Speaker 1 (00:00):
The following is a paid podcast. iHeartRadio's hosting of this
podcast constitutes neither an endorsement of the products offered or
the ideas expressed.
Speaker 2 (00:09):
Function better, feel better, and live a better life. This
is doctor Eric Kaplan and you're listening to boost your
brain power. If you want to be healthy and you
want to prevent disease, you have to take action.
Speaker 3 (00:24):
Now.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
You got to start doing the right things. Now, there's
a lot of information out there and people are giving
you bad health advice. So there's a lot of misconceptions
about what is healthy and what is not. For example,
a lot of people think that butter is healthy. Now,
(00:45):
there was a time where people thought butter was bad
because of the fat and the cholesterol, so then they
made up margarine. But margarines even worse than butter. So
now people are starting to go back to butter and
they think butter is healthy. But the problem with butter
(01:07):
is it's a dairy product. And if it's a dairy product,
that means it comes from the milk of the cow,
and we should not be drinking milk as adults. Milk
is for the babies, so you're not a baby, so
you shouldn't be drinking milk or any milk products which
(01:27):
include butter yogurt. Right, a lot of people think butter
is healthy, yogurt is healthy, you know. They think cottage
cheese is healthy. So they have this all these false
rumors that they think these dairy products are good for you.
There's no such thing as a good dairy product. Stay
away from all dairy and you're not gonna get your
(01:49):
probiotics from dairy. You could get them from supplements from
like Claire Laboratories is the best probiotic place you could do.
Fermentation can help with bacteria. So there's a lot of
stuff you could do on your own that have nothing
to do.
Speaker 3 (02:06):
With dairy products.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
Remember, butter is bad, Milk is bad. Dairy is bad.
That causes inflammation, autoimmune disease, skin problems, bloating, digestive issues,
lung congestion. I don't want any of that, so I
stay away from dairy products. And that's the first thing
(02:30):
that I quit when I became healthy. When I was
thirteen years old, I was a sick child. I had
chronic bronchitis, I was fat, I had acne, I had
brain fog, fatigue. I did bad in sports, poor in
school until I quit dairy products, and that changed my life.
(02:56):
And the reason I was ready to make a change
is because I was desperate. My pediatrician put me on
steroids antibiotics for my chronic bronchitis, and the medication made
me more sick than the disease. I got all nauseous,
I got throwing up. I had really weird headaches. So
(03:19):
this was the worst I've ever felt. Was when I
was taking the medicine. I hated it, so I was desperate.
I would do anything to stop taking this medicine. It
ruined my life. It made me throw up, so I
couldn't play sports. I couldn't play in tramros, I couldn't
run outside of my friends mols. I would just throw up.
(03:40):
It's embarrassing throwing up all the time from this medicine.
I would throw up dozens of times a day.
Speaker 3 (03:50):
It was super embarrassing.
Speaker 2 (03:53):
It was very depressing, but it motivated me to get healthy.
So I went to a seminar from Natural Hygiene, and
I learned that dairy is the biggest congestion in your lungs.
So I quit dairy and within one month I cured
my chronic bonchitis, and I thought, at thirteen, I know
(04:14):
more than my own pnutrition, and I owe it to
the world to teach people how to change their bad
habits to improve their health.
Speaker 3 (04:24):
So that's why I have this show.
Speaker 2 (04:25):
To boost your brain power so you function better, feel better,
and live a better life. And you could do it
if you do the work. And it starts from nutrition.
Speaker 3 (04:38):
There's so much.
Speaker 2 (04:38):
Crappy stuff out there, and it's not just dairy products.
A lot of it comes from the seed oils, where
you have safflower oil, sunflower oil, canola oil, vegetable oil,
soyed bean oil, corn oil. It's bad all these oils.
(05:00):
The only oils you should ever eat are coconut oil,
olive oil.
Speaker 3 (05:06):
Or avocado oil. That's it.
Speaker 2 (05:09):
Never put in your body any other oil. And if
you go out to eat, they're using those oils. And
this changed pretty recently, maybe even nineties, late eighties something
like that. Even fast food restaurants used to cook their
French fries with beef tallow with the beef tallo is
(05:31):
basically the fat that surrounds the organs, and they would
literally cook their food in that oil. But that oil
was more expensive, so in the nineties early nineties, they
switched and started using seed oils. And guess what also helpened.
In the nineties, kids starting getting more autism, more allergies,
(05:56):
more autoimmune diseases.
Speaker 3 (05:59):
A lot of changed in the nineties.
Speaker 2 (06:01):
So the food that I grew up with in the
eighties is different than it is in the twenty and twenties.
It's very different. It's much worse. America has approved over
ten thousand chemicals that they could put in our foods.
Most countries only have about five hundred, six hundred, seven hundred,
(06:22):
which is also a lot. But they've also banned, you know,
over nine thousand chemicals that America has approved, such as
that you know that orange food dye that comes in
the Macaronian cheese or the Doritos or the Cheetos, that's
(06:43):
banned in all other countries. Most of these food dyes
are banned. If you get fruit loops in America, it's
full of food dye. If you get fruit loops in
Canada or Europe, there's no food dye. Every country has
their own rules. So and these other corporations, we'll save
a few bucks by putting all the chemicals in America.
