Born and raised in St. Petersburg, FL, MCKO is a husband, entrepreneur, and Christian Hip Hop artist who has been rapping since 2018. Prior to that, MCKO began dealing with some spiritual and demonic struggles that tried to get the best of his mental state. With Jesus, he overcame those struggles and fought the enemy's attacks by accepting and honoring God. He is confident that he can do all things through Christ who strengthens him, and he is excited to continue his fight, because with God, he has already won. MCKO is 22-years-old. He became a Christian because Jesus saved him from schizophrenia when he was 18-years-old. He is now "fighting for the truth that set him free". Prior to his journey in rap, he was the Florida State Champion for Muay Thai Kickboxing. He won most of his fights by knockouts; hence, his name "MCKO". The "MC" stands for his legal name, Miguel Cruz, and the term emcee, and the "KO" stands for knockouts.
MCKO is thankful to be delivered, he is happily married, and him and his wife take on their journey moving forward in faith. He is transparent in hopes that it will help bring souls to Christ, and he is dedicated and Kingdom-minded with lots of potential and a heart to live for Christ. He encourages people to love, and he believes that his personal story of past disbelief will help him connect to and bring nonbelievers to Christ.

The Burden
The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three).
