This week, we are discussing a very scary word: recession. While this term may make people break out in a cold sweat, it’s actually a fairly normal economic event. We’ll start the show with an ode to superheroes as National Superhero Day is April 28th. We’ll have a superhero-themed Would You Rather, then run down our list of the world’s richest superheroes. In the meat of the show, we’ll talk about what a recession is and what causes it. In this high-level episode, we’ll also help define some jargon and concepts that often accompany a recession including consumer confidence, unemployment rates, and political instability. While recessions aren’t ever a walk in the park, they are an unavoidable stage of the economic cycle. It is better to be prepared for one than to enter a recession cycle without a clear game plan.
