(00:01):
Hey y'all, this is Ginger DeVries, guest number 56 of the podcast encouraging
you today to use your position to broadcast God's love.
God's word says, whatever you do in word or deed, do everything in the name
of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
We pray this episode is an encouragement to you to go out and use your position
(00:25):
to broadcast His his love.
From Scotto Albritton Studios, here's your host, Rikki.
Hey, everyone, and welcome to Broadcast His Love.
This is a podcast where we talk about what life looks like when we decrease
our name and increase God's name, because it's all about Jesus living life on purpose with Him.
And my prayer for all of us today is that we don't move until we feel and we
(00:51):
know that the Holy Holy Spirit is leading and guiding us in that direction,
wherever He wants us to go, however He wants us to move.
Even in those big faith moments where you're taking big leaps of faith and just
stepping out in faith for His glory, my prayer is that you feel His Holy Spirit
and that you walk with Him and move when He tells you to move.
Today's episode is, wow, like I'm so excited about it.
(01:15):
Before we started recording, I'm learning all these things about like taking
videos and all like pictures and everything.
We're actually on location, I should say first. We're at First Baptist Church
of Pensacola in downtown Pensacola.
We're with Ashlyn DeVries and Gracie Miller.
They're with See the Movement and they're doing Movement Mondays,
(01:38):
which is a huge women's gathering, young adults, young ladies coming together,
worshiping the Lord, praising his name in public, you know, on the beach and
people are coming to Christ from it.
So we're just really encouraged and inspired from y'all. But how are y'all doing today?
I am doing amazing. Today is literally like the best day ever.
(01:59):
So I'm doing amazing. I am fantastic.
I mean, the giggles and the laughs like, okay, I've been dreaming of this moment.
She said, I've been dreaming of this moment. Okay, so that's Gracie. Yeah, I'm Gracie.
Okay, so here's the thing. When you have three ladies on a podcast,
it's kind of like when three guys go on, it's like, who's talking?
So I'm just going to be like, here's Gracie and then be like,
(02:20):
Like, hey, how's it going?
Okay. Okay. Hey, Gracie. Hey.
Hey, Ashlyn. Hi. Okay. I think we can tell the difference in your voices from
the hey's and hi's. Yeah.
But tell us about See the Movement. What is it? And we'll get more into how
God led y'all to start it. So what is it?
So See the Movement is something really special about it.
(02:43):
Me and Ashlyn actually met our junior year and going into our senior year, the senior summer,
we randomly one day were like, hey, let's meet at the beach and do a Bible study,
which was really weird for us because we've only been doing church things on
Wednesday nights for youth group.
And so I picked her up. We went to the beach one Saturday night and we were
(03:07):
sitting at the beach and we were doing a Bible study.
And we were both
like we wish we could have more people doing this with
us we wish we had a community because me and
Ashlyn both both are very blessed for our
friends to come talk to us and tell us how they feel and the common denominators
they all felt lost they all felt like they didn't know what the future held
(03:28):
and I feel like we all felt like that so we were like we need to create something
that everybody can come and have the same thing in common and just grow from God and that.
Yeah. So I texted Gracie one night and I was like, Hey, let's go to the beach.
Let's just go to a Bible study.
And so we were sitting out there and I was just, I said to her,
(03:49):
I remember being like, what if we got a group of girls and this was something bigger?
And God just put that calling on my heart that this was something that he wanted us to do.
And it was a little scary at first because I was like, what does this mean?
Like, well, I don't know if I'm qualified to do this, but just seeing the way
God has worked and the way that the Lord has provided has like blown loan me away.
(04:09):
And so it was a Saturday night. We were sitting out there.
And just two days later, I remember making a texting group chat on my phone,
and I just added all my friends into this group chat.
And I was like, hey, me and Gracie are doing a Bible study on Monday nights.
Like, everyone's invited.
It's just for high school and college girls just to grow in our faith together.