(07:07):
So they love the American food because they're higher profits.
Speaker 3 (07:11):
It's always greedy.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
They're gonna risk your health for their profits. So stop
eating all these foods with the food dye. They're a
banned in other countries because they cause cancer. I don't
want cancer. I don't want my kids to get cancer.
I don't want my wife to get cancer. So we
have to avoid all these food dies. We have to
avoid the dairy products and don't eat dairy free. Dairy
(07:37):
free is usually just full of crap. Don't eat anything free, right.
You don't want to eat fat free. If it's fat free,
it's full of sugar. Then you don't want to eat
sugar free. If it's sugar free, it's full of artificial sweeteners.
It's gluten free, it's full of some other crap that
(07:57):
keeps the bread together. Don't buy sugar free, don't buy
gluten free, don't buy fat free. Those are all scams.
It's marketing gimmicks to make you pay for their product.
Speaker 3 (08:16):
Eat real food. Have you ever heard of gluten free broccoli?
Speaker 2 (08:22):
No? Have you ever heard of sugar free cucumbers? No?
Have you ever heard of dairy free apples?
Speaker 4 (08:33):
No?
Speaker 2 (08:35):
They don't need to tell you that because everybody knows
that apples are healthy, cucumbers are healthy, broccoli is healthy.
But these other products, which are not healthy, they have
to convince you, so they put a lot of marketing.
Speaker 3 (08:51):
And a lot of people fall for it.
Speaker 2 (08:52):
Oh it's gluten free, it's good for you.
Speaker 3 (08:55):
Nope, Oh it's sugar free.
Speaker 2 (08:57):
Cool. No, stay away from it. You want aspartame. All
these sugar free gums. Almost every single gum is sugar free.
There's no more sugar gum anymore. Those toxic chemicals, it's
all artificial sweeteners.
Speaker 3 (09:13):
You can't even.
Speaker 2 (09:13):
Buy gum without sugar free, artificial flavors. All those diet sodas,
diet coke, diet pepsi, dyet spry, diet snapple, it's full
of these crappy chemicals that are toxic to your body
and cause inflammation.
Speaker 3 (09:33):
You want cancer.
Speaker 2 (09:35):
Stay away from all those products. You gotta stay away.
The only thing you should be drinking is water, and
you want to put either celtic salt or pink and
maleyan salt that helps to get it absorbed. Once we
are out of the drink phase of milk, because we're
not babies anymore. Now, we gotta drink water. Don't drink juice.
(10:00):
Juicing is not healthy. That's a big misconception. Don't drink
orange juice, eat the orange. Don't drink apple juice. Eat
the apple. Eat the real food. It's much healthier the
way God intended it. Stop juicing and think that's healthy.
You know what juicing does. It takes out all the
(10:21):
healthy fiber and nutrients and leaves you with all the sugar.
That's what juicing does. So if you really want a juice,
appropriately you juice, pour out the juice and eat all
the scraps because that's where all the healthy stuff is.
The sugar is in the juice, the healthy stuff is
in the fiber, in the skin, and all that stuff.
(10:44):
That's the scraps after you juice, So stop juicing. You know,
blending is better than juicing, but it's still not as healthy.
It's much better to eat the whole food. Take a carrot,
eat it with your hands. Don't drink carrot juice, don't
blend it. Eat the whole broccoli, Eat the whole leaf
of lattice, Eat the whole apple, Eat with your hands,
(11:07):
whole foods. Your digestive process starts from when you touch it.
So if you cut everything up and eat it with
a fork and a knife and a spoon, your digestion's
not going to perform as well. And if you don't
have poor di and if you have poor digestion, that
can affect your whole body, including your brain function.
Speaker 3 (11:25):
So you've got to eat real foods, not juice.
Speaker 2 (11:27):

Speaker 2 (12:33):
Function better, feel better and live a better life. This
is doctor Eric Kaplan and you're listening to boost your
brain power. There are a lot of advice that we're
given that's incorrect.
Speaker 3 (12:49):
You gotta be.
Speaker 2 (12:50):
Careful who you take health advice from.
Speaker 3 (12:54):
If you're going to take.
Speaker 2 (12:55):
Nutritional advice from a medical doctor, please understand that in
medical school they're not taught a lot of nutrition. They're
taught more about surgery and medicine. So if you have
an emergency and you need surgeon to save your life,
there's no better place to be in than America. However,
(13:17):
for chronic conditions, for preventative measures, there might not give
you the best advice because they're not taught that in school.
So for nutrition we have to look elsewhere outside the
medical profession. I believe in what's called functional medicine. Now,
(13:40):
functional medicine is where doctors look how your body is functioning,
not trying to hide symptoms with medication, which is like
a band aid, but actually figure out what is going on.
Why is your thyroid off? Not just give you thyroid medicine.
Why are you anemic. Not just give you iron pills.
