We have two entire campaigns, four seasons coming soon.
Wylie (01:07):
This is episode four.
Um, you guys, I'll just do alittle summary of what happened
last time.
Um, last time you went andinvestigated the Istid Jokul
research base, and you found alot of weird stuff.
Um, and some strange thingshappened, and then you finally
headed back to your own basesafely without any combat.
(01:29):
Really strange.
Everyone (01:31):
So um board and rang
show effect.
He's just being very passive.
Everybody's friendly.
Yeah, Garns.
Everyone.
Yeah, even Jerry.
Mimir (01:41):
Everybody's family.
Brad (01:42):
Even Jimmy.
Mimir (01:46):
And Buddy.
Buddy.
Yeah, buddy.
Yeah Buddy.
Wylie (01:50):
So, in the midst of uh
investigating the research base,
you found out that for theirfood, instead of having a
biosphere with a garden andchickens and stuff like you guys
have, they actually burroweddown into the earth and found um
they they found mushrooms androot vegetables and all these
kind of cool stuff in the caverndown there.
(02:12):
And so Jerry was an interestingmushroom creature that Gordon
immediately befriended.
Um and then you guys actuallydid find the rest of the staff
down there too.
But everything was a bit weird.
Brad (02:27):
Minus what's his name?
Argo.
Yeah, aggro.
Yeah.
Jared (02:31):
So there was a little
nice one.
Wylie (02:35):
So there was a little
gnome, a little gnome lady, and
um six Duergar dwarves um withher as well.
And you guys definitely feltuncomfortable about them.
Um, but you left.
And so you got outside, uh,Jerry freaked out because of the
(02:55):
cold.
You guys murdered Jerry.
Mimir (02:59):
No, uh no, because didn't
he grow back legs and stuff?
Wylie (03:03):
Yeah, his legs did keep
moving.
So there was many parts ofJerry, I guess, by the time that
you left.
So you don't know if he livedor died, but you did leave him
out in the negative 30 cold, which he did not seem to like.
Jared (03:15):
Yeah.
I yeah.
He just we couldn't afford himon Payroll.
Wylie (03:20):
So So now you guys are
racing back against the storm um
to make it to your base, um, toyour own Arctic research base.
Um, what clues are you bringingback with you, do you remember?
Mimir (03:34):
I draw my pen.
Wylie (03:36):
You did get a very cool
knife.
Jared (03:38):
I did, I got a sword.
Wylie (03:40):
Mm-hmm.
Jared (03:40):
Or a knife, fire knife.
Wylie (03:42):
The steampunk monarch
dragon blade.
So that's it.
And I did send you the statsfor that.
Jared (03:49):
Ooh, statsy.
I shared it with you.
Should I read that LM?
Wylie (03:55):
You can if you want.
I think I don't remember what Iput in there.
Mimir (03:59):
Oh.
Let's see if I can find ithere.
We got tentacle legs.
Kipo (04:05):
Alan got some whiskey.
Wylie (04:08):
That was not a clue.
That was just from Pyra.
Mimir (04:11):
Yeah.
Feels like a clue to you.
You're like, maybe if I drinkmore, then I'll Oh, wait a
minute.
Kipo (04:19):
I'm starting to see things
very clearly.
I'm like, I'm on to something.
Wylie (04:23):
Selen got pretty
sprightly after having some fire
whiskey.
Um so Gor Gordon did find somefrozen tentacles and mushroom
caps in the freezer, which youhad in plastic bags.
Brad (04:35):
And um I kept one and I
don't remember which one I kept.
Wylie (04:38):
I think you still have
the top.
Did you keep the tops?
I think you saw the tops.
So you pulled out one.
So you have one whizlock bagwith um some mushroom tops in
it.
You had opened the one that hadoctopus tentacles in it, dumped
it out, stuck Jerry in thatwhizlock bag, and you definitely
busted.
Jerry busted right out of that.
Mimir (05:00):
Yeah, that was not even
these blocks are not or whizlock
bags are uh Wizlocks are nottoo sturdy.
Brad (05:08):
It's the off-brand.
The brand.
Jared (05:12):
So I got a uh Monarch,
the Monarch Steampunk Dragon
Blade.
It's rare.
Uh requires attunement.
So on our way back, I'll attuneto it.
Uh it's plus one to damage uhattacks uh uh damage and attack
rolls.
Uh gives me 1d4 piercing.
What?
What it leave Hey, what hey, what's going on over there,
(05:34):
Chief?
Brad (05:35):
I just have this image of
is it Jared, right?
Yeah.
Is literally trying to justpierce steer the dogs and just
like winging the blade around, you know, all
Mimir (05:50):
three seconds and I drop
it, and then I'm like, alright,
I break we're gonna stop.
Um it has one d4 piercing andone d6 uh fire damage.
Uh finesse uh light and thrown.
Uh the knife has one charge.
Uh when you hit a creature withan attack using this weapon,
you can expend one charge todeal an additional two d6 fire
(06:14):
damage to the target.
Roll a d6 to regain breath andrestore uh restore a charge on a
five or six.
Wylie (06:24):
So it's similar to how a
dragon's uh breath power restore
restores.
Mimir (06:29):
Yeah, yeah.
It's cool.
Wylie (06:30):
Yeah.
Mimir (06:30):
Cool, cool, cool.
I'm ready to kill people.
Wylie (06:33):
That is a homebrew uh
nice magic item.
Uh the name Monarch SteampunkDragon is a real knife.
So I did find that on theinternet.
Mimir (06:44):
Dope, dope, dope.
Wylie (06:45):
Cool, cool, cool.
So you found a knife, but thatwasn't really a clue.
Mimir (06:49):
Um I feel like the we're
getting a lot of sass from our
DM this morning.
Brad (06:56):
I feel like Jared thinks
it's a clue, though.
Yeah, yeah.
Mimir (06:59):
He's like, this this is
everything.
Wylie (07:02):
Uh okay, we you you did
where do you remember where you
found it?
Jared (07:05):
Yes.
Uh there was an ankle bone nextto it.
I know that.
Wylie (07:09):
Not next to it.
Mimir (07:10):
Oh, yeah.
Wylie (07:10):
So there was a it's good,
it's good for going over the
clues.
Jared (07:18):
I'm just not gonna
understand, like, what is
happening?
Here are we?
Wylie (07:21):
Your guys' investigation
skills were so strong last time.
Like, Gordon was crazy with thewhole like, why is who I don't
even remember who it was.
The wrong the wrong chef withthe original.
Brad (07:33):
Yeah that was so she had
said that muddy was the chef,
and then she was like, Stanky'sgonna go uh yes.
Wylie (07:39):
Yeah.
So you you definitely caughtsome weird things going on with
our gnomes and our dwarves.
So the um you found that bladein the ice research room.
So it's a research room with athermostat control where they
could freeze it or heat it, andthere was a large frozen block
in there um that was kind ofgreenish and cut down the
center, and it kind of lookedlike someone had been removed
(08:01):
because there was a remainingboot with a f a foot and an
ankle bone sticking out of it.
Um the gnome did mention to youwhat that was.
Mimir (08:09):
Yes, that was uh a
gelatinous cue.
A gelatinous cube that theywere experimenting on.
Wylie (08:15):
And they had frozen it
and um they found that it was
more stable when frozen, thatthey could handle it a little
bit better.
Um so the other clues that youfound, you found a really
interesting journal.
The research journal hadinteresting pictures of the
mushrooms in it, as well as ifyou look closely, it has um a
sketch of the gelatinous cube inthere.
Mimir (08:34):
That's like the most
important thing.
Wylie (08:36):
And it has um some notes,
some research notes that you
weren't really able to decipherbecause they were both in the
Duergar language as well asbeing like shorthand research
notes.
So um, you're gonna take itback and see if Java can
interpret it for you.
Um there was also some reallyinteresting sketches of some
mushroom creatures, which isessentially what you found, some
(08:59):
as at least some of them.
Mimir (09:00):
They looked like ill
illifid uh mushroom based.
Wylie (09:03):
Jellyfish mushrooms.
Um when you were up in thebase, you found a lot of this
weird fuchsia jelly, the colorof fireweed jelly.
And and one of the really coldrooms where the jelly had
frozen, you found thesetentacle-like tracks um that
were bigger than Jerry's.
You know, bigger than Jerrywould have made.
Um, you also found thisholocoaster, which kind of looks
(09:27):
like a wooden coaster withthese awesome glowing um Arctic
runes, and the equipment to umproject the data from the
holocoaster was not workingbecause of the cold and the
damage, but you're gonna takethat back to your base.
And then um one of the labs wascovered in acid.
There was acid everywhere, yeah, a lot of acid burns.
(09:48):
Um, and in general, there was alot of chaos throughout the
entire base.
There was a lot of upturnedbeds and and all that kind of
stuff, and you didn't actuallyget any clear answers uh as to
why.
Mimir (10:00):
I understand why uh Momir
is very confused.
It's because I Jared is alsovery confused, but then I think
we talked about it and we thinkthat the dog is infected with
some kind of parasite of somesort.
I think that's what we came tothe conclusion.
And so now, as we're rushingback, I'm thinking, oh, all the
(10:21):
clues that we found, we're gonnahave to talk to a specific
person, and everybody's gonna beinfected.
And then there's a radiationleak.
Oh, we're doomed, guys.
That's why it that's why I putit out of my memory, because how
bad we did.
Wylie (10:34):
Right, go going back to
episode one, you did have a a
strange duergar come flying toyour base who was shooting uh
lightning bolts at a dog.
The dog seemed friendly, thedog was let in and put in the
kennels.
Um, you quickly left with yourother dog, so it hasn't been
hanging out with your otherdogs.
Brad (10:50):
Um which Alan also just
utterly destroyed the Duergar.
Yeah.
Wylie (10:55):
Alan took out that
Duergar.
He fell hard and fast to heground
Brad (11:00):
That's right.
Wylie (11:00):
Jared Jared Made sure
Alan did not feel guilty about
that.
Um and so the Duergar body wasleft um, I think, tied up in
your um storage closet umoffice.
Yes.
Mimir (11:14):
And now my office in
quotation marks.
Wylie (11:18):
And uh the other NPCs
left behind were JavaScript, um,
who was working in the researchlab, Bo Jangles, who was
working on fixing that heater sothat you wouldn't get any more
um Arcanian sickness.
And Gnar Kolepsy who waskeeping lookout and the lookout
towers when you guys left.
Mimir (11:36):
I have so much trust in
Nar.
He doesn't do anything.
I fill out all of his reports.
Wylie (11:43):
All right.
So you guys have had an hour ofriding behind the dog sleds on
the way back with Pyra, ourdemolitions expert who
accompanied you, and you havereturned to um the cryozyte
research base.
Mimir (11:58):
Sweep.
Wylie (11:59):
And before the storm.
Before the storm.
You've beat the storm.
You have about you know, roughly an hour, 30 minutes,
like 30 minutes would be on thesafe side before the storm hits,
according to last um lastestimates.
So as you pull up, the rooms, the buildings that are, you
know, m at the front of the baseare the mud room entrance, the
(12:20):
dog kennels, and the rec room.
Mimir (12:22):
Cool.
Is anybody out here to greetus?
No one's outside.
Oh, great.
I'm so glad we're followingprocedure.
Um I will uh uh we'll we'lllock uh uh go into the mud room,
I think is the uh open the doorto the mud room.
Makes sense.
Jared (12:40):
We're like I will back
everybody.
Wylie (12:44):
Um do you say that in
your walkie-talkie?
Mimir (12:46):
Oh, yeah, I do.
Yeah, I don't just yell at Igo.
Jared (12:50):
Uh this is uh Commander
uh Jared Vern Squirrel.
Uh we are back from theresearch station and we have a
20 on our essay in 87 and code5389.
No one understands that besidesme.
Because I'm the only one thatreads things.
Gordon (13:11):
Did did you say you
needed to go number two?
Jared (13:15):
No.
Uh yeah, walk into the mudroom.
Oh, it's muddy as always.
Literally.
Speaker 11 (13:22):
Yeah, literally a
mud.
Jared (13:24):
It's just a bunch of
coats and things and mud and
stuff like that.
Wylie (13:28):
Yeah, this is a room for
those of you who don't live in
Alaska.
Yeah.
This is a room that's usuallyat the entrance where you hang
your coats, put your boots, um,and sometimes store extra gear
and equipment.
And uh because AI made thisone, it literally has mud all
over the floor.
They don't usually have that.
So it's perfect.
So like um, so you do have allyour dogs, so are you gonna
(13:49):
leave the dogs out front?
Jared (13:51):
Or I'll I'll start
hitching them in.
Wylie (13:53):
Okay, so you can just
bring them into the mud room or
into the kennels?
Jared (13:57):
Into the kennels.
Wylie (13:58):
Okay.
So let's look.
Jared (13:59):
I'm just gonna act like
everything is normal because uh
I am assuming that you know wefollowed procedures if an
emergency went off and that thatthat there would be alarms and
things like that.
And so I'm also gonna go uhbecause we had a suspicion about
Finn.
Is Finn there?
Wylie (14:18):
Yes.
So I'm gonna put him, he's notin the kennels right now, but
I'm gonna put him in.
So Finn was the name of the dogum on his collar, and I'm gonna
assume that you he was put inone of these kennels up here,
not the big group kennel.
Jared (14:33):
There's four kennels on
the side just describing the
math.
Wylie (14:35):
Yeah, there's four little
kennels there's four little
kennels that are separate, andthen there's a big um open area
because the dogs like to hangout, and it's it's like a big
giant dog gie play pen.
Mimir (14:44):
Yeah.
Wylie (14:45):
So um Finn is in one of
the little ones up there, and
you put the rest of the dogs, Iassume, in the big kennel.
Yeah.
And um Nar would usually behelping you with this, but he
was not around.
Yeah.
I mean, you guys haven't reallyleft the base that much since
arriving or for a very longperiod of time.
Um, so you you're are you gonnago in and see check out Finn?
(15:05):
Are you guys gonna leave?
What are you gonna do?
Jared (15:07):
Yeah, I'm gonna be like,
What do you guys think we should
do?
I think there's a couplesituations here.
We could be attacked from thembecause they kind of were a
little you know suspicious.
Um honestly, you know, I thinkwe should try to check out this
dog.
This jelly.
I honestly there's nothingabout this in the handbook, so
(15:30):
I'm really at at a loss.
Oh, here, you can take thejournal and I'll hand the
journal to you.
Uh and I'll be like, um, Alan, can you go and check this out
maybe and see if there'sanything about that?
Alan (15:46):
Yeah, I can I can read
through that.
Um, I think maybe just in casewe could have somebody watching
where we just came from, just incase they were following us.
I think that would be a goodidea.
Okay.
Jared (16:00):
Um okay,
Gordon (16:01):
I'll I'll go take a
look.