And we started out with 12 girls on that first Monday.
(04:33):
And here we are seven weeks in. We had 50 girls last night.
And it's just amazing what the Lord is doing and the way he's,
like I said, providing and we're blown away.
We're blown away. I remember we were sitting in the Chick-fil-A parking lot
and I was like, I don't like is like this is terrifying to do this.
(04:53):
And Ashlyn's like, well, what's stopping us from doing it?
And I was like, you're right. Like, what is stopping us? And like, sure enough,
Ashlyn creates that group chat with only like we exceeded on Apple iMessage
We exceeded the number of how many people you could have in a group chat,
which I did not know was a thing. Adam. Adam.
And so we exceeded the limit and we're like, oh, my goodness.
(05:16):
So then we created an Instagram. And overnight, it was just so weird how the word got out.
People were seeing the movement we were doing and just they were following.
And it was just so crazy to see how God works and stuff like that. And we created it.
And like Ashlyn said, the first night we had 12 people and having 12 or 50 people,
(05:37):
it was like, it doesn't matter how many people we have. We were shocked.
And 12 people was a lot for us. We're like, oh my goodness, 12 people, what?
And then it grew to like 25 and we were like, oh my goodness, like 25, like what?
And then it went to like 40. And then when we hit 50, we were like standing
up at the beach, having to talk to them because sitting down,
(05:57):
people in the back couldn't hear us. That's amazing.
Oh my God. Only God. Only God. God, it was God speaking through us.
And it was just, it was crazy.
Well, and to, so when you get an idea, okay, like you use the word called Ashlyn
and I love, I love the world, the word called,
but it also is like such a humbling thing when the Lord says like,
(06:20):
do this, or he puts an idea in your brain. Right.
You know, it could, for some people, it might just be an idea.
And when I say just, I'm not saying it in like, it's a little thing.
Like it could be a big thing that God's doing, but you don't know it at the time. Right.
And so when you guys get this download from Jesus, we'll call it that,
I don't know, this download from the Lord, and it's like, what's holding us
(06:41):
back? Why wouldn't we do this? Right.
You do it, 12 people show up, which I think that's extremely spiritual. Yes.
I mean, everything's spiritual. Make it all spiritual, you know,
but like 12 people. So if you are faithful in the little things,
you know, God can give you much after that because of doing the right things
in the small beginnings of it. Right.
(07:03):
And, you know, it's his plan. It's his will. But I just think it's so awesome
for you girls and for you who's listening.
I just really hope that you're tuned in to what the Lord is doing through these
girls because he's moving and he's active.
He's alive and he's using his word to draw people in to change their hearts
and minds towards Christ Jesus, which is all spiritual.
(07:26):
Like it's nothing of our own flesh. Like we can't do this. Right.
I remember like Gracie saying to me before we started that first night and she
was like, what if no one comes? Right. You know, we didn't see the end picture.
We had no idea that it was going to grow this much and that God was going to
create such a huge movement as it is.
And I remember saying to Gracie, like, if just one person shows up,
(07:46):
if just one person is there and one person's life is changed,
it will all be worth it. Amen.
And it's amazing how much bigger and how big it's already gotten in just a few weeks.
Yeah. We talked about patience last night. And what we do is we focus on a word.
And last night we talked about patience.
And it really hit me because if me and Ashlyn that Monday night,
(08:08):
seven Mondays ago, knew how big we would groan.
We would be terrified, but we had
patience and we saw that God was adding little by little to get bigger.
And if we didn't have patience in that waiting season, we would be terrified
to where we are now, but it's just all God working through it.
(08:28):
And it really shows that God can put something on your heart,
but it won't happen right away.
Like a year ago, I was on, again, on fire for Jesus and I wanted to do something,
thing, but it just kind of fell through.
And that was God saying like, that wasn't the path that he called me to do.
So sometimes when you're wanting something or feel called, it may take a year
(08:49):
for it to happen and that's okay.
