
So two different objects.
Cool, cool, cool.
Um, how big and how far arethey?

Wylie (30:52):
Um at this point, I'd say they're probably about a half
mile from you.
They're they're getting fairlyclose, but you can't really
distinguish more than there'skind of a bigger, bulkier black
thing in the sky and a smallerblack thing on the snow.

Mimir (31:06):
Okay.
Um I will head to Lookout TowerOne, where I think we have like
a uh telescope.
Okay.
Um, and so I'm gonna head uh inthat direction.

Wylie (31:16):
Lookout tower two is closer to your location.

Mimir (31:18):
Oh, yes.
Then I'll I'll do the lookouttower two.

Wylie (31:20):
Okay.
So you head to up to lookouttower two.

Mimir (31:23):
Yep, and I'll take the dog, uh the dogs.
Um the dogs.
All the whole I'll I'll I'lllink them up and I'll just kind
of be like, I'll link them upand I'll I'll get out there.
Because I think it's an it's anemergency.

Wylie (31:33):
Are they it is walking distance and it would take it?

Mimir (31:36):
Then I'll I'll run.
I have very short legs.

Wylie (31:38):
It's true, it's true, yeah.

Mimir (31:39):
But I can bonus action dash and action dash, uh, so I
will be doing that.

Wylie (31:43):
Okay.
And so I picture um I picturelittle Jared running and then
sliding and sliding.

Mimir (31:53):
Oh my goodness.
Oh gosh, it's the most workoutI've ever had.

Wylie (31:58):
Okay, so just as you get to the base of the lookout
tower, you're you're before yourun up the stairs, you you take
a look and you see a bright blueflash come from the flying
thing down towards the ground.

Mimir (32:10):
Sweet.
Is it in Morse code or is itjust one?

Wylie (32:13):
It's a single big flash.

Mimir (32:15):
I pull out my Morse code like handbook and I'm like,
single flash, single flash.

Wylie (32:20):
And you're like, is that a dot or is it a dash?

Mimir (32:22):
Yeah, and I was like, uh, I'll signal back and I'll be
like, uh, didn't get the fullmessage.
Uh please uh send uh sendagain.
Um and I'll just keep yeah, yeah.
Oh, there is, it's an E.
Um, and I'll be like, E.
Oh, and T is one.
E or T.
Okay, all right.

(32:43):
Um, and so then I started goingevery word with E or T uh to
start with.
And I'm like, okay.
Um Canadian.
Uh how close are they?

Wylie (32:54):
They're getting they're definitely getting closer.
They're now a quarter mileaway.

Mimir (32:56):
Oh boy.

Wylie (32:57):
They're pretty fast.

Mimir (32:58):
Okay, uh, I'll be like, all right, ladies and gentlemen,
I think we might be underattack.
This is no no drill.
Uh this is uh I lot hey um umPyra, I'm gonna need you to get
some demolitions ready uh justin case we need to defend the
facility.
Uh Beau Jangles, I need you tolock uh uh lock all the doors,

(33:21):
uh except for the rec room whereI can get back in, please.
Um and just uh go ahead andlock those uh everybody to your
uh uh uh lockdown uh situation, lockdown areas, lockdown areas.
Remember, follow the sign andthe training that we all have
had and we all know, okay.

Wylie (33:42):
What was that, Kipo?

Kipo (33:44):
What direction are they coming from?

Wylie (33:45):
Um where the dog kennels are, but south of the dog
kennels.
Yeah.

Mimir (33:50):
And um, I'll put up a map in a minute, but uh I'm gonna
climb up uh lookout tower tooand just get in there and see if
I can get a better look beforeI head back down.

Wylie (34:00):
Great.
That sounds good.
Um so uh you do hear Pyra comeback over the radio and she's
like, All right, let's get thisstuff together.
She's very brief.

Mimir (34:09):
She's the only one that responded.
She's the only one thatresponds.
Then you just hear from Alan.
I thought he turned off hisradio.
Java, can you make sure thatradio is off?
This is an emergency, allright?

Kipo (34:25):
What time is it?

Wylie (34:26):
Um in in game or in real life?
Yeah, I can yeah.
Oh, in game, it's it's probablyaround lunchtime.

Mimir (34:35):
Okay.
I also will uh it's it's what'shis Yeah, because we said it
was 30 minutes before lunchtime.

Wylie (34:41):
So yeah, it's like it's 11 30.

Mimir (34:44):
Um what's his name that my my cohort?

Wylie (34:47):
Um Um Oh GNar.

Mimir (34:50):
Yeah.

Wylie (34:50):
He's he's he's up in the tower, and once you get up to my
tower?
Yeah, cool.
And um he's he's you see himwatching with the binoculars,
and he's but he's sitting in achair, and he'll be watching the
binoculars, and then he kind ofslumps down and falls asleep.
So right now he's kind ofslumped over.

Java Script (35:10):
Wake up.
What do you see, GNar?
What?
What?
What what's going on?
There's a thing.
What thing?
What is it?
It's got me something outthere.
What is it?
Closer now.

Mimir (35:21):
I'm gonna get on the telescope because we have a
telescope in there.
I'm gonna see if I can seeexactly what it is.

Wylie (35:26):
Okay.
Um, give me, let's see.
What would be a good check forthat?
Give me like a dexterity checkto see if you can maneuver this
big because again, thistelescope was built by Slight of
Hand, maybe?
Um, alright.
You can use it.
I can argue with expertise.
It was built by humans and itis heavy.
So maybe strength checkhonestly would be better.

(35:46):
Just make sure that you canmanage it.
Because like we said, the uhthe League of Incredibly Smart
Dudes did not really they kindof built everything for humans.
And you've also noticed this asyou go around the base because
all of the key card panels aretoo high for you.
So high.
So you have to jump up everysingle time.

Mimir (36:01):
I usually carry a chair with me.
Um, like one of those stepstools.
It's his old step stool, and Iused it.

Wylie (36:07):
You confiscated it and now I confiscated it.

Mimir (36:10):
Now I use it.
So my chair?
Uh-huh.
It's the only chair.
Yeah, it's the only chairthat's high enough for me.

Wylie (36:18):
Because you can roll it around and you can raise it up.

Mimir (36:22):
Yeah, it's really nice.
Okay, uh, this would be astrength Check.
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
Six.

Wylie (36:29):
All right.

Mimir (36:30):
So you were lifting it and I like jump up and I'm like,
I've got my chair.

Wylie (36:34):
Oh no.
You're able to tip it up, butit actually like lifts you off
of the ground.
So now you're like dangling onthe end of it.
And then you're able to pull itback down, but now it's way up,
so it's not gonna be any helpto you at this point.

Mimir (36:45):
Uh okay.
Um Do we have like an emergencychannel that we uh can use?
On the walkie-talkies?
Yeah, just like an emergencylike uh if it like a place where
I can go back and like send outlike, hey, we're being
attacked.

Wylie (37:00):
Oh, like SOS to the uh like incredibly smart dudes.

Mimir (37:03):
To the mainland?

Wylie (37:04):
Yeah, but it would be back in the security office
because you know, and um theydon't communicate with you super
frequently.
Yeah.
Because it is a long distance, yeah, and um, you know, and then
nothing like this has everhappened before.
So if anybody was monitoringthat channel, they don't really
pay attention.

Mimir (37:20):
So uh I'm gonna be like, how about jangles?
I'm not sure what we got outhere, but they're coming pretty
quickly.
Uh we're gonna need uh maybe tosend out an SOS uh over the
main uh channel when you get achance.
If it's fixed, um, I knowthey've been working on it, it's
on the list.
So uh just let me know.
Uh we're gonna head backinside, I think.

(37:43):
Uh, and I'll wake up um Nar andI'll be like, we gotta get
going.
These things are coming tooquick for us.

Wylie (37:49):
Okay.
And so at this point, you cannow see if you look back out,
yeah, you can now see that thething on the ground looks like a
wolf or a sled dog.
It looks like a dog is runningon the ground or some kind of
four-legged creature like that, and it looks like a humanoid is
in the air.

