(01:22):
you guys have been watching the YouTube, watching the Patreon,
or even if you are just listening. This is the
first time that I'm having her on the main podcast.
Speaker 1 (01:33):
She's been on the Patreon before.
Speaker 4 (01:36):
We talked Invincible, we talked Baddies, We just talked so
many things that day and I was just like, yeah,
gotta get her for the main one day.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
And this was for the patreons.
Speaker 5 (01:49):
So I feel extra honored, always grateful to be here.
Speaker 4 (01:52):
Yes, I have Aliyah with me today. Obviously you want
to put all our information below, y'all. Bet I'll follow her,
support my girl, Okay, And we are gathered here today
on this good pod this Sunday to talk a show
that people are watching and loving religiously that is actually
(02:15):
long over do called The Heated Rivalry, And boy, what
a name for the show.
Speaker 1 (02:27):
Heated.
Speaker 5 (02:28):
It is keeping me heated on these cold, cold New
York days.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
What degrees is it?
Speaker 3 (02:34):
There?
Speaker 1 (02:34):
Is it snowing?
Speaker 3 (02:35):
Yet?
Speaker 1 (02:35):
Doesn't like home alone.
Speaker 3 (02:37):
It snowed two nights ago, very lightly at like two am,
but today today is just a nice warm day, probably
about forty degrees.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
That's freezing for me. Yeah, I mean, you know you
need a bundle. You get used to it.
Speaker 3 (02:53):
You know exactly exactly. Okay, so heated rivalry. If you
guys didn't know, it's actually based off of a whole
book series I had heard about. This is being adapted
to Crave It, which is a Canadian production company that
produces drag Race Canada, which.
Speaker 1 (03:15):
Is I'm like, how did y'all go from? But anyways, child.
Speaker 3 (03:20):
No, I mean good old Canadian production companies like brought
us things like Geo Grassy drag Race Canada.
Speaker 5 (03:26):
I'm like, they are killing it up there.
Speaker 3 (03:29):
Yeah, like I trusted them, but it's just such a
far jump to go from drag Race to what feels
like in a twenty.
Speaker 1 (03:37):
Four oh yeah, like movie.
Speaker 4 (03:41):
Baby, Like, this is what this is to the gaye
what Challengers was to the girls and gays exactly.
Speaker 3 (03:48):
That is kind of how I heard about it, just
lightly on threads. People are like, this is like Challengers
but no girls.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
I was like, oh, I mean, let me check that out.
Speaker 3 (03:59):
And then they do show well and also hearing like
that it was HBO Prime Time hunching.
Speaker 1 (04:08):
That's the difference that is different.
Speaker 4 (04:11):
We all know, like it depends on what gay shows
that you have been exposed to.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
Like obviously the Little teen bopper ones.
Speaker 4 (04:20):
I wouldn't expect them to be fucking down on like
Netflix obviously, but with HBO, with their shows, they are
always just pounding it out and they show everything, and
I'm like, oh.
Speaker 3 (04:34):
Don't act like you're not HBO. Now, y'all better show everything. No,
we turn off the light shroud like.
Speaker 4 (04:40):
And they did, and they do, and I am just like, hell, yeah, let's.
Speaker 3 (04:47):
Fucking go now truly like mouth again, like like clutching
my pearls in the best way.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
At everything, like oh oh, they went for it.
Speaker 3 (04:56):
Okay, listen, you would think that I am literally a
gay man the way that I wait for these episodes
to come out and talk about them, like I watched
it before my roommate who is a gay man who
is planning on reading the book, but he's such a
book snob that he's like, I'm not I'm not going
to read it until I can get the physical copies.
(05:17):
I'm like, okay, excuse me, and the physical copies are
all sold out right now. I thought that Rachel read
and you know, her publishers did not expect it to
be such a hit, and they should have. Thank you.
Speaker 4 (05:33):
I think that you're the only person that I've talked
to where I'm like, they should have expected this to
be a hit, because this is the first of its kind.
Like not only it's not just the sex scenes, although
that is a positive. It's obviously you have two hot men,
and then you also are doing like the characters justice.
(05:53):
This isn't a show where we're just talking about like
homophobic people, you know, like in the is it shameful?
Like no, we have storyline. We have I mean, we
don't care about hockey, but we have hockey. We have
plot points, we have like parties, we have backstory, we
have all the things that are in a straight show,
(06:16):
but we have it in a show with gays on it,
which is important because it's long overdue.
Speaker 3 (06:23):
And like there are you know, the nuances of you know,
the hardships of being a queer person, but like you said,
it's not really focused on that. It's like a night
right happier like truly, like everything's kind of played out
how it would and like paterosexual you know, romanticy or
whatever you want to call it, and that's something love that.
Speaker 4 (06:43):
This is basically you guys, this is your spoiler warning
if you have not watched the first three episodes, which
this is Sunday It's pott. Miss y'all should have been
on this because I've been threatened about it, and I
told y'all on Threads, if I'm threadned about something, we
probably gonna talk about it.
Speaker 1 (06:59):
So I've been worrying about it.
Speaker 4 (07:02):
And also I want to let you guys know that
I found out that it drops at midnight, like midnight
midnight ET, not three am. So I was just like
happy as a clam when I heard on HBO Max
and the third episode was out. Unfortunately, there are only
going to be six episodes, so I'm just like, not
(07:22):
only are you not prepared with your books, but you
also don't have at least an eight episode season. When
the season is going this good, how are we going
to resolve anything in six episodes?
Speaker 3 (07:36):
I know, and like we will get to it, definitely,
but you know, the last the third episode, I was
hearing some or seeing some complaints and people are like,
why are we wasting it on the side characters? But
for me not quickly my favorite episode so fun exactly.
The media is like you were saying, it's only six episodes,
but the way people have been talking about this, I
was like, surely there's so many episodes out already by
(08:00):
the time I walked, and I'm like, oh, there's only.
Speaker 4 (08:02):
Two, and that's why it's so easy to catch up,
Like it's one, it was two, and then the third
one came out on Friday, and it's what fifteen minutes
and you are good to go, like it is just
such a good job.
Speaker 1 (08:16):
Okay, So that was your official spoiler warning.
Speaker 3 (08:19):
If you have not watched it, go watch it, then
come back and chat with us about it. Boom, Yes, exactly,
so woo woo woo. Spoilers my my, Okay, my qualms
were hockey like or sports of any kind. I was
just like, I don't.
Speaker 4 (08:40):
I just don't want to watch anything that has to
do with sports, Like I don't care about them like
that unless you know I've sent court side or something
like I don't know what happened.
Speaker 3 (08:53):
Sports don't And I grew up in a baseball family
like and I still cannot be bothered by sports the same.
When I was here hockey like, I was like whatever,
because no, you know, people don't lead with queer, which
would have been been like, all right, I'm in like
gay hockey players.
Speaker 4 (09:09):
Right, and then when they do say, oh, okay, but
it's gonna because I heard about being like in production
or whatever, and I'm like, oh, based on the book,
a hockey book, Okay, there's gonna be queer characters. I
just thought they were gonna be queer characters and like
that was it. But we barely even even know what's
going on with the hockey.
Speaker 3 (09:30):
Once we at I'm like, oh, right, so we barely
even see hockey. Love it and you know the scenes,
like you know, hockey players getting into fights. From now on,
I'm always gonna perceive it in a different way.
Speaker 1 (09:42):
Yep. I'm like, y'all, fucking that's why. Which makes about y'all.
Speaker 3 (09:47):
I went to a hockey game once, like three years ago.
I think it was, yeah, just to cause be so
bad man up in there, just to see what it's about.
Speaker 1 (09:59):
Also like just it was a new experience with my friends.
