Speaker 1 (00:00):
Buy some recliners and comfortably turn half of the events
here into baby of us heads.
Speaker 2 (00:09):
Welcome to UH said, ready to buss?
Speaker 3 (00:13):
Does that sound bad?
Speaker 4 (00:28):
Education budget? We do? We do.
Speaker 1 (00:32):
Come on, Todd, get your computer events.
Speaker 4 (00:35):
Let's yeah, ju ju ju, I'm.
Speaker 5 (00:39):
This works.
Speaker 1 (00:40):
Hey, bus heads, welcome to another exciting episode of bushead Radio.
Guys can hit us up on your very own buzzhead
hotline five eighth five for one three five five four
one three eight oh five or buzz at busadmedia dot com.
And Uh. We were chatting with Christopher Todd the other
(01:03):
day and I said, we were trying to figure out
how how can we help Christopher Todd make money with
his album because they don't make money on basically the
streaming services. And I said, well, you know, a independent
radio station might be kind of cool. Well, when we
tried that, it was called busheid Radio. And unfortunately at
(01:26):
that time we didn't have access to good independent music.
Speaker 4 (01:32):
We had so, I mean, there's some good songs on there,
but yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:35):
But not enough to like. Yeah, I don't know, but anyway,
but now so anyway, I don't know, we may look
back into I don't know, somehow come up with a
what was that app we used? I can't even remember
a funny name top of my head, the four letters. Yeah,
I don't know, but yeah, it's it was literally we
(01:56):
literally had an internet radio station. It played twenty four
to seven. We had commercials programmed in. But ah, the yeah,
the app to broadcast to broad Yeah, so you had
to have an app to create your radio station. But
then you had to have an app that connected your
(02:16):
radio station with the Internet. And it was called but.
Speaker 4 (02:21):
So that's how we it's stood for something.
Speaker 1 (02:25):
Yeah, I don't know how we figured all that out,
but it I mean, it had a scheduler and we
could program in. We programmed the podcast episodes and songs
and commercials and it just But we were so early
in the internet radio days that number one, most cars
didn't have Internet radio where you could like find it
on your radio. You had to like plug in a iPhone.
(02:48):
Now I think you can actually pull up Internet radio
in newer cars, and that's what I you know, I
was like, well, once all cars have Internet radio, then
we might try it again. So anyway, who knows, we
might have to try that again. Dave God Dave is
(03:08):
on a summer movie kick. He says. He says, go
see the new Jurassic Park Jurassic World, which is, you know,
the same thing, except like a prequel. But he said
that's good. And what did he name off any other
I think he said he saw Superman.
Speaker 4 (03:29):
I don't know if he's actually said, but he's been
he's been on a like you said, he's been on
a kick, on a kick.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
And of course we haven't seen no movies because we
don't have a movie to Big Brother started. So what
they did is they they they got the cast and
they had them all meeting and running around the house,
and then they had a surprise guest come in at
the towards the end of the episode, and it was
(03:56):
Rachel from prior seasons. And I don't know, I'm not
a super She's kind of annoying. So anyway, so now
I don't know who these people are, I know, So anyway,
I think so Big Brother went from in the first
few years, it was like sixteen people would come in.
(04:17):
They didn't know each other, they would talk to each other.
Everybody would plot and they would make these alliances and
then they would have these It was basically kind of
like Survivor. And then they would have competitions and then
whoever won was had a household and they picked who
was on the block, and then you voted and you
kick people out. Well, now there's like secrets and mystery
(04:40):
guests and clues that you have to find and weird ai.
It's gotten so complicated and so many things.
Speaker 4 (04:50):
That it's old hidden idols.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
Not hidden idols, but hidden other things. It's just I
don't know, it's like Big Brother kind of go back
to where it was simple, you know, just the people.
So and Dave didn't really realize that Oklahoma didn't have mountains.
Speaker 4 (05:09):
No, we don't have big mountains, but it's.
Speaker 1 (05:11):
We've got hills, yeah we have.
Speaker 4 (05:13):
We have no mountains, no big no, not like an
organ nothing like that.
Speaker 1 (05:17):
No. So if we you've probably heard us talking about
the Gloss Mountains which we took Gretchen to, and those
were just plateaus that were I mean literally you walk
up them on a flat of stairs. Yeah, I mean
that's how big are mountain. Now the Arbuckle Mountains we
drive through, but even the our Buckle Mountains are no
more than a hill, yeah, big gill. So yeah, so
(05:40):
really Oklahoma has no mountain.
Speaker 4 (05:42):
Mountains, but it's not super flat either.
Speaker 1 (05:45):
Well. From so basically you can cut Oklahoma in half
in the middle on I thirty five. From I thirty
five west to the Panhandle, it's flat. It's literally flat.
And then from I thirty five east get we get
a lot more lakes and more trees, and it's a
little more it's not mountainous, but it's hilly. Yeah, but
(06:07):
there's a ton of trees once you get fairly once
you get to Tulsa. From Tulsa to Arkansas, it looks
more like Arkansas. Yeah, it's really windy and but yeah,
so the part that we live in that we grew
up in is flat flat. I mean you can dry
if you go from Enid to the end of the Panhandle.
(06:29):
You know, if you could keep your car before self
driving cars came out, you could go to sleep and
if your car would drive straight, you could go all
the way through the Panhandle and not see anything and
not see a curve or I mean.
Speaker 4 (06:43):
That's the streets.
Speaker 1 (06:44):
Yeah, it's so, it's is ridiculously flat out here.
Speaker 4 (06:49):
Not as flat as North Dakota, but not as flat
as the Dakota's. Yeah, North Dakota, especially Nortekota super flat.
Speaker 1 (06:56):
The thing about Oklahoma is it's flat, but it slopes
so like the Panhandle is like just coming off of
the end of the Rockies, and so the whole state
slopes to the east. So even though it's flat, it's
on an incline. It's a flat incline. So anyway, there
(07:19):
you go. What else did he say? He I think
he's given into watching TikTok.
Speaker 4 (07:26):
Yeah, he's been posting stuff. I see it.