Jared (16:02):
Oh, I mean, I could get
Nar on it.
Literally, that's his job.
I don't think unless you wantto be promoted.
There is I could fire Nar.
No, no.
Gordon (16:11):
Oh, actually, can I get
paid in spice though?
We
Jared (16:14):
I need a volunteer right
now.
Gordon (16:16):
Oh no, no payment, okay.
Yeah.
Never mind.
I'm good.
Wylie (16:20):
Plus Gordon would think
anybody that arrives is his
family.
Gordon (16:23):
So Oh, come on in.
Alan (16:26):
Is um Finn acting
normally?
Wylie (16:28):
Yeah, you could go up and
look at him and you can do an
investigation check or I wouldlike to do it in investigation
check.
Or nature, whichever's better.
Alan (16:35):
Yep.
Uh investigation, please.
Jared (16:40):
Uh I would say he's doing
that all radio and I'll be
like, Nar, you got copy?
Uh Nar.
Alan (16:46):
14.
Wylie (16:47):
14.
Um, yeah.
He he looks up at you, wags histail, he looks cool.
Happy to see you.
He seems very happy to beinside in a nice warm place.
Seems like a pretty normal sleddog.
Jared (17:01):
He's liking the heat.
That's the first suspiciousthing.
Me very much liking the heat.
Wylie (17:08):
He's in fact to be fair,
your dogs have been out in the
cold for a couple hours now.
Uh-huh.
And like negative therapy, andthey're also happy in a nice
warm kennel.
Alan (17:18):
Um Alan is gonna turn to
Gordon.
And he's gonna he's gonna sayuh hey go hey Gordon, um can can
I see that baggie that you thatyou grabbed from the fridge?
Gordon (17:35):
It's like, oh, okay, we
want to see the mushroom.
Yeah.
Uh so yeah, Gordon.
I think I think he had a pouchor something that he put it in.
Wylie (17:42):
Yeah.
Oh, are you wearing still theforaging basket?
Jared (17:46):
I mean, I would assume he
may have taken it off and put
it like in the like riding inthe can or in the uh dog sled.
Wylie (17:53):
Maybe he put it like
Okay, but you would have put
both your Wislock bags in theforaging basket?
So or what would have stayed inyour pocket?
Jared (18:01):
The remember, because one
of them I did put in the
foraging.
So I guess the I guess theother one would have been in my
pocket.
So I'll pull it out of mypocket.
Wylie (18:08):
So you pull it out.
So it was initially frozen whenyou put it in your pocket, and
it's now warm.
Jared (18:14):
Initially frozen's not a
great sign.
Wylie (18:17):
And so when you pull it
out, um, you can see that these
mushroom heads have sproutedtentacles.
Dang it.
Gordon (18:26):
Oh no.
It looks like Jetty.
And I throw the bag at Alan.
Wylie (18:32):
Alan in the kennel?
Alan (18:35):
And I'm I'm uh it's still
in the bag.
It's still in the bag.
Okay.
It seems to be contained.
Wylie (18:40):
It seems to be contained
right now.
Alan (18:42):
Okay.
Wylie (18:42):
Um if you remember, Jerry
did bust out of one of those
bags.
Alan (18:46):
Alan is going to quickly
grab it and just kind of hold it
up to Finn.
And like let oh, can you sniffthis?
That kind of thing.
Wylie (18:56):
Finn starts growling.
Alan (18:57):
Growling.
He doesn't.
Okay, alright.
Good sign, good sign.
Right.
Good sign.
Jared (19:02):
We'd love to hear that.
Alan (19:03):
Um he suggests to throw
it, throw the bag outside.
Where it's cold.
Gordon (19:10):
Yes.
Alan (19:11):
Um.
But didn't it get angry?
If it when else I just want itto stop growing live.
Yes.
I just want it to stop being alot.
Do we have a freezer?
Wylie (19:23):
Yeah, I'm sure you do.
In the Kitchen and youdefinitely have a freezer.
Jared (19:26):
We could just put it in
the freezer and then do run
experiments on if we can do it.
Alan (19:30):
You know what?
Let's go to the lab.
Yeah.
Wylie (19:34):
Outside is much colder
than the freezer because it
needs negative 30.
Alan (19:38):
So I think it'd be best to
put it in a container, like a
locked container, and thenfreeze it.
Because a Ziploc bag is notgonna do anything.
Wylie (19:47):
A whizlock bag.
Alan (19:48):
Wizlock bag.
Sorry.
Gordon (19:50):
I have an idea of if
there is like a bucket of water.
Just throw it in the bucket ofwater.
Oh, that's there is like a lidput on it and then put it
outside.
Oh, and release.
Alan (20:01):
That's a really good idea.
Yeah, that is great.
I don't know.
unknown (20:04):
Yeah.
Jared (20:04):
He's the chef.
He knows he has known myintelligence may be 17, but this
guy, he's got it when it comesto food.
Um I'm gonna uh there's noradio back, right?
Wylie (20:20):
Yeah, no one, no one has
responded yet.
Which is not it's notnecessarily abnormal.
It's because you went into codespeak.
So 100%.
Speaker 13 (20:28):
Yeah.
Wylie (20:28):
So uh like someone may
have greeted you, but then you s
you really kept going.
So they might have like beenlike, okay.
Alan (20:35):
Alan looks for his radio
and realizes he never took it.
It's still in the lab.
All right, because he was gonnacall Java and hesitant.
Jared (20:43):
I'll be like, Java, you
gotta copy Java.
Wylie (20:46):
And uh Java comes back
and says, uh, yeah, boss, what's
up?
Jared (20:50):
Hey, you guys do that
one?
That's a boss.
Hey, uh, have you seen Nararound or anything?
Java Script (20:57):
Um I've been
working in the research lab
since you guys left a littlewhile ago, so I I have a seen
Gnar he hasn't come in here.
h
Jared (21:04):
All right.
Well, we got something that'suh very interesting.
Um, and so we're gonna reportback.
Uh I think we're gonna have ameeting in the kitchen.
Um, and we'll just have a teammeeting and kind of talk about
everything that uh wediscovered, alright?
So let's start rounding peopleup.
Java Script (21:20):
Okay, team meeting
to the kitchen.
Got it.
Jared (21:23):
In like 10 minutes.
We don't have to rush.
It's not that big of a deal.
Java Script (21:28):
Copy that.
Wylie (21:30):
All right.
So um you guys, are you gonnado anything with the school with
the now mushroom squidcreature, or are you gonna go to
the straight to the kitchen?
What are you guys gonna do?
Jared (21:41):
I think you're gonna
freeze it, right?
Wylie (21:43):
You could do the bucket
freeze situation.
Alan (21:45):
I like that idea.
Yeah, I think I'll do that.
Wylie (21:47):
Okay, yeah, you
definitely have a bucket for
water here in the dog kennelsbecause you gotta give the dogs
water and stuff.
Jared (21:51):
So then I'm gonna go out
to the lookout tower.
The the one that's the where wecame from, um, and look if
there's any uh people followingus or anything.
Okay.
Um, and then also see if Nar isthere.
Wylie (22:04):
Okay.
And Alan, are you gonna go tothe research lab first or are
you gonna go straight to thekitchen?
Alan (22:09):
Kitchen.
Wylie (22:10):
Okay.
So you're going to the kitchen, you're going outside, you're
going outside to the lookouttower.
Jared (22:14):
Yep, we're all splitting
up, DM.
As good as good DD players do.
Why do you ask?
Are you asking that for aspecific reason?
Wylie (22:26):
I just I'm trying to
figure out if I need to load
which maps to load.
Gordon (22:29):
We're all in this
together, guys.
Jared (22:31):
All right, now you go do
this.
You gotta go there.
But we're safe at home.
Nothing gonna happen at ourhouse.
We have we just ran a securitymeasure where we locked all the
doors, and that was successful.
It wasn't just if you're tuningin just now.
Alan (22:47):
Where's uh Pyra?
Wylie (22:48):
Uh oh yeah, Pyra's with
you guys.
Um, so I think she's just gonnago to the kitchen.
Okay.
So so I guess she's going withAlan to the kitchen because
she's like, great, some food.
Nice.
I like when we have teammeetings with snacks.
Jared (23:03):
That is a mandatory.
Jared, Jared has a lot ofrules, but snack meetings are
very important to them.
Wylie (23:11):
Okay.
And because you guys are allback in the building, okay, um,
please give me your ConstitutionSaving J role secretly, um, as
well as your D100 role.
Alan (23:25):
It's uh later in the day,
like afternoon.
Wylie (23:28):
Yeah, it you guys, well,
yeah, it's it's about evening,
getting close to evening, soit's gonna be nighttime soon.
Um so it's gonna be darkoutside, um, as well as because
you guys left at aboutlunchtime.
Been out there for a couplehours, so it it's it's
mid-afternoon, getting close toevening.
Alan (23:42):
Okay.
Wylie (23:44):
Alright.
Let's load the kitchen.
Here is our kitchen.
And actually, we had a lot ofour characters in here from the
last team meeting.
Um, let me just grab our Alancharacter.
And so uh Alan and Pyra, youguys are the first ones to get
to the kitchen.
Um as you enter, you cansee Kolepsy K um from the from
(24:09):
behind.
He's standing in the kitchen,he's holding a knife, he's not
looking at you, his back is toyou, and he seems to just be
standing in the center of thekitchen.
Jared (24:19):
Who is this now?
Wylie (24:20):
Nar.
Nar Kalepsy.
Jared (24:22):
Oh great, but he's
falling asleep again.
Wylie (24:26):
Um so since you guys
enter first, you can tell me
what you do.
Alan (24:31):
Uh me and Pyra.
Okay, so Alan enters and hesees Nar uh standing there.
And so walks in, kind of looksaround, um, a little bit
confused, but he sees Nar withthe knife.
He's like, Oh, Nar! What youdoing?
(24:51):
Are you prepping some dinnerfor us?
Wylie (24:54):
And um Nar kind of jumps
and and turns around and he's
holding the knife in his hand, and he kind of looks at you a
little blankly and says,
GNar Kolepsy (25:04):
Uh, yeah, I was I
uh was gonna make a snack.
I was getting hungry.
Alan (25:12):
Oh, that's great.
Could you maybe make a littlebit more?
Uh I'm a little hungry too.
Okay.
Wylie (25:18):
And uh he's he's kind of
like fumbling around the
kitchen.
He doesn't seem to really knowhe's definitely not the way that
Gordon does.
So he's he's looking for stuffand he kind of he he gets some
bread that's on the counter andhe like takes a raw egg, kind of
smashes the raw egg on a bit ofbread, and spreads it.
Alan (25:36):
Oh, that's just how Sandy
makes it too.
Wylie (25:42):
And uh spreads it,
spreads the
Alan (25:44):
Love my egg bread.
Wylie (25:48):
He uh spreads the raw egg
and the shells around onto the
bread, and then he offers it toyou.
Alan (25:55):
Um realistically, uh Alan
takes it and is very confused,
like even more confused now.
Uh just kind of like says, Oh,thank you.
Wylie (26:08):
Okay.
And uh Pyra says,
Pyra Ember (26:10):
Oh, I think it'll be
it for Gordon.
And she leans up against one ofthe like bar stools that you
guys have at like a littleeating island and sips on some
of the fire whiskey.
Wylie (26:25):
All right, and um then
the rest of you probably start
to file in pretty shortly after.
Um Java comes on in and hefound Bojangles.
So um Java and Bojangles comeon in and Gordon and Jared.
Gordon (26:39):
Okay, or Jordan Gordon
walked in and saw the knife and
all that, and like, hey, whatare you doing?
This is my kitchen.
I did not come into your towerand tell you how to do your job.
Jared (26:51):
I really wish you would
though.
You're supposed to be out onlookout.
What what are you doing overthere, man?
GNar Kolepsy (27:00):
Oh, yeah.
I uh I got cold and hungry, soI came on in for a snack.
Jared (27:05):
Understandable.
He has 20 breaks saved up, andI don't know how, but he does.
Wylie (27:12):
He's always on break and
he always has him somehow.
Alan (27:15):
Alan looks around, he's
like, oh, everybody's here.
Jared (27:19):
Yep, we're I'm not
eating, Alan.
Alright.
Um, Gordon, can you startprepping some snacks for us to
eat while I go over thismeeting?
Sure, sure.
I'll I'll consult with thefrying pen and see uh see if the
frying pan is up for this.
Um I take out like what a ummedieval or uh magical uh thing
(27:45):
of a uh whiteboard is that I'vewritten all these notes that
constantly get erased, likeevery single time, like hey, to
do, and then somebody is like, you suck, or you something on
it, like graffities in a littlebit every single time.
And I I think it's Gordon, butI can't, I never have the will.
Yeah, can't prove it.
(28:06):
Um, so I I'm like, I eraseeverything on the board, and I'm
like, all right, ladies andgentlemen, thank you so much for
gathering all here.
Um, it feels like that the uhradiation is not a thing right
now, so we're doing pretty goodon that.
Um on our next to-do list isBoJangles raises him.
Beau Jangles (28:27):
Oh yes.
Uh to be clear, I have notfixed it yet.
Okay.
I'm working on it.
Jared (28:33):
We'll put that at number
two, because number one is that
we have weirdos as uh theneighbors to us.
Um
Beau Jangles (28:45):
we got weirdos?
Jared (28:46):
Yeah, it's bad out here.
Beau Jangles (28:48):
What kind of
weirdos?
Jared (28:50):
Um well so they have like
jelly and they have an a
they're they do not take care oftheir base.
Alan (28:56):
Alan Alan takes a bite of
his egg bed.
Jared (29:01):
Crunch.
Thank you Alan.
Um and I uh I basically goover.
Wylie (29:12):
Can we get a cheese it
sound to use about so gross.
Alan (29:22):
Um he rolled an 11, so he
kinda likes it.
Jared (29:28):
It's a very mid, but a
little bit better than mid.
Yeah,
Gordon (29:32):
while while he's doing
this whole announcement, Gordon
is just in the corner, justmaking macarons.
Just like he's just trying tode stress from this whole
situation.
Jared (29:42):
Um, I'm basically uh it
probably will take me 15 20
minutes just to get over uh acouple of points of like, hey, I
locked all the doors, this iswhy.
Um, this is kind of what wefound.
Um, and I'll be like, Alan, doyou have the journal?
Alan (30:00):
He's like looking around
um to see if he has a journal on
him.
Uh I don't think he would haveput it down, so yeah.
He still has it.
Jared (30:10):
Awesome.
Oh yeah, here Alan's been ohno, you can hold on to that.
You're the one that's lookinginto that.
Alan (30:15):
I am?
Jared (30:16):
Oh boy.
Um He needs his nap.
Um
Wylie (30:21):
Well when Java sees the
journal, he says, um, oh, did
you guys find some cool researchnotes over there?
