Hello from the Amplifying newsroom. I'm Tomorrow Cartwright. The federal
government is hailing it's handling off the economy after reducing
the deficit by around eighteen billion dollars. The deficit for
last fin year has come in at ten billion, thanks
largely to a surge in company and income tax. Finance
Minister Katie Gallaher says getting the budget back in shape

has been their top priority.