Speaker 1 (07:29):
He said that the Clock family.
Speaker 4 (07:31):
Not sure what the Clock Family is.
Speaker 1 (07:33):
I have a feeling I've probably seen him and just
didn't know it was the Clock family. But I guess
it's a family that plays in a kind of a
band together.
Speaker 4 (07:40):
I guess. I don't know.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
We'll have to look that up. So you guys look
up the Clock family. He says, they're really good. I
guess the daughter I think did he say sings or something.
Speaker 4 (07:50):
I don't know. See it's not that father daughter thing,
is it that?
Speaker 1 (07:55):
I don't know? Anyway, So kudos talk. I don't know.
I'm still enjoying my TikTok and it's still it still
has not been saved. It's just on another extension. Oh
is it the Clarks is it the Clarks? Is that
what he says, Clark Family videos?
Speaker 4 (08:15):
Maybe, so oh okay, yeah, I haven't. I haven't seen it,
but there's a bunch of them, so yeah, okay, the Clarks,
Clark's clocks, whatever.
Speaker 1 (08:25):
Clark's clocks.
Speaker 4 (08:28):
Elvis is going to be in your book.
Speaker 1 (08:30):
So so in my The Banana c Squad book, it's
not like we meet Elvis, but there's Elvis is going
to be a pertinent part of one part of the book.
Speaker 4 (08:44):
Okay, so that part of one part.
Speaker 1 (08:46):
Yeah. So basically, even though so the book is based
on loosely what we did as kids around West Broadway
in the seventies, but I'm also trying to add real
events that happened in nineteen seventy seven. So even though
part of it's made up, you're still going to feel
(09:07):
like you were actually oh you're going to say, oh
I remember that, yeah, or I remember that, or I
remember that. So okay, So when I was when we
were sitting down to start recording podcasts, the first post
that popped up on my Facebook page was a Stranger
Things update. It says nine years ago the adventure began.
(09:29):
Now the final chapter begins Stranger Things has just dropped
or not says they're dropping five teasers tomorrow. So if
you guys needs your stranger things fix, get on Facebook
or probably TikTok or Instagram. But tomorrow five teasers will drop.
Speaker 4 (09:49):
I guess I'm gonna have to get my Netflix turn
back on, so that will be interesting.
Speaker 1 (09:55):
Speaking of Netflix, let me go to that real quick.
The ten most popular streaming shows for the first half
of twenty twenty five. Number one was a Netflix show.
Can you guess what it might have been? No Squid Game?
Speaker 4 (10:23):
Oh, I couldn't watch.
Speaker 1 (10:24):
That's it's the like Oriental with the voices. The voices
don't match the mouth show. I haven't watched it either,
but it was number one on Netflix. Number two, Reacher,
Ohad on Prime Video, number three, The Night Agent on Netflix,
(10:47):
number four, Ginny and Georgia on Netflix. I haven't even
heard of some of these, Severance on Apple Plus, Apple
TV Plus and then nineteen twenty three. Would that be
like a knockoff of Yellowstone? It's a prequel prequel on
Paramount Plus.
Speaker 4 (11:05):
And then there's an eighteen ninety three I.
Speaker 1 (11:07):
Think, huh. And then they're the Pits on Max and
then the Hand Maid's Tale on.
Speaker 4 (11:15):
Hulu, Derek Son, That's good you.
Speaker 1 (11:18):
On Netflix, and then to round out the top ten,
land Man on Paramount Plus.
Speaker 4 (11:23):
Yeah, Landman's good too.
Speaker 1 (11:24):
So if you guys are looking, if you're looking for
a new show to stream, there you go. That's the
top ones for the first half of the year.
Speaker 4 (11:33):
We watched a movie. We watched movies this weekend at
justin Carly's and we watched one of those. It looked
really good. I can't remember what it was called. Oh,
it's called brick.
Speaker 1 (11:43):
Oh that's too funny. Because I started watching it and
noticed the mouth and that's the voices. So I stopped.
I did. It just drives me crazy, so I, well,
we'll stop watching. It did look super interesting.
Speaker 4 (11:55):
It is it's it's yeah. I won't tell you how
it ends, but is it?
Speaker 1 (11:59):
So? Is it work worth watching even though the males
don't match?
Speaker 4 (12:02):
Yeah, I mean, because you kind of after a while,
you kind of forget. And so we were watching it,
callers like, oh, their mouths ain't what made miss matching?
And I didn't even notice. I was like, ah crap.
She's like, well, should we stop it? And I said
I don't care. She just left it going. So we
watched it and it was it was pretty interesting.
Speaker 1 (12:19):
It's funny because I stopped it. I wish Netflix would
come out with a button that I could click, where
only US movies that had English would because now it's
almost like thirty percent of the movies now are foreign
that don't match the voices and you don't know until
(12:42):
you start the movie. Yeah, it's kind of frustrating. Yeah, Basically,
what it amounts to is if there's a movie on
Netflix that seems really cool that you've never seen, it's
not an American it's corn. Yeah, it's just basically that's
the way it is. For I watched the Jaws documentary.
Have you seen that?
Speaker 4 (13:03):
No, I'm just Overjaws. I don't get the whole Shark
Week thing either. What the heck?
Speaker 1 (13:08):
What Shark Week has been going on forever?
Speaker 4 (13:10):
I know how many shark shows can?
Speaker 1 (13:11):
You have a whole bunch? But the Jaws documentary is
the fifty you know. I mean basically they interview Steve everybody,
They interviewed everybody. Yeah, it's super interesting because there's a
lot of stuff that they've never talked about before. Oh,
it's basically the making of the movie well, it's super
interesting if if you remotely like Jaws, which everybody should
(13:37):
check that out.
Speaker 4 (13:39):
I watched when you're talking about those murders and Idaho
the other uh huh.
Speaker 1 (13:44):
And documentary documentary about it. Oh you watched it.
Speaker 4 (13:48):
Yeah, yeah, it's it's it's hard to watch.
Speaker 1 (13:52):
It's I wish. It's just so frustrating, not knowing why
he did it, what caused him to want to kill them?
