Pot still, was originally introduced as a single
barrel back in 2008.

Now they got really sneaky about 20 15.
And just quietly decided it was a small
batch. Yeah. They didn't tell anybody. They didn't
announce anything. They just... All of a sudden
2014,
single barrel 2015,
small batch.
So... You can do that. Right? Yeah. Well,
can't because they they they just can't clearly

put on the bottle that it's it's a
single barrel. Right? Okay. They have to...
But they didn't with any fan fare gust.
Yeah say, it's now a small batch. They
just... This is how I came out. And
and I would
venture to say that I think they did
that because it was becoming 1 of those
ones that you could not find.
You could not get this for a long
time. Okay? Well... And then all a sudden,

you saw it, and it was there, and
it's Good. Well... And so a big part
of that was
they took a little hiatus in 20 12,
on dis stealing.
Not exactly, sure. I don't I don't remember
what it was.
But but, yeah, they had a they had
a little hiatus for whatever reason that dis

s and and then trying to come back.
Now part of that could have been,
if you think about, it was right around
20 12:20 14,
Bourbon really started taking off again. It's been
taken off quite a bit. A lot of
people like Knob Creek had to get rid
of their age statement for a while. A
lot of people did a a lot of
stuff because
They were trying to... All of a sudden

bourbon
busted out in popularity.
Yeah. And I mean, Bourbon is at least
a 2 year investment to be straight bourbon.
Yep. Right? Yeah. To be any good quality
bourbon, it's gotta be 4 to 7 years
old, 9 for most of them,
you know, hey. If you weren't 9 years
ago, sitting back and
and in 20 14 going, You know I've

bet it crap. Ton more people are gonna
be drinking bourbon in 10 years. Yeah.
Yeah. So now the nice thing about that
is is that the rate of production, if
tastes change again, which they probably will like
they did in the seventies.
You're gonna find a lot of bourbon really

when it was initially brought in as a
single barrel product back in 2008.

had been in a declining popularity. The seventies
came along,
everything became about purity about this about Christmas.
And that was the big Vodka craze. That
was the Vodka craze. Yeah. And then they
started doing crazy stuff with bourbon and, like,
trying to trying to produce white bourbon.
Yeah. You know, so that it looked clean

and Crisp and... It sounds like racial appropriation.
Actually the the funny thing. Funny. The funny
thing there's there's always been this bourbon that's
not tinted in the Us. Yeah. Yeah. It's
for It's called Moon moonshot. Yeah.

Now, again, you know, about 20 15 when
we had that uptick, everybody really started jumping
back into Bourbon. That's when we saw this
first.
Resurgence suburban was right around 20 14, 20
15. That's when they went to a small
batch. Again, my my guess is going to
be
they just ran out. They just... They didn't
have a lot of 8 to 10 year
old sitting around anymore and and you all...

And you wanna go on because Bourbon not
considered fully matured. Mh. Until it's 23 years
old. Really? Wow. Yeah. That laws. 23 years
old. So that's the whole thing for a
master dis still. He only gets

fully matured batches,
Fully matured mash bills in his lifetime. So

he goes 23 years. He tastes it. Sees
what it is,
decides to make a couple of little tweaks,
comes out with something new, goes another 23
years, tweak sit, and then his third batch,
which is considered to be, you know, his
his best batch is the 1 he leaves
for another generation because
he's dead. Right.

Like it's like those guys that built Not
or dumb. Right? Right, like this career choice.
I'm a... I'm gonna make these plans, but
you're gonna, you know, you need you to
know those guys that are doing the the

fruity, caramel, sugary,

know, it was high. It was 71 percent
corn. I mean, Yeah. You you can't get
much sweeter than corn whiskey. Right? I mean,
And so I I think, I I could
see where that would probably be a little
more in your flavor profile. Because you drink

rum all the time. So a lot of
sense to me. Yeah. So,
so probably not the 1 you would buy.
Like, you glad you tried it. You wouldn't
turn it away. But... Yeah. Yeah. Yeah I
I wouldn't I I wouldn't seek it out.

