(00:06):
Oh, that was a very rough end. Yeah.
Welcome aboard, bus one. We're on our way to Atlanta, GA
for the South regional of our annual March Madness trivia
tournament. And we've got some time to kill.
Let's play some trivia. P62 Haley from Chester Springs,

(00:27):
PA We have our four seed. Cameron.
Yeah, yeah. He's like 6-1 on a good day.
Hailing from. Bloomington, IN.
We have our three seed, he's 66.Sopping wet, hailing from
Indianapolis, IN. We have our two seed, John 44,

(00:51):
He's 511 Go offshore King hailing from Westfield, IN.
We have our onesie. Cooper, we're like pooper.
I look like this 664 since when I don't.
Know, I like how that sounded like I'm sopping wet, right?
Now we can't. You gotta.

(01:12):
Have the height advantage. John, do you need a towel?
Pure, kind of dry. This is.
This is DRY. Both in audio and visual media
for audio listeners, John is socking.
Wet. Step down the shower fully
clothed and is now. On the court.
Welcome. Back to our bus 1 March Madness
trivia attorney. We've got 4 new contestants

(01:32):
ready to go head to head to headto head for the South Regional
of our March Madness style bracket.
Only the top two performers in today's contest will move on to
the Final Four next week. But don't worry, today's episode
isn't all about basketball. In fact, I'm not sure what it's
about yet. That's because for this year's
tourney, the contestants have also provided the topics and

(01:55):
trivia questions. Here's how it works.
Every player has written 4 questions on a mini topic of
their choice. Each question, one player will
pose a prepared multiple choice trivia question to the other
three players. The first one to buzz in with
the right answer scores a field goal of two points.
Think you know the answer without the multiple choice.

(02:17):
Then you can. Take a long shot, answer for
three points, but be careful if you miss a three pointer, your
airball shot will cost you -1 point for humiliation if no one
is correct. Even with the multiple choice,
that's good defense, which givesthe question asker an advantage

(02:38):
for writing such a tough question.
There will be 4 quarters with each player getting a chance to
be the question asker 4 times, but we'll rotate the question
asker within the quarters to keep the scoring opportunities
fair. As the referee, I'll be keeping
a close eye to make sure there'sno funny business on the court.
You have more whistle. Also, there'll be no no capping

(03:04):
on the court. No cap.
OK, first and second highest points on the board at the end.
We'll win the trip to the Final Four next week where they were
compete for the title March Madness.
Where is that? Where's that boy?
We're not being held. Where are they doing?
How do you wanna go, John you. Wanna go San Antonio?
Where are you? Holding them, we'll see if I'm

(03:25):
San. Antonio.
Cameron, I'll let you know when we figure out who's going.
Alright. Any questions?
If you, it's me and you, you want a carpool.
Yeah, we can carpool. Cool thing.
No, actually I have 4 questions,Alec.
Oh my God, that's our time. Thanks for writing.

(03:46):
See. You next time.
So, so how many points? We will.
We will start off with the firstquarter.
Cameron as the four seed. You have the honor of starting
us off, please. Tell us.
What is your topic you have prepared for the other?
Today my topic is cooking. Cooking.

(04:09):
Ivan Episode. Shut up, Cooper.
He wanted. Cooking.
Cooking This time cooking cookeddifferent.
More. More like let him cook, yeah?
Yeah, yeah, yeah. This is the This is my Cooking
trivia, my mini Triv as it's called.
His mini Triv. As they say, a mini.
Triv wow you. Already hear a mini triv?

(04:29):
Cameron or Gen. Alpha correspondent?
That's. Right Aiden?
He's so hip with the times. Go for it is.
That your is that you running meinto me asking the first
question, Alec? Yep, it's.
Here, let me do the tip off. I was just like.
Sitting here in my guts. Here we go.
Everyone else. All right.
Thanks, Alec. Hello, team.

(04:50):
My first question is gonna be about nuts.
Nuts which? Wait.
Hold on, just bear with. Me.
Let him. Cook it.
Which of the following nuts is used to make marzipan?
A cashews, B almonds, D walnuts,or C pistachios?

(05:20):
That's John. Oh, I thought Aiden showed up
first. Yeah, I showed up first too, I
feel like. It doesn't matter.
Get. Ready.
I'm going to say almonds, Cameron.
John, that is correct. Whoa.
That carpooling opportunity looks better and better.
Thanks, Cam. That was a bad calling.
The refs, everyone. Zombie does it first.

(05:41):
What is Marzipan? Ref.
That's a fact. That's a great question, Alex.
I'm not 100. Percent sure.
You know that, John. Do you know?
It's like a is. Is it like a whip?
Yeah, it's like a whip. It's Mars.
It's like. A whip.
It's like a whip. Yeah.
Thank. And John, that's points for you
for the nut juice. Thank you, Cameron.

(06:03):
Good job, John. Alright, who's that?
Yeah, OK, great Aiden's. Next.
Alright, guys. Well.
It. Is it is March Madness, which
apparently we've done on the rights too, but I really thought
I'd lean into the second part ofthat, the madness X aspect,
cause today's topic is the insanity defense in.
Criminal, that same thing, but Idid I know that's I was worried.

(06:28):
I was worried. That's awesome.
But our category is of the insanity that we gotta do the
madness. Yeah, exactly.
Question. Ohh.
You've transitioned from where Ilast met you at, which was you
were gonna write 4 questions on the big.
Bad Sealons, big bad Beatles, more accessible.