And you notice he's holdholding that um big um like jar
that's holding it.
He's really into this artifact.
And he's like, I've beenresearching this artifact the
entire time.
I know you told me that I'm ahero.
That's super important.
Helps me to understand whatthis is about.
(30:43):
And oh, I do have to tell you,I've made a development in my
research.
Jared (30:47):
It's not your turn in the
meeting yet.
So we'll we're gonna go aroundin a circle and you'll do your
Java Script (30:52):
Oh okay.
I didn't see um I didn't seeresearch breakthrough on the
agenda.
We're gonna get there.
Can we put it on the list, please?
That way I can.
Jared (31:04):
That's my thing, Java,
all right?
You you sit down right there.
Java Script (31:07):
But can I see that
research journal later?
Jared (31:09):
Yeah, you can look at it
now, I guess.
Alan I think is asleep.
Alan, you awake him.
No, he's still just kind ofstaring at his bread.
Alan (31:17):
I can never tell if Alan
is on the No, he's he's not
sitting down, he's standing.
Brad (31:24):
He just falls asleep
standing up with eyes wandering.
Wylie (31:28):
I can never tell.
He's not like Nar.
He he gnar falls asleepstanding up, not Alan.
And um and you know, Alanusually needs to be in a comfy
chair.
Jared (31:38):
Awesome.
Well, um, if we've noticedanything that is abnormal about
squid monsters monsters, and Iwill uh um I will draw uh one of
those things like mushroomsquid things on the board.
Uh I think he should roll forhow good.
Yeah, that's I'm literallygrabbing my d20 right now.
Wylie (31:57):
Roll for it.
Jared (31:59):
Um it looks like a rhino
I rolled natural one.
It looks like a rhinoceros, um,and uh uh it has like a sword
in it somehow.
Um and then there's a bunch ofdots everywhere.
I'm like, if you see anythinglike this, and I look at it and
I'm like, how did I how did I dothat?
Wylie (32:18):
Like And
Java Script (32:19):
Java goes, so
there's these mushroom monsters,
and he holds up the page fromthe journal, and there's that
thing.
Jared (32:28):
Yes.
But yes, mm-hmm, mm-mm.
Java Script (32:36):
Okay, so so that
thing, what do we call that
thing?
Jared (32:40):
Gooby! It's Jerry.
It's Jerry, because he has nolens.
Yeah.
It's uh his name's Jerry.
If we see one of these, that'san emergency 84, all right?
That's an emergency 84.
Gordon (32:56):
Um Gordon's just like,
if you see something, say
something, okay?
And uh I speaking for theskillet, the skillet would would
would like to know, okay?
Jared (33:06):
Also, um, if you see not
just something, because I
remember when I said that firstwhen we introduced, and
everybody just started pointingat random things and say, Oh, I
see a door, oh I see a I see afrying pan.
That's if you see somethingdangerous, say something
dangerous, all right.
Well, not say somethingdangerous.
(33:26):
Um anyway, I got this coolknife too, so that's pretty
cool.
Everybody goes, Ooh, yeah, itlights on fire.
Anyway, I'm gonna put that inmy back pocket.
Pyra Ember (33:39):
Pyra says, then are
you going to share this?
Jared (33:43):
Um well, we actually were
gonna also explode part of the
base, too.
Pyra Ember (33:50):
So that's yes, so so
I get to use it then.
Jared (33:53):
No, no, this is this is a
part of uh this is research or
something.
Pyra Ember (33:58):
All right, but I get
to explode part of base.
Jared (34:00):
Yes, the basement of the
base.
We're looking to maybe uh seewhat's underground and see if
there's any more of those squidthings in the case.
Oh any all right, we're gonnago around to our uh daily
updates.
Um let's just go uh let's startwith you, Nar.
Wylie (34:17):
Um, Nar has been has been
standing there staring raptly,
paying attention to your meetingthe entire time.
GNar Kolepsy (34:24):
And he goes, uh
what what do you want?
Jared (34:28):
Oh, just a daily update.
Has there been any emergencysituations or anything like
that?
GNar Kolepsy (34:34):
Um nope.
Nope.
Been pretty quiet.
Jared (34:37):
Cool.
Alright, Ram Shield, is thereanything uh that you want to
talk about or anything likethat?
Daily updates.
Gordon (34:46):
Oh, sorry, sorry.
Uh so uh what what I would liketo say is uh as representative
of the skillets, uh they arevery important and I think they
are forgotten very, very much, not taken care of very well.
So if you can please do not uhdo not uh randomly put water
into these skillets.
(35:08):
Um holding water is not goodfor them.
Uh but if you want to put oilor things like that, it's very
calming, very good for them.
I I I think that is very, veryimportant.
Uh-huh.
Do not forget.
Alright, that's right.
Speak for the skillets.
Jared (35:22):
Alright, that's one, but
I'm gonna count it as 1.5.
So if you have a 0.5 thanks, that was pretty long.
I put that all on thewhiteboard, by the way.
So this has all been written onthe whiteboard.
Gordon (35:32):
Uh and then yes, I would
I would also say for uh yeah,
look out for Jerry.
Uh he seemed to be a nice guyuntil he got outside, and he was
very, very mean.
Java Script (35:43):
So please uh and so
to be clear, that thing on the
board that's J.
Jared (35:48):
Yeah, I highlight, I
circle it, and then I put Jerry
exclamation mark, and then twoeyes, and I draw two eyes.
Gordon (35:59):
Yeah, yeah.
But uh again, the way with uhwith the skillets, just be it's
it's very important that we takecare of the skillets.
Uh yes.
Jared (36:08):
Awesome.
Thank you so much, Ram Shield.
Really appreciate that.
Uh Bo Jangles.
I've never done a staff meetingin DD before.
That's crazy.
Jingles, this is your turn.
Go ahead.
Wylie (36:22):
Man, this is hard.
We'll go through all thethings.
Jared (36:25):
Oh, you know how it
feels.
Beau Jangles (36:27):
Um, all right.
Um, I've been working on theheater this entire time.
It is slow going.
Um, the the heat is up, so asyou could tell, it's that's
toasting here.
It's very comfortable.
Good.
Uh unfortunately, some of thearcanium is still leaking.
I have not found the exactsource of the leak.
So you might still experiencesome arcanium sickness.
(36:48):
And remember, if you start tofeel a bit silly, maybe a little
bit not yourself, the thing todo is go outside, get some fresh
air, and maybe some snacks.
But we do need to be carefulbecause ice storm is coming.
Jared (36:59):
Yep.
Awesome.
Do you need assistance withthat?
Beau Jangles (37:03):
Uh now the uh now
that Pyra is back, I think she
could probably help me with someof that.
Jared (37:08):
Awesome.
Pyra, are you good with that?
Pyra Ember (37:10):
No problem.
Jared (37:11):
Perfect.
All right.
I think that's everybody.
Wylie (37:16):
Java?
Jared (37:17):
Oh, right, Java.
That's right.
Speaker 10 (37:18):
Java Alan.
Jared (37:21):
I forgot about Alan too.
I purposely skipped Java, forgot about Alan.
Wylie (37:27):
So Java is rocking in his
little chair.
Just so holding this artifact, but also the journal.
And he's been like reading thejournal a lot during the staff
meeting.
Um, but he is really excited totell you about this artifact
that he has.
Jared (37:41):
All right.
Java, hit it, hit us with it.
Artifact.
All right, all right.
Speaker 10 (37:45):
Take a note.
Number four?
unknown (37:46):
All right.
Okay.
Jared (37:47):
There's no number three,
but we're leaving a space just
in case.
Skillets are actually in numberthree.
Gordon (37:56):
The skillets would like
to know that, yes.
So I I I will let them know.
Java Script (38:00):
Um So Java says,
all right, so I've been
translating this um this reallycool vase pitcher that we found.
And um I the I was able todecipher some numbers on it.
So the first thing it says is 7Eleven.
(38:20):
And the second thing it says, these are words now.
Infinite gulp.
So I don't know what it does orhow to activate it yet, but
that is what it meant.
Jared (38:36):
Like Infinite Gulp, what
could that mean?
Java Script (38:41):
I don't know what
it's an eleven.
I don't know, But I'm Reallyexcited that you brought this
journal because some of themarkings look the same, and I
think with more data, I might beable to figure out how to
activate it.
Gordon (38:51):
As you say infinite
gulp, Gordon just kind of goes,
just wondering, like, what?
Wylie (39:01):
How would one infinitely
gulp?
Jared (39:04):
Alright.
That's great.
Java Script (39:08):
Um also I kept the
door to the lab locked the
entire time for safety.
Jared (39:13):
Good job, proud of you.
Hey, you're a hero.
Wylie (39:19):
Alright.
He beams, a big smile.
Jared (39:22):
Um, that's from the
research area.
Alan, you wanna say anything?
I know you've been payingattention this whole time, so
you got a lot going on overhere.
I know you were you were dyingto tell us something.
Alan (39:36):
Oh no, just just really
happy to see everybody getting
along.
Um, when is dinner gonna beready?
That's my question.
Jared (39:46):
Okay, well shouldn't add
back over to Gordon, go ahead.
Gordon (39:49):
Uh so let's see here.
Uh I I I will consult theskillet's and find out uh what
what what time we we should haveuh dinner.
Jared (39:58):
So probably 6 30 as usual
time that we usually have it or
not.
Gordon (40:02):
No, it I I think it's a
bit of big day for the skillets,
so I will probably say let'spush it to seven.
Okay.
Jared (40:08):
Everybody understand
that's seven then.
Yeah, seven o'clock.
Cool.
Seven eleven.
Ooh.
What if we have dinner at 7eleven and then we all have
gulps and then maybe I'm not aresearcher.
Java Script (40:23):
Um currently
there's nothing to gulp.
This is an empty jar.
Jared (40:28):
Oh, okay.
Java Script (40:29):
But it does
say infinite gulp, so I don't
know.
Jared (40:32):
Alright.
Well, that's good to know.
Jerry in there.
It's just the jelly.
Um.
Um, and then I'll shoot her andbe like, all right, Pyra's
gonna end us out.
Pyra, you got anything that youwant to mention or anything
like that?
Oh, we also got a new dog.
Sorry, Pyra.
Got a new dog named Finn.
Um, so if you want to stop by,say hi to the dog, sure we'd
(40:55):
love to say hi to you.
Alan (40:56):
Isn't the storage shed
right there?
That's where the guy.
Pyra Ember (41:02):
Um Pyro says,
alright, so then we're gonna
start blowing things up.
Jared (41:07):
We'll talk we'll have a
meeting after dinner.
Um about that.
Pyra Ember (41:12):
An explosive
meeting.
An explosive meeting.
All right, all right.
I'll go I'll go to fuel shedand uh take count of all the
things we have there.
How much the uh calculate howmuch it takes to blow all the
way through the ground into thecaverns, perfectly.
Perfect.
Jared (41:28):
We love to see that.
Alright.
All right, thank you guys somuch.
Um remember you're all doing agreat job, and you're all
wonderful people.
And I I just point my fingersat everybody.
I'm like, you, you're a great,you're great.
I'm trying to keep everybody'sspirits up, even though it's
been really frustrating day.
Gordon (41:49):
The the skillets very
much appreciate the
encouragement.
Yes.
Wylie (41:53):
Awesome.
All right, um, can everybodyroll a perception check, please?
Jared (41:57):
Boy.
Oh my goodness.
All right.
Do you need me to tell it toyou?
Wylie (42:04):
Yeah.
Gordon (42:05):
I got a six.
Alan (42:06):
Eight.
Jared (42:07):
Twenty-two.
Twenty-two.
This is my job.
Wylie (42:10):
All right.
So Alan and Gordon don't noticethis, but um, Jared, you hear a
um, and as you recall, Mops gotturned on to hyper speed before
you guys left.
Wang.
Um Mops is your essentiallyRoomba cleaning robot that can
also mop the floor.
It's very high-tech.
Speaker 1 (42:28):
Nice.
Wylie (42:28):
Um, but it is you have a
lot of difficulty with the
programming.
And before you left, Alan gotmad at it and hit it with a
stick and activated thehyperspeed.
So Mops has been cleaningfuriously since you guys left.
And you hear it zipping throughthe hallway and it comes
zipping right on into thekitchen.
Jared (42:48):
All right.
Um, I figured somebody wouldtake care of it, but I'll put it
on the whiteboard and be like, all right, Mops also needs a
little break.
Wylie (42:57):
And so Mops is zipping
around the kitchen at this
point.
Jared (43:00):
I have bonus action dash
and action dash, so I'll chase
it around.
Wylie (43:04):
Okay, okay.
Um why don't you
Jared (43:06):
Meeting Adjourned!
Wylie (43:07):
Why don't you give me
some kind of an athletics check
or something with advantagebecause of using your super fast
skills?
Alan (43:14):
How heavy is use Mops?
Wylie (43:16):
It's pretty heavy.
Like he's pretty bulky, but ifyou got a hold of it, you might
be able to stop it.
Jared (43:21):
I rolled a three and a
nineteen for a 21.
Wylie (43:25):
Okay.
That's athletics.
So that is with advantage.
So you don't use the three, usethe nineteen.
So great job.
Um, you are able to tackle mopsand grab a hold of him and stop
him from zooming around.
Jared (43:37):
Yep.
Wylie (43:37):
Um, but you are gonna
have to fiddle around um to see
if you can um like deactivatethe high steel.
Jared (43:43):
Java, come over here.
Come help me out here.
Java Script (43:46):
Sure thing, sure
thing.
Jared (43:49):
Help, somebody help me.
This beast is untamable.
Alan (43:54):
Alan starts throwing bread
at Mop's mouth.
Just this wet, slimy bread.
Gordon (44:03):
Just sticky, eggy bread.
It's it's basically that'sFrench toast before it cooks.
Yeah.
I guess actually the question Iwould ask for Gordon's sake is
Is Mops cleaning up all the foodhe's been preparing, though?
Wylie (44:20):
Um, I mean, Mops is only
on the floor and you've been
cooking on the counter, Iassume.
Gordon (44:24):
So I was like, if if
he's been like cleaning as I've
been like cutting things up andhe's cleaning it all up, I would
Gordon would have a very angrymoment.
Wylie (44:33):
Yeah, you're probably
starting to get a little on edge
because he has been zippingaround the kitchen, so you're
probably like not super happyabout it.
So um Java comes over um whileyou're holding it down and he
does an arcana check to turn offthe turn off mops.
Um and he normally he has aplus nine, but he rolled a two.
Jared (44:51):
Can I give him advantage?
Because bonus action uh becauseI might mastermind rogue.
I can give bonus action uh thehelp action.
Wylie (45:00):
Um yeah, yeah.
Jared (45:02):
Let's go.
