Speaker 1 (00:07):
A good martial artist does not become tense, but
ready.
Essentially, at this point thefight is over, so you pretty
much flow with the goal.
Who is worthy to be trustedwith the secret to limitless
power?
I'm ready, I'm going to leglock camp.

(00:34):
I'm going to Melbourne and I'mgoing to hang out with the
Polish boys.
I'm going to hang out withMateusz Straczynski, Straczynski
, straczynski, hang out withMateusz Szczecinski, szczecinski
, szczecinski, so his last nameimplies that his family is from
Szczecin, which is the home cityof my wife, szczecin and he's,
which is in the far, far west ofPoland, it's an hour and a bit

(00:56):
from Berlin.
And also his coach, camilleWilk, who's also a beast leg
locker, and they're doing it.
They're doing it at AbsoluteMMA in Melbourne.
And guess who else is going tobe there?
Joseph Chen oh yeah, might haveheard of him.
And obviously Lockie and Leviand all the other bad mofos

(01:19):
going to be there, mikhail, like, it's great.
And so I'm super excitedbecause it's three days, it's a,
it's a two a day over threedays, kind of thing.
Poland seems to have a very, seems to punch above its weight,
I mean actually, no, it's kindof silly because their
population be much larger thanours.
No, I don't not necessarilylike poland's relatively,

(01:42):
relatively small compared therest of europe, right, in terms
of landmass, there were times inhistory but their population,
sure, it's more than they tookover the whole map.
Like you know, these fuckingtiny european countries have a
hundred million people.
We've got this huge countrylike 25 million people.
Yeah, and, and the thing is thetruth is I don't, we should, I
should have googled that.
I don't know the population ofpol.

(02:03):
My wife will kill me right now.
Chuck it in, chuck it in, okay, but anyway, seems to be like a
lot of really high level Polishgrapplers.
Yeah, I mean, adam Wazinskicomes from Poland.
He's Polish, right?
Yes, he's a multiple timechampion now.
Yeah, he seems to win a bunchof shit.
Yeah, man, we, yeah man.

(02:35):
We met him at the ADCC in 2019,him and his partner, and he just
looked like a porn star, because he didn't have the full
beard, he just had the mustacheand the long blonde hair.
He just looked like a 70s boy.
He's such a lovely guy.
He, um, at world's no gi.
He's a brown belt and he trainsfrom gorilla.
Gorilla MMA, uh, which is inWarsaw.
I've been to their gym.
Um, the gentlemen's.
The young gentleman's nameescapes me.
I'm finding it now oh, pavelJavorski.

(02:57):
He's a beast.
Yeah, wow, uh and so, uh, andso why are these guys doing a
Leglock camp at Absolute, likewhat's the connect?
They did a Leglock camp withOwen Flanagan as well.
They did one in Europe, I don'tknow.
They're just on a bit of a tour, I believe, and they obviously
got some good shit.
They got some great shit.
And I think the great thingabout Lockie is, even though he

(03:18):
is really good at Leglocks, he'slike well, what you guys
working on?
Because they, oh right, he beatLevi in Polaris.
He's the Polaris champ, right, and so it's like what a great
way for Levi to get better, toget that guy in and for them to

(03:39):
have leg lock battles, yeahRight.
Also, joseph Chen will be there.
Now some people say they didn'tgive Joseph enough rest when
Levi beat Joseph.
Yeah, so they're saying maybeJoseph Chen got unfairly done by
when did Levi beat him AtPolaris?
They had like a tournamentthing.
Yeah, okay.
And they're saying that, yeah, maybe he wasn't rested enough

(04:01):
and Levi got his back and it waskind of all over him.
Levi was rested, joseph was not.
But I think what's great aboutgetting so many good people
together is you just get a crazyfusion of learning, like you
know, provided everyone's opento sharing.
We've seen J-Rod training withTynan Dalpera.
I recently saw Lucas Lepretraining with Tynan Dalpera.

(04:25):
Is Lepre still in there doingthe thing?
No, he's retired, but you couldprobably see him pop out for a
super fight or something thegreatest middleweight with one
of the greatest lightweights ofall time and have them sparring
together.
It's crazy.
It'd be awesome to see Lepre dolike a who's number one or some
shit.
Yeah, for sure, and what I?
I saw the opportunity and I'mlike these guys are the absolute

(04:48):
best at what they do in theworld.
Three days with these guys, just two days.
I actually I pick up a lot fromthat.
I think the benefit, the reasonwhy I wanted to talk about this,
is and I think people have beenchanging the format of a
seminar Now I've talked shitabout seminars in the past.
I think we both said that it'shard to gain real insight from
just two hours with a worldchampion, cause they might just

(05:10):
be showing some some stuff thatyou're like oh, this isn't
relevant to me, I don't knowwhat this is.
And you meet them.
You take the photo, like when Iwent to the Lucas Lepre seminar
, well, it was fucking sick, butI remember nothing, nothing,
and at the time I was like I'mhaving a real hard time with
this.
But Lucas has a very slowcadence as well.
He's a very, but also he's sofucking high level in the game

(05:33):
that you're like there was like37 steps, yes, to this part,
every little grip, and yeah,it's so perfect.
But yeah, yeah, that's right, wehave been critical because it,
because it is well, it's a bigpart of the jujitsu economy that
um, jujitsu um pros make moneyoff a seminar tour.
Yeah, especially if you justwant a big championship, right,

(05:53):
yeah, especially if you just wona big championship, right, yeah
, that's how you're going tomake your money for the year.
You can do 20 seminars, howevermany thousands of dollars per
seminar.
That's how you get your money.
Kind of like a recording artist, you don't necessarily make
money off the album, you makemoney off the tour.
But the question is, howeffective is it as a learning
tool?
What I really liked about thissetup is it's a morning session
and an evening session, threedays.

