In this episode, Aryan Ghosh breaks down the current status of the War in Afghanistan, how the US lost to the Taliban and how the Taliban and Al Qaeda quickly rose to power. He explains the origins of the War going back to the Soviet-Afghan War of 1979 and the Cold War between the US and the Soviet Union. He also emphasizes upon the concept of guerilla warfare and how it resulted in the Taliban and the Al Qaeda winning. This episode could not possibly do justice to the complicated history of Afghanistan but we hope we were able to explain everything to help make listeners understand the crisis. We stand in solidarity with the people of Afghanistan who, after 20 years of war, are now having to face a brutal oppressive regime...... We hope you liked the episode!