Wylie (45:03):
I'll try again.
All right, he did better.
This is a dirty 20.
Let's go.
Um so he got a 11 plus ninedirty 20.
He struggles with it.
He does turn off the speed.
Um, so that's good.
Um at the same time, he popsopen the um like cleaning tank.
Speaker 11 (45:22):
Yeah.
Oh no.
Wylie (45:24):
And you guys see that the
cleaning tank is full of
fuchsia jelly.
Jared (45:29):
Oh, oh.
All right.
Um can I go into the storageroom real quick and see if the
dude is still there?
Wylie (45:40):
Yeah.
So you get up, um, so you youget off of mop's and leave him
there.
He's now stationary with thelittle his little lid is popped
open and there's a bunch ofbright fuchsia jelly inside.
And so you're gonna go to thestorage room.
And um when you get to thestorage room, there's no body in
(46:01):
there.
Jared (46:02):
I'm gonna be like, all
right.
No one saw any of the journalthings or Jerry uh around,
correct?
Since everybody's stilltechnically here.
Wylie (46:13):
Yeah, so you you run back
to the kitchen and you s since
I speak to everybody.
Jared (46:17):
Yeah.
Wylie (46:17):
Um, and uh Java is trying
kind of investigating the jelly
at this point.
Um and
Jared (46:25):
don't eat it, Java.
Gordon (46:29):
It is actually pretty
spicy in a good way, just
saying.
a little bit metallic, but youknow,
Java Script (46:35):
that's not normally
step one of the scientific
process, uh, but good to know.
And why do you know it's spicy?
Jared (46:44):
He tasted it.
He ate a lot.
Like way more than normal.
Java Script (46:48):
You ate vacuum
jelly?
Jared (46:50):
No, well, so there was
like this.
Remember when I told you guysall that there was like this
jelly everywhere in all theareas?
I think and I could be wrong, but I think it's the dead guy
that we left in the storageroom.
Java Script (47:04):
The dead guy turned
into jelly?
Jared (47:06):
Yeah.
Hey, I'm no researcher.
Wylie (47:11):
And uh Bo Bo jangles
says,
Beau Jangles (47:13):
Well, I haven't
seen anything.
I've just been working inworking in the maintenance room.
GNar Kolepsy (47:20):
And um Nar says,
Yep, nothing to see here.
Jared (47:28):
That's usually what he
says every single time he says
that.
Um, okay.
Uh we do have uh a squid thatwe can experiment on.
Uh it's currently outside inglass uh in like a bucket.
Yeah, in a bucket in water.
So it's frozen for sure.
(47:49):
Yeah, super frozen.
So there's that.
All right, well, um do we havelike a am I the medical officer?
Who's the medical officer here?
Wylie (48:00):
Uh yeah, who has the
highest medicine, I guess?
Jared (48:04):
I have a plus four.
Alan (48:05):
What the heck?
No idea, yeah.
I am I'm proficient and I havea plus four as well.
unknown (48:11):
I have a plus zero.
Probably Alan then.
Cool.
Jared (48:14):
I'm like, all right.
Alan, do you want to do somemedical routines, make sure
everybody's all healthy andeverything?
Um we'll start with um.
Alan (48:26):
We'll start with gnar.
Yeah, let's start with gnar.
Um yeah, Alan uh starts kind ofdoing some medical
examinations.
Wylie (48:38):
Okay.
Jared (48:38):
I'll stand next to him
just as a like taking notes.
Yeah, taking notes.
Wylie (48:42):
Okay.
So you like shine flashlightsin the eyes, stick out their
tongue and say, ah.
Mm-hmm.
Okay.
Um you probably would have doneinitial physicals for everybody
when they arrived.
And as um, why don't you giveme a medicine check?
We'll tell you what we find.
Jared (48:57):
Yeah, sure.
I don't think I can help here,right?
Wylie (49:00):
Yeah, you're just taking
notes.
Yeah, 17.
17.
Um, as far as you can tell, everybody seems pretty normal.
Cool.
Alan (49:11):
Okay.
Speaker 13 (49:13):
Great.
Great.
Nice.
Jared (49:15):
All right,
Meeting adjourned.
Wylie (49:17):
Nar Nar seems a little
more wakeful.
Like he hasn't fallen asleepfor the whole meeting.
Okay.
That's kind of impressive.
Jared (49:26):
And I like to see him
engaged.
It's really good.
Nothing suspicious here.
Java Script (49:34):
And so, Joe is so
uh could I take this stuff back
to the research?
Jared (49:37):
Yes, please.
Okay, great.
Do you want uh us to send overthe squid sample to?
Yeah, yeah.
Watch from a squid?
Uh-huh.
I don't know what we're gonnaname it.
But all right.
Gordon (49:51):
Um Does Nar still have
the knife that he had at the
beginning?
Speaker 13 (49:56):
Yeah.
Jared (49:57):
And is it a kitchen knife
or is it his own knife?
Wylie (50:00):
It's a kitchen knife.
Gordon (50:01):
Okay.
Then Gordon is gonna ask Narr,uh, excuse me, Nara, would you
please uh drop the knife and nottake it with you?
I I I need that to stay in thekitchen.
GNar Kolepsy (50:09):
Uh Nara says, Oh
yeah, sure thing.
And he drops the knife on thefloor.
unknown (50:14):
You told him to drop.
Gordon (50:15):
You did tell him to tell
him.
No, no, no, no, no, not on thefloor.
Oh, I'm gonna have to sharpenthis thing.
This is gonna be all broken up.
GNar Kolepsy (50:23):
Ting ting ting
here.
And uh so Nar says, okay, I'mgonna get back to work.
Jared (50:27):
All right, hey.
I appreciate that motivation,GNar Keep up the good work, keep
doing your thing, GNar.
Man, he's really grown sincewe've left.
Uh, I'm gonna just go do uhclassic security stuff and
meeting adjourned and then I'llhave a meeting after dinner with
uh Pyra.
So that's my schedule fortoday.
Wylie (50:50):
That's your schedule.
Okay, so um the whatever youleft in the storage shed is
gone.
Um and so are you gonna doanything about that?
Jared (50:59):
Honestly, I have no clue
what to do.
Uh I I think I take is uh isthere like a bag around the
jelly?
Like take the jelly outbasically.
Wylie (51:11):
It's in it, it's in the
tank.
Yeah.
Jared (51:13):
So we need to clean out
the tank.
Yeah.
Okay, I'll do that.
Um, and I will give the jellyto um basically all the
research, all the things thatare abnormal, giving it to the
research team uh to do somestuff there.
Wylie (51:27):
Okay.
So do you give Java all of theclues that you found basically?
All of the stuff.
Everything.
Do you give them the holo disc?
Jared (51:33):
Uh yeah, the holo disc.
I will probably stop by forthat and I'll tell them like,
hey, when we when uh you want toplay that, uh just let me know.
I'll come on by, all right?
Java Script (51:41):
Great, great.
I'll get a work eated that I'llcall you on the uh
walkie-talkies.
Awesome.
Wylie (51:45):
Great.
Hero.
So Java goes off to theresearch lab.
Um you're doing rounds.
Jared (51:54):
Yeah, I'm just gonna do
security rounds.
Uh all the doors are locked, and we'll stay inside because
we're not gonna use the becauseof the storm that's happening.
All the external doors.
Yeah, all the external doorsare locked.
Wylie (52:05):
Okay.
Jared (52:05):
And uh I will grab the
the thing and bring it to.
Uh when he radios me, I'll grabthe the mushroom jellyfish
thing.
Okay.
Uh and bring it overeventually.
Wylie (52:15):
Okay.
So yeah, so you're okay beforethe storm hits, you're gonna go
grab the frozen mushroom thing.
Okay.
Um, so I'll put you uh at theresearch lab because that's what
we're gonna be kind of nexttime.
And then um, Gordon, I assumeyou're cooking in the kitchen.
Gordon (52:29):
Just to cook him.
Wylie (52:31):
All right.
Um Pyra is going out to thefuel shed for right now before
the storm hits.
Yep.
Um and Bo Jangles is gonna goback and work on stuff.
And Alan, what are you gonnado?
Alan (52:41):
Did anyone tell him to go
anywhere?
No.
That he's right there.
Wylie (52:46):
You're just sitting on a
stool in the kitchen hanging out
with Gordon.
Jared (52:51):
That's it.
Heroes.
Every single one of them myheroes.
Wylie (52:58):
Okay.
And since we're changingscenes, I'm gonna load our lab,
but can everyone also give meanother constitution saving
throw?
Okay, so in the lab, umeventually Java radios you.
Um, so you were doing roundsuntil then.
So we've got a little bit oftime.
Jared (53:19):
I will radio uh Gordon
and well, and Alan, but Alan
won't have his radio on him.
But he'll be with Gordon.
Yeah, but he's with Gordon, soI'll be like, um if you guys
want to stop by the lab, you'remore than welcome to.
Um I know Gordon, you'reworking on dinner, but if
there's like a pause point, Idon't know if you can pause your
game or no, I'm just kidding.
Gordon (53:43):
He's actually just
playing overcooked.
That's how he makes dinner.
And it's all actually instantmeals or whatever.
Yeah.
Wylie (53:52):
Uh Java Java pops on and
says, uh uh
Java Script (53:55):
Dr.
Dr.
Alan, I think you should comehere so we can go over the
research discoveries.
Gordon (54:00):
Yeah, but he's probably
making like gumbo, and you have
to just sit in center for a longtime.
Cool.
Alan (54:06):
So if Alan hears that from
Gordon's radio, then yeah,
he'll just get up and walk over.
Cool.
Yep.
Java Script (54:14):
Yeah, and I could
use uh Gordon's perspective on
this the taste of this jelly.
That might help.
Wylie (54:23):
So Gordon and sorry, Dr.
Fizzard.
unknown (54:27):
Dr.
Wylie (54:27):
Fizzard, he would have
called you.
Um so you guys all arrive inthe lab.
And um so uh the first thingJava says is
Java Script (54:38):
okay, so the first
thing that I found out about
this really cool pot, you guysready for this one?
The the big vase like thingthat he's been holding?
The one that says 7-11 infinitegulp.
I found out that it can produceits own liquid.
Okay, and it can make lots ofdifferent kinds, and it just
keeps making more and more asyou pour it out.
(55:00):
It makes so much more.
So we could make like applejuice, or we could make like
oil.
Jared (55:06):
Okay, that's useful.
Apple juice is not as useful asoil.
Gordon (55:10):
How how about Kavas?
Can it do kivas?
Java Script (55:13):
Oh, what's what's
Kavas?
Gordon (55:14):
Uh Kavas is it is like a
fizzy drink, but it has kind of
the flavor of bread.
I kind of like beer, but butnot but none of the effects of
beer.
Java Script (55:30):
Hmm.
Well, I'm not really sure yetbecause I didn't know what kivas
was, but but maybe, maybe if weput some cavas in, I've still
figured it out.
So I've figured out a fewthings so far.
Like apple juice, acid, oil,uh, water.
Water is important for sure.
(55:51):
Um, those kind of things sofar.
So I don't know about that one,but we could try.
Jared (55:56):
Um what's the idea of
trying?
O
Gordon (55:58):
h, sorry.
Oh, it's okay.
I just wanted to try Skabas.
It's the best.
Java Script (56:04):
Sounds good.
Do you know how to make that?
Gordon (56:06):
Oh yeah, my chef.
What why would I not know howto make that?
I make it at home all the time.
Java Script (56:11):
Maybe we guess I
would put it in.
Maybe we could do that.
Gordon (56:14):
Sounds like a great
idea.
Jared (56:16):
Um, what's the
temperature in here?
Wylie (56:18):
This is a normal you guys
don't it is not a chili lab or
anything, so it's just
Jared (56:22):
I'm gonna be like, oh,
can we turn down the temperature
while we have the ice thing inhere?
Java Script (56:27):
Oh yeah, I could
turn it out a little bit, but I
don't think it's made to get tofreezy.
Jared (56:31):
So if he gets so it
probably won't help all that
time, huh?
Wylie (56:34):
But we could keep it kind
of cold.
Okay.
And if I think um we can lookat the overall map real quick.
Um I think all of the differentparts of the base have doors to
the outside.
Um, because they're all theselittle individual spheres
connected by hallways, so theyall do have exits to the
outdoors as well.
Um, so you could just stick itback out in the snow.
Jared (56:56):
Okay.
Um is there like a box?
Like a I just think of thefirst transformers when they
have that like clear box andthen they z they like zap it
with the power cube and then ittransforms like their phone, and
then they then they'll do youremember that scene?
Yeah.
That's what I I'm thinking of.
(57:17):
Like, is there like a clear boxlike reinforced box or anything
that we have in this lab?
I'm guessing not.
Wylie (57:24):
So roll for transformer
box?
Jared (57:26):
Yeah, roll for
transformer box.
Uh natural 19.
Wylie (57:33):
I was that was so close.
I was gonna let you have it fora nat 20.
Jared (57:37):
Oh, that would have been
so good.
That's when you havetransformer box.
Wylie (57:41):
No transformer box.
Sorry.
Jared (57:43):
All right, so I will
leave it outside until until we
want to start experimenting onit.
Wylie (57:48):
Okay.
Jared (57:49):
Outside the lab
specifically.
Wylie (57:51):
Yeah.
Um, yeah, so he'll know thatit's right outside the lab and
stuff, and um, he'll probablyneed a little bit more time to
research on it.
Um, and so then um he's like, okay, let's get this holodisc
going.
And so he sets the holodisc onyou guys as player and um it
projects up off of the tablelike a little three-dimensional
(58:14):
screen, um, like athree-dimensional um augmented
reality almost.
Jared (58:20):
Like it looks like
there's a little Obi-Wan Kenobi
style.
Yeah.
Wylie (58:23):
Drawing out.
And um so it the there'sfootage.
Um at this time the audio doesnot seem to be working, but you
can see footage of the what yourecognize to be the staff from
the other base, and they'regoing out into the snow and
they're digging in the snow, andthey extract the a big
(58:46):
rectangular or um cube, youknow, and they bring it on into
the lab.
And um, so you can see thatprocess of them kind of
retrieving that discovery.
Jared (58:56):
Um what's in the cube?
Wylie (58:59):
Um, there's nothing in
the cube.
Cool.
At this point.
Um, they just found they couldtell that it was different from
the ice and stuff and frozen.
And um you see so some littleclips of them um doing some
experiments with it um wherethey've heated it up and you can
and they, you know, that youcould tell that it kind of like
jiggles and like, oh, and youknow, like burns because it's
acidic.
(59:19):
Um so as you as you guysprobably know, as Alan would
know about gelatinous cubes, umthese are large um cubes that
are pretty when they're notfrozen, they're like they're
completely transparent.
So they're really hard to see.
