Wylie (01:00):
All right, this is
Blunders and Dragons, and I am
your host, Wylie Sloane.
Kipo (01:05):
I'm your host, Kipo.
Mimir (01:07):
I'm your host, Mimir.
Brad (01:09):
I'm not your host, Brad.
Wylie (01:14):
And uh today for our
behind the scenes episode, we're
gonna be chatting about ourpersonal experiences with DD,
how we got connected with DD,and some of the things that we
enjoy about it.
Um so who let's roll to see whogoes first.
Oh gosh.
Kipo (01:31):
What do you want?
Oh 20.
Wylie (01:34):
It'll be our initiative
order.
Kipo (01:37):
That's not good.
That's not good.
I got a net one.
Brad (01:40):
I got a net one.
I'm gonna roll a net one.
Mimir (01:43):
That's first.
I rolled a natural nine.
So there's that.
Wylie (01:48):
Well, I rolled an eleven.
Brad (01:51):
It's gonna be a great
start.
Wylie (01:52):
You know, it's good for
getting those bad rolls out
right now.
Um I rolled an 11, so twonatural ones put together.
So I think that means that I amdestined to start us off.
unknown (02:04):
Makes sense.
Okay.
Wylie (02:07):
So my uh my first
experience with DD was I was on
a road trip with my husband.
It was a long road trip acrossmultiple states.
And he was like, Here, I foundsomething to play.
I think it'll be, you know, toplay in the car.
I think it'll be fun to listento.
And I at he at the time thatpodcast was called Drunks and
Dragons.
It has now changed to GreetingsAdventurers.
(02:29):
Um, but he put that on and weplayed it in the car.
And I didn't really knowanything about DD at the time,
maybe just a little bit ofexposure from Stranger Things
and some other media.
Um, but I really enjoyed it,and I thought that it was a
really fun way of storytellingand having adventures together.
So that's where it started.
(02:49):
And I listened to a lot of DDpodcasts um over time.
Um, I love listening to DDpodcasts when I'm doing my
chores, um, you know, drivingfor long distances.
So that's been um, you know, areally fun way to fill up the
time and keep it enjoyable.
And then uh during COVID, I hada group of friends that had
(03:11):
started playing DD and theystarted playing remote and they
invited me to join.
And I was really, reallyexcited, and it was great
because it was during COVID.
So we were playing remotely, but we had the opportunity to
play together consistentlybecause it was COVID and we
didn't have much else to do.
And uh for me that was it wasreally great to have a group of
(03:32):
friends that I knew I was gonnaget to see every week and to
have those friendships, not justthe game, but to have that
consistency of like friends toto keep you going and that you
were gonna see.
And um, so it wasn't just aboutthe gameplay, but definitely
that was a big part of it.
unknown (03:49):
Nice.
Wylie (03:50):
All right, um, I guess
our next one is Mimir.
unknown (03:53):
Yes, I'm Mamir.
Um I started uh watching, so II did improv uh in high school,
but I was a jock, so it was likemy like side hustle basically,
is doing uh improv in highschool, starting an improv club,
things like that.
Um, and then I started watchinguh DD Critical Rule, episode uh
I think like five or six, um,and I was like, what is going on
(04:17):
here?
Like on Twitch that I saw itpop up and I was like, alright,
I'll I'll watch this.
I saw Travis Willingham, thisbig jock dude, and I was like,
alright, this guy can play DD,that means I can too.
Um and it's not all nerdy andstuff.
So I was like, okay.
Um, and so I was like lookingaround for DD people, and I
(04:40):
heard one of my friends uhplayed, um, and I saw her in the
store, and I was like, hey, like just in public in the
store, hey, do you like stillplay DD and stuff?
I would love to join.
She was like, no, but I knowthis person uh that plays, and
so I r went over to this randomperson's house and started.
(05:01):
He's like one of my bestfriends now, started playing DD.
That was in 2015.
I've been playing for about 10years now.
Uh I've been DMing also forlike five uh probably six or
seven years.
Um memorized all 5e um verymuch.
Uh yeah.
Love, love DD, love the chaoticnature of it, the storytelling
(05:24):
um aspect of it.
Um yeah, love everything aboutit.
Wylie (05:28):
Awesome.
Alright, I think we need a rolloff between Brad and Kipo.
