(00:03):
Welcome aboard, Bus 1. We're on our way to the city of
Neverwinter in the Forgotten Realms, and we've got some time
to kill. Let's play some trivia and
everybody, we have some very, very special guests today.
You may know them from Hero Club, you may know them from RE
Slayer's Take Smosh Versus, and more.
(00:25):
It's the gang from Total Party Skill Adventurers.
Introduce yourselves. Hey everyone, I'm Dylan McCullum
or the teleportee boy. I am a voice actor, voice actor
and DMIDM for kids on the weekends and I'm so excited to
be here with my best friends andgreatest enemies.
(00:47):
Which one switch? I'm Gabe Greenspan.
I'm an actor, I'm a writer, I'm AD and D guy.
I put things on TikTok and they're all about Dungeons and
Dragons. So if I fail today, I have the
most face to lose. By far the most it's not.
Like it's going public on the Internet already.
Good. And hello, I am George
Primavera. You might know me from Hero Club
(01:09):
or my work with Smosh and as well as the Reese Layers take
and these gentlemen total party skill where they torture me
weekly. Yeah, but I wouldn't have it any
other way. Thank you for having us.
We're so excited. Well, guys, I'm glad.
So if they'll sitters, if you haven't picked up on this, it's
a bunch of D&D nerds. So the topic today?
Oh yeah, DSD. We'll be embarking on a daring
(01:31):
adventure with trivia all about specifically the 2024 edition of
Dungeons and Dragons. To kind of mix it up, get in the
ether, Yeah, all that stuff. Goodness we were talking before
and I was like if he asks anything pre 5 EI am doomed.
No, no. No, no, no, no.
I I mean, I started with Pathfinder, but I even I don't
(01:52):
understand that whole thing. Yeah, right.
No kidding. But as always, no adventure is
complete without a healthy set of round rules.
So now we're going to go over the rules of the game rule #1 no
consulting the ancient texts or contacting other planes, AKA no
Google rule #2 There are three rounds in this game with 15
questions. Split five per round.
(02:12):
In round one, you will be rolling AD four and get that
much experience per correct answer.
Round two you'll get AD 6 XP percorrect answer, and round three
you'll get AD 8 XP. For each correct answer, we will
be rolling initiative on each question to determine who
answers 1st. So that's just the buzzer.
And be warned, there are numerous hazards on our journey.
(02:35):
If all players are unable to answer a question, they will
fall into a trap and take damageAKA lose experience point.
So if you all miss like you pickthe three wrong answers on a
multiple choice, everyone's taking damage.
This bucket rocks. And we have our extra special
challenge rule. Once per game, I, the host, will
(02:55):
give a fake answer to one of thequestions.
Every player will have one opportunity unity to challenge
what I reveal as the correct answer.
If the player guesses correctly then they are awarded an extra
2D6 experience points. But if they challenge an
incorrectly true answer, they'llfall into a trap and take 2D6
(03:16):
damage. Multiple players can challenge
the same question, and you must challenge in the middle of the
game. So if you're feeling something,
send it, because you won't be able to come back once we've
moved past that part of the adventure.
And as always, most XP FDN wins.High score wins opposite of
golf. Any questions?
Opposite of golf, but same as every other sport.
(03:38):
Same as everything else. Complete opposite of golf.
I can't. Wait, I want you to know this
will affect our friendship and our conversation next to deeply.
That's fantastic. I can't wait.
Deeply I I can't wait to know the answers, but I've rolled the
lowest possible XP total, yes. I.
Know they don't get aimed to lose on an absolute.
A lot of technicality up in the.Air.
(03:59):
A lot of technicalities to be had and there might be some
surprises along the way, so we'll see.
But if everyone's ready to go, I'm gonna do a little weaving
and set the scene, yes. Please.
A Bus 1 caravan slowly crawls through the Sword Mountains as
it carries your benefactor, LordMitch the Magnificent, home from
his visit to Waterdeep. The journey has been just
(04:21):
uneventful enough that the tendrils of laziness had begun
to take root in your mind. Suddenly, with a flash, a
wizened man decked in Star covered robes appears before the
central carriage. You move to act, but he raises a
hand and stuns you with a burst of light.
I am Sturdivar the Enchanter, and if you don't mind, I will be
(04:44):
liberating the good Lord from your care.
You can only watch as he walks to the central carriage, pulls
out Lord Mitch, and takes off into the mountains like a
shooting star. Hey, wait.
Come back no yeah, guys, little Mitch is gone and and that's it
thanks for riding bus 1 you guysfailed your vision it's been.
(05:06):
Great. Thank you so much.
You're gone. Who's driving the care?
Hey. But now, starting off with round
one, as our brave heroes set offin pursuit of their benefactor,
let's learn a little more about our adventurers.
Question one everyone knows a hero is only as good as their
dramatic back story. Character backgrounds have
(05:28):
become much more important in the 2024 edition of D&D, now
granting you your ability score increases and even a free feat.
Though not all feats are up for grabs right from the jump.
Which of the following feats Multiple Choice is not an origin
feat? Let's go.
Is it a alert, D magic initiate,C Savage attacker, or D
(05:51):
inspiring leader Dave? D Inspiring Leader is not an
origin feat. Abe, that is correct.
That's the only one that's not, even though I feel like that
feat is like, you know, low powered enough that it probably
could be. Absolutely.
Could be I believe. I think you could give it as an
origin feat and it wouldn't be aproblem.
It would not at all. But yeah, savage attacker from
(06:12):
soldier, alert from guard, magicinitiate from like everybody and
their mothers. Yeah.
So as we learn about the back story, let's start with Gabe
because he got the answer right.Gabe, who is your character and
what is their background? Yeah, this is Sir, Sir Gabe the
Garrulous A goblin. A goblin.
(06:33):
Garrulous Gabe. Goblin Garrulous Gabe.
Yep, Oh my. Tiny armor plated goblin who is
talkative to and loquacious. He talks like this and he loves
to speak in his own voice. Nothing like me.
Nothing at all. Nothing at all like you.
(06:53):
Nothing. Dylan, would you like to go
next? Oh, of course, yes.
I'm Dylan the Teleporte boy. He is as always.
He is an Asamar. He is an as always with this
voice, he's an Asamar, dropped from the heavens to bless you
all with his, you know, attitudein the world.
(07:17):
He is, of course, a Faye warlockbecause he needs to be able to
teleport everywhere around the battlefield, bursting into
sparks everywhere he does. Lovely and George.
I am George the Giant. I'm very big, very excited to be
here and to do my best at every turn.
(07:40):
That's fantastic. Unfortunately, George, your
employer is God, so the next best thing you can do is chase
after him. Before we move on to Question 2,
Gabe, did you roll your experience points?
Let me do it right now. It's AD. 4. 2. 2.
Experience points, so write thatdown.
Now moving on to Question 2. I can't wait.
