Speaker 1 (00:07):
A good martial artist
does not become tense, but
ready.
Essentially, at this point thefight is over.
So you pretty much flow withthe goal.
Who is worthy to be trustedwith the secret to limitless
power?
I'm ready.
It's going down, folks.
(00:33):
I'm telling you one of thegreatest matches of all time
between two of the modern-dayGOATs.
We're talking Adele Fornerinoversus Fion Davies.
It's going down and we have thesecret sauce behind Adele
Fornerino's legendary strength,and that's the thing.
She's tiny but mighty, andpeople always talk about man.
(00:54):
She's so strong.
Why is she so strong?
Because she's been trainingbulletproof folks, and this is
the secret reveal.
We are actually going to besharing Adele Fornerino's snc
program and you can get it, fuckyou, there it is.
So I mean, I'm excited for thematch because it's you know, usc
fight pass it's.
(01:14):
They've taken the um formatfrom cji with the uh five by
five minute rounds.
Oh, have they?
Yeah, so it's a longer match,yeah, but obviously if there's a
submission, there's asubmission and I believe that
Adele is going to submit.
Wow, five by five, that's nice.
It's a bigger, it's a biggermatch and I don't know if
they've also stolen the uh likescoring.
You know that that wasn't clearin the post.
(01:35):
You know which is.
Which is a cool thing about CJI, but I I have such faith in
Adele's attackingness.
But the thing that when I talkto people who train with her
because she's actually a verynice, friendly person but then
you roll her and she's trying tobreak your shit, she's trying
to get on your limbs and breakthem she's got that vicious
intent.
It's what makes a champion.
(01:57):
It's her job.
You believe it?
Have you rolled with her?
I haven't rolled with herrecently, many moons ago, but I
hope to get a chance soon.
She was rolling shark tankrounds before the Giles trials,
so I was watching her train, butwhat was kind of funny about
that was she had five ladiesshark tanking her, including
(02:19):
Livia Giles shout out and theywere getting tired.
And she wasn't getting tiredSort of off in the way, isn't it
?
She just kept like just workingeveryone and everyone's like,
oh my God, won't she get tiredsoon?
And she's got an incredible gastank as well as being super
strong.
Has she put on weight for thisfight A little bit?
Yeah, yeah, it is slightlyheavier than what she Because
(02:41):
Fionn typically is a muchheavier competitor.
Fion will have to cut for this.
And you look at photos of Fionwhen she's training at Los
Benditos, she's not lookingsmaller, no, yeah, she's looking
more hench, yeah.
So, but that said, like I thinkthat the whole thing in
jiu-jitsu, and humans too, welook at something like, oh,
they're big, they must be strong.
It the case?
(03:06):
And I think that Adeleepitomizes this idea that she's
just small, lean, fit, lookinghuman, but extraordinarily
strong.
And that's because, folks, I'vebeen putting her through her
paces.
This is the secret sauce.
Tell us about the program, bro.
So how are you doing?
So I contacted Adele well, it'sprobably a bit over two years
ago actually, and I had noticedthat she was kind of doing a bit
of training in the gym, but itdidn't seem very structured and
I said I called her.
(03:27):
I said, man, I messaged her andI called her and I said have
you got an S&C coach?
She's like at the moment I donot.
I said let me help you withthat, we got something for you.
So I've been writing her acustom program for the last two
years which no one has reallyseen.
She posts about her trainingevery now and again.
But yeah, just staying up withher and then trying to help her
(03:47):
if she's got any injuries oranything like that.
But essentially, so much of whatAdele's like game is is her
ability to like grab hold of youand not let go and break the
thing.
And more recently it's beenadding more dynamic elements
like power elements, jumpingelements.
So she had asked me can yougive me something that's going
(04:08):
to make me faster and moreexplosive?
And so we factored that in as atraining day and she loves that
.
So we've got it structuredthere.
It's a three-day program and itdoes feature slightly different
elements on different days interms of one day is more dynamic
, one day is heavier and one dayis a little bit more oriented
(04:30):
towards like building a bit ofmuscle in certain areas.
