Wylie (00:01):
You are welcome,
listeners, to hear this tale.
But fair warning, thisadventure is not for the faint
of heart.
For while this story isfiction, it is also true.
And the ending is not happy.
Brad (00:23):
Hey guys, I'm Brad, and I
play Morpheus.
Kipo (00:28):
I'm Kipo and I play
Cobble.
Mimir (00:30):
I'm Mimir and I play Zard
Mython.
Wylie (00:33):
And I'm
Wylie Sloane your host in DM.
This is Blunders and Dragons.
Okay, so our adventurers, RPS,or rock, paper, scissors, as
they might soon be known, approach the town of Erewhon.
(00:54):
The sun is setting, and you cantell that it's going to be a
moonless night.
You could hear this town beforeit even came into view.
Everyone there is raccious andwild.
It has very tortuga vibes foranyone who's seen Pirates of the
Caribbean.
And as you approach this town,it seems exciting, but maybe a
(01:15):
little bit foreboding as well.
So what do your characters do?
Mimir (01:21):
I think uh Zard is gonna
walk up uh just in charge, and
he's gonna find the nearestperson, just the nearest
individual, and just be like, well, hello there.
I'm Zard Mython.
Very nice to meet you.
Wylie (01:35):
Okay.
So there's a variety of likeorcs, gnomes, halflings, humans.
There's all kinds of people.
Um, there's some people sittingaround gaming tables, there's
some people drinking.
Nobody's really payingattention to you.
They all kind of seem involvedin their own thing.
Um it's a little smoky and hazyfrom different uh fires and
(01:56):
torches that are lighting thearea as it is um becoming
nightfall and getting dark.
Um so you can just pick someoneand go tap them on the shoulder
if you like.
Mimir (02:04):
Yeah, let me I'm gonna go
tap an orc on the shoulder.
Yeah, about the same size.
Wylie (02:12):
Okay.
Um so you tap him on theshoulder and you say something
at the same time, or yeah, I'lltap him on the shoulder and I'll
go, Well, hello there.
Mimir (02:19):
Um I'm just curious uh at
where we are and what what is
happening in this uh glorioustown of yours.
Wylie (02:28):
And uh the the orc turns
around and goes, Uh uh Can you
read?
Mimir (02:33):
Uh yes, actually, I have
my own book.
Cobble (02:35):
Oh, it says on the sign
over there.
I can't read, but that's wherewe are.
Mimir (02:39):
Oh, okay.
Uh look at the sign, and I seethat it says um uh how to
Erewhon, Erewhon.
Wylie (02:49):
Mm-hmm.
Yeah, and so that guy, he waslike he was he turned right back
to the gaming table that he'splaying at.
He is really focused on that.
He didn't want to be bothered.
Kipo (02:59):
Hmm.
Okay, what um what time is it?
Wylie (03:02):
So it's it's sunset, like
twilight.
Oh, okay.
Kipo (03:05):
So this is that kind of
accurate with the picture.
Okay.
Yeah.
Wylie (03:07):
Great.
Kipo (03:08):
Hmm.
Wylie (03:09):
And so it kind of seems
like everyone's kind of wrapped
up if they were doing work.
It seems like they've wrappedup their work day.
Just now starting to um it'sit's pretty wild already,
though.
You have a feeling that maybethis town has parties a lot
because it seems like like it,you don't feel like you just
walked out of as everyone'scoming out of their homes.
You feel like this party's beengoing on for a long time.
There's a lot um of thingshappening.
(03:29):
As you guys are um approaching, you see that there are some
vendors that have, you know, their shops, but all of the shop
doors and windows have bars onthem.
And um you see a guy kind ofopening up and he's he looks
like he's just opening his shopup for the evening, and um you
hear a shout from behind you,Wam moo moo! And you're
(03:52):
surprised, and you turn aroundand you see this um halfling,
and his arms are full of thesebeanbag dolls, and they look
like they're made out of alittle white flower sack, and
then they have sort of cow spotspainted on them in different
colors, and they all have reallyugly faces.
And this guy looks intense, andhe's screaming, mo moo moo! And
(04:14):
he runs past you towards thevendor that is opening up, and
he pushes through you guys, andhe has you know multiple of
these different dolls that areall slightly different.
Some have different coloredpaint spots, some have different
accessories and bows, and he'scharging towards that vendor
looking like he's ready to buyanother one.
Mimir (04:30):
Wow.
He's a collector.
Brad (04:35):
I think uh more Morpheus
would probably just be like, I'm
just gonna follow that guy.
Like he seems really passionateabout these these things, so
he's gonna go check out whatit's all what all the the rave
is about.
Wylie (04:47):
Okay, okay.
Um so you follow him right upto the vendor?
Brad (04:50):
Yep, right up to the
vendor.
Wylie (04:51):
Okay.
So he he's pushing past anybodyelse who seems like they might
beat him to the counter, eventhough he's just a little
half-ling.
He's like kicking people'skneecaps and elbowing people in
the side because everyone's kindof focused on their own thing.
And no one else seems thisexcited about you know the the
dolls, but he seems extremelyexcited.
Um so he runs up and he's he'sdigging in his pocket at the
(05:12):
same time and he says, I'll takethe newest one! And he slams
the cash onto the counter, andum the vendor pulls out another
ugly cow doll that looks almostexactly the same.
This one just has a pink bow onits ear, and none of his other
ones have a pink bow.
So he looks really excited toget this doll.
Morpheus (05:31):
Um Morpheus surprised
because we're like, Hey, hey
man, what what what's up withthese uh what are they again?
La moumu! Yeah, what what whatwhat's up with these la moo moo?
Wylie (05:41):
You don't know about la
moumu?
Morpheus (05:42):
No.
Wylie (05:42):
They are the coolest,
well there's not that many of
them.
Are you gonna try to buy them?
Brad (05:48):
I I don't know.
I don't know anything aboutthem.
Wylie (05:51):
Well, they're really
cool.
Each one is a little bitdifferent, and this vendor here,
he only releases one everysingle week.
And I have to wait until itcomes out.
And I gotta beat anyone elsebecause I want to get the whole
collection.
Because each one is unique andspecial.
And I want them all.
Brad (06:12):
Oh, wow.
Okay.
Uh so like what what what doyou do with them?
Wylie (06:19):
I collect them.
Brad (06:20):
So you just collect them.
Do you do you sell them?
Wylie (06:23):
No.
If I sold them, I wouldn't havethem.
And then I show people mycollection.
Brad (06:29):
Oh.
Wylie (06:29):
And I'm the only one who
has them all.
Brad (06:32):
Okay, so so nobody else
has bought these from this
vendor.
Wylie (06:36):
Some well, sometimes he
makes a couple other ones, but
I've gotten one of every singletype.
I always get the first one.
Brad (06:43):
Oh, okay, okay.
So he still has more for sale, just not the first one that you
got.
Wylie (06:49):
Yeah.
Maybe.
I don't know.
Brad (06:51):
Oh, okay.
Mimir (06:53):
He's really defensive.
Is this yeah.
Kipo (06:55):
Is this picture of uh Town
Square accurate?
Yeah.
Okay.
Cobble uh wants to go climbthat tree.
Okay.
We split up immediately.
Wylie (07:05):
Immediately.
Um so you're still standing bythe the Lamumu stand.
Brad (07:10):
A new kid.
Wylie (07:13):
And uh maybe another kid
round your age, you know, like
uh got kind of a young teen.
And then um, so cobble headstowards the tree.
And um, what do you do?
Kipo (07:24):
I want to climb it.
Wylie (07:24):
Just climb it, just head
on the up, climb it.
Okay.
And uh does Zard do anything?
Mimir (07:29):
Um I'm not super
intelligent.
Um I'm trying to figure outwhat to do.
I don't re I mean, I've lostboth of my party members almost
immediately.
Um I'm gonna set up a placewhere I can tell a story, maybe.
Like, I'll set up like uh anarea where I can be like find a
(07:52):
box or something?
Yeah, find a box and be like, who wants to hear a story from
the legendary Zard Mython?
Wylie (07:59):
Okay.
Oh, and I forgot, can you guysall give me your passive
perception?
So for um people who are new toDD, that's usually your
perception modifier plus ten oruh your wisdom, usually your
wisdom modifier plus ten.
Mimir (08:14):
Uh Zard is 11.
Wylie (08:17):
11.
Mimir (08:18):
14.
Brad (08:19):
Is it this one down here?
13?
Wylie (08:22):
Yep.
11, 14, and 15.
Mimir (08:25):
All right, guys.
Unknown (08:28):
Yeah.
22.
Mimir (08:30):
Yeah, Jared 22.
Wylie (08:32):
Um so you do notice as
you were speaking to that kid,
his eyes are mostly black.
Like he was speaking to youwith intensity, and so you could
really see him opening up hiseyes wide, and so his like eyes
are pretty much take like umlike those creepy movies when
they're like is it their pupils?
Is that the right part of theeye?
(08:53):
The whole thing is just black.
Yeah.
Almost like almost no whites tothe eyes at all.
Mimir (08:58):
Oh that's not good.
Wylie (09:03):
Okay, so Cobble's
climbing a tree?
Kipo (09:04):
I'm sure that's normal.
Yeah, I love you found thattree.
Yeah, I just want to go up andsit and kind of like uh just
look around, get a better eye.
Um is anybody up in the treealready?
I don't see anybody in thepicture.
Wylie (09:18):
Yeah, so as you're
walking towards the tree,
there's nobody else in the tree, and um you do feel a tug on
your pocket.
Kipo (09:25):
Oh.
Wylie (09:25):
And um you look down and
your rocks are on the ground
right at your feet.
Kipo (09:30):
I have to pick them up
immediately and put them back
up.
Um I guess I could be a littlebit more careful to watch out
for pickpockets in this.
Okay.
Wylie (09:39):
Yeah, if you want to.
Kipo (09:40):
I would like to to uh to
guard them as I walk.
Wylie (09:43):
So you guard your rocks.
Kipo (09:44):
I'll pick them back up and
I'll I'll scurry a little
faster to the tree.
Wylie (09:48):
Okay, and they're back in
your pockets.
Kipo (09:50):
Back in the yeah.
Wylie (09:51):
The rocks are back in
your pockets.
Okay.
Kipo (09:53):
I have them in just so you
know.
So they're in like a a bag thathas strings.
Brad (10:01):
Like a drawstring bag.
Kipo (10:02):
Yeah, like a drawstring.
Like they shouldn't just likethat, yeah.
But if they fall, like theyshouldn't spill out, because I
have them like pretty protected.
Yes.
So that's I could haveclarified that.
They jumped out.
I didn't know I was gonna bepickpocketed.
Mimir (10:16):
They jumped out.
So you you did catch it in theprogress.
They jumped out.
The rocks jumped out.
They're alive, remembered?
You're dotting boom.
No, they can't.
They want to escape.
Oh, that's insane.
So remember the rocks lie.
That's right.
Wylie (10:30):
And uh so Zard, as you're
starting to set up your um your
little storytelling corner, youare finding it hard because
this is a jostling crowd.
It seems like people are notreally respecting other people's
spaces, and it's very loud andextremely boisterous.
Mimir (10:45):
Okay.
Uh, I'm gonna shift paces.
I might go play one of thegames.
Okay.
Um, and do I have gold on me?
Wylie (10:53):
I think I do not.
Oh, I don't have any.
You guys don't have any money.
Okay.
That was not in your gear.
Brad (10:58):
So I
can't buy a la moo-moo b.
Mimir (11:00):
I should get people.
Um yeah.
So I'm gonna go actually andsee if uh okay, so I can't make
money by telling a story becausethere's too many rambunctious
people around here.
Uh is there a bard orsomething?
Maybe I can uh get familiaritywith uh another storyteller of
(11:25):
some sort.
Oh, okay.
Like where music is comingfrom.
Wylie (11:28):
Um so it seems like
there's music coming from maybe
inside the tavern.
Okay.
Maybe.
Um, but yeah, there's notanyone playing outside.
Mimir (11:36):
Okay.
Uh then I will walk towards uhthe tavern.
Actually, I'm gonna collectyou.
I'm gonna head over to youactually.
Uh over to um over to Morpheusover here.
Wylie (11:50):
And you probably lost all
sight of Cobble because he's
short and it's crowded.
He's just taking off for thetree.
Zard (11:55):
Let's see.
There you are, Morpheus.
Hello, what what's going onover here?
Morpheus (12:01):
Oh, uh apparently I
found this vendor that sells
these, they're called Lamumu.
Uh, but I just noticed there'sthis kid that's really, really
excited about him, but his eyesare like all they're they're
like all black.
Well, I don't know.
It's kind of weird.
But let me see here.
And at this time, Morpheuswould probably start to look
(12:23):
around to see if other peoplehave the same with their eyes.
Do I need to roll?
Wylie (12:28):
Yeah, give me a uh
perception check.
Brad (12:33):
Natural 20.
Wow.
Wylie (12:36):
You feel certain, even in
the darkness and the smoke,
that everyone in this town hasblack eyes.
Like it's just like all of asudden, it's just like you just
suddenly you're like there, there, there, there, there,
there.
Like you're just spotting it.
Mimir (12:51):
He sees the code more
frequency.
Wylie (12:54):
And it it definitely
gives you an an easiness because
it's creepy looking.
And um, you do feel likeeverybody has this like real
intensity.
Like people seem like theycan't really see beyond just
themselves.
Like they are just so focusedon these things that they're
enjoying and this, you know, whatever they happen, like the
(13:17):
guy who didn't want to beinterrupted from his game and
stuff like that.
Like, um, it just seems like, you know, real real crazy.
Uh Koble's probably up a treeby now.
Kipo (13:27):
Okay, is there a way to
see from that vantage point
where the carts that we weretracking went?
Wylie (13:34):
Okay.
Um, I would say with this crowdand stuff, it doesn't look like
the carts necessarily camethrough here.
Kipo (13:40):
Oh, okay.
Like they just went thedirection of this town.
Wylie (13:43):
Yeah, they might have
pulled around the town, like
they didn't come right throughthis the center square.
This is where we are.