Brad (05:35):
Fifteen?
Eleven.
For the wedding.
Uh yeah, I'm Brad.
Um, let's see.
I think it's mmm.
What?
How long has it been since Istarted?
What would you say?
Kipo (05:52):
Um was it winter time?
Brad (05:55):
No, it was winter?
Yeah, I think it's been aboutlike four or five months.
Yeah.
Maybe it's six months by now.
I don't know.
It's somewhere.
Wylie (06:03):
I think it was March or
April that we had our first
session together.
Brad (06:06):
So um, yeah, so Kippo over
here, um we we become friends
and we uh introduced each otherto each other's hobbies.
Uh I introduced him to discgolf because that's what I love
to do.
Rip it and rip it.
Yeah.
And uh so he introduced me to DD.
Um yeah, for me, I've alwaysbeen curious about D D.
(06:29):
Um, but I I was never reallyhad the chance to play or
anything.
I had been invited to play onetime, but just schedule-wise, I
wasn't able really to commit.
Um greatest killer of all DD isschedules.
And so um when Kippo hadinvited, he said, Hey, we we
just uh you know um schedule aswe can play.
(06:51):
And so I was like, Yeah, thatthat works for me and my
schedule.
So uh just started getting intothe world of DD, listening to
podcasts, trying to figure outhow to play.
Um got to play a few sessions.
Uh how uh met a lot of theseguys.
So yeah, I'm somewhat new toit, but enjoy and uh it's been a
(07:11):
lot of fun.
Wylie (07:12):
So you've played like two
or three sessions, right?
Brad (07:16):
I think it's just two.
Mimir (07:18):
I'm so ready.
Yeah.
I'm so ready.
Wylie (07:21):
That's okay.
That'll be fun for ourlisteners who are newer to the
game as well, for sure.
But you also have listened tosome DD media, right?
Brad (07:29):
Correct, yeah, yeah.
Uh I listened to a lot of uhwhat, Tales from the Stinky
Dragon.
Uh, I've listened to uhDungeons and Daddies, um, a
little bit of critical role.
Yeah, just a little bit hereand there been checking out.
Wylie (07:41):
Nice.
Alright, K ipo.
Kipo (07:43):
That leaves me.
Yeah.
Um, so kind of like Mimir, Iwas introduced around uh 2016.
Um back in college.
So my roommate and and bestfriend, um, we were kind of
watching Stranger Things, andthat kind of inspired him to get
(08:08):
into it, and so I uh was justdoing what a friend would do and
support him when he said, Hey,I really want to play DD.
Like, okay, like I love gamesand stuff like that, but I had
never played um any tabletopRPGs or anything like that.
So yeah, we uh we got startedand all newbies, all five of us,
(08:30):
uh had never played before.
We played for about twosemesters um weekly.
So we had some nice uhexperience growing there, but um
we uh we just kind of disbandedafter about a year, people
started moving and graduating, and so we had to stop.
(08:51):
And so I didn't pick it back upuntil we moved uh to here.
Can I say where that is?
Okay, yeah, in Alaska, so um Ididn't know if we were doing
locations.
Uh so yeah, once we moved up toAlaska in 2020, um I had not
played since 2016 and madefriends with uh Mamir's friend,
(09:14):
and they invited me into theirgroup uh to just play a session,
and it just re-ignited my lovefor this game and the the worlds
that you can be in and createand the characters and yeah, so
just on and off over the pastfive years.
Uh just been pla uh playing abit, learned a DM, and I uh I'm
(09:38):
very excited.
Wylie (09:40):
Yeah, as Kippo mentioned,
we are all in Alaska right now.
Um, and I think Alaska is aperfect environment for playing
DD because while the summers areamazing, the winters are cold
and dark and long, and that'syou know, you're not missing
outside.
So it gives you a nice way togo on adventures, uh, but still
(10:00):
just stay in in your house atyour kitchen table or in your
basement, like we are right now.
Um I'm gonna ask a reallydivisive question.
Critical role or dimension 20.
Oh man.
What is your preference?
unknown (10:18):
Preference.
Goodness gracious.
Wylie (10:20):
It's just what you
personally prefer.
We we all acknowledge thatthey're both fantastic, right?
Nobody hates either one.
They're we love Dimension 20,we love critical role, but
personal preference.