(14:06):
Why do you have neuropathy?
Speaker 3 (14:08):
Not just give you B twelve right?
Speaker 2 (14:12):
Why are your liver enzymes high? Why do you have bloating?
Why do your lungs have congestion? You got to get
to the root cause. Stop treating symptoms, start figuring out
where your problems are coming from. Then you can get
a permanent solution as opposed to just keep on putting
(14:34):
a band aid over it. You got to fix it
from within, not from the outside. Your body can heal
itself as long as you get rid of interference. And
there's lots of things that can interfere with your health
and your well being, and sometimes it's actually medicine. For example,
(14:59):
These doctors make cholesterol to be this evil thing. Cholesterol
is very important for our body. Cholesterol helps with hormones,
with your cell membranes. Cholesterol is necessary. It's part of
the building blocks of our systems. So when we take
these statin drugs and it brings down our cholesterol, that
(15:23):
can have bad consequences. One of them includes dementia. So
most patients that come to me with dementia are Alzheimer's,
have a history of being on statin drugs. There's a
big connection. So if you want to prevent Alzheimer's and
(15:44):
dementia and you're on statin drugs, you better number one,
get your body healthy, and number two, find some strategies
where you don't need to rely on the medicine anymore,
because if you don't take that medicine, not gonna get
the side of effects. Now, when doctors look at cholesterol,
(16:04):
they normally think, if your cholesterol's about two hundred, you
have high cholesterol. Now you gotta take some statin such
as lipitour. Lipitoi is the most prescribed rug drug in America,
and it's been for years. It's always the number one.
Every single year. Doctors prescribe statin drugs more than anything.
(16:26):
You got a heart attack, statin drug stroke statin drugs,
high blood pressure statin drugs, high cholesterol statin drugs, high triglycerides,
statin drugs. It's very common. Not only does it cause dementia,
also causes joint pain. So not only gonna lose your mind,
but now your body's gonna be in pain.
Speaker 3 (16:46):
So it gets your brain and your body.
Speaker 2 (16:48):
So you better avoid statin drugs. You better get your
cholesterol in order, and I don't mean having it below
two hundred.
Speaker 3 (16:59):
I had a patient the other day.
Speaker 2 (17:00):
Her cholesterol was two twenty and I looked at her
blood work, goes, WHOA, this is great cholesterol. And she's like,
what are you talking about? All the doctors saying in
stanton drugs. I said, look at your HDL, which is
the good cholesterol. It's over one hundred. I wish my
good cholesterol is over one hundred. That's the healthiest HDL
(17:21):
you could get. And guess what your best defense against
bad cholesterol is.
Speaker 3 (17:27):
It's good cholesterol.
Speaker 2 (17:29):
So even though the total is above two hundred, the
ratio is good, meaning you have much better good cholesterol
as opposed to bad cholesterol. Your body is amazing at
fighting the bad stuff off. You have good bacteria to
fight the bad bacteria. You have good cholesterol to fight
the bad cholesterol. You have good brain cells to fight
(17:50):
off the bad brain cells. Your body can heal itself.
But if we start taking pills that bring down the
good cholesterols, such as statons, we're gonna become weaker. If
we take drugs that kill off the good bacteria, such
as antibiotics, that's gonna make your immune system weaker in
(18:13):
the future. If you use a mouthwash with alcohol like listerine,
you're killing off the good bacteria, which is your best
defense against bad bacteria.
Speaker 3 (18:25):
Stop using listerine.
Speaker 2 (18:26):
Start doing oil pulling where you swish your mouth with
coconut oil. That kills off the good bacteria and then
you could spin it out. But don't purposely take drugs
to kill off this good bacteria. All this purel you're
killing good bacteria. Antibacterial soaps, you're killing good bacteria. We
need good bacteria. Your body is mostly bacteria. When you
(18:50):
get sick and you heat up, that's your body heating
up to kill off the bacteria.
Speaker 3 (18:58):
It's a defense mechanism.
Speaker 2 (18:59):
So if we take medicine to bring down the fever,
now this bad bacteria isn't going to be burned off,
and now it could wreak havoc on your system and
then you get chronic illness. So if you ever have
taken antibiotics or liisteringe or purell or antibiotics, antibacterial lotions
(19:26):
and soaps and sprays, you better take some good probiotics
to replenish your gut microbiome to get that ratio better.
More of the good bacteria and less of the bad bacteria.
Speaker 3 (19:39):
That is very important. And if you do.
Speaker 2 (19:42):
Take antibiotics at eight am and eight pm, take your
probiotics at two pm directly in the middle to get
the best effect. And then you got to take a
ton of probiotics after you're done with your antibiotics. And
every two months you got to change your robiotics because
you want different bacteria, different strains. I don't care about
(20:03):
how many billions it is. I care about how many
strains there. That's the most important thing, not how many
billions of bacteria you have, but what type of strains
you have, because each strain has a different task, a different.
Speaker 3 (20:17):
Job to do.
Speaker 2 (20:19):
So you take your probiotics and then you give it
a good healthy environment so they produce on their own.