(06:49):
It's like Power Rangers spin off.
It's not like great Beetleborgs.Yeah, they're about they're bug,
bug inspired robots. But we're talking about the
insanity defense here, gang. OK, so question one.
The insanity defense is a criminal defense that claims
that the defendant should not beheld responsible for a crime due
to their mental state. A major pillar of this defense

(07:11):
is the lack of proof for men's Rea, an important element in
criminal law. What does men's Rea mean?
Can you spell it? Nobody wants to go for it I.
Can't spell a. Real man or the prosecution's
ability to correctly. ID The defendant.
B Guilty mind or the defendant'sintent to commit a crime.

(07:33):
C King over oneself or the defendant's control over their
own actions, or D True mind or the defendant's awareness.
We have a buzz in OK. Cooper.
I believe it's the control over one's own mind.
One CC. That's incorrect, Cooper.

(07:54):
All right, Aiden, lead me in. John, you're up, John.
I'm. Gonna I'm gonna go with.
I'm gonna go with D. True Mind, Aiden.
John, that is also incorrect, Cameron.
What did Cooper? What did Cooper guess?
I don't think you could say OK. C&D between.
C&D. Can you repeat A&B for me?
Real man or guilty mind? Men's Rea.

(08:18):
I'm gonna you know what? I'm going real man, Aiden.
Camera that's also. Incorrect.
That's good defense, baby. Men's Rea.
Guilty mind men from like mentalor men like dementia and then
Rea man guilt. From nature.
Men's Rea is is yeah, the intentto commit a crime paired with

(08:38):
Actus Reyes, which is the actualaction, but insanity seeks to
prove that the defendant had no intention to commit their crime
due to their mental state. No more spoilers for the next
questions. Yeah, yeah, OK.
I don't want to hear too much about the insanity defense
because. I'm sure there's not too.
Sanity. Don't.
Worry, don't worry, we got. This is going.
To come in. Later.

(08:59):
I can't imagine it's an overflowing cup of questions.
But that's that's no points. That's.
Complete insanity. More than you think.
Cooper. That's Cameron.
That is close display. Next question.
Never mind, all righty, I take it back.
Well. Aiden boxed out all of his
opponents, no points for them, but it is now John's turn to do

(09:23):
his thing. I'm supposed.
To do let's. Hear All right, folks.
Well, boys. It's it's March right now, but
we're dangerously close to April, and you know what that
means? Four days right around the
corner. So more tree questions.
I am running out of tree questions, but I could whip up 4
for this. So we're not doing an Arbor Day

(09:44):
episode this year. We are doing 4 tree questions. 4
tree questions. Thanks Cameron for stealing my
bit of doing a past episode twice before getting here.
But OK. Question #1 apples.
Those come from trees. Apples are everywhere in our
culture, from tech companies to foundational myths.
For example, the Trojan War is story to begun with a golden

(10:05):
apple bearing the inscription for the fairest.
Paris. The Prince of Troy is selected
by Zeus to settle an argument between several goddesses about
who should get the apple. Naturally, this devolves into
each goddess bribing Paris with one goddess eventually winning
out. Which goddess ultimately
receives the apple? I'm going for a three John.
Go for a three, Cameron. Who do you think gets it?

(10:27):
In Greek mythology. And and that that's the only one
I'm aware of. Perfect.
Hera, that is incorrect, Cameron.
I'm sorry you're so humiliated. You lost the point if.
Cameron does 2 of. Those in a row, do I get a free
French fry? Moving on.

(10:49):
He's thinking about it. I know.
Ha, ha. That's very Mackey Arena
specific. OK, so here's some multiple
choice, all right? A, Hestia, the goddess, the
goddess of the hearth. B Athena, the goddess of war.
C fetus, water nymph and the mother of Achilles.
Or D Aphrodite, the goddess of love.
Sure, it's Sky era. Aiden.

(11:11):
Well, so I. Think Aphrodite gets pissed that
it wasn't given to Aphrodite if I remember the myth correctly.
So I'll say Athena. I'll say he's.
Like smart babes, Athena is alsoincorrect.
Oh, you. Suck Aiden So.
There was the water nymph and Heschia.
And Aphrodite. And Aphrodite.

(11:32):
And also Athena again if you want to guess Athena again.
Or maybe it's a trick, Maybe it's.
A test of wisdom. Pick.
Pick another. One that's not on this list, I I
just know Aphrodite's in the story, so I'll say Aphrodite.
Cooper that would be correct are.
You kidding me? That's two points to you.
Yeah, classic Aiden. I thought it was Helen of Trope.

(11:54):
Big L loser. The way Aphrodite.
The way Aphrodite bribes Paris is by saying, I'll give you the
most beautiful mortal woman alive, which is Helen of Troy,
who's married to Metalias. And then it kicks off the whole,
the whole, you know, awkward Caesar Troy.
Yeah. The the awkward little C Awkward
little C. Yeah, you know, a little, a

(12:14):
little, whatever. I.
Mean so this. This first round, these are all
worth one point, right? Ref.
No, every question is A2 pointerunless you shoot a shot without
multiple choice and then it's a 3 pointer.
Don't you watch? Basketball dummy No could.
We watch this first half. Do the first half buckets not
count less than the second-half?Buckets.

(12:38):
As far as I know, somebody doesn't know Ball.
All right, I just got a 2. OK.
I've scored two. Ball.
And with that, it is Cooper's turn to ask his question and
introduce his mini triv. I did a mini triv.
I wrote a little intro to my theme of that song.
Oh. Shit.

(12:59):
Sure, it's his walk. Out sing a song.
Sing a song. No, no, no, no.
It's his walk out. Song a drop a beat for Cooper.
All right at this time of year. Coopers.
Questions. Give me, give me, give me the
topic because I want to answer all right.

