Speaker 0 (00:00):
Welcome back to
another episode of Boost your
Visibility.
Today we're going to talk aboutwhat is going to be in and
what's going to be out in 2024.
So I have done a deep dive onall of the platforms and I have
researched things like what AdamMosere, the head of Instagram,
has said that will be favored inthe next year.
(00:20):
I've looked at the Pinteresttrends that are predicted for
2024 and there are a couple ofthemes.
I've boiled them down to seventhings that I believe will be in
in 2024 and seven things that Ibelieve will be out in 2024.
So, to get us started, thefirst thing is going to be real
conversations, like this face tocamera real discussions.
(00:43):
Instagram is talking aboutcreating more private spaces.
I don't know what that means, but within the app, to have one
on one conversations.
As we've talked about in pastepisodes, people have become
very private.
We do have an election yearhere in the United States and
that always makes people muchmore quiet on social media at
(01:04):
certain points leading up tothat.
So it makes a lot of sense.
So real conversations is numberone.
Number two is posts that aremore sincere, from the heart,
things that people feel likethey're right there with you and
they can relate relatability.
So number three isindividuality and a lot less
(01:26):
concern of what other peoplethink.
Thank goodness, let's pleaselet that be what comes in 2024.
Number four is blending higherquality visuals and captions
with great copywriting, with afeeling of I could step into
this moment.
So what does that mean?
That means that, yes, snapshotsare okay, but people are
(01:48):
expecting higher quality nowfrom their visuals, with that
relatability factor.
So it is a talent that you haveto learn and a combination that
, if you can get the mix ofthose things of high quality
video, great writing, so peoplefeel like, again, they're right
there with you and they canrelate and that they can feel
(02:11):
like they could step right intothat photo, that moment, that
story that you're telling.
All right.
So number five is more face tocamera, especially in stories.
Now, why stories?
Well, because when someoneresponds to a story that goes
straight to our private messages, that creates more
opportunities for marketing,sales, relationship building.
(02:33):
So they are going to befavoring accounts, from what I
understand, that are notoveractive in stories but are
active in stories to the pointthat their followers like to
consume them.
And then number seven ishonoring the struggle just as
(02:53):
much as the achievement.
So what that means to me issharing more behind the scenes,
sharing more of the strugglesthat come along with the
triumphs.
So that is what I believe is infor 2024.
Now, what about what is out in2024?
Out is a fear of judgment.
In my opinion, you have to letthat go.
(03:15):
If you are afraid of whatpeople think, you're never going
to get anywhere.
I've been there.
I've spun my wheels.
I have held back on a lot ofthings that I could have gotten
started much sooner, like thispodcast, had I just let that go
much, much sooner.
Now I really don't give a rip.
I'm here to reach more peopleand help more people, and that
is my true north.
(03:35):
That's what I do.
So that's number one is gettingover a fear of judgment.
Number two is are the posts thatsay this is how you can make
10k, but you need to buy myproduct?
I believe that people are verysmart.
People that scroll these appsdon't want to see that anymore.
That is way overdone and it'sobnoxious.
That's just my opinion.
(03:56):
I get it that it's a salestactic, marketing tactic.
It's just not something that Ithink is sustainable over time,
because eventually people willrealize they're not making 10k
in a day or whatever 100k in aday.
So then number three is postingfor the peer purpose of likes
and comments.
We all get caught up in that.
(04:17):
We all look at our vanitymetrics.
But if these apps are movingtoward more realness and more
relatability, then the pressurefor likes and comments really
needs to be gone, and a lot ofpeople are turning off their
like numbers, and I think that'ssmart.
It helps you to kind of releaseyourself of that.
(04:37):
So that is something thatyou're kind of caught up in,
where you feel like a failure attimes because you're not
getting the like count thatyou'd like for this post or that
.
Just shut off the like count,it's okay.
So next is the pressure to posta story multiple times a day.
This could and should be apodcast in and of itself.
Stories is a dance and it'sreally important to pay
(05:01):
attention.
If you start using stories,it's critical to really watch to
see what it is that people wantto see and the amount of
stories that they like and seemto accept, without just tapping
through or getting unfollows.
Stories are definitely a danceand something to take time with
(05:23):
and pay attention to, but it isvery, very worth it when you
start using them.
So I don't think there's a needto post multiple times a day.
I know there's some people thatI follow that have 20 stories
in a day and that's just notsustainable for one social media
marketer or one small businessowner or an employee that's
(05:44):
running social media for acompany.
We all have a lot on our platesand that's not sustainable.
But I do think that getting alittle more active in stories is
very smart because again, thatleads to those personal
conversations and directmessages.
Next, I believe that the getready with me videos will be
gone.
I don't love those.
(06:04):
That's just my opinion.
I did, you know, thought theywere interesting in the
beginning, but now they feelvery staged and they've been
done, kind of been there, donethat, and I think that we are
going to see an expectation of alot more creativity, a lot more
realness.
I get that like people having aconversation while they're
putting their makeup on can bereally relaxed and relatable,
(06:27):
and the people that are good atthat are very talented at not
only doing two things at oncebut being real.
It's not easy when you'reworking in the social media
world, especially if you'reworking in the beauty industry,
it's or you know, influencerindustry.
It's difficult and trendingaudio and jumping on trends in
general.
That's number six.
(06:48):
I think that there will be aneed to pay attention to the
trends and it's good to usetrending music, but I think it,
I've noticed with my accountsthat I manage, including my own,
when I choose music that fitsthe moment or fits the context
of what I'm trying to convey.
Those reels do much better thana trending audio.
(07:10):
So again, it's really beingauthentic and real and crafting
great content.
At number seven is feeling likea failure.
That's out for 2024.
We have to again let that go.
We all feel like a failure atcertain points, but it's
changing the narrative up herein your mind that you can't
always get it all done in a day,and that's okay.
(07:31):
Whatever.
Tomorrow's a new day, newpossibilities.
You can crush it tomorrow.
Just don't give up and giveyourself a lot of grace.
So that is what I believe willbe in and out in 2024.
And I would love to hear in thecomments what you think will be
in or out for 2024 or whatyou'd really like to never be a
(07:51):
trend again and just to go awayon social media, but I would
love to also hear what you'd seeas more inspiring, that you
want to have more in your feedas well.
So comment to this.
I would love and appreciate it.