Then in a couple months you switch and get new strain,
new bacteria.
Speaker 3 (20:26):
That is the healthiest way to do it.
Speaker 2 (20:29):
But the monical medical society will have you believe that
we need to take antibiotics for all these crappy things.
But the antibiotics make you worse and worse and worse.
So be careful when you take medicine. You have to
see is this medicine appropriate for me, and not just
(20:49):
medicine supplements too. For example, calcium is the most dangerous
supplement that you could take. Calcium can even cause cancer
because heart disease ease. It could cause arthritis and degeneration.
It could cause memory problems, brain disorders because if you
take calcium when you don't need it, it's got it
deposit it somewhere, and it might be in your breast tissue,
(21:12):
and it might be in your arteries. It might be
in your brain, might be in your lungs, might be
in your kidneys, in your gall bladder. I don't want
any extra calcium in any of my organs. Stop taking
all this calcium. There's only one reason to take calcium supplements.
If your blood work shows you're severely deficient. That's it.
(21:33):
So look at your blood work. If your blood work
isn't deficient, stop taking calcium supplements.
Speaker 3 (21:39):
Please.
Speaker 2 (21:40):
You're not gonna take it because you've lost yourporosis. You're
not gonna take it so you don't drink milk. You're
not gonna take it because you're a senior citizen because
your doctor told you to take it. You're gonna look
at your blood work. If you have a severe calcium deficiency. Okay,
then it's appropriate, but it's not appropriate just because.
Speaker 3 (22:03):
You don't drink milk.
Speaker 2 (22:05):
In fact, people who drink milk do not have higher
levels of calcium levels. In fact, it's the exact opposite.
Most research shows that people who have osteoporosis are more
likely to drink milk than to not drink milk. Think
about that, people who have osteoporosis are more likely to
(22:29):
use dairy products than people who don't have osteoporosis. We've
been told to lie our whole lives. Don't believe the
hype about calcium. Do your blood work. That's how you know. Now,
one thing that does make your bones weak that is
(22:50):
very common for deficiencies is vitamin D. And actually when
you have a vitamin D deficiencies, you have a rickets,
it's called rickets, and that makes your bones really Vitamin
D deficiency makes your bones really weak, makes your brain weak,
makes your thyroid weak, makes your immune system weak. I
(23:12):
had a patient whose vitamin D levels were eight. She
came to me for depression. Immediately told her some research
that shows vitamin D can help with depression. Especially now
(23:32):
in October it's getting pretty cold, and when people.
Speaker 3 (23:37):
Go outside, the sun isn't a strong And when.
Speaker 2 (23:41):
They do go outside, they're wearing a hat or glasses,
or their jacket or their pants, and it's covering all
their skin, covering their eyes, not getting the vitamin D.
She's gonna make sure you go outside three times to
get your sunlight. Sunrise, in the middle of the day, lunchtime,
and sunset. Those are the most important times to get sun.
(24:03):
You gotta let the sun hit your eyes. Take off
your hat, take off your glasses. You gotta let expose
the skin. Get a you know, get outside from the
side of the building, get out of the shade, get
in the sun. Don't be blocking by the trees. You
want to direct sunlight. Roll up your pant legs, roll
up your sleeves, take off your hat, take off your glasses.
Get as much skin exposure as you can so you
(24:27):
can absorb that vitamin D. Now if you take a
vitamin desupplement. Don't trust a lot of the companies. Most
of them are crappy. I only trust Apex Energetics because
it's in fact it's got the k It's got the calcium,
the magnesium, the phosphorus, the biotin. It's got all the
cofactors to help with the absorption so you function better,
feel better, and live a better life. This is doctor
(24:51):
Eric Kaplan. You're listening to boost your brain power.
Speaker 5 (24:55):
If you want to improve your brain function, help with memory, focus, sleep, digestion, energy, depression, anxiety, dizziness, balance, vision, headaches,
brain fog, weight loss, or simply want to maximize your
human potential and prevent future diseases. That this is the
show for you. Don't misboost your brain power with doctor
Eric Caplan and you will learn natural, integrative, and holistic
(25:18):
approaches to modern day medical problems such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's stroke, autism,
add concussion, autoimmune diseases, insomnia, fibromyalgia, vertigo, migraines, four posture pain, TBI,
skin and digestive problems. Doctor Kaplan is most famous for
getting to the root cause of a wide variety of
brain and health conditions, rather than treating symptoms with traditional
(25:41):
medicines and risky surgeries. To contact doctor Caplan, you can
call his team at two oh one two six one
two one five zero or visit his website at kaplindc
dot com.
Speaker 2 (25:54):
Function better, feel better, and live a better life. This
is doctor Eric Blame and you're listening to boost your
brain power.
Speaker 3 (26:04):
Now, it is not.