Yeah, this is the centersquare.
And the town, it the whole vibeof the town, it looks like it
was like a really nice town, butthat like people don't take
very good care of it, kind of,because that takes work.
And so it seems like it waslike, oh, this this seems like a
(14:03):
really nice place, but then ofcourse we've got the bars on all
the windows.
Um, and it, you know, thingskind of seem like they were very
well done, but are kind of rundown and not that well taken
care of.
Right.
Brad (14:15):
Um, also Morpheus looking,
what does the uh the vendor
also have black eyes?
Mm-hmm.
Wylie (14:21):
Yes.
Yeah.
And so when the vendor took themoney, he had this like greedy
look on his face as he wasgathering up the money and
sticking it into his pocket.
Brad (14:32):
I kind of I'm kind of
curious about um so I will say
in the picture, there's this onelike, I guess, hut or like uh
building.
And it looks like it has areally big door opening and like
a green light out of it.
Um I would probably startwanting to make my way that way
just to see what's because I Iwould definitely feel uneasy
(14:55):
with everybody having black eyesnow and focusing on that, but
maybe trying to figure outwhat's happening.
Zard (15:01):
Okay.
Morpheus, you okay, my friend?
Morpheus (15:03):
Yeah, I I just I I I
noticed that everybody around
here, like, their their eyes areblack and like they're they're
just really focused on whateverthey're just enjoying, but they
they don't want anything else todo with anything or anyone
else.
Oh.
Unless it's involving whatthey're doing, what they enjoy.
Okay.
Uh well that's there's there'sthis uh I don't know.
(15:24):
Do you see that building overthere with the with the green
light kind of coming out of it?
I I don't know if maybe weshould check that out.
Zard (15:32):
Uh yeah, let's let's round
up cobble first, uh, because
he's in a Cobble! Cobble! Whereare you, Cobble?
Kipo (15:41):
Um, can I throw a rock?
Wylie (15:46):
Yes.
Brad (15:47):
Is it one of your lying
rocks?
Kipo (15:49):
I t's just yeah.
One one that uh is disposableto get their attention rather
than yelling because afterseeing that these people are a
little bit hostile, uh, he doesnot want to draw any more
attention to himself.
He's not like, you know, perched up on the branch out in
the open.
He's kind of I mean he's small.
He's rock gnome, kind of blendsin.
(16:10):
Um so he's just gonna he's beenlooking at you guys from the
vantage point.
And I guess I have I havepretty good hearing.
I would say.
I'm pretty loud.
Yeah, and you are pretty loud.
So I'll uh I'll try to toss arock in their general direction.
Wylie (16:27):
Okay.
Yeah.
So you've got your rocks forkeeping and your rocks for
using.
Just a little pebble.
And this is one of the thingsthat you're doing.
Kipo (16:31):
Nothing that would be like
hurtful to anybody, just uh
little pebble.
Yeah.
Wylie (16:38):
Why don't you go ahead
and roll it kind of like an
attack just to see if you canhit him?
Please.
Kipo (16:41):
Okay.
Wylie (16:43):
Oh.
Kipo (16:43):
Uh that's a 15 on the
roll.
Okay.
Um I don't know what mythrowing would be, but yeah.
Wylie (16:50):
Okay, so you you throw a
pebble, and so Zard, um, you
feel a pebble.
Hit your side of your forehead.
Zard (16:57):
We're under attack.
I'm just kidding, I'm takingit, I'm doing it.
We just start attacking thebattle.
My time has come.
Um die in a glorious battle.
Mimir (17:16):
I start slaying people
around me.
Wylie (17:18):
No, I guess we'll never
know what happens in this town.
Zard (17:20):
Exactly.
Uh, and I'll be like, Oh, Ifound our friend.
I'm waving at you.
There you are, cobble.
There he is.
Jump down, I'll catch you.
A couple.
I would like to attempt tocatch a cobble.
Wylie (17:33):
Okay.
Um, why don't you enroll me anathletics check?
Mimir (17:37):
Oh, please.
Please get a cobble.
Brad (17:38):
Please drop them.
Mimir (17:41):
Uh my athletics.
Wylie (17:43):
How high up do you think
you climbed?
Mimir (17:45):
Um as high as possible.
Five feet.
Wylie (17:48):
No, I'm just gonna feet's
pretty good.
Mimir (17:50):
Yeah.
I don't see the most.
Oh, 17 plus three.
It's unnatural 20.
Wylie (17:56):
Unnatural 20.
You absolutely catch him.
Mimir (17:58):
I catch you with one
hand, and I'm like, Oh, there
you go.
Perfect.
And I put you on my shoulderand I'm I love it.
I'm like, all right, Mr.
Cobbler, come up.
Kipo (18:10):
Especially like any harm
to the rocks he hates, so the
fact that he's now up and abovewhere people could try to
pickpock is better.
Mimir (18:19):
So I will now just head
towards that door and I'll be
like, oh, clear away for us.
Zard (18:24):
Excuse me, pardon me.
Mimir (18:26):
How tall are you?
Uh I'm like seven foot.
Yeah.
I'm I'm really perfect.
Excuse me, pardon me.
Uh excuse me, uh excuse me,ma'am.
Um and I'm just gonna clearaway towards uh the uh doorway.
Okay, cool.
Wylie (18:43):
Oh okay.
Um so you're clearing awaytowards the doorway, perfect.
You guys head on over there.
Um and so as you get closer, there's a big guy standing
outside the door with his armscrossed.
And um it do you walk up likeyou're gonna go in or trying to
get a good look at him?
Zard (19:02):
I'll talk to the gentleman
because he looks like a
bouncer, right?
That's kind of the vibe I get.
I'm like, excuse me, sir, I amuh new to this town, uh, and we
saw this amazing glowing door.
Uh what what is this?
Wylie (19:15):
So do you want tickets
for the lottery or do you want
tickets to watch?
Zard (19:21):
Give me two seconds.
Mimir (19:22):
And I turn I turn I I
lift you up and I put you in my
like arm and I look to you andI'm like, I kind of want to go
to the lottery.
I don't know what that means, but sounds pretty excited.
We don't have money though.
That's the thing.
Morpheus (19:39):
I guess the question
is do we have to pay for the
lottery or do we just getsomething out of it?
Mimir (19:43):
Oh, that's a good
question.
Um, I have a follow upquestion, good gentleman.
Um the lottery, is it a uh itemthat we have to pay for, or do
we like Could you explain alittle bit more about what is uh
Wylie (20:00):
Yeah, so you're real new
around here.
Mimir (20:01):
Yeah, we literally just
walked in and we woke up without
memory.
So we're doing pretty good.
Wylie (20:06):
Okay, so the way it works
is you buy tickets for the
lottery.
Okay.
If you win, one person winsevery night.
One person.
We do the lottery every day.
One person wins, they get to goin for the feast.
Everybody else has to paytickets and they get to watch
and see what he gets to eat.
And it's a special feast that'smade every night by Mr.
(20:29):
Feast.
Cobble (20:30):
Oh, that sounds dumb.
Mimir (20:33):
Cobble, mind your
manners.
Uh remember, this is not ourhometown, which I don't know
where it is.
Wylie (20:40):
So the guy the guy looks
up at Cobble and he says, Well,
maybe if you saw what was atthis feast, you'd think it was
pretty interesting.
You should buy some tickets andwatch and see what it's all
about.
Yeah, could you give like whatwas yesterday's feast?
Oh, I can't tell you that.
Oh, were you not there?
I don't always get to watch,but it's proprietary.
Mimir (20:58):
Oh, so they don't let
their own bodyguard not watch?
Wylie (21:01):
Well, if I'm watching the
door, I can't watch the feast,
can I?
Mimir (21:04):
Honestly, that sounds
like a real big missed
opportunity on your part.
You know, we could probablyjust walk in with you and you
could watch every single nightif you really think about it.
Morpheus (21:16):
Yeah, if you want, I
can watch the door for you while
you go in.
Mimir (21:20):
Yeah, he's a young one.
Wylie (21:21):
I don't really like to
watch it.
I just like to make money.
So that's why I'm here.
Mimir (21:25):
He also has black eyes.
Zard (21:28):
That's interesting.
Um, give me two seconds.
And I flip uh a cobble onto myarm again and I go, I'm not
gonna lie.
The Mr.
Feast sounds really bad.
He sounds like a bad guy.
Only feeding one person a nightseems pretty crazy to me.
Morpheus (21:47):
Yeah, I d I really
don't understand the vibe here
and what's going on.
Cobble (21:51):
Why are we here?
Zard (21:52):
I I don't remember we
don't have memory.
We're trying to figure out whywe have memory.
Or why we don't have memory.
I know how to talk, all right?
I hit my head pretty hard.
Have you forgotten words?
I did forget some words.
My intelligence is seven.
Wylie (22:11):
You're a storyteller with
a seven intelligence.
Mimir (22:13):
Yeah, well, because he
uses his wisdom to cover up his
uh intelligence.
Wylie (22:17):
So you forget some words,
but they're still really good
stories.
Mimir (22:20):
Exactly.
Wylie (22:22):
Um so uh as you guys are
uh do kind of debating this, um,
you you hear a voice behind youthat says, um, well, uh, but mm
um Mr.
Beast is the richest guy intown, so it's a good idea to
work for him.
And you turn around and lookfor the source of this voice.
Mimir (22:41):
Yeah, I'll flip around.
Wylie (22:43):
Everyone give me
perception check.
Mimir (22:45):
Cobble, you're on my
shoulder still.
Ten.
Brad (22:50):
Do do it.
You had a two.
Yeah, okay, yeah.
Hold on, but let's see.
What did you say it was?
Perception.
Kipo (22:59):
Oh, seven.
Wylie (23:00):
Okay, seven for me.
Okay.
Mimir (23:02):
Uh thirteen for me.
Wylie (23:03):
Thirteen.
None of you can see the sourceof this voice.
Mimir (23:05):
I'm gonna be like, like,
where's that voice coming from?
Oh, okay, I'm glad you hear ittoo.
Zard (23:11):
Um I would love to meet
Mr.
Feast, I think.
Kipo (23:15):
What's behind him?
Just so I can see, like, wewalked up to this, okay, this
doorway, and there's a bodyguardin front of it.
Wylie (23:22):
Can we like behind it?
It's a foyer.
So you can't there's like moredoors behind.
Kipo (23:27):
But it's like glowing
blue.
Wylie (23:29):
Yeah, there's like some
like kind of like foggy like
windows.
Kipo (23:33):
Cool.
So he's the only bodyguard.
Wylie (23:35):
Yeah.
Because it it seems like maybethat tonight's feast has gotten
going.
Mimir (23:41):
No, I have the same vibe
as you.
Um do you?
Yeah.
Sure.
I I think he's about to try tosneak in.
No, I think Well, here.
I could cast hold person.
Uh okay.
Um What kind of creature is thebodyguard?
Uh he's a orc.
What is he wearing?
Wylie (24:01):
Um like basic armor, kind
of like what you'd see in the
picture.
Like uh, they kind of got theseum but what are the shoulder
pad things?
Kipo (24:10):
Shoulder pads.
Yeah.
Shoulder pads.
Yeah, great.
Wylie (24:12):
From the 80s.
Shoulder pads from the weirdleather bandolier.
Kipo (24:17):
I see other pictures here,
but we don't know that they
exist.
Wylie (24:20):
Yeah, you haven't gotten
into the tavern or anything.
Okay.
Mimir (24:23):
Uh yeah.
I would love to meet Mr.
Feast and uh provide our a uhmaybe like uh utility to him,
uh, if there is a possibility.
Maybe a job interview.
Wylie (24:35):
Are you talking to the
bodyguard?
Brad (24:38):
Not to the random voice I
can't say unembodied voice.
Wylie (24:42):
Okay.
Um so the bodyguard says umWell, he's working right now,
but maybe you come back tomorrowyou could talk to him.
Oh.
Because like the feast is goingon right now.
Mimir (24:53):
Oh, they're eating
currently?
Wylie (24:55):
Yeah.
Mimir (24:55):
Do you know what's on the
menu?
Wait, so wait, hold up.
Wylie (24:58):
The menu is a surprise
every night.
Zard (25:01):
Oh.
Mimir (25:01):
And if you don't like
you're allergic to the menu, do
you get What's allergic?
Oh, okay.
Well, you know, that's on me.
It's the best food.
Oh, it's the literal best food.
Okay.
Hmm.
Alright.
Well, we will be back uhtomorrow.
Um be like, what are your guys'thoughts?
(25:25):
Uh, as we're kind of walkingaway, can we find like an empty
space where we can chat where noone is listening to us?
Wylie (25:31):
Yeah, you can kinda like
deck into an alley.
Mimir (25:33):
Yeah.
Okay.
Wylie (25:34):
Yeah.
Mimir (25:35):
I'll be like, I don't
know about this place, but I
feel like Mr.
Feast has like this weird thinggoing on here.
That's kind of my thought.
Cobble (25:45):
I don't know how this is
gonna help us figure out who we
are and what we're doing here.
Mimir (25:50):
It's a good point.
I just like solving and writingdown stories for Mr.
Feast.
Cobble (25:55):
Yeah, I can understand
that.
Wylie (25:58):
You hear the um the
little voice again, the same
one.
Um, and you hear, and he says,uh, are you guys are you guys
looking for something?
You need some help.
And you turn you turn around.
Zard (26:09):
Is that one of your rocks?
Rocks do speak.
Cobble (26:13):
Maybe.
Wylie (26:14):
And you see this little
character.
Yeah, he's he's not hiding thistime.
Sorry, he rolled a Nat 20 thefirst time.
Mimir (26:23):
Well, guess what?
We didn't roll anywhere close.
Wylie (26:26):
So um you see uh this
little looks looks like little
halfling, little m maybe halflygnome, partially.
Um looks like a young kid withcurly brown hair.
Um he's got a bit of a raggyblack cloak on, and um, he's
definitely dressed like a rogue, like what we would consider a
typical kind of DD rogue.
He's he's got a little satcheland and he um has a little
(26:49):
dagger at his waist.
He's not holding it outthreatening towards anything.