(13:22):
At this time of year, we always pay homage to the big things
that bring us the event of MarchMadness.
We think of basketball and JamesNaismith.
We think of the wide range of UScolleges in the NCAA that brings
them together. We think of the great month of
March and it's incredible ability to bring us together.
But without one thing, this would all be chaos.

(13:44):
Without the beauty of the tournament bracket, we would be
left with 68 teams all unsure onhow to prove themselves.
Sure, we could have a 68 way game of basketball, a circle
lined with 68 hoops and yeah, that would be cool, but it'd be
hard to follow and obviously thegame would be way more defense
focused, which is boring. We all know that the most

(14:06):
exciting part of basketball is when someone gets on a hot
streak, not just a tall guy being tall and blocking shots.
I mean where? I mean and don't even don't even
bring up horse racing jockeys because we all know the horse is
the athlete there and you betterbelieve big horse racing would

(14:27):
replace those guys with Arduino robots if they were are allowed.
Anyway, my questions are about the concept.
Of wow the. Concept of tournaments.
The concept of tournaments. To.
Turn your anyway. I was ready for like.

(14:47):
Here's 4 questions on the Juliancalendar.
Anyway, what did you give up? To question number one, I give
up the basketball. OK, the first tournaments were
medieval games, most famously jousting.
Which of the falling would not give you the win in a jousting
match? A Shattering your Lance while

(15:11):
hitting the opponent. B Knocking an opponent off their
horse. C Knocking an opponents horse
over or D. We have a buzz from Cameron.
I watched that one show on The History Channel for a little
while, the modern day jousting show.
I don't think anything the horsecounts for anything Cooper.
That is correct. You do not win because that is

(15:33):
seen as a failure of the horse, not of the man.
And we all know the horses. Or it seems like a failure of a.
Man, you know, in jousting we'd easily replace those guys with
Arduino robots A controlled. Robot.
That's right. We could if we could bro.
Actually robot. Jousting sounds awesome.
Robot jousting. Robot jousting.
I mean. What do you think we.
Shouldn't replace the robots, weshould replace the horses with

(15:55):
Arduin? Yeah, that's what I yeah, yeah.
Yeah, they're also. Yeah, they all could be robots.
Every robots all around. People think about it.
Jousting is the inverse of horseracing because the human is the
the athlete instead of the horse.
Wow. And they?
Run at each other. They're kind of like.
Positioning. You're just positioning stuff
and. Also hit someone.

(16:16):
You're more like a. Tech Josh thing is harder than
just positioning a stick. Yeah, it's hard.
Yeah. Cameron size.
You don't even watch. OK, I watch the.
Night's Tale with Heath Ledger, and it looks like you're
positioning that stick. I've been to the Ren fair.
Anyways, Cameron gets two pointswith that, which means he is not
negative anymore. And that with that little buzzer

(16:40):
beater brings us to the end of the first quarter.
Cameron now has one point on theboard.
John has 2, Cooper has two and Aiden is yet to get on the.
Ball 0. My offensive guy for that.
Advantage of good defense. It's a good.
Defense. Everyone knows good defense

(17:00):
doesn't get you the. Win though.
Yeah, no. We've got plenty of game left
and with that we're into the second quarter where it's back
to Cameron to ask us. A.
Cooking mini triv. It's going.
To be a. Team, team.
I'm going to be talking about one of my favorites, Amir Poi.
What is that? It was in the.

(17:21):
That's a great question, John. I'm about to ask you what team?
Which of the following is not a part of a standard Amir Poi?
OK. Hey, is this French?
Onion, can you spell that? Mirepoix.
Not even a little John, A onion,B celery, C carrot or D.

(17:45):
We have a buzz. From.
Potato. This was a question on the
cooking episode. Full full out Bitch asked us to
name the things that are mirepoix and it's onion, celery,
and carrots. I didn't know what it was then
either. That's correct.
Aiden on the board, baby. What's memory?
I remember previous episodes so.Then.

(18:09):
I do not remember that one, to be fair.
Your plot. It's like, just like broth.
It's a base. You just put in a lot of dishes.
Like pie. It's like a Roux.
The Holy Trinity like onion. Carrots and it's like a Roux
it's. Like a Roux?
No, it's not like a Roux. It's.
Just like in your base. It's like roof.
Like most foods that you you would cook in a pan, you can put

(18:30):
Amir Bois as a. Part of it those in there too.
Yeah, it's just, it's OK. Onion, carrot and celery.
It's just. A it.
Just tastes good. It just tastes a.
Whole the Trinity of cooking, the mere Bois which.
Of the following. Tastes good guys.
My right talent on this episode is coming up with really quick

(18:51):
Bubba Bubba basketball lyrics. I'm done now.
Going to get. Copyright.
Stricken. Eggs.
Just wanted to make sure. Thank you, Cameron.
Good job. Thank you.
Cameron for being done. Also good job to Aiden for
scoring and your reward is that it's your turn to ask a question
to. The points.
Hey guys, good luck defending onthis one.

(19:12):
So we're doing the insanity defense again.
The insanity defense is pretty flashy, right?
We see it dramatized a lot in fiction.
Comes up all the high profile cases.
You pay attention to them. But in real life, the large
burden of proof required for itssuccess leads to it being used
sparingly. What is the success rate of the

(19:33):
insanity defence? And it is multiple choice even
though it's numbers so. Give me the match.
Does anyone want to just guess? I'll give you a, I'll give you a
2% swing in either direction if you just want to guess.
Only two 3 point. Shots OK, so when you mean
percentage, it's like how often is successful when you.
How often is it successful? OK.