Mimir (10:31):
I think for the
storytelling aspect, um
Dimension 20 has more fun, hasmore fun moments, and they do
have very serious moments, um,but they have more fun moments,
and I love um the way uhBrennan Lee Mulligan uh does his
style of like fun, encouraging, and things like that.
(10:52):
On uh the reverse side, um, soI won't give you an answer, but
on the reverse side, uh CriticalRole does a fantastic job of
like drawing you in, um, makingyou want to play DD and just
being like, oh, I am living themoment, living the time.
Um, and so uh I love them bothequally.
(11:12):
Um and I love I love the wayMatthew Mercer just uh you you
feel in the world during themoment and the time and things
like that that's happening.
So good at that.
Yeah, yeah.
Both of them do a fantasticjob.
Um, and they're about to startuh their fourth session or
(11:32):
fourth uh campaign at the timeof this recording.
Um and so Brennan I I'm soexcited to see, like I love the
them talking to each other andstuff, and that's awesome.
It's been so cool.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Did you pick one?
Or did you just I refuse topick one?
I love both of them equally fordifferent aspects.
(11:54):
Um yeah, yeah, love them.
Kipo (11:57):
I agree with you
wholeheartedly.
My introduction was uh throughcritical critical role, but
specifically through DN Diesel, where it was Matt Mercer and Vin
Diesel.
Oh, I love that.
And they did just a littleone-shot, and that is just
what's cemented in my brain.
Um but as the years have goneon, I've just become a huge fan
(12:19):
of Brennan Lee Mulligan and justthe way he that he does things.
But they're both great.
Uh but if I had to pick one, Iwould pick Dimension 20.
Wylie (12:27):
Have you heard uh
Critical Rolls um one-shot Crash
Pandas?
Kipo (12:31):
Yes.
No, yeah.
Wylie (12:33):
Oh, you gotta listen to
Crash Pandas is fantastic.
Anyone who's on a road trip,that's great.
One shot to listen to.
Crash Pandas is really, really, really funny.
Um, and it's fun.
I think Sam Regal DMs that oneactually, and so you get to hear
Matt Mercer actually playing asa player.
And it's so fun to get him, tolet him, you know, get that
opportunity to be a player.
Kipo (12:52):
Yeah.
Wylie (12:52):
Um and there's lots of
they do lots of great voices in
there and stuff too.
Um, so that's definitely areally fun one.
Mimir (12:59):
Kipo's already uh taking
notes over here.
And it's the session hasn'teven started.
Wylie (13:04):
More things to listen to
on the way home.
Brad, you want to go next?
Brad (13:08):
Yeah, let's see.
Again, I'm new to the world, soso there's that.
Wylie (13:14):
Um have you been listened
to both or seen both?
Brad (13:16):
I so I've seen clips uh
from Dimension 20, so and it
looks hilarious, and it lookslike it's really good.
Uh so I definitely want tostart listening to it.
Um, so but what I've listenedto majority-wise has been
critical role.
So I'd probably have to gocritical role at the moment,
mostly because that's what I'vegotten into to start.
(13:36):
So but yeah, for the for themoment I'll say critical role.
Wylie (13:41):
Yeah.
Brad (13:41):
Um, I definitely enjoy uh
Matt Mercer's uh his NPCs are
some of them are just crack meup and are hilarious.
Specifically is uh I can'tremember the the NPC's name, but
it's the one where he basicallydoes uh black powder.
Yeah, and I was literallythinking about the same guy
(14:02):
because people swing!
Mimir (14:04):
Yeah, he's like every
time you see him, he's missing
fingers.
Oh, it's so good.
Oh, it's brilliant.
Yeah.
Brad (14:13):
So yeah, so that's I have
to sit with critical role for
the moment, yeah.
Wylie (14:17):
Yeah.
I think critical role is reallygreat when I haven't gotten to
actually play in a long time, and I'm just really itching for
that real sitting down at atable campaign experience
because I think uh Critical Roleis more traditional.
Um so I definitely and theyhave so many great players, and
Matt Mercer builds such a greatworld.
So I really enjoy listening toit.
(14:39):
But I think um, like, especially if I'm you know going
around doing stuff, I thinkthat Dimension 20 is just a
little bit more playful um andnot as strict to the rules, um,
in in a way that makes sense, right?
