(00:03):
Welcome aboard, Bus 1. We're on our way to Sherlock,
Texas, and we've got some time to kill.
Let's play some trivia. Inspectors, introduce
yourselves. A good evening.
I am detective clues brother. This guy stays.
Hello, hello, I'm Constable Carmichael Wellington the 3rd
(00:27):
it's. Committing to that voice for the
whole episode. That's crazy.
I don't know what you're talkingabout.
This is my voice. My name is Riddle Mick Sniff.
Detective. Extraordinaire certified good
classes. Hello.
Greetings everyone. My name is Chief Inspector.
No nonsense. Hugh Dunnit of the Bus 1 Police
(00:48):
Department. And now, detectives, what I'm
about to reveal to you stays between us.
Looks like someone managed to sneak into the Bus 1 vault and
acquire all the answers to my questions before the episode.
Now talk about a scandal. What's worse is I have reason to
believe that the culprit is among the three of you
(01:12):
detectives. Now luckily the other two are
expert investigators who can help me suss out the culprit.
I'm looking to retire as chief after this case, so if you prove
your worth, it could go a long way.
This is an episode all about detectives.
(01:32):
Now here's how this is going to work.
Like any good detective, no Google rule #1 no detective
Googles. It's kind of a staple of the
industry. They're going to be your
standard bus. 1 script of three sections with 15 questions each.
Level 1's five questions worth one point.
Level 2's, five questions worth 2 points.
Level 3 is 5 questions worth 3 points.
(01:53):
Now we're using a buzzer to determine order.
And now the key comes in where one of you already has all of
the answers to the question, so it's up to the other two of you
to figure out who it is. There's also one more mystery
for you all to suss out. One of these questions has a
fake answer to it, and every detective will have one
(02:14):
opportunity to challenge what the host me reveals as the
correct answer. If you guess correctly which
answer is fake, you're awarded 3points.
But if you guess incorrectly, you're going to lose 3 points.
Now, multiple detectives can challenge the same question.
And as always, in the force, most points wins opposite of
(02:35):
golf. However, the inspectors must
correctly identify the culprit if they want to win.
If the culprit wants to win, they must remain undiscovered
while getting the most points. Otherwise, it's a lose lose
scenario for all of us. Feeling OK, detectives?
Yeah, let's. Do it so one of us is trying to
(02:55):
fake it. Yeah.
What? Don't have all the answers.
One of you has all the answers and the other two have to figure
out who it is if they want to win the episode while having
those points. The.
Cult like the faker has to get the most points as well as not
being found out. Yeah, everybody who the winner
is the one with the most points conditional on their either
(03:19):
remaining undiscovered or discovering.
Interesting. OK.
Makes sense? Also, do detectives use Bing?
Detectives, stay away from Internet Explorer.
OK, they're starting to dip their toe in AI, but I'm a
little. I'm a little nervous about the
whole thing. I'm gonna.
(03:39):
Retire here in a little bit the GPT you find this guy's address.
Show me this guy's balls, please.
Now that's some detective work right there.
Anyways. Well, good luck, detectives.
We're going to start off our interrogation here in round one,
all about detectives in literature.
(04:01):
Now, the first question is elementary, my dear Watson.
Sherlock Holmes is the quintessential detective in
literature, using logic and deduction, the key detective
staples to solve cases that stump Scotland Yard.
He's been popular since his initial publication in The
Strand Magazine, and his storieswere so popular, in fact, that
(04:24):
the Queen of England became a fan, even convincing Sir Arthur
Conan Doyle to revive the character.
Who was the Queen of England during this time?
Cooper or Sorry, I forgot your. It's on the screen, it's in the.
Cooper, wait, No, not French. Wait.
What was like? What's it got her all?
(04:49):
I'm British. So he knows.
Michael Wellington So I know this.
Have we had more than one Vic? You're the British one, I.
Think it was one of the Victorias.
Is that good enough? One of the Victorias.
Well, there's only been 1 Victoria.
OK, that's correct. Green, Vic.
(05:09):
Who first you mean? Sherlock Holmes started coming
out in the last couple years of her reign and she was a huge
fan. Ohh.
But Sherlock Holmes being a detective, obviously that's why
we're talking about it. Gets to make sense that he knows
it 'cause he's British, but I amsussing now he knew the.
Answer. My Queen, someone answered one.
(05:30):
Question. All right, well, let's move
right into question 2. Agatha Christie is famous for
her mysteries, which would go unsolved if not for her staple
detective character, Hercule Poirot.
Which of the following is not anAgatha Christie novel that stars
(05:53):
Poirot as the lead detective? Is it Murder on the Orient
Express? Death on the Nile?
Murder in Mesopotamia or a haunting in Venice Cooper or
sorry Carmichael welling to the.3rd enough champagne to fill
denial, not champagne to fill denial.
(06:16):
So Gal Gadot was the lead character in that one.
Oh yeah, that's right, I always. That is incorrect.
Well, Gal Gadot wasn't that movie.
The detective was Hercule Poirot.
Did she play Hercule Poirot? No, she's just in that movie.
Be a woman too. Cute.
I am gonna say murderer on the Mesopotamia 'cause that sounds
(06:40):
like a that sounds like a like atreehouse kids book or whatever.
That's not like an Agatha Christie novel.
That Detective Clues is a real Agatha Christie novel and did
have Hercule Poirot as the lead detective.
So this is so sad. So down to Riddle Mcsniff over
here. OK, so.
(07:01):
It's now between Murder on the Oriental Express and.
The Haunting. In Venice.
Murder on the Oriental. Express.
That one sounds like a Goosebumps novel.
That is incorrect Riddle, Mick. Sniff The crypt answer is A
haunting in Venice. A Haunting in Venice is a movie
(07:22):
that star is Hercule Poirot. It's the sequel to Death on the
Nile and Murder on the Ornate Express.
However, that is not a novel that Agatha Christie has
written. That movie was loosely based on
one of her other novels, so it's.
A new movie. Yeah, yeah.
So they were like releasing the the Gal Gadot Death on the Nile
is the sequel to the Murder on the Orient Express movie.
And then the sequel to that is ahaunting invention.