(19:54):
A 1%, B 26%, C 49 percent or D 90%.
Cooper, Go Hoop. I'm going 1%.
That's incorrect, Cooper. I'm sorry, no, these all are
like numbers from other statistics, but yeah, well.
Cameron Well, well, well. Yes, I, I, yeah, these are all

(20:18):
numbers. I didn't see it.
I'll I'll get. Into what I mean cameras, Yeah,
numbers are. That's the numbers are someone.
You made-up that number. I know you did.
I made-up all these numbers. Or 70.
Five, I'm gonna go B, 26%. That is correct.
Camera 26% success rate, 26% of our our successful they're used

(20:39):
in 1% of cases. So that's where the 1% comes for
there you try it 1% of the time.Out of that 1%, it's only 26 and
out of that 2690% of those successful defendants have been
previously diagnosed with a mental illness.
So they're like actually insane.Yeah, diagnosed.
But yeah, that's, that's all. That's no camera, just.
Because someone has a mental illness does not mean that they

(21:01):
are insane. Exactly.
It's one be easier like legal when we get to legal
definitions, things kind of blura little bit.
Yeah, there's a big difference between like the medical.
Your Honor, I. Didn't do it because I have ADD.
I'm crazy. See, that probably wouldn't fly
'cause that doesn't affect how you do.
Reality. What's your own?
Room. I can't remember what I went
into the room for. That's how I I got in this crazy

(21:24):
situation where I killed. So I knew what the.
Question was again you're. Three people, Cameron scores A2
pointer. Let's just imagine it was a a
fadeaway jumper because that's. Everybody close your eyes and
rotate Cameron in your mind. Which just imagine as Steph,
it's like it's a it's a photo. You know what, Steph?

(21:47):
Curry looks like Now imagine me with my my face on Steph Curry
Currys body. That's the same thing.
Dig it. Now we have to edit that Frick.
OK, John, it's your turn to ask this question about trees.
This is my turn to ask this question about trees, A time
that comes once a year #2 In thenovella The Little Prince, the
titular asteroid dwelling Princeconstantly asks the narrator to

(22:10):
draw him a picture of a lamb. When asked why, the Prince
explains that he wants somethingthat could eat away at the
baobab trees growing on his asteroid.
Why is the Little Prince concerned about these baobab
trees? Anybody know off the top of your
head? This is the time when I learned
what a baobab tree was was. Reading this book, this would be

(22:31):
when you would do that. All right, here are your
options. A their roots will cause the
asteroid to break apart if they grow too densely.
B the trees will end up growing too close together, blocking the
Starlight the little Prince needs to survive.
C they'll soak up all of the water on the asteroid.
Or D the Little Prince just doesn't like the way these trees

(22:52):
look. I think it's the.
Part 1 I think it's a. Their roots will cause the
asteroid to break apart. Yeah, they get and then it makes
it rupture. Yeah.
Not good. Bad.
I remember that for a little guyon an asteroid.
Not good. Based on anything real or that's
just what they put. Depending on depending on who
you ask, it's based off of Nazis.

(23:12):
So it's maybe about it's a metaphor.
What people think that they might be a metaphor for Nazism.
Yeah, I. Think the Little Prince is based
off of Rosalina from Maya Galaxy.
Yeah, it's actually when that's his mother's.
Secret Life of Arietti. It's actually based on the real
experiences of this space boy. I met a little space boy and.

(23:33):
This is what happened. Not great.
Take if I find out they're not. If there are Nazis on my
asteroid, I'm kicking them off. I wouldn't walk that there
either. You got to get the.
Lamb to eat that, yeah. The things I hate in No.
Particular order baio bad trees. It's not.
And the Dutch? Whoa, yeah.
OK And Aiden scored two points in our basketball game.

(23:56):
That can be a dunk. That can be a dunk, Sure.
Yeah, it's got a dunk. Good.
Job Aiden it was. Right, aid away.
Come on bro, that's obviously taunting.
Call that both ways. Exactly, I didn't see it.
It's no call. From me. close your eyes.
Real. Quick, just no call.
Did you buy that shirt for theseepisodes?

(24:17):
No, this is white duct tape. Are zebras white duct tape on a
Black Horse or black? That's actually white on a White
Horse. Pretty.
Convincing. It's really convincing.
That's a great job. That's pretty good.
Let's give Alec a point. I knew that I would get 3
episodes out of it, so I I worked kind of hard on it.
Cooper, can you ask us about trip tournaments in general?

(24:39):
Yes, tournament question #2 Tournaments are pretty.
Nice. For determining a winner.
But which of the following sports doesn't use a tournament
for deciding the winner in like the Championship A the World

(25:00):
Chess Championship, B the RocketLeague Championship Series C
World Curling Championship or D World Rowing Championship?
Cameron. I'm going with Rowing Cooper.
Rowing is not correct, really, Ifigured.
It'd be one big race. They use 30A tournament system.

(25:24):
Wow, they do have a what? Do they know is it?
Just like a bunch. Of it is like, I think that's
one of those that's like a triple elimination kind of
thing. So there's a lot of lot of
nuances to it, but it is a tournament system for
determining the winner. Very interesting.
That is that's and that's a coolmini triv.
Mini triv. A little mini triv within a
answer is a. Mini triv just like a what?

(25:45):
It's just that like a one question?
Or is it like a small smaller set of questions?
Microtriv is A1. Question Microtriv A.
Picotriv if you want a macros. Yeah.
Cooper, I'm going to say curling.
Curling is also not correct. So you just.
Got Aiden, Got a curling. Also uses a bracket system.

