Joe Kinser is a graduate of Marshall University with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice. Thereafter, Joe graduated from the West Virginia University College of Law.
Joe is currently the Senior Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Berkeley County and is running to be the next Berkeley County Prosecutor. Joe has been an Assistant Prosecutor in Berkeley County for the last nine years.
Joe started his career at the prosecutor's office fighting for abused and neglected children by representing the State in Child Abuse/Neglect cases. Eventually, Joe transitioned to prosecuting felony offenses but he continues to fight for children. Joe has been the Prosecutor's Office representative on the Berkeley County Multi Disciplinary Team since 2015 and works closely with law enforcement and our local child welfare partners to keep kids safe and pursue justice for children in our community.
Over the years Joe has established himself as an effective prosecutor and has earned the respect of those both in and out of the prosecutor's office. Joe has been responsible for investigating and prosecuting some of the biggest, most complex criminal cases in Berkeley County. Joe's passion for prosecution has even led to the creation of the Cold Case Unit within the Prosecutor's Office, which investigates and prosecutes unsolved cases.
