Words are a powerful thing—not just the ones we speak to others but the ones we say to ourselves. Words can shape our thoughts, which control our emotions, which ultimately drive our actions. They hold the power to lift us up or tear us down, sometimes in just a moment. But what if we could use words to build resilience, foster growth, and create a life filled with hope and possibility?

On this episode of Building Resilience, I’m giving you a hack of mine—my list of "resilience-building words." These 10 simple yet impactful words can help shift your perspective, calm your nervous system, and keep you moving forward even in challenging times.

This week, I challenge you to notice the words you use and try incorporating some of these resilience-building words into your vocabulary. You might be surprised by how much power they hold.

Join me on this podcast as I navigate the murky waters of human behavior, current events, and personal anecdotes through in-depth interviews with incredible people—all served with a generous helping of sarcasm and satire. After years as a forensic and clinical psychologist, I offer a unique interview style and a low tolerance for bullshit, quickly steering conversations toward depth and darkness. I honor the seriousness while also appreciating wit. I’m your guide through the twisted labyrinth of the human psyche, armed with dark humor and biting wit.