Kipo (38:07):
Oh.

Mimir (38:08):
Oh, interesting.

Kipo (38:09):
Alan wakes up from his nap.
And he thinks that Java is hisboss now because he took his old
job.
And so he asks Java if he cantake his lunch break.

Wylie (38:27):
And Java has just been alternating, listening to the
radio with excitement, but alsohe's so excited about that thing
that he found, and he's justthrilled about it.
Um so he's just kind of like,oh yeah, whatever, man.
Yeah, take your lunch break.
I don't care.

Kipo (38:42):
Okay.
Alan grabs his little lunch boxthat Sandy made for him and uh
goes and sits right back down inthe same chair and just starts
eating a sandwich.

Wylie (38:54):
He's not even eating Gordon's lunch.

Kipo (38:56):
He's just Gordon walks in.

Wylie (38:59):
This is like almost a lot of things.

Brad (39:00):
And he's so disappointed.

Wylie (39:03):
It's a two-week old sandwich.
No! The good thing is they'rein it's a metal lunchbox and
they freeze quite easily.
So it's probably actuallyfrozen.

Mimir (39:12):
Sandy is so thoughtful.

Kipo (39:14):
Well, Sandy said uh no more carbs.
It's this weird bread now thatI'm it's not too bad, and you
take it every morning with myshot of apple cider vinegar.

Brad (39:25):
Hey you! What are you eating sandwich?
Uh I have fresh food in the inthe kitchen.

Kipo (39:32):
Well, Sandy says that it's uh that it's important uh for
me to get a well balanced lunch.
Um and and I really appreciateher making this for me, so I
gotta eat all of it.
Uh if I come back and there'sany in the lunch box, she'll
she'll she'll get on me.
You she'll get on me about thatone.

(39:53):
Uh but I'm sure your your foodis really good.
Uh uh I I think you make theselittle colorful cookies, and
I've I've tried one of thosethings before and it was okay.
Well, okay.

Brad (40:08):
Let's see about this.
So you eat frozen sandwich, andyou think that this is better
than fresh cookie or fresh foodin general.

Kipo (40:20):
I I'm just trying to do what my wife tells me to do.

Mimir (40:23):
Over the radio, you hear there's a flying guy with uh
some kind of big dog and thingslike that.
Uh I'm gonna need assistance.
We gotta get out of this losingnow.

Brad (40:34):
Uh, it's nothing to worry about.
You say flying dog?
It's just it's just my cousinOlexay.
He's he's coming with morespice.
It's fine.

Wylie (40:45):
And uh Java's in the same room.
So he's been listening to thisand he's like, um uh uh your
cousin can fly.

Brad (40:54):
Uh yes.
He was bitten by a bat as achild.
And so he uh he can fly now.

Java Script (41:02):
Okay.
Um well maybe you should go outand meet him then.
You know, because it soundslike Jared's real upset, and you
know, we don't want him to likeshoot him or anything.

Mimir (41:11):
I'm locking and loaded over here.
I've got the hand crossbow outand ready.
I'm gonna try diplomatic, butif it doesn't if he doesn't
answer my next Morse code, thenhe's locking loaded.

Brad (41:24):
Oh, I'll I'll say uh yeah, he he goes.
He goes because he's like, oh,maybe that's where the spice is
at.
So I'll I'll go I'll go meethim at the front.

Mimir (41:34):
Did any of the doors lock?
Because I told him that it hadto lock all the doors.

Wylie (41:38):
Yeah, so you had radioed Bo Jangles, and finally you hear
what seems like Bo Janglescoming back on, and you just
hear and you all you hear issneezing.
And so you're not really sure.

Mimir (41:52):
Not the arcane sickness.
I go, Oh no, we're down, it'sover, it's all over, we're
doomed, everybody.
It's fight for yourselves.
I start panicking.

Wylie (42:10):
All right, so um we've Gordon is gonna come outside.
Yep.
And um what does Alan do goesback to sleep?

Kipo (42:20):
Um are the doors to the lab locked?
I heard that there was alockdown.

Wylie (42:26):
So Jared asked for one, but nothing.
I mean, they're closed becausethey don't let the cold.
They don't they don't let thecold are in, but it's not
locked.
Okay, so uh you could easily umthe the most direct route for
you, you could either go outsidethe research lab and walk
outside for a while, or youcould cross through the garden
biosphere down through the deither the sleeping quarters or
the rec room and out from uhprobably the rec room or the mud

(42:49):
room is the most direct way.

Kipo (42:50):
So So Alan Alan sees mops go across the doorway outside of
the lab uh as he's kind ofpacking up his lunch, and it
makes him jump, and he thinksthat's what all the commotion is

(43:12):
about.

Wylie (43:13):
He forgot that we have a robot.

Kipo (43:15):
And so he goes, Oh, is this what this is all about?
And so he gets up and he grabs,he's had um a pole, just like a
wood stick that's in the cornerof the lab that has been there
for 40 years, probably.
Uh and so he just grabs thepole and he starts walking
towards Mops with the intentionof like poking it and flipping

(43:36):
it uh over or something likethat.

Wylie (43:38):
Okay, okay.

Kipo (43:39):
Yep.

Wylie (43:39):
And um, so Mops is leaving the research lab, or you
you saw Mops kind of goingthrough the biosphere as it
passed the doors, the doorspopped open because security's
not good.
And um, so that kind of leadsyou into the lab.
Um, let's see, what checkshould you make?
Um can you make a dexteritycheck to see if you can hit

(44:00):
mops?

Kipo (44:01):
18.

Wylie (44:02):
You um hit mops and um you actually you accidentally
hit the um high power button.
And so mops goes and it takesoff outside.
Um it was heading towards thedog kennels.
Um so that's where he takesoff, is towards the dog kennels.

(44:23):
So you can follow him.

Kipo (44:24):
Alan starts running after well, he doesn't run, but he's
like shuffling a little, he'sgoing a little bit quicker.
Uh but he has to make sure hepicks up this the stick.

Wylie (44:32):
The stick, yes.
He grabs the stick.
Uh way, guys.

Kipo (44:36):
Oh god, oh handle it.

Mimir (44:39):
I'll handle it.
Look how you just said that toan empty room.
I'll handle it.

Kipo (44:47):
There's literally no.
He talks to himself frequently.
Yes.

Wylie (44:52):
Okay.
Um.
Alright, so we're gonna put, let's see, I'm gonna put our
characters out on the map.
Um, and I just realized wedon't have character art for
Alan Fizzard.
Sorry.
That's okay.
I will um hang on.
Not yet.
Yeah.
That's your job.
Breach pause, and I will addthe character art real quick.

(45:17):
One second.
We'll use a temp one for Alan.
Okay, I'm putting yourcharacters on right now, and
we'll resize them, but I'mleaving them bigger.

Mimir (45:28):
Holy smokes, Fizzard's a stud.
That's the most attractive guyI've ever seen in my life.

Wylie (45:35):
That's actually something I made for Winter's Crest.
The um the campaign that Kippodid at Christmas time.
So um, you hang on.
It should be on a differentscreen now.
That's primarily a whitebackground.
Yeah, maybe try reloading.
So you guys can see eachother's character art for the
first time.
Um, we've got Jared Vernsklerl.

(45:56):
We have a temporary stand-infor Alan Fizzard.
Yep, sounds good.
Um, and you know, honestly, Idon't know why Sandy was sending
him out to the base.

Mimir (46:04):
Yeah, seriously, pretty cool guy.
He's a stud.

Wylie (46:10):
And uh then we've got Gordon.
And so that location, kind ofright by the rocks, um, is gonna
represent the entrance to thebase.
Okay.
I'm gonna make our characters alittle smaller because a bigger
map.
So feel free to zoom in.

Mimir (46:27):
I see both of these guys come outdoors, and I'm like,
What's the chef?

Wylie (46:35):
Where's my pyra?
And you're pretty sure that BoJangles could handle himself in
a fight.
And you're like, Pyra could atleast blow some people up, and
that's not you know who who iscoming out the door right now.