(07:45):
There was already they. Already made another one.
Yeah, it was somewhat recent, I didn't see.
It good job, Gal. Good, I'm.
Too busy solving cases and managing all this crime to go
see movies. Man.
Nobody wants to go to the theater anymore.
It's all about streaming these days.
(08:07):
Fully we could stream detective work.
What if What if Uber people? Screwing our episode.
There you go. All right, moving on to question
3 here. Looks like nobody got that one,
which is embarrassing for the one of you who knows all the
answers. Detective work isn't just for
(08:29):
adults. Nancy Drew is a teenage slut
that has been solving crimes since 1930, which I guess
doesn't make her a teenager anymore.
However, while all stories are written by Carolyn Keene, this
is a pen name that has been shared by many authors.
Edward Strathmeyer is the brain that created the character and
(08:50):
outlined all of the stories until his death in the 70s.
Strathmeyer wasn't content with just one kid detective, however,
and developed another mystery solvent series.
Which of the following series was also created by Strathmeyer?
Was it Enola Holmes, the Hardy Boys, the Boxcar Children or
(09:12):
Nate the Great? Sorry, and I've heard of like.
Carmichael, Wellington. The third Hello, hello.
I believe it would be the The Hardy Boys.
That is correct, Carmichael. Congratulations.
The Hardy Boys are his other stable property.
Michael, would you steal the buzzword ball?
(09:35):
I would never. Never.
It was multiple choice. Yeah, The Hardy Boys stars Frank
and Joe Hardy as to teenage detectives.
These are 25. Percent.
There's you. Sold the bus 1 vault.
That's actually a greater than 20. 5% chance there's actually 3
of you, yeah. There's a 33% chance have done
(09:55):
it. He has done this.
Cute. Busy done this.
No, you did not do it. Thank you very much.
I've. Been Chief Inspector of the bus
1 PD for 80 years now we have. Police.
Force Wow, apparently question 4.
(10:17):
My favorite kid detective growing up was Encyclopedia
Brown. This child prodigy would solve
cases for his policeman dad at dinner that turn around and
solve the neighborhood's mysteries from his own agency
run out of the garage. How much did Encyclopedia Brown
charge for his services in the books?
(10:39):
All right, Carmichael. Yeah.
And closest plans. Was it 1/4?
You know that's close. Can anyone get more specific?
Quarter of a dollar. Closer than 1/4 quarter.
Like. I'm next, right?
I'm next, yeah. I believe it'll mix Niff, it's
up to you, okay? I'm gonna say a dime.
(11:02):
I think he's cheap. A dime, okay, And finally
detected clues. $0.50. Garby making it again the
correct. Answer for coins. $0.25 plus
expenses. So he did charge for any
expenses accrued. I don't remember that first
book. Well, wouldn't. $0.50 Be closer
(11:23):
then. Well you know some cases have
expenses, some don't. But then the correct answer is
$0.25 plus expenses. So he does the whole the quarter
into the gas can thing. If you ever read encyclic paper
and. I can't remember that one, but I
remember him being like and you have to pay expenses and.
My tax right, That's where they get mileage.
(11:44):
That's where he gets sometimes he really knows what's up.
Expenses. That's what it is he brings in.
His own like, private estimator and it like completely fucks
yeah. He's getting like massages.
Well, I had to get a hotel because I was out of town.
I had to get a steak dinner. Yeah.
It was 20 minutes away. I really had to just, no.
(12:05):
I loved the Encyclopedia Brown books because you could like go
to the back to see how they weresolved.
Like how he solved them. I remember solve them yourself
if you were smart enough. I remember 1 Encyclopedia Brown
book, like the bully there was like a bully or something and he
had a bunch of like vases on histruck and he was like, they what
(12:28):
do they do? They flew off the back when I
hit the brakes and Encyclopedia Brown was like, they would
actually have gone off the frontif you hit the brakes.
And I was like, that's so smart. That actually led me to want to
become a detective. Actually.
I sort of idolized and now. You're on the force, and now
he's on the force. Are we all in the same force?
(12:50):
Congratulations. High work.
Of a PD anyway. What was the bully?
Hang on, don't. Think so is.
There was media brown bully bugs.
Meanie fuck bugs. Meanie.
Oh my. Nice try.
Bugs with the name like bugs Meanie.
Yeah, what else was he gonna? Hey.
None of you are secretly. Bugs, We're not starting him up
(13:11):
for a. I'm starting to think Carmichael
might be bugs meanie because youcensor every.
Question What's the opposite of?Generational.
Well, my encyclopedia Brown. He's not even British.
Actually, I'm sure you do. Question 5.
Moving into comic books, which are technically literature,
superheroes often play the role of investigators solving
(13:34):
mysteries and catching super villains.
Outside of just common criminals, what superhero is
known as the world's greatest detective?
Batman. Batman.
That is Batman kicked Crusader, World's Greatest Detective.
World's greatest detective. The world's greatest and he
(13:54):
first appeared in Detective Comics as well did.
You guys have you guys not looked like I don't know, I get
in a real kick with like Batman comic explanation on YouTube.
So that's pretty my algorithm actually that's I haven't gone
that far. Dude, yeah, it's pretty sweet.
It's pretty sweet. No spoilers.
How? Would Batman have caught Bugs
(14:16):
Meanie? There's a, there's.
No guns. I would have killed bugs Medium.
No good Bugs Batman Teenage mutant Ninja Turtles crossover.
When's the Batman Encyclopedia? I'm a bummer.
(14:41):
I watched my parents die, Raffia.
I'm a bummer. I'm a bummer.
I was going to for that question.
I was going to say Spiderman Noir was the greatest detective
of all. You know, greatest in his
dimension. He's his world's.
You didn't say within our dimension.
(15:01):
Sorry I didn't think preface. Every question with within our
dimension. Yeah, it would be Queen Victoria
of our dimension. Of our dimension.
In our dimension. I just want you guys to just
pretend that I continue doing the British accent just like.
Staying in this sort of thing. Right is there is there a Reaper
(15:24):
plugin for British accent? Yeah.
Probably make it really good. I want to sound like Alfred.
What's Michael Caine? Yeah.