Speaker 4 (26:05):
True that it is okay to hold your cell phone
next to your ear and talk on the phone. That's
very dangerous. It calls what it's called leaky brain. Now,
we've heard of leaky gut, where your gut gets inflamed
and bacteria can leave the gut, enter the bloodstream and
that attack different areas your body. Even worse than that
(26:29):
is leaky brain. And when you hold the cell phone
to your ear, you're creating leaky brain, which increases the
permeability to your brain, and now it can't protect you
from viruses, bacteria, metals, mold.
Speaker 2 (26:47):
Yeast, parasites, worms, all these horrible things that can now
attack your brain.
Speaker 4 (26:56):
And that could lead to dementia, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, in horrible
neuralline disorders. You do not want to increase your brain
permeability called leaky brain, and it's aggravated by all this
Wi fi and cell phone use. Do yourself a favor
(27:17):
and just get the old school wire headphones and keep
the phone a minimum of six inches from you at
all times if you're using it.
Speaker 3 (27:29):
If you're on the phone.
Speaker 4 (27:30):
You don't need Wi Fi, so turn off the Wi Fi.
If you're on Wi Fi, you don't need the five G.
Speaker 3 (27:39):
Turn off the data.
Speaker 4 (27:43):
There's no need to have your data and Wi Fi
on it at the same time, and you should never
have either of them on when it's on your person.
If you have your cell phone in your pocket, make
sure you want airplane mode, no Wi Fi, no data,
no five G, no radiation. And even if it's in
your purse, that's still not six inches from you. If
(28:06):
it's six inches or closer, you must turn everything off.
Stop radiating your body. That creates cancer. You're only allowed
a certain amount of radiation. It's like the microwave ovens
create cancer as well. Stop using the microwave. You've got
(28:29):
to minimize your radiation. I'll even tell the dentists, no,
I don't want to take the X rays. I'll go
at the airport, give me the pat down. I don't
want to go through the X ray machine. You know,
stay out of the big city as much as possible.
There's a lot of radiation from all the black guys
and computers. New York City is like a microwave oven.
(28:54):
There's a website I think it's called antennas dot com
where you can put in your zip code and see
how many towers are near you, how many antennas or
near you, And it's scary. You know, you go to
the middle of country, it's not so bad. I put
my house in the suburbs, it is a lot worse
(29:14):
than the middle of the country. And then when I
put my address in the city, very scary. So check
it out and you'll see how much of this radiation
you're getting. And it's been proven to people who have
the more radiation are more likely to get cancer. So
(29:34):
use airplane mode to turn off your phone. You don't
need it on twenty four to seven if you're carrying
your pocket, turn it off or putting on airplane mode.
Speaker 3 (29:43):
On an airplane mode, it.
Speaker 2 (29:45):
Literally takes less than a second to turn on your.
Speaker 4 (29:48):
Wi Fi or your data. Only use it when you
get it, when you're checking your mail, making a phone call.
But go and use those wire headphones, not the bluetooth.
Speaker 3 (30:01):
That's radiation.
Speaker 4 (30:02):
Also use the wire headphones. It's not safe to put.
Speaker 3 (30:08):
The phone near you. Don't sleep with it.
Speaker 4 (30:11):
People sleep with their phone under their pillow.
Speaker 3 (30:15):
That's dangerous.
Speaker 2 (30:16):
You're literally reading in your brain the whole night for
hours upon hours. I have a patient, he's a neuror,
oh surgeon, I'm conscious.
Speaker 3 (30:28):
He has a toty's braining tumors. He said. Since other smart.
Speaker 4 (30:30):
Devices have been used, we have more and more brain cancer.
I don't want brain cancer. You know, I keep the
phone off the whole day.
Speaker 2 (30:44):
You know, my friends are texting me or on these
group chats, and you know, at the end of the day,
you know, I got a hundred texts, and everyone's like,
where are you worried?
Speaker 4 (30:53):
I'm like, I'm working, I'm treating patients. I'm helping heal
the world. Guys are on your computers all day and
cell phones just radiation. Radiation, radiation and computers too. You
put it on your lap right for men, that's right
next to your testicles. For women, your ovaries, your pro
(31:13):
state for the men, the bladder. For you guys, you
don't have your computer on your lap. You need everything
six inches from you. Any of these smart devices minimum
six inches and at night six feet. Why not have
anything in your bedroom? Unplug everything, no Wi Fi, turn
(31:35):
it off, get rid of the radiation, turn off all
your data cell phones, ipaints, all right, sleep without any
of this radiation. It's messing up our brains. It's increasing
your permeability, it's making more susceptible to neurological diseases.
Speaker 3 (31:53):
This is not a joke.
Speaker 2 (31:55):
Alzheimer's is going to take over as the number one
killer in America. It's climbing and climbing and climbing, and
more people are getting more memory loss than ever before.
And I want to help you, guys. I saw my
Grandma Dotty die from Alzheimer's disease. And it doesn't happen quick.
It happens over forty years. It just starts with, you know,
(32:18):
losing your keys. It just starts with, oh, what was
the name of the person I just met five seconds ago?
You know, it starts with, oh, how come I can't
think of this actor that I always now.
