Author, journalist, writer and my former colleague at Fox News Hollie McKay joins us on this episode of Brace4Impact, to discuss potential fixes and accountability for the opioid and Fentanyl crisis, her experiences reporting abroad for many years, and how the personal story of just one person can change the world.
Hollie, who is now an independent journalist, has reported from Afghanistan, Ukraine, parts of Europe and other locations abroad, to tell the stories of downtrodden people who’ve been trampled by tyranny, yet who still found a way to recover some semblance of normalcy and happiness in their lives.
She also discusses why people are leaving bigger media companies and how these organizations may soon become dinosaurs, as internet podcasting and online posting becomes king.
She genuinely cares about making life better for those who have suffered, by telling their stories in a compelling and honest way to inspire others all over the world. Truly, one of the best in the business and a great ally to have in your corner when you’re facing insurmountable odds.
We fit so much info into just a half hour of talking and she delivered her thoughts completely unvarnished. Something that can’t be said for many in this business.
I recommend keeping an eye on her work because no matter where she is reporting from, or who she is doing it for -- her stories always seemed to stand head and shoulders above the rest, reminding me of a simpler time in media that we badly need to get back to.
Enjoy and always remember what one can do when they are simply armed with the power of belief.