(26:06):
Yeah, but rowing made sense. Aiden, 50505050.
I have no clue about the Rocket League proceed whatsoever, but I
think for chess it's not necessarily like a term like
you. They do do tournaments, but
isn't it all about your ELO? And then once you get high
enough you get to like beat the previous winner or something?
So I'll say chess. Aiden, that is correct.

(26:28):
Chess uses a channel system where there's tournaments to be
able to like qualify, but the once you're like the champion,
you stay the champion until you're challenged and beaten.
Similar to pro boxing. Pro box catching butter chess is
like. Similar to proboscis, yeah.
Well, Aiden does another dunk onthat one, you guys, and he is.

(26:53):
In the lead. At halftime, it is halftime.
Cooper and John still at 2, Cameron at 3 and Aiden with six
points. Crazy.
We have to stop them. We have to.
We get let's get away with this,OK?
But first we have to go to the halftime show.
Halftime. Get Rachel in here with a

(27:15):
mustache. And that does it for another
half of March Madness Trivia here on Bus 1.
Trivia Rich, what are you seeingout there?
Well, Al, I'm seeing some well written questions, some
thoughtful answers all around. Some really good trivia
happening tonight. Couldn't agree more.
And that's what we love to see here in March is people

(27:35):
answering trivia questions. Speaking of which, we opposed
you, the audience, a question last week.
We wanted to know who could guess the closest answer to the
weight of a big concrete ball outside of a target.
That's right Al, and those ballsare pretty heavy, weighing in at
around 1200 lbs. Wow.
Well. Nelly.
Well, looking back at the footage here, it seems crazy.

(27:58):
Rode in with 301 kilograms, which is about 663 lbs.
But what's this Mr. NY Lt. from out of nowhere with the guess of
1000 lbs officially coming the closest to the correct answer?
So true. Rich he he's just earned himself

(28:19):
yet another point this week. However, I'm wondering who in
our audience knows the most about the Woman's Tournament
this year. The first one to ride in with
the four teams in the Woman's Final Four this year will earn
themselves a point. Again, what are the four teams
in the final four of the 2025 women's tourney?
Write your answers in the comments on Spotify, YouTube or

(28:39):
Instagram for a chance at earning a point.
And maybe while you're at it, give us a little love with a
like subscribe or a five star rating on your podcast.
Player Well, I think those boys are getting ready to head back
out onto the court, so let's getback to March madness S only on.
One trivia Thanks, Rich. We're back from that time show

(29:03):
wherever we just. Were.
Hope, hope you get that audiencequestion.
It's the third quarter here in the South regional of our March
Madness tourney. Aiden has taken the lead, but
let's see where things go from here.
Cameron is once again tasked with asking us a cooking
question. What up team, What's up?

(29:25):
I'm not on your team. I think it's great that he
starts every question off that way.
I think that's nice and there's a feeling so welcoming.
Environment hands in. Thanks, Hands.
Hands in. All right.
Team question kind of ripping off of John's hating the Dutch
comment earlier potentially. Great.
I'm glad we could call back to that.

(29:46):
That's a lie, I talked. Talked about that more.
Yeah, I just wanted to point outthat John hates his own people.
I'm not Dutch. Oh, that's super awkward.
Moving on. All right, team, What's the
difference between ice cream andGelato?
Oh. We have a.
We have a three pointer coming in.

(30:06):
One uses milk and the other usesheavy.
Cream. That is incorrect.
Aiden you? Suck.
But Aiden, that was actually going to be B on my list of

(30:27):
multiple choice. So you have narrowed down to the
plane. That's even worse.
That's even worse. That is even worse.
So narrowed down, so narrow. A Gelato and ice cream are the
same, except Gelato is from Italy.
B Whatever the hell, Whatever the hell, Aiden said.
C Gelato has less fat and more air than ice cream, or D Gelato

(30:53):
is made with fruits at times while ice cream is not.
John, I'm. Going to say C Cameron.
John, if you said Gelato has less baton air than ice cream.
You're correct, but. Big UPS, big UPS, big UPS, less
fat, more error challenge. It why?
Is there less fat because I think it might be the I.

(31:14):
Think, let me let me as the ref do.
I think I do do some cursory. Googling if there.
Was not the. AI overview talk to anybody
else. Dear AI, I have to be quick.
Wikipedia doesn't exist for you to the.
Ball. The ball is slowly drifting
towards the goal. It's in slow MO.
All right, I'm going to. Pass.
The AI overview. Wow hero.

(31:36):
Under review Jeffrey Anderson. Both are made with milk, cream
and sugar. Dang, OK.
You can make I think either alsowith heavy cream.
Though ice cream is typically. Fruits perhaps?
Ice cream is typically higher fat content because it has a
higher ratio of cream to milk. Alas.

(31:56):
OK, Also as airier fucking texture.
Cream. I will take it.
I will take it, but I was close.You won't.
You won't take it actually. I'll take the Lashley.
You're 100% wrong, Aiden. John is actually taking those
two boys, no? I'll take the.
Yeah. No, you're definitely taking the
out there. Shatters the glass in Aiden's
face. Give me a.

(32:19):
Bitch with the upper. Mask right now.
Edible. Aiden shatters his ACL.
It's through the skin, ACL. Do you guys know that TCU guy

(32:39):
that got hit in the balls and had to?
Leave the game. Do you remember that?
No, He. Had to go cry for you.
You tried to tell me about this for the skin, you tried to tell
me about this earlier and I still didn't know his.
Balls busted out of his nut sack.
Aiden. After.
Oh, you're recovering in the locker room for 10 minutes.
You wanna hear? About these another.