He does have black eyes.
Brad (26:54):
Okay.
Zard (26:56):
We're like, hello, what's
your name, little one?
Wylie (26:59):
You could call the Mr.
Daggers.
Zard (27:02):
Okay.
Morpheus (27:03):
I wonder what he
likes.
Mimir (27:06):
Mr.
Daggers.
I write that down in my book.
Um, and I'll be like, you knowhow to uh help lost citizens as
ourselves.
Wylie (27:18):
I know everything about
this town.
Zard (27:20):
Oh, wonderful.
What's with the black eyes?
Wylie (27:23):
What are you talking
about?
Mimir (27:24):
Well, he doesn't know
everything, everybody.
Brad (27:32):
I know everything about
this town.
What are you talking about?
Exactly.
Mimir (27:36):
I just love I love the
idea of a like a very straight
because he's not intelligent.
He's like, I'm not gonna, youknow, I'm not gonna fool anybody
in this way.
And so he's just like, justsuper straightforward
individual.
Wylie (27:51):
All right.
Well, good to know.
Do you like do you like want ablack eye?
Do you want to like get in afight or something?
Mimir (27:58):
I don't think you want to
fight me, little one.
Wylie (28:00):
Some people like to
fight.
Zard (28:02):
I'm not much- I don't like
to fight.
Wylie (28:04):
I just thought you might
want to get in on a fight.
No, like I know where all thefights are.
Zard (28:08):
Oh, okay.
Morpheus (28:09):
I'll fight.
I'll fight anybody.
You won't fight?
Whoa, chill, chill.
Oh, sorry, sorry, sorry.
Wylie (28:15):
Some people pay to fight
and some people get paid to
fight.
So it kind of depends on whatyou want to do.
Morpheus (28:20):
Oh, I mean we could
use some money.
Zard (28:22):
We could get into a fight
for money.
Um, but um, I have a question.
Do you know about the junglethat's right down the road?
Wylie (28:31):
I know a little bit about
the jungle.
It's not as cool as a town.
Zard (28:34):
Oh, okay.
Um, I was just curious.
Uh we woke up in a cave.
I don't know why I'm tellingyou this.
To be honest with you, youhaven't provided much
information.
Uh but I'm the straightshooter.
Brad (28:46):
But you you love you love
to tell the story there.
Zard (28:48):
So I love to tell it.
We we woke up in this town anduh or this cave, not the town,
and we have no memory ofourselves.
So I was just curious if youmaybe uh know us or her have met
us, maybe.
Wylie (29:05):
Uh well, I I've probably
seen about everybody in this
town, and I don't think I'veseen you guys before.
Zard (29:11):
Ever?
No.
Oh, that's good.
That's good information.
Cobble (29:16):
Where's her a good place
to eat?
Wylie (29:18):
Um, well, the tavern
right here, that's one of the
best places to eat.
But you gotta have gold.
Everything in this town costsmoney.
Cobble (29:27):
Do you have gold?
Wylie (29:28):
Yeah, of course I got
gold.
Morpheus (29:30):
Can we have it?
Wylie (29:32):
I don't just give people
my gold.
Morpheus (29:34):
I'll fight you for it.
Wylie (29:36):
I don't fight people
either.
I like gold, not fighting.
Morpheus (29:39):
Ah, dang it.
Zard (29:40):
How did you earn your
gold, little one?
Wylie (29:43):
I take it out of people's
pockets.
Zard (29:45):
Oh, so you stole?
Wylie (29:47):
I just take what I find.
This guy only has rocks, and hepoints to you.
Cobble (29:52):
He doesn't know that.
Brad (29:53):
Oh, he's the one he's the
one that's the one that tried to
nick you.
Wylie (29:59):
When your rocks fell out
of your pocket.
Cobble (30:02):
Yes, but they're magic
rocks.
Wylie (30:04):
They're magic rocks?
Cobble (30:05):
Of course they are.
Wylie (30:06):
What do they do?
Cobble (30:07):
Well, it depends on if
they like you or not.
Wylie (30:12):
Oh.
If they like you, what do theydo?
Cobble (30:16):
T hey give you special
powers.
Wylie (30:21):
That sounds pretty cool.
Kipo (30:22):
So he is lying.
Um I don't know, just for yoursake, if I need to roll
anything.
Wylie (30:28):
Yeah, do you want to roll
a um he's he's pretty naive, so
he's not gonna get a plus toit.
But yeah, you roll a deceptionand he'll roll an insight.
Kipo (30:36):
Okay.
Okay.
Cobble (30:45):
18.
Wylie (30:46):
He rolled a natural
eighteen.
Mimir (30:49):
Well, we roll.
Or no, meets it beats it.
Wylie (30:51):
Usually meets it beats.
So he he's just he's nottotally convinced either way.
Kipo (30:55):
Okay.
Wylie (30:56):
He's uh he's not like
you're totally lines.
Kipo (30:58):
Like everybody.
Okay, so let me take let metake one out of my um pocket.
Wylie (31:02):
Uh-huh.
Kipo (31:03):
And he I will cast minor
illusion on it.
Mimir (31:09):
Yeah?
Yeah.
Okay.
I will cast minor illusion, andthe rock will like have a bird
pop out of it.
Wylie (31:17):
Oh, like a like a
holographic bird?
Mimir (31:20):
Yeah, like a holographic
bird, and then it will like
swoop pi by this kid's face andthen disappear into the sky.
Wylie (31:26):
Okay, so Cobble pulls out
a rock in his hand and holds it
up, and then you do this.
Mimir (31:30):
And then I will uh man.
I will cast Minor Illusion onit.
I just really want to believein this.
Kipo (31:37):
So I was gonna do
something else, but because he
beat me to it, I have to kind oflike act like this is exactly
what he was trying for this todo.
He's got just a little jump.
So he's got a little bit of ajump.
Cobble (31:51):
Um and so he goes Oh,
sorry, that one's a new one.
Kipo (31:56):
Um he sees the bird fly
away and all that stuff and pops
back.
Brad (32:00):
Um I don't know why, but I
was hoping you just like hit
the kid in the face of the rock.
Just throw.
Kipo (32:08):
That's what I was going to
do.
Mimir (32:09):
That's what you're gonna
do.
Kipo (32:10):
No, what I was going to do
is throw the rock up in the
air, watch him watch it in theair, and then hit him while it
was in the air.
That's good.
But you did something first.
So uh that's what happened.
Wylie (32:22):
So the little bird flies
past his face.
Yeah.
And he goes, Oh, that's kind ofcool, I guess.
Um, but how does that help youget gold?
Cobble (32:32):
Y ou're a pickpocket.
Distraction is half the battle.
Brad (32:37):
Also, I think you should
pay him for the show, man.
Like, literally, he just gaveyou a show.
You wanna buy some rocks?
Wylie (32:44):
Hmm, I'm gonna see if he
wants to buy some rocks.
Mimir (32:48):
Can I give him Bardic
inspiration with that magic
trick that I did?
Um or advantage.
Wylie (32:55):
Let's see.
So persuasion, yeah, we'll dopersuasion for it.
So you can give him persuasionwith advantage for what you did.
Okay.
So you're gonna roll apersuasion.
Mimir (33:03):
With advantage.
I don't think it's on the Ithought my charisma was higher.
Wylie (33:08):
It is not that's a seven.
Ah, he did roll a ten, just anatural ten.
So yeah, um, he's like, Yeah, Idon't know, I like my gold.
But that's cool.
So do you guys need to gosomewhere to spend the night or
something, or like get somedinner?
What do you guys need?
Zard (33:26):
Where's your parents,
young one?
Wylie (33:29):
Parents.
What needs parents?
Cobble (33:30):
A nd why are you
offering to help us?
Wylie (33:33):
Because sometimes the
value is not just in gold.
Zard (33:37):
Oh, it's in favor.
That's what it is, right?
Wylie (33:40):
That's what you were
saying.
Maybe I'd do you a favor, maybeyou do me a favor later.
Zard (33:44):
I don't know about that.
That seems a little suspiciousto me.
Hmm.
Well, Mr.
Daggers, uh, you can alwaysfind us.
Um I don't know uh what mycolleagues uh think.
Kipo (33:58):
I'm gonna go to the
tavern.
Zard (33:59):
I think I also go to the
tavern.
Yeah.
Um, we will meet you maybelater and talk to you uh about
uh some business uh things.
Wylie (34:10):
Okay, if you need a tour
guide later, let me know.
Mimir (34:12):
Alright, I will signal
you by uh another bird in the
sky.
Wylie (34:17):
I'm not that and he he
puts his hands to make like a
little bird and he goes Caw-Caw!
Zard (34:22):
Wow, you're really good at
noises.
Mimir (34:23):
And then uh and then
we'll head to the tavern.
Wylie (34:28):
Okay, and he disappears.
Alright, so you guys walk onover to the main tavern.
It seems like there's a fewtaverns on the street, but it's
kind of the biggest one.
Um and so very smoky vibeinside, crowded.
Uh people are elbowing eachother, you know, fighting over
tables.
It's very similar to the vibethat was outside.
(34:49):
Um, I think I'll kind of put upthe map version of it here.
So this one doesn't have anycharacters and stuff on it for
you, but um, it kind of givesyou a little bit better idea of
the layout.
Mimir (34:59):
Can I make a like
persuasion or insight check of
any kind of or maybe even arcanacheck of any kind of like, is
this like a curse that is onthem?
Like, can I can I feel thatout?
Wylie (35:13):
Yeah.
Mimir (35:14):
Uh would that be an
arcana?
Wylie (35:16):
Yeah.
Yeah.
An arcana, I think, would doit.
Mimir (35:20):
Oh no.
Man, we're not rolling goodtoday, guys.
It's not except for Brad.
Oh, I forgot that I'm dumb.
Kipo (35:28):
Um good job seeing that
all the eyes are black.
Mimir (35:32):
Um I rolled a four and I
got uh I have negative two in
Arcana.
So I got two and I'm like,curs.
Ooh, that would be a cool titlename.
Um and I get shot.
Wylie (35:45):
Yeah.
Um yeah, you don't know evenwhatever your best theory is
right now, that's your theory.
So cool.
Yeah, so you head on inside thetavern.
Zard (35:57):
Um I'll be like, uh is it
is the door big enough?
Um there's orcs here.
So I I think it's a big thing.
Yeah, how tall are you?
I'm like seven foot something.
Wylie (36:08):
Yeah.
Seven foot two.
I think.
Since this is like one of thebiggest taverns, I'll say it has
a pretty big door.
And there's some that maybelook like they're more
accustomed to like smaller folk, like, oh, there's maybe one
that serves like more halflingale, um, you know, different
specialty bars and stuff likethat.
But this one, um, since it'slike definitely the biggest one
that you can see right here onthe street, this is seems to be
(36:29):
the town's main square.
So it's the most accommodatingfor everyone.
They probably realized, hey, ifwe make our doors big enough,
everyone can come in.
So we don't alienate anycustomers.
And um, this one has a cool asyou step into the smoky, crowded
tavern, you see the bar, andbehind the bar there's this cool
tree that actually the bar hasthe tavern has been built
(36:49):
around.
Ooh, cool.
Kipo (36:51):
Um you know.
Wylie (36:53):
Cobble loves trees.
Um and so that's in the center.
There's a big fireplace.
Um, there is a bard kind ofover near the fireplace in the
little bit of open area by theedge of the bar that's playing
some fiddle music and stuff.
And um, there's kind of a sortof loft area as you walk up the
stairs, and there's more tablesand stuff up there.
(37:14):
But it is even though thispicture doesn't show all the
other characters, is prettyjam-packed in here.
Okay.
Mimir (37:20):
Um so uh just for the
record, uh, I am seven feet tall
and six inches.
So that's how tall I am.
Cobble (37:30):
Okay.
Mimir (37:31):
So it is now lore
accurate.
Um and uh I will have Cobble onmy uh shoulder until he does
not want to be there anymore.
I'll be like, Cobble, do youhave any ideas what to do?
I am at loss.
Both physically and mentally.
Kipo (37:53):
Um let's see.
I'm just trying to think of I'mnot speaking for him.
Um I'm just trying to think.
One, when's the last time wereally ate anything?
It was the just like berries inthe forest, and we have no
money.
However, there is food around.
(38:15):
So we can either go and getlike scraps or try and find some
money somehow, or win somemoney somehow.
Um are there games going on?
Mimir (38:26):
Yeah, well, that's what I
was trying to, but you have to
bet to win.
Does that make sense?
You have to have money first towin the game.
Um, and we can't really make uhbasically I'll be messaging
these guys because I have themessage cantrip.
So we're not talking, uh I'llbe like, well, We um can't
really make friends.
Wylie (38:48):
So this is the first time
you hear his words in your head
and his mouth isn't moving.
Yeah.
Morpheus (38:52):
What is happening?
Zard (38:53):
I'm casting a spell on
you.
You're not no, you're okay.
Brad (39:00):
It's just me.
He just starts running around.
Morpheus (39:03):
No.
Brad (39:05):
All right.
Mimir (39:05):
You know about the
messenge spell, right?
Yeah.
Okay, cool.
Um
Cobble (39:09):
I'm a cleric, so we've
lost one of our I'm like, oh
man.
Wylie (39:18):
Hey, get off of me.
You run into somebody.
Yeah.
Someone spills their drink asyou run it.
Mimir (39:26):
You can't really make
friends, um, per se.
Um we could maybe do someillegal activity.
Yeah.
Um, or I don't know if we canget any information.
I think the only individualthat we won't be black eyed is
Mr.
Feast.
That's kind of my thing.
(39:47):
I feel like he's the mayor ofthis town that really feels it.
Like he's I don't know.
That's kind of where I'm at.
Brad (39:55):
I will say, uh, probably
the idea that um Morpheus has as
he's running around, still justlike, what is happening?
But just eventually he's like, you know what?
I'm just gonna go talk to thethe barkeep.
And so just walks up to thebar.
How old is uh Morpheus?
He he's probably too young todrink.
He's a teen.
Oh okay.
Mimir (40:16):
So I erases Morpheus?
Elf.
