Cindy has devoted her life to the wellness and watersports industries. As a
fourth-generation resident of Lake Austin, where she still lives along with a Hill Country
cabin near the Medina River, her connection to Texas waterways runs deep. Inspired by
her father, Cindy has spent years exploring the state’s lakes and rivers, blending her love
for water with a strong commitment to health, philanthropy, and business.
As Director of Marketing and Wellness and a member of the Executive Committee at
Lake Austin Spa Resort, Cindy plays a key role in shaping the resort's direction. Her
background in Health Promotion allows her to expertly collaborate with resort teams to
develop wellness programs while crafting marketing strategies that consistently earn
global awards and recognition for the property.
Cindy’s personal and professional life has been closely intertwined with the wellness
and watersports industries. She currently sits on the Texas Parks and Wildlife Boating
Advisory Committee, is a Flatwater Foundation Dam That Cancer Event Support Paddler,
a former Lululemon Athlete Ambassador, and noted as one of Austin Fit Magazine’s
Best of Austin Workout Coaches.
As a former competitive water skier, professional Sea World show skier, paddleboard
racer, corporate wellness director, personal coach, private trainer, and competitive
Ironman athlete, wellness and water have continuously shaped Cindy’s life and
positively influenced those around her.
Cindy’s commitment to wellness is further reflected in her co-founding of Operation Get
Out, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides events, outings and resources for individuals
and organizations to intentionally utilize nature and water for positive mental, emotional
and physical wellness. Among its many offerings is Get Out Girl Surf and Paddle Jam,
the largest all-female wake and paddle event in the nation. Now in its 11th year, this
event supports female first responders, military and nurses and was established in
honor of Kristin McLain and Jessica Hollis, both Travis County first responders who lost
their lives in the line of duty.
As an Ambassador of Blue Mind science, Cindy passionately advocates for the wellness
benefits of being in, near, and on the water. Her mission is to help others discover the
transformative effects of water on health, inspiring them to not only improve their
well-being but also to protect and cherish our natural waterways.

Cardiac Cowboys
The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
