This really is your chance tostart the new year strong,
supported and ready to reachyour health and fitness goals
and make 2025 your best yearyet.
Okay, so on to holiday giftguide.
(03:41):
So the first thing I'm going tocover are tech gifts that will
help a person elevate theirfitness tracking habits.
I personally have an Apple watchand I love my Apple watch.
These are really good gifts foranyone serious about their
fitness goals.
Also really good gifts forsomeone just looking to get
started.
A fitness tracker, like an Applewatch or Garmin smartwatch is
(04:05):
always a hit.
With these devices, you canmonitor your heart rate, your
steps, your workouts, and evenyour sleep.
The way that my mind thinksabout my Apple watch is I put it
on in the morning and then I getcredit for all the steps I take,
whether I'm cleaning the houseor when I'm out grocery
shopping.
And so it's a very motivatingfor me to reach my goals.
(04:28):
And it's always telling me howclose I am to my goals, or I can
look down and see how close I amto reaching my step goal for the
day.
I also use it when I do zone 2cardio to monitor my heart rate.
Really helpful.
I know the Garmin smartwatch isvery sophisticated and really
great for your active hiker orsomeone who maybe is doing
(04:49):
triathlons or those sorts ofthings.
I know one of our coaches, CoachLeanne has a Garmin smartwatch
and she is even able to trackher lifts on her smartwatch.
And the Garmin, a bonus to theGarmin is that it stays charged,
I think, for a week at a time.
So the Garmin smartwatch or theApple watch those, of course,
(05:09):
are a little bit higher endgifts.
If you're looking for a moremodest fitness tracker, The
Fitbits are really great.
And with those, you can monitoryour steps.
And I think some of them eventrack your heart rate.
So that would be a great gift toso those are some tech ideas for
your fitness enthusiast orsomeone that's really into tech.
(05:30):
Or if you want to up yourfitness game, this would be a
great gift for you to ask forthe holidays.
Okay, the other tech gift ideathat our coaches had is the
walking pad.
These are compact treadmillsthat are an amazing addition to
a home gym set up or just a homeoffice set up.
So these are perfect for someonewho works from home.
(05:53):
Or wants to stay more activethroughout the day, they're
lightweight, they're easy tostore their low impact and are
something you can put under yourdesk and just hop on when you
have, tasks that you need to getdone.
Or maybe you are watchingNetflix or scrolling social
(06:14):
media.
It's a real easy way to getextra steps in during the day.
I know that I always use it alsouse it when it's really cold
outside and I don't really wantto get to the gym, or I can't
get to the gym, or I'm notgetting outside as much as I
want.
I can get lots of steps in justdoing 10 minutes here and there
on my walking pad.
So highly recommend the walkingpad.
(06:37):
It really is a great way to makemovement more accessible,
especially for busy people.
So those are some of our techgadget moving on to the kitchen.
If you are a foodie, or if youhave foodies in your life who
also like to make healthyrecipes, I highly recommend the
Ninja Creamy.
This kitchen gadget makes highprotein ice cream.
(06:58):
It makes any type of ice cream, but you can make your ice cream
base high protein usingingredients like protein powder,
yogurt, or you can also add infruit and all sorts of mix ins,
and so it is a way To get yourprotein in that feels like you
are eating soft serve ice cream.
So we often make protein icecream for dessert.
(07:21):
My husband, who is not a cook atall, is probably the biggest fan
of the Ninja Creamy because hemakes himself a protein ice
cream every evening.
It has about 40 grams of proteinand he likes to mix in fun
things like an Oreo cookie orsome chocolate chips and it
feels really decadent.
So we love the Ninja Creamy as agift.
(07:45):
The other thing that I reallylove which is at a much lower
price point than the NinjaCreamy is my milk steamer.
So I can heat up protein shakesin my milk steamer to make warm
protein coffees.
I also like to make cold foam.
With my milk steamer to make myprotein coffee every morning.
I think you can get these forabout 30 bucks on Amazon and you
(08:08):
can really almost make a copycatStarbucks with a milk steamer at
home.
Protein Shakes don't really heatup well in the microwave, so
it's a way that you can make aprotein creamer out of a protein
shake, or a protein based coldfoam, or just a cold foam to add
to an iced coffee that makes itfeel pretty decadent and like
(08:31):
you are having a Starbuckstreat.
So those are our ideas for thekitchen.
Okay, the next category of giftswe have are what we are calling
experience based gifts.
So These are more personal giftsthat can be incredibly
thoughtful for someone who isjust getting started with
fitness.
Or maybe if you are again, arelooking to uplevel your fitness
(08:55):
experience, you can give a giftcard for a personal trainer or
coach.
If you belong to a gym, just goto the front desk and ask if you
could buy a gift card to workwith one of their trainers.
You can also give someone a giftcard for a gym membership and
then also the boutique fitness.
(09:15):
Studios out there like OrangeTheory or Power Life Yoga or F45
also, I'm sure have gift cardsthat you could give to someone
if they just want to mix uptheir fitness routine.
So these are really fun gifts togive and to get.
They really tell someone thatyou believe in their goals.
(09:35):
And can mean a lot more than aphysical item that might just
collect dust in the corner.
So we really love givingexperience based gifts.
Of course, if you are a longtime listener, or maybe you just
found us and you really want towork with us, you could ask for
a coaching package with us foryour holiday gift.
And we have definitely hadclients who've done that, and it
(09:59):
really helped them get them ontheir fitness and wellness
journey by having 1 on 1coaching with 1 of our coaches.
So a lot of the gifts that I'vebeen talking about are, higher
ticket items.
And so I also we also wanted toinclude some gifts that are at a
lower price point, but are alsosupport a healthy lifestyle.