Mimir (46:48):
I've never seen you like rage or anything like that.
I've seen you get angry, butI'm like, oh, he just has like
tempered tantrum.
Yeah.
And then you, I think, like, Ithink the highest of you.
Like, I have such a high, like,because I'm like, I call you
when I when I talk to you, Icall you Dr.
Fizzard.
You have two doctorates.

(47:09):
Like, I think you're thesmartest guy in the world
because you've been here for solong.
I read all of your old notesand stuff that you used to have.
I have a book of just your oldnotes.
Um, most is gibberish, but Ijust am like, oh yeah, this
guy's a legend.
So when you come out with yourstuff chasing mops, yeah, I'm

(47:30):
like, yes.
We're saved.
I've got a picture of him.

Wylie (47:35):
So scene, we are outside the research base.
Alan Fizzard, Gordon Ramshield, and Jared Varn Squirrel are
outside the base.
Um GNar Kolepsy is still up inthe uh lookout tower.
Um Jared, are you in thelookout tower?
Or are you?

Mimir (47:51):
No, I'll head down.
Do I see both of these guyscome out?

Wylie (47:54):
Yeah, you probably see them come out the door.

Mimir (47:56):
And Mops.
Um maybe running for its life.

Wylie (48:01):
Stumbling around in the snow.
You gotta see it do a bigU-turn and actually like head
back towards the dog kennelbecause Mops is not supposed to
be outside.
It will freeze very quickly.
So it's realized that it hasgone too aggressively outside of
its zone and is heading backin.

Mimir (48:14):
I see uh Alan come out and I go, Oh, Dr.
Fizard, oh, you're here, you'rehere to help.
All right, hey, Ramshield, whatare you doing out here?

Brad (48:25):
Where'd that robot go?
I'm just coming to meet Olixay.
He should have my spice.

Mimir (48:29):
Oh, this guy, you know this guy?

Brad (48:31):
Well, actually, quick question.
This guy is flying, right?
Okay, okay.
Is when he the way in which heis flying, how is he flying?
Is it just like on the line, straight?
Like just like yeah, just kindof Superman like flying.

Wylie (48:46):
So he's kind of um stand-up flying.
Um, so he's standing up and um,but flying kind of
straightforward, sort of like aalmost like a creepy vampire
would fly.
Um and he's not, but he's notlike he's kind of like wobbling
all of like this does not seemlike the most efficient way to
fly.
It seems like he's not thatgood at flying.
Um, and the dog is running onthe snow ahead of him.

(49:09):
And now that you guys are assoon as you all kind of come
outside, you see this wizard, you can tell that it's kind of a
stocky humanoid, but you can'tsee like facial stuff super
well.
It's a little bit far still.
Um, but you see another greatbig blast of lightning come out
from this flying humanoidtowards the dog that is running

(49:30):
across the ice towards you.

Mimir (49:34):
T-E.
You know this guy?

Brad (49:39):
Yeah, on the sorry.
Oh yes, this this is Alex A.
Uh he doesn't fly straight.
He he's like a bat where he'sall over the place.
So, yeah, I'm pretty sure thisis all right.
You're related to a bat?
No, no, he got bit by a bat,and now he flies like a bat.
So when he flies, it is kind ofweird.

(50:02):
I just I'm like, what?

Mimir (50:05):
Like, I'm speechless.
At that point, I'm like, huh.

Brad (50:08):
Yeah, he's just bringing spice, although the lightning
thing is new.

Mimir (50:11):
I um can I do I uh was there any scheduled like
delivery or Amazoon was cominganytime soon?

Wylie (50:25):
Everything that comes is um like teleported because it is
not practical for anybody tofly all the way up to where you
guys you are very far from anyinhabited, you're at the most
northern point of the earth, andyou have not seen Santa Claus
or anything similar to thatbefore.

Mimir (50:40):
That was on my list of asking if I if it was Santa
Claus.

Wylie (50:45):
Literally the first life forums that you guys have seen,
and you know that there areother research bases up here
because you know there's otherpeople who are competing with
the arcane intelligence, but umyou have never met any of them.
And so um at this point, thedog is getting pretty close to
you guys.
He's he's running, he lookslike you can kind of tell ears
tucked, tail tucked, the dog isabout to reach you guys.

Mimir (51:05):
One of our dogs?

Wylie (51:06):
Um it doesn't, I mean, all the dogs kind of look the
same, um, probably generally toyou.
Um, but it doesn't you don'tthink it's necessarily your dog.
I mean, as far as it's not fromall like somebody it took like
boarded in and then like is No,I think that you would have
knowledge that all the dogs wereinside because you're very, you
know, as you're secure, youprobably took like take I took

(51:29):
every hour.

Mimir (51:30):
It's a long walk.
It's a long, it's weird.
But it's a long walk.

Wylie (51:35):
As part of your rounds, you walk through the kennels and
make sure all the dogs are inthere okay until uh okay.

Mimir (51:42):
Um I'm gonna just shout out to them.
Uh and I'll be like, all right, guys, I'll handle this.
Hello!

Wylie (51:53):
To the to the farmer person.
I'm just gonna say, hello.
Mm-hmm.
Um so the dog is right up infront of you guys.
It comes up and it run like itprobably runs towards Gordon,
who smells the most delicious, and it kind of jumps up, like
paws on his chest, just likelike a dog that's excited but
also scared, and it c tucksbehind you guys.

(52:15):
And you can um give me aperception check, everybody.

Mimir (52:20):
Uh D20?
20.
That's a natural 19.
11 26.

Wylie (52:28):
26.
11, 26, 2, 2.
All right.

Mimir (52:32):
Which checks out.

Wylie (52:33):
So Alan is like, oh, what a cute dog.
I'm 14.
14.
14?
I forgot.
That's a little better.
Okay.
Um, so you how do you respondto a dog jumping up on you?
But you can kind of tellsomething's not right.
This is not like just a happy, sweet dog coming to say hi.

Mimir (52:50):
I'm just like, um hello, Slovaka.
How's it going?
What is wrong?
Is this your dog?

Brad (52:58):
No, I I do not have dog.
Who's like nice code?

Mimir (53:02):
Who's Slovaka?

Brad (53:04):
So no, Slovaka, dog.
It's the same different words.

Mimir (53:08):
Yeah, I don't speak that language.

Brad (53:09):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Mimir (53:10):
I speak five different languages, don't speak that one.

Brad (53:13):
Yeah, yeah.
So Slovaka, it just means dog.

Wylie (53:16):
And Jared, you had a pretty high role.
Yeah, 26.
20 with the 26, you can seethat the wizard is preparing to
cast another lightning boltspell.

Mimir (53:25):
At us?

Wylie (53:26):
At the dog, which is right in front of you guys.
And um, I don't know if you umknow uh you if Jared would know
a lot about the lightning boltspell, but he's been he's been
seeing it cast.

Mimir (53:36):
Yeah, can I make an arcana check?
Sure.
Uh that's uh nine.

Wylie (53:45):
Okay.
Um, I mean it that you see bluelightning forming in his hands.
And he you've you've seen himfiring this.
Yeah.
And you saw it as a beam.
It wasn't just like like alittle beuw! It was like a big
beam.

Mimir (54:01):
Uh I'm gonna I'm gonna be like, I'm gonna stand in front
of them.
Um because I don't know whatthe spell is.
And so I'm gonna stand in astraight line in front of them.
Um, and I'm gonna be like, excuse me, Mr.
Wizard, uh, one second.
I'll handle this.
Um, I'm gonna need you to uhhalt all aggression.

(54:22):
Um we're gonna need to have youfill out some paperwork.
I pull out some paperwork in myback pocket.
Uh just fill out a couple ofthese visitor forms and voila,
we'll get you right as rain.
Okay, let's roll forinitiative.

Brad (54:35):
Can uh can I first see if uh perception-wise, can Gordon
tell if it is his cousin Olox C?

Wylie (54:42):
Um, what did you roll?

Brad (54:44):
First I did a 14.

Wylie (54:45):
Oh, a 14?
Okay, with a 14, you could tellyou don't recognize this in the
case.
Okay, okay.
Yeah, he's not he familiar.