Yeah. And that's what I've learned. Like with the Lord, things are slow,
but your faith in him is unwavering, you know, in the yeses,
in the no's, in the uncertainties, the faith remains the same.
The foundation is firm. Christ is our rock, you know?
And I'm so grateful for y'all for saying yes and stepping into what God has asked y'all to do.
(09:13):
I just don't want anybody to be intimidated by the word asked or called because
it is a pressing on your heart where it's like, why wouldn't we do this?
Right. And it's so humbling. Like that moment is so humbling.
You think it's like, oh, it's the Instagram.
Oh, it's the standing up and speaking. Oh, no, no, no, no, no,
no, no. When you're teaching the word of God, you are getting refined.
(09:37):
Like I was joking with someone the other today, actually, like my discipline
is all the time because we always say like decrease me, increase you,
God. And I've learned to like love discipline.
But it's like getting disciplined is all the time for me. Yeah.
Every moment of every day. It's all the time from the Lord. And I know it's for my good.
(09:57):
When you have these teaching platforms, he's giving you those opportunities
to grow closer to him. Yes.
And we just went to a church conference last weekend, and it was all about like,
what is your calling? What is God wanting you to do in this next season of your life?
And me and Gracie both felt on our heart that, you know, something in ministry
is what the Lord is calling us to do.
(10:18):
And we don't know what that looks like yet, but just getting this opportunity
and being obedient and just stepping into faith of just a little step at a time
and being able to see his faithfulness and see what he has in store for us in the future.
And like I said, we didn't feel qualified, but the Lord has showed us that this
is our calling, what he wants us to do.
(10:39):
And we're changing and the Lord is changing people's lives. And it's just amazing.
Yeah. It's cool to witness. It is. One thing that I'm really big on is God cares
about the process, not only the results. Okay.
So he cares about the journey getting there.
So that's been a big thing.
And me and Ashlyn, it was weird because we did feel called.
(11:00):
We did. And we, I was like, I don't know if I'm qualified enough for this.
Like speaking in front of all these girls, like this is scary, like terrifying.
But something on my heart was like, I was trying to make myself feel scared,
but I had a very good piece with it. I was like, Ashton, are you nervous?
She's like, no. And I'm like, I'm not really nervous either.
And then I'm like, last night I was like, hey, like, I think we need to stand up.
(11:23):
Like, people in the back can't hear us. And the waves are really,
like, God's, like, moving the waves back there.
Like, we got to stand up. And she was like, okay, let's stand up.
And one thing. Yes. Okay. Yes. So, yes. Like, God is amazing.
Just think of the character of
Jesus and how he taught. And sometimes he calls us to stand up and roar.
(11:44):
Like, I'm going to use the word roar because it's not in an act of hatred or hurt or whatever,
but it's in an act of obedience to God of like, God, you are good and you have
saved me from all of my sin. All of it washed me white as snow.
And when you take that step up, like, I just love the visual of the waves in
(12:07):
the background because they're loud. They can be loud.
Yeah. And you're like preaching the good news and you stand up and sometimes
you have to be a little louder.
And that's, that's just a beautiful visual that y'all are giving us today.
Yeah. And I wanted to say, Ashlyn, you mentioned that you feel like the Lord's
calling y'all to ministry.
Yes. And I just want you to know, like, and for whoever who's listening to this,
(12:29):
I pray this encourages you in your faith walk, but like your ministry has just
started and it will never end.
It will never end. so no matter the
season of life that you're in no matter what god
calls you to do like okay so ashlyn's mom ashlyn de
vries gender de vries says the intro to every podcast she didn't
know that we were gonna keep going years later but here we are and people who
(12:54):
like comment on the podcast sometimes they think i'm my name is ginger and i'm
like you know that's what it should be it should like this is good this is good
and so anyway but yeah ashlyn's mom is ginger Sure.
She reads a verse at the beginning. It's in Colossians and it talks about no
matter what your position is, use it to glorify the Lord, no matter what it is.
