Ready to trade that frantic back-to-school feeling for something more sustainable? This episode is your permission slip to breathe and create intentional rhythms instead of rigid routines that crumble at the first sign of life's inevitable curveballs.

We dive deep into what's really keeping you stuck (spoiler: it's often that voice in your head saying you're not doing enough). That story you're telling yourself that you're behind, disorganized, or that everything will fall apart if you take a break? That's fear talking, not truth. You're not failing - you're in transition, and transitions require grace and strategy, not shame.

Practical strategies abound in this conversation - from setting focused work blocks as non-negotiables to creating a family control center where everyone can see what's happening. We explore the power of regular family meetings and why giving your children your full attention now builds the foundation for open communication during the teenage years. The rhythms you establish today create the life you'll look back on tomorrow.

Self-care isn't just a buzzword - it's a business strategy. Whether it's morning workouts, walks with friends, or quiet reading time, identifying what fuels you and actually scheduling it into your calendar is essential. Different seasons of motherhood require different approaches, but the principle remains: you cannot pour from an empty cup.

Join us for the free Mom and Mind Virtual Summit where we'll continue this conversation with expert mompreneurs who understand exactly what you're going through. Because you deserve support as you build a life and business you love without losing your sanity in the process. Ready to make this season a fresh start rather than a frantic mess? Let's do this together.

Camille (00:00):
You do not need to have it all figured out.
You just need the courage toshow up the clarity one rhythm,
one decision at a time.
And it's not about feelingready.
It's about coming together withyour superpower that you are
human.
You are doing a good job andthis season it can be a fresh

(00:20):
start and not a frantic mess.
So you want to make an impact.
You're thinking about startinga business, sharing your voice.
How do women do it that handlemotherhood, family and still
chase after those dreams?

(00:41):
We'll listen each week as wedive into the stories of women
who know this is Call Me CEO.
Hey, hey, mamas.
Welcome back to another episodeof Call Me CEO, the show for
women building lives andbusinesses they love without
losing their sanity in theprocess.
I am your host, camille Walker, and this episode is all about

(01:05):
how to get back into the swingof things with grace.
It's not about being perfect.
Back to school season is hereand maybe you're feeling a
little scattered, a littleanxious, like how the heck am I
supposed to juggle all of thisand still grow my business?
I feel like all of us live indifferent seasons from one to
another, so this episode is yourpermission slip to stop

(01:27):
spinning the wheels and startcreating simple rhythms that
actually support the life youwant.
That is what this podcast isabout, as well as my coaching.
So here's the thing we are alsogoing to talk about.
What's really keeping you stucksometimes, and that is you yes,
that voice in your head sayingthat you're not doing enough, or
you should have had it allfigured out by now, and that is

(01:51):
false.
So let's quiet that noise today.
Step into something more realand empowering, because you are
not meant to do this alone.
So let's get in this together.
Grab your favorite drink.
So let's get in this together.
Grab your favorite drink.
Also, quick heads up.
The Mom and Mind virtual summitis coming in hot and I am
inviting you totally for free.

(02:11):
It is completely life givingand I'll tell you more at the
end, but go ahead and check outthe link below about the Mom and
Mind summit, because you're notgoing to want to miss this.
All right, let's dive in.
So, first off, we want to talkabout creating rhythms and not a
rigid plan.
So, first things first, stoptrying to control everything.

(02:33):
That perfect plan that you'reobsessing over is a trap and
instead of rigid routines thatfall apart the first time
someone gets sick or spills asmoothie in the minivan.
I want you to think in rhythms.
A rhythm gives you grace.
Rhythms are flexible.
They're sustainable.
They're forgiving when lifethrows you a curve ball and they

(02:56):
will Life will throw you acurve balls.
We know this.
So I want you to ask yourselfwhen do you feel most alive
during your day?
So I want you to ask yourselfwhen do you feel most alive
during your day?
What drains you the fastest andwhat must happen in this season
and what can wait?
This is how we stop living inreactive mode and start leading
our homes and businesses withintention.

(03:18):
It's not about doing more.
It's about doing what mattersmost with presence.
So getting out of our own headis real Like it's hard.
We all do it.
One of the biggest reasons momslike you and me feel overwhelmed
it's not the schedule.
Sometimes it's the mess,sometimes it's not.