Brad (54:52):
I'm just like, hello guys, uh, this is not my cousin.
I don't know who this man is.
It's too late for that.

Mimir (54:57):
I stood in front of you.
I thought this was your cousin.
In my brain, I'm just likeracking, like, is he does he
live right down the street?
Like what the heck?

Brad (55:14):
Alright, I have a 19.

Wylie (55:16):
19 for Gordon.
Eight.
And eight for Alan.

Mimir (55:24):
Uh five.
Looking for the pen.
Yeah.

Wylie (55:33):
Okay.
Jaren.
Okay.
Um, the dog is currently tuckedbehind you guys.
Um and the wizard is preparinga spell.
Um, Jared tried to intervene, tried to persuade.
Um, I will let you roll apersuasion check if you would

(55:53):
like.

Mimir (55:53):
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
Um, persuasion is I'm so goodat that.
Okay, so I rolled a two minusone.
So on uh unnatural one.

Wylie (56:10):
An unnatural one.

Mimir (56:11):
It's a dirty one out here.

Wylie (56:12):
All right, so that wizard does not stop and he casts the
lightning bolt spell.

Mimir (56:17):
He doesn't want to fill out paperwork the first
time he's at this base.

Wylie (56:21):
So a stroke of lightning a hundred foot long and five
feet wide blasts straightforward from him in that
direction.
Um, so each of you, let's see, each of you in line with the
dog.
So Jared Gordon and the dog aregonna need to make a dexterity
saving throw.

unknown (56:41):
Okay.

Brad (56:44):
For the D20?
Yes.

Wylie (56:46):
And then you can add your deck save modifiers.

Brad (56:50):
I have an unnatural 20.

Wylie (56:53):
Nice.

Mimir (56:54):
An 11 for me.

Wylie (56:56):
An eleven.

Mimir (56:59):
Um, but I will use uncanny dodge as a reaction.

Wylie (57:03):
Oh great, great, awesome.

Mimir (57:04):
Oh no, I can't use that.
Sorry.
That's if I level up more,which we won't.
It's a different ability.
I always get confused.

Java Script (57:13):
And I'm gonna go for the dog.

Wylie (57:17):
Okay.
Okay, um, so okay, fortunately.
Alright.
Um fortunately, you all areonly taking half damage.
The dog is out of the way, um,and but this is gonna be a lot

(57:41):
of d6.
There's a nice dice sounds.
Okay.
I am sorry guys, I rolledpretty good.
Um, so we have Wait, I savedwith an 11?
Mm-hmm.
Wow.
It was a low, it was a low DC,but you still take half.
Um, so hang on.

(58:02):
Total damage.
Six, twelve, fourteen, eighteen, twenty two, twenty th
uh, twenty-four.
So half of twenty-four.
So twelve lightning damage.

Mimir (58:20):
That's the half?

Wylie (58:21):
That's the half.
Okay, so a blast of lightningcomes from this flying figure.
You guys all get hit.
Um, the dog also gets hit, butis okay um because he took half,
and um, you hear the dog yelp, and he flees, and he follows the

(58:43):
door that Mop's left openinside the base to the dog
kennels.
Um okay, and so now, Gordon, you are up next.

Brad (58:53):
Okay.
Um so the thing about Gordon isthat he is actually a pacifist
now.
And so uh the the one problemwe have here is how to um I have
no idea what his uh yeah, Ihave a plus one on charisma, so

(59:14):
we'll see how this goes.
But um he's he's a littleperturbed that this guy is uh
you know trying to hurt thisdog.
Um but he's trying to workthrough his anger management,
you know.
And so he you know, through allthe training that he's been
trying to go through and youknow grow as an individual, so

(59:37):
he's going to uh look at thisguy and say, whoa, whoa, whoa,
buddy, can you please calm down?
Let's talk this out.
What is happening here?
Can we uh can we just talk manto man?
Alright?
Can we please?

Wylie (59:53):
Uh you're saying that to the wizard.

Brad (59:55):
Yes.

Wylie (59:56):
Uh he's not responding to you.
I mean he's he's flying in theair and he's still Um, I mean
because you know it's yourinitiative
order he not technically moving, but he's he's still just
continuing to come towards thebase.
Okay, he's not really makingeye contact with you, not
responding.

Brad (01:00:10):
Okay.
So what uh two things.
One, I think for how far awaybecause what if I see on the
map, right, he's still a goodways away.
I say a good ways away.

Wylie (01:00:22):
Like I can see him, but you can see him and he would be
in range for any um distanceweapons.

Brad (01:00:30):
So I think what what Gordon would do in this moment
is he he doesn't want to uh hedoesn't want to be that man that
he was before.
So so he is working at, youknow, just not you know going
off the cuff and just raging.

(01:00:51):
So he's actually just gonna notwhat is it?
Are you uh your turn?

Wylie (01:00:58):
Oh, you're gonna delay your initiative?
Yes.
Are you gonna hold a specificaction or you just want to delay
your initiative?

Mimir (01:01:04):
I just delayed now.

Wylie (01:01:05):
Uh you want to speak?

Mimir (01:01:06):
Yeah, okay.

Wylie (01:01:08):
I'm gonna be like, get inside quick! We're gonna lock
down the facility.
This guy is crazy.
Okay.
Um so Gordon, you're gonna holdat this point.
Okay.

Brad (01:01:20):
I'll still hold where I am, but not yeah, I'm not gonna
do anything yet.

Wylie (01:01:24):
Okay, okay.
Um, Alan, you're up next.

Kipo (01:01:26):
Alan sees the lightning hit everybody.
Um, and he was fumbling, uh,putting on his leather gloves
that Sandy gave him becausefrostbite.
Uh, because he's outside.
So he jumps back and drops oneof the gloves, but he has one
on.
Um they're very special glovesto him.

(01:01:47):
And uh he just looks up atwhere the lightning came from,
sees the finally sees the guyfloating in the air.
Um, and casts hold person.
He's within 60 feet, I'mguessing.
At least from what I can seehere.
510, 15, 20, 20, 50, 30, 50, 5050.

Wylie (01:02:08):
Okay.

Kipo (01:02:08):
Okay.

Wylie (01:02:09):
And so do it does he get a save against that?

Kipo (01:02:12):
Yeah, you have to succeed a wisdom saving throw.

Wylie (01:02:14):
Okay, wisdom saving throw.
Alright.
Okay.
He definitely fails.
That was a four.

Mimir (01:02:26):
Yep.
Okay.

Wylie (01:02:28):
Alright, so you cast hold person.
Yes.
And he is up there in the sky,and so he immediately plummets
from the sky, falls to the earthin a snowbank, or you know,
it's pretty.
If you guys have been outnegative 30, it's pretty hard
ice.
That is not a soft ground.
That's like falling ontoconcrete.

(01:02:49):
So he comes crashing down ontothe ground.
Um.
Yep.
Okay.

Kipo (01:02:57):
So he's paralyzed until the end of his turn.
He can do another wisdom savingthrow.

unknown (01:03:03):
Okay.

Wylie (01:03:03):
At the end of his next turn?
Yep.
Alright.
Uh, and next up is Jared.

Mimir (01:03:12):
Um, that changes the game a little bit.
I'm gonna be like, oh, thisguy.
All right.
Um, so I'm going to scissor.
You know, I'm like, I look toyou and I'm like, you're a real
hero.
I knew I could use you as abackup.
You see my stupid.
Um, I take out my uh crossbow,I load it, uh, and then I'm
gonna rush towards thisindividual.

(01:03:33):
Um, and I'm gonna uh bonusaction uh dash to get up there,
uh up to 50 feet, up to that, and I'm gonna hold uh the
crossbow out in front of me,shaking, and I'm gonna be like,
you're under arrest uh forattacking the chef and myself.
Um please don't move.

(01:03:54):
Um I'm a hero.
Um and then I'm gonna put themin handcuffs, uh is what I'm
gonna attempt to do.

Wylie (01:04:05):
Okay.

Mimir (01:04:05):
Um if I have like zip ties or whatever.

