Why do we exchange gifts on Christmas? This tradition points us to the best gift of all in Jesus Christ. In this week's sermon, we learn that God has given us the perfect Priest.
While the world around us is in shambles, we are reminded this Christmas that we are part of a Kingdom with a King that is eternal, filled with peace and joy!
Everyone wants contentment and joy in life. However, many people are looking in the wrong place. Only Jesus can give us true joy in life. So this Thanksgiving, we need to find our purpose in Him.
Ignorance is no excuse for the law. Just because you did something accidentally doesn't mean you're not guilty. So how should we address unintentional sin? Leviticus 4 teaches us that God takes all forms of sin very seriously, and we should too.
"How can God accept a guilty sinner like me?" When you're trying to do the right thing but keep failing, it's hard to feel God's presence. You're trying to approach God, but He seems cut off. The book of Leviticus teaches us how to approach God properly.
In light of all that God has done for us, how should we live as Christians? The book of Ephesians unpacks the riches of God's grace in Christ. We've been challenged to walk in a manner worthy of our calling. Paul summarizes that walk in the conclusion of this letter.
What happens when someone shows up to a battle unprepared? When you're ill-equipped for the task at hand, it doesn't end well. How much more so in the fight for souls! So we must put on the armor of God to be prepared for spiritual battles.
What do we fight for as Christians? Ephesians 6 says that our fight is not against people, but against the spiritual forces of evil. There is a constant war for your soul. So we must fight to win!
How does the Gospel affect my job and work ethic? God created work to be a reflection of His intelligence and creativity, but sometimes we view it as a necessary evil. But what if God has a greater purpose for your work? Ephesians 6:5-9 reveals that we are called to glorify God with our work by honoring earthly authority.
How does the Gospel impact the family? In Ephesians 6:1-4, God gives specific instructions regarding the parent-child relationship. When we obey these commands, it brings joy and blessings.
God created marriage for His glory and our good. To have a healthy marriage, we must understand and practice our God-given roles. This week, Pastor Dave examines the husband's role in marriage.
Marriage is the most important human relationship and the clearest picture of the Gospel on earth. However, marriage is under attack. So if we want to picture the Gospel accurately, then we must understand our roles in marriage. This week, Pastor Dave walks us through the wife's role in marriage from Ephesians 5:22-33.
How can we make a difference in a world hurdling toward destruction? As culture wars against the truth, the temptation to give up or give in becomes stronger. But by God's grace, we can make a difference by walking as children of the light.
Children tend to become like their parents. We naturally imitate their habits and tendencies. As God's children, we should imitate our Heavenly Father. Ephesians 5:1-7 gives this command.
What does change look like? The Gospel of Jesus Christ gives us new life. This new life involves growth and change. In Ephesians 4:17-32, we see what a changed life should look like.
Church unity is a fragile aspect of church life. Sin takes place in the body that threatens unity. Pride exists in the body that destroys unity. And Satan does all that he can to eliminate unity. We must all be eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. But how do we do that? How do we maintain unity? This sermon examines three aspects of unity that we must all understand to maintain unity in the church.
When you have a significant position, you also have a considerable responsibility. So what responsibility does the Gospel bring? In Ephesians 4, we see that the Gospel brings expectations for a changed life.
Do you get excited about God's grace? We easily fail to comprehend the amazing grace of God. So in Ephesians 3:14-21, Paul prays that we would grasp the glory of God's grace.
Mysteries can be thrilling adventures. We enjoy the twists and turns of a good mystery. In Ephesians 3, Paul teaches us that God has been working His mysterious plan of redemption since the beginning of time.
Do you feel alone in this world? Sometimes our decisions and habits in life leave us feeling lonely and stuck. But Ephesians 2:11-22 reminds us that we are not alone in this world. Christ has given us access to God and membership in His covenant community.