She's like, let's go. And that year they lost.
Speaker 4 (10:05):
But the next two years, which is the past two years,
the Florida Panthers won, Like the Hockey Cup. I don't
know what it's called.
Speaker 3 (10:13):
Show No, I'm not any of the playoffs or whatever,
any of that, Like the only one that was discernible
for me was the Olympics.
Speaker 1 (10:22):
Right right, No, that's when I've become like extremely American.
Speaker 3 (10:25):
I'm like, yeah, yes, well, you know, especially under the
context of, you know, I feel like we can, you know,
tell people the basis of like this Canadian hockey player
and this Russian hockey player kind of on opposing sides,
and both captains to these opposing teams, so you know,
the dynamics of even just being Russian and gay and
the Olympics taking place in Russia.
Speaker 1 (10:47):
Within the show, it's.
Speaker 4 (10:50):
So risky, like okay, well, first, okay, there's Shane Hollander
and there's Ilia.
Speaker 1 (10:56):
I never hear his first name being said.
Speaker 4 (10:59):
I know, I know it's I know it's Romanov, but
I don't know how to say his first name is
rosan Off.
Speaker 3 (11:05):
No, Romanov is, which is funny, Romanov is freaking Scarlet Johanson,
Natasha Momento.
Speaker 1 (11:11):
I always I do the same thing when I'm talking about.
Speaker 3 (11:16):
I'm like, yeah, Romanov and Hollander, they're like, girl, this
is not the MCU exactly, that's our that's our Marvel
brain kicking in. But yeah, exactly know Rosanoff, but his
first name is Ilia. Anyway, that's all we need to
know exactly. Elia, They're.
Speaker 1 (11:32):
They're both very hot, also very very hot.
Speaker 4 (11:36):
Oh and there is some Asian representation because Hollander is
half Asian. Okay, got the Russian and then they get
like is listen they are checking boxes. They said, oh,
fuck the EI in America. Don't worry, we got it
in Canada. We got you exactly.
Speaker 1 (11:54):
Canada's got you.
Speaker 4 (11:54):
Speaking of this is like a side quest. Another Canadian
show that's actually on Netflix instead is North of North,
which I've become obsessed with, even though I.
Speaker 3 (12:07):
Wanted to check that one out, even on your recommendation
as well.
Speaker 4 (12:11):
Yes, I've gotten like at least three people to watch
it and they said that they love it. It deals
with indigenous people in Canada and it's literally like the
highest point of Canada, and it's so interesting to see
like how they live because they put a part of
the culture as a part of the show. So they
talk about like two spirit people. They talk about like
(12:34):
like they're the things that they eat, the community that
they have in Canada, how small everything is and like
all that good stuff. Like it's a really good cultural
show and that's another Canadian thing.
Speaker 1 (12:45):
It's not on Crave, but the news.
Speaker 4 (12:47):
They're filming season two and they even put out a
casting notice that they're looking for Indigenous people to help
with the show.
Speaker 1 (12:54):
And I'm just like, ten toes.
Speaker 3 (12:56):
Down, that's what I'm talking about, exactly, ten toes down representation.
And you know there's other shows like that, like Welcome
to Darry currently has like a lot of Native representation.
I was telling someone like all twenty of the same actors.
It was like good that they're putting out casting calls
for more actual representation. And another good Canadian produced indigenous
(13:18):
representation show, Resident Alien, unfortunately just ended so everyone can
binge it.
Speaker 1 (13:23):
But it is one of my favorite shows.
Speaker 3 (13:26):
Yes, oh my god, okay, yeah, no by be emailing
me about that.
Speaker 1 (13:30):
Sometimes we just should check it out.
Speaker 3 (13:31):
Oh you all love it, you would love it. Alan
twittic like you know classics. Oh I got gay Face, Yeah,
exactly exactly. It's so funny, Like I know him as
Clay Face and everyone's like, no, that is Ellen tu Dick,
and I'm like, yes, clay Face.
Speaker 5 (13:48):
It's like we all we all have our reference points
for these people.
Speaker 1 (13:53):
Exactly. Okay.
Speaker 4 (13:54):
So also a lot of the conversation, which is I
think obviously I don't want to overstep, just like that's
just not my battle to fight. Is that people were worried,
which I feel like they should be questioning this are
the two main characters at least queer or gay, and
(14:17):
then there's two sides of it. A lot of people
are like, well, it doesn't really matter and we're getting representation.
But then at the same time, for me, I'm not
a part of it, but I do feel like we
have so many gay actors that we can put in
a position to win.
Speaker 1 (14:36):
Why not do that?
Speaker 4 (14:38):
From what I have seen, both Rosenoff and Hollander are queer.
Speaker 1 (14:45):
But I could be wrong.
Speaker 4 (14:47):
I don't know, but yeah, so y'all, I'm with you, Like,
let me know.
Speaker 3 (14:54):
I mean, like from my personal queer perspective, I'm like,
I can see both sides of it where I'm like,
obviously higher queer people to play creer actors also, but
I feel like it can be a slippery slope of
like proving your sexuality, like those sorts of things having
to be like proven in order to get to these
(15:16):
places in this current climate, I think is definitely a
slippery slope, like advantage of and the wrong ways, and
you know, like there have been some great characters brought
to life by like you know, also we don't know
if some of these actors are queer, you know, like
obviously the queers New like Paul Rubins pee Wee Herman
(15:36):
was queer the whole time, but he was never open
openly out the entire life until you know, posthumously.
Speaker 5 (15:44):
So that's the thing too, you never know.
Speaker 3 (15:46):
And you know, even themes within the show with the
older hockey player in the third episode kind of coming
to terms with his sexuality and whether or not to
publicly come out, you know, it's it has nuance to it,
like these things, unfortunately aren't black and white exactly exactly,
and that's why I'm just like I understand the concern,
(16:08):
but I'm glad that we have that representation. And I
I don't know, like maybe what did Suki say, let's
just have a dick, Let's just have a dick sucking content,
which you know, if you want to really just boil
down this show, you can quote Sukiana's contest.
Speaker 1 (16:27):
Boy do they Okay, let's get into it, yeah.
Speaker 3 (16:29):
Episode because we can talk around how good it is
all day.
Speaker 4 (16:33):
Rosen Off me say, Hollander, and they are like on
the hockey, on the rink, in the rink, on the ice, okay,
found it on the ice, and they are just kind
of just like jousing with each other. And the one
who is truly just like flirting is obviously the Russian.
And you know, if you guys have ever met like
(16:53):
a Russian man, like they just flirt NonStop, Like it's
not even that they are gay some of the time,
it's just that that's their personality. Like you'll think that
a man is flirting with the man and that's not
even what they're doing.
Speaker 1 (17:07):
That's just how they talk.
Speaker 3 (17:08):
This yeah, okay, right to the point, like and you know,
he's an American actor who plays the Russian, but he
is he is doing a great job with that like
rigidness but also like flirtiness and his dry humor, like
the way he said even like you will murder me. Also,
(17:28):
I apologize for any bad profession impressions this entire podcast,
Like if anyone watches ninety Day Fiance, to me, he's
just impersonating Andre from ninety Day Fiance, who is from Moldova.
So oh my god, that's so funny. Yeah, but he
(17:48):
absolutely just has that.
Speaker 4 (17:50):
And then Hollander is just kind of like he seems
like the one who's more like timid and he doesn't
really want you know.
Speaker 3 (17:57):
That very much a baby gay Like now their first
like interaction, let's say, just kind of like having furtive
glances across the shower.
Speaker 1 (18:08):
And like, you know, it's like, is is.
Speaker 5 (18:10):
He touching his own dick?