(08:01):
I'm growing, growing and growing.
He's growing. After determining your
character's background, your class and subclass will grant
you most of your abilities that we'll use in your adventures.
The new PHP comes jam packed with different subclass options
featuring reworked classics and even some brand new favorites
for each of the following. And I have 5 of the 2024
subclasses. What book did they first appear
(08:25):
in? So if they're reworked, you have
to do the book that they first appeared in.
So I'll give them to you and then we'll give you a couple
seconds and whoever gets closestwill win.
So here we go this. Is a great question.
Your subclasses are the Abjurer Wizard, the Oath of Glory
Paladin, the Warrior of the OpenHand Monk, the Trickery Domain
Cleric, and the College of Glamour Bard.
(08:46):
Are you saying they're all from the same book or they're all
from different? Books.
Each one's from a different book, whoever can get the most
right, or maybe not each one's from a different one.
But understood. Understood.
Man, man. Yeah, so take like 30 seconds or
so. I'm wrong.
Goodness. You just gotta be closest.
(09:06):
You don't have to be right, you just have to be.
Close. I'm gonna I'm gonna play a
scattershot game. I'm ready.
Darn right. I I'm OK, I'm there.
I got it Lock. In.
Start with George. Sure, first one AB Juror Wizard
Players Handbook. Which one?
2014 Players Handbook. OK.
Second one, which was the, I'm sorry, the glory, glory.
(09:29):
Glory with the. Glory, I said.
Dragon Lance. OK.
Then for the third one, I said player Sam book 2014 again.
OK, I'm playing my safe base. Yeah, right.
And then I have Xanathars and Tasha's for the next two.
OK. Unfortunately, George, you got
0. I told you.
(09:50):
There you go. That's a big hot 0 because when
I get these they go into a list and I never get the book sick.
There you go. Oh man.
Gaber, Dylan, which one you wantus to go next?
Well, I had a lot of similar answers to George, so I guess.
I'll go. Let's run.
Maybe that's the I had. I thought Abduration was from
Xanathars. OK, I thought Glory was from Big
(10:12):
B's. OK.
I thought Open Hand was players Hamburg 2014.
I thought Tricky was Xanathars. I thought Glamour was Tasha's.
OK, that is also 0 correct still.
Yeah, here we go. Zero.
OK. So are we saying that like from
when they first were introduced ever or are we still talking
like the 20/14/2024 rule set well?
(10:32):
20/14/2024 'cause there wasn't there weren't like subclasses in
the same way before that, right?OK, yeah, so so for AB Juror, I
had a Sword Coast. Oh, that's probably right for.
Both of glory I had Xanathars, for open hand I had the DMS
guide, for trickery I had I had Xanathar, and for glamour I had
(10:53):
Tasha's. Guys, that's all wrong.
I'm so sorry. What?
Oh my God, so. I'm gonna I'm gonna risk a
challenge this early. Well.
Here, let me let me reveal and then you can do it.
So here's the game I was playing.
The Abjure Wizard is from the 2024 because it was the.
Collaboration Wizard is what it used to be.
Called so. Mother fucker, I'm so sorry.
(11:15):
OK? Oh my.
God that I didn't. Realize.
Sorry, I didn't realize I was hitting off Shohei Otani hold.
On OK, although glory is from mythic odysseys of Pharaoh, so
there was not big he's got warrior of the open hand was the
same bullshit because it was theway of the.
Open Way of the Open. Hand believable surgery.
(11:37):
Domain is just standard PHP 2014called the same thing original.
Yeah, you don't think of it as original, but it is.
And then college glamour is Xanathar is not Tasha so.
Tasha. So I think the trigger even
pushed you. Yeah.
All right. So fortunately, right out the
gate, we go into a trap. This is AD 4.
(11:58):
Now I know I gotta listen to. Every Yeah, we gotta listen to
We gotta fucking lost. Good here this is bad, early
picky and the rest of them but that.
Was well, now I can't I'm. Sure, we're there, I have
everything. So that is 2 points of damage to
everyone as I don't know you come across can.
We go back in or no? Yeah, let me go.
Ahead. Oh, I was hoping Gabe just got
(12:19):
dropped off. No, takes you down.
Trickery was in 2014, so it would have been what?
Life, Life and light. Trickery light.
Trickery and death. Trickery domains.
DMS guide. Yeah, Life, light, trickery,
nature. Nature was the last cleric.
(12:41):
Yeah, there are a lot of clerics.
OK. So we're doing actually rules
with various, OK. Just wait till round 3 because
it's all that kind of bullshit. Alright, you know what?
I thought this was a friendly game.
I'm I'm locked in now. My gloves are off.
I I said I was gonna get the lowest score maybe ever.
That's the goal. Let's go.
(13:03):
So trap. Now that we talked about classes
and subclasses, I know Dylan said he was a warlock, Faye
Warlock, but what about the restof you guys?
What are George the Giant and Sergey the Garrulous?
Barbarian level bar Gnosis. By the end.
I'm gonna say a barred paladin multi class.
Whoa. Shocker.
(13:25):
Crazy. Has to be a multiclass.
Can't even fake a character who's not a multiclass.
There you go. So now, as you head deeper into
the wilderness, you begin to feel overwhelmed by the
unfamiliar terrain, and following Stern Avar the
Enchanter begins to seem impossible.
Question 3. The endless possibilities of
interacting with the world in deity can be very intimidating
(13:47):
to new adventurers. The 2024 rules have helped
quantify this by collating most things a character can do into
11 standard actions. This question We're going to
name as many of these standard actions as you can, round Robin
style. Last man standing wins, so
Buzzin if you want to go first. But I'm going first.
All right, so hit it off George,Round Robin attack.
(14:09):
That's one. Dash.
That's two. Utilize.
That's three. Back to George.
Oh, back to me. Yeah, magic.
That's 4. Dodge.
That's another one. Influence.
That's another one. Fuck, I want that one.
Grapple. George Grapple is not an action,
it's part of the Attack action. Part of the attack action stuff,
part of the. Attack.
Make an unarmed strike to grapple.
(14:31):
So the George. In 2024, isn't grapple and shove
separate actions? They're they're.
Part of the attack. Options on an arm strike.
Yeah. So back to Gabe now.
Just down to Gabe and Dylan. I'll go disengage, disengage.
Study. Study.
Search. OK.
Help. Help.
(14:51):
God damn it. Think you got one more game if
you can get it. I think they're. 12 I'm out.
I got nothing man. The last one was the health
action, so those points will go to Dylan.
Dylan Romeo D4. Damn.
Your XD. Said help.
I think it was Hyde was the lastHyde.
Hi, they're right. Now my challenge tackles are up,
gang. Yeah, I.
(15:12):
Don't know he's ready for it. Like what's wrong here?
Hyde is the last one, so go ahead and not in love with that
D4 fucking. I was just.