Speaker 4 (13:59):
Have you seen have you seen it? No, it doesn't
explain it. But after watching it, and I'm like, oh,
he's he's he's a nut. He's just he went to
school studying. He was like a criminologist. Basically, he was
trying to see if he could get away with it.
He made one small mistake. I can't believe they caught
himself fast. They caught him in Pennsylvania, but he made
(14:24):
one may he may have made one mistake to get caught.
Speaker 1 (14:27):
But once they caught him, they had all kinds of evidence.
Oh yeah, that's why he played guilty.
Speaker 4 (14:32):
Yeah, yeah, he did it, and but yeah, it's it's hard.
It was it was random, stotally random. He was going
to school in the town like fifteen miles away.
Speaker 1 (14:44):
Yeah, it just makes no sense.
Speaker 4 (14:47):
Yeah, and zero zero guilt. I mean, you look at him,
it's just that's evil. He's just evil.
Speaker 1 (14:56):
Yeah. So basically I thought this was interesting. It says
that free, so this is streaming. Free services are taking
share away from paid services like Netflix. A bigger concern
for Netflix is that its share of TV viewing is
(15:18):
flat from a year ago, even though streaming gained six percent.
This is also true for Disney. Free advertising supported services
like YouTube and Roku, Channel and two B are stealing
viewers from broadcast and cable.
Speaker 4 (15:36):
I watch a lot of it. I mean, I just
I remember when you know, Cable came out and there's
no commercials. I thought that's pretty cool, you know, but
then actually did they ever get rid of commercials? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (15:49):
Now it's frustrating now that you pay for like Amazon
Prime and some of these and you still have to
watch commercials. At the beginning, it's like, I'm paying, Why
am I watching a commercial?
Speaker 4 (15:59):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (15:59):
It makes no sense. Oh and then it's because you
now you got to pay for the premium service. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (16:06):
Yeah, I think the premium YouTube is like eighty ninety
bucks a month.
Speaker 1 (16:11):
I think that's the one we had. But that's that's
our streaming service is YouTube TV now, so, which is
frustrating because you go through the channels and there's no
channel numbers, so you can't you can't like jump from
I can't go to my favorite channels. I have to
scroll through the whole damn thing every time, so I
(16:32):
don't watch. I almost don't.
Speaker 4 (16:33):
Watch much if it's.
Speaker 1 (16:37):
Not like it's at the top three of my screen
when I turn on YouTube TV, then I rarely scroll
down to see what else is on because it's just
it's too frustrating anyway. Yeah, so what else? So let's
talk real quick. I don't want to get too deep
(16:57):
into it. What do you think about the old Epstein files.
There's a huge controversy going on over them right now.
Basically basically the Trump basically the Biden administration not releasing
any files, and then the Trump saying, hey, if I
get elected, I'll release all the files he gets elected.
(17:19):
Pam Bondi says, I've got the files on my desk,
We'll release them. Then she turns around and says there
were no files, no list. Well list, well she had
any but and okay, so there was no list, but
she they won't release the files. So so anyway, so
what do you what do you think? My thought is
(17:42):
there is no list. Yeah, I think there's a flight list,
but the flight list could mean anything, so you can't.
Speaker 4 (17:48):
Why would there even be a list?
Speaker 1 (17:49):
Well, that was my question. Who's keeping a list?
Speaker 4 (17:52):
And why Stayton?
Speaker 1 (17:54):
Who's who's Yeah, why do you have I mean, I
don't know, I get I'm I don't know.
Speaker 4 (18:00):
So unless they were gonna maybe think about using that
someday in the future, blackmailing people were something.
Speaker 1 (18:05):
Well here's another thought. If there is a list and
Biden had it and they didn't use it, and Trump's
on the list, which you know, here's all the conspiracy theories.
There is a list and the reason it's not being
releases because Trump's on it, Well, then why didn't Biden
release it and win the election? I don't know if
Trump's on the list. Yeah, So anyway, I don't think.
Speaker 4 (18:27):
There is a list.
Speaker 1 (18:28):
I don't think I think there's a flight list which
I've seen, and I think the files are probably just
so boring. I don't know why they do. I hopefully
here pretty soon they'll just release them and everybody will say, oh, well, well, no,
wonder you didn't release them. There's nothing there exact. But
(18:48):
the sad thing is something happened. You know, girls were
I think abused and trafficked. Sure, and only that one
chick's gone to jail, and it couldn't have been a
two person operation. There had to be more. Oh yeah,
and there were dudes that were going there. So so
I don't know. I don't know how it ever gets
(19:09):
to resolve. But but if Trump and Bondie don't release
what they have, it's not going to be a good look.
I mean, you said you were going to do it.
Just really if just release, just release what you got
and let the cards land the land.
Speaker 4 (19:25):
Yeah, I mean the guys did, so it's not like
it's going to hurt a case or anything.
Speaker 1 (19:28):
I mean, yeah, I don't I don't understand why other
than her saying there isn't a list. So anyway, so
there you go. I found an interesting little list. It's
only got four songs, but I thought this was interesting.
This website was talking about this guy wrote a little
(19:52):
article and he said four songs that were more famous
than their singers. So this is basically four songs that
you basically probably know more about the song than you
do about the person or the group that sang it.
So here here they are just four songs. Bitter Sweet Symphony,
(20:17):
Who sang beater? Bittersweet Symphony?
Speaker 4 (20:20):
Oh that's good. I have no idea.
Speaker 1 (20:22):
See, most people probably couldn't tell you it was the verb.
Speaker 4 (20:26):
Oh okay, very.
Speaker 1 (20:30):
Few people within majority can actually name the band that
sings it. The verb had a complicated history, eventually resulting
in three different breakups. Despite their tumultuous time as a band,
they did earn this legacy, making track number two. Play
that funky music, that's casey angel.
Speaker 4 (20:53):
Uh, turn up the volume.
Speaker 1 (20:59):
No, it's not. Play that funky music is wild cherry. Oh,
and that was like their only hit, and so you know,
more people remember the song more than the band. Nobody knows.