(03:39):
It's not even the school dropoff.
It's between what is going onin our heads.
We spiral, we overthink, wecompare, we try to be the
perfectly present mom and theboss level entrepreneur and
somehow not break down crying inthe Target parking lot.
Trust me, I've been there.

(04:00):
So I want you to ask yourselfthis question what story are you
telling yourself right now?
Is it that you're not organizedenough that you're behind that?
If you take a break, everythingwill fall apart.
I want you to know, with love, that that is not the truth.
That is fear, and you are notfailing.

(04:22):
You are in a transition, andtransitions require grace and
strategy, not shame.
So take messy action, hit posts, launch the thing, ask for help
, take the nap, say no to theextra committee.
This is your life and not aperformance.
A lot of times when schoolstarts back up, it can be really

(04:44):
hard not to say yes toeverything.
So let's talk about planning, and not in the perfect Pinterest
board kind of way, but the realplanning that helps you run
your business while keeping yoursanity.
Here are three things to help uswith this season.
Number one I want you to setone to three focused work blocks

(05:05):
each week.
Shut the door, put the phonedown.
These are non-negotiables.
They could be specific times ofday or specific days.
I want you to also have acentral station for your family
where everyone can see what ishappening the family control
center, if you will.
I talk about family meetings alot.

(05:26):
We do those on Sundays.
So I want you to think aboutnumber one, a place where
everyone can see what ishappening in your home.
That could be digital.
I have two older kids now thathave they're on a shared Google
family calendar with us, but Ialso have a physical calendar
that is in our mudroom area, thedrop center of the home, where

(05:49):
everyone can see the calendar.
At a glance.
It's actually a wall calendarfor the year.
I wish I had a digital one.
I do not, I just have a paperone, and you know what.
Honestly, it's enough If I knowwhat's going on on paper and in
my phone and my teenagers knowwhat's going on generally.
I can fill in the gaps with myyounger ones of showing what is

(06:11):
on our calendar for the year Bigevents, parties, showing what
is on our calendar for the year, big events, parties, practices,
that sort of thing.
So I want you to think aboutthose day-to-day expectations of
what's up and coming, but alsoto have Sunday family meetings.
I talk about this all the timethat we call our kids in one at

(06:33):
a time and we talk about what isbig, that's happening for you
this week, what is going well.
We always like to complimentour kids and talk about the good
things that are happening, thepractices that are going on, the
things that they're working on,but then we also ask what is
concerning you?
What is something going onthat's hard right now and
sometimes we already know.

(06:53):
So we bring it up and we givethem our full attention.
And I can tell you from havinga conversation with some moms
just this week.
We talked about how I now haveteenagers and this mom was
saying I'm so scared abouthaving teenagers.
My oldest is now 11 and gettinginto that age of going into

(07:16):
junior high and it's just weird,like it's a push and a pull.
It's really challenging andsetting those boundaries and
introducing phones and how do wemake all of that work?
And my number one bit of advicefor that is to keep
communication regular andcomfortable, even when sometimes

(07:37):
it's uncomfortable topics, andthe way to do that is to start
the cadence of that and theregular one-on-one follow-ups
early.
So these Sunday meetings aren'tabout perfection, it isn't about
a specific checklist.
It's really about checking inwith your child and seeing how
things are going and giving themthe opportunity to have your

(07:58):
full attention.
And my husband and I do thistogether, so we just make an
announcement, usually on ourAlexa, and say it's time for
family meetings, or sometimesit'll be on our drive home from
church, or we'll say there havebeen seasons where it's been at
four o'clock on Sundays is whenwe start, but just whatever
works for you and then, kid bykid, they tag each other and say

(08:22):
, okay, you're next and theyknow it's family meetings.
This is huge because we talkabout what's going on in their
world and I promise you, if youmake an effort to show up and
give effort and attention toyour kids for what's going on in
their world when they are five, the chance that they're going

(08:42):
to show up and let you be a partof what's important in their
world at 15 is so much better, easier, more natural.
It's already a part of yourprogram.
It doesn't mean that they'regoing to want to tell you
everything, and to expect thatof a teenager is not realistic
but it does mean that thatcadence and that attention and

(09:06):
that intention is what matters.
Okay, so get into that routine, even if it's now, you know,
wrapping up summer weeks, goinginto the new school year, make
it a part of your routine.
Are you ready to reclaim yourtime and finally, focus on the

(09:26):
tasks that actually grow yourbusiness.