(13:16):
And so when y'all, when you just said like, we believe that we're called to,
you know, work in ministry.
And I'm just going to say yes, because it doesn't matter your position.
Like you can't do illegal stuff. Like that's not going to fly. Yeah. Yeah.
That's like, yeah, we want to do what God commands us to
do and obey his principles and like
(13:39):
yes because all the days of your life you will
be lord willing 95 and you will still be
sitting in these seats with different looking skin
and say i believe that god has called us to ministry if you just keep your faith
and your commitment into him and that is my encouragement for whoever's listening
to this but also for y'all of like y'all have started this ministry journey
(14:01):
And it's for the rest of your life. And it is like so much fun.
It's something that not a lot of people want to sign up for.
But when you do, you see the good. You see the benefits of you see the rewards
of how the Holy Spirit leads you and guides you and you wouldn't want it any other way.
You know right it's truly amazing the the people
(14:23):
that we've met the community that that this group has created
i mean there are people that have just been at the
beach when we've been meeting on monday nights at seven o'clock just
watching the sunset and i've had people come up to me actually last night a
girl was just laying yeah out on the beach and i went up to her and i was like
hey do you mind taking a picture for us and she took our group picture and i
ended up talking with her and she's gonna start coming now that's amazing she
(14:47):
yeah we talked with her and she gave me the biggest hug at the end.
And at first I didn't want, we didn't want to come off.
She was laying on the beach, minding her own business. And me and Ashton were
like, we feel called to go ask this girl to take our picture.
Like there were so many people at the beach, but we were like, let's go ask her.
And we asked her and she was like, that's so ironic. I was just at church yesterday
(15:07):
and they were like, you need to go find a group of girls because she said she also felt lost.
Yeah. And she was like, this is God, you guys coming up. She asked what nights do y'all meet?
And I said, Monday nights. And she said, well, I'm actually off work on Monday nights.
And I was like, well, that's amazing. amazing this is god bring your friend
bring everybody yeah so pastor chris hodges which i know y'all know did you
(15:28):
go to the movement or what's it called the move we went to motion.
We met him i saw we took a picture oh my
goodness he like is amazing like we love him and we listen to his sermons we
actually listen my husband and i we listen to their podcast every week we love
it pc pc yeah yeah c shout out he's probably not gonna listen to this but shout
(15:52):
out bc because Because the Lord is using y'all. That's awesome.
And Charlotte Gamble, like, come on. Oh, she's awesome.
We just got to hear her speak at Motion and she always brings the word.
Okay, share. Like, what did y'all, what's your takeaway from Motion? I need to know.
It was, it was so good. Sadie talked about being a light in kind of the season
(16:13):
that me and Ashlyn were in.
She was like, if you feel called to do something, do it.
And as soon as she said that, me and Ashlyn looked at each other and we were
like, Like that, she's like speaking right at us. Yes. It felt like she was just.
Talking right at at us yeah and she was talking
about we can feel called but we don't want to face the challenges
we don't want to go through the hard stuff and that's why a lot
(16:34):
of people just kind of stop and they're like they get scared but
it's really awesome that me and ashlyn can go and yeah do it yeah it was i mean
the whole conference was about like what is your calling what are you wanting
what is the lord trying to get what are you stepping into and and like i said
before i never thought that ministry was something that was in my future that's
something that i I was going to do.
(16:55):
And I felt like the Lord kind of shifted my perspective and was like,
no, this is your calling. This is what I want you to do.
And just being able to like, see the change in these girls that are coming to
these groups and the difference that the Lord is making really like, it makes me emotional.
Every Monday night I lay in my bed and I'm like, this is so amazing.
Me and Ashton will call each other. And I'm like, what? Like, what just happened?
(17:18):
Like, it was just a blur because it's not us speaking up there.
It's God speaking through us. And when we get up there, it's like all my nerves go away.