Who really knows who the band was?
Speaker 4 (21:16):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (21:16):
Yeah, now this one, I guess I get it, but
I don't get it because this is one of my
probably top ten favorite songs of the history of music.
So I know who sang this one because I love
this song. But I melt with you.
Speaker 5 (21:35):
I melt with you.
Speaker 4 (21:36):
That's a I know it's who is it?
Speaker 1 (21:42):
Modern English?
Speaker 4 (21:43):
Modern English?
Speaker 1 (21:44):
And again, the only reason I know that is because
I super love the song. I mean, I've had it
on my playlist for my you know, ever since it
came out. But most people don't know. They just know
it's a song that they hear in tons of movies,
but then they don't think about out, you know, the
song is more popular than the group. And the last
one is come on, Eileen, Come on, I Leen.
Speaker 4 (22:07):
Oh that's uh the guy with the overalls and uh,
I can't think of the name Dexis. Yeah, so I
would have got that eventually.
Speaker 1 (22:20):
Yeah. So anyway, I thought that was interesting for four
songs that are pretty much way more popular than the
groups that sing them. Yeah. So, speaking of songs, shall
we call Christopher Todd?
Speaker 4 (22:33):
Yeah? Key message. He says he's available.
Speaker 1 (22:36):
He was at a movie. Let's find out what movie
he was at. Uh oh, there goes Oh Toby's calling me.
Shall we get Toby on?
Speaker 4 (22:46):
What's Toby want?
Speaker 1 (22:47):
I don't know, Toby, if you're listening to this. We
were recording when you called, so I couldn't answer because
I don't have your I don't have a plug for
my phone.
Speaker 4 (22:58):
Oh yeah you don't. Oh, okay, where are you out there? Mister?
Speaker 1 (23:02):
Plus plus we're calling Christopher Todd at the exact same time. Yeah,
he got him, got him on there.
Speaker 6 (23:09):
Hello, Jello, Jello, Judy, somebody answer the phone.
Speaker 4 (23:24):
Uh uh oh, maybe I'll call back.
Speaker 7 (23:28):
You reach CCD.
Speaker 5 (23:29):
Leave a message.
Speaker 4 (23:30):
I'll call you right back. Okay, what do we want?
We're gonna say something funny on his answering machine. Uh,
call us back? Just sup, must meet you don't right me?
Speaker 1 (23:42):
Oh, Toby thinks we're live. I think he thinks we're
live every time we Oh, no, do the podcast? Christopher?
Speaker 4 (23:51):
Who are you? Okay? I hung up on him? Here?
Should call back?
Speaker 5 (23:57):
So?
Speaker 4 (23:58):
Uh so? No, Christopher to He's probably on the toilet
or too much popcorn.
Speaker 1 (24:03):
You guys, go go download Love in Space if you
haven't already, And I'm sure Christopher Todd would love to
hear your Go to his his Facebook page or on
one of his streaming and leave reviews and comments and
(24:23):
all that stuff. Hello, Hello, I missed a call.
Speaker 4 (24:28):
Yeah, you missed a call.
Speaker 2 (24:30):
Okay, I had it in my hand. I don't know
how I missed the call.
Speaker 4 (24:35):
That happens sometimes it's said, if.
Speaker 2 (24:37):
I open my buddy look for his keys, like, I
don't know if you didn't fall editor now pants in
the movies in the movie theater.
Speaker 1 (24:46):
Okay, so inquiring minds want to know what movie was it?
Speaker 5 (24:51):
Oh, the New Jurassic Park?
Speaker 1 (24:53):
Oh cool, yeah, Dave.
Speaker 4 (24:55):
Dave said that was pretty good.
Speaker 1 (24:56):
What'd you think I do?
Speaker 5 (24:59):
I liked it. We I mean, my buddy watched.
Speaker 2 (25:01):
The the last one, the Long Crispine and uh, oh.
Speaker 5 (25:10):
No, you think left his keys in the theater. We
saw the last one with.
Speaker 2 (25:18):
What'sn't Dallas, Brice Howard and Chris Pine watched that last night,
me and my buddy, and then we went and saw
the new one today.
Speaker 5 (25:27):
Completely different casts though, Yeah, so is it it's a
prequetely different cast?
Speaker 1 (25:31):
Is it kind of a prequel?
Speaker 5 (25:35):
No, it's thirty years after.
Speaker 2 (25:38):
Oh okay, cool, it's thirty years after, so it's yeah, it's.
Speaker 4 (25:47):
It's good.
Speaker 5 (25:47):
Yeah, I liked it. I liked it.
Speaker 2 (25:50):
A lot of what I liked about it is it.
Speaker 5 (25:54):
It wasn't so action packed, you know, like some of
those movies is like NonStop, Yeah, too much to jay
Let me breathe a little bit.
Speaker 2 (26:01):
Yeah, this one had a lot of slow points where it,
you know, just dealt.
Speaker 4 (26:08):
With it's got Scarlett.
Speaker 2 (26:11):
Well, yeah, it's got scarlet and it was pretty funny.
It was clear that the director towards the first twenty
minutes of movie or so, like, you're scarlets groups from
this direction. Here they are from this point of view.
It's it was so clear.
Speaker 4 (26:26):
Uh darn it, I gotta hate that.
Speaker 1 (26:32):
Well cool, so I'll have to, uh, I don't know,
go to city and watch it. I'm gonna say, I
have to go.
Speaker 2 (26:37):
Yeah, we're gonna go to the city this weekend because
you guys don't have we have theater anywhere in town.
Speaker 1 (26:43):
We have a movie theater an hour away. I think
it's our closest Tonkowall.
Speaker 4 (26:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (26:51):
Yeah, So a town, a town of what tank Wall
can't be twenty two thousand, I.
Speaker 4 (26:57):
Mean, oh, it's ten thousand maybe maybe I don't.
Speaker 1 (26:59):
Yeah, I bet it's about five thousand. They've got a
movie theater, but the town of fifty thousand has no
movie theater.
Speaker 5 (27:06):
Yeah. It's not right, but it's good.