To your Batman. Michael Caine, Watch the Bruce.
Actually, I could probably do a Michael Caine somewhat better
than the one I was trying earlier.
Hey try for Round 2, before I get into the second round, can
we get a little score check? That was the end.
(15:45):
That was 5 questions. That was.
Fine, I have 0 but don't let don't.
It's a magnifying glass. I've won.
Sometime. Won for the amount of criminals
who were able to outsmart me. Only one.
Only one. Bugs.
I have 3 points. OK, Michael.
(16:09):
OK, Michael. Well, that's interesting now,
isn't it? Now I do have some built in time
for deliberation. Oh, I think it's Carmichael.
Call Michael. No, he's I.
Don't know because I'm like at. This point, it's like he's he
(16:31):
might or did you just wait? I don't.
Think I don't think he'd be buzzing in that quick.
I think. I think Alec is waiting till the
finish line to get all the points.
Detective clues, but to be fair,I also have not known the
answers. Now, now, gentlemen, now,
(16:51):
detectives, let's not get at each other's throats.
Let's do this here. The facts and what are the
logic? Against each other but.
Before we do, let's go to the audience question.
I'm Batman. I'm the hero Gotham needs but
doesn't deserve. I'm also a great detective.
(17:13):
For example, I know you're enjoying this episode of Bus 1
Trivia right now, aren't you? If I were you, I'd be sure to
leave a like a five star rating,a comment, or whatever else you
can do to help support the show, because we all need a hero
sometimes. Speaking of which, the hero who
answered last week's audience question was Mr. NYLT, who
(17:33):
correctly deciphered the Animalese of the Animal Crossing
episode. Congratulations Mr. NYLT, one
point to you this week. As a part of Detectives Trivia,
I need the audience to do a little sleuthing for me.
Does anyone know the name of thedetective commonly featured in
Batman comics and shows who is apartner to Commissioner Gordon?
(17:56):
I could really use that guy's help with some cases I'm working
on. Again, What is the name of the
detective who is a partner to Commissioner Gordon in the
Batman comics and shows? Write your answer in the
comments on Spotify or on Instagram.
And maybe if you don't want to give it away to everyone else,
you can e-mail me a secret message at hi@bus1trivia.com.
(18:17):
I eagerly await your replies. And welcome back.
We're starting off with Round 2 here.
The category of this round, while it is detectives, the
subcategory is television detective.
So detectives appeared on TV shows going out of literature
(18:39):
and into into the the screen. Benedict combo batch.
Not streaming though. Go watch this on an old
broadcast television like it wasmeant to be seen.
Watch this on. Satellite like a man.
Like Dish. Dish This is sponsored by.
I don't have streaming, I have dish.
(19:00):
Anyway, question 6. The TV series Colombo starred
Peter Falk as the title chili lovin Cesar smoking homicide
detective. This show was one of the first
major crime dramas popularizing a new format of mystery.
Unlike the whodunits don't. Not to be confused with
(19:21):
hudunits. Not unlike the hudunits of the
press. What was this format known as?
Charlie Chaplin rules before. Oh, wait.
Sorry, Jack. The format.
Of Colombo was not a whodunit where you are trying to figure
out who did the crime. It was different format that
(19:42):
kind of appeared here and what was it called?
It had a whodunit sounding name.OK, Carmichael.
Done it. Sorry I have no idea what it was
called but I know the format of Colombo which was how'd they
solve it? Is that what?
How'd they? Solve it the.
Whole thing is that you see themcommit the crime, you see them
(20:02):
commit the crime, and then you see the detective solve it by
the end. OK, so do you want?
How'd they solve it? So how solve it?
How solve it? All right.
Clues. Do you got anything for me?
How'd they do it? How do they do it?
(20:23):
OK. And real Mcsniff, you got it.
What's something more specific for me?
Why do it? Why did it OK?
Why done it? Why?
As much as I like that Mcsniff, I think we're giving that to the
Carmichael Wellington. The correct answer was a how
catch him? How catch him where the crime is
showing at the start of the episode and you got to figure
(20:43):
out how they caught him, he said.
How did it or household sorry. House.
Which I think has the most like, because it's not how did he do
it? You see it at the beginning of
the show. He was exactly right.
They show the entire crime and it's like full details at the
beginning of the episode. And then you got to kind of
figure out how it went from there.
(21:04):
Interesting. Yeah.
And I know like one of these other famous shows does the same
thing nowadays, but it kind of popularized that format.
Is your brother Why done it? No, it's Wyatt done it.
Thank you very Wyatt done it Allrighty.
Question 7. Shortly after Colombo Magnum, Pi
(21:28):
burst onto the scene while Tom Selleck was still solving
crimes, he did so with a Beachy attitude and as a private
investigator rather than a police officer.
One can't just go from beach bumstraight to detective.
So what profession did Thomas Sullivan Magnum the 4th have
before his Pi job? Multiple choice.
(21:51):
Was it a bartender, a naval officer, a supermodel, or a
detective? That's that's Wellington.
I think he was a super mortal. As as cute as Tom Selleck is as
not true. Incorrect.
(22:14):
What are the other options? It was police detective,
bartender or naval officer. I feel like if he was a police
detective, that'd be two on the nose.
I'll go Navy. That is correct clues.
You got one nice job. Yeah, he was a naval officer.
And then it's all set in Hawaii. In the final episode, he returns
(22:36):
to the Navy. I don't know why.
I've never seen Magnum Pi, so I don't know the whole character.
Alright, was this. Matt, was this the character or
actual Tom Selleck? No, no, the character.
I was fully thinking actually. Tom Selleck just did his thing.
With Tom Selleck never served. Tom Selleck was API he served.
(22:57):
Thank you very much. Just I don't think in the
middle. Yeah, he ate and left.
No crumbs. He left and.
They all got in his mustache. Yeah, they all got.
You see? Yeah.
Because he has. A mustache crumbs, you know.
You got Hey, write in the comments if you get mustache
crumbs if you. Get mustache in your crumbs.
(23:19):
Let's get mustache crumbs trending in the chat.
Well, that puts a button on thatwhole discussion.