Speaker 1 (18:11):
Well looking at me right and continue or wait is
someone watch it? Like oh, like he's just like trying
to feel it out.
Speaker 3 (18:22):
And then I love the whole thing where they finally
like are just like, yes, we were flirting with each
other and they he's like, oh, what if I come
to your door or something and or what if I
knock or whatever that interaction was. He's like, I'm yeah,
oh my, I'll just.
Speaker 1 (18:41):
Like eate nothing open after a certain time.
Speaker 3 (18:45):
But lens exactly, and sweet baby Hollanders is finding out
how to spread them legs. And I'm seeing in you
know a lot of people who are learning how gay.
Speaker 1 (18:55):
And nolfs works. Yeah, like I did just have mission, yes,
exact things.
Speaker 4 (19:03):
And that's why I keep saying, like, you know, we've
had a lot of gays sex scenes, and I mean,
obviously I haven't saw all of them, but like I'm saying,
this is like do want INU justice?
Speaker 3 (19:16):
And from what I'm hearing from the elder gays is
that like there hasn't been anything really like this since
queer as Folk and like very early two thousands, like
maybe even two thousand and like I'm sure they didn't
get as risque like I said, that probably exkirted on
like L word territory exactly exactly.
Speaker 1 (19:39):
And this is just like straight up getting too late.
Speaker 4 (19:41):
What is a little bit not confusing, but it's it
makes you wrap your head around things. It's like it'll
flash from like June two thousand and nine, and then
it's just like October two thousand.
Speaker 3 (19:55):
And nine, and then it's like, yes, like we're getting
like when they meet what seems around like eighteen nineteen,
freshly into college getting hockey up, until like what seems
around at this point twenty five maybe.
Speaker 1 (20:09):
Yeah, seems like the twenties were, and then.
Speaker 3 (20:15):
Right, and then they are like at that time, like
Instagram's coming around, emails are coming around, like all that stuff. Yeah,
I feel like, like you said, those time stands are
kind of relevant to like what was that?
Speaker 5 (20:28):
Not exactly even more, which served.
Speaker 1 (20:31):
The plot point even more.
Speaker 4 (20:33):
Because this was back then like now we're all, you know,
when we're not even fully out in about A lot
of people were of course hating this on this show,
of course, but like even back then, like imagine back then,
how much more hate, Like you know they would get.
Speaker 3 (20:49):
Only imagine like I was but a baby at the time,
but I know and like a lot of the media
at the time like making gay jokes at the crux
of like comedy exactly like ooh, something goes in a
but oh no, you know, we're just insane in retrospect.
Speaker 1 (21:12):
Yeah for sure. And like they meet up, they meet.
Speaker 3 (21:15):
Up in the hotel, and Rosanov is just rippy to
get it popping' and he gets it popping. He turns
Hollander out baby, and it's just like good as scenes, okay.
And then in between we also see kind of like
what their home life is like. So on one hand,
Hollander is very close to his mom and his parents
(21:37):
in general, and meanwhile Rosenolph he got this brother, and
his brother keeps asking him for money and and just
talking about how mad his dad is at him all
the time, and you know, it seems like that is
very trite.
Speaker 1 (21:51):
I can't I don't we see the dad.
Speaker 3 (21:54):
I can't remember if we see the brother directly at
any point.
Speaker 4 (21:59):
Who is who was that who had the baby? I
think that was wasn't that the mother who had the baby?
Speaker 1 (22:04):
Saw him on the m.
Speaker 4 (22:06):
On the phone asking for more money as usual, and
I'm just like, h ironic, and he's just like, listen,
I can see you some more money, but listen, that's it, Like, yeah,
you sucking me dry, not in a good way.
Speaker 3 (22:21):
And then when we finally do see the dad, it's like,
I can't tell if there's like a touch.
Speaker 1 (22:25):
Of dementia going on there, Like yeah.
Speaker 5 (22:28):
It was kind of alluded to in the scene of
him not remembering that.
Speaker 1 (22:32):
Ilia's mom was dead.
Speaker 3 (22:34):
So I'm like, I, you know, obviously assume we'll get
way more into that relationship as episodes go along, but
I'm definitely interested to see what that is there.
Speaker 1 (22:42):
Yeah, And I'm just like, oh, that's so sad. And
then he has ah.
Speaker 4 (22:48):
There's at one point a game gets canceled and he
goes back home.
Speaker 1 (22:53):
This is rollsing off and talking about and he has a.
Speaker 3 (22:55):
Girl, which also I'm you know, this is just my
limited knowledge of Eastern Europe, and I'm like, I wasn't
expecting a black Russian girl.
Speaker 5 (23:06):
You know. I was like, okay, I'm here for it.
Speaker 1 (23:09):
I did not know.
Speaker 3 (23:11):
I was like, of course her name was Swetlana, which
you know, from an acting perspective, I imagine that was
just written into the script. And then he's does obviously
the perfect choice for it. But I'm like, love it, yeah, exactly.
But he has like a whole lost girlfriend and I'm
like hmmm mm hmm. Yeah, so I'm like interested. I'm like,
are you you know, because he could to speed by,
(23:32):
which is exactly but he's definitely at least in love
with Shane, if that's the case exactly. But I just
don't think that he is by. I think he's just
doing that because he's in Russia, you know what I mean, Like.
Speaker 5 (23:45):
You said, it's just that Russian suaveness.
Speaker 3 (23:47):
I think he's kind of just like you know, I
can I used to or you know, there's a the
whole scene of him with his old friend that he
used to hunt and he's trying to kind of like
hit on him in the room adjacent to like every
other like Russian parent and like important person around hockey.
Speaker 1 (24:08):
Yeah yeah, and I'm like I don't like this. I
don't like this will be this man is dangerous.
Speaker 3 (24:12):
Like doing rails of cocaine and trying to hit on
our boy Ilia like I was an habitant Michel, go on,
go somewhere else with that, Like I need this same energy.
I'm glad he gave him that exact same energy exactly.
Speaker 1 (24:27):
He was not feeling it.
Speaker 3 (24:29):
And then Hollander is just kind of like living his
life and just getting more famous. They have like an
award show and Hollander gets the award and there I
love their little like fake emmy like yes, like rapport
with each other, like couldn't we take a selfie? This
is probably the only tide like very stilted, Like the
(24:50):
actors do such a good job of being athletes, like
you know, like they act like athletes in such a
way that it's like they are doing the perfect like
if athletes.
Speaker 1 (25:04):
Were to do this very stilted award speech.
Speaker 4 (25:07):
Yeah, like every every every year at the Spies, there's
always like this awkward exchange between athletes, and they could
do it very well because they're both actors. But no,
they're acting as athletes that are trying to act.
Speaker 3 (25:22):
I'm like, truly, this is like hat on a hat
on a hat and I'm here.
Speaker 4 (25:27):
And it's perfect, and like they do the selfie and
then itels smooth us. He literally puts that hand.
Speaker 1 (25:35):
Oh damn, Ben like cups that little butt. Hockey.
Speaker 3 (25:42):
But because you said, a reason to go see hockey
is just to see some butt. Same with baseball, some
boots and some men fighting, which is hot. And like
we said, you know the now, every time I see
a hockey fight, I'm gonna ask you. Because one of
them said some slick shit to the other about their boyfriend.
Speaker 1 (26:00):
Exactly exactly. It's so good, it's it's so good. Oh
my god. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (26:05):
So they have like the award show, and then there
is some jealousness on Rosanov in because Hollander you know,
takes the cake or whatever. And then they also like
it's like two times that he like wins over him
or whatever, like he wins Ricky and then he wins like.
Speaker 1 (26:23):
MVP or something because the time goes by or whatever.
So then Rosanov is acting like an asshole, an asshole basically,
and then.