Speaker 1 (27:08):
Their theater is built into their casino. So anyway, yeah,
so we're so, what do you think are you gonna
go see the new Superman movie?
Speaker 2 (27:20):
You know, I keep hearing good things about it, but
they ruined it for me. When they started, you know,
talking political crap before they.
Speaker 5 (27:29):
Even release it.
Speaker 1 (27:30):
Yeah, I don't know why.
Speaker 5 (27:31):
I don't like going to the movies and knowing that I'm
being preached at.
Speaker 1 (27:34):
Well, I can't tell if it's woke or not, because
it's almost I can't tell.
Speaker 4 (27:40):
What they do.
Speaker 2 (27:40):
I think it's not even it's not for me. It's
not even like one side or the other. It's just like,
just tell a story. Stop trying to shove something down
my throat or what side of the fence you're on.
Speaker 5 (27:54):
Just tell a story. It's Superman, you know, just let
me enjoy it.
Speaker 4 (27:59):
My son saw it. He said it was really good.
Speaker 1 (28:00):
Well that yeah, that was one of the deals where
because Superman if you if you like Superman, which I
grew up being a Superman fan, that's all the comic
books I had. It's truth justice in the American way,
but in the movie it's truth justice and the universal way.
Or they change it.
Speaker 4 (28:19):
Oh yeah, yeah, Superman's American.
Speaker 1 (28:22):
Well yeah, so that's that basically, that's what they're saying
is there's some little supposedly woke type of things in it.
Inclusion where I'm with Christopher Todd. Just tell the Superman story.
You know, don't don't be changing it, don't be twisting it.
Speaker 2 (28:40):
Don't don't shove things down my throat. Just tell a
good fantasy story.
Speaker 1 (28:46):
I hear that's what happened with snow White. I don't
know what she was preaching, but nobody, I guess nobody
wanted to go see snow White because.
Speaker 4 (28:53):
It was there's a new snow White.
Speaker 1 (28:55):
Yeah, there was a new snow White. And they something
about the Dwarfs. They don't There was all kinds of
political wokeness correctness in that movie. I guess it's just weird.
Speaker 5 (29:07):
I don't know, no matter, let's it doesn't matter again,
it doesn't matter what side.
Speaker 1 (29:12):
Oh yeah, right either yeah, if if.
Speaker 5 (29:14):
If, if the director comes out and says this movie
is totally left wing, then without even seeing it, Facebook
lights up with all the leftist going. I can't wait
to see this. And if it's the right, it's the
same thing. Yes, finally, I can't wait to see this.
Are we that easily let around? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (29:35):
It's the same way with it. Like a store. If
a store does one thing for one side, the other
side says we're going to boycott shopping. You know, it
just Yeah, it's.
Speaker 2 (29:46):
It's just so weird how easily we're led around, you know, like, oh.
Speaker 1 (29:55):
I think I just watched a video last night on
that how people are easily persuaded, and it was talking
about how everybody thinks they're not And but my deal is,
I know how crazy Trump is and the right wingers,
and I know how crazy Biden was and the left wingers.
(30:15):
So it's not like I don't think one side or
the other is crazy. So I think as long as
you kind of feel like you're in the middle somewhere,
you're not going to be as manipulated as well.
Speaker 2 (30:28):
I'd rather stay in the middle than be just out
of my mind, you know.
Speaker 5 (30:34):
Yeah, Like it's just.
Speaker 4 (30:36):
Yeah, because there's some people that believe everything they say
on the internet.
Speaker 5 (30:39):
It doesn't it doesn't matter.
Speaker 2 (30:40):
It's like you guys, just you gotta realize that, you know,
you're being manipulated.
Speaker 5 (30:49):
It just seems so odd to me that And I
do think people know, but I think they kind of
like to fight.
Speaker 1 (30:56):
Yeah, oh yeah, you know what I mean.
Speaker 8 (30:58):
It's like, I think they do know that a lot
of it is, yes, but they look forward to that
getting on Facebook or anywhere on social media and bickering
with people.
Speaker 1 (31:10):
Yeah, and because I get that on Nina Buzz all
the time. I I mean literally, I remember one time
I posted a picture of the fire department was doing
a demonstration on how they pull people out of a
automobile so they had the jaws of life. And in
the picture was the firemen on West Randolph and they
were and there was cracks in the street and it's
(31:34):
like half the people were complaining about the bad roads
in Nina and I'm like, how what where?
Speaker 5 (31:45):
You're kind of missing the whole point.
Speaker 9 (31:47):
Yeah, that that yeah, yeah, I mean in a million years,
I wouldn't have thought that somebody would have brought I
didn't you know I would anyway, but that, Yeah, I
think people just like to get on there and stir.
Speaker 2 (32:00):
I just think people like to argue. There's people that
get up in the morning and they look forward to that.
That's their Yeah, that's their social their.
Speaker 1 (32:11):
Socialization these days, Yes, I feel sorry for them.
Speaker 5 (32:15):
I wonder I'm going to piss off today. Yeah, I
don't know. I just don't. I don't have the energy
for that. So.
Speaker 4 (32:23):
Uh So, how's the downloads going on the album or
can you can you.
Speaker 5 (32:28):
Tell I think I went copper in Cleveland. I think,
what does that mean? I said, I think I went
copper in Cleveland?
Speaker 2 (32:36):
What what does copper means?
Speaker 5 (32:39):
It's it's not platinum?
Speaker 4 (32:42):
Okay, well that's all right, that's right. Oh I And yes,
I did finally get to listen to it, and it's
it's awesome. Uh, there's a couple of I was I
was like, trying to pick out my favorite song. Satellite
Girl sticks out.
Speaker 5 (32:56):
I don't know, Yeah, I think so.
Speaker 4 (32:58):
Yeah, yeah, he.
Speaker 5 (33:00):
Said, he think that one really really stands out too.
Speaker 4 (33:02):
Yeah, but oh that's super cool. So, and we've been plugging.
Speaker 1 (33:06):
We've been plugging you yeah, I mean we're trying to
figure out how to like super plugging, like how to
get how to get like a worldwide audience.