Old forester has been around forever. Old forester
tweak their their recipe too them.

And just quietly decided it was a small

single barrel 2015,
small batch.
So... You can do that. Right? Yeah. Well,

put on the bottle that it's it's a
single barrel. Right? Okay. They have to...
But they didn't with any fan fare gust.

venture to say that I think they did
that because it was becoming 1 of those

time. Okay? Well... And then all a sudden,

they took a little hiatus in 20 12,
on dis stealing.

Now part of that could have been,
if you think about, it was right around

Bourbon really started taking off again. It's been
taken off quite a bit. A lot of
people like Knob Creek had to get rid
of their age statement for a while. A

bourbon
busted out in popularity.
Yeah. And I mean, Bourbon is at least
a 2 year investment to be straight bourbon.
Yep. Right? Yeah. To be any good quality
bourbon, it's gotta be 4 to 7 years
old, 9 for most of them,
you know, hey. If you weren't 9 years
ago, sitting back and
and in 20 14 going, You know I've

bet it crap. Ton more people are gonna
be drinking bourbon in 10 years. Yeah.
Yeah. So now the nice thing about that
is is that the rate of production, if
tastes change again, which they probably will like
they did in the seventies.
You're gonna find a lot of bourbon really

Bourbon was gonna start falling off and something

is coming from from breaking bourbon and a

to be around 8 to 10 years old
when it was initially brought in as a
single barrel product back in 2008.

back in 2008, there was a lot of
readily available, high bourbon out there. Right?

I age. High aged. High age. Age. Okay.

Yeah. So in other words, you know, Bourbon
had been in a declining popularity. The seventies
came along,
everything became about purity about this about Christmas.
And that was the big Vodka craze. That
was the Vodka craze. Yeah. And then they
started doing crazy stuff with bourbon and, like,
trying to trying to produce white bourbon.
Yeah. You know, so that it looked clean
(16:32):
and Crisp and... It sounds like racial appropriation.
Actually the the funny thing. Funny. The funny
thing there's there's always been this bourbon that's
not tinted in the Us. Yeah. Yeah. It's
for It's called Moon moonshot. Yeah.
Corn liquor. That's what they would say. Okay.
Yeah. Yeah.

Now, again, you know, about 20 15 when
we had that uptick, everybody really started jumping
back into Bourbon. That's when we saw this
first.
Resurgence suburban was right around 20 14, 20
15. That's when they went to a small
batch. Again, my my guess is going to
be
they just ran out. They just... They didn't
have a lot of 8 to 10 year
old sitting around anymore and and you all...

And you wanna go on because Bourbon not
considered fully matured. Mh. Until it's 23 years
old. Really? Wow. Yeah. That laws. 23 years
old. So that's the whole thing for a
master dis still. He only gets

fully matured batches,
Fully matured mash bills in his lifetime. So

he goes 23 years. He tastes it. Sees
what it is,
decides to make a couple of little tweaks,
comes out with something new, goes another 23
years, tweak sit, and then his third batch,
which is considered to be, you know, his
his best batch is the 1 he leaves
for another generation because
he's dead. Right.

Like it's like those guys that built Not
or dumb. Right? Right, like this career choice.
I'm a... I'm gonna make these plans, but
you're gonna, you know, you need you to
know those guys that are doing the the
crazy horse.
Yeah. The crazy horse monument.
It's been going on for, like, 3 generations.
Yeah exactly. Yeah. Well, and see, you know
what? I don't have a problem with the
guy that that came up with it. And
he had this grand vision and Right Okay.

it finishes and light his lifetime so he
never knows what it was like without it

What I feel sorry for is all the

because I know it's... This thing gets right

much sweeter than corn whiskey. Right? I mean,

see where that would probably be a little
more in your flavor profile. Because you drink

sense to me. Yeah. So,
so probably not the 1 you would buy.
Like, you glad you tried it. You wouldn't

Old forester has been around forever. Old forester
tweak their their recipe too them.
