In 2012, Swedish native, Fredrik Backman wrote his novel “A Man Called Ove”, which was adapted into a Swedish feature film of the same name in 2015, before finally landing on director Marc Forster’s lap for an American adaptation starring none other than Tom Hanks.
It turns out that Backman’s heartfelt story of a man who became bitter at a world that isn’t the way he’d like it to be, rang true with readers and movie goers around the world.