Elf.
Oh yeah, he's way too young ifhe's a teen elf.
Yeah.
He looks like a baby.
Yeah, exactly.
Wylie (40:26):
He's probably actually
like 25, like on paper, but he's
like 12.
Morpheus (40:31):
So he would probably
go up to the the barkeep.
He's probably like, hey, uh,I've got a couple questions.
Wylie (40:37):
Um okay, and so the the
barkeep leans over and is like,
all right then, what can I getyou?
Brad (40:42):
Oh, uh do you have any
like gnome ale?
Wylie (40:47):
You don't look old enough
to be drinking gnome ale.
Well how about a glass of milk?
Brad (40:52):
Sure.
Mimir (40:53):
Okay.
Well I'm really hard.
You know what?
I'll take it.
Brad (40:58):
He's kind of like, I'll
take whatever I can get.
Yeah, yeah.
Like, I tried, and then okay, now I'll just take whatever.
Wylie (41:04):
So uh they reached under
the um bar and pulled out a
glass jug, and um like that'llbe two gold.
Brad (41:11):
Uh see that's the problem.
I don't have any gold on me,and how can I get gold?
Wylie (41:19):
You don't have any gold?
Morpheus (41:20):
No, I just woke up in
a cave like two hours ago.
Milk?
Wylie (41:26):
I got a lot of dishes
that need washing.
Morpheus (41:31):
That's a great idea.
Okay.
How how how how much would youpay for that?
Wylie (41:39):
One hour dishwashing, one
gold.
Mimir (41:43):
That's a really good
offer.
Is it a good offer?
It's a great offer.
Wylie (41:47):
Two gold for milk is
expensive.
Mimir (41:49):
Yeah, I was gonna say
that's just you know, like
usually um and it might bedifferent, especially in this
area where they're like throwinggold around.
But usually gold is like amonth's weight.
That's right.
That's right, yeah, true.
It's like the best deal everthat you could get.
Wylie (42:05):
So you will have to work
for two hours for a glass of
milk.
Brad (42:08):
Right.
He'll he'll probably he'dprobably put in one hour.
Wylie (42:14):
Um, there's a couple
people behind the bar.
It's because it seems like ahopping place.
Zard (42:19):
So cobble stone.
What do you think?
Wylie (42:23):
Alright, then you want to
come on back to the kitchen?
Morpheus (42:26):
Yeah, yeah, let's do
it.
Wylie (42:28):
And they like um they
lead you on back to the kitchen.
So I guess you step away fromit.
Mimir (42:34):
You gotta jump that
quickly.
Cobble (42:36):
Yeah, go look at him go!
I'm not that very skilled in
stealing things.
Oh, you're not skilled in it?
I'm not skilled in stealingthings.
Zard (42:47):
Um anyway.
I could make you more skilledin things like that, but I don't
know if that's what we shouldbe doing.
Yeah, I know.
Um I would love to talk to umdo we see these individuals that
are highlighted in front of us?
Wylie (43:04):
Um, yeah, you could you
could see like a kind of gnomish
individual that you could speakto sitting at a table or a
dwarvish individual.
Zard (43:10):
Yeah, I want to go over to
the dwarvis dwarvish
individual.
Um, and I'll be like, excuseme, gentlemen, uh uh Sir.
He's alone.
Um I was curious, uh, who isthe mayor of this town?
Wylie (43:24):
Oh, the mayor.
The mayor of this place.
Mimir (43:27):
Yep.
Wylie (43:30):
It's changed a few times.
He doesn't really leave hismansion much.
Mimir (43:34):
Uh, where is his mansion?
Wylie (43:37):
Upon Fancy Street.
Mimir (43:39):
Fancy street.
Fancy street.
Alright.
Um what what is your occupationthat you do around here?
Wylie (43:46):
Uh I do this or that.
A lot of different things.
Mimir (43:50):
Alright.
That's very specific and uhvery um straightforward that I
should not ask any deeperquestions to that.
Um and I'll be like, um I'm aZard Very nice to meet you.
Wylie (44:06):
Okay.
I just I just want to have adrink to myself.
Mimir (44:10):
Oh card.
Um I apologize for interruptingyou.
Uh your uh uh lovely drinksesh.
Drink sesh.
Again, he's not intelligent,he's just uh lays.
Um and he'll be like very well.
(44:30):
Cobble, I'm out of options.
I think we go to fancy street.
Cobble (44:34):
I don't know what to do
either.
Zard (44:35):
We have an hour that we
have to wait, so
Morpheus (44:40):
actually, it doesn't
mean that like you'll stick it
out.
No, no, yeah, for an hour.
Mimir (44:44):
No, I know.
Brad (44:45):
Yeah, yeah.
Mimir (44:45):
It's just like he's he
should work hard for his money.
And I think a gold is good towork with.
And also if we we couldprobably gamble later with this.
Kipo (44:56):
Yeah, lose it immediately.
Wylie (44:59):
So uh so you're in the
kitchen and and you're you're
doing the dishes, and as theplates come back, you see that
some of the plates have scrapson them still.
Brad (45:07):
Ooh.
I would absolutely like putthat to the side and like hold
it, right?
Wylie (45:12):
Okay, so you start
collecting like a scrap plate.
Brad (45:14):
Yes, absolutely.
Wylie (45:16):
All right.
Brad (45:16):
Yeah.
Wylie (45:17):
Okay.
And um why don't you give mesome kind of check to see how
good you're doing on the dishesto see if your uh new boss is
gonna be pleased.
Mimir (45:24):
I was gonna say, I've
never done a dishwashing check
in DD.
That's crazy.
Wylie (45:29):
I think we'll call that
slight of hand.
Mimir (45:31):
Yeah.
Brad (45:31):
Oh man, we're so bad at
this slide of hand.
Mm-hmm.
It's uh eight.
Wylie (45:39):
Eight.
Okay.
Um you almost break some of thedishes.
Almost.
Almost.
Mimir (45:46):
Almost.
Wylie (45:46):
Um and that's impressive
because they're metal dishes.
This place, it seems like theyfound that the most
cost-effective way to not havetheir dishes be broken.
Mimir (45:56):
You just hear climbing.
Metal climbing.
Like the hobbit, you know, where they're like super they're
like cleaning Bilbo's uh dishesand like throwing.
But you're not doing it in amusical pattern.
You're like, oh, that's fun.
That's you want to everywhere.
Yeah.
Wylie (46:11):
You get some soap on the
floor, you fall over, like
anyone who just sees you fromlike the doorway that's open to
the kitchen, like you just seewhoop bubbles.
There's so many bubbles comingout of the sink.
So um I don't think they'regonna be super pleased when they
eventually come back and see.
But you do have a plate full offood.
Morpheus (46:29):
So I go ahead and uh I
take my break, you know.
Yeah, 10 minutes in.
And then I bring after becauseI've like picked, I'll say I've
probably picked some of the foodfor myself, but I'm also like,
ah, here you go, guys.
And I just bring out a plate, like, for each of them that has
(46:52):
that has food on it, right?
Yeah, yeah.
I I just kind of sit and chillwhile I'm taking my break.
Yeah.
That's crazy.
Mimir (47:00):
That's insane.
Brad (47:01):
You have to remember he's
a teen.
Wylie (47:03):
No, this completely
checks out.
I think this is very valid.
Mimir (47:07):
Did you wash this dish
before you put the scraps on?
Morpheus (47:10):
Uh yeah.
Definitely.
Zard (47:14):
I don't believe you.
Don't need a roll for um Um andI'll be like, all right, uh,
wonderful.
Um we have come you're on yourbreak right now.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
Morpheus (47:26):
I've got a 10-minute
video.
Mimir (47:27):
I didn't know they were
union.
Morpheus (47:29):
Signed up right before
I walked in the door.
Mimir (47:31):
Yeah.
Uh um well, what should we dothen?
I have zero clue.
I think we should try to findfancy street and maybe break
into the mayor's house orwhatever, and see if he's
around.
I guess he's switched a coupleof times, so that's something.
(47:54):
I I just feel like all thesepeople are obsessed with doing
the things that they're doing.
Morpheus (48:00):
So what's going on?
I I don't know.
I've just been washing dishes.
So who's the mayor?
Zard (48:05):
Uh we don't know who the
mayor is, we just know where he
lives.
Morpheus (48:10):
Oh, okay.
Zard (48:10):
All right.
He lives on a mansion on FancyStreet.
Fancy Street.
Oh, that's pretty fancy.
I'm wondering if it's Mr.
Feast, but I'm not totallysure.
They really uh arestraightforward with the names.
So that's let's see.
Wylie (48:28):
And so it's it's pretty
loud in here.
So it's hard for you guys totalk.
And um, if you're thinking oflike trying to spend the night
here, it you get the idea youprobably wouldn't get very much
sleep.
Mimir (48:40):
Yeah.
Um well with the talking thing,I'm just casting a message, so
then they can just reply into myhead.
Yeah.
Uh, because I figured that'swhat was going on.
No, no, no, you're okay.
No, you're hard.
Um, let's see here.
Morpheus (48:56):
Get out of my head.
Zard (48:58):
Do you want to quit?
Wylie (49:01):
At just about that time,
you hear, hey, where's the guy
that was supposed to be doingthe dishes?
Morpheus (49:06):
Oh, I'm right here.
I'm just taking my break.
Wylie (49:08):
W hat are you doing with
the a break?
Yeah, like these dishes aren'tclean.
Get out.
You're eating, get out.
Zard (49:16):
All right.
I guess we're kicked out now.
Mimir (49:19):
Uh, we will get up and
leave.
Morpheus (49:21):
I guess I had a job
and then I lost it.
Zard (49:23):
Yeah, you it was literally
10 minutes, dude.
It's just the worst you couldbe doing.
Wylie (49:29):
But you got a dinner out
of it.
Morpheus (49:30):
That's true.
That is true.
I do feel a little bit.
Wylie (49:33):
We got a dinner.
Yeah.
Alright, so you guys get kickedout of the tavern.
The barkeep comes up behind youand shishes you along, shoes
you out, they're waving thedishcloth at you.
Zard (49:45):
All right, we'll get out,
we'll get out, don't you worry.
Wylie (49:48):
And it did make it and
they slam the door behind you.
And so just as you guys stepout into the street, the crowd
is surging, and there seems tobe kind of like a wave of a
group of people that comeswooping by.
So everybody give me adexterity saving throw.
Kipo (50:09):
Did I hit it?
You tossed it, then you hit it,so I gotta read it in mid-air.
Oh.
Brad (50:14):
I have an unnatural 20.
Wylie (50:16):
Unnatural 20.
Kipo (50:17):
12.
Mimir (50:18):
Uh, I got a 23.
Wylie (50:20):
Okay.
So this is perfect.
Up on your shoulders?
Zard (50:23):
Is he on up on my
shoulders?
I haven't put him up there yet.
Wylie (50:26):
I don't think so because
you guys are just coming out the
door.
So um it makes sense that uhZard is kind of so big that he's
able to kind of step over tothe side and shoulder his way
through.
And um then our our uh I'mforgetting your name.
Morpheus, Morpheus.
Morpheus, Morpheus.
Morpheus makes uh he's dashes, you know, spins around.
Morpheus (50:44):
He's so light.
Wylie (50:45):
But um, but poor little
cobble gets swept up in the
crowd and pushed along.
Zard (50:51):
Cobble, where'd you go,
Cobble?
My boy! Now I'm just kidding.
Cobble, where'd you go?
Wylie (50:58):
Uh I will look for
Cobble, shoving through the
crowd, being like, You see, asyou see Cobble's little hands in
the air
Zard (51:04):
Cobble, there you are.
Wylie (51:06):
And he's he's getting
swept up.
You can't quite reach him, he'sahead of you in the crowd, and
this crowd is swooping in towhat looks kind of like a big
barn with these big barn doorsthat are open, and you can hear
some shouting and cheering andloud music as you guys are are
getting put as he's going pushedon in there, so you can follow
him and if you're gonna go backto the case.
Morpheus (51:25):
Yeah, so you gotta
show my way through.
I just follow the trail ofrocks that have been left
behind.
I will pick up the trail ofrocks as we're like
Zard (51:33):
I'm like shoving through,
and I'm like, no, his friends.
Kipo (51:37):
This is a good reminder.
I just need everyone to knowthat the rocks that Kobble
collects are not special in anyway.
Like they are literally likegravel that you would find and
on the side of the road.
There's not there's no value tothem.
They don't look amazing.
Wylie (51:57):
They're just do they at
least like feel nice in your
hands?
Kipo (52:00):
No.
Wylie (52:00):
No, they're like
pointing.
Kipo (52:01):
No, they're not even
smooth, like nice rocks that you
like.
Brad (52:05):
You're you're actually
gonna offend like some like uh
rock.
Yeah, some rook.
No, every rock is special, man.
Geology.
Wylie (52:14):
This pebble is older than
your brain.
Kipo (52:17):
Which could be true, but
I'm just talking about, you
know, like in our day-to-daylives, sometimes you come across
a nice rock and you keep it.
These are not those rocks.
That's all I'm saying.
I still pick them up.
Okay, thank you.
Wylie (52:31):
Zard and morpheus are
really know that you care about
them despite them beingcompletely in-amazing.
Mimir (52:37):
Well, it's actually the
only thing I know about you.
Wylie (52:39):
So As Cobble, as you get
swept up in the crowd, you are
brought into this great bigbarn.
Uh, it's more well lit than therest of the town.
You can see that there's crowdsaround a circular ring in the
center, and you hear a voicethat seems to be amplified
saying, Ladies and gentlemen, come inside for tonight's fight.
Zard (53:09):
Hey, hey, I'm I'm in the
fight too.
Yeah, I'm gonna jump in.
I'm gonna go.
Wylie (53:15):
So Zar pushes his way in.
I'll push in, yeah.
Um and so the announcer says,Ah, we have a new contender,
because he can see you.
He can't see Cabble at all.
And I'll be like, Cobble wason.
Zard (53:26):
It's me and my squad.
I'll pick up Cobble from theground and I'll put him on my
shoulder, and then I'll be like,And the most fearsome of them
all.