That's for playing with kids. That's for playing with kids.
Truly just looking at a sheet three like listed the grapple
and shove. Into the positives, baby where?
Three, he's taking you taking it.
(15:32):
Yeah. No, it's one.
They're not standard actions. It's there's a lot under that,
right? Like a study action, right?
An archive that's. Like a player guide because
they're so different than the attack.
Yeah, it's like, yeah, yeah, allthe things you can do.
And not necessarily what they call, but yeah.
So taking a minute to breathe, getting the garrulous, Dylan the
Teleporte boy and George the giant, you can take a minute to
(15:54):
breathe. And you all take a search action
to track the movements of the enchanter.
You follow the trail until you reach a hidden valley in the
mountains. Standing in the center is a tall
winding tower with a large telescope poking out the top.
So it's probably his house. So as you approach the base of
the tower, which seems strangelyto protect.
(16:16):
Probably his house. It's probably who.
Else is living at a weird tower in the house.
With the shape of his head, yeah.
Yeah, there's a sign that says Sturdivar, the enchanter's
house. No, right here.
So as you approach the base of the tower, it seems strangely
unprotected. The flimsy wooden door squeaks
as you push it open, but as you step inside, you feel a sense of
(16:37):
dread. The room is dark and cool, with
fog seeping from the walls, which seem to be blank with no
path forward. You hear a shriek as hours
flutter through the rafters, eyeing your party in a defensive
way. It looks like this place is both
warded and guarded. Question 4.
Which of the following effects is not included in the spell
Guards and Wars? Oh no.
(17:00):
This one's just for you guys. Oh my God.
Bog fills all corridors, heavilyobscuring them and causing
creatures to get lost. B.
All doors are magically locked. Can be covered with illusions.
CA flock of familiars is summoned, lasting for the
duration of the spell but unableto leave the area.
Or D Webs fill all staircases, creating difficult terrain.
Oh my bog, I wasn't solid. I believe it is CI.
(17:22):
Don't think there's a flock of familiars that summoned.
Gabe, that is correct. Not only can you not do that
flock of familiars doesn't existin 2024.
That's. Correct.
Yeah, go. Ahead and roll that D4 Holy, you
can't do a bunch of. Other stuff face bar on the
wrong. Just on the wrong tab.
One XP maybe, like I knew I'd. Get just letting the one total
(17:43):
party skill listeners know I'm positive.
I know one point. George knew it.
Let the record show. It's OK I I gotta be better on
my windows but I've gotta. Do that.
Because I don't trust the spacebar.
Yes, that's a matter of never test the spacebar.
So yeah, you can cast like suggestions, stinking cloud, a
bunch of other little things, but not flock.
No, there's no, no guards and guards and wards.
(18:04):
Which kind of feels, yeah. Not, shockingly enough.
Yeah, all right. So you reach towards one of the
owls who really shouldn't be there, and as your hand closes
around it, you instead find a key inscribed at the words.
The password is password. Guys, the password's password.
And as you say the word password, the effects of the
spell slowly fade, revealing a door on the fall side of the
(18:27):
room. Using the key, you can unlock
the door and proceed up the tower.
You climb up the cramped staircase and emerge into a
large chamber. You can't see the floor or the
walls because the room is covered head to toe in gold.
Silver, gems, More wealth than you have seen in one place.
Question #5 Currency in D&D usescopper, silver, and gold pieces,
(18:50):
each worth 10 of the previous. This makes tracking expenditures
easy, but some players have a tough time understanding the
relative value of this currency system.
What is the approximate value ofa gold piece in U.S. dollars?
And just as a caveat, I'm using the like consumer pricing index
method of bundle of goods, basically basket of goods.
George. Question.
(19:11):
George. I believe it's $250 per gold
piece 2. 150 OK. Are we just closest answer?
Closest one. Yeah, closest one wins we're.
Not playing prices right, Right if I.
Have played prices right but I won't do it for you because I
didn't say it ahead of time. Don't do that to me.
One gold piece. One gold piece is worth 1 gold
piece. Yeah, yeah.
(19:32):
So of of what it is based off ofthe things that you can buy with
one gold piece, I'm going to sayabout $25. $25 OK, Gabe.
I'm going to challenge the central question and say there
is a fourth type of currency in D&D that is not copper, silver
or gold. You know what?
I'll give you a bonus point for calling out Electrum, but that's
not a. Challenge that.
(19:55):
Bonus point. Bonus point for a platinum.
George, there you go. OK, that's 2.
But do you have an answer for the?
Day. I will say gold is probably
closest to, let's call it $140. I think that makes Gabe the
closest. The answer is from the
calculation that I saw 106 dollars per gold piece.
(20:18):
So roll that D4 game. Ohh baby.
Just a fun aside, the raw weightof a gold piece, if it's like an
8 oz coin would be about $670. So not holding its value, yeah.
Full 4 XP on that one game holy shit.
Also for reference, a comfortable lifestyle is 2 gold
pieces per day which would be about $77,000 per year.
(20:41):
So kind of lines up that way. Don't.
We wish that gang, yeah. Exactly which comfortable
lifestyle? How comfortable.
Services are a little less expensive than that line because
back in the medieval period services are going to be cheaper
than raw goods, whereas in kind of modern day that flips but.
Yeah. I think I was thinking more
along the line of services and that's where I got the lower,
(21:03):
yeah. That it's all adjusted for
whatever, but yeah, about 106 bucks.
So hundred piece gold piece or $100 gold piece is a really nice
conversion. That is a nice little even
thing. Is that based on 2024 prices?
That is based on 2024 prices. Yes, that's my number is
definitely outdated from. 20 I did steal the math from somebody
(21:24):
that I forgot to write it down, but I I started trying to
calculate it out. I was like.
No, yeah, mine was also a stolenequation that seemed very
reputable and. Credit to the people actually
doing the math. Credit to the people look it up
on Reddit. Thank you accountant.
A few accountants. So as you're in this treasure
room and you grasp for the gold, the piles of coin actually fade
(21:44):
away, ending up being illusory as you grab them.
But not all the treasure was an illusion.
While most chests lay empty, your keen eyes caught a few with
a false bottom. And within are a set of magic
items. Dave.
So before we move on to round two, I'm going to do a magic
item draft mini game. I've created 6 magical items
(22:07):
that will give you bonus effects.
We're going to snake draft stylethrough them.
You'll each get 2, so go ahead and roll that D20 to give me the
order. Oh I love this so much. 14 so
much. 20, not 20. What the 2?
Dash 20s OK roll. Roll on.
Oh man. 10. 15. OK, so Dylan then George.
(22:27):
So here are the magical items. We have the Axe of the
Berserker, which if you declare before a question, you can
double the points if correct or you lose the points if you're
wrong though. So a little bit of like a
reckless attack. It's three charges.