(33:00):
Question. Great.
Hey guys, the insanity defense sounds pretty good, right?
Because you're not guilty even if you did it.
So how do you use the insanity defense even if you're not
insane? Well, it's easy.
Just say that you used to be insane, but it's all better now.
This tactic, legally referred toas temporary insanity, covers

(33:21):
extenuating circumstances where the defendant is under such
mental stress that they can't beheld responsible for their
actions. Which of the following is NOT an
application for temporary insanity?
I guess I feel like you're kind of constructed these questions
to prevent anybody. That's what I.
Said earlier, Here we go, I'm going to go.
For it, that's what I. Said earlier I was like, I'm

(33:43):
realizing now that I did to which of the followings.
The other I feel like it gets. A lot of things that aren't
what? But here we go.
Yeah. A crimes of passion, B
intoxication, C schizophrenia orD self-defense.
Cooper. I don't think you can use
intoxication as temporary insanity.

(34:06):
Cooper that is incorrect. If it is involuntary
intoxication, then it can be used as as.
Voluntary. Yeah.
Interesting. Interesting.
If. Cameron.
Autonomy. I'm going crime of passion.
Cameron cries of passion is incorrect if that's a big
defense. A big use case of temporary
insanity is, if you like, walk in on someone cheating on.

(34:27):
You and then you alert them. That's a temporary insanity.
Defense, yeah, that's still a fucked up.
Thing to do it is, But if you'reso overwhelmed with emotion you
can claim temporary insanity. John, 5050.
Can you remind me what D was? Self-defense.
Self-defense. Temporary insanity.
For self-defense. I'm going to say self-defense,

(34:48):
Aiden. John, that is correct.
self-defense is covered under different laws.
Schizophrenia can be either a full insanity defense or
temporary insanity if it's like lapses of manic episodes and
stuff like that. But yeah.
Manic episodes is a different thing, but it's still like
unmedicated. Yes, yeah, it's like not to
clone. On this episode, Psychosis.
Psychosis. Yes.

(35:08):
Yeah, that's it. Back to you, John.
Back to me. Again, back to trees.
I love talking about trees. Don't you guys like that?
Trees, We do it every year. Trees are great points.
Points for trees, points for trees.
Every clap for trees. Awesome question.
OK, yes, thank you. Thank you.
Question 3IN Suzanne Collins, The Hunger Games series, the

(35:30):
song, the hanging tree is used as an anthem by the rebellion
against the capital. I'm realizing now that this is a
witch of the following question and I just clowned on it.
So sorry. What happens?
I'm OK with it. In.
The prequel The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, Collins
shows us the incident that inspired the song.
A District 12 coal miner named Arlo Chance is executed by the
state after attempting to bomb the mine to slow production,

(35:52):
accidentally killing three people in the process.
Which of the following characters was not present for
the execution of Arlo Chance, A Coriolanus Snow, B Sajanus
Plinth, C Alma Coin, or D Lucy Gray Baird?
Who was not? Who was not there?
Cameron BB Sajanis Plinth is incorrect.

(36:19):
Aiden, what you got? I'm.
Trying to remember the scene because I know.
Lucy Green movie or read the book.
Get into it afterwards. I just got I.
Just but I'm gonna say you said coin.
Yeah. Yeah, Coin is a District 13
person, so I'll say Coin. That would be correct.
Aiden Eric Coin is the is the president of District 13 in the
original Twilogy, Yeah. Twilogy, Twilogy.

(36:41):
But I don't know to the. Fact that she was there and she
witnessed it. But yeah, no, I don't know.
That is in fact what I was trying to get you to think.
But you got me to think you got it.
Good job. Thank you so much for.
Well done. Wow.
I had no idea what you're talking you.
Guys were talking about I've gotso big.
Because our sunrise on the reaping came out recently.

(37:03):
So no spoilers. No spoilers.
I. Haven't read it yet but I just
TikTok is. It's a high scoring game, It's a
high scoring game. The third quarter is nearly
drawing to a close. But Cooper, we need you to ask a
tournament thing. Tournament question #3 March
Madness is extra mad because each matchup only consists of

(37:26):
one game to win, allowing for more upsets, but many other
tournaments use a best of style.Which of the following
championship matchups has the most best of games?
For example, best of seven. For the World Series, got.
You A. Chess B Snooker C NBA or D Grand

(37:51):
Slam. I was waiting for hockey.
I thought it was hockey. John.
I must say. Snooker Cooper, John.
Snooker is correct. Wow.
Thank you. Thank you, 30. 5 Snooker.
I'd like to shout out low best of. 35 so many.
Games of snooker in front of me,Oh my.
Gosh, so chess is a best of 14 generally, snooker is best of 35

(38:16):
frames, NBA is best of seven, and Grand Slam is best of five.
I don't know what snooker is. It's like pools.
The worst bill British. Billiards.
It's like frames. As in, like bowling.
I don't think they're the same. I doubt it.
Because if you think about bowling is really one game of 10
frames or whatever. That's true.

(38:38):
OK. Back to me.
That's right. What up team?
Fucking horses tie back. End.
Of the. Third quarter, only one quarter
remains. Here's the score update.
Cooper still with two points, Cameron has three, and now we've
got a tie. Aidman and John with eight.

(38:59):
Points. Still plenty of points up for
grabs. I don't know if anyone scored a
three pointer yet. We had a missed 3.
Pointer Cameron and I both. No, no.
Yeah, you're right. You're right.
You're right. So you're right, You're right.
Let's see what will happen. The thrilling finish fourth
quarter, Cameron, your final cooking question.
It is time. What up?

