From empowering young girls to celebrating seasoned leaders, this episode shines a spotlight on the Women of Integrity and Young Women of Integrity Awards. We delve into the mission behind these prestigious recognitions—celebrating women who inspire, lead, and uplift their communities in countless ways. As we discuss the origin of these awards and their vital importance, we introduce the newly launched category for young women aged 12-22, who are making impactful changes and serving as role models for future generations.

Listeners will gain insights on how to smoothly navigate the nomination process for both awards, the values that drive our initiatives, and the significance of community recognition. Additionally, we emphasize the handcrafted nature of the award pieces, produced by local artisans, and how they symbolize the integrity and hard work of the recipients. This is more than an award; it’s about creating a lasting legacy and motivation for all women to strive for excellence.

As we gear up for the celebration at Revere and Revel on October 23rd, we invite listeners to participate in recognizing outstanding women within their own circles. Join us in uplifting voices that often go unheard and spotlight those who are transforming lives—one act of integrity at a time. Don’t miss this opportunity to engage with your community—subscribe, share this episode, and let’s celebrate together!

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hi everybody, and welcome back to the Build With
BBB podcast.
Today on the podcast, we'regoing to be talking about our
annual Women of Integrity Awardsand yes, I said awards, because
this year, we have openednominations for a brand new
award, our Young Women ofIntegrity Award, aimed at
honoring young women ages 12 to22,.

(00:22):
So middle school, high schooland college-aged women and young
women ages 12 to 22,.
So middle school, high schooland college age women and young
women who are doing great thingsin their community.
Today on the podcast, what Ireally wanted to do, though, is
talk about our two separateawards, how you can go about
nominating somebody, and all theinformation that you need to
know, so I think the best placeto start is pretty easy.
We want to start with.
When did these awards start?

(00:44):
Why does BBB do these annualawards, and how can I nominate
either a young woman or a womanfor the Woman of Integrity Award
or Young Woman of IntegrityAward In 2021,?
Our team here at BBB, servingCentral Oklahoma, came up with
the idea of starting awomen-focused conference, and

(01:08):
out of that idea, revere andRevel was born, and so you've
probably seen us do promotionsfor it each year.
This year, we're hosting Revereand Revel on October 23rd at
the First Americans Museum.
We're really excited.
We've got a great lineup ofspeakers.
We have an awesome committeethat's working tirelessly behind
the scenes to make sure that itis an event worth celebrating.

(01:30):
Our theme for this year isfailure, and we like to think of
failure as it's a steppingstone.
It's a learning event.
It's things that are going tohelp us learn how to be better,
how to serve our communitiesbetter, how to serve our people
better, how to serve ourfamilies better.
So, because of that, we have anawesome lineup of women leaders

(01:51):
, women business owners who areready to share their story on
October 23rd.
So make sure, if you haven't,I'll include information below
about purchasing tickets, tables, all the fun things so that you
can bring your team and getready to celebrate women and
their allies in our community.
Also, at that event, we arehonoring Women of Integrity and
our first ever Young Women ofIntegrity Award, and we're so

(02:14):
excited about this.
When we decided to launch Revereand Revel, we knew that there
was a need to bring back orcreate an award in our community
to celebrate women who weredoing things just better, who
were operating with integrityinside and outside of the office
, who are finding ways to uplifttheir community, who are basing

(02:37):
all of their decisions on whatwe like to call our core values
here at BBB accountability,adaptability, integrity,
authenticity, collaborationthings that we think deserve a
spotlight.
And so out of that came ourWoman of Integrity Award.
And this past year we saw a gap.
We wanted to find a way tocelebrate the young women in our

(02:57):
community, the rising stars, ifyou will young business owners,
potential business owners, community leaders, young women
who are doing great things tomake change in their community
and make a positive and lastingimpact, and so out of that came
our Young Woman of IntegrityAward.
The great thing about theseawards is that the nomination
process is pretty simple.

(03:18):
For the Woman of IntegrityAward, maybe you nominate a
friend, a mentor, a coworker, acolleague, your boss, whatever
that looks like a church leaderand it should take no longer
than 15, 20 minutes for you towrite out that nomination, and
then all of our nominations aregoing to a voting committee made

(03:39):
up of accredited businessowners, community leaders who
believe in the mission of BBBand believe in integrity and
authenticity, and we're soexcited about that, and same
goes for our Young Women ofIntegrity Award.
These things are also based offof our core values here locally
at BBB Serving Central Oklahoma, and the difference between

(04:01):
these two awards is the YoungWoman of Integrity Award really
focuses on lasting impact andcommunity-driven focus for young
women, so women who are doingthings to really impact their
community.
You can find information aboutthe two nomination forms down in
our show notes below, so makesure to take a few minutes out
of your day and nominate theamazing women and young women in

(04:24):
your life.
I also wanted to give a specialminutes out of your day and
nominate the amazing women andyoung women in your life.
I also wanted to give a specialshout out.
Each year, these awards arehandmade here in Oklahoma City
by Art Fusion Studio, theBewleys, and they do a wonderful
job, and so what we really wantto do in everything that we do
is support local businesses andshine a light on the great work
that they're doing, and so it'sa piece of lasting artwork that

(04:44):
you can display in your home andyour business to show that, yes
, I am a woman of integrity, I'ma young woman of integrity and
I'm making a difference, becauseso often it feels that we are
going through our every dayright.
We're chomping away at ourto-do lists, we're doing the
different things that we knowmatter, but they often go

(05:05):
unnoticed.
And it isn't until you hit kindof those big milestones, those
big successes, that somebodysays, wow, you've been so
fortunate, you've kind of donethis overnight.
But they didn't see the behindthe scenes of you working really
hard for those things, or thepeople in your life who are
working really hard for thosethings.
So make sure to submit yournominations today.
Life who are working reallyhard for those things, so make

(05:25):
sure to submit your nominationstoday.
We're so excited to recognizethese women on October 23rd at
Revere and Revel.
You can find all of theinformation down below.
If you have questions about theevent or how to nominate
somebody, be sure to leave it ina comment and we will make sure
to answer.
We've got some upcomingepisodes, so be sure to tune in.