A lot of times adventurers willwalk into them um in tunnels
(59:40):
and caverns, and um sometimes indungeons, you know.
Um and it does acid damage, andso you can get absorbed into
it, and while your body is stuckinside the cube, it will do
continual acid damage to you, almost like digesting you.
Um Um so Alan would be familiarwith those attributes of a
(01:00:02):
gelatinous cube.
Jared (01:00:03):
Did you get your masters
in gelatinous cube?
Alan (01:00:05):
No.
Oh, okay just my minor.
Jared (01:00:07):
Oh, okay.
Wylie (01:00:09):
They're they're pretty
rare.
They're not like a big deal.
You know, it's not like they'rein every castle.
Okay.
Um, but Alan would be kind offamiliar with the properties of
that.
And um, so it seems like thatthis research center had
discovered, hey, if we keep coldfrozen, it's a lot easier to
interact with it and it's notdoing acid damage to us.
(01:00:30):
Cool.
Um, but if it's heated up, thenit would do acid damage.
Um and that is mostly what yousee on the holo desk.
Um, but Alan, can you give me ahistory check?
Alan (01:00:46):
Mm-hmm.
Uh 19.
Wylie (01:00:49):
19.
Alan, you remember that witholder technology, it's not just
one side that plays information, but the other side of the disc
plays information as well.
So you know that if you flipover the disc and put it back on
the player, okay, you might getsome more information.
Alan (01:01:08):
Side B.
Sure.
If that's what pops into hishead, he will walk over and say,
Well, what's the other side?
What does the other side say?
Java Script (01:01:17):
The other side,
what are you talking about?
Digital information.
Does it have other sides?
It's just a like.
Alan (01:01:21):
Alan just walks over it.
Wylie (01:01:26):
Um, so this time you
don't see anything.
Alan (01:01:29):
Learn something new,
Skippy.
Jared (01:01:31):
I'll be like, man, old
man has near tricks.
Wylie (01:01:38):
Uh at first everything is
silent, and um then you hear
like a scraping sound, and umand you hear a voice, and it
says,We've we've been attacked.
We don't know what it is.
Something happened to Stanky.
I don't something's not right.
unknown (01:02:03):
It smells terrible in
here.
Wylie (01:02:08):
He was he was in the
kitchen um assisting with
breakfast, and then I I don'tknow what happened.
Um and suddenly he startedattacking us, and strange things
are happening.
Not everyone seems to be whothey are.
There's this jelly that we'refinding everywhere.
If anyone finds this, you haveto destroy the base.
(01:02:30):
Don't let anyone leave alone.
Alan (01:02:42):
We gotta nuke the base.
Okay.
Okay.
Alan's like, well, nothingthere either.
Jared (01:02:55):
Uh stress levels are high
for uh Jared.
And it'll be like, all right,um has anybody been acting
abnormal to you guys?
Anybody that you could think ofthat when we were in the
meeting that was just like weirdor uncomfortable or anything
like that.
Alan (01:03:15):
Nope.
Gordon (01:03:19):
Is there a check I could
roll to see if Gordon noticed
anything?
Wylie (01:03:23):
Um yeah.
Jared (01:03:25):
Yeah, can I also roll
like an insight check?
Wylie (01:03:27):
Yeah, yeah, you can roll
an insight check and kind of on
your memories and yourinteractions with everybody
since you've been back at base.
Jared (01:03:35):
Oh, it was almost an 18.
Yep.
Gordon (01:03:39):
Is it insight?
It is a 19.
Jared (01:03:42):
Uh mine's 14.
Wylie (01:03:43):
A 19 and 14.
Gordon, you remember Narrdidn't fall asleep through that
whole meeting, which was prettyabnormal for him, considering it
was a long meeting.
Jared (01:03:54):
Long meeting.
It was.
It was literally, I said itwould be 15 minutes, 45 minutes,
45 minutes, and 90% was me andSkillet.
Wylie (01:04:04):
So me and Skillet.
Jared (01:04:07):
Um, I'm blind to that.
Like, because I have such highhopes for Nar.
I'm so blind to that.
Wylie (01:04:14):
You just think it's your
inspiring person.
Jared (01:04:15):
And I'm like, oh man,
he's doing so good.
He's so improved.
He took up the leadership.
Wylie (01:04:20):
I feel like now that we
had an actual like incident.
Jared (01:04:23):
Yeah, exactly.
He's woken up.
Wylie (01:04:24):
He's not, yeah.
Jared (01:04:26):
No pun intended.
Gordon (01:04:30):
Uh well, uh I noticed
that uh oh hello, sorry.
Uh I I noticed that uh GNar wasuh awake the whole time.
Which is not normal for GNar.
It can't be.
I think that he uh something isoff with him.
(01:04:52):
Because normally he in the longmeeting would already be passed
out probably within the firstminute or two.
Jared (01:05:02):
Oh no.
Just tears.
My boy Nar.
He's not actually my son.
Just that I'm just making thatclear.
So good.
Alright, we'll have to confronthim.
Alright.
I don't know if I'm strongenough.
Wylie (01:05:21):
Um, everyone give me a
perception check.
Jared (01:05:26):
Ooh, that's real good.
I got a 26.
Wylie (01:05:31):
26.
Jared (01:05:32):
No, the 20.
Wylie (01:05:34):
Okay.
The 26.
The 20.
Both Jared and Gordon, you guyshear dogs barking.
Oh.
Jared (01:05:43):
Alright.
Um, would you guys be okay?
Uh you guys want to come helpme confront Nar?
Uh, you keep working.
You're doing a great job.
Java?
Mm-hmm.
Java Script (01:05:53):
Okay.
And Java says, Alright, alright, I got this.
And uh he's like, I'll go toinvestigate this uh frozen
thingy we got here.
Gordon (01:06:01):
Okay.
Well, don't forget the Kavas.
Okay.
The Kavas are very, very, veryimportant.
Java Script (01:06:06):
Okay, what's what's
priority number what?
So the squid creature or theKavas?
Jared (01:06:10):
It's definitely the squid
creature.
Gordon (01:06:12):
I think it's Kavas.
Java Script (01:06:14):
Alright.
Um, Dr.
Fizzard, what should Iprioritize?
Jared (01:06:21):
I give you a long stare.
Gordon (01:06:26):
Gordon just gives like,
he rarely gives these out, but
he gives a smile and is like,eh?
Alan (01:06:32):
What did they find
anything about the jelly?
Wylie (01:06:40):
Um he hasn't had enough
time to fully research it yet,
but if you but researching thejelly and the mushroom would
probably be a part of his nextinvestigation.
Alan (01:06:50):
Okay.
He'll say this start with thejelly and the in the vacuum.
Wylie (01:06:56):
Start with the vacuum
jelly.
Yeah.
Okay.
And then the uh then themushrooms after that.
Jared (01:07:01):
Gorm sham sh uh shield
will remember this.
And that's fine.
unknown (01:07:05):
Yeah.
Jared (01:07:05):
He's just he's like, he
just gives a very like he was
smiling, and then he just wentlike deadpan, just like, come
on, his face just went dark.
Speaker 1 (01:07:14):
Yeah.
Wylie (01:07:16):
All right.
unknown (01:07:17):
Cool.
Jared (01:07:17):
We'll head to the dogs.
Wylie (01:07:18):
Okay, you guys take off
to the kennels.
Um, so as you arrive at the dogkennels, um, all the dogs um
seem uneasy, and Finn is up andbarking at Kolepsy, who is
standing in there.
Jared (01:07:34):
Oh, Nar?
Wylie (01:07:35):
Yep.
Jared (01:07:36):
Okay.
Wylie (01:07:37):
And um he's he's kind of
just standing looking confused,
and like maybe he was there toum like feed the dogs or
something, but the dog Finn isnot happy about him.
Jared (01:07:51):
I'm gonna have my uh hand
on the dagger just in case if
like something crazy happens.
Um and I'll approach him like, are you feeling okay, buddy?
Hand out.
Wylie (01:08:02):
And um he turns around
and looks at you, and tentacles
just sprout from his body.
Roll for initiative.
Oh no.
Speaker 11 (01:08:13):
Oh no, no, no, no.
Jared (01:08:16):
Five.
I got a 14.
Wylie (01:08:18):
He got a two.
That's basically for him.
All right, so what do you do?
Jared (01:08:25):
Um, I want to so it's
just sprouting from his body.
Wylie (01:08:30):
Yeah, so he's he's
standing there.
Yeah.
Eyes are blank, his bodystarted to shudder, and then
tentacles just started coming.
Jared (01:08:37):
Burst out of his body.
Oh boy.
I don't want to kill him.
Um, I'm gonna give the bonusaction.
Uh uh, I'm gonna go over toRamshield and I'll help him with
the bonus action with whateverhe's gonna do.
I'm gonna be like, It's time toact.
Um and then I will it's time toact.
(01:09:01):
Um, and I'll take out my newfancy sword or uh fancy dagger,
and I will uh attack thisindividual.
Okay.
GNar.
Uh non-lethal.
So I'm not gonna be doing anyof the fire damage or anything.
I don't wanna I don't want toact.
Wylie (01:09:16):
No fire damage.
Jared (01:09:17):
Yep.
Okay.
Uh that is a 19 to hit.
Wylie (01:09:21):
Okay, you hit.
Jared (01:09:22):
Sweet.
Uh it's only 1d6.
Uh, and that's seven slashingdamage, non-lethal slashing
damage.
Wylie (01:09:30):
Okay, what does it look
like when you slash him?
Jared (01:09:31):
Uh I kind of like am just
going for the tentacles.
So I'm just like, um, and I'mlike, come on, GNar, snap out of
it, buddy.
I'm so proud of you.
You're a hero.
That's a body's a hero.
That is um, that's everything.
Wylie (01:09:53):
Okay.
So um you slash at one of thetentacles, he kind of falls back
a little bit, but stands up andis still just kind of blank
face, like not his normal gnarpersonality at all.
Okay.
Um, and so sorry, Jared was upfirst, and I think Gordon,
you're up next.
Gordon (01:10:10):
Yeah, yes.
Um Gordon is probably uh he'sdefinitely wrestling with this
because he's like, I I I don'twant to be in the middle of this
and you know, trying to be apacifist, but but because he is
friends with Nar, he does seelike I need to do something to
(01:10:31):
help my friend.
So which he does have histrusty skillet with him, uh, and
proceeds to walk up and try tojust smack literally the
tentacles out of him.
Wylie (01:10:44):
Okay.
So, yeah.
Jared (01:10:45):
Uh, and you have
advantage because I gave you my
uh master uh master of tactics, which is a bonus action help.
And so he walks up and he'slike, I I am so sorry to do this
Gnar, but I I'm trying to helpyou uh just just for your own
sake, okay.
13 again.
Alright, 13 it is.
Wylie (01:11:06):
13 to hit?
Jared (01:11:07):
Yep.
You hit ah cool.
Oh, sweet.
Good.
Um and then I guess I'm I'musing my was it, tavern brawler
to use random objects.
Wylie (01:11:16):
Yeah, so you get to use
any improvised object.
Jared (01:11:19):
Yep.
Wylie (01:11:21):
Awesome.
Um, so because you used somedid some cold damage, um you
notice that like the tentaclesare moving a little bit more
slowly as they kind of writheand move around and stuff.
So um it seems like that maybethe cold has slowed um this
thing.
All right, Alan, you're upnext.
Jared (01:11:41):
Fireball.
Alan (01:11:42):
No, I'm
in the dog Kennel?.
unknown (01:11:45):
Yeah, in the angle.
Alan (01:11:47):
Is anyone close to him
right now?
Yeah, we're both up and you'reboth up and in there.
Jared (01:11:54):
We can take it.
Whatever you got, we can takeit.
We're both we're both good.
Alan (01:11:59):
Okay.
So Alan sees you guys kind oflike wrestling up there, and he
doesn't like all the commotion.
So in the back of the roomwhere he's standing, um you see
him like pop open one of hislittle pockets on his belt, like
(01:12:21):
a little, you know, leathercase with a little snap snap
pocket, opens that up, and hepulls out um a cricket, like a
live cricket.
Jared (01:12:33):
Okay.
Alan (01:12:34):
And it's chirping.
And with the cricket, uh, hecasts sleep.
Jared (01:12:43):
No.
We can take it, we can take it.
Alan (01:12:48):
Um at mainly at Nar and
and all of the creatures that
are surrounding him.
Jared (01:12:56):
So I think that's a
30-foot thing, and I'm pretty
sure it is 90 feet.
Yeah, so all of the dogs arealso affected by it.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And it goes from least to mostuh health.
Alan (01:13:09):
Health.
Yeah, so you have to roll.
Right.
I did roll already.
Um 31.
Wylie (01:13:15):
31.
Alan (01:13:16):
31.
Wylie (01:13:16):
And so it uses up the
health as it goes.
Yes, right?
Alan (01:13:20):
Yep.
Okay.
So it's least to most.
So hopefully the squid thingsinside of him.
Jared (01:13:27):
Well, I'm worried that
you're gonna put all the dogs to
sleep before we you get youthink the dogs have less HP than
the squid things?
Alan (01:13:33):
Yeah.
Wylie (01:13:34):
If this is what he he
this is what he cast.
So and you're standing here andit's kind of in a radius around
you.
Is that how it goes?
Jared (01:13:43):
It's a radius around
gnar, but yeah.
Wylie (01:13:45):
Okay, a radius around
gnar.
So focused on nar.
Okay.
And so you choose nar.
Alan (01:13:52):
Nar is the point.
Wylie (01:13:53):
Okay.
So we'll get a littlenitty-gritty about the feet in
here and see.
Jared (01:13:58):
Um because we're both
standing next to him, too.
Wylie (01:14:02):
Yeah.
So you guys well, yeah, youguys being right in there.
Jared (01:14:05):
I have 21 health.
Wylie (01:14:07):
You have 21.
How much does Gordon have?
Jared (01:14:09):
50.
Wylie (01:14:10):
50.
Okay.
So Gordon's gonna be unaffectedbecause he's gonna be the last
one.
You have 21.
Jared (01:14:15):
Yes.
So if I have less HP than Narrcurrently, then or the squid
thing.
Alan (01:14:21):
Or the squid things
inside.
That's my hip, is that thesquid things have their own
individual HP.
Wylie (01:14:28):
So, um
Alan (01:14:30):
We're about to find out.
Jared (01:14:31):
So that's the whole DM,
so go ahead and tell us that.
Wylie (01:14:35):
So uh Jared is standing
right in front of Nar, and um
his knees buckle and he fallsasleep.
Jared (01:14:42):
I'm like, all right, we
got this.
Back to back, here we go.
Wylie (01:14:46):
And Finn, who has been
barking at Nar this whole time,
also falls asleep.
Alan (01:14:51):
Okay.
Wylie (01:14:52):
And Nar remains standing.