Wylie (01:04:08):
Okay, yeah.
Um so yeah, you run up andapproach the body, the the the
you know, it's laying on theground, and um the it looks
paralyzed.
Um and so you go to put onhandcuffs and you find his left
wrist and you snap yourhandcuffed on it, and you go for
the right wrist, and there'snot a hand there.

Mimir (01:04:30):
Oh.
Um I'm gonna just handcuff himto me.
I'm gonna be like, you're underarrest.
Oh, okay.
Um you're not going anywhere,Buster.
Uh and I'll handcuff him to me.
Uh and I'll put away mycrossbow.
Um and I'm gonna startsearching him awkwardly because

(01:04:51):
one of my hands is nowhandcuffed to this individual.
Um, does he have any weapons oranything on him?

Wylie (01:04:56):
Um, as you search him, no.
And he is he's dressed like aresearcher.

Mimir (01:05:00):
Oh, okay.

Wylie (01:05:00):
Um, so now that you get a close look at him, we can look
at the character art a bitbigger.
Um so he is like his eyes arecompletely vacant at this point.
Like, you suspect he might bedead?
You're like that, this seemslike I mean, he fell pretty hard

(01:05:22):
onto some pretty high ground.
And so um, as why don't yougive me, I know you're pretty
good at investigation, why don'tyou give me an investigation
track?
Okay.

Mimir (01:05:30):
Yeah, definitely I can do that.
Ooh.
Uh I have uh expertise in it,so uh that's a 24.
Oh I'm really good at twothings, and that's investigation
and perception, and that's it.

Wylie (01:05:50):
Okay.
Um, so you can tell that he isa Duergar, which is um a race of
dwarves that typically liveunderground, and they're known
um for their massive cities thatare in the underdark.
Yeah.
Um, but you can tell that he'swearing researcher clothes.
He's clearly a researcher.
Um, as you can see by thepicture, um, he's got a lab coat

(01:06:10):
and stuff, and he definitelyappears to be a wizard based on
the spells, the lightning boltspell, and that's a wizard
spell.
Um, so you're like, definitelyseems like a wizard, and from
but not from our base.
You know, he's he's definitely,as in all of the hundred and
plus days that you've been atthis base not leaving, even with
the rotating cruise every twoweeks, you have not ever seen
this individual work herebefore.

Mimir (01:06:32):
Is he dead?

Wylie (01:06:33):
He seems to be.
And well, with thatinvestigation check, yeah, he's
dead.

Mimir (01:06:36):
Okay, he's dead.
So he fell and like Fizzardkilled him.

Wylie (01:06:41):
Um you can determine how you want to break that news to
Fizzard.

Mimir (01:06:45):
I don't know if Fizzard has ever killed anybody before.
Can I make like a medicinecheck to stabilize him, maybe?

Wylie (01:06:51):
You can try, but it's very cold and he fell very hard.

Mimir (01:06:56):
No, that makes sense.

Wylie (01:06:57):
You can try.
You can always try.

Mimir (01:06:59):
Always trying.
I'm going to try a medicinecheck.
16.
Fails.
Okay.
Um I'm gonna be like, uh, I'mgonna yell really loud.
I'm gonna be like, oh no, he'sattacking me.
He's reaching for my crossbow.
And I'll just bap him, bap himonce, because I could never
break, I could never break thenews.

(01:07:20):
Uh, and I'll shoot him once.
Um just through the neck.
Um so there's that.

Wylie (01:07:29):
Okay.
Um is he and he's stillhandcuffed to you.
Yep.

Mimir (01:07:32):
And I'm gonna be like, don't worry, everybody.
I've taken down uh the enemy.
Um I'm gonna be like, excuseme, chef, could you help me out?
I can't lift him.

Brad (01:07:48):
Gordon walks up and he's like, oh no, you didn't have to
kill him.
We could have just Tied him upor something.

Mimir (01:07:54):
I it's my bad.
Um he was reaching for myweapon.
Good job, Jared.
Thank you, Dr.
Wizard.
Um, and I'll be like, the keyto the handcuffs are back in the
office, so I'm gonna need youto carry both of us.
Gordon picks up the body, andyou're just like strong, like

(01:08:18):
just like does he have um likethat uh in the picture I see,
but I don't know if that's superaccurate.
Um does he have like thatjournal on him or no?
Does he not have anything onhim?

Wylie (01:08:30):
No, he actually doesn't, yeah, he doesn't even have a
staff or anything.
Like that's kind of those extraaccroutments, like he maybe has
some pens.
I'll take all the pens.
I need extra.
And um at this point, Pyra runsout and she's like, What can I
blow up?
Where is it?
And she's like, the the fuelshed was locked.
And she like glares at you.
So here's the thing the onlydoor in this place that's

(01:08:54):
locked, and it's to my stuff.

Mimir (01:08:56):
That's my bad.
Um I'm handcuffed to a deadbody, so we'll get back to you
on that one.

Wylie (01:09:01):
So nothing, nothing for me to blow up now.

Mimir (01:09:04):
It's a false alarm, I'll call it a false alarm.
Oh, we've dealt, I've dealtwith the situation, and um and
you don't have to worry aboutanything.
Uh everybody can go back tonormal.
You can unlock all the doors,um, and uh go back to normal
situation.
We're we're gonna interrogate adead person, I think.
Interrogate a dead person.

Brad (01:09:26):
Uh don't worry, he killed an unarmed man.

Mimir (01:09:29):
It's not true.
That's not true.
Um he was reaching for mycrossbow, I swear.
Gosh, I'm sweating.

Brad (01:09:39):
He must have reached with his one good hand.

Mimir (01:09:43):
Yeah, three.
He only has one hand.
Oh gosh.
I start filling out a report.

Wylie (01:09:49):
You start filling out a report while you're going in.

Mimir (01:09:52):
While we're walking in and he's hanging.
I'm filling out a report, but Iam telling that I am in the
report, I am putting the truththat Fizzard killed this
individual.
And then I, it's all truthful.
And then I pretended to killhim because I couldn't break the
news of Fizzard.

Wylie (01:10:08):
Don't even say, like, I shot him first with the crossbow
and then killed him.
It was like completely.

Mimir (01:10:14):
And then I shot a dead body.
Um, and then I'm handcuffed andbeing carried by the chef.
So yeah.

Wylie (01:10:20):
All right, so we're gonna switch back to our view of the
base um as we navigate through.
Um, as you guys come up to thedog kennels, um Gore or um GNar
says, Hey, um, what what do youwant me to do with this guy?
And he points to the dog, andthe dog is really happy now, and

(01:10:40):
he's wiggling and wagging histail, and he like seems like
really happy to be with youguys.
And oh, we can make we can Isit just the dog?
Um, that's that's what he'sdoing.

Mimir (01:10:49):
Or like, does the dog have anything on it or anything?

Wylie (01:10:52):
Um, you can investigate and see.
Yeah.

Mimir (01:10:54):
Um, can you lower me towards the dog, please?
I'm still here.
I'm trying to try to make sureit's playing okay.
Uh I'll actually be like, uh,can you search the dog?
Let me know what you find.
Um and tell Nar to do this?
Yeah.
Which I know it's not gonna bedone.
So um just add him to thekennels, um, feed him, make sure

(01:11:18):
he's all taken care of andeverything, okay?
Okay.
I gotta unhandcuff myself to adead body, so that's kind of
what I'm working on right now,Nar.

Wylie (01:11:26):
So this is what the dog book is, but he does not have
all this gear.
He the dog just has a collar.

Mimir (01:11:30):
Okay.

Wylie (01:11:30):
Um, and so GNar is able to find a collar.
Oh good.
He's like, that that he's like, where where do things on dogs?
The collar.
And um GNar's like, um, he'sgot collar, but um uh uh, I
don't know what this says.
So somebody want to read it.

Mimir (01:11:48):
Yeah, I could I could uh look at it since he's not
picking me back up.

Wylie (01:11:57):
So the dog's collar says that the dog's name is Finn.
Kind of looks like my dog Finn.
And um, so the dog's name isFinn, and then on the dog
collar, it also says IstidJokul, which you know is another
research center up here.