And, man, she's just beenlooking jacked.
She fucking looks in amazingshape.
Every photo you see her she'sjust like, even if she's just
coaching, she's like banging herarm on the barrier Like Jesus.
Look at those BiceptorsBiceptors, so good, and she
loves it.
Man, there's some very funnybut cool bro elements about
(04:55):
Adele.
She just loves to fucking bethe daddy, you know, yeah, and I
think the thing that a lot ofpeople don't appreciate is how
hard she does work, not just onthe mat, but in the gym doing
her mobility, doing all therecovery, she, she does
everything right, yeah.
So she is an amazing example ofwhat needs to happen, and she's
also, like, humble enough to askquestions like, oh, should I do
(05:18):
this or should I do that?
She doesn't just think, oh, Iknow better, which is very
impressive about her.
Yeah, she's a really, reallygood role model for, like a like
an elite athlete and what ittakes to be professional in this
game.
And look, I had, I had alwaysthought she's going to be a
black belt world champion.
I had always thought that and Ithought one day she will.
She will probably win the ADCC.
(05:38):
As a just as a, as alightweight woman, I had no idea
that she would be able tobecome an absolute champion.
I don't think anybody really Inthe same year, yeah.
On the same tournament, yeah, like it's quite wild to think
that she's the lightest athleteto ever win the absolute.
Yeah, wow, that's incredible.
It's incredible.
(05:59):
And so Did she win the final bysubmission?
No, she had Bia Moschita in atriangle, like an offside
triangle, and she just campedout.
She was trying to get stuffgoing, but Bia was just keeping
her away the whole time.
Huh, well, no, no, no, becauseshe actually swept to an armbar.
She fought out of the armbarand put her into a triangle,
(06:21):
kind of like an offside triangle, and then she just camped down,
she just stalled there, yeah,right.
And so, even though you couldsee that Adele was working quite
hard to try and open her arm upand push, it ended that she
actually won because Bea gotpenalized, I think, two or three
times.
Yeah, so they stood them up andthe referee actually got a
(06:44):
little bit confused, like oh, isit a drawer?
It's like, no, actually be alosers Cause.
She just, she did nothing, shedidn't try and escape.
She just, she just was tooscared to get brutally submitted
.
Yeah, funny, that isn't it?
Yeah, it's like I'm, I'm, I'mhappy, I'm, I'll rather take the
loss rather than having achance.
I don't want to get highlightreel, I just I'll just take a
because, like, how many pointslost, kind of thing?
(07:05):
I mean fucking, not eventhrowing shade Cause, no, I
don't compete at that level, butno, but it is funny what
happens to the like forever.
I'm watching, you're like, man, just fucking do some.
We say that when we're watchingUFC too.
Right, where you're like justgo for it, man, you're losing.
But it's like nah, like goinginto a submission or a knockout,
(07:26):
like that's fucking scary man.
Yeah, definitely.
And I think also if you knowthat you can't get out, you're
like, wow, because how manyhighlights is there of Adele
doing the mere lock and justbending Ciliary sticks?
Yeah, just beer basilicos arminside out.
Pretty sure that beer mosquitowas like I don't want that, I
(07:47):
don't want to get highlight reel.
Can't be the second beer tobreak a arm today.
No, but full respect to boththose champions, but Adele just
did come through and do seriousdamage.
So tell me the program youmentioned.
It's three days a week.
It's three days.
It's bigger than our normalprograms because it's like
slightly longer.
So you're looking at more likean hour's worth of training.
(08:07):
It is a bit more demanding.
Such is the case when you'retraining at a higher level.
But if you're someone who islooking to take your training up
a notch, I mean, obviously it'sgood to have a base level, but
what we wanted to do with thisis for people to also appreciate
the kind of work she has to do.
(08:29):
So I, you know, I talked withher about it and if she was
happy to share that.
So this is the program she wasfollowing up into her lead, into
her double gold at the ADCC.
Also, with that, when you buythe program, a good percentage
of that money goes to Adele.