Alan (01:14:54):
Oh.
So who wait, who went down?
It was me, you and the dog.
Yeah.
Oh, I go.
Jared (01:15:00):
We got this! So Jared.
I would like to remind the DMthat I am now uh unconscious,
and any attacks have auto critson me.
And if you hit it.
So hey, that's just just wannawant to throw that out there.
But I'll wake up if you hit me.
(01:15:20):
So that's pretty cool too.
Wylie (01:15:22):
And it is uh gnar or the
thing's turn.
Whatever nar has become, andit's his turn.
Um, so I'm gonna roll to seewhat he does to see if he just
considers you not a threat, orto see if he considers you
interesting.
Um, can you pick a numberbetween one and six?
Jared (01:15:42):
Um five.
That was a terrible number.
I shouldn't pickfive. (he got a 5!)
Speaker 15 (01:15:48):
Yo boy.
Wylie (01:15:50):
So the tentacles um from
GNars body extend and they go
down and they scoop up Jared offof the floor, and they're
bringing Jared in close to GNarsbody.
Alan (01:16:04):
Okay.
Without damage?
Wylie (01:16:06):
They don't do any damage
at this time.
They don't do any damage yet.
Jared (01:16:12):
This is this is probably
the best sleep I've ever had in
my life.
I'm being cuddled.
I'm a being swaddled.
Well, you do have to check onething here to make sure.
No, okay.
It's just making sure thatgnomes can fall asleep because
you know I reach for everything.
So that's it.
Yep, we're good.
Wylie (01:16:31):
Yeah, sometimes you
aren't people are immune to
sleep.
So it now is Jared's turn, andI don't think there's anything
he can do about sleep.
There's no wisdom safe, so he'sdone for right now.
So, Gordon, you're up next.
Gordon (01:16:43):
Oh my goodness.
Wylie (01:16:45):
Um, is being scooped up
by a tentacle monster.
Jared (01:16:50):
Boss.
I don't know if buddy is notscared.
Alan (01:16:53):
So for sleep, if you can
get to him, you can shake him
awake.
As an action.
As an action?
Jared (01:16:58):
Or you could hit me or
hit him.
Wylie (01:17:00):
Yeah, if you do damage to
him.
Alan (01:17:02):
Oh, yeah.
Okay.
Jared (01:17:04):
Oh, okay.
Um I love the idea uh whileyou're thinking of what to do.
I love the idea that um, youknow, it's actually I'm the only
one that's left in the dark.
Everybody else is you know, infected, and you two are also
infected.
And the DM was like, no, no,no.
(01:17:26):
You'll never wily over here.
I've been pranked.
I'm scared.
Wylie (01:17:32):
They've been infected
this whole time.
The whole thing was asimulation for Jared.
Yeah.
Jared (01:17:39):
Okay.
So I'm gonna keep using uhtavern brawler.
Um and this is uh yeah, Gordonjust sees uh Jared being taken
in.
It's like he just needs to wakeup.
Like if I can wake him up,he'll be okay.
Uh so he takes his frying panand rears back and Swings.
Wylie (01:18:01):
Are you swinging at Jared
or are you swinging at um Nar?
Jared (01:18:04):
I'm gonna swing.
Oh man.
I think I should just swing atJared.
Wylie (01:18:11):
Okay.
So it's gonna be against yourAC, Jared.
Jared (01:18:13):
Yep.
13.
You have advantage?
unknown (01:18:16):
Yeah.
Gordon (01:18:17):
I just got a 15 plus.
Jared (01:18:20):
I want to see if you
crit.
Yeah.
I'm just kidding.
Uh, because it's an auto-crit.
So wait, wait, wait.
If you hit me.
unknown (01:18:27):
Oh.
Jared (01:18:27):
That's alright.
You've already done it, Chief.
That's why that's why Imentioned it.
Oh no.
Welcome to D anyway.
I guess if I would have done anunarmed strike, if that would
have been an effect.
You swore, Chief.
I know, I know, I know.
It's too late now.
Wylie (01:18:45):
Your unarmed strike is
pretty strong, anyways.
Like it's probably the one d4also.
Gordon (01:18:49):
Dang, I should have gone
for Nar.
Jared (01:18:50):
Oh, I love it.
I love this.
So you uh how do you do crits?
Is it uh we are crits.
2d4 or 2 the damage dice or maxone?
Wylie (01:19:00):
Yeah, we'll just do
double damage dice for loose
time for for this one shot.
unknown (01:19:05):
Cool.
Jared (01:19:07):
So that's four.
Plus your strength?
Plus two.
So six damage.
Wylie (01:19:13):
Six damage to Jared.
Jared (01:19:16):
But does it wake him up?
Wylie (01:19:17):
He's awake.
Jared (01:19:18):
Yep.
He's awake.
Oh my hand! What am I in myhand?
Oh gosh!
Gordon (01:19:23):
Oh, you're awake.
Jared (01:19:25):
Full panic.
I also probably don't want mysword because I probably or my
knife because I probably droppedit.
Yeah, cool.
Wylie (01:19:30):
But it's on the ground
right next to you.
Jared (01:19:32):
I have another one.
Gordon (01:19:32):
So this one is like you
told at your door.
I needed to wake you up, so Ithink you owe me two spices.
Speaker (01:19:38):
I'm sorry.
Gordon (01:19:39):
You all you owe me two
spices.
Jared (01:19:41):
Please help somebody's
trying to eat me.
GNar's eating me.
Java Script (01:19:46):
Uh you hear the
walkie-talkie go, oh, is
everything okay, guys?
Jared (01:19:51):
Oh, please, somebody help
me, please.
Oh my gosh, we're all dying.
We're all gonna die.
Java Script (01:19:56):
Do you want me to
come to the kennels right now?
Jared (01:20:01):
No, don't do that.
Uh, okay.
Wylie (01:20:04):
Um, Alan, you're up.
Alan (01:20:06):
Oh boy.
Um, well, that spell doesn'tuse concentration, so it's just
gonna last a minute for Finn towake back up.
Wylie (01:20:18):
Um it only lasts a
minute.
Alan (01:20:19):
One minute.
Oh my god, it was longer.
Nope.
One minute.
Jared (01:20:23):
Um put me back to sleep.
Alan (01:20:35):
No, let's try it again.
Let's try it again.
Wylie (01:20:38):
Um Jared hasn't slept
that well in his entire life.
Jared (01:20:41):
That was so nice.
That was the worst experienceever.
I got hit in the face with afrying pan.
Gordon (01:20:49):
You're like, I will
never go into a deep sleep
again.
Speaker 1 (01:20:51):
Uh-huh.
Yeah.
Wylie (01:20:52):
Bad things happen when
you rest well.
Jared (01:21:00):
Um It's so funny that Nar
is the one that we're fighting,
and then I fall asleep whilefighting Nar.
That's very good.
Wylie (01:21:11):
The one time you don't
want GNar to fall asleep.
Jared (01:21:14):
Sorry, I'd have to look
something up.
Wylie (01:21:15):
Or you do want GNar to
fall asleep.
Gordon (01:21:17):
You could you end up
falling asleep instead.
Wylie (01:21:21):
Now you know why he does
it all the time.
Yeah.
It's really nice.
Jared (01:21:24):
It's really nice, but bad
things happen.
This is why he doesn't heshouldn't do it.
Okay.
Alan (01:21:42):
Sorry.
What are you thinking?
We're going to Oh no it's not.
unknown (01:21:53):
Okay.
Alan (01:21:53):
Within range.
Thirty feet.
So now Alan sees that it thatdidn't work.
Um, he's gonna cast reduce.
Wylie (01:22:06):
Mm.
Alan (01:22:07):
Interesting on Alan.
Or I'm sorry, not on himself init.
Jared (01:22:16):
He's the one that's at
the strange.
Wylie (01:22:19):
So he cast reduce on
Gnar.
Alan (01:22:21):
Um yeah, cast reduce on
Gnar.
Uh is either a creature or anobject that is neither worn nor
carried.
If the target is unwilling, uhmake a constitution saving
throw.
Wylie (01:22:37):
Okay.
Fourteen.
Alan (01:22:45):
My spell save DC is
fourteen.
Meets it, Beats it.
Right there.
So close.
Okay.
Wylie (01:22:57):
So you cast a spell and
you see um GNar kind of like
shivers and sort of like drawsinto himself, but then expands
back up and he doesn't shrinkand doesn't get any smaller.
Alan (01:23:11):
Okay.
Great.
Um Alan kind of walks maybe tenfeet away.
Wylie (01:23:20):
Backwards.
Backs up.
Yep.
All right.
And it is now GNARS.
Tentacle GNARS.
Jared (01:23:32):
He still has me, right?
Wylie (01:23:33):
He's still holding you.
Jared (01:23:34):
Um he does.
Wylie (01:24:01):
Okay.
Um it is going to back awaybecause it feels like it's
getting, you know, attacked, butit's carrying Jared with him.
And so backs up to the wall, and tentacles extend from his
back and starts spider climbingup a wall.
(01:24:23):
So Nar is facing you guys, holding um Jared in his
tentacles, and then just almostseems to like levitate as other
tentacles extend from the backand starts climbing up the wall.
Jared (01:24:35):
Does uh do you get an
attack of opportunity?
Does Ramstring?
Wylie (01:24:39):
Um because you Yeah, you
probably would have been within
range, huh?
Yeah, because even though wedidn't have you that close on
the map, you probably would havebeen right up against him.
So yeah, go ahead and do anattack of opportunity.
Jared (01:24:48):
This is terrifying.
This is terrifying.
I would hate to see likeanybody that I know backwards
walk spider climb up the hillwhile holding my friends.
Gordon (01:25:00):
How does uh attack of
opportunity work?
It's just a regular hit.
Yeah.
So I can't do any of my likebonus stuff or not like that.
Wylie (01:25:06):
No, it's just a normal
hit.
Unless you um if you had somelike some people have like
hellish rebuke or something, like things that they can put on
top of it as a reaction.
Um so sometimes you might haveany something special.
But otherwise it would just belike a normal attack.
Jared (01:25:21):
And I assume I was just a
d20.
Yeah.
Yep.
All right.
Let's send it.
Gordon (01:25:28):
Uh do I do any of my
like strength stuff too?
Yeah.
So 17.
Wylie (01:25:33):
17 to hit.
Okay.
Yeah, you hit him.
Hit him.
Jared (01:25:36):
1d4.
plus your strength.
Alan (01:25:39):
Alright.
Gordon (01:25:44):
Uh three.
Wylie (01:25:45):
Three.
Jared (01:25:46):
Every damage counts.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Wylie (01:25:49):
So as he's moving away
from you, you reach out and
slash one of the tentacles, andum, you're hitting it with your
your pan.
Frying pan, yeah.
Alright.
With the frying pan.
Jared (01:26:02):
Good great the sounds.
Wylie (01:26:04):
So that tentacle moves a
little less.
Jared (01:26:06):
Stop.
Wylie (01:26:07):
And he's now backed away
from you guys over here against
the wall of the kennel and isabout halfway up the wall.
Jared (01:26:13):
How tall are the
ceilings?
Wylie (01:26:15):
Um that makes sense.
Like 15 foot ceilings?
Jared (01:26:18):
Yeah, probably.
Wylie (01:26:19):
Yeah, for this room.
The biosphere is bigger, butthis was fine.
Jared (01:26:23):
Um.
Is it my turn?
Wylie (01:26:27):
Oh wait, yes.
Jared (01:26:28):
Yes.
Uh I will take uh because thatwas my fancy dagger, but I have
a regular dagger, correct?
On me?
Okay.
Uh I'm in full panic mode, soI'm just gonna uh let's see.
Do I have anything that's gonnaactually do anything?
No, forgery kit won't help mehere.
Um you can use a help actionstart raiding someone
(01:26:58):
additionally when you use thehelp action to aid an ally and
attacking the target of theattack can be within 30 feet of
you.
Okay.
So I can't do anything but youuh you at I'm just gonna flat
out attack.
I can't get any of my roguisharchetype things out right now
because I'm here.
Wylie (01:27:15):
And so you're essentially
grappled.
So which means you can stillattack, because you don't
actually have to break away toattack.
Jared (01:27:20):
Uh I'd probably attack
with disadvantage though, right?
Wylie (01:27:23):
Let me tell track uh
Jared (01:27:36):
zero camp of fans.
Uh yeah, there's no there's nodisadvantage.
Yeah, which is fine, becauseyou're just done.
I'll attack.
Uh yeah, natural 15.
Wylie (01:27:48):
Yep, you hit.
Jared (01:27:49):
And then plus uh 1d6,
that's not great.
Uh so three slashing damage.
Um, and I'm like, any kind ofhelp would be helpful here.
Uh thank you for the napthough.
I really appreciate it, Doctor.
Um yeah.
And that's that's the end of myturn.
Um yeah, it's not great.
(01:28:11):
I'm not in a good situation.
I can't really do anything.
Um yeah, that's it.
Uh I can't even go cunningaction.
All right.
I can I'll I'll bonus actioncunning ash and dash, but my uh
speed is zero, so it doesn'treally matter.
It just doubles my zero.
I'm like running in air oflike, please slashing wildly.
(01:28:32):
All right, that's the end of myturn.
Wylie (01:28:35):
Okay, um, you are up,
Gordon.
Gordon (01:28:38):
I'm up now.
Wylie (01:28:39):
Yep.
Gordon (01:28:40):
Okay.
Um just a second.
Jared (01:28:50):
Does Nar look rough?
Does he like look hurt at all?
Wylie (01:28:55):
Um some of the tentacles
look like they're coming off.
Okay.
Jared (01:29:00):
So we're doing damage.
That's good.
Hey, we love to see it.
Gordon (01:29:07):
I'm like trying to think
if we want to figure out how to
get this guy outside.
Jared (01:29:11):
I was saying the same
thing, but we're if I go down in
his arms, I'm done for, dude.
Yeah.
Gordon (01:29:18):
Um can I see if there is
any I guess I don't know if
this is an action, but would Ibe able to see the uh the what
is it, the dagger?
Wylie (01:29:32):
Yeah, it's on the ground.
You can pick it up.
Jared (01:29:33):
Yeah.
Okay, so I'll pick up thedagger.
Sweet.
Although I mean I don't know.
Okay.
Trying to figure out.
Because if he's up the wall, ifhe's climbing up the wall, I
can't just run up to him and hithim.
Wylie (01:29:53):
You're he's still within
reach.
Jared (01:29:54):
He's still within reach.
Wylie (01:29:55):
He's not that far up,
yeah.
Okay.
Gordon (01:29:56):
So first I would need to
actually go over to him.
Yep.
Uh so I'll go over, um, andthen from there.
I think I think with the startof all of this, um kind of this
happening, although Gordon hasbeen a pacifist, the rage is
(01:30:20):
starting to come out.