Brad (01:12:19):
Can you say the name of that research?

Wylie (01:12:21):
Istid Jokul.
And I'll even let's see if Ican put that in a text.
Oh, I can spell it for you ifyou want.
I-S T I D J O K U L.
Istid Jokul

Mimir (01:12:41):
I did not spell thats right the first time.
I was two letters away.
Classic D D notes.
Classic.

Wylie (01:12:47):
Alright, so um GNar is gonna go take the dog and get
him settled in the kennels whereit's nice and warm.
And you guys are heading, uh,where are the keys?

Mimir (01:12:54):
Uh they're in my office, which uh is probably the storage
room?
Yeah, the storage room.
Where in that's the only doorthat's currently locked.
Okay.
Yeah.
Um that and the explosives.

Wylie (01:13:07):
Um the explosives are outside in the fuel shed.

Mimir (01:13:09):
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
So yeah.
They're in a fully filled room.

Wylie (01:13:13):
Okay.
So I've loaded an image of theuh storage room.
Cool.
Just for fun, but we'reprobably not gonna be in there
all that long.

Mimir (01:13:20):
Uh I grab the key from the storage room, unlock it, uh,
and I'll be like.
So I'm walking in with you.
Yeah, yeah.
I'm gonna be like, you've donea great service this day.
I want you to know that.

Brad (01:13:32):
You're welcome.
Um actually, while while we'rein there, um, I'm actually gonna
try to persuade this guy to letme have my spices.

Mimir (01:13:44):
My spices.
Well, what I'm gonna do next islook at the body.
So you probably couldstealthily do it if you want to
try to stealthily like uh lookfor the spices or something.

Kipo (01:13:53):
Trying to see if I like what would your personality do?
Yeah.

Brad (01:13:59):
I would probably still persuade, but I would probably
be grabbing it as I'm talking.
Like, yeah, if you don't mind,I would like to actually get my
spice.
It's uh I have a very specialdish.
Uh in light of everything goingon today, I I will make my
mother's homemade pierogi, whichwill be fantastic.
But I need the specific spice.

Mimir (01:14:19):
You only can have one spice, alright?
Oh, okay.
And this is as long as yourrotation, alright?
So only one spice per rotation, okay?
One spice for rotation.

Wylie (01:14:31):
One spice every two weeks.

Mimir (01:14:33):
Every two weeks, you get one spice.

Brad (01:14:35):
Well, well, this one actually calls for two spices.

unknown (01:14:39):
Hmm.

Brad (01:14:41):
This one calls for two spices.

Wylie (01:14:46):
If Jared is acknowledging that they're spices, is he
still worried that they'redrugs?
Um, why would he be withholdingspices?
Um is he fearful that the umsewage system will get backed up
if everybody is eating too muchdelicious Food?

Mimir (01:14:58):
I think that's kind of the the idea is like, I don't
know what's in these spices.
I'm not like a chef oranything, so I don't know if
they're actually drugs or not.
Um, but they always set off thebeeper.

Wylie (01:15:11):
You know?

Mimir (01:15:12):
And so I'm like, ooh.

Brad (01:15:16):
Um I'd be like, one spice.
Uh so can I like rollpersuasion?

Wylie (01:15:23):
Um it we usually don't roll player versus player.

Mimir (01:15:26):
Oh, okay.
Okay.
I did roll it for my, and Irolled an 18, so that's why I
stuck to my guns there.

Wylie (01:15:32):
It would be, yeah, because it's not really fair to
force a player to do somethingthat they wouldn't do.
But he did say one spice, andso you could accept one spice
and take a few more.
Yes.
Because you feel like he'sdistracted and you're like, oh,
which one?
And he's focusing on the body, probably.

Brad (01:15:46):
Okay, I I will only take one today.
But I take as many as possiblein my hand, but enough where I'm
not too, you know, with himbeing distracted enough to get
like probably about three orfour.

Wylie (01:15:59):
Okay.
Why don't you roll a sight ofhand and you roll a perception
with disadvantages?

Mimir (01:16:04):
Would it go off of my passive perception?

Wylie (01:16:06):
I think you're distracted.

Mimir (01:16:08):
Okay.

Wylie (01:16:08):
So I think we should roll because um it's a disadvantage.
Because you're you're really Iwas I assume you're pretty
interested in this body.

Mimir (01:16:16):
Yes, I'm gonna do, yeah, I'm doing a health.

Wylie (01:16:17):
You don't, you're probably kind of like, I don't
even care about spices rightnow.

Mimir (01:16:22):
Okay.
All right.

Wylie (01:16:24):
And so you're doing a sleight of hand.
Is that a two?

Brad (01:16:29):
It's a two plus uh plus two.
It's a four.
I got twenty-four.

Wylie (01:16:35):
Oh my goodness.

Brad (01:16:36):
Yeah.

Wylie (01:16:36):
So he can just tell by he doesn't even have to look at
you.
He can hear.
Uh uh.
You're not even looking at him.
You're just focused on thebody, and you're like, one
spice.

Brad (01:16:49):
I'm trying to find the right.
Yeah, okay, Mr.
The one right spice.
My bad.
My bad.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.

Wylie (01:16:56):
All right.
And do you leave or are yougonna hang out and watch him
investigate this body?

Mimir (01:17:01):
He also can't move.
I'm bloody.
Like, I'm like, half my healthis gone.

Brad (01:17:07):
He would probably stick around just to just to like be
of help.

Wylie (01:17:11):
Okay, okay.
Um, so you already did a prettygood investigation on the body.
You don't find anythingdifferent.

Mimir (01:17:17):
Can I look at it as like, is this wound that he has?
Was that like something he wasborn with?
Or is it like something that hehis arm got chopped off?
Or something?

Wylie (01:17:27):
It looks very fresh.

Mimir (01:17:28):
Oh, okay.
Um, so I'm going to um maybetie I'm gonna tie up the body um
because I don't know likenecromancy stuff.
You know, I'm doing all of theguidebook things.
Um and so I tie up the bodywith a rope.

Wylie (01:17:43):
Do you consult your manual?

Mimir (01:17:45):
Yeah, 100%.
Yeah, fully.

Wylie (01:17:47):
And you're like, where's the chapter of what to do with
the dead body?

Mimir (01:17:50):
Flying wizard uh that dies off impact.
Um and so yeah, so I'm gonnaI'm gonna be like, uh that.
Do we have a radio signal tothe other base?
Like, no.

Wylie (01:18:04):
Okay.

Mimir (01:18:05):
So we would have to travel out there.

Wylie (01:18:06):
You would have to travel.
How far away is that?
Um, um, so let me I I think itwould be fine if you know.
You don't need to consultanyone else.
You would know.
Let me see.
If you consult, um no, youwould probably know, because
you're you're really seriousabout security and you want to
know where everybody else is.

(01:18:26):
Um, so you know that it is aresearch center that is one hour
north of you by dog sled.
Okay.
And that makes sense becausethey came from the north.
Um, so you heard that.
So um it'll take you one hourto get there.
Um and you also know that itwas founded by the Dwarven
Gnomish Alliance, okay, which isrock gnomes and dwarves.

(01:18:48):
Okay.
And so the fact that this is aduergar makes makes sense
because um, particularly becauseof their experience with
subterranean kingdoms and theunderdark and stuff like that,
um, and digging and constructionand surviving.
So it completely makes sense.
Um, so you would also know thatyou guys have eight sled dogs,
which means that you can pulltwo sleds carrying two humanoids

(01:19:08):
each.
So a total of four individualscan go to this research base if
you feel like a mission isnecessary.
So that would potentially meanthe three of you plus one NPC
could join you.
Um and while we're talkingabout the dogs, let's just get a
little, you know, let's be umintroduced to our dogs real
quick in the dog kennel.

(01:19:29):
So we're gonna go to our dogkennel map.

Mimir (01:19:45):
I know you're coming.
And then I know you have tocome because we need food on the
roads.
I'm trying to figure out whyyou're coming, to be honest.
I need to keep an eye on you soyou don't steal all my spice.
Oh, it's your spice now.
It is.