You gotta have the rules, yougotta follow the rules.
But I think um Brennan LeeMulligan's style of DMing um is
(15:00):
very much a style that I want toemulate in my DMing and enjoy.
But I love it when Dimension 20and Critical Role get together
because that's just likegreatness upon greatness.
Um and I I remember uh BrennanLee Mulligan was DMing for
Calamity, yeah, and um there wasjust these great moments that
he painted.
I think someone got a nat 20, Ithink um Travis got a Nat 20
(15:24):
trying to spot somebody whohappened to be invisible.
And the way that Brennan LeeMulligan described that as you
know the light reflecting offthe back of that that little bit
of iris that you still need tocapture the light and be able to
see, and it was just such areally good way of describing
it, or as a character is walkingthrough their home and and
seeing the marks of like theirtheir kids' fingerprints on the
(15:44):
walls and and things like that, and it just really painted a
really beautiful, emotional umand captivating picture while
still you know following therules of D & D and being really
fun at the same time.
So if I have to pick, I'm I'mpicking Dimension 20, but they
I'm really excited for thismashup that's coming for them in
season four, too.
So um, so what is everybody'sfavorite either character that
(16:08):
they've ever played, which Braddoes not have many.
I think he's got one choose.
One or um or your favoriteclass, or if you don't have a
favorite class because youhaven't played many, a class
that you'd really like to play.
So I'll go I'll go first withmy favorite one.
Um I got to play um, we wereplaying um Rime of the Frost
(16:31):
Maiden, and I got to play achangeling rogue, and that was
such a fun, fun character forthat adventure.
Rogues in general, I think, arejust gonna be my favorite
class, but also getting to be achangeling.
Um we just had some really epicmoments um of using that
ability um to infiltrate placesand stuff.
(16:53):
And uh yeah, I just love I lovesome of the the tricks about a
rogue.
You have to really payattention with a rogue, I think,
to really take advantage of allthe stuff that they can do, but
that was a favorite for me.
Mimir (17:06):
Um yeah, I it's hard
because I DM more than I play.
Um and I love DMing.
I love the story uh aspect ofDMing.
Um I I know my favorite likeclass is Bard, um, but I don't
know if I have a I I I love, andthis is maybe just pridefulness
on on my my end, but I love umplaying uh any of my characters.
(17:32):
Like I have a character doubledouble O Savon, who is a Bard
that is like uh mobster, old manthat's trying to retire but he
can't because he you know allthat jazz.
Or I have like a paladin, whichis high charisma, but he
actually has a low charisma andhe uses his wisdom instead of
his charisma um as aspellcasting modifier.
(17:52):
Um yeah, and they're like allthose.
I just love the story aspect ofDD, and so I can play any
character, um, and uh I love uhplaying any kind of that.
But yeah, I would say Bard ismy uh I love the utility of
Bard.
I love being able to be like, alright, like I see a
circumstance and I can do fivedifferent things and just make
(18:16):
it happen and use somethingthat's not uh normal or original
and be like, oh, instead of Ihit somebody, I can actually go
and like make an illusion andthen get advantage because they
think there's two people uhattacking them, but they're not.
So something like that.
Yeah.
Yeah, that's true.
Wylie (18:33):
Because Bard, you don't
you're not straight combat.
Yeah.
You know, you can you can docombat, but you can also use
your charisma.
Yeah, and like you use utility, yeah.
Mimir (18:42):
And I think I think it's
awesome to have those like story
pools.
So I always any class that I Iever play, any character I ever
play is always has a negativestat.
Um and so it's your guys' jobto figure out where my negative
stat is.
Um in this character.
Um but yeah, yeah.
So every character has anegative stat in in my games.
So yeah.
(19:03):
Nice.
Kipo (19:06):
It is tough to pick after
you've done so many characters.
Uh my first thought was just, you know, your first character
is always just close to yourheart.
Uh usually something thatyou've been uh holding on to for
a while.
And the fun part with mine, souh Montel Dallas was his name.
Wylie (19:26):
That's such a good name.
Kipo (19:27):
It it really is.
It's uh I don't know if he'llever listen to this, but it was
uh some dude that I uh s had inmy English community uh college
class, and his name was Oh, thatwas someone's real name.
Montel Dallas, yeah.