(06:15):
Yeah, that's good.
And so, yeah, there's rolling, there's specific training and
you're getting input from a fewdifferent people and with a lot
of high level people on the mat.
I'm fucking pumped for it.
Yeah, that'd be sick.
I got a secret.
You know what that secret is?
It's this, my friends, it'selectrolytes.
Now you might be drinking waterand you're like, but it's not

(06:35):
working.
Look, the key to hydration isactually electrolytes.
What are they?
They are salts that keep thewater in your muscles so you can
use them when you're rolling.
You know who's got electrolytes?
Sodium, the sponsor of today'sshow, sodiicomau.
This is the spot where you canget the most delicious drinking

(06:57):
salts, the perfect blend ofsodium, potassium and magnesium.
And you know what?
If you use the codeBULLETPROOF15, you get 15% off.
That way you can actually behydrated, you can roll better
and feel better.
Get some today, hopefully.
You know what.
What like for my learning styleand I think you're better.

(07:17):
Like you know, you are anencyclopedia when it comes to
jiu-jitsu, but for my learningstyle, I would like if I'll do
morning and evening for threedays, I would almost like to
cover only like the same thing, one or maybe two things.
So it's like hey, for the firstthree sessions, we're just
doing this.
Yeah, and so you just get thesecond more reps, third session
more.
You know, I love that idea.

(07:38):
I always believe that less ismore.
Yeah, you know, yeah, I thinkand I I think this probably
comes from coaching experience, because you've said this before
um, you mentioned this when you,I think you, did the range of
strength seminar that what youalso liked about it was that he
didn't over coach.
I think you, you, that was likea strong thing.

(08:00):
I remember from that that youlike that he allows people to
try a thing before he even said, you know, like cause I might do
it really well, so he doesn'tneed to say anything, and then
he can kind of observe people'ssuccess and failure and go from
there.
And and I think, if you've beenin the coaching game for a
while, like just detailing andexplaining to the nth degree
doesn't guarantee that theperson's going to do it better.

(08:23):
Like letting people try thething and fuck up is a really
good way to then guide them.
Yeah, but for me, I just want toroll with those motherfuckers.
I just want to roll, josephChen, so I can be like yeah,
okay, here's the truth, or I'mmaking a comeback.
Folks, well, I totally am.
I'm so back, but no, I want tofeel, because I've observed

(08:46):
these guys on the internet LikeGod, they look like savages,
right, but I just for me,there's some truth in rolling a
person that you can learn a lotfrom.
Are they really aggressive, orare they really calm, or you
know how smooth are theirtransitions for you to just go,
it really does translate to youunderstanding them as a jujitsu
person, and so that's what I'mexcited for, as much as the

(09:09):
learning.
I want to hang out with thosesuper killers and just just
fucking copper feel.
I want to see you gethighlighted.
I'm going to be so highlighted, bro joseph chen media team,
please highlight thismotherfucker.
No, it'll be easy.
If man, if kid dale's still intown, I will be memed hard.
Oh, he's been.
He's been in melbourne, he'sbeen at absolute training a bit,

(09:29):
which is cool, which is nice, like kid's a.
And so Kit is the king of justcatching people in bad moments,
like Craig definitely modeledhimself on Kit, because Kit just
always just would just catch ina bad moment and keep it and
then make a meme out of you.
This is before Instagram, youknow, but no, it's going to be
exciting.

(09:49):
I'm excited to report back.
So, leglock Camp, if you'reinterested, if you're in
Australia or you're in Melbourne, you're thinking about it, I
will be there.
Come watch me get highlightreeled by the best.
When is it?
It is on May 3rd, 4th and 5th.
I believe it's the firstweekend in May.
How about that?
Yeah, I'm pumped for it Like Ihaven't done a jiu-jitsu camp or

(10:11):
seminar for ages.
You know, it seems like a goodpoint for me to mention I'm
actually doing a three-dayworkshop myself next month.
Ooh, do tell A Japanese joinery.
Oh, totally unrelated, I'mgoing to learn how to make a box
.
Ooh, with, like handmade doveor you know, people are just

(10:32):
like what the fuck?
The engagement just drops, youknow.
So in Japanese joinery theyhave a type of joint called
splicing joints, which I toldyou about, where they connect
shorter lengths of timber tomake a longer length.
Yeah, which we don't reallyhave a name for that in Western
joinery, because we just use alonger piece of timber, right,
right, Whereas they would I wantto really waste exactly bits,

(10:52):
yeah, and so they're.
They're the really intricatejoints of, because you're trying
to connect two beams to make astructure that's still strong.
So they've got these really funjoints, right, as you've seen,
we share them with each otherall the time.
Yeah, it's mad.
So the box the guy's gonnateach to make a box using those
joints, oh, like a bit of a testtester.
Well, yeah, and so it's like alot of high level mark, like

(11:13):
marking and measuring andcutting and whatnot Precision,
yeah, but you, but it's, youknow, still like a nice little
fucking box for your pen andpencil or whatever.
Nah, it's so cool.
I'll report back, guys.
Yeah, yeah, I'm going to leglock Joey and he's going to give
me a gift of a box.
Happy days.
But no, I'm keen to report back.
We'll do an episode about thejoinery.

(11:33):
I'll do an episode about thelack of joint integrity that I
will now suffer, but no, I'mpumped for it.
It's good to be back.
I'm so back That'd be sick, fuck yeah, it must be nice for
you two to catch up with Lockie.
Yeah, I'm going to have a talkto him about the Giles trials oh

(11:55):
yeah, which is exciting andmore about Team Australia.
So we'll get some insight fromthat.
Fuck yeah, fuck yeah.
There it is, folks, choo you.