Speaker 4 (26:32):
They go to the top of like the roof and
things are like just tense when you think of that scene.
Speaker 3 (26:40):
I love, I mean, I just love those like isolated
scenes they get like anytime they're like someone could catch us,
and like they have that kind of like back and
forth pull like it's again, it's like if even if
those actors aren't queer, they do such a good job
of like presenting the very like real romance you know,
(27:03):
and like real tension that would be present in like
a first queer relationship and like trying to hide it,
and especially like the added layers of them being like
you know, public figures, so any of those like isolated
scenes that they get, and like they add on to
that like sexual tension of like like why.
Speaker 1 (27:24):
Don't you get on your knees on the floor and
soap my dick? Correct now it's like oh okay.
Speaker 3 (27:30):
Heause like, well say please, and I'm like.
Speaker 1 (27:34):
Oh oh no, it's like it's going down.
Speaker 4 (27:38):
It's just so good, Like if the stolen glances the
innocence of like the first like real gay relationship. It's
like also just like putting lank backstory, you know, like
what's going on? And then okay, let's enter hunter Shane
is the name thing. Yeah right, shah okay.
Speaker 1 (28:00):
Scott Scott. It's so funny.
Speaker 3 (28:02):
In my notes, I had to cross it out because
I also wrote I was like, Sean.
Speaker 4 (28:08):
God, listen, I just know I know everyone's last name.
I don't know their first name because they go in hockey.
So Hunter Scott, Hunter, thank you. He is one of
the basically gay elders, and he clocks Hollander because he
sees the tension between Hollander and Rosanof and he's like,
(28:29):
oh yeah, boy, and then Hollander is like, what do
you mean, my buddy?
Speaker 1 (28:33):
Like he just got like like what are you talking
about right now?
Speaker 5 (28:36):
You're starting to sound like mmm, and it's crazy.
Speaker 3 (28:41):
So like meanwhile I thought I got mad at him.
I'm like, shut up.
Speaker 1 (28:45):
Like on episode initially, I was like yeah, like so
trying to clock him and stop me.
Speaker 3 (28:50):
I'm like, this is the homophobic character that's it's going
to be trying to like I don't know, it's money
out of him.
Speaker 1 (28:55):
Like I literally put a whole us like big.
Speaker 3 (28:58):
I was affecting him to like sploit him, because he's
like dells, he's the young buck coming up like his bag.
Speaker 5 (29:06):
And then you know the next a classic tweet.
Speaker 1 (29:12):
The next episode, home Boy.
Speaker 4 (29:17):
Meets someone at a smoothie shop, the gayest place we
can meet someone, the gayest place you can meet Yeah,
I guess if you want to find a queer partner,
go to a smoothie shop, a smoothie shop, or a
coffee shop, but like not a chain coffee shop.
Speaker 3 (29:30):
Yeah really, no Starbucks. No Starbucks in this house exactly,
And like he's just like, oh, they're just talking about it, smoothie.
Speaker 4 (29:39):
And then finally I'm just like, I don't want to
see myself in this series because it's not for like,
it's not for me, like it's given the gays what
they need. But then boom, Elena enters and she just
just just the amount of girlfriend in the background.
Speaker 1 (29:55):
So she goes girl, and I know that I hit
that girl.
Speaker 3 (30:00):
The conversation of this girl back and forth, and we
knew exactly what the fuck they were talking about. His
mother fucking good Judy okay, judy over here friend was
like I was like, oh, ab so fucking lutely like
it was just it was just like such a because
(30:22):
I hate when they try to, you know, make it
about someone else or like you know, include the.
Speaker 4 (30:29):
Friends too much or includes too much of the It's
like just enough of the characters. Like this is not
about you, but you are definitely a part of their life.
Speaker 1 (30:39):
And we're gonna put like the right amount part of you.
Speaker 4 (30:41):
So it's Kip that works at the smoothie shop and
I don't know about you.
Speaker 3 (30:46):
I want you to tell me. Did you know that
Kip was short for Christopher? No that I would have
never guessed the Kip was I Now that you say it,
I'm like, I don't know why. I always assumed Kip
was a full name, but I just assumed k I
P P.
Speaker 5 (31:03):
That's your name. Yeah, Christmas never crossed my I.
Speaker 3 (31:09):
Mean you know what Bill and William like, where'd Bee
come from? Well?
Speaker 1 (31:15):
And then like I blew.
Speaker 3 (31:17):
I remember it was years ago when I was working
at the dip with me and like my friends, well,
Bravo Historian which is Sam she used to work there, Alison,
who you guys have heard on here? Like I was
telling my friends there and I don't know if it
was them or like our bosses who were really cool
with shout out to Kate and Lindsay love y'all changed
my life. I was like Liam is also short for William,
(31:41):
and they were like what what what?
Speaker 4 (31:47):
Yeah, so a lot of the Liams that you know
their names are actually will Lea that you're.
Speaker 5 (31:56):
Flowing my mind. I'm like these white people names.
Speaker 3 (32:00):
Like meanwhile, they can barely grasp my name having two
ways at the front, like.
Speaker 1 (32:05):
And they're just making shut up like.
Speaker 4 (32:07):
What like exactly, it's like what you just split in
names in half? Like you could be will Liam, but
you can also be built Like what are you talking about?
Speaker 3 (32:17):
At least with like Richard it's Rick. I never understood
how you got from Richard, but whatever, you know what,
clearly we are here for Dix in this in this
heated rivalry exactly, that's what we are here for.
Speaker 1 (32:32):
So we need a will to come along. Like Yip
is a smoothie shop maker.
Speaker 4 (32:36):
He doesn't think that Hunter is actually like into him
like that, but then Elena is like girl and then
he's like okay, he's coming back and he gets a smoothie.
And then one time he's just like with extra banana
and I'm like, okay, here we go.
Speaker 1 (32:54):
Hunter.
Speaker 4 (32:55):
I don't like what you did at the end, but
I understand because you're not read. Yeah, but you are
not the evil person that I thought you were going
to be. It turns out you want you do just
one of the girls.
Speaker 3 (33:07):
And I later this you just have your own internal
homophobia from growing up in the era that he did,
you know, because he exactly I don't really know hockey
player he does. I do know that they play a
little bit later into life. I feel like then a
lot of sports. Yeah, Like I feel like he seems
generally maybe like late thirties, early forties, so not old,
(33:29):
older than these guys who are coming in, you know,
nineteen to twenty five, So you know, it is I,
like I said, this probably was my favorite episode, just.
Speaker 5 (33:39):
Seeing Kip and him like slowly build their bond and
then you know, kind of like heal small things in
each other over like such a short amount of time.
Speaker 3 (33:54):
And like you said, there's unfortunately, like the duality to
it of like his internal homophobia wanting him not to
come out and keeping Kip a secret, and you know,
Kip kind of feeling like he might not be good
enough for this whole experience. So that just adds on
to like how hurtful it is to be a secret
(34:15):
exactly exactly.
Speaker 4 (34:17):
And I do I do think though, that they did
it in a better way than I was expecting them
to do it, because like he brings them over to
his house.
Speaker 1 (34:31):
He is basically like.
Speaker 3 (34:32):
Living there, you know, like yeah, and he kind of
lays it out for him, you know, like mm hm, hey,
this is what it is.
Speaker 1 (34:40):
This is where I'm at.
Speaker 3 (34:41):
I really like you. I really like you to be
at my house. I would like for you to be
at my house when I got out of practice. I
would like for you to be.
Speaker 1 (34:48):
At my house when I finished my game. Like I
love that. Yeah, there is like a bit of like
background data.