Stand back as he is a legendamong legends.
Brad (53:41):
He jumps, I morphe jump,
is like, you know, tries to be
like really like but it justcomes out really high pitches.
Mimir (53:49):
I'll I'll make minor
illusion of like uh like
explosions of fireworks behindhim.
Brad (53:55):
Can you can you give macro
illusion of muscles?
I can't fix it.
I can't fix it.
Wylie (54:00):
That would be a major
illusion.
Okay.
Um so you guys are swept inyour you somehow end up at the
edge of this ring.
Um and the announcer says,Well, fantastic! We have some
contenders that will be fightingagainst our regular trio.
Mimir (54:23):
Yes, we have signed up,
and the prize pool right, is us.
We're getting the prize poolbecause we're gonna win.
Wylie (54:34):
And uh somebody somebody
elbows you and he says, Um, uh,
contenders are not allowed tobet themselves.
Mimir (54:40):
Oh, okay.
Well, we don't have any money,so do they win something?
Wylie (54:44):
Stipend for winners.
Oh, okay.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Small proceeds.
Um and so the announcer says,Um, what can we call our new
group?
Mimir (54:55):
Oh, we know.
Zard (54:55):
I look, I look at them and
I go, Rock, paper, and scissors
RPS.
Wylie (55:04):
And the announcer goes,
Well, fantastic.
Rock, paper, and scissors.
Tonight you will be up againstum Billy Bob and his goblin.
Mimir (55:20):
Sorry, Billy Bob and who?
Wylie (55:24):
Guys,
this parts improv, i didnt..
Hang on, I gotta go to my sheetof NP name.
Mimir (55:33):
They're the regular trio.
They're the regular trio.
Brad (55:36):
Billy Bob and I was I was
just transported back to South
Mississippi with the name likeBilly Bob.
And I was like, I love orcswith like mullets.
Mimir (55:47):
That's what I'm picturing
is three orcs with mullets all
come out.
Brad (55:53):
Billy Bob has a mullet,
but it also has the perm in it
too, you know.
Yeah, it's got the curls to it.
Yeah.
Wylie (56:03):
Okay.
Um, okay, I have a better namefor them.
Okay.
Brad (56:12):
I love Billy Bob,
honestly.
Mimir (56:15):
This is you.
This is whatever.
Well, but I love Billy Bob.
You're creating a world aroundus.
Immerse us in it.
Wylie (56:20):
Um everyone, put your
hands together for our regulars.
For our regulars, Billy Bob.
Snap and crackle.
Zard (56:34):
Whoa, that's a good oh
man.
Brad (56:36):
Wow.
I think for some reason I feellike there should have been a
pop, but maybe he got replaced.
I don't know.
I think he died.
He popped too hard.
Yeah.
Wylie (56:47):
And so you see, stepping
into the ring is a bug bear and
two goblins.
Oh.
And so that's who you're goingto be facing.
And so the announcer says,Ladies and gentlemen, place your
bets.
Zard (57:01):
Uh, I'm going to act weak.
I'm going to be like, oh, ooh,I think I popped off my hair.
Bring, oh, that hurt.
Cobble (57:10):
I would like to sit on
the ground, uh, crisscross
applesauce style, please.
And be counting the rocks thatthese two had picked up for me
and giving me back, so I do afull count, knowing that I have
all of my rocks in my bag.
Wylie (57:29):
Roll for rocks.
Kipo (57:30):
Oh, okay.
Ooh, roll for rocks.
Oh, hold on.
Where's your rocks?
Not yeah.
Wasn't really, you have 17rocks.
Wylie (57:39):
Wow.
Kipo (57:39):
That's all of them.
Then we pick up more.
Yeah.
I did.
I just started picking up abunch of rocks.
Mimir (57:45):
I don't know what the
difference is.
Cobble (57:47):
You hear him like go to
a new one.
Wylie (57:52):
You have three new rocks.
Kipo (57:54):
Is it okay if Cobble was
not paying attention and has no
idea what's going on?
Sure.
Wylie (58:00):
Yeah, yeah.
So you're just sitting on theside like uh Like in the ring,
though.
Kipo (58:04):
Wait a minute.
I put you down in the middle ofthe room.
Oh, you did a ring, yeah.
But I was way too preoccupiedwith my rocks.
Wylie (58:11):
So Cobble's in the ring.
You're kind of limping up tothe edge of the ring.
Mimir (58:15):
You're my hip.
Ooh, that's I'm trying to notbe intimidating, so we win more
money, guys.
Brad (58:21):
No, it uh Morpheus doesn't
understand that and tries to be
more menacing, but isdefinitely failing.
Kipo (58:28):
He's trying to help the
cause.
Exactly.
Mimir (58:32):
Perception check versus
his persuasion check.
Wylie (58:40):
Okay.
So how does Morpheus enter thering?
Brad (58:43):
Oh, Morpheus like enters
uh but probably trips over the
wall.
Mimir (58:49):
Yeah, ropes.
Wylie (58:50):
Yeah, ropes like a box
scene.
Brad (58:52):
Trips over the ropes.
Oh, this is so cool.
Probably gets tangled up in theropes, you know, a little bit,
then stumbles out, but it's justlike but still, yeah,
definitely not scary in theslightest.
Just holding, just holding hisaxe above his head, you know.
Yep.
This teenage elf.
Yeah.
Wylie (59:10):
Okay.
And um, so you hear theannouncer say, um, combatants,
take your positions.
And everybody roll forinitiative.
Mimir (59:19):
I'm gonna look down and
I'm gonna be like, Cobble, we're
in a fight now.
Yeah, we're fighting.
Kipo (59:25):
And he looks in front of
him and he sees the bugbear and
two goblins.
It's okay, I know what Irolled.
Okay.
Um I've just now figured outthe reason why we don't normally
all roll into one is they hiteach other like uh it's fun
though.
Wylie (59:41):
It's ridiculous that you
guys are sharing the tiniest
dice tray.
And I have this massive oneover here just for me.
Brad (59:48):
Uh I got an eighteen.
Wylie (59:50):
Eighteen?
Mimir (59:50):
I also got an eighteen.
Let's go.
Kipo (59:54):
Seven.
Wylie (59:54):
Seven.
The um your combatants rolled aone.
Let's hold so um Who wants togo first?
Do we want Morpheus or I guessMorpheus always wants to go
first?
Mimir (01:00:04):
Morpheus will go first
and my hip is hurting.
In quotation.
Yeah.
Kipo (01:00:09):
Just so I know what the
rules are for this fight because
it is like a controlled in airquotes.
A controlled fight.
Tag in, or is all are all sixof us in the
Wylie (01:00:27):
Yeah, this is this is a
team team death match.
It's a pretty big ring.
Yeah.
Kipo (01:00:33):
We're all just face to
face.
12 by 12 foot ring.
Wylie (01:00:40):
I'd say it's like what
would be a good like um a little
bit smaller than one ring of athree-ring circus?
Mimir (01:00:51):
Yeah.
Wylie (01:00:51):
Okay.
Kipo (01:00:52):
Yeah, I like that.
Wylie (01:00:53):
Yeah.
And um so like it's a it's avery big barn with like a tent
roof.
Oh.
Kind of like a um, so it's amore more permanent than just a
tent, but it has like kind of alittle bit of a circus-y vibe
because it's veryentertainment-oriented and
stuff.
Kipo (01:01:06):
Um I might want to use
surrounding areas.
Could you just describe alittle bit more what we're
seeing in the atmosphere aroundus?
Like are we down lower than thecrowd?
The crowd is up like a normalstadium, or is it all the same?
Wylie (01:01:20):
Yeah, I think there's
some ble bleacher seating.
Kipo (01:01:22):
There is some bleacher
seating.
Wylie (01:01:23):
Yeah, so there's some
bleacher seating around the
edge, so you do feel very likekind of closed in.
Kipo (01:01:26):
And there's even ropes
coming from the ceiling.
Wylie (01:01:29):
Um let's see.
Kipo (01:01:31):
But there's poles because
it's a tent.
Wylie (01:01:33):
Yeah, there's some poles,
but they're not like in the
ring, obviously.
They're you know, they're kindof more like around the backs of
the bleachers.
Okay.
I'd say, so they're not likesuper close.
And I don't think there's anyropes um up in the rafters or
anything because it's it's itit's a per pretty permanent
structure.
It seems like it's here all thetime.
It's the fighting hall.
Brad (01:01:50):
So for the ring, is it
like a is it square?
Wylie (01:01:53):
Circular.
Brad (01:01:53):
Circular.
Wylie (01:01:54):
Well, you know what?
Sorry, for D and D purposes,we'll just make it square.
Brad (01:01:57):
Okay.
And does it have the the postson each corner?
Wylie (01:02:00):
As posts and ropes.
Brad (01:02:01):
Posts and ropes.
All right.
Wylie (01:02:02):
So it has just like our
wrestling situation.
Kipo (01:02:05):
Let me hear the bell,
buddy.
Let me hear the bell.
Wylie (01:02:08):
And uh so then the
anouncer says um the the only
rule is no fatalities.
So um you're supposed to donon-lethal damage.
Brad (01:02:16):
Oh, okay.
Wylie (01:02:16):
So everyone everyone's
doing non-lethal.
Brad (01:02:19):
So we believe.
So as for someone who's new toDD, uh with non-lethal, can I
still swing my battle axe?
Wylie (01:02:26):
Mm-hmm.
Brad (01:02:26):
You can't just say you
just like non-lethal.
Wylie (01:02:30):
Yeah.
Brad (01:02:31):
And swing.
Okay.
Wylie (01:02:32):
Yeah, so you could like
hit him with the the broadside.
Brad (01:02:34):
Okay, okay.
Kipo (01:02:35):
Your character doesn't
have to say non-lethal.
Brad (01:02:37):
Right, right, right.
Although that would behilarious.
That would be hilarious.
Mimir (01:02:41):
I'm doing non-lethal.
Zard (01:02:44):
Me too, friend.
Wylie (01:02:46):
Great if Morpheus doesn't
really understand the rules.
Brad (01:02:50):
He actually kills
everyone.
We actually have to pay moneynow that we don't have.
Yeah.
Wylie (01:02:59):
Um, okay, and so then you
you guys have taken your place,
and so it's going to be youthree, and then um your
combatants.
You he you've you've taken yourpositions, and then you hear
ding ding, and the battle beginswith Morpheus.
Brad (01:03:15):
All right.
Morpheus is 100% just going forthe big guy.
Wylie (01:03:18):
Okay, the big guy.
Brad (01:03:19):
Yep, going big guy.
Wylie (01:03:21):
Alright, roll to hit him.
Brad (01:03:22):
Alright.
Wylie (01:03:23):
This is Billy Bob.
Brad (01:03:25):
Dang it, I was on a 14.
So I got uh six.
Mimir (01:03:31):
Which one do I add?
You minus your whatever youhave on your minus battle axe,
remember?
Because you're using the bigaxe?
Yeah, the great axe.
Kipo (01:03:40):
Yeah, you don't get any
bonus.
It's zero.
Brad (01:03:44):
So just uh six.
Wylie (01:03:46):
Okay, and you miss.
So describe what happens whenyou run up to hit him.
Brad (01:03:50):
Alright, so uh what I see
in my mind of Morphist is
running up, just kind of like,ah, you know, and is about to
swing, and uh he just trips andjust face plants on the mat and
then gets up really quickly.
Okay.
Mimir (01:04:06):
Okay, good catch.
Yeah.
Don't be running through.
Brad (01:04:12):
And and looks around like,
I hope nobody saw that.
Although obviously everyone sawit.
Everyone saw it.
Wylie (01:04:20):
Zard your up next.
Mimir (01:04:21):
I was like, you're doing
a cobble job pretending my.
Cobble (01:04:24):
Cobble goes, oof.
Zard (01:04:27):
Um, and I will be like, I
need to know each of your names
so I may write your story.
And I take out this uh verynice scimitar, and I go, you,
and I point at the bugbear.
You shall tell me your story, and I will cast Crown of Madness
(01:04:48):
on him.
He needs to make a um wisdomsaving throw.
Okay.
My DC is 13.
Wylie (01:04:56):
Okay.
Six.
Mimir (01:05:02):
Wonderful.
Um he uh is charmed and mustuse its action uh before moving
on each of its turns to make amelee attack against a creature
other than itself, uh, that youmentally choose.
So I do not I don't choose uhmy friend uh Morpheus, but I
choose whoever is standing nextto him that's our enemy.
(01:05:23):
Okay.
Um and then uh the target canact normally on its turn uh if
you choose no creature.
So uh and then each of uh myturns uh I must use uh my action
to uh maintain control.
Wylie (01:05:40):
Okay, and does he have to
re-roll every time or he
doesn't get to re-roll?
Mimir (01:05:44):
At the end of uh each of
its turns.
Wylie (01:05:47):
At the end of each of its
turns, he gets to re-roll
concentration.
Okay, great.
Okay, so he is going to attackSnap on his turn, but it's not
his turn yet.
It is Cobble's turn.
Mimir (01:05:57):
Um I do have a bonus
action.
Oh yes, go ahead.
I will be like, Cobble, youhave inspired me.
And now I will inspire you.
I have and I pull out uh mybook uh with one hand and flip
to a page of this massive rocklike elemental individual.
I have no name for this rockelemental, and I will name it
(01:06:21):
Cobble after my good friend.
And I will give you aninspiration.
Oh, thank you.
Yeah.
Uh and then I will movebackwards.
So you were you were neverwithin melee range of them, but
you keep yourself.
I'm just gonna, yeah, I'm justgonna move back uh to one of the
ropes and I'm gonna be like, check this out.
Kipo (01:06:39):
Uh to the crowd.
Oh, this is perfect.
Yeah.
Great.
So it's uh it's Cobbles turn.
He just saw Morpheus uh swingand fall, and then you cast uh
the crown of madness, and thengave me some inspiration uh with
that beautiful um speech, beautiful little miniature
(01:07:01):
speech.
So, yes, thank you.
Uh so now he's ready.
He's sitting there stillcross-legged on the ground, um,
facing the three uh the threeother people.