Let's go.
And so he begin, he's beentrying to hold back and not go
off the rails.
But just with the fightingintents, uh the intensity of the
fighting uh and differentthings, it just it all of the
work that he has done has justput him right back into his old
days.
Uh, and so he just begins toyell.
(01:30:43):
Um I am Gordoram uh and startsto lose it.
Um I guess my other questionwould be um I guess for the DM,
right?
So I do have a battle axe ininventory.
I would assume he has it onhim.
Wylie (01:31:03):
Sure.
Jared (01:31:04):
Okay, cool.
Wylie (01:31:05):
Yeah, if you think that
he that's something that he
would carry around, even thoughhe doesn't expect to use it.
Right.
Gordon (01:31:09):
Well, I think I think he
would probably keep it,
especially with like cuttingwood, different stuff like that,
make fires to cook.
Yeah.
Um definitely so okay.
Boy.
Jared (01:31:18):
Well from a 1D four to a
one D12 or else yeah.
Yeah.
Wylie (01:31:24):
So he has a battle axe
that is hit that he uses for
chopping wood and um, you know, when you occasionally have to,
you know, process a chicken fordinner, you know.
You don't do you try to stickto the eggs mostly, but
sometimes, you know.
Yep.
Gotta have chicken sandwich,
Gordon (01:31:38):
so um so he pulls out
the battle axe is is what he
what it goes with.
Um and he begins to rage.
And so, okay.
So with that, yeah.
Jared (01:31:53):
And if you want a
reckless, then you get
advantage, but they also haveadvantage against attacks
against you.
Do I have reckless?
Yeah.
All barbarians have reckless.
Gordon (01:32:02):
Oh, okay.
I guess I get advantage on him,but he also gets advantage on
me.
Jared (01:32:07):
Everybody would get
advantage on you.
So if it were other enemies, yeah.
Gordon (01:32:10):
Gotcha, um, I'm just
gonna rage, I think, on this
one.
Yeah.
Alright.
Really regretting that redlosing.
Yeah, no, I am.
This is the first time goingangry, you know.
Yeah, yeah.
(01:32:31):
He hasn't done it in a while.
So he just misses.
Wylie (01:32:34):
So Gordon gets so angry,
he runs up, he's grabbing that
axe off of his hip, he'sswinging it up in the air, and
he chops it right into the wallnext to GNar.
Jared (01:32:46):
I feel like there's a
moment between me and GNar where
we both look at each other likewe're both in trouble.
Wylie (01:32:53):
GNar's face is still
strangely expressionless, but
he's he's got you there.
Okay.
Jared (01:32:58):
Okay, with rage, do I get
anything else though?
Um, I think that No, that'sonly on d damage and stuff.
Okay, okay.
Gotcha.
Wylie (01:33:07):
Alan.
Alan (01:33:09):
Um Alan sees Gordon miss.
unknown (01:33:14):
Wow, call out.
Alan (01:33:15):
Call out.
Um, is my thirty.
Are these squares accurate?
Wylie (01:33:25):
Um, roughly.
Okay.
Yeah.
You you can get over to him ifyou need to be within touch.
Alan (01:33:30):
I just I want to get
within 30 feet.
Yeah, you can get within 30feet.
Okay.
So I think that's like justbelow Finn.
Yeah.
Um He's gonna try reduce again.
unknown (01:33:40):
Okay.
Alan (01:33:41):
Yeah.
So another Tony needs anothercon save.
Con save.
Wylie (01:33:48):
Nine.
Alan (01:33:49):
Nice.
Let's go.
Okay.
Wylie (01:33:52):
So you cast reduce.
What does it look like when youcast reduce?
Alan (01:33:56):
Um, so he pulls out out of
another pocket on his belt.
Um let me see what it actuallysays here.
I think it's a pinch ofpowdered iron.
So a pinch of powdered iron outof his little pocket, and he
(01:34:18):
just blows it in the directionof Nar, and you see this
crystallized black powder withlike these nice little
shimmering uh like metallic bitsof metallic bits of of light
fly over to Nar, goes rightaround Jared, and kind of
(01:34:43):
lightly engulfs the body andthen reduces him.
I don't know how small.
Wylie (01:34:50):
Okay.
Alan (01:34:50):
I can make him.
I've I've never uh It's onlyone size smaller.
So one size He'll be the samesize size size as you.
Okay, so there you so he'llhave to automatically now he's a
little a little gnar.
Wylie (01:35:03):
Um so I think that would
make him fall off the wall.
So he just he drops to thefloor, he's standing on his
feet.
He's um gnome size now, so he'sa little um and so Jared, you
he would probably let go of youin the process of and so his his
tentacles get a little bitshorter, his whole body gets
small shorter, he falls to theground, and so now he's standing
(01:35:25):
um nose to nose with Jared.
Jared (01:35:28):
Cool.
Wylie (01:35:29):
A little on the floor.
Alan (01:35:30):
That's one minute with
concentration.
Wylie (01:35:32):
Okay.
And it is his turn up next, andso he's gonna try to grapple
Jared, the only one that's hissize anymore.
Gordon (01:35:48):
It tries to grapple
Gordon if he's going for a leg.
Wylie (01:35:53):
Okay, he rolls a 17 on
his natural 19.
You resist.
So these tentacles are reachingout for you, and and the little
suction cups are kind ofsnagging on your face.
Yeah.
And you're able to just batthem right.
Jared (01:36:07):
No more.
Wylie (01:36:12):
And we go back, and it's
Jared's turn.
Jared (01:36:14):
Oh, now I'm angry.
Um, all right.
I'm going to uh has no rage.
Yeah, I have no rage.
I'm gonna move to the right ofhim so then we can get flanking
if you want to.
Um, and I will attack him.
Uh I don't have advantage, butI will get sneak attack um if I
hit.
Wylie (01:36:30):
Okay.
Jared (01:36:32):
That was so close to the
one, yeah.
Um, but it's a natural 16, uh,so that's a left uh 21, sorry.
21 to hit, okay.
Yeah, and now I got sneakattack.
Uh no holding back.
Um I just don't think it'sgreat.
Um, I should get 3d6, I think.
Uh yep, 3d6, I believe a total.
(01:36:55):
4d6.
Uh oh yeah, that's really good.
Uh uh 15 points of slashingdamage.
Ooh, 15.
I go full security mode and I'mlike, please put everything put
(01:37:17):
your arms down or up.
Um and I slash him.
Gordon (01:37:23):
Just sticks them in
between, doesn't he know what to
do with them.
Jared (01:37:27):
Just go stop.
And that is lethal.
I'm making that lethal.
Lethal.
Wylie (01:37:31):
Okay.
Jared (01:37:32):
I'm going.
I I don't I don't know anythingelse.
I'm panicking.
Wylie (01:37:35):
So with that slash,
multiple tentacles fall on the
floor.
Jared (01:37:43):
Um then hold uh real
quick, is that a door next to
me, right behind me?
Wylie (01:37:49):
Yeah, that could be.
Jared (01:37:51):
Cool.
Um, and then I will um uh touchthe thing and open the is that
the door to the outside?
Wylie (01:37:58):
Mm-hmm.
Jared (01:37:58):
I'll open the door to the
outside so it starts getting
cold in here.
Wylie (01:38:02):
Okay, cool.
Jared (01:38:03):
Um uh actually, can I get
all the way across the room?
Wylie (01:38:09):
Um So you're gonna you're
gonna move.
Jared (01:38:12):
Well, I'm gonna open that
door, but then I'm wondering if
I can lock the door into hereso this guy can't go anywhere.
Wylie (01:38:18):
Um you probably could,
but not on this.
Jared (01:38:20):
Not I bonus action uh
disengage with that alpha and
all or no?
Wylie (01:38:25):
That would help you
disengage, but that wouldn't be
an extra object interaction.
Okay, you get one interactionper turn.
Jared (01:38:30):
Yeah, that's uh uh I will
disengage and go to the door
preparing for that to happen.
Wylie (01:38:34):
Okay, so you open this
door and you're heading back
towards the door that you guyscame in.
Jared (01:38:38):
Yep.
To make sure that becausethat's the only other way in,
correct?
Wylie (01:38:42):
Yeah.
Jared (01:38:42):
Cool.
That's it.
Alan (01:38:44):
Are the tentacles flossing
or they look dead?
Wylie (01:38:47):
Um so they just fell off.
I'd say they're probably stillrulers.
So and four I rolled a D4 iffour of them fell off.
Four of them, okay.
So there's four.
And it's Gordon's turn.
Gordon (01:39:00):
So, okay.
So next to Nar there is a doorthat you have cracked open to
the outside.
Yes.
Wylie (01:39:10):
And the negative
30-degree air is icing in.
As well as some snow becausestorm start to take up.
Gordon (01:39:19):
Uh okay, so my thought
is uh I guess I go up to him and
I want to grapple him to throwhim out the door.
Wylie (01:39:29):
Okay, it's gonna be a um
opposed strength check.
Gordon (01:39:33):
Advantage.
Oh, well, yeah.
Yep.
Because I'm raging you're gonnaget advantageous.
I got a 19.
Wylie (01:39:41):
Um, he rolled a two, so
you definitely see him.
Gordon (01:39:46):
Is he small?
Wylie (01:39:48):
He's tiny.
I imagine you just you put yourbig hand on his now tiny head
and just kind of lift his andhis little so you're not really
touching the tentacles, andyou're kind of and all the
little tentacles are and youjust you chuck him out the door.
Gordon (01:40:03):
All right.
Love it.
Wylie (01:40:05):
Okay.
Um, so you throw him out intothe snow.
At this time, um, Jared, youwere going over to the door that
you guys came in from.
That door swings open.
Java comes running through, holding that that pitcher that
he had, his special artifact, and he says, I'm here, guys, I
got it.
And he sees the tentacleswrithing on the floor and he
(01:40:28):
runs up and he dumps acid ontothem.
And the tentacles fizzle andburn and disintegrate.
Java Script (01:40:40):
And he and he says,
I'm glad I made it here in
time, guys.
Jared (01:40:44):
It's the hero.
Wylie (01:40:48):
And he looks so proud.
He's got a hand on his hip, andhe's and he's like, I told you
guys this artifact was special.
Gordon (01:40:56):
Now Gordon's like, oops.
Just threw the guy out.
Wylie (01:41:01):
Did you shut the door or
did you leave the door open?
It's open.
Okay.
Gordon (01:41:03):
Yeah, I just threw him
out.
Wylie (01:41:05):
Okay, so we'll say in
initiative because he's out
there.
Um, that was Gordon's turn.
Alan, you're up next.
Alan (01:41:11):
Okay.
Alan sees that and goes, Oh.
Walks out to the entrance thedoor that's open.
Wylie (01:41:18):
Okay, walk up to the
door.
Alan (01:41:19):
Am I within 30 feet of our
cool.
Uh I cast acid splash at Narzytentacles coming out of him.
Wylie (01:41:30):
Okay.
Ooh, eleven.
Alan (01:41:33):
Okay, you fail.
Wylie (01:41:34):
Okay.
Alan (01:41:35):
So you take two D6 of
acid.
That's awesome.
One plus four.
Five.
Wylie (01:41:43):
Okay.
Um, so five total.
All right.
You see any of the othertentacles that were sticking out
of his body burn.
Perfect.
Um, sorry, Nar.
Nar's tiny acid-covered bodylooks rough.
Alan (01:41:58):
Yeah.
Wylie (01:41:59):
Is looking rough out
there in the cold.
Okay.
Um, that was Alan.
And now it goes to Nar.
Um, he's going to come towardsthe door, um, but he can't move
very fast out there in the cold.
The cold has the slowing effecton him.
So he's trudging towards thedoor, but very, very cold.
(01:42:19):
And that's the end of his turn.
So, Jared.
Jared (01:42:23):
Yeah, um, I'll come, I'll
come back over to the door.
Um, and I'm the exterior door?
Yeah, he looks pretty rough,right?
Yeah.
Uh, I'm gonna do uh non-lethaland hit him in the back of the
head.
Wylie (01:42:37):
Okay.
The front of the head becausehe's facing you?
Jared (01:42:38):
Yes, the front of the
head.
Well, I'll I'll rotate aroundhim because I'm so run outside?
Yeah, I'll run outside and I'llrotate it around him.
Okay.
Uh so I can get advantage onthis.
Wylie (01:42:46):
Okay.
Jared (01:42:48):
Uh 15 to hit?
Wylie (01:42:49):
Hits.
Jared (01:42:50):
Okay.
And then I will not do firedamage.
Uh, and it's non-lethal, but Istill get sneak attack.
Oh, that's so good.
Oh my gosh.
Sneak as egg is awesome.
Um, I should play more rogues.
Uh, that's 16 non-lethalslashing damage.
He falls unconscious.
Nice.
Pop.
Um, and then I'm like, cansomebody help me?
(01:43:12):
Uh Ram Shield, help me.
Hey, big guy.
Hey, big guy.
Hey, the sun is setting.
The sun is setting.
I have red hair.
I'm scared.
Um, I'll be like, No, someonejust starts saying uh it's like
uh to remember, remember yourmacarons recipe.
(01:43:34):
Macarons, macarons! And hestarts his we're all breathing.
Okay.
Can you help me bring this guyin?
Gordon (01:43:43):
Sure, sure, no problem.
Jared (01:43:45):
What did you figure out?
Did you figure out that we canlike get the squid out of him or
a Java?
Speaker 10 (01:43:51):
Yeah.
Wylie (01:43:51):
You're speaking of Java?
Java Script (01:43:52):
Um, Java says, um
no, like, remember you guys left
because the dogs were barky, and then like two minutes later
you were screaming on theradios.
Yeah.
I just I just full panicked.
I just got here
Jared (01:44:02):
I'm crying.
Java Script (01:44:02):
Um I haven't had a
lot of time to do research yet
because I was busy saving theday with my artifact.
Jared (01:44:08):
I don't need that SAS
right now.
You've caught this guy up somuch now.
He's like, I am the hero.
Wylie (01:44:15):
You told him he's a hero
when he came in.
Java Script (01:44:16):
He's like, it seems
really important to come help
you guys.
And obviously it was.
Jared (01:44:20):
Yeah, you did a great
job.
Java Script (01:44:22):
Maybe next time you
guys go on an excursion, you
should bring me to.
Jared (01:44:25):
Well, do you want to be
infected?
Yeah, that's what I thought.
Java Script (01:44:31):
infected with what?
Seems like seems like someonegot infected here.
Yeah, exactly.
Seems like maybe goingsomewhere else might be better.
Jared (01:44:38):
All right.
We'll talk about it later.
Gordon (01:44:40):
Um I was like infected
Heroism a bit.
Jared (01:44:44):
Man, this guy's a pain.
