That a 9 year old boy’s chance encounter with police officers working a traffic accident would eventually lead to his 35 year career as a police officer.  Another fascinating podcast episode with a stand-up, old school cop who retired after 35 years with the Tacoma Police Department in Tacoma, WA. Jerry Lerum’s exciting and varied career included assignments to patrol, K-9, Traffic Division, Homeland Security, and Homicide Investigations after which he retired with the rank of Lieutenant. Jerry shares some of his exciting experiences as a police officer, as well as his post retirement position as an Organized Crime Investigator for a large scale national retail chain.