Speaker 4 (32:33):
Starts with those little things. But then it gets worse,
and then you lose little daily tasks like the ability
to clean properly, cook properly, get more forgetful, You get
lost easier, and stop taking care of yourself and physically
(32:55):
start to get deteriorated. I watched my grandma go from
this beautiful vibring, healthy, passionate, bunny, energetic, wonderful grandma to
this old.
Speaker 2 (33:10):
Decrepit lady who was in a wheelchair and a diaper,
and she forgot who I was.
Speaker 3 (33:19):
Those last couple of years, I.
Speaker 4 (33:20):
Would come to visit her and she didn't even recognize me.
It's like, Grandma, it's me Eric, I'm your favorite grandchild.
Speaker 3 (33:28):
We were very close.
Speaker 2 (33:31):
You know. I was not the one that was too
cool to hang out with my grandparents. I always wanting
to be around them, even as I got older as
a teenager, I always loved there.
Speaker 3 (33:41):
Yeah, I love my grandma.
Speaker 2 (33:42):
She was so good to me. You know, I hate liver,
but I love my grandma Daddy's liver. That's the only
liver I ever ate, and I'll never even more liver again.
But because it came from love. I had that love
for you guys, because I don't want you to see
how my grandma Daddy suffered.
Speaker 4 (34:02):
I don't want you to go through that same experience.
But you gotta start now. Don't wait forty years till
it's too late. You gotta take action now. Don't believe
the lie that.
Speaker 2 (34:13):
Your memory gets worse with age. It's not true.
Speaker 4 (34:18):
Your memory can improve with age, but you gotta do
the work. You've gotta challenge yourself. You gotta do new things.
Novelty is very important. Every day you gotta do something
new that you've never done before. That's why people are
so jealous of kids' braids that they absorb it so
easily because they're always learning new things. They're stimulating the brain.
(34:39):
They're creating more connections, more synapses, more growth, more oxygen,
more mitochondria or atp.
Speaker 3 (34:47):
We need those con actions. It's called northles.
Speaker 4 (34:51):
Oh wait, you guys, by doing new things, stop doing
the same things over and over again. If every week
is the same for you, your brain's gonna die off.
It needs to be simulated in new ways. Go to
new places, meet new people, do new activities, learn new things,
take on new projects, change up your routine. Stop doing
(35:16):
the same thing over and over again. Your brain will
die off. Novelty is key. If you want to prevent
dementia and Alzheimer's, then you also neat fuel delivery. You
gotta give the brain the nutrients it needs. Everybody eats
so two much, all these white foods, of.
Speaker 2 (35:32):
These breads and pastas and rice and potatoes and oatmeal
and cereal and milk and cheese and dairy and yogurt
and cream cheese and sour cream and oh my god,
it's so much white. Stay away from the white. The
white will kill you. The sugar will kill you. The
(35:52):
sugar replacements.
Speaker 3 (35:53):
Will kill you.
Speaker 2 (35:55):
You know, sugar is dangerous and addictive.
Speaker 3 (35:57):
It's more addictive than cocaine.
Speaker 4 (36:00):
They did research on rats and they gave one group
of rats the sugar, and they gave them cocaine. Then
they give them both options, but if they chose one,
then the door would close and they could only get one.
So they got them addicted to sugar. They got them
addicted to cocaine, and they said, okay, you got a choice,
which one would you rather have? They went to the sugar.
(36:23):
The brain needed that sugar.
Speaker 2 (36:26):
So you gotta stop relying on sugar.
Speaker 3 (36:27):
You gotta start trying to sweeten everything.
Speaker 4 (36:31):
Don't let your brain need sugar, you want it not
rely on anything. I don't want my brain to need sugar.
I don't want my brain to need coffee or caffeine.
Speaker 3 (36:43):
I don't need my brain to.
Speaker 4 (36:45):
Need alcohol or a drug or a pill. You don't
want to rely on anything. You could get the energy
without the coffee. You could get relaxed without the alcohol.
You could get it's satisfied without the sugar. But you
gotta get the colors of the rainbow.
Speaker 3 (37:05):
So you gotta eat each color of the rainbow every day.
Speaker 4 (37:08):
As long as you eat something that's red, something that's orange, yellow, green, blue,
or purple. Eating the colors of the rainbow, that's getting
all your nutrients. So you stay away from all the
white foods and you eat all the colorful foods at
least one color day. That is your multi vinumin Stop
taking multivitamins. You're not deficient in all those vitamins.
Speaker 3 (37:29):
And if you eat all the colors of.
Speaker 2 (37:30):
The rainbow, then you'll function better, feel better, and live
a better life. This is doctor Eric Kaplan. You're listening

Speaker 3 (38:48):
Now.
Speaker 4 (38:48):
Don't believe the lie that your memory gets worse with age.
If you take care of three simple things, your memory
will improve with age. Number one is novelty doing new things.
Number two is fuel delivery, and fuel delivery includes oxygen.
(39:08):
You've got to get the proper amount of oxygen. Most
people aren't breeding properly. And it starts with your posture.
