Meet Steph Tran, also known as STETRA, the incredibly talented artist and DJ who knows how to make you feel the music. As the co-founder of Technorotica, she's on a mission to nurture the underground dance music culture in Dallas, creating unforgettable experiences where art, music, and community blend together.
2023 Bio:
"Growing up, STETRA (Steph Tran) gravitated towards creating art in various mediums. Heavily influenced by her family's love for all music spanning from Disco, New Wave, Funk, R&B, Soul, Hip Hop and House - Steph was inspired to explore the art of creating emotions with sound. Recognized for her eclectic sets, her "ENMOTION // Daybreak and Nocturnal” series takes the listener on a genre fluid journey of Lo Fi, Afro, Funk, and Soul to threading the different sub genres of House, Disco, Deep Tech, Techno and Minimal. Soulful vocals overlaid on swinging, seductive bass lines with an emphasis on vibe and setting have a heavy influence on STETRA’s mixing style that has caught the attention of music aficionados and artists alike. With an inaugural track release on Little Festival Records with Faucon for the Ikinasai EP, STETRA looks forward to continue pushing her artistry.
The list of artists she has been able to share the stage with include: Peggy Gou, BLOND:ISH, Dragos Ilici, Monolink, Nora En Pure, Jesse Calosso, Sebastian Ledher, Michelle, Dead-Tones, Anden, Jeremy Olander, Eli & Fur, One of Them, Stacey Pullen, The Soul Brothers, Matt Lange, Lee K, Marbs, Walker & Royce, Madam X, Noir, and Treasure Fingers.
In 2013, Steph moved to Dallas, TX where she became heavily involved in the nightlife industry with groups such as Socium Project, Laced Mentality, and Ronin Entertainment. In April of 2017, STETRA joined the founding partners of a local Dallas collective (LOLO) to break ground on new talent and curate House and Techno shows throughout the Texas region until the collective came to a close in November of 2018. Post LOLO in late 2018, her and business partner, Michael Cole founded and launched Technorotica.
Technorotica was founded on a common love of exploring the deep, provocative side of art, music, and freedom of self-expression in unique and intimate settings. Intentionally placing artistry, creativity, community, and inclusivity at its heart, Technorotica’s goal is to help grow and evolve underground dance music culture in Dallas. The collective emphasizes a groove-forward sound dipping into all shades of House and Techno, enticing listeners to be immersed in the groove. Paired with premium production that will satisfy fellow creatives even the most particular of audiophiles."