Let's go to question 8. Criminal Minds follows the
behavior Analysis division of the FBI, using profiling
psychology to track down and capture various icky criminals.
One of these criminals becomes obsessed with main character
(23:42):
Spencer, or, excuse me, Doctor Spencer Reed.
What guest star actress played Cat Adams?
This character? All right, Carmichael.
Aubrey Plaza. That is correct.
Wellington is Aubrey. You've never seen that.
Guest stars as Kat Adams. I've only seen that.
Clip to shout soon. As you said the name, darn it.
(24:02):
Yeah, I've. Not seen the show but Ayton's
sisters have they shout out to them for this question but also
making me say Doctor Spencer rate but that was I called it
the big guns for this one I've I've seen.
Enjoyed watching Criminal Minds but it is hard to watch the 1st
10 minutes of each episode. 'Cause it's a how catch him
(24:24):
'cause. It is a how catch him in a lot
of questions. They show it at the beginning
of. No, the Plaza was in Criminal
Minds. She guest stars.
She's crazy. It wasn't like Mandy Patinkin in
Criminal Minds for the first season.
And then he was like, I'm out. He was, he was Shoot what was
his? Name.
I forget Mandy, I think his name.
(24:46):
Was Diego Montoya and somebody killed a spot?
That's a mystery. That's the six fingers.
Just six finger. No, that's hell.
Ketchup. Is a hell ketchup Anyway,
Question nine. Law and Order.
Yeah, thank you. The hit crime drama has been
running in some form since 1990,spotting multiple spin offs like
(25:11):
the most famous Special Victims Unit.
How many total episodes of Law and Order have there been,
including all spin off shows? So there's a lot I have no
reference for how long it's gone.
He said nice. Since the 901990 was when the
original law and order came down.
Is this what is this? Is this closest?
(25:33):
This is closest. Yeah.
OK. All right.
Clues. I'm just going to give it a nice
1000. All right, big sniff.
Big sniff. I was going to say 1000.
What do you think about this one?
More than 1000. I'm not going to be cheap and
say like 999. That's the question now, isn't
(25:54):
it? Mixed new.
I'm gonna go 858. 50 All right and Wellington, this is the big
one for you I. Would have said if they do like
20 episodes a year that would be700 so I'll go 700.
Well, it looks like Clues is theclosest to this one.
The correct answer is 938 episodes, so here's the
(26:17):
Breakdown 573 special. Units. 54 law and order
organized crime 195 law and order criminal intent 8 episodes
of Law and order true crime so that one didn't go well of 53 of
law and order UK, that one's foryou.
Carmichael, 22 for law and OrderLA and 33 for a Law and order
(26:38):
trial by jury. I did not realize there were
that many different law and order.
Yeah, I didn't either do. It I just knew about.
SVU to be honest. And I'm now realizing I don't
know, did normal Law and order turn into SVU or did I just
forget to include the original series in this number?
Anyway, you would have still been the closest clue.
Yeah, there's more episodes. Detective clues still would
(26:59):
have. Happened.
It takes it away. He like he picked up on the
clues. That's why they call him that
anyway. That's why they call.
That's why they call me that because of the clues I follow.
That's the clue. You know why they call me Riddle
Mix? Sniff.
I love to hear the bunch line there.
(27:20):
We, we, we must 'cause I sniff them.
Anyway, Question 10 Psych Psych is a comedical detective show
where the main character tricks the police into believing he's.
Psyched addition. To his impressive observation
skills, one mystery of the show that fans haven't been able to
(27:44):
solve is the appearance of a mysterious fruit in every single
episode. What fruit is that?
Dang it, I knew that. Wellington, It is a pineapple.
That is correct, Wellington. Nice job.
There's a pineapple hidden in every single episode of.
Slick, that's the first one I actually.
(28:04):
Think it was like some bit in the pilot episode when they were
filming it and they just stuck with it the entire run.
Which? Is he says, should I chop this
up for the road on the first episode and who was a pineapple?
And so they added into every episode.
That's comedy right there. Michael Caine loves psych
canonically. My name's Michael Caine and I
(28:25):
love shock. Wow I think that could trick
like a 90 year old person if we put AI.
Was that it wasn't that good? I think if we put an AI video
Michael Caine with that voice over, I think it would trick.
Could my Michael Caine we could pass the Turing test against a
90 year old on Facebook? You.
(28:46):
Could bring tires crashing to the ground with Michael Caine
deep. The Michael Caine singularity
all. Right, that's the end of round
too. So can we get a little score
check in? And now let's just.
Have knowing. Analysis.
I have 4:00. I have one point.
Still make sniff. Still the amount of criminals
(29:07):
that has outsmarted me, I feel like this is a little, I feel
like it's a little unfair that someone else got the answers.
And also like I'm statistically like I have not been doing good
at these trivia games for a while and I didn't get the
answer. That sucks.
I feel really bad about that. Well, you know.
Well, sniff, you can still win. Sniff, you could just sweep
(29:28):
around 3:00. We don't know, I guess.
Sniff also you can but. For the record, I do.
Think it's still? Called.
If you get the culprit, you can disqualify them and jump to the
front. So really you just have to beat
your other detective if you can solve your mystery.
OK. You know that is.
Interesting. Yeah, he's playing the long
game, he's losing, but watching every style intricacy.
(29:53):
My see my game is regardless of who is the detective, if I beat
them then I can't win. Somebody who's trying to win.
That's all. Let's just say I was going to
try to win no matter what. Let's move it around 3 here, our
(30:14):
last round. So time's sticking to catch the
culprit here. Question 11.
The Pink Panther franchise starsInspector Crusoe, A Hercule
Poirot parody that manages to solve crimes despite his
occasional incompetence. This franchise has comprised
(30:34):
both of television series and multiple movie reboots.
So put the following Pink Panther movies in order of
release. So I'm going to give you 5 Pink
Panther movies. You got to put them in order, so
here we go. There's five.
There's. More than five, but I'm giving
you 5. The Pink Panther.
The Pink Panther 2, The Curse ofthe Pink Panther, Revenge of the
(30:59):
Pink Panther and The Pink Panther Strikes Again.
Now there are potentially other movies interspersed between
these, but just put these in order of release.