So when your head's down, your shoulders are rolled in,
you're all hunched over, you can't breathe. Practice it right now,
so kind of tuck your chin to your chest, roll
your shoulders in, take a breath, now, look up, roll
(39:30):
your shoulders back and take another deep breath. You can
feel the difference how much more air you get with
When your posture is better, you increase your oxygen. Now
even more important than increasing your oxygen is making sure
you get rid of your carbon dioxide. So you can
(39:53):
increase your oxygen by working on your posture and also
doing diaformatic breathing. Diaformatic breathing is when you inhale, you
push your belly down and out, Therefore you're gonna let
more room in for more oxygen. When you exhale, your
stomach comes in, then you push all the carbon dioxide out.
(40:17):
You want to get rid of the carbon dioxide. Carbon
dioxide is toxic to our brains and our body. It
creates an acidic environment. And all disease loves a cynic environment.
I don't care what it is, cancer, heart disease, diabetes, Parkinson's,
Alzheimer's stroke, they all love the cidic environments. They thrive.
(40:38):
Bacteria thrives, path parasites thrive rough. Your body becomes weaker
and weaker as it's more acidic. So you got to
get rid of the carbon dioxide. So the best breathing
exercise to get rid of the carbon dioxide is to
inhale for four seconds, hold your breath for seven seconds,
an exhale for eight seconds, and then what you do
as you get better and better, you just count slower slower,
(41:00):
but keeping that ratio. You want to do that three
times and then repeat it at least three times a day,
so minimum, you're doing that exercise nine times a day.
That's a minimum, so super easy to do, doesn't take
that long. If you have more time, do more breathing exercises.
Very important for your brain, very important for your lungs,
(41:21):
your oxygen, your immune system, your digestion. Very successful at
increasing the ability for our brain to create neuroplasticity, which
is creating new better connections with our brain that improve
our quality of life. Also for fuel deliveries. The sun
(41:44):
this stuff is free.
Speaker 3 (41:46):
Oxygen is free, the sun is free.
Speaker 2 (41:50):
But you got to go outside. You got to go
outside minimum three times a day for ten minutes, ten
minutes during sunrise.
Speaker 3 (42:00):
This is what I do.
Speaker 4 (42:01):
Ten minutes during sunrise, ten minutes during sunset, and ten
minutes in the middle of the deck. Those are your
three times. And you gotta be out in the sun,
and you gotta look towards the sun and see where
it's moving from. That helps with your hormones. So when
you do that morning walk for ten minutes, you're gonna
(42:21):
increase cortisol. Get your body going, get your brain motivated,
get your energy increased, get you focused. We like cortisol
in the morning. We want to see the sun. If
you gotta do computer work and use those smart devices
to check your email, check your text messages, do it
(42:41):
in the morning. That's when we want cortisol highest. Don't
check your smart devices at night.
Speaker 3 (42:48):
That's the worst thing.
Speaker 2 (42:51):
At night. We want to turn off all the devices.
We want to turn off all the lights. We want
to calm down our brain. So start dimming the light
every hour as the sun goes down. If you're inside now,
the best thing to do is outside sun set. Now
the brain says, Okay, the sun's going down, it's nighttime.
(43:13):
I got to increase melatonin so I could get a
deep sleep.
Speaker 3 (43:17):
Many people, especially.
Speaker 2 (43:18):
In the Tri State area, have increased cortisol levels at night.
That's not good. You're not gonna get your deep sleep.
That could literally take seven years off your life if
you're not sleeping properly. So you gotta turn off the devices.
You gotta go for a walk during sun set and
then when you get back home after sunset, start dimming
(43:39):
the lights and turn off all your devices. That way,
it calms down your brain and you can get into
that delta brain wave and get that ram cycle.
Speaker 3 (43:48):
Of your sleep.
Speaker 4 (43:50):
You could activate your pineal gland and get into circadian
rhythms to relax your brain so you're well rested. Rejuvenated
reoxygenated is where you absorb everything that you've done during
the day, but get that fuel delivery. It's from food,
it's from sunlight, it's from oxygen, and.
Speaker 3 (44:12):
It's from water.
Speaker 4 (44:13):
Now water you gotta drink, drink on an empty stomach.
Don't drink water with food, then you don't absorb it.
And also make sure you add some salt.
Speaker 2 (44:22):
To your water that's going to help to absorb it.
You don't want to just drink water pean out, drink water,
pean out. You want to absorb the water so it's utilized.
Speaker 4 (44:30):
Your brain's like a grape. When it gets dehydrated, it
shriveles up to a raisin and it's not gonna function.
You gotta drink half your body weight in ounces every day.
So if you weigh one hundred and twenty pounds, you
gotta drink sixty ounces of water and add just a
pinch of salt.
Speaker 3 (44:47):
Shouldn't be salty where you taste it, but you.
Speaker 4 (44:50):
Just want to add those minerals to help with the absorption.
I like the Pinkymelan salt or the Celtic salt very good.
They have the most minerals, over eight minerals. It's like
half the minerals ever discovered on Earth. And it helps
to absorb the water. So you drink on an empty stomach.
Speaker 3 (45:09):
Right when you wake up. You want to make some flavors.