And and just this big uh blackdude with dreads and wore the
(19:48):
largest belt buckle I've everseen uh on his jeans, and I I
just thought he was such acharacter in that class, and
that his name was so epic that Ihad to name my first DD
character after him.
Wylie (20:00):
Um his parents knew what
they were doing.
They didn't like it.
Yeah, no, no, they really did.
They were locked up.
Kipo (20:05):
Shout out to Montel Dallas
where wherever he is, I hope I
hope he's doing well.
But uh the fun part uh withthat character is that I got to
bring him back five years laterafter um after I had first
played him and uh kind of got tolevel him up a bit and and just
have another uh shot at playingwith him.
So that was that was reallygood.
(20:26):
I I'm looking looking over atMimir here because for one of
his campaigns I had a barbarianorc um named Bonkin Thuck.
Yeah.
Bonkin and uh probably justanother just he's just a big
softie.
That's all he is.
He's just a big softie.
Uh his wisdom and intelligencereally aren't there, but he, you
(20:47):
know, close to my heart, thatguy.
Mimir (20:49):
Bonken be bonken.
Kipo (20:50):
Bonken be bonken.
That's all he did.
That's all he did.
unknown (20:53):
And he's good at it.
Mimir (20:55):
No joke, man.
He's good at it.
Wylie (20:57):
Makes him pretty simple
to play, huh?
Sometimes it's nice not to haveall the options, and you're
like, literally, all I can do ishit the problems.
Kipo (21:04):
Very different.
Wylie (21:05):
Uh door won't open, hit
it.
Kipo (21:08):
I'm excited to hear Brad's
first character again.
I just I love him so much.
unknown (21:12):
I love him so much.
Brad (21:13):
Uh so yeah, so for me,
yeah, I've got so many to choose
from.
Um yeah, no, I'm just kidding.
I've just got the one and only.
Uh his name is Mobo Beans.
Um, he's a bard.
Um, but he's also a400-year-old gnome uh who is
three foot tall.
And uh most of the weapons thathe has are as tall, if not
(21:36):
taller, than him.
Um but yeah, he was kicked outof the house at like 350 years
old from his mom, who's like, you need to do something with
your life instead of justplaying music at home.
So come on, Mobo.
So yeah.
In this economy, maybe that'sum yeah.
So good old Mobo.
Wylie (21:55):
Can you uh say something
to Mobo's voice?
Brad (21:59):
Hey, I'm Mobo B.
I'd like to say it's just agreat place.
Uh I would like to adopt him, please.
That'd be wonderful.
Uh but he's he can be a littleshady at times, but not not too
shady.
But uh, you know, he mightsteal like a paperweight off
your desk or something likethat.
But uh for the most part, he'sa lot of fun.
(22:21):
Um but no, uh so yeah, withplaying playing as a bard has
been fun, kind of getting to doum, I don't know, you just kind
of a jack of all trades, but notyou because you can't come in
too heavy with like like abarbarian or anything, but I I
had to learn that at first whenI first started playing, because
I was like, just attack, and itwas like, oh, I just took a lot
(22:43):
of damage.
Oh, it's a bad out here, yeah.
I can't play this way.
This is rough.
And so then I learn like sitback, throw some spells, like,
oh, okay, kind of that mid in inthe middle, right?
unknown (22:56):
Yep.
Brad (22:57):
Um, but yeah, I I think
um, I don't know.
I honestly with any of theclasses I'm excited to play.
Um, just to try, you know, newcharacters and different uh Do
you have a specific one that youwant to be like?
Mimir (23:11):
I I can't wait to play
this like this class.
Brad (23:14):
I will say I am excited to
play Barbarian.
Um just because uh sometimes inlike video games and other
games I've played, it's justthat tank.
Just tank.
Just run in, throw somethinghard, you know.
Like there I don't have to fearof getting hit as much.
Bonking be bunkin'.
Yeah.
But um, I don't know.
(23:34):
I'm also curious of doingsomething a little more on the
magic side too, just very like Idon't know, throwing a lot of
spells.
Kind of kind of almost likesniping for you know, like
that's kind of like I'm I'm kindof curious about that too.
So nice.
Yeah.
Wylie (23:49):
Awesome.
I appreciate you sharing someof MOBO.
Yeah.