And it's just like, I'm speaking to these girls about the goodness of God.
Okay. Real quick, just so people can know a little bit more about who y'all are.
And I should have mentioned this in the beginning. I'm sorry.
But just if you don't mind, share with people a little bit about like the season
of life that y'all are in.
(17:38):
So what, not what's next for you, but I mean, kind of what season of life are
you in Ashlyn and Gracie?
Yeah. So we both just graduated high school and we're kind
of in that transition season between you know leaving our hometown
I'm going to college next week actually and so
it's super exciting just that figuring out
like what what we're doing having to say goodbye to some people and have meeting
(18:00):
new people and and it's a hard season of life and that's why I'm so blessed
to have been able to be a part of this group this summer and and having that
community of Christ centered girls yeah that are now like a part of my family
and I'm gonna forever have that and.
Truly been amazing. It's so sweet. I'm sorry. I'm like all the feels.
(18:21):
It truly all say the feels.
We're in our feels. I'm vibing right now. Is that it? I'm vibing.
I'm vibing. It's just amazing to see.
So I, like Ashlyn said, we just graduated from high school and going into college,
she's leaving for college, but I'm staying, going to a local college.
And it was, we just wanted a sense of community so
(18:44):
to feel like these girls like ashton said i feel like they're
family like as soon as i met these girls even
the girls from day one and the girls that are just coming like as soon
as they give you a hug as soon as i like it's just amazing to see them happy
and like it's so cool to see the hunger all these girls have for god like yeah
they crave it and they may not realize they crave it but like them just showing
(19:06):
up just shows the like the desire need of what they want.
And they, they all feel like sisters. Like it all feels like you could go up
to any of one of them and just talk to them and to see them creating friendships.
Like girls are like, Hey, you want to go grab coffee with this other girl they just met.
And to see all of them just create this friendship is just like very,
very moving. It's so moving. Yeah. It's the movement.
(19:28):
We have girls driving an hour from their houses to come be a part of this group
and people taking off work to make sure that they're there every Monday.
I mean, we've been giving Bibles out to people who've never had a bible
we have girls getting baptized tomorrow night yes yes
way this one girl came up to
us and was like how do you guys do these messages and we were
(19:49):
like oh we like look on the bible app and all
this and she was like well what's the bible app like yes girls starting
from day one and girls dming us
and saying hey are y'all still doing this during school because i'm from far
away and i'm not here right now for the summer but will you still be be doing
it during school we have girls wanting to come thank you for sharing that because
(20:10):
when i go on instagram i don't see that not from y'all but like i don't i see a lot more of the world,
than like the goodness of god sometimes and like to hear y'all you know the next generation.
Not only broadcasting God's love, praise the Lord, but like sharing with us
the behind the scenes stuff of like the hunger for God, the desire. It's truly amazing.
(20:35):
I mean, we talked about patience last night and as I was speaking,
I was saying how we're all in different seasons of our lives.
We have girls from ages 15 to 22 and everybody's in a different season,
but we all need patience.
We all need God's love. We're all growing in our faith. Don't say that word
too loud. I'm just kidding.
And the way that the Lord has provided has blown me away.
(20:56):
I mean, it was raining a couple weeks ago and girls were messaging me,
are we going to cancel? And I was like, no, we're not going to cancel.
We're still going to meet.
And the Lord opened up a home for us to meet in. And it's been amazing.
Yeah. Okay. So I want to ask y'all, I've got two more questions left. Okay.
I want to ask y'all what Bible verse is encouraging on this season. Is that okay? Yeah.
(21:16):
Okay. So mine is Joshua 1.9, and it's the Lord will be with you wherever you
go. and I actually had that verse on my senior parking spot.
So every day as I would drive into school, I would see it on my parking spot.
And it just kind of goes along with this movement that the Lord will always
be with you wherever you go.
Like I said, I'm going to college next week and I want to continue remembering
(21:38):
that and remembering the way that the Lord has provided with these girls in this group.