(39:20):
Team. What's up, Cameron?
What's up? I'm going to set the stage for
you. Oh no.
It's the early 1800s. I've been making my I've been
making my family a meal out on the Prairie.
Oh no. All of a sudden, my young child
runs in with a cut on their handand I give them which of the

(39:41):
following? Which of the?
Following. Which of the following what?
Which of the following condiments off the shelf to help
heal their wounds? OK, cool.
That's right. This question is all about which
condiment was used in the 1800s for medicinal purposes as a.
Wound. Solved cocaine as a oh go for

(40:01):
mustard. Whoa, mustard.
Is. Incorrect.
Oh. I had to go for something.
That was the lands. Uncomfortable.
I think that was something that like went in and then bounced.
Out of the rim, it hit it. Hit the rim four times and then
yeah. Radish B Ketchup, C Mustard or D

(40:28):
Mayo A Horseradish. If you guessed horseradish,
you're wrong. Oh shit.
John has to do this. John, it's between the ketchup
and Mayo. John gets the rebound, Cameron.
Don't choke. Left, left, left, left.
I'm going. To put Mayo on that thing.

(40:49):
And John, if you were to put Mayo on a wound, it would
probably get horribly infected cause the answer was ketchup.
There's sugar in both of those. It's.
Not gonna be good. It's deep, deep.
What makes ketchup good to put on the wound?
No, it looks like blood. Nothing you shouldn't do.
It looks like blood, so you can't tell it looks like blood.
So you can't. It's like it's the humor is

(41:10):
good. It's closest who actually did
it. Why?
I don't know. I didn't look that far.
Cameron just wrote this question.
And you're telling me nobody put?
Mustard on wounds Why did you're?
Telling me not one person, not. A single.
Person. I'll do try to put mustard on a
wound. I'll do it right.
My ACL that I told. Right now, mustard on it right
there. Good defense.
I think that's where the term comes from, where you put a

(41:32):
little mustard on it. They believed it had medicinal
properties due to its tomato content and perceived coldness.
I don't know, cold. I guess that'll be fine, Cooper.
When you these. Are the same.
People who when they got injured, would then cut
themselves to bleed out the time.
Somewhere else. Somewhere else.

(41:53):
Yeah, That's the four humors, baby.
Yeah. You're you're gonna dunk on gay?
Water. No, one of the humors.
We need more bile. We need more bile.
It's it's. Blood slam, yellow, black,
yellow bile and black bile. And ketchup.

(42:17):
Yeah, you want to hear one more question about the insanity
defense? This one's my favorite one.
So far I saved best for last year, so OK.
We talked about crimes of passion, right?
Well, crimes of passion mostly refer to domestic affairs.
Sometimes people get really passionate about politics.
Which of the following presidential assassins
unsuccessfully attempted to use the insanity defense to get them

(42:40):
off? Free.
We've got a Cooper buzz in. Okay, Cooper.
John Hinckley, junior. Cooper.
That is incorrect. John Hinckley Junior did
successfully use a temporary insanity and it sparked the
Supreme Court into lessening thescope of where you can use that
because so many people got pissed off about it.
But that was D unfortunately. So A Richard Lawrence, the

(43:03):
attempted assassin who tried to kill Andrew Jackson in 1835 and
then got like beat with a cane. B John Lukes Booth, who killed
Abe Lincoln in 1865, C Charles JGiteau, who killed James A
Garfield in 1881, and D John Hickley Junior, who killed
Reagan in or tried to kill Reagan.
John. Charlie Giteau never heard never

(43:26):
or heard the word no. It is Charlie Giteau that is
correct. He tried and failed to use
temporary insanity to get out ofhis booth.
Never. Writing this down for the next
U.S. President.
'S episode and then the other two were found guilty by reason
of insanity and then committed in an asylum.
So Richard Lawrence, even thoughhe he didn't actually do it, he
used insanity to kind of get outof the attempted charge.

(43:48):
Wait, John Willis Booth died? Yeah, he almost was burned in a
barn. He he didn't try and fail to use
it. He just never tried.
Yeah, he just. Yeah.
He totally did it because he jumped down on the.
Stage and it was like I got him.I was like.
I did it 6 separate tyranis and he limped off.
Yep. Uh huh.
Shut. Up.

(44:08):
Shut up to Stephen Sondheim. Yeah.
For. Assassins for assassins.
Only reason I know half these guys.
What like Leon Sholgach is there.
Everyone's there. I I knew everybody but Gateau,
actually. Does it look like I'm running
in? Place Gateau is really
interesting. He wanted to be ambassador to
France and also to promote his book, so he assassinated James

(44:28):
Garvey. That nice.
That's base temporary. Insanity.
But it didn't work. Temporary insanity.
And that's not guys. God was acquitted.
That's that's all I got. Thanks.
That's all she. Wrote thank you.
He didn't. Good questions, John.
It's time for your final question about trees.
Final question about trees. All right, so question four.
Last time trees came up, we talked about the tree of Tenare,
an Acacia widely believed to be the most remote tree in the

(44:51):
world that was sadly hit by a drunk truck driver and
destroyed. While a tragedy, this also means
that we have to crown a new winner of the title of the
world's most remote tree. So the current designee, our
current designee is a 9m tall Sitka spruce on the sub
Antarctic Campbell Island and inthe Southern Ocean.
But I have no idea who controls that.
So I can't mail the package to get that treated the

(45:12):
certificate. So what nation controls Campbell
Island, A France, B Argentina, CNew Zealand or D Nobody, as the
island falls within the unclaimed portion of Antarctica
known as Marie Birdland? Cameron Land.
Is Campbell Island one of those islands that's constantly being
ward over for no reason? That would be the Falkland

(45:35):
Islands. I'm not gonna.
Tell you, Don, I'm going D. OK, you're gonna say nobody.
Marie Birdland not. Nobody.
That would be incorrect. Dang it.
Dang it, Dang it. Aiden.
I'll say New Zealand. And you'd be correct in saying
New Zealand, yeah, a, a former governor of New Zealand planted
that tree originally back in like the early 1900s, and it's

(45:57):
still there. Planted that tree.
Yeah, that's. 100 something years ago.
And in fact, since it was planted from somewhere a little
bit further off, it is considered an invasive species.
But they're letting it stand because it has a cool Guinness
World Record. Nice job.
Every tree was planted, let's bereal.
That's. Is that?
Is that true? That's not true.
I'm gonna cut down that tree. How else would they grow, John?