Wait, there were this many with Steve Martin and them?
Or this is like throughout history?
Now this So there are multiple rebbies.
So these are all of the movies. And is this all in our current
(31:20):
universe? In our dimension?
Yes, In our dimension. Big Panthers of other dimensions
will not be considered on this episode.
Thing that's true. The sequel Interdimensional
Detectives. Sorry, does this include?
Steve Martin once. This This includes all Pink
Panther movies. It's been rebooted twice, I
think. I don't know, once or twice.
(31:42):
OK it. Has well, there's original TV
series. Then I think it got rebooted
into a movie and they got rebooted into another movie with
Steve Martin. So I think there's two series
going on here. Mcniff, you got a guess for me.
I think I'm just because I don'twant anyone else to take it.
I'm going to go the Pink Panther.
I'm going to do the Pink PantherStrikes again because I think
(32:04):
I'll get into the reason for that later.
It's between the curse or the revenge.
I'm gonna go The Revenge of the Pink Panther, The Curse of the
Pink Panther, and then Pink Panther 2 so.
Pink Panther strikes again, Revenge curse 2.
Yes, Pink Panther. And the explanation for putting
(32:26):
the Pink Panther two last? I think that's a recent one if I
remember it. I saw like a billboard for it
years ago, but like way before or sorry way after the other
ones in what I think. OK, cool, cool, cool.
I I think I did the exact same thing as you drew Pink Panther,
Pink Panther Strikes again, Revenge of Pink Panther, Curse
(32:49):
of Pink Panther and Pink Panther2 again because Pink Panther 2 I
think is like the second one they did with Steve Martin
because just call movies 2 untilrecently.
OK, I had something completely different.
I had the Pink Panther, then Curse of the Big Panther, then
Pink Panther 2, then Revenge of the Big Panther, and then Pink
(33:12):
Panther strikes again. All right, well, Mick, sniff,
you nailed it. So that's three points to you.
Like 100%. Technically also got it.
So that's I guess three points to him as well.
Oh, we both get it. That's so nice of.
You both, so let's go. Let's go, Alec, we gotta cut.
You. You're totally correct.
The Panic Panther 2 was the sequel to the Steve Martin
(33:35):
reboot Pink Panther. You.
Didn't include the Pink Panther.Steve Martin.
I did not know. So the original Pink Panther
was, Yeah. Wasn't that what I think it was
called the Pink Panther though? DVD.
Let me look it up. Because that would be confusing
if you had two pick poo. Perhaps this is a no?
Was there one? Just pink Pink Panther.
(33:58):
Well, no, I'm, you know, I'm thechief, so I got special
privileges. Is a special computer have this
is on it. Perhaps.
Wait, how does this make? That is correct.
That's that's there's the pig Panther 2006 and the pig Panther
1963 might be, but the spirit ofit was the 1963 version
question. So interesting.
(34:19):
You got what I wanted to do, andWellington was so far up that it
doesn't even matter. Anyway, question 12 challenge
question. Did you want to?
Challenge your Wellington. He's trying to challenge in a
British accent. I think I can understand him
correctly. Are you to say Wellington?
Are you locking in your challenge?
I'll translate. I'll translate.
(34:41):
I speak. Just hold on to that.
He's holding on to it. Don't do it.
Question 12. Inspector Gadget is less
detective than the rest of these, but he still manages to
track down and foil the plots ofthe evil Doctor Claw.
Now the question is, which of the following is not a gadget in
(35:02):
the Inspectors Toolkit? And I'm pulling this from
fandom.com/inspector Gadget, thegadget paintball gun go go
gadget paintball gun. Is it B go go gadget hands C go
go gadget outboard motor or D gogo gadget magnifying glass?
(35:24):
All righty, Mcsniff. I think the hands is definitely
one he knows. I've definitely heard hands
before. Show me.
Don't see how we would need a paint.
Paintball gun. I'm gonna go paintball gun.
That is correct. Nick Sniff.
There is no go go gadget gun. I can't remember if he has a go
go gadget gun. Probably not, surely.
(35:47):
That's just one rule is no guns go.
Gadget. Go go gadget.
No guns except if it's bogus meeting that's.
Right. Yeah, I feel like you'd have a.
Taser Batman go. Gadget to team up.
Go. Gadget Taser go go gadget rubber
bullets. Gas gadget.
(36:14):
He doesn't. He doesn't.
Have me on the playground as a kid.
Rubber bullets. He doesn't.
He doesn't have, but he has. Like.
He has like bio weapons, he's got like nerve gas.
I cast rubber bullets. You can't.
You can't play with me anymore. OK, I wanna I'm pulling up
(36:34):
theinspectorgadget.fandom.com wiki.
We can find some other good ones.
There's go go gadget Springs. There's go go gadget foam gun.
There's go go gadget Don't light.
There's a little glue. Foam.
Sticky glue foam go go gadget skates go go gadget skis go go
gadget watch which I figured like the guy could just wear a
(36:56):
watch why does he have to go go gadget everything like does?
It come out from underneath his skin.
Yeah, that sounds. Uncomfortable and it's like
ticket. Fireman.
Like spider? Oh, I totally.
Have a go go gadget watch like toy as a kid do I remember what
was on did? It go under your skin.
Yeah, you had to sew it underneath your skin.
It's. Great.
Really. That's gross, but anyway,
(37:18):
question 13. The Pinkerton Detective Agency
was at one time one of the largest private security forces
in the world. Their founder, Allen Pinkerton,
gained notoriety by claiming to foil the assassination of a
certain president-elect who thenwent on to use the Pinkertons as
his spies and private security, eventually leading to the
(37:40):
formation of the Secret Service. What president was this?
Was it? Sorry, This is multiple joints.
Is it James A Garfield, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln or
Warren G Harding? All right, Alec, I'm going to
go. Abraham.
Lincoln that is correct clues isAbraham Lincoln.
(38:03):
Abraham Lincoln episode Go listen to the Abraham Lincoln.
They they foiled his assassination when he was
president-elect, but they didn'tget the other one.
But. I did use them as as spies on
the Confederacy and and his own personal bodyguards.
So they were kind of a precursorto the Secret Service.