Okay, and that word go at the end, like the Lord will be with you wherever you go.
Like you're going, girl. And even if you're staying, you're going because that's
how the Lord is like he can make an adventure in your backyard.
Yeah. No, he can make it at the beach. Yeah. He makes it anywhere.
(22:00):
God makes it literally anywhere.
So what Bible verse for you, Gracie? Mine is Matthew 6, 33.
But first seek his kingdom and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well.
And that verse has been so heavy on my heart.
There is even a song called provide and it
says but first seek his kingdom and everything else will be
(22:23):
provided that really goes with the movement
and i just every time i hear that verse it's like
first seek god and he'll provide everything else when me and ashlyn met at the
beach seven mondays ago we saw god we were there with him and his word and he
provided every single monday rain or shine yeah every single monday more than
(22:44):
what we could have ever done like it's It's raining.
A girl text says, hey, I have a beach house two minutes away.
We can meet here. Perfect. Like he provided every single time.
So with that, I think there's a very teachable moment here about flowing with the Holy Spirit.
So like everything in our flesh wants us to worry and be like.
(23:05):
Oh no, this is not good. Everything's falling apart. You know what I'm saying?
Like where you're like, I'm a failure, you know, but like at the end of ourselves
is when we realize, I mean, I kind of laugh like God's in control.
You got this. You're a heavenly father. You go before us. You make a way.
You made a way in the wilderness a long time ago and you're doing it for me right now.
(23:28):
You know what I mean? Just like stuff where you laugh, like flowing with the
Holy Spirit, he's got your back.
Is there anything that y'all could share to encourage the person listening about trusting Jesus?
So trust is actually my word. I have it on a bracelet.
God has just given me the big, like the word of my year is just trust.
(23:50):
Like we're all going through changes in life. No matter what season you're in
right now, you're going through a change. School's about to start.
And just knowing that God has our whole life planned out. and I just picture
God standing right before you and you're just like this little person and God's
like this big giant and you just give him all your worries.
Like you literally lay it down at his feet and just know that you can't control everything.
(24:14):
Yeah. You physically, like I saw this thing where it's like you go through some
things that don't even happen because you worry about it before it even happens.
And that just shows that when you trust God, when you trust knowing that he,
like don't worry about tomorrow.
Tomorrow has its own worries. Yes. Yes. Worry about the moment because God's
got your whole story, your life planned out.
(24:36):
Just gives you this like really good sense of peace and just knowing like,
okay, God, here's my worries.
I can't like, I'm, I can't do this on my own. Just inviting God into your life
is just very like a calming thing. Such a calming, calming thing.
The word that you just used, the word moment.
I mean, it just drew me into like this moment and this breath.
(24:58):
Like I need a breath yeah right now like I need it and God supplies it and just
in the simpleness of like.
Even if I had oxygen, you know, like over my face where I'm like breathing in
and out, like I need oxygen.
Yeah. And God supplies all that we need.
And so for whoever's listening, I just want to remind you about this moment
(25:21):
that we're in. Like, thank you, Gracie, for sharing that.
And I know Ashlyn, you have some words on it, but just if you need a visual,
like oxygen going over your face, how you need oxygen, that is how God supplies
everything that you need.
He he goes before us and just like that girl on the beach, like the Lord is
(25:41):
you're like, we're just souls, you know? Yeah. And she was out there on the beach.
God sees her. God made her for like he made all of us and he has a plan for her life.
And so, yeah, I'm just so ignited myself to like hear that y'all are saying
yes and inviting everyone in.
So, Ashlyn, tell us what's God doing on your heart with this whole trust Jesus? Jesus.
(26:03):
Yeah. So the Lord really put the word vessel on my heart just now, actually.
And I feel like that is such a good example of like what we're doing and how
we it's all for his glory.
And we're vessels by bringing other people to him.
You know, it's not it's not anything we're doing. It's all him.
And it's just about us being obedient and saying yes and taking that next step.