Speaker 5 (33:15):
I was selling Buddy My last night.
Speaker 2 (33:17):
He was like, what what's your goal with this record?
It's like, well, I'm going to be fifty seven years old.
Speaker 5 (33:22):
I ain't looking to be a rock star.
Speaker 2 (33:24):
I you know, I don't expect to sell millions of copies,
not even close.
Speaker 5 (33:31):
But what I would like somehow is for someone from
the TV show TV shows like uhsident Alien. Oh yeah,
something like that too, fine, Hey, we put these songs
in this show, the Taylor Made.
Speaker 4 (33:50):
For and they do the like and they have some
pretty cool music on that show.
Speaker 5 (33:55):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 4 (33:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (33:57):
I haven't watched you the new season yet. I I
binge watched I.
Speaker 5 (34:02):
Think three, the first three. I just binge watch that.
Speaker 2 (34:06):
So now I gotta I'm kind of waiting for them
all to go up, you know, so then I can
binge watch the whole season.
Speaker 4 (34:12):
Oh yeah, that's not a bad idea.
Speaker 1 (34:14):
So we got to figure out how to get the
songs in front of the producers.
Speaker 5 (34:20):
Yeah, yeah, I just gotta.
Speaker 2 (34:23):
You know, it's been from people who've listened to it.
Speaker 5 (34:27):
It seems to be getting really good.
Speaker 2 (34:28):
I get, you know, I have messages you know, you know,
I hate listen to your record.
Speaker 5 (34:35):
I really really like this.
Speaker 2 (34:36):
But at the same time, I could tell that just
a lot of people there's like I can't be bothered
with listening.
Speaker 5 (34:43):
To that, you know. Yeah, It's it's just the world
we live in. Yeah, you know, it's yeah, it's like
no one wants to I'll tell you what I do hate.
Speaker 2 (34:54):
What I hate is I have been so against Spotify
since its inception. I just think it's wrong. You know
when somebody can get that man and Peter Franz and
gets you know, millions of downloads, gets like, you know whatever,
(35:14):
a few hundred bucks, maybe fifteen hundred bushway. But I
had to get Spotify because you know, the record's up
there and I want to keep track of it.
Speaker 5 (35:24):
And now I'm addicted to Spotify.
Speaker 1 (35:25):
Oh really too funny.
Speaker 5 (35:28):
It's like you can just go, hey, you know what
record I'd like to hear that I've never heard? There
it is, I can listen to the whole thing. I
hate it because every day I'm just going, well, I'll
just listen to this whole record. I haven't listened to
this in decades.
Speaker 4 (35:42):
That's what I was asking you guys the other day
when we were texting. I was like, how is that
different than Napster.
Speaker 1 (35:48):
I was gonna say, well, I pay for Apple Music,
and it's I'm gonna listen to any album on Apple Music,
but I have to pay. So why doesn't Apple share
that money I pay with? Or is that what are
sharing with the artists?
Speaker 2 (36:03):
Probably in this and if you don't have a if
you don't have a subscription, if you have the free version,
like any day now, I should turn into like there'll
be commercials between every song or something like that.
Speaker 1 (36:17):
I've got the I've got the paid for. I don't
do Spotify, I do Apple.
Speaker 5 (36:21):
So yeah, like I said, I just got it because
you know, my buddy was help want the record, who
engineered and kind of made took care of all putting
it up online. He was like, okay, you need a
Spotify count to get a Spotify gum.
Speaker 2 (36:36):
Okay, yeah, before I know, it's like I for like,
listen to the entire Jerry Rafferty City City.
Speaker 5 (36:46):
I feel like.
Speaker 1 (36:48):
It is pretty cool.
Speaker 5 (36:49):
Yeah, I was.
Speaker 4 (36:52):
I listened to it on Pandora and I got the
I don't have those yet. I was. I think there
was two songs left, and all of a sudden it
started playing a totally different artist. I was like, what really,
I didn't touch a button, I didn't hit anything. I
was just sitting here right here, and I was like,
that doesn't sound and it was a I can't remember
(37:13):
what song it was, but it was a real popular song.
Speaker 5 (37:17):
I was.
Speaker 4 (37:19):
Something about I don't know the Beatles or something. I
don't know. I'm like what I had to click buck over.
Speaker 2 (37:26):
And it was Spotify. I'll do that sometimes too, if
you're not on there's a place where you can go
to specifically go to.
Speaker 5 (37:33):
That album, and then it'll play the album. But sometimes
it looks like you're looking at that.
Speaker 2 (37:37):
Album but it's not all there, and it'll connect to
other songs.
Speaker 5 (37:42):
And yeah, yeah, but.
Speaker 2 (37:48):
Yeah, So I've just been listening to the other day,
I was like, I feel like listening to shadow Dancing
by any Kid. Yeah, And so I looked it up
and I my sister had that album and I always
liked that song, and there's a few others on there
that I know.
Speaker 5 (38:05):
But I ended up listening to the whole album. And
this is a great record. It's like a it's a
Bee's record, you know, this is a great record. It's well,
you know, I'm sure Barry wrote the whole.
Speaker 2 (38:16):
Thing, right, but I was like, wow, I would have
probably never thought to listen to that whole record again,
you know.
Speaker 1 (38:25):
Yeah, I like it. I like when I'm watching a
movie and there'll be a song in the movie and
I'll i'll like try to remember like the chorus, and
I'll go to Apple Music and I'll start searching, and
all of a sudden, I'll find the song and I'll
be like wow, and it'll be like could be an
artist that I'd never heard of before. Or I'll wait
to the end of the movie and then I'll pause
(38:46):
and I'll write down all the songs and I'll have
to go through every song to find out which song
was the one. You know. But I found a ton
of good music just watching movies and then going to
Apple Music and tracking them down. Yeah, I mean, and
it's cool that you could do that because without that service. Yeah,
I had never been able to do that.
Speaker 5 (39:05):
Well, I know, I know you what you know. Have
you guys seen it?
Speaker 2 (39:11):
I mean it's been out several years now, but have
you I seen The Newest Star is Born?