You can also grab this linkbelow and schedule a free
discovery call with me to see ifit's the right fit for you.

(10:11):
If it's the right fit for you,I want you to think about what
fuels you.
Is it a walk?
Is it taking a bath?
Is it a podcast that reallyfuels you up?
Schedule it into your day, literally put it into your
calendar, because if you do notschedule yourself in, it's not
going to happen.

(10:32):
It literally will pass you by.
The time is going to fly in andout anyway.
I don't know if you had thechance to listen to the episode
that I did with my daughter.
She asked to do it and I was abit shocked, but also excited,
and I did not prep her withquestions, and one thing that

(10:53):
really surprised me that shesaid was a goal for herself is
that she would like to work outevery day, and that is something
that she sees me do, that shewants to make a part of her life
in the future.
Now let me tell you something.
When I had younger children, Iwas not working out every day.

(11:16):
When I had a nursing baby, young kids all around at my feet
that were getting sick everyother week, I swear.
I'm like where are you evengetting this cold?
There have been so many years,so many years, where I could not
be as consistent as I wouldlike to in my, in my exercise.

(11:36):
However, I'm now at a stage nowwhere I have older children
that are more capable to dothings on their own as well as I
can go to the gym by myself.
I can drive in the morning andgo.
I'm now into lifting weightsand I love it.
I love it so much.

(11:58):
I grew up doing a lot of cardio.
I was a dancer, I did highfitness.
I loved it.
There was a season for that,and now I'm 41 and I'm looking
forward to.
What can I do for my hormonehealth, my cortisol levels, my
sleep, my bone density, all ofthese things.

(12:18):
What can I do now?
And so for me right now it'sstrength training, and I have a
friend, one of my best, bestgirlfriends I've had since I was
12 years old.
We meet up almost every day, aswe can.
I think.
It generally tends to be fourto five times a week that we are
meeting up, and it's like Icherish this time.

(12:40):
It is my time to work out.
It is a habit that is instilledwithin me, that gives me
confidence and it puts me on amuch more positive trajectory
for the day.
I'm much more productive when Istart my day that way, and
because it's become such a habitof what I do, my kids are used

(13:02):
to it.
They're used to seeing me puton the clothes.
I'll see you in an hour.
Sometimes it's an hour and ahalf, and it's part of my
program and it is my time and Ilove it.
I love it.
It's so good for me in multiple, multiple, multiple, different
ways.
So I want you to consider whatis that you time.

(13:22):
Another thing that I love to dois I meet up with a girlfriend
who, when we were young mothers,we became the best of friends.
And this is what I love aboutwomen and different periods of
your motherhood and the seasonsthat you're in, is you collect
these incredible people thatteach you and mold you and are
companions with you in differentstages of your life.

(13:44):
And this friend, she and I,would go for daily walks.
We couldn't get to the gym, sowe were out with our strollers
and our dogs and we would go ondaily walks and we developed
such a close friendship.
Well, now we live three and ahalf hours away from each other
and we don't get to see eachother nearly as much as we'd

(14:09):
like to.
In fact, there were years thatwent by where we still had
younger children.
We couldn't see each other thatoften, but now we're in this
new season where we have decidedto make the drive towards each
other.
We meet in kind of a centrallocation for lunch and we try to
get together every one to threemonths, depending on what we

(14:31):
can manage.
We only started doing this inthis last year because, again,
our kids are at ages wherethere's a little more
flexibility, where before it wasproximity, it was.
We can open the door and walkwith each other, and it filled
our cup.
And now we're in a place whereit doesn't happen as often, but
that relationship is so worthputting in that intention.

(14:54):
So consider what stage you're in.
What are those friendships, whoare those people that light you
up or the things you can do foryour body, your soul, your mind
, that help you to feel more you?
And as you're going into thefall months and you start to
think for me, it's a seasonwhere I start to think a little
bit more, a lot a bit moreactually, about the growth of my

(15:16):
business, my services, mycoaching, what am I offering?
What time do I have to give, and consider how that all works
into the picture of creatingthis rhythm that you're looking
for in your life.
And if you name it, you canachieve it.
You can't pour from an emptycup and neither should you try.

(15:39):
This is something you've hearda million times and I'm sure
that comes as no surprise to you.
If you are craving clarity andconnection heading into this new
season, I want you to come hangout with me and my friend Megan