Speaker 4 (45:11):
With some lemon or some lime, or some oranges cucomers
you like a little flavor, drink a half hour before
each meal, and then drink at night. Now that it's
getting a little bit colder and the heat's gonna start
coming on, you want to get a humidifier because their
heat dries you out. That makes you more dehydrated. If
(45:33):
you drink coffee, that's.
Speaker 2 (45:34):
A diuretic, that makes you more dehydrated. If you drink alcohol,
that makes you more dehydrated. If you have your period
that makes you more dehydrated, or if you have diarrhea
or you throw up, or you.
Speaker 4 (45:49):
Sweat a lot. That makes you more dehydrated, so you
have to add more than your typical half your body
weight announces that's your fuel delivery, so your brain functions
that optimal levels. But what you gotta do is analyze
the brain so you know what parts of the brain.
Speaker 3 (46:08):
Aren't functioning properly.
Speaker 4 (46:10):
The best test to tell you which parts of the
brain are functioning well and which parts are not functioning well.
It's called a qEEG brain mapping. Now I'm gonna tell
you about three tests. We're gonna give you guys a gift.
Speaker 2 (46:27):
Each test normally costs five hundred dollars, but I'm gonna
tell you how you could get each test for only
twenty one dollars after I explain what they do, so
stick around for the end of the show. So, the
first one is the qEEG brain mapping. It measures your
brain waves alpha, beta, theta delta, and it tells us, hey,
do you have depression anxiety? Do you have long term
(46:49):
memory problems, short term memory problems? Do you have sleep deprivation?
Speaker 4 (46:52):
Do you have a problem with your thyroid, do you
have intestinal inflammation? You have white matter inflammation in your brain.
Speaker 3 (46:58):
Do you have low.
Speaker 4 (46:59):
Acetyl cold, low dopamine. Have you had a concussion or
do you have heavy metal poisoning? Yours their pathology. It
tells it you have difficulty shifting tests, have trouble with motivation.
Tells us if you have any issues with your sensory
system like balance or hearing, or tonightis or floats in
the eyes or double vision. This test is amazing. I
(47:20):
love it. It's no radiation, you don't have to sit
in some tube, there's no contrast to fluid. It's super quick,
super easy. All you got to do is wear this cap.
It's normally five hundred dollars, but you can get it
for twenty one dollars. You just have to be one
of the serve first seven people to call, text or email.
(47:42):
The second test is.
Speaker 2 (47:43):
Called a VNG video the stagography, and with that test
is where you wead these goggles. They got infrared cameras
and they measure all your eye movements and when they
go to right and then left, and they go up,
and they go damn, they go best, and they go slow,
and they go all over the place, and we measure
reaction time, your speed your accuracy, and this tells us
(48:03):
which areas of the brain are overactive.
Speaker 3 (48:06):
And that could create you know, troubles.
Speaker 2 (48:07):
With sleep and insomnia, and you know, ADHD and excessive
worry and aggression and anger and your mind's racing million
miles per hour and you get panic and your heart
goes too fast and you know it's very you.
Speaker 4 (48:23):
Get negative thoughts and you know. So a lot of
people's brains are overactive. But detata also tell us which
parts of the brain are underactive.
Speaker 3 (48:32):
These people have.
Speaker 2 (48:33):
You know, or memory, low motivation, low energy, depression where
everything's low, always tired, fatigue, feel weak, I get some headaches.
So these are the people that are underactive. The VG
(48:54):
picks this up because that's important because the areas that
are underactive we need to stimulate, and the air that.
Speaker 4 (49:00):
Are overactive we need to calm down. And we do
this through neurologic exercise. Think of me like a physical therapist,
but for the brain. So instead of doing bicep curls
to make your muscles stronger, we do brain exercises to
make your brain stronger. And if you think about it,
there's nothing more important than the brain. But nobody teaches
you how to do brain exercises. That's what we do
(49:21):
in our offices at Capital Brain and Body. And the
third test is a one on one with me. You
could do it in my New Jersey office, my New
York office. You could do it virtually. So we're helping
a lot of people virtually because we see people all.
Speaker 3 (49:34):
Over the world.
Speaker 2 (49:36):
And during this test will check you know your coordination,
your balance, your range of motion, your respiration. You look
at your eyes and your ears. You know, we've talked
about your stomach and your heart and your circulation, and
we go over your blood work and the other test.
It takes about forty five minutes. It's normally five hundred dollars,
but for the first seven people to call text or
email you could get that for twenty one dollars. So
(49:58):
yet each test. You can sign up for all three
if you want, or you can sign up for one,
or you can sign up for two. You just have
to be one of the first seven people to call
text or email. The number is six four six two
two one six seven three eight. The email is info
at Caplinbraininbody dot com. Again, the phone number is six
(50:20):
four six two two one six seven three eight. You
could call or text just say you want all three tests.
Can I be one of the first seven people? Or
you could email info at caplinbrainanbody dot com and just
say you listen to my radio show and you want
to do all three tests for twenty one dollars each.