Speaker 4 (39:18):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (39:18):
Yeah, oh yeah, I like. I thought it was pretty good.
Speaker 4 (39:20):
It was real good.
Speaker 5 (39:21):
I think it's better than the Christopperson version. Yeah, I
think it's and not only is it better, I think
it's way better.
Speaker 7 (39:28):
I like I like Lady go so well, Yeah, she's
she's great, and I really think there's going to come
a time where Lady Gaga her music career is going.
Speaker 2 (39:38):
To be the secondary thing that she still does because
she's going to be an actress.
Speaker 5 (39:43):
I think she's just she was really great in Houseagucci too.
Speaker 2 (39:47):
She's just she's really natural at it.
Speaker 4 (39:51):
And Bradley he did well singing.
Speaker 1 (39:53):
He actually did really well.
Speaker 5 (39:55):
Yeah, just not just well singing. It's like, let's sit
here watching.
Speaker 2 (39:58):
Like I said, I saw in the theater and it
came out and I think I think the other night
was the second time KP and I've watched it at
home and.
Speaker 5 (40:08):
I just listened.
Speaker 2 (40:10):
Man, he doesn't even sound like Bradley Cooper.
Speaker 5 (40:13):
He's changed his voice. And I read about how Yeah,
it took him six months.
Speaker 2 (40:17):
He just kind of went after that Sam Elliott voice,
you know, and just every day he would just talk
lower and lower and lower until it became natural.
Speaker 4 (40:31):
Well, when I watch Guardians of the Galaxy, I have
to remind myself that he's rocket. He's a little racket.
Speaker 5 (40:38):
Cooper is Is he rocket? Yeah? I'm sure I knew that.
I'm sure I knew that at one point.
Speaker 4 (40:43):
Yeah, it sounds nothing like him. It's crazy.
Speaker 2 (40:46):
Yeah, that's I mean, that's the best one. They can change,
you know, voices or you know. Sometimes it's great when
you watch those animated things and it's like that's clearly.
Speaker 5 (40:56):
Like Woody Harrelson's. Yeah, it's that character.
Speaker 2 (40:59):
So yeah, yeah, but yeah, I just think it's a
way better movie. I watched that last night. I watched
that Captain Phillips with Tom Hanks.
Speaker 4 (41:11):
That's good.
Speaker 2 (41:12):
Yeah, it is good, And I went I read about
it though, and it's like in real life, his crew
suit him because they said that he's the one that
put him in that position in the first place, because
he was told don't go within six hundred miles at
the coast, and to save time, he wandered in about
(41:35):
two hundred and fifty miles from the coast and that's when.
Speaker 5 (41:38):
The pirates got him. Oh really, So yeah, his crew
didn't realize. But apparently other than that, other than making
it more of a hero than.
Speaker 2 (41:47):
Kind of this guy who kind of made a mistake,
apparently the movie's pretty spot onto how everything happened making chance.
Speaker 1 (41:57):
Did you guys hear about the findings on the that
plane in India that went down?
Speaker 4 (42:02):
Yeah, they were off.
Speaker 1 (42:05):
They flipped off the fuel switched. One of the two
pilots flipped off the two fuel switches, and then the
other pilot they don't know which one was which, and
the other pilot said, did you flip off the fuel switches?
And the guy that did it said.
Speaker 4 (42:19):
No, yeah, I'm thinking of was suicide.
Speaker 1 (42:23):
So something weird. Yeah, because they say you can't flip
those off accidentally.
Speaker 4 (42:31):
Oh surely.
Speaker 1 (42:32):
Yeah, there's like little things beside them, so you like
your arm can't brush it. And yeah, so he whoever,
whichever of the two pilots flipped them off, did it
on purpose, Yeah, which is weird.
Speaker 4 (42:44):
Maybe how many people went down on that hundreds, two
hundred and two hundred over two hundred.
Speaker 2 (42:49):
Yeah, so I mean, so, yeah, it's a suicide thing,
but it's gotta be more than just that, you know
what I mean.
Speaker 1 (42:56):
It kind of makes you wonder.
Speaker 2 (42:58):
It's like one guy decides I'm done, I'm taking hundreds
of people with me.
Speaker 5 (43:04):
That's and that's the ultimately selfish acts. Yeah, almost figure.
Speaker 4 (43:11):
Unless you're the guy in A eleven.
Speaker 5 (43:13):
Yeah, something deeper to that.
Speaker 4 (43:16):
But it's happened before. I mean, pilots have Yeah, they've
they've took a.
Speaker 1 (43:21):
Well they think the Korean plane that disappeared we've never found. Yeah,
they think, yeah, they think one of the pilots on
that plane was suicide. And so he flew him into
the ocean somewhere great.
Speaker 4 (43:32):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (43:36):
Anyway, so that's that plane crash that took out Randy
Rhodes like ant eighty that you know, he's guitar player,
and so that was and Rudy Sarzo's book The Bass Player,
he pretty much says that, you know, the the pilot,
you know, he's whacked out from being up all night,
probably smoking weed or whatever. It's just wasn't totally clear.
(43:59):
And he saw his if standing his ex wife. He
was there to argue with him, standing on the side
of the bus, and that's why he started dive bombing.
Speaker 5 (44:09):
At it, you know, freak her out.
Speaker 2 (44:13):
And so they said, ultimately I think that that was
a yeah, suicide thing to do, but she's crazy. Yeah,
let me just take everybody here with me.
Speaker 4 (44:28):
Tell sure. Yeah, I was telling Curtis, I watched A
Night in Idaho over the weekend. We actually I finished
watching it last night about the murders.
Speaker 1 (44:41):
The Coburger murders.
Speaker 4 (44:44):
Yeah that if you haven't seen it, that's really Oh
is this.
Speaker 2 (44:47):
Is this the pact with the dude who pretty much
took brainwash the gal and they ended up killing her kids.
Speaker 4 (44:55):
No, no, the no, the one.
Speaker 1 (44:57):
Who killed the college kids.
Speaker 4 (45:00):
They couldn't figure out why he did.