And it's scary. And like I said, we were we were afraid we didn't feel qualified.
(26:27):
But every single Monday before we start, you know, we always me and Gracie always pray,
like, just give us the words to say, like, we can prepare a study,
you know, we can look up videos or look up scripture, but it's all the Lord
is going to put on our heart what he wants us to say and what these girls really need to hear.
Yeah. And I think it's funny. Like, do y'all know Francis Chan?
(26:47):
Yes. Okay. I was watching something that he was doing the other day,
and this is all to encourage you listening. Like, this guy's got a testimony.
Okay. Like, he's got a testimony.
And just sharing your testimony, you know, that's,
There is really nothing like super impressive about Francis Chan,
(27:07):
like physically, you know?
But like when you hear his testimony, I mean, I got saved after I heard him
and Andy Stanley speaking, like, and then got like the message for Broadcast
is Love back in high school.
There is, when I saw him first, I was like, this is like some dude, you know, like some guy.
And he kept talking about eating rice with his family. And like everybody laughed,
(27:30):
you know? But when he talked about the word of God, it not only moved my heart, but it changed my life.
And now I'm betting my whole life on it.
What y'all are doing out there is so, like y'all write on Instagram, it's more than us.
(27:50):
God is in this. He's in control and he's leading it. And I just pray for growth, success,
continued success in Christ Jesus and for him to keep giving you new scriptures
and new testimonies to share with
other people to encourage them to choose Jesus and walk with the Lord.
Is there anything y'all want to say for anybody who's listening who maybe doesn't
(28:11):
know about Jesus, anything from your experiences that you wanted to share to
encourage them to walk with the Lord today?
It's like a big question. Yeah, let me think.
Yeah, I think just like, don't be afraid. Like the Lord has equipped you for
like, he has your life planned out. He knows what tomorrow holds.
He knows what 10 years from now holds. And just not being, just trusting him
(28:32):
and putting all your faith in him because he will never fail you.
And that's such a peace, like Gracie said, to know when you wake up in the morning,
he puts the breath in your lungs.
Yeah. You know, he puts you in the places that you are in the exact spot that
he wants you to be in. Yeah. And I just love that.
Another thing is like, people are going to come and go out of your life.
They're going to be in your life for a season, a reason, or your whole life.
(28:55):
But God is there for everything.
And just knowing that you're going to have that one person there for you your whole life.
Yeah. And just like Ashton said, trusting him, putting your life in him.
Like, that's just really, really peaceful just to know that he's got you.
Like, he's got your back. And it can be scary.
It's something that you just really have to trust in God. And you need to have that moment with God.
(29:17):
And you need to be like, God, like, I can't do this on my own.
I cannot do this on my own and just having knowing that god has you is just very very like.
Encouraging and that's what this whole movement is for is just to spread the
word with girls and just Let them know that they're not alone Yeah,
god's got them and just creating that community to know that like you may not
(29:38):
know that that person's going through something But now you do know and you're like we're all human.
We all need we're in this together. We're in this together other yeah yes for
the glory of god okay contact info how can we see the movement.
Yeah we have an instagram it's just called see
the movement see the movement it's awesome we are seeing the movement i love
(30:01):
it i love but you know what hey it takes bold faith to do what y'all are doing
and yeah just prayers for more god
movements it's so good let's is there anything else i want one to share.
Anything else? There's one more
thing I wanted to share. And it's God can have a calling in your life.
Like I was mentioning earlier, but years before it'll actually happen and it'll
(30:24):
take a moment for you to realize like, that's God putting it on my heart.
Because I, for the longest time would be like, I feel like I want to do something
with the church, but I would just hide it.
I remember three years ago sitting in the car and be like, mom,
I feel like I should, but I would try to hide it.
But then when God has something on your heart, he'll keep it on your heart.