(38:23):
And then the Pinkerton turned into like the union busting
organization. So I got a downward spiral from
their inceptions. Whoops, I like.
Actually, you violently advertise your.
I love that episode. For him, it's a good episode.
Uh, I, and on the episode I remember I learning from doing
the research is that he founded the Secret Service, which is why
(38:46):
I went with that on that question.
Yeah, I thought, I thought the Secret Service was founded
because he got assassinated. No, he signed the bill or
whatever. I don't know if it was a bill,
but you know, he enacted the Secret Service like it was
either like the day before or like the week before he was
assassinated. Dude it was crazy, these guys
just on their first day of work. And and they weren't actually
(39:08):
originally for protecting the president, they originally set
up to find counterfeit money. People like to bust counterfeit
money rings. Yeah, 'cause that was a big
problem around this civil. War that comes up in Catch me if
you can. I love Catch.
I thought, I thought you were saying like literally it was the
dude's first dude day on the job.
He's like. Oh, no, no.
(39:34):
That's just so fired. That's so fired like you know,
you're in the probationary period, so no you.
Did have a bodyguard More more Abraham Lincoln fun facts.
Go listen to Abraham Lincoln on the show.
He had a bodyguard there, but hewent down to the bar to drink
(39:55):
instead of stay at his post. Talk about the Presidential Book
of Secrets with the grandfather of Nicholas Cage.
And then he ended up framing thegrandfather of Nicholas Cage for
the assassination, which discredited his family, so he
had to go find the Presidential Book of Secrets.
The City of Gold is that his grandfather is John Wilkes
(40:16):
Booth. No, no, no.
His grandfather someone else, but John Wilke, the grand friend
his. Grandfather that he was on the
plot, but he wasn't. He was trying to fight back and
then got killed. National Treasure 2 got.
Lost. Gotta go back and watch National
Treasure. Anyway, and Harris something
something in the Mount Rushmore Eldorado.
Exactly. I remember the end more than
(40:36):
anything. OK everyone, we're going to take
a pause to watch the entirety ofNational Treasure 2 right now.
This is now a National Treasure 2 Rewatch podcast.
That's crazy, Cooper. That's.
Our sister podcast, the NationalTreasure 2 Rewatch podcast.
Somebody come up with a funny name back?
Presidential Podcast of Secrets No.
(40:58):
Treasure 2 Fast 2 Furious. No, I don't.
That didn't work anyway. That's the question 14.
I'm going to kidnap the podcast of the United States of America.
I think that works. Question 14.
A real life eccentric detective,Dave Tashi touted around San
Francisco wearing loud suits, bow ties and bulky trench coats
(41:19):
while solving his crimes. He is mostly famous despite his
flamboyancy, for his long running investigation into a
famous serial killer. What serial killer multiple
choice did Dave Tashi attempt totrack down?
Was it Jeffrey Dahmer, the Zodiac Killer Ted Bundy or the
Green River Killer? Mcsniff Little.
(41:41):
Sniff. I know the Zodiac Killer was in
like San Francisco area, so I'm going to do that.
Zodiac Killer. That is correct Mcsniff.
Congratulations. He was played by Mark Ruffalo in
the Zodiac movie. He didn't catch the Zodiac.
He. Didn't no attempted to track
down he got taken off the case when he got caught sending
(42:01):
himself fan mail to the local newspaper.
He was like, wow, Dave Tashi's doing a great job.
And the reporter was like, is this is Dave Tashi reading
himself fan mail? And then he got kicked off the
case at a side. Didn't they?
Didn't they find is that a killer in the last like 10
years? Well, it's Ted Cruz, I thought.
Wait. So the guy, yeah, I thought you
said he successfully caught the guy.
(42:23):
No, no, attempted to track down.Well, why is he even famous?
'Cause he was like the guy who. Still, I tried to catch whoever
you know, I should be famous. I don't know.
What happened to the Zodiac Killer?
Monster didn't serial kill the movie.
Still afoot? The movie leaves it a little
more ambiguous of like maybe he did actually catch him.
(42:43):
I don't know, I haven't seen Zodiac in a while.
It's a good movie. I think it's an.
Ambiguous movie, yeah. Yeah, he's like, well, we got a
guy, but I'm not quite sure it'shim or you.
Know, but the guy that is like ambiguous of like of his
character was the Robert Downey Junior guy, not the Mark Ruffalo
guy. Well, yeah, I just the general
tone of the movie is like the guy that they accused, I don't
(43:04):
think was the guy who did it, but regardless, Dave Tashi got
taken off not. Who done it?
It's a how? Cold chase it is.
Oh yeah, cuz they show. But it's also like a why?
Do it is you. Don't know who it is.
It is kind of like, why do it? Why do they?
Go really just a fusion. Why do they?
Should have asked them that. Why did you do it?
(43:25):
Why did you do it do it? Why did you do it, Zodiac?
And then he was like, cuz I wanted to run for Senate of
Texas. Is that part of the lore?
Sorry, don't know enough about. No, Ted Cruz is the Zodiac.
Ted Cruz is the Zodiac Cruz. That's right.
Exactly. LMAO but question 15.
A lot like the Zodiac killer, a case that's gone cold.
(43:48):
We've talked about a lot of detectives but in spite of their
efforts, thousands of cases havestayed unsolved throughout
history. My question to you is how many
homicide cases go cold on average every year?
How many? Every year is a percent.
Sorry sorry I'm confused by the is it like percentage of all
(44:08):
cases? So every year It's basically I
took the total number of cold cases in a given range and
divided it by the number of years to get an average
percentage. Like how many percent?
Like what percent of all cases are have gone?
All homicide cases in a given year, a certain percentage of
them go unsolved and remain unsolved.
(44:31):
What percentage? Confused by the year thing?
Sorry, I I just tried to shrink it down to an annual average
instead of an all time because we don't have data forever.
All right. Clues.
It's it's got to be in the high.I think I'm gonna, I'm just
gonna go a nice 50% and let you guys.
That's. Crazy 50%. 50% all.
(44:54):
Right makes an F. I feel like that's really high.
I'm going to go dude. Even 25 feels high.
It's got to be high. You think it's high, Alec?