All these are three charges. This one, you only consume a
charge if you get the bonus. So you can lose as much as you
want, but you can you can. Keep losing points as much as
(22:48):
you want. The Ring of true seeing
eliminate one incorrect multiplechoice answer.
Also three charges, the Cloak ofEvasion, avoid any effects of a
damage trap if everyone gets it wrong.
Also three chargers, the Boots of Speed, jump to the front of
the Buzz order, the Rod of Dispelling cancel the effect of
another player's item when they use it, and the Gloves of
Thievery when an opponent gets aquestion right, you can steal
(23:11):
half the points they rolled. Oh.
Man. So.
OK, got it. I know what I fucking want and I
know they're both going to be gone.
I'll do the cancel the effect ofsomeone's.
OK, so don't get go out of. Dispelling away, you old troll.
Next with the game. I'll take jump to the front of
(23:32):
the buzz order. Oh my God, those were literally
the two. OK.
George 1/2. OK, I'm gonna take if I if I
take the ring of true seeing andI buzz in first, can I?
Yeah, I will. I will only reveal it for you.
Yes. Correct.
OK, I'm gonna take the ring of true seeing and I'm going to
take the gloves. All right, back to Gabe.
(23:56):
I'll take that axe, baby. The.
Axe the berserker and then finally Dylan.
I think that leaves you with theCloak of Evasion.
So. If you all miss another
question, you will be immune from the damage and all those
have three charges, so keep track of that.
All right, I got it. There we go.
So as the party arms yourself with these artifacts, you feel
newfound confidence as you venture further up the tower.
(24:18):
This is the best game. Here we go.
Can we get a score check before we hop into Round 2 here?
-2. 1. 60. My gosh.
OK, Hey, a lot of a lot of movement can happen AD 6 role.
You can jump right up there, right?
Absolutely right. Everything's about to change.
(24:39):
Reading noble adventures, it is I, Lord Mitch the Magnificent.
If this missive reaches your ears, it means fate has dealt me
a troublesome hand. I have been waylaid upon my
return from the storied city of Waterdeep.
I must ensure that I have all myaffairs in order in case heroes
fail to rescue me. So let me speak plainly and
clearly. If you've found your journey
(25:01):
aboard Bus 1 to be a delightful 1 thus far, I beseech thee lend
us your favour. Share word of our podcast with
your companions and leave your mark of approval upon the
Scrolls of review. We delight in crafting these
adventures for your ears, and the whispers of loyal listeners
are the truest magic that helps our fellowship grow.
(25:22):
Now then, word reaches me that last week you embarked upon a
most curious of quest to unmask the Slayer.
From the Chronicles of Halloween, it seems the valiant
Paige Brooks unmasked the villainous Michael Myers
himself. A golden audience point and
heart he saw to you, Paige. Now I have a special question
(25:45):
for those of you who like to delve into Dungeons and fight
Dragons. The game of DMD uses a set of
polyhedral dice to determine successes, damage, and more.
How many dice are in a standard set of polyhedral dice?
Again, how many dice are in a standard set for D&D?
(26:05):
Think you know the answer? Make sure to to cast sending and
let us know in the comments under the episode or on our
Instagram at Bus 1 trivia and you could win a shady audience
point of your very own. Now, given that if you're seeing
this, I've been captured, let's go check back in on the help
that I'm sure is coming. All right, so starting off round
(26:29):
two, you emerge into what seems to be some kind of Armory.
Every sort of weapon and armor you can imagine is on stands and
racks, ready to equip a small army.
On the far wall is a large, featureless door with eight
slots carved into the stone beside it.
Question 6. The 2024 rules have given a huge
boost to Marshall characters by introducing weapon Masteries.
(26:51):
These new properties allow trained combatants to add extra
effects to their weapon attacks, such as pushing an enemy back or
knocking them prone. Out of all the weapons in the
2024 PHP, what is the most common weapon?
Master George? Whoa.
I'm going to say. SAP, SAP, SAP is incorrect,
(27:15):
George. That's sorry, Dylan.
I'm going to say Vex. Dylan, that is correct.
There are 8 weapons with the Vexproperty, so that's one D6
experience points to you. Those were my top 2 fellas.
That's what I thought as well. There you go it's a lot of
roogie weapons short boat, whichmakes sense right?
You get the extra advantage, butit's vex with eight slow has
(27:35):
seven SAP has 6 topple is five nick and push have 4 grazing
cleaver too. So that's kind of how that.
Breaks. I wouldn't have thought slow was
that high. So now we're doing the D6.
D6 Perfect. I was about to pass me in one
roll. 6 Yep, yeah. I fucking do it.
There you go. No insane.
Hotter than Dylan in that I've ever met in my life.
(27:56):
Wow. God damn it.
So as you take one of each of the vexing weapons, they slide
perfectly into the 8 slots. With the final blade placed, the
door slides open, revealing the path upwards there.
Was a hint in the question. There was a hint there.
Were how many there were. There you go.
I mean, that wouldn't have helped you at all, the little.
Yeah, there. Are 8 of.
(28:17):
Well, I know she tried 8 weapons, yeah.
Fully I know the number. The next floor contains a set of
workstations spaced evenly around the perimeter of the
room. It seems this enchanter fellow
is quite crafty. Near each station is a gemstone
embedded in the wall, with similar gems in the floor and
the center of the room. Question 7.
(28:39):
Weapons aren't the only thing that got a boost in 2024.
Tool proficiencies have been improved with more defined use
cases and set DC's for certain actions.
For each of the following tools, where I again have 5, what
ability score is officially associated with them?
So I'm gonna give you 5 sets of tools.
You have to tell me what what ability each of them uses.
OK, OK, gotcha. OK, so.
(29:00):
Your tools are painters supplies, carpenters tools,
orgery kit, alchemist supplies, and musical instruments.
OK. A couple that I'm like, I'm
pretty positive it's this and there's a couple that can just
go bite me. I actually do know because we
just did a homebrew that had to do with tools, and I actually do
(29:21):
remember a few of them because we looked at those earlier.
Nice. Or at least I did.
I don't know about you all, I. Certainly don't know.
Not there's no excuses what you're telling me.
No. Bummer.
OK, well, OK, I know what this is.
Yeah, buzzing. When you're ready, whoever wants
to to hop in there. I went first last time.
All right, Gabe. I want to try it.
I know at least one of these is wrong.
(29:41):
I'm going to say painters is charisma.
I'm going to say carpenters is strength.
I'm going to say Forgery is Dex,Alchemist is Intelligence, and
Musical instrument is also Charisma.
If that's four out of five, I'll.
Take four out of five. Mine I had charisma for painter
supplies, strength for carpenters.
I had charisma for forgery kit, intelligence for alchemists, and
(30:04):
charisma for instrument. That's three out of five.
Wow. And then Dylan.
I I I just heard something. I have both a list and a
challenge. Oh, OK, OK, hit the list.