So by buying the program, youare also supporting the athlete.
(08:49):
Fuck yeah, and this is whereit's different.
I think the biggest challengefor most athletes is they're
trying to sustain their careers.
Yeah, and what I wanted to dowith this is make sure that she
gets a good chunk of it so thatit rewards her for all the hard
work she's put in Absolutely.
But I think where this isdifferent to some of the other
(09:10):
programming because when I workwith any athlete and I'm sure
you're the same, joe you do itmore specifically for the
individual.
It's not that we ever have aone size fits all, but we have
some standards that we likepeople to try and get with,
especially if they haven'ttrained a lot before.
But when you've got a reallytrained individual, you've got
to make it suit them.
Yeah, so for Adele, there's alot of core and upper body
(09:32):
strength, as much as there islike hip, knee, lower body work,
because that's like superimportant to her.
And, yeah, on the day, which isa bit more explosive, a bit
more power oriented.
It's a bit shorter, so it's abit more intense, but it's kind
of slightly less long sessionfor greater intensity.
(09:52):
Yeah right, requires moreeffort in the moment, in the
moment, and so, yeah, I thinkit's something that I would like
to bring more to the fore, because I think that, for the
most part, when you see a greatathlete, you have no idea what
they're doing behind closeddoors, like, yeah, you know,
it's a bit of a, it's a bit of amystery, and so this puts that
out there, and it also meansthat you can kind of train
(10:14):
alongside Adele in that way too.
That's fucking fun.
Yeah, man, tell me, would you,um, would it be suitable for
beginners or is it more of asort of?
No, you could definitelyexperienced you.
I would.
I generally promote this tosomeone who's already done a
little bit of weight trainingbefore.
But anyone can do this program.
Just know it's not easy.
(10:35):
You work to your appropriatelevel, right, the deadlifts you
do at the weight that's suitablefor you.
You just.
But, for example, there's likea single arm deadlift in there,
like, yeah, that's, it's areally tough, it's really hard
if you've not really donedeadlifting before.
Yeah, there's pause.
Squats in there, yeah, likethere's a six second pause in
there.
Wow, that's a fucking long timeto be hanging out in the bottom
(10:58):
.
You know, if you've never donesquats before, like it's going
to be a bit of a rude shock.
So it doesn't mean you can't doit, but just know that as the
program progresses, it does geta fair bit harder, yeah.
So you just got to know it'sgoing to take a little bit
longer, it'll push you, but Ithink people are going to get a
lot out of it.
Fuck, I'm excited to do it.
Yeah, man, it's going to be,it's going to be fun time.
I'd love to get some fuckingsingle arm deads and just some
(11:21):
slightly more demanding shit.
It was just have some structure.
You know, like I fucked aroundwith a bit of that, but to have
structure around it, you know, and program phases, and yeah,
adele's program, yeah, which Iguess brings us to another thing
(11:43):
, which is that so, like withour, with all of our programs
that we currently have, forthose who have, who are
currently subscribed to theBulletproof app or have been
subscribed in the past, you knowthere's a bunch of programs in
there, right, that you canchoose from.
This program is not part ofthat subscription.
No, this is a standaloneprogram.
It is a special item.
(12:03):
It's, you know, for obviousreasons, and so it's not
available through subscription.
It's a one-off purchase.
Yes, and to that point, we willbe releasing a whole bunch of
our other programs also asone-off purchases, which is
something we've wanted to do foryears.
Yep, it's just been one ofthose kinds of things that's
(12:24):
been pushed to the bottom of thelist Cause there's been more
pressing things.
Yeah, but for people who arelike yo, I want to train with
you guys, but I don't want tohave another subscription.
By the time you're hearing this, you'll be able to.
We probably won't have all ofour programs available Not
immediately, but a good chunk ofthem and you can just get them
through the website on our store.
You just go to the store and theprogram lives there, and the
(12:47):
cool part is is that you canpurchase it one-off fee and then
you can access it via the appand you can train the whole shit
and yeah, it's great.
Yeah, and so you get the.