Kipo (01:20:04):
Maybe Joe Cool uh kitchen has spices I can take.

Brad (01:20:11):
Um actually, my my uncle, I think, works there every time.
I mean, there's always a familymember.
He's actually a part of themob.

Wylie (01:20:22):
Um so the list of our dogs is we have Bucky, Ravi,
Oli, Skibbi, Rizzler, Porridge,Parmesan, and Sir Gorgeous
Fluffington- Aloysius-Capernaum.
But you guys just call him GoodBoy George.

Brad (01:20:39):
Good boy George.
Where's Ohio?

Wylie (01:20:44):
Um, that's in the United States, which is not on this
planet.
As this is Earth, as that isEarth and this is Nerthus.
So very different.
So this is your dog lineup thatyou have of your total of eight
dogs, four per sled.
Um, it sounded like you werepretty worried about
Beau Jangles.
Do you want to go check on him?

Mimir (01:21:04):
I'm gonna, I'm gonna uh we're gonna leave the body here
wrapped up.

Wylie (01:21:09):
In in the fuel shed.

Mimir (01:21:10):
Yeah, in the fuel shed.

Wylie (01:21:11):
Okay, I'm gonna go put him in the fuel shed on our maps
real quick.
Oh, sorry, dog.

Mimir (01:21:15):
Or the the storage side.
Storage side where my officeis.

Wylie (01:21:18):
Um I love that I did not make you an office.

Mimir (01:21:21):
No, I created the office in the storage because they
didn't have to be.

Wylie (01:21:27):
They're like, aren't the lookout towers good enough?

Mimir (01:21:29):
And I'm like, no, please.
Um, that body's way too big.
Let's go.
What am I gonna do here?
Um a couple of things is is itnight time?
What oh, it's it's noon, right?
It's noon.
Okay, well we should eat.

Wylie (01:21:44):
And if you want more um, you know, info, you could
probably consult Java aboutweather conditions, things like
that.
Yeah.

Mimir (01:21:51):
I think I think I'll I'll do two things.
Um I'm gonna be like food readyfor lunch so we can discuss
over Yes, yes.

Brad (01:22:01):
I I have delicious pierogi made for you guys.

Mimir (01:22:05):
You know, you may cause the most trouble in the station,
um, besides the events today.
Um, but let me tell you, youmake great food.

Brad (01:22:15):
Oh, thank you very, very much.
I appreciate it.

Mimir (01:22:17):
Even without the spices.

Brad (01:22:19):
No, but but the spices just take it to the top.
It it makes it to 11, you know, out of 10.

Mimir (01:22:26):
That's what I'm afraid of.
Um I'm gonna be like, uh, we'llmeet you out there.
Um Doctor uh Fizzard, um, wouldyou be okay accompanying us to
this um research station outhere?

Kipo (01:22:42):
Um Well, I haven't had a spice since 2008.

Mimir (01:22:46):
That's not what I'm talking about, Doctor.

Kipo (01:22:49):
Need you to focus.

Mimir (01:22:50):
Need you to focus here.

Kipo (01:22:52):
Oh, yes.
Oh, I'm I'm just happy to helpout wherever you need me.
Looks like Ga java is gonnahave it all locked down in in
the lab.
Um, so if I I'd love a littlefield trip.

Mimir (01:23:05):
Okay, great.
Um, I'm gonna go check on BoJangles and see if he's alive.
Uh, because he was sneezinglast time over the radio and he
hasn't responded since.
Um, and then I'm gonna tellGNar to be like, um, but could
you start getting the dogsready?
Um, and just get I real quick, this is just gonna bother me.

(01:23:28):
Did the dog bite off thisdude's arm?
I just gotta know.
It was there bite marks on thisdude when I was checking out
the body.

Wylie (01:23:37):
Yeah, you investigated the body pretty good.
So no.
It was there was no teethmarks.

Mimir (01:23:40):
I just didn't want to leave the base with a dog that's
killer.
Um, that's kind of my onlyconcern.

Wylie (01:23:46):
It more looked like the entire hand had been ripped off.

Mimir (01:23:50):
Great.
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
Cool.
Um, I'm gonna check in with BoJangles and see if he.

unknown (01:23:55):
Okay.

Wylie (01:23:56):
Um, so as you're you guys he was kind of heading towards
the kitchen to have lunch ready.
So as you guys were kind ofwalking that way, um, you see Bo
Jangles coming on in, you know, for to the kitchen for some
lunch.
So he's he's heading back in.

Mimir (01:24:10):
Uh I'm just gonna like stand up uh because everybody's
here kind of now, right?

Wylie (01:24:14):
Yeah, you can you can say everybody assembled in the
kitchen.

Mimir (01:24:17):
I'm gonna make an announcement.
I'm gonna be like, all right, ladies and gentlemen, um we have
a pretty serious uh thing goingon here.
Um would you mind to stand up,please?
No, I am standing up.
Oh, can you bring my stoolover?
Uh and I over the stool, andthen I Is it my chair?
Yeah.

(01:24:37):
It's my chair.
I climb on, you won't remember.
Uh I climb on the stool, um thechair, and then I I make this
announcement.
I'm gonna be like, all right, everybody.
Um so we were under attack umrecently.
Uh we're gonna take.
And I did not get to blow upanything.

(01:24:59):
No, but we are gonna take you,Pyra.
I think.

Brad (01:25:02):
Um and just for the record, it was not my cousin
Oleg Zay.

Mimir (01:25:06):
It was not anybody in his family that we know of.
Um, because he could be adoptedor something, you never know.

Brad (01:25:13):
Uh I I I don't think so.

Wylie (01:25:14):
You have a lot of family.
Beau Jangles is eating and notreally paying attention.
He's like, well, thats a relief.

Mimir (01:25:21):
Um, and I'll be like, um, so I will be uh Nar will be in
charge of the security systemswhile we are gone.
Um, and we'll be uh taking umuh if Dr.
Fizzard, uh if you have a sayin this, but um if you want to
come with and Pyra, um, andwe'll be taking uh Gordon uh

(01:25:43):
because he has the most family.
Um, and so there's just a50-50% chance if his family
members are gonna be there ornot.

Brad (01:25:50):
So yeah, they they will probably be there.

Mimir (01:25:54):
Um but Pyra, we're gonna take you uh in case we need to
blow a hole into their securitysystem and things like that.
So I bring lots of dynamite onit.
Yes, more dynamite than ever.
Oh, maybe my uncle Boris willbe there.

Wylie (01:26:09):
Can we have dinner with your family?

Mimir (01:26:11):
Of course.
Um, I make that announcement.
Um and then I siddle up next toFizzard.
I'm gonna be like, Dr.
Fizzard, and I'll go.
Alright, Doc, I don't knowwhat's gonna happen here.
I'm really concerned.
I'm sure everything should justwork out just fine.

(01:26:32):
The guy's arm, like his handwas fully missing from his body.

Kipo (01:26:36):
You know, that reminds me of a friend I used to have.
He of course he's take notes.
He's dead.
He's dead now, but he wasmissing a part of his knee.
Okay.
And he, you know, he made itwork.

Mimir (01:26:57):
This guy's dead.
Like he's he's dead, Dr.
Fizzard.
Like, I shot him.
Just like a low like tear, justlike I can't bring myself to
lie to Dr.
Fizzard.
Um so yeah, uh, can we takelike a short rest or something?

Wylie (01:27:12):
So, your characters can take a short rest.

Mimir (01:27:15):
Cool.

Wylie (01:27:15):
Um, at the same time, I would like each of you to um
give me a cons send me privatelya constitution saving throw as
well as a D100 roll.

Brad (01:27:28):
That's my cocaine.
It's the drugs.

