Hello from the Amplifying Newsroom. I'm Hayden. Visera a massive
day for Life Blood Australia as restrictions on blood and
plasma donations for gay and bisexual men have been lifted.
It comes as plasma demands have reached an all time high,
with Lifeblood Act spokesperson Helen Walt telling us how many
more donations are expected.

So we're expecting an extra twenty four thousand dollars to
make about an extra ninety five thousand donations of plasma
every year as a result of this change.

Meanwhile, it's been revealed more than half a million Aussies
are living with type two diabetes and don't know it's
It's National Diabetes Week, with figures showing another two million
Aussies are at risk of developing the illness. With free
health checks on off of this week. Diabetes Australia CEO
Justine Caine says it's a ticking time bomb.

Our predictions are that three point two million Australians could
be living with type two diabetes by twenty fifty and
that will place an unsustainable burden on individuals and also
for our health system and taxpayers.

The Prime Minister will sit down with business leaders in

to sprook the economic links between our countries. The Prime
Minister will also host a round table with representatives from
the steel industry, pointing to a greener future. Act Police
are seeking witnesses to an alleged act of indecency occurring

Investigations for two alleged acts of indecency by a man
on a young woman are ongoing. Police alleged the man
to be in his early thirties, Caucasian, and was wearing
either a puffy jacket or sweater, blue nim jeans and