This is the benefit I feel.
You get the benefit of the app,so you can still log your
jiu-jitsu.
You can still, you know, logyour strength, log your mobility
, like you still get all thefunction of the app, but you
(13:08):
just have the exclusive accessto that program.
And yeah, man, I think this isa real unlock, because I've had
plenty of people say to me hey,I just want to do the kettlebell
program.
You will be able to, in thecoming weeks, be able to just
purchase the kettlebell programand you don't have to have
another subscription.
So I think for some people outthere, that really suits them
(13:33):
and what you're going to seemore as the Bulletproof for BJJ
athlete family grows, thatyou'll be able to get some
really cool behind-the-scenesinsight into how some of these
top international competitorstrain and you can follow along
with their training.
Yeah, I mean without revealingnames.
You've got a couple otherathletes' programs that will
also be available soon.
Right, that will be availablesoon, and so if you want to know
(13:54):
what's helping them be sosavage and so strong and so fit,
that'll be available.
And we there's also an upcomingcollaboration, oh, which is I
can't say too much yet becauseit's just, it's in the works,
fuck yeah, but you've got to getexcited for it because it.
Provided all things goaccording to plan, you're going
to be connected with theall-star cast.
(14:16):
Yeah, to that point.
While we're spilling the beans,um, we've got a version 2.0 of
standards nice, which will becoming soon.
I've been working on thisactually for some time, but and
again it's just been somethingthat I haven't made the time to
actually execute.
Fucking get it out there, yeah, and so now it's happening.
(14:37):
And also a 2.0 for our MobilityFoundation program yeah, I know
a lot of people are excited forthat as well as some extra
mobility products.
So there's a bunch of new shitcoming.
Well, like over the next coupleof months, yeah, so this is
great, and I think that's thething that a lot of people don't
necessarily realize.
If you've seen the app in theapp store and you thought, oh,
maybe, nah, I'm not sure, thisis a really good way for you to
(14:59):
be able to experience what theapp is, and we are updating it.
That's the thing.
We update the programs, we'reupdating the technology, we're
constantly doing bug fixes andwe're about to take a huge jump
up in terms of how people trainand have a good experience with
that.
Yeah, you, you know, I was justthinking about it.
I'm like we haven't added a lotof new programming over the
(15:21):
last two years and I was like, why is that?
And I was like, because we'vebeen fucking dealing with this
app for the last two years, likewe built an app and then we're
like fixing problems and thatwas really everything over the
last couple years, wasn't it?
Yeah, and it's like man, so sogood that that is largely, uh,
not not an issue.
Now there's always things, butit is pretty much smooth sailing
(15:43):
.
So like, oh, cool, we can focuson like bringing some new shit
to the people.
You know, when you see I don'tknow if you see this, joe, you
might uh, I guess like handymanfail clips where, like they've
got a PowerPoint in the shower, you know, you know, like they're
just like, they're kind of likememe photos where it's just
like the hand dryer next to thetoilet, stuff, like that.
(16:05):
You're like, oh, what's, uh,what's going on there?
Yeah, and I think we've had afew moments like that, like you
know, and we really appreciate,um, the love and understanding
of, of of anyone who knows thatwe are, we are some, we are some
bros and we wanted to make anapp and really we don't have a
technical background.
So we've had to kind of failforward and as we take your
(16:25):
feedback and as we improve, wekeep trying to make it better
and we're at a really good pointnow where we have an awesome
team and we are investingheavily in making the app better
and better, and there's goingto be a ton of exciting shit
happening between kind of Juneand December of this year end of
this year, uh which we'll seethe app just step up leaps and
(16:46):
bounds in terms of how it works,as well as the program.
So there it is, folks.
Fuck yeah, yeah, if you want to, um, yeah, there's a link for
the Adele program.
But if you, if you're hearingthis, and you want to know where
you can purchase thoseindividual programs, you go to
our website bulletproof forbjjcom, go to the shop and there
(17:07):
they are.
Yeah, they'll be available.
Get on board.
Fuck yeah, let's go, let's go.