Speaker 3 (34:54):
He's like an orphan, you know, he was orphan young,
so like from my orphan respective and I'm like, oh,
I can see how that like you know, like small
care and like domesticity of like Kip making him smoothies
and making him breakfast and like, you know, just the
ball acts of care, like clearly like.
Speaker 4 (35:13):
He's missing that, like and now he's getting that, and
he is starting to get comfortable. But then he feels
like he gets a little bit basically well, okay, obviously
you guys they fucking down basically, and then Kip is
also he is studying.
Speaker 3 (35:30):
I don't know, is it to be a doctor or
something something. He's applying for grad school. We know grad school.
So he is pretty much like okay. I think he
also had like a birthday right, and he's heared like
twenty six.
Speaker 1 (35:44):
Yeah, I was.
Speaker 5 (35:45):
I was a little bit surprised to be like, oh,
twenty six.
Speaker 1 (35:47):
I get the end.
Speaker 3 (35:49):
I don't want to mention Kip has just one of
the sweetest, most supportive TV gay dads. I've ever seen
our dad, you know, to a queer child that I've
like the his dad has written. So he's so sweet,
and I'm like, we must protect this man at all
costs exactly.
Speaker 4 (36:06):
Literally, he like leaves and all that happens. And then
they try to like have their like excursion where they
kind of like go out together to buy some artwork
and Hunter is just like, no, I want to do this,
And when they actually get there, he just gets way
too nervous and he's like, I can't do this, and
(36:27):
I'm just like no, like screaming at the TV, and
I'm like crying something throwing up, and I like, you
were so close, like so close to happy.
Speaker 3 (36:39):
You both could have happiness exactly, And I don't know why,
but that scene almost gave me like classic sex in
the city, like yep, oh, you know, like wanting to
like buy this art and like together and like you know,
him having the glasses trying to be like.
Speaker 1 (36:56):
That was his mister Big. I feel it really was.
That was his mister Big.
Speaker 3 (37:01):
And you know, even the way their sex scenes are written,
like as if there each other's soul neates, like him
sticking kip up like in this right. Also one thing,
just as a side note, I will mention, with all
this gay sex, I very much appreciate that they show
lube and condoms realistic, realistic, Like.
Speaker 5 (37:20):
They're not just like sticking it in dry like that's crazy.
Speaker 1 (37:24):
It's great, Like it really is. That's what I always
noticed when I'm just like it's a show. It's a show.
It's a shows, a show suspendous belief.
Speaker 3 (37:32):
But you know, I mean everyone should be on crap regardless,
but I appreciate that they show that and like it
is an act of care, you know exactly.
Speaker 1 (37:40):
It's so good.
Speaker 3 (37:41):
It's so many different forms of like representation, and like
like you said, he has a kid, has a supportive dad.
He also has a great like friend, like a chosen
family exactly, Like you know, his friends are like, oh,
you're dating a celebrity, Like we're all here for this,
like we're gonna make our whole life about this.
Speaker 1 (38:01):
Love it exactly. And basically they get back to together
and then they are going to I don't know what.
Speaker 4 (38:11):
Event that was, but Elena was there and she's like, listen,
I like you, but that's my friend and you do
not need to, you know, like, don't hurt him, basically.
Speaker 1 (38:26):
And you have to.
Speaker 3 (38:27):
And I know that, Like a lot of people feel
like she overstepped, and I feel like maybe I would
overstep because I just don't.
Speaker 1 (38:34):
Hurt my friend, like I think, celebrity. You're a older man.
Speaker 4 (38:38):
I have never seen him this way before, so this
would literally destroy him, So please not destroy him. So
she steps in and she's like, dance with me, and
I always love that. So he dances with her, and
because that's safe, obviously dance with the girl.
Speaker 1 (38:53):
I can't see.
Speaker 3 (38:54):
One of the most beautiful I think South Asian women
I've ever seen. You know, she needs the black or
South Asian either way, but she got some flavor to her.
I think I also think South Asian, and you know,
everyone is just like oh, he's dancing with this beautiful woman.
Speaker 1 (39:09):
Like meanwhile, the beautiful woman is like dark like.
Speaker 3 (39:13):
And like you said I initially when she started talking,
I was like, oh, we're seving a little girl. But
then by the end of it her saying like he
deserves sunshine and so do you. I was like, like
both of you guys, it's just like, yes, it cannot
be more well written if they tried. Yeah, that in
(39:34):
the banana socks, which is one thing to mention, I
was like him saying like you can have my smoothies,
my good luck tern with you at all times, and
you know, showing that Humsterair was wearing the socks at
all of his games, even you know, after they kind
of realized that they couldn't be together. At that moment,
Oh my god, I guess at the end they show
(39:56):
the banana socks, and I almost I was like, do
these characters get back together for my mental health?
Speaker 1 (40:06):
And I just don't think that they do.
Speaker 3 (40:08):
I think that was like a one and done episode
and I don't want to look it up. Yeah, Like
I was trying to like go into threads without getting
any book spoilers, yeah, because you know, these like book
heads I don't blame them. If my one of my
favorite book series, you know, got turned into an adaption this, well,
I'm sure i'd be going off just as hard. But
(40:30):
I do avoid because I want them to be get together,
but I don't want any The only thing I've seen
is at some point we're gonna love seeing them in
a cottage. Don't know what it means, but sounds like
we're all gonna love it.
Speaker 1 (40:41):
I didn't hear that.
Speaker 4 (40:44):
But as you speak of favorite book series being turned
into a TV show, you.
Speaker 3 (40:50):
Guys, there's a new Dive but when the kid, I'm screaming,
but not no, there's a new Diving.
Speaker 1 (41:00):
Woopy Kid on Disney Plus.
Speaker 4 (41:03):
Like I love Diving woo Kid, and I like, okay,
the live action one obviously the first live action one.
Speaker 1 (41:10):
First, Oh.
Speaker 3 (41:14):
He's still fine, Like Rogerick, if you see this, like
that is one of my favorite book series. And people
are always like, okay, like give me a real one,
and I'm like, that is a real one, And that's
my answer. Every book was a hit, and I'm just
like when they did the live action, then they turned
(41:36):
it into like a little cartoon on Disney Channel.
Speaker 1 (41:38):
They had one I.
Speaker 3 (41:39):
Think it was like either last year or the one
before last year, which was a Christmas special one, and
I'm like, okay, and then they have one now.
Speaker 1 (41:47):
For I don't know if it's the last straw.
Speaker 4 (41:49):
I think it is the last straw, and like it's
on Disney Channel, so that's.
Speaker 1 (41:55):
Happened to that it happened. I love the recommendation. Tell
them I sent you.
Speaker 3 (42:01):
If only Disney could give you a kick, you a
little money for that, or at least just give me
the screener, like that's the bare minimum.
Speaker 1 (42:09):
Fear minimal.
Speaker 3 (42:12):
There's obviously raining screeners on you tv H. I know
we lightly, you know, we key with James gun on
the threads.
Speaker 1 (42:20):
He needs stuff. Listen. I'm here, like.
Speaker 3 (42:24):
I understand that I'm not like the breakdown channels and
you know what, I may call a DC character an
MCU character, but I'm here.
Speaker 1 (42:35):
We're all human. We're all human.
Speaker 3 (42:37):
I feel like you don't need to do anything, but
we want you know, I personally would like you, KAI
would personally like you to do things like doing it.
Speaker 5 (42:46):
Also just keep giving us the good content exactly.
Speaker 1 (42:49):
I also feel like you should want someone who's viewing
things from just like a viewer perspective, not someone who
is going to be because when people come from book prospective
comic perspective.
Speaker 3 (43:02):
They're like, this is not what was supposed to happen.
It's not what they look like is what they just like,
this is not how it sounds.