(46:19):
They gotta plant it. But like by but like by a guy.
By God, you're talking about like, why?
Grow a guy cut down that tree and then burnt the tree in a
different by a tree. The tallest skyscraper shouldn't
count because a guy built it. Mr. B.
Zecker. 'S feast.
What's the most remote skyscraper?

(46:40):
That's a good question. One on the moon.
Probably I Probably. Wanted China.
I'm like a super soft skyscraperin like Iowa or something.
It's actually planned for Oklahoma City anyways.
Is. That Google guy here.
I, I I we're in the middle of sandal and skyscrapers, out in
the middle of nowhere. World's just.
Skyscraper. He did it, Alec.

(47:04):
He did it. Ref.
Ref. Ref.
That would have nothing to do with.
Just have nothing to do with. Anything Google?
Tee him up. Tee him up bro.
Actually scroll technically. Technically, I don't think I
ever said so quickly are. You kidding me?
The shit out of this next. Question I I just made.
The question So doesn't that kind of make me the host?
Doesn't that kind of make me thehost here in this moment?

(47:25):
The temporary host hasn't passedthe.
Temporary host status Yes Ref. Is getting too much.
Fairness. Temporary insanity, John.
I thought your hands up was the right teed up.
Teed up. Wow, we got A tag.
Does that mean we all get a chance to answer a bonus
question? And what happens now, Alec?
I don't know. This wasn't.
Happening. I guess this is kind of fun.

(47:45):
Tournament question. Make him lose all his points.
No. He doesn't lose me his points,
but, well, he's he's. Already tied so.
Far ahead, so I don't think it really matters it.
Doesn't really matter. Yeah, tournament question #4 The
invention of the bracket style tournament has led to an
explosion of bracketology when people try to guess the outcome

(48:07):
of each of the initial games as well as the subsequent games.
But getting a perfect bracket isincredibly rare.
Which of the following is rarer than randomly getting the
perfect bracket? A Getting struck by lightning 7
* B Individually finding 54 leafclovers C Winning the Powerball

(48:34):
twice in a row or D picking out a specific grain of sand on.
Earth. So three of these are less rare
than John. Strike me with lightning 7
times, Cooper. Let's see.
Let's see how. John.
That. Is correct.
Thank you that. Is A1 in 10 octalian chance?
Oh my God. However.

(48:55):
A. Park Ranger has been struck by
lightning 7 times. Brooke did not.
Learn his lesson and his beefingwith me.
This is it. To be fair, he was in a job
where he had to be outside in inlightning conditions, so his
chance was significantly high right then.
This is a probability thing, but.

(49:16):
I feel like. 30 I think. It's 5 gets struck by lightning
7 times. It's one in 10 octillion.
We're we're counting lightning, George, a guy who gets hit by
lightning 30 times. You were.
Gay so we only one counted will meet twice but the third time.
Well, I think the third time youdevelop a taste for it, God

(49:37):
actually kind. Of.
He's positively charged at that point in the lightning, that's
how. We get super villains, guys.
Isn't there a? Theory that people who are
struck by lightning are more likely to be struck by lightning
again. Statistically, because they're
possible charged of the lightning.
Against the old wives tale like.Isn't this one of those
probability things where the chances of you getting struck by
lighting is one in eight octillion or whatever you said,

(49:59):
but there's a billion, 7 billionpeople on Earth.
So the chances of somebody on Earth ever in the history of the
world getting struck by lightning 7 times is much higher
than that. That's that's probably true and
it's definitely your your odds change based off like how you
live. But this is.
Like. The odds that the average person

(50:21):
would get like an average 7 times would get struck by
lightning 7 times just by chance.
Ridiculous. We are individually finding 54
leaf clovers is one in 3.125 quintillion because they appear
about one in 5000. Winning the Powerball twice in a
row is one in 839 quadrillion, and picking out a specific grain

(50:44):
of sand on earth is one in 7.2 quintillion.
Wow, a perfect bracket is one in9.2 quintillion if you do it
completely random. And that's in a year.
Correct. So not like in your lifetime,
correct. OK, but still there's that's.
9.2 quintillion different combinations.
Nice of a bracket. Interesting.

(51:04):
Very interesting. All right, who did you pick to
win to win this March Madness trivia bracket upset City,
because we're about to reveal that was the final question of
the fourth quarter. And on the scoreboard we have
Cooper with two points actually.Zero because I took 2-3 pointers
in this. Oh.

(51:25):
And he's honest. Cooper with zero points, Cameron
with three points and Aiden and John are both moving on.
Aiden has 10 points, John has 12.
Dang it. Twice.
I don't need to go to overtime. And the final four guys.
Thanks. Thanks.
Thanks team. Good luck in the final four to

(51:46):
John going up against. Ethan and.
Logan next week to be sure to tune in, but for today, that is
all the time we have. Thank you for listening to