So it's I think it's wisdom for painters, strength for
carpenters, and I think it's decks for a smithing tools
(30:25):
check, not forge unless it's. Forgery.
Forgery. Forgery.
Yes, forgery tools as in forgery.
OK sorry I thought it you said forge kit then never mind for.
The challenges. Play the challenge.
Back if I'm allowed to 'cause I don't, I don't know, I thought
it was just a forge kit and I was like, oh, forgery kit, Yeah,
forgery kit I will is still Dex then Alchemy, intelligence and
(30:49):
musical is charisma. That's 5 for five Dylan, I got
it. So painter supplies is wisdom
that is so I had wisdom across to that, which is weird.
I don't know why that's wisdom. Cartographers tools is like also
wisdom that. I know that's.
I thought Brewer's tool should be Constitution, but I.
Think Brewer's tool should be constitution.
(31:09):
I agree. Sorry, for some reason I was.
Like, oh, he's doing Fords instead of smithing.
And I was like, oh, whoa, wait. Smithing tool is.
George said it. I was like, I heard it.
He I think he said Fords. And I was like, what?
Oh no. OK, you got.
Him OK. Yeah.
So build that D6, roll that D6 here.
Comes another fucking 6. Yep. 4.
(31:30):
Four. There you go.
So as you make your way to each station, you use your skills to
create with each set of tools. Maybe a nice who who wants to
make like a nice little wooden thing?
What would you make out of wood?A big club, A big.
Club. Out of wood.
Does our paladin Bard want to maybe play a musical?
It's. Yeah, I'll play a little.
(31:50):
And then would our warlock like to do make make a potion, do a
forgery? Paint something.
I'm probably making jewelry for myself, just like a little like
earring. Good stuff.
Just trying that out just like alittle.
Thank you for being unhelpful. So as you make something on each
of these stations, yes, the lights, the gems in the wall
(32:13):
light up and then matching in the floor light up as well, and
a staircase swivels up and risesfrom the center of the room,
allowing you to move forward to the next floor.
As you ascend, you enter the next floor where you see a
collection of bottles with various liquids swirling inside.
Behind them, a wall of fire covers what seems to be the exit
(32:34):
to the room. Question 8.
Potions have undergone some changes in the new edition, with
the most fun in my opinion beingthe ability to mix potion
effects. When you drink a potion while
under the effects of another, you roll on AD 100 table to
determine the resulting effect. Which of the following multiple
choice is not an effect on the mixing potions table?
(32:55):
A1. Potion loses its effect, the
other stays the same. B.
Both potions lose their effect and you gain a random third
potion effect. C Both potions work normally or
AD Only one potion works but theeffect becomes permanent.
Got a buzz, George? I believe D is not a thing that
can happen. The effect cannot become
(33:16):
permanent. If you roll A-100, George, the
potion effect becomes permanent until dispelled.
What if until dispelled comes permanent?
Yeah. All right, all right.
It says the word, so there's no duration.
There's no duration exactly. There you go.
It's permanent unless. The example it gives for healing
is like like you get a permanentincrease to your Max HP or
(33:36):
something. Like sure, sure, sure.
Yeah. Gabe, you wanna take stab?
I'll. Take a stab.
I don't think, I don't think C exists.
I think, I don't think you get to just have them as they are.
Gabe that you can have them bothas they are.
There is a chance that both of them work.
Dylan, 5050. 5050 between what are the 2 again one.
Loses the effect, or they both lose the effect, but you get a
third effect that takes over instead.
(33:59):
I think it's the third effect. That is correct, Dylan.
That is not an option. You can lose one or the other.
They can both work. If you roll like the lowest on
the table, you explode and then there's one where both lose
effect and you get effect of a random poison too.
So bad things can happen. Did not know this table existed.
It's it's, I didn't either untilI was researching for this and I
(34:20):
was like, this is the coolest table I've ever.
Seen I was about to challenge you on the entire veracity of
the. The only reason I didn't was
because I've had to do this for for children.
They mix potions, mix potions all the time.
That's. So they're like.
This has to be good, right? And I was like, oh.
I've. Seen a lot of like homebrew ones
(34:40):
but now it's officially in the book.
It's so neat. That is so wild.
I'm going to make our DM's life from living hell.
Yeah it's so much fun. That's insane.
So. Only two.
This time. Only two with the D6.
Oh my God, he's running away with it.
Kellen us. As your mind begins to tie
itself into a knot, trying to deduce the right way to to
choose the right potion, a senseof interestingly pushes you
(35:01):
forward and you each just down 1gulp of each walk through the
fire and miraculously it works. Hey.
And you go through the stairs, but you don't know if you rolled
well on that table or not. No one exploded, so we're good
to go. This is a dream, no
consequences. This is a dream.
Everybody does one piece and then you wake up back.
It never went through, and it was all the dream.
(35:23):
As you climb the stairs into thenext floor, you begin to see
your breath as the air around you grows frigid.
In this room, you see 4 clouded blocks of ice with what seems to
be a creature frozen inside of each of them.
In front of you are 4 empty pedestals, each one shorter than
the last. Question 9.
The 2025 Monster Manual not onlyreworked every step lock in the
(35:47):
original book, but introduced 87brand new creatures, including
some legendary foes for higher level parties.
Rank the following creatures in terms of challenge rating.
So I'm going to give you 4 of these legendary foes.
You got to put them in order. Dude so.
The monsters are the BLOB of Annihilation, the Colossus, the
(36:07):
Elemental Cataclysm, and the Animal Lord George.
Yep, I would like to use my ringof true CA.
I'll. Know which one is the lowest
challenge rating please. That you know what I will send
you, You know I'm gonna have Gabe and Dylan close their eyes.
I'm gonna write it down on a piece of paper and show it to.
You. Yeah, we can do that.
(36:29):
That work. Yep, no, put the.
Honor system. It's all the honor system, all
right? Yeah, he hasn't.
Shown it yet? He hasn't shown it yet.
OK, close your eyes. Look, nobody likes it.
I got my eyes closed. Can you read that?
Yes, and it's what I thought. There you go.
Cool. Perfect.
So that's one charge of your router, true, seeing your first
step. So do you want to take a stab?
Yes, I think top challenge rating is the BLOB of
Annihilation, followed by the Elemental Cataclysm, followed by
(36:52):
the Colossus, followed by the Animal Lord.
OK. I'm just going to see who gets
closest at the end, OK? I'm going to flip Elemental
Cataclysm, BLOB of Annihilation,Colossus, Animal Lord.
OK. And Gabe?
I know that animal Lord is challenge rating 20, but that's
all that I know and I think someof these went lower than that.
(37:16):
I went BLOB of Annihilation, Animal Lord Colossus, Elemental
Cataclysm. George, you'll get the points.
The correct order is Colossus at25, BLOB at 23, Elemental at 22
and the Animal Lord is at 20, which is the lowest of that list
I thought. BLOB was 30.