Because I just met you for thefirst time back in whatever it
was, March, April, when westarted playing for the first
time, and you know, sat down atthe table, you know, getting to
know each other at Kipo's house.
And uh, you know, as soon asyou started speaking in that
(24:09):
Mobo character, I was like, ohBrad, I already had this idea
for the podcast, and I was like, you're gonna be a good fit.
I didn't even know your DDexperience, but I was just like,
a voice like that, a characterlike that, that this is gonna be
a lot of fun.
Um so that was super funsitting down and playing for the
(24:30):
first time and and uh gettingto know Mobo.
What a great little character.
Um, I think we've all mentionedthat we all have played video
games.
So I think for our lastquestion today, um, let's talk
about some of our favoritevideo games.
Kipo (24:47):
Yes.
You can't we're gonna be herein another half hour talking
about this.
Wylie (24:51):
You can only talk about
three.
Three max.
Three max, and I'll I'll sharesome of mine uh first.
I think uh one of my favoritesthat I enjoy for gameplay is
Assassin's Creed.
Um I I love the open I love thechoice in that game, how you
can be stealthy, you can be gunsblazing.
(25:13):
Um there's so many differentoptions, and I love how they're
based mostly off of real citiesand real environments.
Um so it can be really fun toexplore um, you know, England in
the industrial era and thingslike that.
Um lots of fun, you know, gameplay in that.
So I really, I really likeAssassin's Creed.
I think my very favorite videogame, if I have to pick number
(25:36):
one, I love The Last of Us fortheir storytelling.
Um I like gameplays that againhas has stealth.
There's a lot of choices inyour gameplay in that one as
well.
Um, but I really appreciate thestorytelling, particularly in
the first one, and how they uselots of little pieces of the
environment to contribute tothat story, the notes that you
can find, the pictures you cansee on the wall, um, the
(25:57):
dialogue as the of thecharacters is there exploring
and the actual characterdevelopment.
Um, I think that's somethingrare that we don't see in a lot
of video games.
And the whole progression, youknow, of the story and even
switching, oh, spoiler alert, ifyou haven't played, if you
haven't played last of the game.
I haven't been there.
Have you gotten have you gottenthrough the first season?
Mimir (26:17):
No.
I have so many other games thatI've played.
Wylie (26:20):
It's not burned.
So many games.
Well, I think I won't spoil it.
But um I think that they dosome some really creative
choices um to tell the story.
Um and it's still goodgameplay.
So um, ooh, thats top two .
Um okay, um, Honorable Mention,I love Horizon Zero Dawn, but
(26:41):
I'm not gonna talk about thatone too much, but that's fine.
Um Baldur's Gate is obviouslygreat, Baldur's Gate 3.
Uh, but I actually really likea similar game that Larian came
out with earlier.
Um, they had a previous gamethat wasn't DD licensed, but
they did Divinity Original Sin.
And that one actually came outon consoles, which was really
fun.
I liked being able to play itwith a handset.
(27:01):
So um it's very D coded, butwithout the actual DD spells and
stuff like that.
Um so those um Baldur's Gateand Divinity Original Sin are
pretty fun to play if you're ifyou're itching for some DD, but
you don't have a group to gettogether with.
So alright, I broke the rules, but I was fast about it.
So I broke my own rules.
Mimir (27:21):
I have my three.
I have my three, and I'm I'mgood.
I'm ready to go.
Okay, yeah.
Um so Mass Effect 2 is myfavorite game of all time.
Um and I love that.
I love the Mass Effect series,I love everything about that
game.
Um, love the uh freedom ofchoice, things, all that jazz.
Um I've played professionalvideo games.
I played Call of Duty and uhHalo 3, Call of Duty 4, Halo 3,
(27:45):
and Monofort 2 allprofessionally, but I currently
play Rainbow Six Siegeprofessionally and coach a team,
college team, um for that.
Um and then my third one isHalo 2 Campaign, which is it's
so interesting because I'm amultiplayer, I love playing like
multiplayer games, but um theuh like my top two are single
(28:08):
player games.
Uh except I guess technicallyum Halo 2 is a multiplayer game,
but I played it for hours.
I like grinded that game, legendary, lasso, all that jazz.
So yeah, love that.
So that's easy, quick, andthat's my my stuff.