And so uh I I have to this isthe first time of doing this
with this characters, and thisis gonna be very fun.
But so what you see now beforeyou is Cobble had his bag of
(01:07:29):
rocks in front of him sittingthere, and so before your eyes,
the bag opens, the rocks startfloating out of the bag very
slowly in front of him, youknow, just little pebbles and
whatnot, and you just see themstarting to spiral and circle
and glow this green color, andthey kind of in a flash of light
(01:07:56):
become this big rock that'suploading as I cast spiritual
weapon.
Mimir (01:08:08):
Okay, I totally for I
thought you were a wizard this
whole time.
For some reason I'm a cleric.
Wylie (01:08:14):
And you hear you hear
just in the faintest voice from
the stand saying, Wow, the rocksare magic.
No, yeah, he's here, he's Mr.
Daggers.
Maybe from the Raffterssomewhere, I'm not sure.
Kipo (01:08:28):
Uh so for the listeners at
home and definitely not myself
reading this for the first time, you create a floating spectral
weapon within range that lastsfor the duration, or until you
cast a spell again.
When you cast the spell, youcan make a melee spell attack
against a creature within range,60 feet.
And uh within five feet of theweapon.
(01:08:51):
So I cast it in front, eventually it's gonna be it
right in front of all three ofthem.
Uh on a hit, force takes uh thetarget takes force damage equal
to 1d8 plus my spell castingability modifier.
As a bonus action, I can movethe weapon up to 20 feet and
repeat uh the attack against acreature within five feet of it.
Wylie (01:09:14):
So you cast it pretty
close to Billy Bob, I assume.
He's the biggest.
Kipo (01:09:17):
Yeah.
Wylie (01:09:17):
And um so you don't have
to move it because then you cast
it right next to him.
Kipo (01:09:22):
Yes.
Wylie (01:09:22):
Okay.
So you cast a this this rockcomes and appears right next to
Billy Bob.
Kipo (01:09:27):
And it hits him because
it's force damage.
Wylie (01:09:29):
Okay.
And I think it rolls to hitthough still.
Kipo (01:09:31):
Yes.
Yes.
Yeah, here let me do that.
Cobble (01:09:35):
Oh.
Kipo (01:09:36):
That was so close to an
rolls were maybe bad.
Was it?
Yeah.
Don't tell me that.
I mean, sorry.
Uh give me one second.
I have it right here.
Spell attack bonus.
Yeah.
Six.
Wylie (01:09:49):
Six total?
Oh, I mean.
So this big rock appears nextto Billy Bob.
Kipo (01:09:54):
It's not there.
Still there's a big thing.
The beginning was cool.
That's your bonus action.
What's my bonus action?
Casting that spell.
Wylie (01:10:02):
Spiritual weapon.
Kipo (01:10:03):
Yeah.
So you have an action if youwant to do something else.
Just to ram it again?
No.
Wylie (01:10:09):
So is cast casting it is.
Mimir (01:10:10):
Casting it.
Yeah, and it attacking is abonus action.
Yeah, it is.
So you have like you can attackwith your main weapon or
whatever if you have a mainweapon.
Wylie (01:10:18):
You just can't cast
another spell.
Kipo (01:10:19):
Just can't cast another
spell.
I do.
Can't cast another spell.
Or you can just dismiss, andthen uh, can I throw a pebble?
Wylie (01:10:30):
Sure.
Yeah, an unarmed strike kind ofsituation.
Sure.
Kipo (01:10:33):
It's literally gonna do
nothing, but it might do
something.
Natural one.
Okay.
Wylie (01:10:38):
You you try to throw a
pebble and if like falls out of
your hands and arm! Oh gosh!
Brad (01:10:44):
Yeah, he actually just
hits Morpheus in the back of the
head.
Wylie (01:10:47):
Morpheus, who is ahead of
you?
Insult to injury.
Kipo (01:10:51):
This is going so well.
Mimir (01:10:54):
And I said, watch this to
the crowd before this, and I'm
like, oh.
Brad (01:11:02):
It looked cool, so it
wasn't.
Wylie (01:11:04):
You had convinced there
was a few people who didn't buy
your act that you wereinsufficient in this combat, and
now they're really regrettingtheir bets.
So it's now gonna be BillyBob's turn.
Mimir (01:11:15):
He has to attack an ally.
Wylie (01:11:17):
He has to attack an ally,
so he's gonna go for a goblin.
He's probably gonna hit.
That's pretty good.
Mimir (01:11:22):
Um I know.
I was just yeah, that's why Idid it, guys.
Wylie (01:11:28):
Oh yeah.
So he hits the goblin with hisuh morning star.
Nice.
So that's a pretty big weapon.
He's probably gonna take outhis buddy.
We'll see.
Um so it's two d8 plus two.
So unless I roll really bad, this goblin is not gonna be
around for much longer.
So two.
Brad (01:11:48):
That wasn't on me.
Wylie (01:11:50):
A one and a four.
So five plus two, so a total ofseven, which is exactly s uh
snaps.
Wait, was it snap?
Yes, it was exactly his hitpoints.
So he he so Billy Bob just hasthis like stunned look on his
face, and he he just turns andswings just very casually.
(01:12:12):
He swings his big morning starand it just takes out Snap,
who's right next to him.
Is it non-lethal?
It's non-lethal.
Okay, sure.
And because it was just exactlyhis hit points, and so Snap
goes and he gets like flattenedand he crumples into a heap.
So Snap is now taken out with asingle hit.
Um and now it's Crackle's.
Morpheus (01:12:37):
Billy Bob is also on
our team.
Kipo (01:12:39):
No, he's not.
That money's as good as ourworst for man.
Morpheus (01:12:45):
If we could just get
him to hit his other guy, band
himself.
Wylie (01:12:50):
Um so crack uh crackle is
up next, and he like he's
looking so confused, and he'slike, Billy Bob, what are you
doing?
And he like like tries to kindof smack him, and then he didn't
uh Billy Bob roll his uh savingthrow?
He did not, thank you.
Mimir (01:13:07):
I will roll that.
Um what Snap you mean?
No, uh Billy Bob because forhis crown of madness.
Oh, gotcha, gotcha.
Wylie (01:13:14):
He rolled a natural 18.
Mimir (01:13:15):
Yep, he succeeds.
Wylie (01:13:16):
Okay, so he's not gonna
do that again.
Yep.
So he just he kind of shakeshis head and he's like confused
and he's looking at Crackle andhe's like, Oh, what happened to
Snap?
He like doesn't remember.
And um, so Crackle's like, Youkilled him! Like, you didn't
actually kill him, but he'sblaming him.
And uh he's like, get ittogether, man! And he runs up
(01:13:39):
towards Morpheus and he umswings his scimitar at 15 to hit
you.
Brad (01:13:45):
Uh my armor class is 15.
Wylie (01:13:47):
Okay, if it meets the
beats, so he hits you.
Okay.
Um so we're gonna it's a 1d6plus 2.
Two plus two is four.
So he hits you for four damage.
Mimir (01:13:57):
Okay.
All right.
Are you raging?
I'm just kidding.
Wylie (01:14:03):
And so that's the end of
his turn.
So we go back up to the top ofour initiative, it's Morpheus'
turn.
Zard (01:14:10):
You got a pardon.
Brad (01:14:14):
Uh what did he hit him
with?
Wylie (01:14:16):
A scimitar.
Brad (01:14:16):
Oh, a scimitar.
Yeah.
Um, I guess at that pointMorpheus is just hyped up and is
like, I'm I'm just gonna hitwhoever is in front of me.
So I guess crackle with it.
So he just goes for cracklewith the great axe.
Ooh.
Mimir (01:14:37):
Wait, wait, wait.
You don't add anything.
I don't, that's right.
17.
Wylie (01:14:41):
You hit it, you hit it.
You have all your damage.
Brad (01:14:44):
Alright, and then what is
it?
Uh DMD 12.
Yeah.
12 plus zero.
Yeah.
Let's see.
Which one's it?
Uh.
Mimir (01:14:53):
I can't wait until you
never figure out that you're not
supposed to use this weapon.
Brad (01:14:57):
Like you didn't
succeeding.
A 10
Kipo (01:14:59):
My gosh.
Non-lethal.
Brad (01:15:02):
Non-lethal.
Non-lethal of non-lethaldamage.
Wylie (01:15:05):
So describe how Morpheus
hits crackle.
So uh Do you like spin yourbattle axe?
Brad (01:15:15):
I think I think what it is
is that he got hit and
literally he just had the axe inhis hand and it hit him and
spun him into where he just spunback around and the axe just
like knocked him out.
Yeah, but knocked crackle offhis feet, and then you hear
crack, you know.
Yeah.
Wylie (01:15:33):
You uh slam it broadside
right into crackle, um, and he
goes flying back against theropes just like Snap did and
crumples to the ground, and youdo hear some crackles kind of
like um when you go to thechiropractor and things get all
popped out of place because thatwas a like kind of a
bludgeoning hit.
Brad (01:15:50):
You you also see just the
surprise on uh Morpheus' face,
just like, what how did I dothat?
Mimir (01:15:59):
Perfect.
Wylie (01:16:00):
Awesome.
Is Morpheus's turn so um and ifyou're not gonna do anything
else, Zard is up next.
That's it.
Brad (01:16:05):
Maybe you'll maybe he'll
no, dude.
No, he's gonna stay where heis.
That's that's you don't want togo and get get in front of the
big dude.
Zard (01:16:12):
No, I'm just gonna stay
where I am.
Um Zard will be like, uh I'llput away a book uh in my pocket
and I'll be like, ladies andgentlemen, are you not
entertained?
We are RPS.
RP Earth.
I'm trying to get a chantyellow.
Wylie (01:16:33):
And you you hear you hear
a voice say, they they've only
hit one guy so far.
Okay.
Mimir (01:16:38):
Well, all right, hold on.
Wylie (01:16:39):
Uh and then well then
didn't um uh You could do if you
want to you could do apersuasion check for the crowd.
Mimir (01:16:45):
I love to.
Yes.
A little persuasion.
I'm gonna roll.
We've been rolling so bad withand we all switch dice when we
so oh that's so sad.
I've been rolling bad uh evenwith my switch dice, but that's
normal me.
Uh that's a eight total.
Wylie (01:17:05):
Yeah, crowds.
Crowds not there are so one?
Zard (01:17:08):
All right.
Well, I'll prove it to youthen.
Uh and then I will walk up tothe individual.
Wylie (01:17:14):
To um Billy Bob.
Yep.
Only one left.
Zard (01:17:16):
I will say, Billy Bob,
your story is a good one.
Uh, and then I will attack him.
Uh and I will use defenses uhdefense uh defense defensive
flourish uh will do somethingelse.
Um and it'll add damage if Ihit.
Uh that is a 20 non-natural.
Wylie (01:17:41):
Ooh, yes, you hit him.
Mimir (01:17:42):
Cool.
So defensive flourish is mysubclass.
I am a barred swords subclass.
Um and so instead of uh usuallyinspiring people, which you can
still do, um, I can also add itto uh a flourish of some sort.
And so I used defensiveflourish, which will give me an
extra d6 of damage, but it alsowill add that d6 to my AC, which
(01:18:08):
is really cool.
Okay.
Uh so my AC goes up to 19.
Well, um, and uh I do a totalof nine slashing damage to him.
Uh non-lethal um across theface, and I'll be like, and I'll
(01:18:28):
be like, your story will bewritten in the days to come.
Um and then I will parry him,so hold my uh scimitar out
front.
Wylie (01:18:37):
Okay.
Um basically giving additionalAC.
Yeah, that makes sense.
Cool, awesome.
That's a fun way to use it.
Mimir (01:18:44):
Yeah.
Wylie (01:18:44):
Okay, if you're um if
you're done, Kobble's gonna be
up next.
Kipo (01:18:49):
Great.
Kobble is ready uh with thespiritual weapon rock just
floated in the air.
Ready ready to bash again.
So that's that's all he's gonnado is uh send that back at the
bugbear.
Wylie (01:19:05):
Okay.
Kipo (01:19:07):
There we go, baby.
23, yeah.
23, you hit.
Great.
I gotta remember 28.
Thank you.
Yep.
I got you.
Plus your wisdom.
Unknown (01:19:18):
Oh, there you are.
Kipo (01:19:22):
Should be a seven.
Wylie (01:19:23):
Seven damage?
Yep.
Awesome.
Kipo (01:19:26):
Seven damage.
Wylie (01:19:27):
Okay, so um, I kind of
imagine he sort of stepped
forward.
Um, and so the rock just kindof gives him a nice bash on the
back of the head.
Oh, wonderful.
And um he's he's lookingstunned and and like he's he's
not looking super hot.
He's he's looking a little worndown now.
Um but it is the bugbear'sturn.
And I think that Morpheus isstill the close.
Well, you're Zard's Zard'sclose to him now.
(01:19:50):
And Zard did some real damageto him because I don't think
Morpheus has hit him at all yet.
So he is gonna for Zard.
So he swings his morning star.
Star.
He rolled a natural 14 and hehas a plus four, so a total of
eighteen.
Mimir (01:20:06):
Misses.
Yeah, because of my 19s.
And I wait till the last secondand I just move it just
slightly out of my path and Igo, Good try, but I know your
moves.
Um that's sick.
Yeah.
So he misses with that morning,so awesome.
Wylie (01:20:23):
Okay, yeah.
So he he he's looks surprisedlike that you were able to so
dexterously just you know nudgehis weapon out of the way.
He's not used to, you know,he's used to being able to just
come in and smash everybody.
So um he's he's pretty shook bythat.
And um, so then up next, um,both of his buddies are out, so
we are back to Morpheus.
Brad (01:20:42):
All right.
Nice.
Uh Morpheus is uh just gonnakeep going with the the axe
because that's what he knows.
Ooh, that's great.
Kipo (01:20:53):
Just uh I think it's just
regular, yeah, don't add
anything.
Just a 15.
Wylie (01:20:56):
15?
You just miss him.
So you come up, you come upwith your axe and you swing and
a miss.