I remember driving home from the I would go to the gym every single morning
And I would sit in the car and I would pretend like i'm standing on a stage
(30:46):
Talking to people and I would just talk about like the sun is rising and god
shows up every time I would record myself in the car and now that we're doing this in front of people.
It's like weird how god Will give you previews throughout your life and then
you get to the moment and you're like, whoa Like that was god the whole time,
Preparing me for this moment And it's it's so crazy looking back now No.
(31:09):
So for whoever's listening, I just feel in my spirit that somebody related to you.
So those are visions from God. Yeah, it was a vision. And then it's happening.
And it's like, it's like, whoa, like God is like, I'm like, whoa,
we need to slow down. And God's like, no. So what's your encouragement to the
person listening who agrees with you?
Don't try to hide something that God is holding on your heart.
(31:30):
And it may not happen right away. Because for me, I'm a very like, now, now, now person.
My parents are always like, be proactive, Do it now. Do it now.
But when God has it on your heart, it may not happen right away.
God cares about the process. God cares about everything happening to get to
where you're going. So just don't give up.
Oh, don't give up. Don't give up. Don't give up. Ashlyn, is there anything that
(31:53):
God put on your heart before you came here and you wanted to share?
I know you've shared a lot.
Like you've shared a lot going from 12 to 50 girls and how the Lord has provided,
but is there just anything else you want to share?
I'm just, like I said, blown away by what the Lord is doing.
And I'm so excited to, I'm going to college in a couple of days and,
you know, maybe starting something thing up there too in
(32:15):
a new city and just what the lord has put on
my heart it's me and i saw this thing yesterday that said you're living
through something that you've prayed about you know
you're living and i it's true that's so good change my perspective well you
know what your mom says is i'm living through the prayers of my i think my grandparents
i'm living through the prayers of my grandparents like maybe give us one that's
(32:37):
so good that is so good and that's the favor of God through prayers from a former generation.
God is so spiritual and He's so good. He provides, protects everything.
Let's pray. And yeah, just the fact that y'all came in here today talking about
how God drew you to His light. He is the light.
(32:57):
And now y'all are out there on the beach in the light.
You can't help but look at when you're in a dark room.
This is the last thing I'm going to say. I'm going to pray. When you're in a
dark room and somebody turns on the flashlight,
what do you do you look at it you look at it and so that is who he is in us
and as you're boldly taking steps to proclaim the gospel and the good news y'all
(33:20):
are being that flashlight and so i'm so grateful for y'all also pray for god's protection over y'all.
And yeah, he's our refuge. So let's pray. Father God, thank you so much for today.
Thank you for First Baptist of Pensacola hosting us today. Thank you for See the Movement.
And thank you for just letting us have the opportunity to share this testimony
(33:41):
with somebody listening.
I want the person to know who's listening to this, that this is not an accident
that they're listening, that this is not a coincidence that they're listening,
that your hand is in this.
And actually, you knew about it a long, long time ago. You made
the plans for their life and you have plans to prosper them and not to harm
them Plans to give them hope and a future and so for the person who's listening
(34:05):
today who doesn't have hope I pray that they put their faith in jesus today
And there is so much about jesus in his word his teachings how he lived how
he walked He's our savior.
He died for our sins on the cross and he rose in three days and he's coming
Back and so we are expected on him.
We are excited for his return turn. But as this flashlight for the Lord,
(34:28):
Him living inside of us right now,
I pray for these girls, Ashlyn and Gracie, Lord, that you just renew and ignite
their flashlight to burn even brighter for you.
And I pray it's like a remnant to everybody who hears them speak in Jesus' name.
And I also pray for the person who's listening, if they don't know you,
(34:49):
to put their faith in you and to go to a local Bible-believing church and tell
them about the decision that they've made today for your glory.
Get connected into community as we've learned today about how important that
is to get plugged into community and
to talk about you and be bold and be unashamed and say yes way to Jesus.
(35:09):
Thank you for this time. Decrease us and increase you in Jesus' name. Amen. Amen.