Speaker 1 (45:01):
He just pled guilty so he wouldn't get the death penalty.
Speaker 5 (45:06):
K KP's stepsister, her daughter went to that school.
Speaker 1 (45:12):
Oh wow, well.
Speaker 5 (45:13):
That was happening. So yeah, oh I got to watch that.
Speaker 4 (45:17):
Yeah, it's it's really it's on Prime and it it
came out before he pled guilty. Yeah. Yeah, because it
says at the end, you know, body bloody bo Yeah,
you know, wow, Yeah, that's it's really interesting to watch.
Speaker 1 (45:31):
Sad.
Speaker 5 (45:32):
What's that.
Speaker 1 (45:34):
Some quzy people in our universe?
Speaker 4 (45:38):
Yes? So did your friend find his keys? Oh?
Speaker 5 (45:42):
Yeah yeah.
Speaker 4 (45:45):
I was like, if you need to go back to
the movie theater, you know, I just lay around talk
to us.
Speaker 5 (45:48):
But yeah, that would suck.
Speaker 1 (45:53):
So here I was going to ask you this question
real quick. So how much? So are you a Paul
McCartney fan?
Speaker 5 (46:00):
Of course?
Speaker 1 (46:01):
So how much would you pay to go see Paul McCartney?
Speaker 2 (46:08):
You know, man, I can't even answer that question because
as soon as I hear hundreds of dollars, I might
come out.
Speaker 5 (46:16):
I don't.
Speaker 1 (46:17):
Yeah, I had I had a couple of years ago.
Well I had two tickets in my basket today and
the total was for just the two tickets plus the
online fees was about six seventy eight. Then I was like,
sitting there, do I want to push the pay button
or not?
Speaker 5 (46:35):
So, yeah, you gotta ask yourself.
Speaker 1 (46:36):
It's like, it's a Wednesday night, it's a two hour
drive there, a two hour drive back. It's it's nosebleed
all the way in the back, right, is it really worth?
You know, at this point in his career? Is it
really worth? So I didn't. I didn't buy him.
Speaker 4 (46:57):
And so on our podcast, our seventy spuzs we did
Paul Cartney had Curtis is like a man, I'm glad
I didn't listen. I'm glad we didn't do this podcast
before I was trying to buy tickets.
Speaker 2 (47:08):
Right because then like, oh jeez, I'm going I'm going, yeah.
Speaker 1 (47:13):
You know, I mean I could you know, you got
a credit card. I could have bought him. I mean,
but it was just I think if it had been
on a weekend, I might have been more apt to
the bottom. But I thought, I'm going to see.
Speaker 5 (47:31):
Dwight yoakum Thursday.
Speaker 1 (47:36):
I've seen Dwight twice.
Speaker 5 (47:38):
I've never seen him. I'm looking forward to it. He's
getting old, which is great. Yeah, it's just like Dwight
oakms A getting old.
Speaker 2 (47:49):
It's supposed to Dwight Yoakam in The Mavericks, but.
Speaker 5 (47:54):
It's kind of battling cancer.
Speaker 2 (47:55):
So he's like his his involvement in the tours, like, look,
if I feel good that day, I'll be there, you know.
If not, then the Mavericks won't be playing, you know. So,
but you know, at points, I think those were one
hundred bucks each. And you know.
Speaker 5 (48:17):
If.
Speaker 2 (48:19):
If KP hadn't said pick a show, we're going to
some shows, I probably wouldn't be going to seeing that either.
It's it's it's not that I want to see you,
you know, it's just I have a hard time justifying
paying that much. But I am more likely nowadays to
pay the price for someone i've never seen that I
(48:42):
really like facy DC came around here, even though it's
really just Angus and Brian. I've never seen a c DC,
so I might pay, you know, a little to go
see that. I just can't justify paying hundreds of dollars.
(49:04):
But you know, I saw it today and Juniane Simmons,
you know, says that fans ruined the music industry and
everybody's like, oh, Dane Simmons is just a jerk, blah
blah blah. It's like, no, June Simmons is exactly on
the money, you know, stuff like Spotify.
Speaker 5 (49:23):
Man, that's why. You know, how else are they going
to make money?
Speaker 1 (49:28):
Yeah, that's true.
Speaker 5 (49:29):
Because I've got a new album, put out a new album.
Everybody just goes to Spotify and they listen to it
for free.
Speaker 2 (49:34):
They don't buy it. So how else they make money? Well,
we're gonna have to charge a lot more to see
us in concert. And that's oh, that's just what happens.
Speaker 1 (49:48):
Here was something fun last night. The uh All American
Rejects are on tour and they just had a show
in Arkansas and they were heading through Oklahom and on
their social media they said, if you want to see
us in a private show, go to TikTok and do
(50:11):
a crazy video to our song and tag us. And
so people that went and did that, they sent them
secret invites to this place over in Tulsa that was
like in this warehouse area and all these people got
to show up for this. I can't remember if they
had to pay or not, but for this little impromptu
(50:35):
concert where like the guys were like jumping off the
stage into the crowd. There was like no seats. Everybody
was just standing and the All American rejects were just
playing just the spur of the moment. So yeah, I thought,
well it cool.
Speaker 2 (50:50):
So those people got that for that, and they got
millions of hits because people were making crazy.
Speaker 5 (50:58):
Videos and tagging them and using their and using their music.
Speaker 2 (51:03):
So that boom runs up, you know, plays now and
then a lot of people are going to turn around,
go what is this song?
Speaker 5 (51:11):
I'm going to buy the song. I'll spend nine sense
for this song. Yeah, that's what I mean.
Speaker 2 (51:15):
It's like, if you can figure out some way too,
if I could figure out some way to tie something
that everybody would get on board with with just one
of the songs on the album, Yeah, that's the.
Speaker 5 (51:28):
Way to get it out there.
Speaker 1 (51:30):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (51:30):
Yeah, maybe I can get Joey bro to sing one
of the songs.
Speaker 1 (51:35):

his videos. Just it's gold, it's humor gold.
Speaker 5 (52:30):

Speaker 4 (52:36):