Kipo (28:24):
I already love how diverse
the video games are.
Wylie (28:29):
We're gonna have to do a
whole episode where we just talk
about video games.
Yeah, we'll have a gamer cornerat some point.
Brad (28:35):
Alright, I'll I'll I'll
jump into mine.
So I'll keep it old school realquick with a couple.
Number one, in 64, there's agame called Wave Race, uh, where
you race jet skis.
I have it.
Yes, absolute favorite.
Like always randomly just hearthe theme song in the back of my
head.
Just playing on the loop.
Wylie (28:55):
How can you not have fun
with that game?
Brad (28:57):
So good.
That's like a family one, likemy dad's really into it, and so
that was like a as a family, that was like our thing we
always did.
Uh, and then of course theother one ha has to be mentioned
is any of the Mario Kart'sabsolute favorites.
Yeah.
Uh from there, trying to getinto a little bit newer games.
Uh you know, I think I thinkI'm just gonna run with uh
(29:25):
Legends of Zelda, Breath of theWild.
I'm currently working through, although I know this is super
late compared to everybodythat's probably already finished
it, but I'm currently workingthrough Tears of the Kingdom.
Nice.
But I've never played a Zeldagame.
Oh, they're fun.
unknown (29:39):
Never.
I enjoy the soundtrack too.
Yeah, yeah.
The soundtrack is great.
I listen to it, but I don'tplay the game.
I haven't played it.
I don't I have too many gamesto play.
Wylie (29:49):
So you prefer Breath of
the Wild over Tears of the
Kingdom so far.
So far?
Brad (29:53):
Maybe.
Maybe.
I don't know.
There are some fun things thatthey added into it.
The building feature in uhTears of the Kingdom is a lot of
fun.
So I am enjoying that.
Just slowly figuring things outas we play.
So it's good.
But I mean, I think it'sbecause I finished Breath of the
Wild and like went through it.
It was just like, that was somuch fun.
(30:15):
So yeah.
And I've not fully gottenthrough Tears of the Kingdom
yet.
So we'll see.
But it's I mean, they're verysimilar though, too.
So yeah.
Kipo (30:26):
I'm a bit more mainstream.
I've never played just aboutany game that most of you
already said.
Except for Brad.
Uh I played Mario Kart andZelda.
Um But kind of starting thesame place is my favorite like
(30:46):
game that I think of that'ssuper fun multiplayer with all
my friends at home growing upwas called Battle Tanks Global
Assault.
Oh, I've played that on N64.
Uh graphics are N64, but it isso fun.
Uh just a great multiplayergame.
Great for its year, for the forits time.
(31:09):
Um and then moving up, kind ofchronologically, I'm gonna I
have to put it at a tie for bothone player and multiplayer.
So big Nintendo person.
Uh Mario Sunshine was the firstone player game that I got to
play on GameCube.
And soundtrack, everything,mechanics, love it.
(31:31):
Still play that today.
Um it's really good.
Yeah.
Um and then with thatmultiplayer, Mario Super
Strikers is the best game of alltime, in my opinion.
That's crazy for multiplayer.
I know it's crazy take, but ithas been endless fun for for
years.
My my last one, and this is myfavorite game of all time, it is
(31:53):
newer, it is Red DeadRedemption 2.
Wow.
Uh, if you can make me crywhile I'm playing a video game,
then you get a lot of credit.
Um it has a really good story?
It is.
Oh, yeah.
Yep.
Yeah, I can't say enough goodthings about that game.
Uh, just the detail that is init and everything.
(32:14):
So I've not played that game.
Wylie (32:17):
I haven't had time for it
yet, but I do want to.
Kipo (32:19):
Red Dead Redemption and
Red Dead Redemption 2.
So good.
There you go.
That's it.
Awesome.
Yep.
Wylie (32:25):
Sounds good.
Well, I think we're gonna stopthis recording and get on with
actually playing some DD today.
Um, so this is our firstrecording of Behind the
Blunders.
I don't know, we don't have aname for this yet.
Kipo (32:37):
Behind the Blunders.
I mean, that's pretty good.
Yeah, that's pretty good.
Wylie (32:41):
So uh that may change,
but um, whoever's listening,
thank you for coming and hangingout with us today.
And uh yeah, hopefully um youenjoy some of the content we put
out.
Bye.