I thought BLOB was like a the. Cigar.
Yeah, they didn't do Blobby think over to ask.
Yeah, blobbies when the club Gary.
(37:38):
Yeah, really, really scary. So roll that D6.
Roll that good D6. Get those points, George.
Get on those points, Big 6. On one I should have said
anything. Come on.
Stay in the negative. Stay in the negatives.
Three. One point.
One point. Is it the positives?
So yeah. So as your characters like lift
these blocks of ice and wipe away the fog, you see the
horrifying visages of these monsters and you put them on the
(38:01):
pillars in order of the challenge rating and the
pedestal sink into the floor andopposite you the wall slides
open. So before you enter the next
room you are briefly overwhelmedby a magical pulse coming from
the floor above. Over the pressure you hear the
screams of Lord Mitch the Magnificent calling out in pain.
You were getting close, but you still have one more room to go.
(38:25):
You rush in and stop suddenly. This room is smaller than the
rest, with a single door on the far wall.
However, hundreds of tiny wingedkeys zip around through the air.
You'll have to be quite fast to find and catch the right one in
time. Question 10.
While standard movement speed isaround 3330 feet per round in
D&D, spells and class abilities can help you move faster.
(38:48):
Fans of mid maxing will know that with enough dedication, you
can stack these abilities into an absolutely broken character
build TM. For broken builds, what is the
maximum speed you can achieve inone round using only the 2024
rules? Closest wins.
Do some math really fast. Yeah, quick, quick mental math.
(39:08):
Closest wins. Closest wins, right?
I've got my number. Yeah, this number I'll wait for.
Specifically not like this is movement, right?
Yeah, yeah, counting. Like I can teleport to another
dimension. This is purely speed.
How fast can you increase your speed like?
Yeah, point of clarity, you saidusing only the 2024 rules,
right? That is correct.
In one. Round.
(39:29):
In one round. One round spells, species or
other. Creatures or I guess one round.
Yeah, your turn is what? I'm no spells, species or other
things from from previous editions.
Not from, no. Not nothing from 2014.
All 2024. All 2024.
Oh, actually, it can be even more.
Oh no. Oh, no.
All right. Yeah.
When you get when everyone has it locked in, we can start with
George. I have one more point of
(39:50):
clarity. Yeah.
Can people have cast stuff on you?
No. Yes, people.
Can cast stuff on you. Yes, yes, people can cast stuff.
On 100%. Yeah, percent anything in 2024.
You're welcome. My guess is 860 feet in one
round 8. 160 feet. OK, Dylan, you're next.
Yeah, I'll just go with a littleunder.
(40:13):
I'll just go 741, guys. Gabe, So I'm trying to do the
math right. The fastest species is going to
be a Goliath at a 35 foot walk speed.
You could sacrifice 10 feet of speed to do 30 feet of jump if
you have that cast on you. Long strata gives you another
10. You could start taking some monk
levels to get at least another plus 20 or so, maybe even 25.
(40:35):
So we're moving around somethinglike 90 as a base.
Then you could move dash, bonus action dash.
You could be hasted to double. Points for showing your work.
And have the I like some action.I have the work here so I'm
guest checking cross. Referencing it I.
Think it's something like 90 times or I think you guys are
(40:58):
too high but but other people casting stuff on you.
I'll go 640. OK, Does that make George the
highest? George is the highest.
That's points for George. Based on the math that I saw,
the correct answer is 4870 feet per round.
Shit, so walk us through it. A monk, Ranger, barbarian,
fighter multiclass so you get action surge and all that stuff.
(41:20):
I get all that, but even with that.
Yeah, and then you like boon of speed artifacts with major
beneficial booneries. Speed a dissonant whispers
opportunity attack spell that like gets you an extra move.
Yeah, so it's total bullshit. Bullshit.
Yeah, it's total bullshit. Not just how fast could you
move? How fast could a creature be a
(41:43):
fake? Creature move, yes, and that,
just for reference, that's about553 mph for that 6 seconds.
Wow, so George, you'll get to roll your D6 there.
OK bad. Also highest I saw for 2014
looking around is 425,000 and 60so.
Wait 425,000 feet. Per round, it can't even more
(42:07):
bullshit. But I I didn't do too much
research on that one. I just saw somebody that did
some math that looked. And the number, the number I
want to challenge. Wait, yeah, I, I feel like I'm
challenging you. I'm.
Challenging that. They are recent.
They're they're math. What was the number you said for
20, 24? 48170, basically 4870.
I assume. I assume it has to do with
(42:28):
artifacts and like items that wedon't usually.
About into that, yeah, I was not.
Artifacts we the plus 40 if theyhave major beneficial
properties, Buddha speed, yeah, all that stuff.
Yeah, we, we almost never factorin when we're making broken
characters. We almost never factor in magic
items because that's just kind of like, oh, you can't just know
you're going to. Yeah.
(42:49):
Exactly. Exactly.
We only do the things that, you know, you can effect.
So yeah, yeah, I was. I was.
Like doing my talent your. DM doesn't let you just make an
artifact level one. Yeah, of course it's 1D6, right?
1D6 yes. All right, I got that rolled to
three again, so I'm up to 4. All right, so George moving at
553 mph. Managed.
(43:11):
To snatch a key out of the sky as it's sipping around this one,
the one that looks more tarnished than the rest so must
have been used most often. It slides perfectly into the
lock in the door, leaving ones last staircase upward.
But before we get into round three, can we do another score
check please? Yes.
I have 4 points. I've been holding at six points,
(43:34):
holding at six. I have. 13.
Geez, 4/6 and 13 stop and can weget just like a magic item
charge check just so we got we know what we're working with
here. I have two ring of true seeings
and three gloves. OK, cool.
I'm full up on my boots and my axe.
I haven't used anything yet. Cool, yeah, I have my Rod of
(43:54):
Dispelling and Cloak of Evasion and I'm ready to use them.
Alright. Here we go, Round 3.
Bursting into Sternovar, the Enchanter's Sanctum, you are
taken by a horrifying sight. Lord Mitch the Magnificent sits
strapped to a bench in the center of the room with the
telescope light device you saw from outside, pouring what seems
(44:14):
to be liquid Starlight into his eyes.
Sternovar stands with his arms wide, chanting and concentrating
on this ritual, then turns to meet your gaze.
Roll initiative. So this round will work a little
differently than the rest of thegame.
We're gonna roll a D20 right nowfor an initiative order.
You'll still have to buzz, but Ihave a list of possible actions
(44:38):
that each have a question associated with them.
So I have 5 possible actions, and you get to pick the order
that three of them go in. So on your turn also for each
question I'm giving a combat scenario.
So I'll just say a scenario thathappens and you have to tell me
the thing or thing that is the odd one out.
So this is where we get in the I'm actually bullshit.
