Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hello from the Amplifying newsroom. I'm tamarow Cartwright. Freedom of
information documents have revealed the ACT government did not consult
emergency service volunteers before charging them an eleven dollar registration fee.
That fee has now been wiped, but Shadow Minister for
Emergency Services Deborah Morris says its disappointing volunteers were not
thought of before making changes to registration.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
For the government to come forward and now charge or
attempt to charge volunteers eleven dollars to effectively work for
the government is the height of an insult and disrespect
to people who give up their own time and money
to serve their community.

Speaker 1 (00:40):

President JD. Van says Hamas is made up of many cells.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
Some of those cells will probably honor the ceasefire. Many
of those cells, as we saw some evidence up today,
well not.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
There's moves for a rethink on the words and language
we use when talking about gambling harm. As part of
Gambling Harm Action Week, a new guard for talking about
gambling and related harm has been released, aiming to move
away from blame and stigma and towards support. If you
need help, you can call the Gambling Helpline on one

Barnaby Joyce admits he doesn't know what's next for him,
after confirming he won't recontest his seat at the next
federal election. The Member for New England has been linked
to a potential move to One Nation, but is refusing
to confirm if that's where he's headed. He says he
wanted to give the party plenty of time to find
a replacement. And thieves have stolen priceless jewelry from the

Louver in Paris while it was open. It's believe they
used an Angle Grandeur and power tools to get into
the building. The robbery took just seven minutes and they
were gone. And that's the latest from the Camberan news

next update.

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist

It’s 1996 in rural North Carolina, and an oddball crew makes history when they pull off America’s third largest cash heist. But it’s all downhill from there. Join host Johnny Knoxville as he unspools a wild and woolly tale about a group of regular ‘ol folks who risked it all for a chance at a better life. CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist answers the question: what would you do with 17.3 million dollars? The answer includes diamond rings, mansions, velvet Elvis paintings, plus a run for the border, murder-for-hire-plots, and FBI busts.