What do you? Think I think it's for Riddle.
What do you think I should guess?
Alec? Detective clues?
What do you? Think I solves every case only.
One person has ever fooled Riddle Mcsniff, so device how
many cases you've done by, you know, factor that in.
(45:17):
I mean that would be I guess that would put me at 50% too.
I've done 2 cases, one of them went cold.
Wait, this whole time you're bragging about you've only let
one get away? I mean, I'm just, I'm just
starting out. First day on the job, the
(45:38):
president gets assassinated. What can you?
Wait. Sniff is that Riddle Mick
Sniff's back story is he? I was the bodyguard secret.
He. Let John Booth.
Get away, John Wilkes Booth. And I didn't.
I didn't go to drink bugs. Meaty I.
Didn't go to drink bugs Beanie was he was tailgating outside
(45:59):
the. Theater.
Bugs Beanie was tailgating outside the theater and I said I
don't like soliciting, I do not like soliciting.
That said, I'm going to say 30%.That's why you never listen.
All right, Wellington, lock it in.
The thing, the thing that's killing me is like, this isn't
(46:20):
every homicide. This is a homicide case, right?
Yeah, yeah, unsolvable in theory.
Most homicides have a case opened into them.
Well, like how much? You don't really need to open a
case if it's like, obviously like, oh, that guy shot that
guy, Yeah. They still do a case.
They're like you do. We still have to prove it in
court and all that. They go, hey, that guy shot that
guy. Let's open a case and be like
(46:40):
your honor, here's the the elegance.
Yup, that's it. Yup, stay up most you're.
Going to slip hot open and. Shut.
Case You ever heard of that? 10, I'll say 10%. 10% well, you
gotta. Open every case.
Yeah, before you can just shut it.
I wish this was an open and shutcase.
(47:00):
However, the correct answer is 43% of house.
Cases. Go cold. 43 unsolved, which is
clues takes those three points. It's crazy.
It is crazy. It's.
Insane. You're telling me like 43% of
all like murders? You don't know who murdered.
Yep. I knew it was hot.
(47:21):
I had. I had seen the statistics
somewhere at some point. I knew it was hot.
It's. Crazy there's an easier graph
it. Blows your mind.
Why even have policies? We're doing.
Our jobs I guess I'm retiring that's for you young and story
about can we get a score check does that.
Mean they could just flip a coinand.
Probably that guy. I don't think it's all homicide
(47:45):
cases are between one of two guys.
That's right. It's either heads or cams or two
kids can see some bugs. Just either.
John's little bugs. Meaty or John and Wilkes Booth I
guess. And somehow Bugs Meaty's gotten
off free every single time. Damn motherfucker.
Somebody. Please flip bugs.
(48:06):
Flip them. Out of here.
Get them to the slab anymore. All right, can we get a score
check here at the end round 3? Yes, you may.
I still have 9 points. 9 points,Nick.
Sniff, is that 10? Whoa, Big 10?
I think right those are worth 3 Mcsniff or sorry that's not my
name detective. Clues.
(48:29):
Has 13 and I feel so I feel likethey put the target like I do
the end. I do a couple of those answers.
Everyone showed their clues. Before we get to the final
accusations, we do have a challenge question to suss out.
So this will be big for the culprit of picking out which
one's the challenge. Here so they repeated all the
(48:50):
questions. So they could remember.
What they were. If you get the challenge right,
you get 3 and. If you get.
A wrong down 3. You go down 3.
It's a risk I'm willing to take. So, so you, you and clues are
with it, or all three of you honestly are within swing here.
If one of you gets it, the othertwo don't.
Yeah. And and you must challenge.
(49:12):
Yeah, I'm gonna make y'all challenge because because it's a
mystery, you gotta you gotta prove your detective skills by
I'll never give a answer. Until the truth is revealed.
There's detective is a good number, but that means that
you're not a detective and that means you're the culprit, I
think actually. There's like.
Three questions I'm suss about. Or suss about but.
(49:32):
You you said you can't. Or you can choose to not
challenge. What?
I was gonna no. If you're gonna make.
A challenge. Because if you're gonna
challenge, that would immediately make you SUS, so I'm
not gonna let you do it. I think Alec is SUS and I want
to stay at one point above Cooper.
That's my strategy. Then get it right.
(49:53):
Get it right that whoa, that's some logic that a SUS person
might say though. What?
Do you mean no, I'm I? Don't want it cuz cuz you don't
want to lose your points obviously cuz you're trying to
win. Yeah, cuz I want to be higher.
Than cooking. Yeah.
All right. Any challenges?
I'll throw one out there. I am challenging Mesopotamia
(50:17):
murder, whatever that was called.
That sounds so freaking fake to me.
Murder Mesopotamia. So dumb.
OK, the Agatha Christie one. I have it a challenge.
OK, go ahead then. Michael is Is Red Old Mcsniff
going to challenge or is he not?I will challenge.
I will challenge. I will.
OK, the the one that I I still can't get behind is the Zodiac
(50:41):
Killer one that was not in the movie and I believe that they
would have put it in the movie if that were actually part of
it. Mcsniff, what do you got from
me? I'm going to have to challenge
the same one Alec did because I want to stay in second place.
Oh, you're just that's kind of SUS Riddle so.
How's that SUS? All right, because it won't
(51:03):
affect the actually, that's not that SUS, actually.
So Cooper gets. Yeah, I feel like that's pretty.
Smart. It won't affect our
differential, so yeah, so. Yeah, the challenges are locked
in here. Can I get a guess on the culprit
before we reveal the final scores?
I think I'm 100% Alec here. Coopers started off so strongly,
(51:25):
I don't think he would have let himself I.
Need a 2. I need a 2 to one note for.
Knowing the answers to I. Need 2 to take this to get in
the last two rounds. I got the last two rounds, so
2/3 of the game. Mcsniff.
I got both five points in the last.
Rounds. Exactly.
I am also SUS about I started out super SUS about Carmichael.
(51:49):
He kind of fell off, so I don't know if that.
Makes sense. I'm sorry that Aiden asked
questions I knew in the 1st 2 rounds and I didn't.