Let's fuck I've watched that thing of Mercer and then just
(45:00):
going to. Town on it.
Going over, going like I could do that.
Yeah, there you go. Here's the.
Chance find out if I'm wrong? So what's our initiative?
Die for me 14. 18. 1899 so it'llbe Dylan, then George, then
Gabe. Any of us can answer anyone's.
Yeah, yeah, you'll buzz in the answer.
This is just the order that willbasically pick the questions
when they correct. But to start off, question 11,
(45:22):
Sternivar seems to be expecting you, just not so soon.
He snaps at you. There's nothing you can do.
The ritual is almost complete and your Lord will be the
perfect vessel for my master. Still holding his concentration
on the ritual, he uses a readiedaction to pull a potion from his
star covered robe, takes a swig and vanishes.
(45:45):
So that's. The scenarios, motherfucker,
What is it gave? Well.
Before you answer, if you want to lock in your axe, no, I
don't. Well.
We only have so many, so sure, I'll lock in my axe.
Locking in the axe a reckless attack, so you'll get double
dice for this one if you. But but I get nothing if I'm
wrong or I lose. Points if you're wrong.
(46:07):
So it's AD 8 too, so that could be a big swing.
Well, I have AI have a point of clarity is this.
Problem point of clarity by all means.
Can I make an arcana check to see if his invisibility is him
casting a spell to become invisible or if it's a?
It's a potion of invisibility, I'll give you that.
Potion of invisibility, so. He's drinking a potion of
invisibility. OK, I'm then.
I'm not going to use my axe because I don't feel supremely
(46:31):
confident in this, but I don't believe that you can.
He's not casting another spell. I'll I'll say that he I'll say
that you cannot use a readied action to use the utilize
action. That's not quite what I'm going
for there, Gabe. George, do you have a better
answer? You can't use that action when
(46:52):
you are in the middle of doing aritual.
Like you can't cast like use Ready in action when you're in
the middle of casting a ritual. That is one.
There is another one that I'm going.
For and there's another one. There are two things wrong with
that. Oh, I fixated on that and I
didn't even think of it. Oh, you're good, Bells.
I I think it's that the does thepotion.
(47:15):
Oh, yes. OK, so the potion of
invisibility requires your concentration, so you can't be
concentrating on the spelling casting a ritual at the same
time. Not quite.
Dylan, do you have any I. Only had that first one.
Yeah, that first ones good. Honestly, I'm trying to So we
come in, he has, he's. Concentrating.
(47:35):
Honest belt he. Uses a readied action before you
can act to drink a potion of this build.
And yeah, I, I'm having a hard time with this one.
I, I think I'm just gonna have to say no.
I I could throw a a possible oneout there if nobody.
Else. Well, yeah.
Go back. Go back around to Gabe.
OK, Gabe, we'll go back around. No, go back in.
Order Dylan says this. Oh yeah, no.
(47:56):
No, I, I, I genuinely don't. I, I, I I other than what George
was saying, I can't for some reason I'm not seeing it.
So I I. I think I have.
Something I could just call it and give George the points here
I. Have a possible challenge here?
OK, well I'll say the answer andthen you can challenge.
So first, if you're concentrating, it requires for a
ritual. It requires your magic action
(48:16):
every turn. So there was no way for him to
ready an action. Yep.
Second, potions are now a bonus action, and you cannot ready a
bonus action. That's so you can't use an
action to drink a potion. That is all correct.
That's all correct. And that's that's where I got
now if you see something I didn't see, Gabe, I can give you
some bonus points. No, that's fair.
(48:37):
I was going to say that you can't ready and spell spell
while you're concentrating on a thing.
Yeah, the push that's. Not what you're doing is not
concentration of potion. I guess I guess this is where
the ambiguity of it all comes in, because it's all all right,
where it's like, all right, technically to concentrate a
specifically on a ritual cast, even though technically you
could just be concentrating on aspell you've already cast.
(49:00):
Yeah. And then also saying I'm doing a
ritual. Also like a ritual, which means
you're. Taking.
Action every turn. Yeah, that's right.
And readying and I guess technically you can't yes, you
can't ready a drinking of a a potion.
However, I would always allow itand that's.
What I was like, I was never right.
So I'm like, no rules is written.
You're completely correct. And that's why I'm like, right,
That's why I couldn't get to it.That's AD 8 for George right
(49:22):
there, George. The points give him the points.
Give him the points and as like time kind of resets.
Oh, what'd you roll, George? Six points 6.
Points. So he takes the the flash to his
lips and then the room shakes with the ritual and he drops the
vial and it shatters because he's not able to drink that
potion and he looks really mad. So now our first person in an
(49:44):
initiative, Dylan, would you like to grapple, attack with a
weapon, cast a spell, help a teammate or hide?
And the question will be associated with that action.
Cast a spell. Pass a spell.
All right, the question is, you unleash magic upon Sternovar,
but spells are his domain. The enchanter grins and waves
away the spell with only a flickof his wrist.
(50:06):
Because he cast Counterspell with a higher level spell slot,
the spell fizzles out and your slot is lost.
All right, Dylan. That is just not how
counterspell works in 2024. What?
I want to use my boots of spell.I'm negative.
He wants to use his boots. There you go.
I'm not very hard to spell it, OK.
Charge, charge, there you go. So yes, that is not how
(50:28):
Counterspell works. But what specifically if you
there's, there's kind of two things.
So counterspell works where the caster you it has nothing to do
with spell levels anymore. It has.
So you cast the spell. The caster then makes a
Constitution saving throw, and also if you if you are
(50:48):
successfully counterspelled, youget to keep your spell slot.
Bingo, you got it. So as as the Teleporte boy, you
feel the magic begin to unravel from you spell, you grit your
teeth, you make that conceive and you force your magic through
striking the enchanter and interrupting his concentration
momentarily pausing the ritual. Now it.
Apologizing for cursing if that's OK, I forget it.
(51:12):
I think I've been saying bullshit.
This whole time but you. Know a second?
It was just like the second gamewas like, I'm going to go to the
jump and no, you're not. Yeah.
So now, George. You're 7 points, 7 points.
Gloves I'm going to take. I'm going to take half of those.
Take three of them. So Dylan, you only get 4.
George, you get 3. Oh, fuck you.
(51:33):
I steal them. Yeah, you.
Steal them, OK? Oh fuck yeah, you have to win
the whole game. I'll I'll let that one happen.
He's letting it happen. There you go, right?
So George, your options are now Grapple, Attack, Help, or Hide.
Grapple is ass. Grapple.
Is. George.
George the Giant lunges torch start of art to grapple.
(51:55):
Him. Dean Schanter makes an
Acrobatics check and rolls to 12.
Even with an 18 strength and proficiency in athletics, a Nat
one on the dye is only an 8 for you, so he manages to avoid your
grapple. All right, George, immediately
it's no. Speed, speed, speed, speed.