Swing and and um you you'rereally close to him, but you're
maybe you're getting a littletired holding this big heavy
battle axe.
Mimir (01:21:08):
Probably.
Did I give you inspiration?
I have inspiration.
Okay, okay.
I don't think I gave youinspiration.
Wylie (01:21:13):
No, I think you had it
earlier for something else.
Mimir (01:21:17):
Dang.
Wylie (01:21:18):
Yep.
Okay, so you miss, and thenwe're on to Zard.
Mimir (01:21:21):
Uh I will um can I move
into like flanking or something
with this individual?
Awesome.
I will do that um and I willattack him with my sword.
Oh, I can't see.
What does it mean?
13.
13.
12.
Uh uh.
Yeah, it's not gonna hit 15.
Wylie (01:21:39):
Yeah.
So you you edge your way aroundhim just scooching around.
Um maybe as Morpheus isswinging, but um, and you kind
of swing at him too, but maybeas he's kind of avoiding
Morpheus, he avoids you as well.
So he's trying to likeabstract.
Mimir (01:21:53):
Oop, okay, I need to
concentrate a little bit.
Yeah.
Wylie (01:21:56):
Alright, onto Kobble.
Kipo (01:22:01):
I'm very sorry.
Mimir (01:22:02):
No, don't be.
Kipo (01:22:04):
But this is the character.
So he looks to the left andright and sees the goblins that
are unconscious.
That are unconscious.
Um, and so he Oh, that's what Iwas doing.
Double checking something.
Very sorry, very sorry.
Three seconds.
And oh, no concentrationneeded.
(01:22:24):
So the rock is still justfloating there.
Wylie (01:22:26):
Yes, the rock is still
just sputting up.
Kipo (01:22:28):
Um, I'm gonna move up to
the closest goblin, which would
be the one that walked up toMorpheus on the left.
The bugbear?
The bugbear.
Both of the other goblins areunconscious.
That's what I mean.
Oh, you're walking up to anunconscious goblin.
Unconscious goblin.
Wylie (01:22:42):
Okay.
Kipo (01:22:42):
Okay, cat uh crackle.
Okay.
Walk up to crackle and searchin for rocks.
Wylie (01:22:47):
Oh.
Okay.
Sure.
Kipo (01:22:50):
I thought you were gonna
fireball us.
Mimir (01:22:51):
Again, I don't know why I
think you're a wizard.
I'm not a wizard anymore.
I know.
Wylie (01:22:55):
Usually people say I'm so
sorry to their party, it's
because they're cast offireball.
Mimir (01:22:58):
That's why I was like,
We're gonna kill everybody.
That's what I
Kipo (01:23:02):
No, I'm sorry.
I'm not going to help you hitthis butler because I just got
distracted and remembered thatthere's two unconscious bodies
there, and I'm gonna go see whatthey have.
Wylie (01:23:12):
Okay.
So yeah, you can um go searchCrackle's pockets.
Kipo (01:23:16):
Yes.
Wylie (01:23:17):
All right.
Um Yeah, you don't need to do astealth check or anything.
Um why don't you just roll andI'll tell you what you maybe you
get in there.
Kipo (01:23:24):
Sixteen.
Wylie (01:23:25):
Sixteen.
Um so there's um a little likepackage of jerky.
Okay.
And we just cobble some send itabout.
Kipo (01:23:37):
Are you near the ground?
No!
Brad (01:23:40):
Um, oh, free concessions.
Yeah.
Wylie (01:23:45):
And um then in his other
pocket there are three pebbles.
Kipo (01:23:48):
Oh, no way.
Wylie (01:23:51):
You roll pretty good, so
if you're getting my own.
Kipo (01:23:57):
He's very excited, and
then runs back to the place as a
dash.
I don't know.
Well, I run.
That's my action.
Wylie (01:24:06):
Yeah.
Kipo (01:24:07):
Search.
And then can I go back to whereI was?
Wylie (01:24:09):
Yeah, it's not that big a
ring.
Okay.
Yeah.
He wasn't that far from youguys.
Kipo (01:24:12):
So I don't attack, I just
search.
Because you can attack withyour bonus action, and you
refuse to do that.
Yeah.
He's too just found now, are youkidding me?
Mimir (01:24:19):
No, it's cool.
Don't want to.
Unknown (01:24:22):
He's really determined.
Crazy.
No, he's kidding.
Wylie (01:24:28):
Um, okay, so now it's
Billy Bob's turn.
Kipo (01:24:30):
This was a normal DD box?
Yeah.
Wylie (01:24:33):
And Zard has tried to
sneak behind him, so he's gonna
go for you.
Oh, he rolled a five, and youstill have a 19?
Mimir (01:24:42):
No, I I don't have a 19,
I have a 15 now.
Wylie (01:24:44):
Okay, well, he only gets
a nine total.
So in his trying to turn aroundand hit you, he misses.
Okay, so then up next is goingto be Morpheus.
Mimir (01:24:52):
Alright, Morpheus is
trying again.
And you have advantages therebecause I'm flanking him.
So with you.
Okay.
So you can roll twice andtogether.
Wylie (01:24:59):
Yeah, so flanking means
one character is behind, like
you guys are opposite onopposite sides of an enemy, so
that was a five.
Brad (01:25:07):
Don't like that.
And then an eight.
Wylie (01:25:11):
So eight plus zero
because you're using that battle
axe.
Yeah.
Brad (01:25:15):
Yep.
Mimir (01:25:16):
I'm with a bunch of
idiots.
And I'm a one of them, right?
Morpheus.
Brad (01:25:21):
Morpheus this time just
swings, but just goes down and
just hits the floor and gets itkind of stuck in the floor as
he's trying to get his axe backout.
Wylie (01:25:31):
And the crowd is starting
to kind of boo and cheer
because they're like, we camefor a 3v3 match.
Zard (01:25:37):
I'm sorry that we're I'm
it's honestly a 1v1, to be
honest.
Wylie (01:25:44):
And uh it's Zard's turn
now.
Mimir (01:25:46):
I'll be like, all right,
my friend, let's give him the
match of the time of our lives.
And I will attack.
That's out of the box.
Doesn't count.
What's it say?
Eight.
Oh, eight, but I get to managebecause you're flanking.
Oh, it does it count becausehe's got his axe stuck on the
ground.
Wylie (01:26:01):
Yeah, that was just
flavor.
Zard (01:26:02):
Okay, that's okay.
Well, it doesn't do muchbetter.
Uh 13 to hit, so I go, shhing, and I'm like, all right, well,
maybe we should just call itoff.
We really try.
We really try.
Um I fully miss.
I fully miss with it.
Wylie (01:26:19):
And you're offering to
call it a draw?
Mimir (01:26:21):
Yeah, I'm like, well, but
not draw.
We just win, you just don'tattack us anymore.
Wylie (01:26:27):
And uh he does not seem
convinced by that.
Um it is Cobble's turn.
Kipo (01:26:33):
Okay.
Okay, that's done.
We're good.
Uh he separated them into aseparate pouch to look at in
more depth later.
Yeah.
Because you're busy right now.
Yeah, well, there is that, buthe's the other goblins too close
to because it's right next tothe bugbear.
Wylie (01:26:55):
Yeah, not really.
Yeah.
Kipo (01:26:56):
And he just swung to the
left and hit him, so he's on the
ground.
Okay.
Yeah, Cobble um is gonna justhit the rock again.
Just use it to bash him.
So yeah, let me roll to hit.
Pretty please.
There we go, non-natural 20.
Wylie (01:27:10):
Nice.
Kipo (01:27:12):
And that's eight.
Eight.
Great.
Eight plus your wisdom.
Eight of force.
That yeah, no, six.
Oh, okay.
I already added my wisdom.
Yep.
Wylie (01:27:20):
Awesome.
So um this big rock comes down, bangs him in the head, and he
tips over.
And he he falls to his knees inthe in the arena, and then just
kind of tips over sideways.
So you describe what I do.
Kipo (01:27:36):
Yeah.
Okay, so he's like looking atthe rocks and looks up and
remembers that the rock is stillfloating in his spiritual
weapon, and just like kind oflike motions his arm outward and
then pulls it towards him, andthat's where it hits the bugbear
in the back of the head.
And as it hits him, he already, even before it hits him, he
(01:27:56):
knows it's gonna hit him, looksback down as it's just already
like playing with the rocksagain, doesn't even see the
bugbear hit the ground.
Wylie (01:28:04):
Okay.
He's totally zoned out.
Zard (01:28:06):
Like, oh yeah, let me do
this.
Okay, okay, that's what I wasdoing.
So as uh all minor illusion RPSa bunch of above, like above,
and I'll do a RPS.
Morpheus (01:28:18):
RB.
I'm getting a big and at thispoint.
Amorpheus is just gonna likeput his foot up on the bugbear,
like, you know, and like raisethe battle legs above a big leg.
Wylie (01:28:28):
Because did you hit the
bugbear once?
Brad (01:28:30):
No.
Didn't hit him once.
Wylie (01:28:34):
Not a single hit.
Um that's great.
Brad (01:28:36):
Okay, and or he comes in
and just hits him one time.
Wylie (01:28:38):
It's like it's a little
extra little tap, double tap.
Um so um, Mimir, can you pleaseroll persuasion check?
Yes.
Mimir (01:28:51):
Do I get disadvantaged
because of battle axe?
Probably.
Wylie (01:28:54):
We'll make it we'll make
it straight, but um, they are
gonna be hard to persuade.
I'm gonna say you have to rolla 16 or higher.
Zard (01:29:00):
Well, good thing, because
I rolled a 12 plus five.
So 17.
All right.
I'm really trying.
I'm like, RPS RPS! And I liftyou and put you on my shoulders,
and I'm like, Ar RPS!
Kipo (01:29:17):
Okay, yeah, I'll I'll
start shaking my rock bag in the
middle of my head.
Like, I this is my prize.
Cobble (01:29:28):
We won! We win the
rocks.
Wylie (01:29:33):
Um Okay, so you you
convince some of the crowd, you
know.
Like it's it's not as fullforce as you were really hoping.
That's okay.
Mimir (01:29:40):
Some of the crowd isn't
it.
Wylie (01:29:41):
Some of the crowd is won
over, and some of the ones that
can appreciate, you know, alittle bit of a different
battle.
It's not super straightforward.
Mimir (01:29:48):
They're all like still
with the black eyes and stuff,
too, right?
Wylie (01:29:52):
Um, yes.
Mimir (01:29:53):
Yeah, so it's r it's
probably really hard to convince
these people to do it.
That's what I'm saying in myhead.
Wylie (01:29:59):
They have pretty high
standards of entertainment.
Yeah.
Um, and so as you're trying toget them to sh to do RPS, I
think more of them are going, rocks, rocks, rocks.
Yes, because they saw the rockdo the most damage out of the
whole battle.
Brad (01:30:16):
They're just chanting for
rock in in RPS.
I mean technically, you know, brought down two of them, but
that's cool.
Kipo (01:30:23):
I'm hoping Mr.
Daggers is like convinced nowthat my rock's actually.
I think right.
Wylie (01:30:28):
Yeah.
Kipo (01:30:29):
Yeah.
Wylie (01:30:29):
Um, and so as you guys
are moving out of the, you know,
out of you can see that thebetting tables that were off to
the side where everyone wasplacing their bets.
Um you can see there's anargument going on because um
some of the people are insistingthat the fight was rigged
because the bugbear attacked hisfellow like that's called
magic, my friend.
But they're they're kind ofarguing for it, like they don't
(01:30:51):
want to pay because a lot ofthem didn't think you guys would
win and stuff like that.
So there's like a bigconfrontation going down at the
betting tables right now.
Zard (01:30:59):
Oh, I would be like You
either pay or leave.
And you pay before you leave.
Uh and I'll attempt to beintimidating in that situation.
Wylie (01:31:11):
Okay, yeah, why don't you
roll an intimidation check?
Cool.
Mimir (01:31:15):
Nice.
That's so good.
That is Oh wow.
That is real good.
Uh that is 22 intimidation.
Wylie (01:31:24):
22 intimidation.
Mimir (01:31:25):
Yeah, I get like stand-up
fully straight.
I'm putting away my sword, mybook is strapped, and I'm like
putting a hand on theirshoulder.
Uh kind of intimidation.
Wylie (01:31:35):
Okay.
Um, so they all kind of likeback away from you, and the
bookie seems a little bitscared, and um he's like, All
right, here, here.
And he he tosses a small bag ofgold at you guys.
Cool.
And he's like, just get on outof here, guys, get on out of
here.
Because he's like, I gotta dealwith this mess that you made
now.
Zard (01:31:55):
Um and then I will be
like, and I will hand you uh I
will hand Morpheus the gold, andI'll be like, or you should
probably find somewhere to restnow.
Wylie (01:32:05):
And uh you hear uh a
little voice um from behind you
guys.
Um as you guys are walking out,I assume you're leaving.
Mimir (01:32:13):
Or going all the way out
where it's quieter.
Wylie (01:32:15):
Yeah, it's still pretty
rowdy on the street, but it's
it's not as chaotic as smashedinto that kind of tent barn.
Um and so you guys hear a voiceand says, Hey, you guys got
some money now?
Mimir (01:32:26):
Uh yes, we we may have
money.
We have rocks, for sure.
Wylie (01:32:32):
And you guys can't see
this character yet.
Mimir (01:32:34):
I know, but I'm assuming
it's the other it's the same
individual that's like still Mr.
Daggers.
Yeah, so Mr.
Daggers.
Kipo (01:32:40):
Can we look for him?
Wylie (01:32:40):
Yeah, you can look for
him.
Perception check.
Mimir (01:32:42):
I refuse to
Brad (01:32:50):
16 for me.
Wylie (01:32:52):
Oh, nice.
Yeah.
Okay, you spot him.
He's he's standing behindCobble.
Mimir (01:32:57):
Yeah, that almost was a
reason I gave the person with
the highest passive perceptionthe money.
Morpheus (01:33:03):
I was like, oh hey,
Mr.
Daggers.
Wylie (01:33:05):
Hey, you guys need some
help figuring out where to spend
that money?