Speaker 4 (43:08):
I think that you should want the perspective also of
someone who's just coming in as a viewer, who's one
to have.
Speaker 3 (43:15):
A good time, completely objective, Like, I think we definitely
need like objective perspective that's on these things because even
like one of my favorite adaptions would probably be like Watchmen,
but then also you know, like the HBO series, which
I loved way better than the movie, which it's mostly
true to the text, like was just kind of inferred
(43:36):
from a lot of things in the comics like that
wasn't anything directly written, and it was one of my favorite.
Speaker 1 (43:41):
Pieces, you know, in history.
Speaker 3 (43:44):
I love I love Regina King and anything, especially in Watchmen.
Speaker 4 (43:48):
Oh my god, what a woman shout out to Kendrick
who has tattoo. Yeah, and I always call it Regina
King tattoo instead of sister night Tonight tattoo. Listen, that's
both equally. It's iconic, it's amazing tattoo, you guys. Especially
when he got touched up.
Speaker 3 (44:08):
It was just like, oh and then he got storm
and the storm touched up very very good tattoos.
Speaker 1 (44:15):
Ken next got exactly.
Speaker 4 (44:18):
But yeah, so it ends they are not together, and
I'm honestly pulled away from the main storyline a little bit.
Speaker 1 (44:26):
Sorry, Like we.
Speaker 3 (44:29):
Wasted a whole episode on it, and I'm like, I
could watch just their story the rest of the you know,
we could have wrapped like Ilia up and Shane right where.
Speaker 5 (44:37):
Was I'd be happy because it.
Speaker 4 (44:40):
Just seems like they're just they're never getting together, Like
they just skipping back and forth month of the month,
year after year, Like what are we even talking about here? Meanwhile,
in one episode, he moved this dude in like they do.
Speaker 1 (44:53):
Hauled it like they acted like lesbians.
Speaker 3 (44:57):
It was so good and like I I'm like literally
came into the series on a Thursday, like you said,
basically at midnight, and now I got to wait a
whole week for the next episode.
Speaker 1 (45:09):
Right, well, welcome, welcome to the fandom. I'm in.
Speaker 3 (45:13):
I'm all the way in like each other's dicks in
their body holes, and I.
Speaker 4 (45:19):
Want these other shows to learn from this Ala Tira like, Ram.
Speaker 1 (45:26):
This is how I do a gay show. Wow.
Speaker 3 (45:34):
Yeah, So any other thoughts before I tell you guys, well,
I'm not going to completely review All Her Fault because
a lot of you guys have not seen it yet,
but I do just want to easily touch on it.
And also, Ryan Bailey said that I ruined the show
for him by posting a TikTok.
Speaker 1 (45:56):
But it's so funny because I didn't ruin this show.
Speaker 3 (45:58):
So on Ryan Bailey exactly keep him on his toes,
exactly on the beat, so you gott keep him on
his toes.
Speaker 4 (46:08):
And he finally finished it and he was like, what
the fuck is this? Because it's okay All Her Fault.
The reason that I'm even watching it.
Speaker 3 (46:17):
Is because one j Lis is in it, and even
though I don't like him from Insecure, I mean, we're
always gonna feel a way about Lawrence, That's okay.
Speaker 4 (46:28):
Me and Raven just talked about how we were like
we did not want her with Lawrence, and we're watching
the Vampire Diaries and Nathan is in the Vampire Diaries, so.
Speaker 1 (46:39):
That's how that subject keep came up. So Jlis is.
Speaker 4 (46:43):
In it, and then y'all know, I had a whole
spin off show for Succession called suck Pod and and
Shive Roy is just the baddest bitch on the planet
if you guys watch sc session and you know that.
So when I saw her and Jay Ellis and then
(47:05):
Dakota Fanning, who we grew up together, like she's the
same age as me, I believe it's.
Speaker 5 (47:13):
So all of us, the code and the rest of
us exactly.
Speaker 1 (47:18):
And then they were doing like press for it.
Speaker 4 (47:20):
And then also I wasn't into the whole white woman,
rich white woman murder mystery show kind of like thing.
But then recently I got into it where I just
was just watching him. I was just throwing them back
like I went through them. And then I got to
big Little Eyes for the second time and I stopped
because I'm like, I can't get into big.
Speaker 5 (47:40):
Lie yeah s, John, I don't know how it's the
same after a while.
Speaker 3 (47:43):
And that's that's initially what I assumed about all her
fault too, until I started hearing people being like, no,
you know, no one told me really many details, but
still made it sound like you gotta watch this.
Speaker 4 (47:55):
Even when you know the details, you will not figure
out the end, like it doesn't get swammed you unless
someone directly says but here is the actual spoiler. I
can tell you like the end, and it still won't
be the spoiler. Okay, So it's about this woman who
(48:18):
is married to a man, and that is always scary, but.
Speaker 3 (48:23):
She is like the two sentence horror story.
Speaker 1 (48:28):
Like she comes home and she's like she asked her babysitter.
Speaker 4 (48:32):
She's like, where's my son, and the babysitters like, uh,
your son is literally with the other babysitter, Like he
told me to, you know, drop him off, and she's like, no,
the fuck I didn't.
Speaker 1 (48:44):
And basically, bitch, her son is gone, gone and the
money watches my friend's kids.
Speaker 5 (48:53):
I'm like, actual worst exactly.
Speaker 3 (48:56):
He's the nanny, Like she's the nanny, Like that is
your job? Oh yeah, yeah, that's literally like that the
best right there.
Speaker 1 (49:05):
I'm gone, yup.
Speaker 4 (49:08):
And so then we find out that the uh it's
Dakota Fannings nanny is the one who basically took the kid,
and they're trying to figure out why she took the kid.
Speaker 1 (49:22):
Number one, where she is and like what did they
have to do to get her back?
Speaker 4 (49:28):
So they you know, they're rich, So they do all
the steps, they have a press conference, they offer a reward,
and like all the shit goes on, and it's it's
really slow. The first like four episodes. I'd say it's
best for me personally because I just don't really care
about that genre. Like everyone is just like, oh my god,
this is crazy because it came out literally, I think
(49:50):
way before, like two weeks before Things Giving, I think
it came out. So yeah, I'm like, I'm actually like
three weeks late because I saw people when I was
at Bravo Con that's when they were finishing it, and
they're it was trending like every single day, like around
November like seventeenth or whatever.
Speaker 3 (50:06):
They're like, I just want to all her phone and
it was crazy and I'm like, don't spoil it for me.
And it's like even everything that I read, it still
wasn't spoiled for me. So I'm like, you know what,
let me get back to that because I watched like
four episodes with my mom.
Speaker 4 (50:20):
Then I waited for my mom to come back so
we can watch it together, and then we watched it
the Baby comes back. But you you think that that
I just spoiled that for you that is now, I'm
not like, that's not even crazy and.
Speaker 1 (50:36):
Like that's not even what I said.
Speaker 3 (50:38):
Like, so the ticks out that I put up was
his name is Jake Lacy, and I know his name
now because he is in a lot of fun shit.
Speaker 1 (50:48):
He's in the White Lotus. Oh is that that guy?
You know? You got that guy that you never really know? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (50:55):
Yeah, the white guy always plays like a like an asshole,
like kind of dick guy.
Speaker 1 (51:00):
Yeah, I think it was set. Yeah, second season of
White Lotus, right, yep, White Lotus.
Speaker 4 (51:05):
And then he is also in a Friend and Family.
He is in like a couple of like weird ass
shows where he is a disturbing guy and he's like a.
Speaker 1 (51:19):
Good guy exactly.
Speaker 4 (51:22):
And then he's also in which I feel like I
know that I keep singing this and I have no power,
but me and Zoe Kravits want the same thing.