Gordon (01:44:47):
Um you created a
narcissist.
Yeah, exactly.
Jared (01:44:53):
Um, we need to figure out
a way to um save Nar, uh, or do
we just kill Nar?
Wylie (01:45:00):
Or like I'm like I'm
like, I'm really out of it.
Um Java looks out the door.
Have you guys brought Nar backin?
Okay, unconscious.
Jared (01:45:12):
Keep the door open so the
cold air is still pouring.
Wylie (01:45:15):
Give him the cold.
You gotta have it looking inin.
Java's here now.
Java Script (01:45:18):
Um he says, well, I
need to do some research about
how the acid affects the thecells of this creature, perhaps.
So um uh maybe we could keepDar in a cold place.
Jared (01:45:33):
Yeah, we'll put him in
one of the uh or just um outside
the research lab.
Gordon (01:45:39):
Okay, listen here.
What we do is we get anotherbucket and we put him in the hot
order.
Alan (01:45:46):
I know you had a minute
has passed at this point.
Wylie (01:45:49):
Yeah, so at this point in
Nar expanded.
And he he was right by thedoor, so he's now half in, half
out of the door.
His head's out in the snow andhis feet are in the kennel.
Jared (01:45:59):
Well, we're going to need
a bigger bucket, okay?
Um, okay.
Uh we uh Okay, I think the playis to take Nar out and put him
outside in the cold um by theresearch lab.
Wylie (01:46:21):
Right like the door right
outside.
Yeah.
Jared (01:46:24):
Um So a storm is coming.
Yeah, so we'll close this door.
We're gonna go outside, or uhwe'll drag him through the
thing.
To the snow?
Yeah, through the snow.
Okay outside.
Wylie (01:46:35):
That's cool with you
guys.
So Java says, Alright, I'llbeat you at the research lab.
Cool.
Okay.
So heading to the research lab.
Jared (01:46:43):
Cool.
Oh man.
That was stressful.
I got hurt more by my alliesthan Nar.
Kipo (01:46:51):
But put to sleep hit with
a pan
Wylie (01:46:54):
I don't think Nar was
able to do any damage to anyone.
Yeah.
Jared (01:46:57):
I I have 15 HP and I
started at 21 because so glad
you weren't using your battleaxe.
Gordon (01:47:04):
Yeah, yeah, that's a
good thing.
Jared (01:47:05):
Yeah.
Wylie (01:47:07):
Okay.
Okay.
So Java's gonna do someresearch.
Um, you could probably take ashort rest and use some hit die
if you would like.
Um and what do you guys dowhile Java is doing research?
I'm gonna say he needs an hourto do research.
Jared (01:47:23):
Um I pick up my uh or
I'll can I grab my uh I'll be
like, hey, can I have my uhknife back?
Sure, sure.
You you can have your knifeback.
Thank you.
Um and I will go uh eat lunch.
Or dinner.
Dinner.
Yeah, dinner, yeah.
Wylie (01:47:40):
Dinner, which is just
instant.
It's instant.
Gordon (01:47:43):
The gumbo's ready.
Yeah, the gumbo.
It's instant gumbo, but it'sready.
Wylie (01:47:47):
Because you were just
playing overcooked the whole
time.
Speaker 1 (01:47:49):
Yeah.
Wylie (01:47:53):
It was overcooked on
Switch.
It just gonna be so funny ifGordon has a little Nintendo
Switch just hanging out onArcane Switch.
Gordon (01:48:02):
Yeah, yeah.
There you go.
Wylie (01:48:05):
Um Okay, so um I assume
while Jared's resting, he's
probably keeping an eye onNara's body, seeing if he
regains consciousness, but beingknocked unconscious and in the
cold.
Jared (01:48:17):
Yep.
Wylie (01:48:17):
There's nothing really
happening.
So Java does some research.
Um, Gordon finishes dinner.
Um and so do you guys want todo your dinner time team meeting
or do you want to discussresearch in the research lab?
Jared (01:48:31):
Well, I have to talk to
Pyra.
Gordon (01:48:32):
Right, I know.
There's another like meeting.
Jared (01:48:34):
So Yeah.
Do you guys want to do researchand I'll do Pyra meeting?
You guys want to split up more?
Or we can bring Pyra in hereand just do the meeting with
Pyra.
Wylie (01:48:43):
Yeah.
Yeah.
Or you or you could do researchmeeting, dinner, and then, you
know, because we'll probablyneed to figure out.
Jared (01:48:48):
Older at eight o'clock.
We can't push it up.
Well, you could push up alittle bit,
Gordon (01:48:52):
but she's pretty
excited.
Alan (01:48:54):
Yeah, she is.
And that we actually get to doit.
Mention that, yeah, you get toblow up some stuff.
Yeah, she'll be right over coolon it.
Jared (01:49:01):
Um sweet.
I will uh uh do that.
We'll have the meeting and thenuh uh we'll have the meeting in
the research uh area because Iwant to show her the the tape
too.
Wylie (01:49:13):
Okay, okay, cool.
Awesome.
Okay, so do you radio Pyra tocome join you?
Jared (01:49:18):
Yeah, but Pyra, got some
great news for ya.
Um our meetings moved up, andmaybe explosives moved up
further.
Pyra Ember (01:49:29):
All right, very
good.
Where are we meeting?
Uh research lab in ten minutes.
Alright, is there food?
Jared (01:49:37):
I'm eating gumbo as we
speak.
Wylie (01:49:41):
Okay.
So I I imagine uh Gordon bringshis crock pot of gumbo.
Gordon (01:49:46):
He's got his rice and
his gumbo.
Jared (01:49:49):
Nice.
This is so good.
I can't believe it's insta.
That's crazy.
Gordon (01:49:54):
No, no, you don't know.
Pyra Ember (01:49:56):
Oh it would be
better if he had the right
spices.
Gordon (01:50:01):
All right.
Um you're trying to get alittle bit of that jelly to
throw in there.
Oh, okay.
Java Script (01:50:08):
And Java sees this
and he's like, Oh, I wouldn't do
that if I were you.
Gordon (01:50:12):
Okay, if you say so.
Sold a wrong with spice.
Wylie (01:50:17):
Java's like, I'll tell
you one second.
So as you dive into themeeting, um, in this hour of
research, um, Java says, Allright, here's the things that
I've determined.
Java Script (01:50:29):
This purple jelly
is the same substance as these
mushrooms and tentacles.
So it seems to be a sort ofliquefied form of the same
cells.
On a microscopic level, it'sexactly the same thing.
Um, but this jelly is alsostill a little bit alive in some
(01:50:50):
ways.
Um it's like the X, it's uhparalyzed.
Jared (01:50:59):
A full person.
You're in a full person.
And I just wanna I'm sayingthat out loud.
You ate a full person.
Java Script (01:51:08):
Um so the the the
bad thing is you did eat
something that was alive.
The good thing is we have acidin our stomach.
Nice.
And I do believe the acid seemsto destroy this creature
completely.
Um, in my research, it isimmune to fire damage.
Oh but it does not like thecold at all.
(01:51:31):
Um, you said this came from uhcaverns, and in the research
notes it seems that it likeswarm and humid environment.
So it's not meant to survive onthe tundra.
It will not get far out here.
Um so that's a good thing.
Jared (01:51:47):
Cool.
Java Script (01:51:47):
Um the bad thing is
these cells seem to replicate
and be able to mimic othercells, um, like the cells of
other creatures.
So that is part of the problemthat we're having with gnar, is
it seems that the cells fromthis creature have gotten into
gnar and are mimicking andcontrolling gnar cells.
(01:52:07):
Aaron Powell Okay.
Jared (01:52:08):
So how do we destroy the
cells and like split that?
Java Script (01:52:11):
Well, acid does
seem to fully destroy this
creature.
Jared (01:52:14):
Okay.
So we're just gonna give theman acid bath.
Alan (01:52:18):
Thank goodness it's a
cantrip.
Acid split.
Acid splash.
Yeah.
Jared (01:52:23):
Acid bath the cantrip.
Acid bath.
Yes.
Java Script (01:52:28):
But I am worried
that it will be hard to destroy
the monster's cells and not NARScells.
Yeah.
Because acid just that issplashed from my amazing
pitcher, um, or from Dr.
Fizzard here, because he isquite a powerful wizard.
With this cantrip.
Jared (01:52:47):
He's actually asleep in
his chair.
Alan (01:52:49):
That's when that is what
he's doing.
Yeah, he's a sleepingchairwind.
He got it back.
Yeah, he's an out full.
Yeah.
Wylie (01:52:57):
He's been asleep the
entire meeting.
Jared (01:53:02):
Um so um so Nart's dead.
We're just gonna gum up.
We're in.
Java Script (01:53:11):
Um maybe with more
time I could figure out a better
application for acid.
Um, maybe a more stable.
Jared (01:53:19):
Yeah, can we like drink
for something?
Java Script (01:53:23):
Um, I would not
advise drinking it at this time,
but um as I could maybecontinue to look at the notes, I
might have a bit more of ananswer for you.
Um it is difficult because itseems that when um the host body
is dead, that this creature maysplit off into other pieces.
Jared (01:53:45):
Whoa.
Um is there like uh how manyother pieces?
Java Script (01:53:51):
Well, it's hard to
say.
I mean it seems like NARS here, but um like when you cut off
the tentacles, yeah.
And they were still moving andthings.
Okay.
Jared (01:54:01):
So I'm just curious,
because if NARS infected, who
else is infected?
That's kind of what I'mthinking about in the in the
area as a security issue.
Java Script (01:54:09):
Um That is a good
question.
Jared (01:54:11):
Is there any way to like
tell if somebody's been infected
or not?
Man.
Java Script (01:54:16):
I mean Nar started
what did you see about Nar?
Was he?
H
Jared (01:54:21):
He didn't, he wasn't
lazy.
So that was kind of that's kindof a hint.
Java Script (01:54:27):
Right, I'm a little
out of character.
Yeah.
Jared (01:54:30):
You got angry.
That's a little out ofcharacter.
Are you infected?
Gordon (01:54:33):
I did eat the jelly.
No, no, no.
I feel just fine.
Java Script (01:54:39):
I know I wouldn't
eat any more because the stomach
acid, that's just a hypothesis.
Obviously, I can't really testit uh until we've had further
observation.
So maybe don't put it on yourtoast or anything though.
Jared (01:54:51):
But okay, so we uh I'm
gonna turn the pyra I'm gonna be
like I know how much you loveTNT.
Oh, they're immune to fire.
So can we make like an acidgrenade or something like that?
Pyra Ember (01:55:06):
She and she's well I
don't have very much acid.
I don't have any acid.
Jared (01:55:12):
I have dynamite, I have
We have an infinity gulp of
acid.
Pyra Ember (01:55:16):
You have an infinite
gulf of acid.
Jared (01:55:19):
Well, we do have an
infinite gulp of acids.
The 7-Eleven acid.
Infinite gulp.
Pyra Ember (01:55:27):
Alright, where'd you
get this thing?
Jared (01:55:29):
Um, and I point at the
And Java's holding it proudly.
Java Script (01:55:33):
It's the thing we
found on top of the snow that
you said was just trash.
Jared (01:55:37):
Hey, hey, that's
enough of the sas.
Or else we're gonna take youoff this project, alright?
You need to lock in over here, buddy.
Java Script (01:55:47):
But I'm gonna roll
with being right.
Jared (01:55:49):
Yeah, I know.
And then when you're not, you're gonna get us all killed.
Like the stomach acid thing.
Put it down.
Slaps.
Speaker 1 (01:56:01):
Yes, no.
Wylie (01:56:04):
Gordon was putting it on
a cracker with some brie.
Speaker 1 (01:56:07):
Yeah, yeah.
No.
Java Script (01:56:10):
Oh, that's not a
charcuterie tray.
Gordon (01:56:13):
It's a clipboard.
Jared (01:56:17):
Um, okay.
Alright, let's um let's see ifwe can make like uh acid bombs
and then blow up the other base, because that's kind of what
where we gotta do.
Um and then we should alsomaybe have a uh having a dinner
meeting also, and then keep oureyes out and see if anybody's
(01:56:39):
acting a little suspicious.
And Pyra says h so manymeetings.
You know, I get it.
I'm really coming around toeverybody.
Pyra Ember (01:56:50):
All right, so I work
on bomb?
Jared (01:56:53):
You work on big boom.
All right, big boom.
It needs to be big enough todestroy the base that we were
in.
Speaker 10 (01:56:58):
And the cavern
below.
And the cav.
Oh my cool cavern or just cavein?
No, everything.
Jared (01:57:03):
Get it all gone.
Nuclear bomb symbols floatingaround her head.
Like when we hair in her eyes, she's light up.
Java Script (01:57:14):
Um, and and Java
pipes it, um, we might need to
notify the Gnomish and DwarvenAlliance.
Um they're not, I mean, communications are down because
of the storm, but uh, we do needto try to reach out because
they will not be happy.
Jared (01:57:27):
Cool.
Um if we just blew up the writea letter.
Sends it in the mail.
All right.
Uh I will send out that uhthing and I'll put it on loop so
the next time somebody uhcomes, it'll be like, hey, this
is what's going on.
Wylie (01:57:47):
Okay, so you do a
broadcast mess message.
Jared (01:57:50):
Yep.
Okay.
Nice.
Um just not to the so theydon't know.
Wylie (01:57:56):
Okay.
Jared (01:57:56):
The base can't hear it.
Wylie (01:57:57):
Yeah, it's like
broadcasting back to your base,
your your um Arcane intelligencewho it establishes it.
So your contact there, you'resending out a message.
So you use your message thingto send, you don't get a
response at this time.
Yep.
Jared (01:58:10):
But it's on loop, so even
if I'm not if like even if we
go down, everybody knows what'sgoing on.
So even when they teleport in,they know what's up.
Uh and acid is reallyeffective, all that jazz, like
everything that we've learned.
Wylie (01:58:23):
Okay.
Um, so you can't send all ofthat in one message.
Jared (01:58:26):
Okay.
Wylie (01:58:27):
So you you'd be limited.
So what would be the like highpoint like overview that you can
send back to arcaneintelligence?
Jared (01:58:34):
Uh the ability and uh
that they can copy people and
that there is like a uh entitythat is copying people and that
is vulnerable to acid and uhlike basically all the facts as
immune to fire, vulnerable toacid.
(01:58:56):
Yep.
Um and can copy people'smannerisms and become part of
their cell cells.
And when they die, they splitoff.
Be very careful.
Cold temperatures.
Wylie (01:59:07):
Yes, cold temperatures
slow and restrained.
Jared (01:59:09):
Yep.
Wylie (01:59:09):
Okay.
unknown (01:59:10):
Cool.
Wylie (01:59:10):
Awesome.
Okay.
So I think that we will regroupwith your team meeting in our