Morpheus (01:33:08):
No, uh I don't know,
guys.
What do you think?
Mimir (01:33:12):
We need to get out of
this town.
Zard (01:33:15):
That's what I think.
Wylie (01:33:16):
What are you guys looking
for?
Morpheus (01:33:17):
Uh, just a a place to
rest, I guess.
Zard (01:33:20):
It's a safe place that's
not around this town.
Wylie (01:33:23):
You you don't want to
stay in town.
Morpheus (01:33:26):
It's too loud.
Yeah, I don't know if we'll getany sleep with it, how loud it
is.
Wylie (01:33:31):
Alright, so what kind of
place are you looking for?
Brad (01:33:34):
A quiet place.
Zard (01:33:38):
The title of a movie.
Yeah, exactly.
A quiet place.
Wylie (01:33:42):
Um, so somewhere not in
town?
Brad (01:33:45):
Yeah.
Wylie (01:33:46):
Alright, like how much
gold did you guys get?
Zard (01:33:48):
Enough.
None of your business.
We're not gonna tarry you long.
Wylie (01:33:54):
And I will tell you guys
you got wait, how much gold do
you have?
Did you ask him?
Um he's just I'm not tellingyou.
Morpheus (01:34:02):
But I'm not telling
you.
Zard (01:34:05):
I like this.
30 minutes.
Yeah, exactly.
Wylie (01:34:11):
So you could just start
walking in a random direction,
kind of looking for the quieterpart of town.
Mimir (01:34:15):
Yeah, yeah.
Wylie (01:34:16):
Yeah.
Mimir (01:34:16):
Uh while we're talking to
him.
Yeah.
Wylie (01:34:18):
Okay, yeah, he kind of
follows along with you guys
because um he's still prettyinterested by the magic rocks
and stuff.
Kipo (01:34:22):
And it's working.
Brad (01:34:24):
He's like, it's working.
Wylie (01:34:27):
Um he's like, so you got
these magic rocks, he says to
Cobble as you guys are walkingthrough town.
Of course.
Where'd you learn to do magic?
Cobble (01:34:36):
That's none.
I'm not gonna tell you.
Zard (01:34:39):
See how annoying it is
when you you know, uh, I give a
cobble a high five on myshoulder.
It's down.
Kipo (01:34:47):
Perfect.
Wylie (01:34:51):
Well, we can always trade
information, guys.
Mimir (01:34:55):
Or I can give you a ride
on my other shoulder for
information.
Wylie (01:35:00):
I'm too big for rides.
Zard (01:35:02):
I don't know about that.
I mean, look at Mr.
Cobbler, he's like 90 years oldor something.
Wylie (01:35:08):
Yeah, but he's like half
my height.
Zard (01:35:10):
Oh, that's true.
I have no clue how old we are, because I don't know.
I don't know.
Kipo (01:35:16):
You think he's looked in a
mirror?
Mimir (01:35:18):
That's true.
Wylie (01:35:20):
Um So he's he's walking
with you as you guys go through
the town, and you guys wefinally start to get to the
quieter part of town.
Yeah.
And you can see um that thispart, it's not the commercial
area where there are shops andstuff.
It's more like big houses.
And these really nice bighouses you can see seem to have
a lot of security.
There's all the barred windows, the really nice ones you can
(01:35:41):
see like patrols walking around, like maybe a guy with a dog
kind of a thing.
Um and you see probably what'sthe like the biggest, nicest
house on the street.
You suspect maybe you're onfancy street.
And um that house it has a bitof a shimmer around it, so you
suspect that they maybe havesome kind of arcane security,
like an arcane alarm system orsomething like that.
(01:36:02):
Um, but as you kind of work youkind of get through the nicer
part and kind of back to more ofthe slightly more run down,
more maybe middle class area.
Um, and you can every once in awhile, because you've got that
high passive perception, um, youglance figures kind of slinking
around, sulking around.
Um, and it kind of it seemslike maybe there's like cat
(01:36:24):
burgulars around or people arejust prowling around.
It it doesn't seem peacefulhere at night at all.
It kind of seems like that'sreally when the town wakes up
and the chaos really gets getsgoing.
And um maybe some people sleep, but you know, if if they are
leaving their house, it's kindof exposed, and if they're at
home, you know, going to sleepis still risky because it seems
like you know, people are reallyusing the cover of darkness to
(01:36:47):
their advantage.
So um so uh Mr.
Daggers walks with you for alittle ways and he's like um all
right, well, if you want to getoutside of town, I mean there's
like this cottage that's kindof hidden in the woods.
It's over by the base of themountains.
You could head over that way, Iguess.
Okay.
If you take the n the pathnorth of town, you'll probably
(01:37:09):
find it.
Just look for some smoke fromtheir chimney.
They're probably up still.
Morpheus (01:37:15):
Uh what do you know
what their name is?
Wylie (01:37:18):
I don't really talk to
them very much.
I think well, I think it's theBodhi family.
Morpheus (01:37:24):
The Bodhi family.
Wylie (01:37:25):
The Bodie family lives
there.
Morpheus (01:37:26):
Okay.
Wylie (01:37:27):
Yeah.
But they don't have a lot ofjobs for me, so I don't go there
very much.
Cobble (01:37:31):
Okay, thanks.
Bye.
Zard (01:37:34):
Where are you sweet?
You're uh you can't leavewithout me.
I mean you could, but I'm gonnahave to put you down.
Kipo (01:37:39):
No, he's uh Cobble said
that like shoeing shoeing mr.
daggers away.
You're trying to run across myarm.
He's uh just distracted byobviously Rox in his hands that
he's kind of just twirlingaround, listening to the
situation, but then with onehand just kind of shoes him
away.
Like, thanks for theinformation, yeah.
Zard (01:38:00):
You gave uh we gave you
information.
Or you gave us information.
We should give you information,right?
That's how it works.
Wylie (01:38:08):
Yeah.
Zard (01:38:08):
Okay, what do you want to
know?
Wylie (01:38:10):
Well, you guys don't
really know where you came from?
Mimir (01:38:13):
No.
Um we came from like a r uh acave or something.
Wylie (01:38:18):
A cave?
Where was a cave?
Well, in a jungle.
Morpheus (01:38:22):
Basically, if you go
back down the road, you'll cross
some wagons that were racing.
Oh, okay.
You'll find a bush that uh
Cobble (01:38:31):
No, no, no, not my bush,
not my bush.
Morpheus (01:38:33):
Oh, sometimes a
different bush that someone did
or did not hide in.
Wylie (01:38:38):
Oh, like a good hiding
bush.
Brad (01:38:40):
Yeah.
Wylie (01:38:41):
Oh yeah, I know what
those look like.
Brad (01:38:43):
Uh and then if you keep
going, you'll come across a
dinosaur.
Wylie (01:38:47):
Uh there were dinosaurs
in your cave?
Morpheus (01:38:50):
No, not in the cave,
but really more so like uh just
near the cave.
Wylie (01:38:54):
How many dinosaurs did
you see?
Brad (01:38:56):
Uh I think just one.
Seven.
Seven.
Cobble (01:39:00):
We saw seven.
Very dangerous.
Wylie (01:39:04):
Well, usually the ones
that are in like herds aren't
that dangerous.
What?
You saw seven dinosaurs?
Kipo (01:39:10):
Cobble regrets lying all.
Zard (01:39:14):
I will go.
I will go.
Kipo (01:39:15):
I just saw it.
He just wants the conversationto be different.
Zard (01:39:19):
Yes, seven dinosaurs.
What you have new rocks.
Look at your new rocks.
Cobble (01:39:27):
He's like, oh yeah.
Kipo (01:39:29):
Opens the other pouch.
Mimir (01:39:30):
We have seven dinosaurs.
I'm like super, I'm like, oh,he's telling a story.
Morpheus (01:39:34):
So he's like, locked
in.
Then at some point we crossedlike a creek or something.
Um, and then yeah, then therewas a cave.
Wylie (01:39:44):
Okay, so the dinosaurs
live by a cave by the on the
other side of the creek.
Morpheus (01:39:48):
Right.
By a racetrack.
Yep, by a racetrack.
Do you mean the road?
No, I'm pretty sure it was aracetrack.
Wylie (01:39:57):
Okay.
I don't know, I don't thinkthere's a racetrack around here,
but there's no Racetrack aroundhere.
Morpheus (01:40:01):
What would you call
something that people are racing
on?
A racetrack.
Wylie (01:40:05):
Or a road.
Morpheus (01:40:08):
Well a racetrack can
be a road, but a road is not a
racetrack.
Alright, we've given you yourinformation.
Wylie (01:40:16):
Alright, cool.
I think I might go check outthis cave.
Sounds kinda fun.
Zard (01:40:19):
Alright, be careful.
There were giant spiders there.
Wylie (01:40:21):
Alright, and if you guys
need any help tomorrow, if you
need to find your way aroundtown or meet people, I could
help you.
Zard (01:40:26):
Yeah.
Let me know if anybody has seenus.
Maybe that's a good place to doit.
Wylie (01:40:30):
Anybody recognizes you?
Zard (01:40:31):
Yeah.
For anybody has ever seen us.
Wylie (01:40:33):
Well, sure, I could take
you to like a caricature and he
could make your picture and wecould pass it around town and
say, have you seen these guys ormissing?
Zard (01:40:40):
No, we're not we're here.
We're not missing.
But that is an interestingidea.
Have you seen us?
We are here.
I'll think about it.
Wylie (01:40:51):
Alright, I gotta I gotta
go.
And he takes off and he runsright towards one of the houses
just on the side of the street, and he climbs up the drain pipe
onto the roof, and you just seehim creeping across the roof
towards the chimney.
Morpheus (01:41:04):
Wow, the kid looks
like Santa Claus.
Zard (01:41:06):
Art was taking the both
know the legend of Santa Claus.
Yeah, it's my book.
He has three chapters.
Wylie (01:41:17):
All right.
Um, so you guys head on out ofthe north of town, and if you
follow the road, and theneventually you do you have
pretty decent passiveperception.
So you pick up on the smell ofsmoke and you see a little
cottage um like as you followthe spell of smoke and um a
faint little bit of glow, youfollow it off the path.
(01:41:37):
Um it's definitely hidden.
If you didn't know to belooking for it, you wouldn't
have noticed it.
Um so it's not a place likethat people would just stop
normally as they're coming onthe road.
And it is about a quarter mileoff off the road into the woods
as you get on over there.
And so when you get to this umcottage, it's a stone cottage
(01:41:58):
and it has a metal roof, so itlooks pretty secure and sturdy,
like not easy to burn down orbreak into or cut a hole in the
wall or anything like that.
It's got a real heavy frontdoor and it's got bars on the
windows.
Um, so that's what you'reseeing.
And it's it looks fairly darkbecause the windows are
shuttered up um pretty good.
But you can tell that there issmoke coming down the chimney.
Morpheus (01:42:19):
Right.
All right.
Well then uh Morpheus justwalks up to the door and knocks.
Wylie (01:42:24):
Okay.
You knock on the door.
And there you knock.
Hard, gently, medium.
Morpheus (01:42:28):
Probably medium.
Wylie (01:42:29):
Medium.
Okay.
Um so first you hear a bit ofshuffling inside, but the door
does not open immediately.
Morpheus (01:42:35):
Uh then he just knocks
harder, as hard as he can.
Wylie (01:42:38):
Nice and loud, a little
more urgently this time.
Okay.
Um, so you knock, knock, knock, and um, it's dark at first, and
then um the door has one ofthose little slide windows that
opens where you can just kind ofsee a little bit of somebody's
face, and it has bars on it too,but it's got this little slide,
and so that little slide windowpops open, and a torch that was
(01:42:59):
sitting next to the door thatwas not lit just pops on, kind
of like when someone turns on aoutdoor light at their house.
And so they have a ringdoorbell on the city.
And uh so pops on, it's ohsuddenly a bit brighter because
you've been walking in the inthe straight darkness to get
there and stuff.
And um and uh you see some eyespop up in the little window.
Morpheus (01:43:24):
Uh first thing is do I
notice um the color of the
eyes?
Wylie (01:43:29):
Yeah.
Um yeah, with your pretty highpassive perception.
Um well, it's a little bitdark, so why don't you give me a
roll?
Brad (01:43:36):
Okay.
Can I also look?
Sweet.
Is that uh oh, it looks like aone.
Is that a one?
Yep, that's a one.
Wylie (01:43:45):
The one.
Brad (01:43:46):
On that one.
But it would be a six, butyou're not even sure if there
are eyes.
Wylie (01:43:51):
I don't see it.
Zard (01:43:52):
You don't know if you're
just you're like the flap is
above your head, so you're likelooking in the door.
Um okay.
Uh I got a fourteen.
Wylie (01:44:01):
A fourteen.
Okay.
Um, yeah, so you can see thatthe eyes that are looking out at
you are kind of blue.
And so they're not fully blacklike the eyes that you've been
seeing.
But um it it's it is hard tosee in the darkness and stuff,
but you can at least see someblue eye color there.
Mimir (01:44:17):
Okay.
Morpheus (01:44:17):
So Morpheus would
probably just be like, hey, so
uh I'm Morpheus, these are myfriends.
Zard (01:44:22):
Uh I will wave politely
and I will crouch down so
cobbles can see into theperfect.
Morpheus (01:44:27):
These are my friends,
uh, rock and paper.
And uh so we uh we don't knowwho we are, and we just showed
up to the town today and aretrying to figure out who we are
and what's going on, but thatplace is kind of weird.
Um we ended up in a fight withsomebody.
Uh I I don't know.
It was strange.
Uh I got my first job.
(01:44:49):
Um I was washing dishes.
He immediately quit after that.
Well, I kind of got fired, butyou know, let's each their own
union.
Um But uh yeah, we we just needa place to stay.
Uh we really don't feel safethere there in the city, so we
just kind of wanted to find aplace and we're told that we
should come check out here.
Wylie (01:45:08):
Okay.
And so then you hear a voiceand it says, Crikey! Sheila,
come look at this.
And you guys will find outwho's inside the cottage next
time for our next episode.