Speaker 3 (51:32):
Bring Back High Fidelity on Hulu. That one season.
Speaker 1 (51:38):
Started like my.
Speaker 4 (51:41):
Bisexual awakening, Like I was just like I need to
go back to my ex's and see what's up with me?
Speaker 3 (51:47):
Is it me?
Speaker 1 (51:48):
Am? I? The problem?
Speaker 4 (51:49):
Like it came out during like pandemic problem pandemic problem time,
So just in general though, like it had the best soundtrack.
It was Zoe Kravit owning a damn record shop, top
tier cast.
Speaker 1 (52:05):
He played the boyfriend on there. He was Oh he
was okay on there? Yeah he was all right.
Speaker 3 (52:11):
I mean that's like, you know how like the cool
girls know that Glenn Powell was screen queen exactly.
Speaker 5 (52:16):
I forget.
Speaker 3 (52:17):
It's one of those where it's like, oh, yeah, I
saw him in you know where. He wasn't like, uh,
you know jock Man. Well he was, but he was
just like different regularly. Yeah, Like it was like the
joke was like, oh he's like from or he lives
in Burg or something. Right.
Speaker 4 (52:33):
He was just a himpo, just a hymbo. He wasn't
just a huge action star. Okay, it was just glim
Powell and screams. But yeah, he was in high fidelity
as Zoe's like boyfriend and I'm like, hell, yeah, I
can't leave. For season two they canceled it. Zoe was
pissed as fuck. He also was pissed as fuck, and
I'm just like, bring back high fidelity.
Speaker 5 (52:54):
That's true, but also we maybe would have never got
linked twice, which I feel like for her directorial debut
was pretty dang great. Not the perfect movie, but I
was like, dang girl, but the first one, you really.
Speaker 1 (53:05):
Knocked it out the park. ZOI was sitting at the
parties collecting notes and.
Speaker 3 (53:11):
Was because you know, like I've been modeling and acting
for most of my life and I'm boys they got
one eye open for Selena the way.
Speaker 1 (53:20):
That, oh my god, does have to watch Blink twice.
I saw it like when I was like on a date,
and then I saw it.
Speaker 4 (53:25):
At home when it came home the way that it
came out during the whole Diddy like baby oil debacle.
Speaker 3 (53:34):
Yeah, and you know that documentary is another thing I
might have to hop into because I've heard people will
be like, I.
Speaker 5 (53:41):
Don't know how did he let all this? But it
just slip out of his hands.
Speaker 3 (53:44):
But and we know fifty cents petty as hell, like
problematic as hell and petty as hell.
Speaker 1 (53:50):
Both and that's the worst combination. Sagittarius from one show
he used a cancer.
Speaker 3 (53:59):
A male can Yeah, that that art. And they say
women cancers are emotional cancers. I love my little cry
cry babies from like a stone cold sad. I love
my cancers. But it's also like Arianna is a cancer
and yeah, don't let them tears fleech.
Speaker 1 (54:19):
You'll take you will take your man.
Speaker 5 (54:22):
Also some of the baddest bitches I know exactly.
Speaker 1 (54:24):
Exactly, Oh god.
Speaker 4 (54:26):
But yeah, so yeah, that is good, a good point
link twice. And then also she went on to be Catwoman,
which was after that too. But then I just got
the news that she won't be in The Batman too,
and I'm pissed off about that.
Speaker 5 (54:42):
Hopefully she's busy doing something really cool.
Speaker 1 (54:45):
Yeah, hopefully that. And then also I'm hearing early talks
that there may be Penguin season two, and if they
start from where pining Win season one left off, she
was sisters character. So like, even if she doesn't come
back and The Batman too, I'm gonna need her to
(55:08):
go and find about her assist the Penguino.
Speaker 3 (55:11):
We're gonna need her and I anymore. Krista Malatti, I
can get anywhere at all times.
Speaker 4 (55:17):
Fun fact, she auditioned to be Alpha BA and she
sucked up her audition and I'm like, that's fine, because
you were meant to.
Speaker 5 (55:23):
Yeah, the Pino exactly.
Speaker 3 (55:26):
Also, you know, as someone who grew up doing theater
and grew up with Wicked being my favorite ever and
unfortunately now the press cycle is so oppressive.
Speaker 1 (55:36):
I never want to hear it again.
Speaker 3 (55:37):
But I'm like, some would have been a great Alphabe,
you know, I think it went it went too on purpose, both.
Speaker 4 (55:43):
Of them, Glinda and Alphaba. I could not see anyone
else especially, It's like, yeah, and then I like y'all,
y'all know everyone. The fun thing about me is I'm
always gonna tell y'all that I love Mama Mia and
I know that Amanda seiphried she to be Linda, But
I'm sorry, baby, I know you can sing and you
(56:05):
can't sang down like that, but you can't sing like
that now.
Speaker 1 (56:09):
And again, as I get your theater queer, my standards.
Speaker 4 (56:12):
Are exactly exactly as it should. Yeah, but all her fault. Yeah,
the kid comes back, But then there are still multiple
mysteries that have to be solved, and I will leave.
Speaker 1 (56:27):
It at that.
Speaker 4 (56:28):
And Jake Lacey, I don't even give a fuck about
what his name is on the show.
Speaker 1 (56:34):
Jake Lazy. You know, call you by your given name,
but you're going you're Jake Lazy.
Speaker 4 (56:40):
Jake Lacy, you are deeply disturbing and I don't know
how you did what you did and that was crazy,
and that's like all I will leave you guys with.
And it's just so beautifully like acted, especially like at
the end, like Shiv has to get down to business
is about her son, and it's crazy and it's a turn,
(57:05):
a twist after a turn, after a twist after a turn,
and the nanny has a backstory, and everyone has a backstory,
and jay Ellis has a backstory, and you're also suspicious
of everyone who is in the house because when they're
trying to figure out like, oh, how did this person,
you know, how did nanny find out you know anything
(57:25):
about my child before nanny for me? And the cop
is like, well, you guys went here right on this date,
so who else was there? And then she looks at
everyone in the room and she's like, you don't get it.
It was only us five And I'm just like, so
it's someone in the room that set up this baby
(57:46):
to be taken And it's like.
Speaker 1 (57:47):
Is that what happens?
Speaker 3 (57:48):
It's more likely, you know, given on real life statistics,
it's way more likely it's.
Speaker 1 (57:52):
Someone you know, the devil, you know, the devil, you
know y'all watch all her fault.
Speaker 4 (58:01):
Mm hm, watch your Rivalry and just tell me exactly
what the fuck you guys think about it.
Speaker 1 (58:09):
And I can't wait for you to start. It's just
eight episodes.
Speaker 5 (58:12):
It's literally caught up on everything.
Speaker 3 (58:15):
So now I gotta, you know, wait week to week
for my appointment shows, but I gotta start all her
Fall and then my only other recommendation to you, as
supposed to the people listening, is a.
Speaker 4 (58:25):
Tell me about therapist, tell me about like the elevator
pitch two.
Speaker 3 (58:29):
Okay, yeah, it's very it's very easy. I think there's
only five episodes, six episodes out right now. It's a
it's a Vin Skill Again joint, you know X files,
Breaking Bad and Rhea se Horne of Breaking Bad is
the main character. And it is essentially that just one
night out of nowhere, almost every human on Earth becomes
(58:50):
part of a singularity via like a strange virus. So
everyone except for twelve people on Earth is all now
part of one hive mind and it rotates around this woman, Carol.
Speaker 5 (59:04):
Who is immune to the hive mind. So it's you know,
very freaky of being like, we're here for you, Carol,
we all want to make you happy.
Speaker 3 (59:14):
Carol, we're all gonna find out how to make you
part of us, Carol, and you know kind of just
goes wacky doodles highing from there.