Boots of speed, Boots of speed, Boots of speed, Boots of speed
there. You go season Dylan, negate him.
(52:18):
I don't care. There he goes.
I don't care and I'm also going to go AXA Berserker on this one.
Hell yeah, go for it again. Because I know this one.
That is old grapple rules. That is old grapple rules.
You are the the opposed check nolonger exists.
You are making a strength savingthrow I believe against the
(52:39):
grapple check that is being applied.
So bonuses to skills would not come into play whatsoever.
OK, I will be giving that to Gabe in someone can be slightly
more specific. It can be a Strength or
Dexterity saving throw, not justa Strength save.
That's that's pretty good towards.
There's actually an even more specific answer.
(53:01):
It's based on your unarmed strike ability score.
That is the DC for that save. That is correct game.
So with grapple it's no more contested roles.
The DC is 8 plus your strength plus your proficiency.
So in this situation it'd be 15.So even though you rolled in
like you wouldn't roll, he just has to beat that DC that it is a
strength or deck save and then to escape a grapple once they're
(53:24):
already grappled. It is a check of an.
F and you're making checks afterthe fact.
So I'm going to give George 1 little bonus point and then Gabe
you get your double dice crazy barbarian.
Nice, let's go axe six and threefor a total of 9 points.
There you go. Gloves.
Let me have it. Let me have it, George.
Fuck you. I need these.
I need this God damn point so George gets. 4 Gabe gets 95 or
(53:48):
five. Sorry God damn it.
So as as George the Giant lungesfor the grapple, he holds
Sturdivar in the air, lifting above the ground.
His little legs are kicking and Gabe goes in for the the axe
hit. As you make that hit question
14. Sturdivar takes that hit, and
now having lost half his hit points, he has the bloodied
(54:10):
condition. Looking rough and low on spells.
He uses a bonus action to use Arcane Recovery, allowing him to
regain a spell slot, which he then uses to cast fireballs on
the party. Gabe, Arcane recovery happens
over a short rest. You could not do it as a bonus
action. They changed it in 2024.
It is now a bonus action to match the sorcerer thing.
(54:31):
What? Yeah.
George, is that real? Fuck me. 100% yeah.
It's insane. I would like to challenge that I
believe they did not change it. We.
Have a challenge? I am challenging that.
All right, that's the challenge.Drumroll, everybody.
I'm going to go. Ahead and challenge it.
I don't think they changed it either.
I think you're right. George, that is the correct
challenge question. There you go.
(54:55):
So not only George, I will, I will give you the other thing on
there which is just a throwaway thing is bloody and it's not
technically a condition. It just is a thing.
So, but we'll throw that one away.
George, you will get the D8 for that question plus the two D6
for the challenge question. But I answered the question
right. OK, Gabe answered the OK Gabe,
the D8 George gets the 2D6. I agree, I think Gabe gets the
(55:18):
D8. And as as Sternovar begins to
counter up that ball of fire, George realizes something that
doesn't quite add up. All this time, Sternovar has had
the appearance of a wizard, but you can see now that if he has a
bonus action to regain spells, he must be a sorcerer.
With this revelation, you now know the perfect method to
(55:39):
defeat him. What did we roll on damage on
that one? I got a Oh, go ahead, Gabe.
I got 5 on my die. 5:00 Nice. I got a two and a six on my 2D6
for 8:00. Damn, 2 and a six.
Running away with this thing. So there you go, final question,
Question 15 Gabe. It's finally your turn to pick
(55:59):
an action. You have Attack, Help or Hide.
I'm going to help. All right, as you look towards
the ritual, you realize that without proficiency in arcana,
it may be a little out of your league, but your companion may
fare better. You move within 10 feet of Dylan
the Teleporte Boy to give them advantage on their next study
action to analyze the ritual. Gay, I will axe the berserker.
(56:24):
We got nothing to lose. It's the last one.
You need to be within 5 feet of something to give someone the
help action. OK, is there a more correct
answer? That you need to be within 5
feet to help 5 feet of the person being attacked If it is
an attack action that you are doing.
That's correct I think. If it is a skill check in
general, I don't know if that applies as much.
(56:47):
OK, there's there's actually onemore thing if you can pull it
out. You are not allowed to give
someone the help action if you do not have proficiency in the
that's. The third thing, there you go,
Gabe. So yeah, not only 5 feet for
attacks. Otherwise you just have to be
near. So that means whatever.
It just, you know, story purposes.
(57:07):
And then yes, you do need proficiency in the skill to
help. So nice.
While you may not be able to help Gabe, why not just give it
a go? Right?
He's almost done. So even without proficiency, you
roll and you get what, a nap? 20 arcana giving you insight on
the ritual. It looks like Lord Mitch the
Magnificent is still himself thanks to interrupting the
(57:28):
ritual, so all you have to do isfinish off Sternovar.
What'd you get for points there?I haven't well done negate it.
Can I say the Don's about to negate my fucking?
I still get a D fucking new. I absolutely knew when I got a
two. There you go.
Absolutely saw it coming, knowing that it was coming my
(57:52):
way. Good shit.
So now Stern of our on death's door turns away from you and
dives for the open window, trying to escape.
Describe how you finish him off.Oh man, I'll I'll play a song,
I'm going to bonus action, I'll inspire George the Giant with a
(58:14):
bonus action inspiration and I'll give the help action to
Dylan with my action. Nice.
And I'll pop us in like a melon. Is that what?
We're saying you want to get in on this.
They got him. Yeah, Elders blast.
Yeah, so as he dies from the open window.
Propelling. Blast explodes out the window,
(58:38):
his all the mess falling outsideso you don't have to see it, and
you turn back as Lord Mitch the Magnificent loosens his bonds
and wipes away the last dregs ofStarlight that was clotting his
eyes. Thank you, brave heroes, he
says. I don't know if my aura could
hold against the magic much longer.
(58:58):
Come, I shall see you well compensated on our return to
Neverwinter. And with that, can I get the
final scores for the end of our game here?
Unbelievable. Thing if I had known how long we
were going, I would have negatedthat first points grab.
There you go, you. Let George get away with so much
(59:20):
I knew I had. To use it earlier also it would
be. I have 18 which I think is
respectable but not that. Is respectable.
It's very respectable. Yeah, it beats me out because I
have 17, I think. George.
Wow. I have 26 points holy.
Shit, nice. It was the gloves, but it was it
was really the challenge. Yeah.
Challenge. Challenge, you seen me?
(59:41):
Eight. Oh yeah, It would have been tied
with you, Gabe, if I had not. Yeah, not for that challenge.
Good point. Lands at lands, guys.
I was so tough, you couldn't tell me that that was not a
short rest thing. Yeah.
Yeah, well, gang, it looks like we've rolled back into
Neverwinter successful heroes. So that's all the time we have