Know but that's true advantage because now I don't think it's
you and you wouldn't win anywaysif it was you right because you
didn't get enough. Well, if the challenge is
correct. Oh, the challenge is correct.
(52:09):
Which I'm did you challenge? Withholding.
What did you challenge? Killer one I challenged the
Zodiac kiddo 1. Dang it, that one is kind of SUS
though. I need. 2/2 of you need to agree
on who the the impostor is. I'm going to make you.
Cooper, I want to I want to throw.
This thing. I want to throw you this.
If I was the impostor, it would make no sense.
(52:32):
Wait for me. Riddle Why are we?
Why are we pointing fingers at each other when it could still
Cooper could still win and we? Could just think it's you.
Go with our gut feeling from initially that Cooper just got
enough points initially, I don'tthink it's.
Cooper, I think it's you. You're he's trying to make a
challenge because he knows the challenge.
He would know the challenge if he's the SUS guy.
(52:53):
If he's the. You're making on me just
happening to think I would win in the challenge question.
Not just happening maybe, maybe this was your plan is you wanted
to get just enough points so that you could win with the
challenge question. That's what I'm thinking.
About me. I don't think I could have done
that if I tried. I just, I just don't think he'd.
Fall off in round 3. I don't think he'd be behind.
(53:14):
His plan? That's part.
Of my plan all along. No listen.
He did this Riddle Mcsniff, listen to me now.
He did this as a point to sorry I lost my train of thought.
He he knew. That losing by like 4 points.
You think I just meant to do that?
If you you, he knew that he would have no suss on him if he
(53:38):
wasn't winning at the end. So he purposely got a bunch of
points and then beginning and then I don't know, didn't buzz
in very quickly or something andthen.
Got a ton of points at the end. But that's not my fault.
I'm just saying this, this is a big, this is big scheme energy,
(54:00):
the. Challenge is the one that you
guys put yours on. No, that's the point is that you
challenge. Something different than us, so.
We would lose and you would win because you know the right
child. You're going to challenge
something different. I challenge I was saw something
Zodiac thing anyway. Well, I challenged first, so.
Alec, I have a real big. Sniff, put his on the same as
(54:20):
yours so he wouldn't so. This is my thing.
This is my thing. This is my thing, Alec, and This
is why I'm voting for you, I don't think.
Cooper so rude. I don't think Cooper would.
I'm sorry. Carmichael, Wellington, the
third. I do not think he would have me.
Can I get this out? I don't.
(54:42):
Think you, I think Alex lashing out.
He's in the lead. I just, I just, I just got very
enamored by your strategy that Iam now convinced Cooper did,
because I didn't even think about that until I remember that
he knows the challenge question for sure.
I think Alex, like if all of us get the challenge question
wrong. That's what I'm saying.
That's why I voted the same thing as him.
(55:04):
I can't, I can't compete with that argument.
That's just true. That's true.
But here's The thing is, you know the challenge question, so
you know. The inspectors.
Inspectors. I'm going to need you to lock in
who you think is the culprit. Cooper, if you it's Cooper.
So I don't even care who Cooper's trying to vote for, but
(55:25):
I feel like it's just going to go withdrew.
So I'm going. Clues has voted Carmichael.
Sniff has voted for Clues and Carmichael.
Oh, I'm voting detective clues. All right, well, now that the
scores are locked in, there's really nothing I can do to catch
the culprit. So can the culprit please reveal
themselves? It is a Riddle.
Wait, not the. Challenge.
(55:47):
Who's the culprit? Wait, he just raised his hand.
Wait, did we both have it, Cooper?
I'm also the culprit. I thought this might happen.
What? What's going?
On. I thought.
The culprit is managed to swap out some of the answers for
(56:10):
fakes. Looks like whoever it was
managed to pull a fast one on all of us.
Damn, damn. These were all wrong.
Were these all fake? No, no, they're all real.
There was no challenge question. It looks like each of you got a
fake answer that was different from each other.
However, that being said. This is great there.
(56:32):
Is no challenge. There is no challenge, you just
each had a different fake answer.
So I did not challenge the one that I saw was fake because I
knew that I would win anyway. What did you guys challenge?
I challenge. I challenge the one I thought
was fake. The one based on what he gave
you? Yeah.
So did you do that too? True.
(56:52):
I challenge your one because I wanted to argue that we just
voted you out, meaning I'm in second place.
That would have been what? Happened.
Because there was no challenge, all of you lose 3 points and oh.
My. God, so stupid.
So despite getting we all got one pulled over on us.
(57:15):
I'll be the first two-minute. And despite all you being
criminals, you all showed some moxie today.
And I still need to promote a new lead inspector if I want to
retire. So I do have one more question
for you. Worth a total of five points.
So none of the arrest of this. Sucks I busted my ass to get the
most points just in time. Alec, you shouldn't have won.
(57:39):
You shouldn't have got the Pink Panther points.
I was mad. Question 16 I thought he was
going to give. It to you because.
You like the first on that? 1.
While all. Of the detectives we discussed
today, self crimes detective is technically a police rank only,
so private investigators and they're like don't technically
qualify. So my question to you is I'm
going to give you 4 police ranks.
(58:02):
You have to tell me between which does detective fall in the
official police ranking? So do you know if you show me
you understand the chain of command, I'll promote you to
lead inspector. So the ranks are officer,
corporal, Sergeant and deputy chief.
And this is first to buzz. Yeah, sure.
(58:23):
Wait, none of those are. Detective.
No. You have to place detective in
that list of four. Oh, so those four are in order?
What was the last one? Sorry.
Deputy Chief, I will go Deputy Chief Sergeant, Corporal
Detective Officer. All right, I'll just see what
Mcsniff and Alec have to say areclues.
So I'm going to go from lowest to highest.
(58:45):
I'm going to say officer, detective, corporal, deputy
chief, chief. OK, Corporal Sergeant place
detective. OK.
And clues what you got? I I swear to Jebus I wrote down
the exact same thing that they both also did, so all right.
(59:05):
Wait, did we do the same thing or did we do different things?
Everybody did the same thing andbecause Carmichael Wellington
was the first to buzz in with it, that is the correct answer,
Detectives both. Officer.