Speaker 1 (59:24):
Oh oh my god. That's my biggest fear is just like.
Speaker 3 (59:29):
So again, some people on the internet seem to hate Carol,
but it's just sweet Carol. People would hate me too
because I would be reacting the same way.
Speaker 1 (59:38):
Because what the fuck is going on?
Speaker 5 (59:40):
Because what the fuck is going on? What do you mean?
Speaker 3 (59:48):
And you know, just seeing you know, the way the
different twelve people react to either like wanting to be
a part of it or being against like being part
of the singularity, or like how some people like you know,
abuse people basically being like quote unquote NPCs even though.
Speaker 1 (01:00:04):
That's you know, a.
Speaker 3 (01:00:05):
Dog whistle, right, you know whatever, But yeah, like how
you know people might use people when they don't see
them as like singular people anymore. Oh yeah, you know,
we know Van Skieligan does his thing like yeah, he
gave us different X files like mysteries every week, so he's.
Speaker 5 (01:00:25):
Killing it over there on the Apple TV.
Speaker 4 (01:00:28):
And one thing about Apple TV, they will drop the
best show you've ever seen in your.
Speaker 3 (01:00:31):
Life that I talk about it advertise out all. They're
just like we want bangers over here.
Speaker 4 (01:00:36):
But exactly, you know what, I just finished this season
of Loot and you guys are not giving Maya Rudolph
her flowers. Like this woman is hilarious. Please watch Loot.
The season's finale just happened. I would say this season
wasn't as good as like the last few seasons, but
it's because I think it's this is like.
Speaker 1 (01:00:57):
The fourth season I believe.
Speaker 3 (01:01:00):
So literally in that they're kind of in that like
that is another one I need to check out. I
just you know, it's so funny and I'm just gonna
let it rock so I can watch all my shows
I haven't caught up on exactly.
Speaker 4 (01:01:12):
It's so good. My Rudolph is hilarious obviously joke him Booster,
Oh yes, he's a cameo in the first episode of Civis.
Speaker 3 (01:01:21):
Actually it's like, you know, it's like kind of like
you people, that's him, like not yeah, it's not like
a big but you're.
Speaker 5 (01:01:26):
Just like, Booster, what the hell.
Speaker 1 (01:01:30):
What are you doing?
Speaker 3 (01:01:31):
So yeah, think of that like if everyone is everyone,
like there's some really random cameos like in Pluribus, because.
Speaker 1 (01:01:39):
You could you could be anybody. You could be John Cena.
You know you can see him. I don't know. It
was just a bluter. I heard his voice though he
was to us, but didn't see him.
Speaker 3 (01:01:56):
Oh my god. Exactly, that's so funny. Like I just
will never like they won't let that joke ride. This
man is peacemaker. At this point, they're still like we
can't see him, Like you can see this, see the helmet,
the peacemaker helmet. I should see the emotion, but I
can't see John Cina.
Speaker 1 (01:02:13):
Eat what was this floating helmet doing? It's an all
beautiful Jennifer Holland exactly.
Speaker 3 (01:02:21):
Oh man, it has been such a joy having you
join me for a measure. Miss I will say our
pod Miss wish for you guys is to watch heated rivalry,
watch all her Fault, and watch plerabus mm hmm. And
yesterday we exertness Christmas wishes.
Speaker 1 (01:02:43):
Those are your cartridges in a pear tree from.
Speaker 3 (01:02:45):
Exactly exactly yesterday was the Jonas Brothers Christmas movie for
and that shit was cinema that should start in a.
Speaker 1 (01:02:56):
Fucking criteria channel.
Speaker 4 (01:02:59):
That that was literally the second closest thing. I just
don't have the time to do it. But I did
actually start a letterbox pro a file. That's how good
the Jonah's Brother's Christmas movie was. And I'm inviting everyone,
including you, please start a letterbox.
Speaker 1 (01:03:22):
I love.
Speaker 5 (01:03:24):
People don't need to know what I think about movies,
but why not?
Speaker 4 (01:03:27):
No they do because I feel like every time they
ask and this is a huge thing that like, I
can't wait to tell letterbox if I ever get to
talk to them. Every time they ask someone and it's
not their fault, but every time they ask someone that
is not a person of color, what they're top four is,
it is they never put.
Speaker 3 (01:03:47):
A black movie as their top four. It's always like,
of course, okay, I can give you, okay, Godfather short,
but you have three other slots. Then someone has to
be like, you know, high for Lutin and put some
kind of like you know, foreign film.
Speaker 4 (01:04:07):
It never someone has ever heard of exactly. But then
you have two other slots, like there's no way that
you can tell me that you can literally watch. You
can't think of one black movie that you can put
in your top four like.
Speaker 3 (01:04:21):
That, all these foolish fools, like real people like John
Waters who put together their ten movies in the year,
and somehow Sinners wasn't on any of them, you know,
kind of just speaks of the same thing where I'm like,
I don't know how all of these structors put together
their top ten list.
Speaker 1 (01:04:37):
Sem Sinners isn't on a single one.
Speaker 3 (01:04:40):
Mind you, Sinners is on like some of the most
important people like Steve, Like, I don't know, it's just
exactly it's like it is, Yeah, exactly, we know what
it is.
Speaker 1 (01:04:52):
But yeah, you guys start a letterbox account mine.
Speaker 4 (01:04:55):
I should be Kay Wilson on there. I don't know
if that's how it works. I just made it and
then I put a very jonous my review. I'll read you,
guys my review.
Speaker 1 (01:05:09):
I know it's good, but it's it's a banger. They
ask you.
Speaker 4 (01:05:16):
They ask you when you like they logged the date
that you watched it. They'll say, if it's a rewatch,
it's very I like the way it is. But I
put five stars because they asked you to writ it
out of five that I put. Top four movies in
twenty twenty five, Sinners, Wicked, K Pop, Demon Hunters, and
a very Jonas Christmas Movies literally first movie logged and
(01:05:37):
the movie that made me join Letterbox. God bless the
Jonahs brothers.
Speaker 1 (01:05:42):
That was it.
Speaker 3 (01:05:44):
That's also what the people needed to know. It needed
to be published through the Internet. That people needed to know.
They need to know that that was a Christmas delight,
just like the delight of having you joining me for Podmus.
Speaker 1 (01:05:57):
Thank you so much.
Speaker 3 (01:05:58):
I know this was the last minute, but I really
appreciate you giving me your time because.
Speaker 1 (01:06:02):
You are a very busy diva.
Speaker 4 (01:06:04):
You are a bicastal diva, like let the people know
how they can support you, like let the people know what'll.
Speaker 3 (01:06:11):
Yeah, I mean, if you want to find me on
the old Instige, it's at the Little Beast all one word,
I'm a you know, the little Beast, the big one
and the little one here and uh TikTok same thing,
which is be dot little dot beast And yeah, I
don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:06:26):
Hopefully you guys.
Speaker 3 (01:06:27):
See me on your TV screens more, your movie screens more,
you know, maybe can I will just be in the
background of James gun joints.
Speaker 1 (01:06:35):
You know, hey, literally literally in the background.
Speaker 4 (01:06:41):
We have no idea what can happen, Like Ellie Golden said,
anything can happen.
Speaker 1 (01:06:45):
Anything can happen.
Speaker 5 (01:06:47):
That Pina Chay says, it's all happening.
Speaker 1 (01:06:50):
It's happening. I love you. Thank you so much for
joining me.
Speaker 5 (01:06:56):
Oh my gosh, thank you for having me forever and always.
Speaker 3 (01:06:59):
Bye y'all, Marry Pondmas to all, and to all a
good night.