Wylie (01:27:32):
Um, and if you can type that through messaging so that
it reminds private.
Or you can send me an email ifthat's easier.
All right, so we're havinglunch.
We're taking a short rest.
Feel free to roll any of yourhealth die that you would like.
I think um Jared is on oh, someof you guys you took some half

(01:27:53):
damage too, didn't you, Gordon?
Um so feel free to take theopportunity to restore your
health.
You know, I'll even say youdon't even have to use up your
hit die.
I'll say with the rest plus umthe food and everything.
I'm gonna say you guys getrestored to full health.

Brad (01:28:09):
Oh, sweet.
Cool.
Nice.
I like that.

Wylie (01:28:12):
Yeah, we can save those hit die for later.
So it seems like we'vedetermined that we're going to
the Istid Jokul Research Center.
Um, Pyra is going, as well asJared, Alan, and um Gordon.
And um, and you guys areprepping the dogs and getting

(01:28:34):
ready to go.
Yeah.

Java Script (01:28:34):
And so as you're getting ready to go, um, Java
lets you know um hey, I've beenconsulting the weather reports
and there is a storm in cabbage.
So the stormb is due to hithere in about five hours.
It'll take about one hour to getthere.

Mimir (01:28:53):
Okay.

Java Script (01:28:53):
Uh another hour to get back.
Easy.
So maybe we'll just spend abouttwo hours at the base.
Okay.

Mimir (01:29:00):
I'll touch him on the shoulder and I'll be like, I'm
so proud of you.
You're a hero.

Java Script (01:29:06):
And uh Java looks a little like nobody's nobody's
ever told me that before.

Mimir (01:29:13):
That's tough.
Uh I'll touch him on theshoulder again.
I'll be like, um, what aboutthe vase that we picked up?
You can get any information onthat.

Java Script (01:29:21):
That thing we found?

Mimir (01:29:22):
Yeah.

Java Script (01:29:23):
It's pretty cool, isn't it?

Mimir (01:29:25):
I don't know what it is.

Java Script (01:29:26):
Uh I don't either yet.
But I'm gonna investigate thewhole time you're gone.

Mimir (01:29:31):
Yeah.
When I get back, I want you,the hero, to get that vase uh
done, alright?
And make a full report.
Here's the and I pull out 20pages.
Um, and I'm like, this is thearcane report that the wizards
want us to do.
You know, I but I made somephotocopies of some extras and
things like that, okay?
All right.

Java Script (01:29:52):
If you find any interesting research, you bring
it back to for me, okay?

Mimir (01:29:56):
I will.
If if Pyra doesn't blow it up,I will.

Java Script (01:30:00):
Because because maybe they know at the other
base.
Maybe they've been findingthese things all over the place.
Or maybe they have a log thatcould help me uh interpret these
hieroglyphs.

Mimir (01:30:10):
Those were a lot of words.
And I'm proud of you.

Java Script (01:30:14):
Hieroglyphs means markings that are like words.

Mimir (01:30:19):
And I'm just gonna leave the conversation halfway through
him talking to me.

Wylie (01:30:24):
And as you as you walk away, um Java, who is um a
halfling and does live for quitesome time as well, is like,
wow, I've I'm 50 years old andno one ever told me.

Java Script (01:30:38):
I'm a hero.

Mimir (01:30:40):
Everyone's a hero in their own story.
Um uh cool.
Um I will make sure everythingis set.
Um I will leave um GNar.
Uh he has all the keys, also,I'm guessing.
Um so I don't have to leave anykeys with him.

Wylie (01:30:58):
Um, plus most of the doors are never locked ever.

Mimir (01:31:00):
Yep, yeah.
Um and I'm gonna make sure uhhe fills out a report, a couple
of reports on uh every hour thatwe're gone.
Um and I'm gonna make sure thathe fills out a bunch of
reports, which he will not do.
Um so I've already made reportsuh already written up.
Um and just checking on thearcane thing, um, uh making sure

(01:31:21):
that leak is not that big of adeal and things like that.
Um and just yeah, just makingsure that everything is uh
kosher and um yeah, making sureeverything's all alright and
keeping ready.

Wylie (01:31:35):
K trying to get it all locked down before you go.

Mimir (01:31:37):
Yep.

Wylie (01:31:38):
Cool.
All right.
Okay, so we're gonna take offtowards the base.
So you've got the dogs allharnessed up and you're ready to
go.

Brad (01:31:47):
Uh Gordon has packed just a bunch of snacks and food,
being the chef, you know, hasbrought, you know, kind of like
your um, you got your uh roadsnacks, you know, for a road
trip.
That's that's what Gordon hasdone.
He's made tons of macarons.
Uh just out of the stress oftoday, he just really has to

(01:32:07):
take the time to just like destress.
And so he's made probably likeover a hundred macarons just in
a big, you know, sack.
Um, and you know, some nuts anduh like kind of trail mix too,
he's bringing along.
So yeah.
Great.

Wylie (01:32:24):
Awesome.
Uh what does Alan do to preparefor this journey?

Kipo (01:32:27):
Yeah, Alan for the last half hour at least has just been
putting on layers and and likesat in the sled way too many
minutes before anyone else waseven outside.

Wylie (01:32:44):
He's been sitting there under the blankets, his hands
are folded, he's just waiting.

Kipo (01:32:48):
And he's got on like just the dumbest looking jacket with
like a hood, and it's allscrunched up, so all he can see
is like a little bit out of hiseyes.
And he's just he's like doingthis.

Wylie (01:33:00):
Was he reading a book while he was waiting there?
Reading a book.
No, just staring.

Mimir (01:33:04):
No, just staring.
Just waiting.
He got there five minutes.
It took him five minutes to puton the later layers, but then
it's 25 minutes of him sitting.

unknown (01:33:16):
so good.

Kipo (01:33:17):
So that's all he did to prepare was uh just put all of
his uh his layers on and he justwants to be warm and he brought
absolutely nothing else.
It's just that, like not evenhis uh well, his lunch is empty
now.
He did eat all that.
Um but not a stick.
He put that back in the cornerwhere it's supposed to be.
And that's it.

Wylie (01:33:38):
Awesome.
Great.

Brad (01:33:40):
Um also Gordon brings a frying pan that's just like one
of his like you you never know, like people's uh like the cast
iron frying pans.
Because like people's areseasoned differently, so he's
always gonna have it with him.
You know, it's like it'sspecial and he takes it
everywhere with him.
So they're going somewhereelse, and even if he cooks

(01:34:01):
there, he's gotta make sure he'sgot his uh frying pan.

Wylie (01:34:05):
Yeah, yeah, because um Gordon knows that like often the
way to peace is to cook forother people.
Right.
And so he thinks that maybe hecan make some new friends over
there, cook them some dinner, use their spices, bring their
spices back.

Mimir (01:34:17):
We're so screwed.

Brad (01:34:19):
I'm doing it.
It is all about connections, all right?
Yeah.

Wylie (01:34:24):
All right.
Um, so can you guys give me agroup nature check to see how
well you drive the dogs?
You are not bringing GNAR withyou.
So Yep.

Brad (01:34:33):
Nature, okay.
That's D20.

Wylie (01:34:36):
Yeah, plus Nature.
Roll a D20.

Brad (01:34:38):
Or do I do a nature plus nature?

Wylie (01:34:40):
Yeah, roll a d20 plus your nature.

Brad (01:34:43):
Okay.
Do you need me to go ahead andsay it?

Mimir (01:34:51):
Yeah, what have you got?

Brad (01:34:52):
I got a 12.
12 or 13.

Wylie (01:34:54):
Okay.
That's not too bad.
Um actually, so the um the sixwas the bare minimum for just
getting there in one hour.
So you would hire a roll.
Um, I don't think she has anynature.
Oh, no.
Um, maybe she does.
Uh she's uh artifice ortiefling, so it's uh I don't

(01:35:15):
even know where that is onthere.
But that's okay.
Yeah, you guys you passed toget the normal time.
So you did not make it extrafast, but you make it there in
an hour.
The dogs get tangled once ortwice.
Um, and Jared gets them moretangled.
Um, but with you guys umhelping out, you're able to get
them untangled enough tocontinue and and make it there
in a reasonable amount of timewithout driving them too hard.

(01:35:37):
So um we now um we will findout what you find at Istid Jakul