(10:22):
So we're going to talk aboutsome budget friendly options
that, like I said, still supporta very healthy lifestyle.
So here were some ideas that wecame up with.
So number one, Stanley or Yeticups.
These are great for stayinghydrated throughout the day.
I got a Stanley last year forChristmas, and I love it.
I drink a lot more water justhaving a Stanley.
(10:46):
It's cold.
It has a wonderful straw.
I'm sure I drink more water withmy Stanley than I would if I
didn't have that.
So these are great gifts.
Epsom salts or bath soaks aregreat for soothing sore muscles
after workouts.
Macro friendly cookbooks likeLily Eats and Tells or O Snap
(11:06):
Macros.
Both of those bloggers haveamazing cookbooks and amazing
recipes.
We also have an affiliate codefor LaurenFitFoodie and you can
buy a meal planning membershipfrom her.
We will include links to thatdiscount in the show notes.
Digital food scale is great forprecise measuring and portioning
(11:29):
your food.
If you buy our holiday package, you will get one.
So maybe cross that off yourlist.
If you know that you're going toparticipate in our holiday
promotion.
A really nice set of measuringcups and spoons can be a really
nice gift for someone who'sgoing to be doing some food prep
or if you are going to be doingfood prep, having a nice set of
(11:50):
measuring cups and spoons can bereally nice.
A pedometer is a great gift foranyone who wants to track their
smartwatch, also veryaffordable.
We also like gourmet vinegars, salts and spices to give us
gifts.
We do have a discount code forbaker and olives.
So we will include that in theshow notes.
(12:13):
I've given that many years asgifts, a set of.
Gourmet vinegars and oils, andpeople report that they love
them.
Gourmet coffees or teas are acozy but healthy, health
conscious treat.
And then gift cards for fitnessapparel, like from Lululemon or
Athleta or Aerie.
(12:34):
It's great at the beginning ofthe year to be able to throw out
some of your stinky workoutclothes and start the year fresh
with some new workout clothes.
I really can't think of anywoman that wouldn't love a gift
card to 1 of those stores.
And also a nice journal fortracking your strength training
progress.
We're jotting down fitness goalsis a nice gift as well.
(12:54):
Like I said, I love my Stanleycup.
I have it with me.
I almost all the time.
I think I would get be very sadif I lost it.
So that's a great gift.
And then 1 of the favorite, myfavorite gifts that I've ever
received was a tee box, like thetee box that you get at a
restaurant that was full of ofdifferent flavors of teas and it
(13:15):
felt so luxurious and was such athoughtful health conscious gift
that I loved that gift.
And again, it's to me, a muchbetter option than running to
target last minute and buying, the five pound Reese's peanut
butter cup.
Any of these I think are goingto be better than the last
minute panic reactive gifts thatyou find when you just run to
(13:37):
the store last minute and don'tknow what to buy someone.
Think of those as you are doingyour last minute shopping.
Okay, finally, I'm going to talkabout some healthy holiday
recipes.
Holiday food can be verycaloric.
It can be very heavy in carbsand fat.
One of our best strategies forstaying on track during the
holidays is to bring a dish thatyou love that aligns with your
(13:59):
goals.
So I polled my coaches and hereare a few of their favorite
healthy recipe ideas.
The first is a cottage cheesespinach dip.
This is a lightened up take onthe classic spinach dip from
Osnap macros.
I will include the link to thatrecipe in the show notes.
And it's, it is a complete gamechanger.
Cottage cheese is blended intothe base for a creamy texture.
(14:22):
It also adds a boost of protein.
If you're not aware, cottagecheese is really having its
moment right now, maybe takingthe place of cauliflower rice.
It's almost in every recipe Ithink I see on Pinterest.
But again it's a great way toreplace cream cheese or sour
cream that gives you someprotein is much lower in fat and
(14:44):
we love serving this recipe withsome fresh veggie sticks or
whole grain crackers.
And everyone loves thisappetizer.
The next recipe, if you're askedto bring aside.
To maybe a holiday dinner thisis a side that we really love.
It's very fancy, but doesn'tpack much of a calorie punch.
(15:04):
So these are roasted mushroomswith garlic and herbs.
This is a recipe from SkinnyTaste.
This is a very simple recipe tomake.
It's delicious.
And again, it's perfect as aside dish or appetizer.
The mushrooms are roasted toperfection by tossing them with
garlic and fresh herbs and adrizzle of olive oil.
So even people who don't likemushrooms tend to love this
(15:27):
recipe.
So again, I will include thatrecipe in the show notes.
And then the final recipe thatour coaches love to make is for
the people with a sweet tooth.
So it's dark chocolate bark withnuts and dried fruit.
So all you have to do for thisrecipe is melt high quality dark
chocolate, spread it out on abaking sheet and then sprinkle
(15:50):
it with any variety of nuts thatyou like.
This could be almonds orpistachios and then some dried
fruit like dried cranberries, dried cherries I would say
chopped up.
apricots.
You can really go with whateverflavor combo sounds good.
And it's, then you break youcool it, set it in the fridge,
(16:11):
and then when it comes out andit's hardened, you can break it
up.
And so this again, feels veryfancy.
I think that Barefoot Contessahas a version of this recipe,
but it's one that I like tomake.
And It definitely satisfies yoursweet tooth without, being so
full of calories and fat andcarbs.
All of these recipes are simple, they're healthy, and I guarantee
(16:34):
you that they will impress yourguests if you bring them to a
holiday function.
This wraps up our 2024 holidaygift guide.
We hope that you will use someof these ideas and find that you
can celebrate health andwellness while enjoying the
holiday season.

getting out of shape.
(17:18):
